My husband actually enjoyed his filet (normally restaurants in this area have a flavorless steak or over/under cook it). It was cooked perfectly and the blue cheese atop the steak was a high quality blue cheese so it was smooth and creamy. My salmon had an awesome flavor and was also prepared perfectly. I chose the crawfish Mac and French onion soup as my sides. The Mac and cheese was fabulous and the soup was also delicious. We had the egg rolls as an appetizer. These egg rolls have collards instead of cabbage and they were surprisingly good. We couldn't sample any desserts because we were stuffed. We would return, mainly because Albany has very few non-franchise restaurants and the food was great. The only "con" to this restaurant was the atmosphere. It seemed kinda stuffy for a restaurant in a strip mall.

I really enjoyed my filet mignon with mushrooms. The creamed spinach not so much. Artichoke dip was great. If you're in the mood for steak, definitely check this place out. Pleasantly upscale so you will notice most business visitors in town dining in.

I hadn't heard of this restaurant but some coworkers invited me out so I gladly accepted. I'm always up for a good steak. I had an 18 oz ribeye which was cooked VERY nicely. I ordered it medium rare plus and it came out as I requested. Excellent grade of me, great cut, cooked to my liking. I did order the white cheddar truffle mac and cheese or whatever it was. It didn't impress me however. It definitely doesn't look anything like the cover photo. The portion size was small for the prize, lacking in flavor, and way more bread crumbs than mac and cheese. My coworker had a T-bone with bleu cheese and he said it was fantastic (as did his plate with only a bone) All in all though, the atmosphere was nice...you almost forgot you were in Albany, and the steaks were awesome. Definitely a different vibe than what I was used to for dinner in this area. Slightly pricey (but worth its value) so it wouldn't be like grabbing dinner at longhorn or Chili's but I'd return.

Absolutely my favorite fine restaurant in South GA. I am never disappointed. The French Onion soup and filet mignon are to die for. Chicken Florentine is exceptional. The bar service is amazing. Try the "Georgia Peach" martini. Wow! My husband and I also enjoy the music....whatever station that is, I want it! It creates the best atmosphere for a fine meal. Yes, it's an expensive place, but you get the best food you'll probably ever eat. For all "foodies" who enjoy fine casual dining, this is the place to go.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Cost was about $122 for two people with a few drinks and desserts added to dinner.

Being from Chicago, I'm a girl who has had a good steak, or two! So if you find yourself in Albany, Georgia, Henry Campbell's is THE place for steak. First, the name. Bo Henry, one of the owners explained it to me that it's a combination of his name "Henry" with his partner's name "Campbell". He also owns a couple of other places in town (The Reef and Harvest Moon) so this is a guy who knows how to take care of the customer. The ambiance is warm and inviting. We were with a large group so we had the private room right off of the entrance. Know before you go that this place is desperately in need of some exterior signage. Right now-the only way you know you are in the right place is the small placard by the front door (but I have it on good authority that after 2 years of no signage, a sign is on it's way!) For now- know that it is the end unit in the Westover strip mall. We had a set menu but it let us taste a wide range of foods. For appetizers, there were the signature beef tips and potatoes with aioli sauce, wild mushroom tart, spicy shrimp (not spicy, more smokey) and some type of "deep south" egg roll stuffed with chicken and collard greens. All were quite good although the entire plate needed to be warmer. And I can't forget the rolls as they were warm, topped with seeds and delicious! For my entree- I went with the 18oz rib eye (barely made a dent in it) and the fully loaded baked potato. My meat was over cooked but the rest of the table seemed not to have that issue so I didn't deduct any points as I think my steak may have finished cooking while they waited to bring out the other people's food. I doubt you would have that problem if you were just eating a dinner for two. The winner at the table on this night, however, wasn't the steak at all, but the sea bass entree that everyone was raving about. Service was spot on. Everyone who was waiting on our table was pleasant, willing to please and quick with a water refill or to run and get a drink. I loved the hospitality! And I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the bartender. Whoever was making my drinks was spot on as my martini was perfectly dirty and the blue cheese olives freshly stuffed! Given entrees were in the $25 - $36 range with appetizers starting around $10, this is not an inexpensive evening but more a "splurge" although the quality of the food was excellent.. So if you are looking for a nice night out while in Albany- check out Henry Campbell's. You'll be happy you did!

I went there twice. First time I had an amazing dinner and a very nice waiter, but the second time apparently they had hired a fairly new young waiter who provided low standard services. I felt like I was associating with a total stoner because the whole time we would order he would ask two or three more times and he didn't really check on us or anything. Like ask if we wanted more drinks.. Not that I'm a snob when I go out to eat, but what brings people back for the food is the great service and I guess we made this guys night because we each tipped him $25 so hey he made $75 that night and he didn't even have to try haha

I came in on a Wednesday night and note that I had already eaten a little before I showed up there. I sat at the bar and was take care of by the bartenders, Kat and Angie who were very attentive and couldn't have even been more professional. I ordered the tomato bisque they had on special that day and it was a nice, creamy, slightly tart start to the meal. I read other reviews saying that the caesar they've ever had. I don't think I'll go so far to say that but it was really good, with a dressing that didn't overpower the romaine and the parmesan and the addition of cherry tomatoes added a nice sweetness. I ordered the 6oz filet medium rare, with the truffle mac and cheese and ordered a glass of the wine after Angie gave me a sample of it. The filet is seasoned then grilled which made it a little difficult to pick up the flavor of the meat sometimes. The wine did cut through it though and it made me glad that I ordered it. The truffle macaroni and cheese though was really quite savory, definitely a well balanced side where everything bit in was there and didn't overpower anything else. I wanted an end to this meal but was already near full so I didn't want the cheesecake and I was suggested the creme brulee. I was wrong, because the dessert was large and not overly sweet and came with three little vanilla wafer cookies that accentuated the sweet cream. Pitch perfect except for the slightly overpowering seasoning on the steak-which you can ask to have removed.

This was an awesome find in Albany, Georgia. The area has some relatively good, but not great, food. I caught Henry Campbell's on Yelp and found the website through a little searching. The own actually has three venues in Albany listed under stewbos.com . The place is in a strip mall but the outside is pretty easy to find. I ate in the bar which is a good stab at a classic steakhouse affair right down to the soundtrack. The bar tender, Angie, was AWESOME and mixes a top notch Manhattan - much better than expectations. I thought I knew what I wanted to eat until Angie started with the specials. Quite a few for a Tuesday night. I ended up with a six ounce filet with half a lobster tail. The filet had a tomato Bearnaise sauce - quite good - but it way did not need it. It was damn near perfect. The lobster tail was cooked well to. There was no problem replacing asparagus with creamed spinach and the salad with french onion soup - sorry not in a healthy mood today :-) There was no up charge. All in all I would eat here again anytime. Angie's Manhattan and the easy substitutions give this place the 5th star.

Awesome, awesome steaks. Melt-in-your mouth. Good value for the quality of the meat as well. I usually go for the NY Strip, since it's the best value and my wife and I can split it. Be sure to get blue cheese crumbles on top! Sides are awesome too, like the truffle mac & cheese. Probably the most upscale place in Albany, but not sure. Oh, and there isn't a sign, so good luck finding it.

The Mrs and I just got home from our 20th anniversary dinner at Henry Campbells. First time there. We got there at 6pm so there was only one other couple in there when we arrived. First impression was that they are trying to save on a/c bill. Not intolerable but a bit warm. The water on the table was plain tap water, which would be fine if Albany tap water didn't taste so nasty. We had a young waiter named Justin. He promised we could cut any steak on the menu with a fork, so my wife and I both ordered the dry aged 16oz ribeyes. My wife asked for lemon for her water. About 5 minutes later our salads came and a few minutes after that she got lemon for her water. Nice, fresh salad but nothing special, zero imagination. Steaks were pretty good and cooked spot-on like we ordered. Again, I would say it was a good steak, but no way in hell was it fork tender. I ordered my steak "blue cheese encrusted". It tasted pretty good but the blue cheese stuff on it was too salty. That may be my fault because I never ordered a blue cheese encrusted steak before, so maybe that's what I should have expected. We each had a glass of red wine with dinner. No dessert. I don't have any problem at all dropping 100 plus tip on a great meal, but this was just not that great. The 3 stars is for value and service. I kinda doubt if we will return...

Bottom line, Henry Campbell's is a really good steak house! The steaks are dry aged just like Ruth Chris. The biggest plus is that this place is on Albany, GA. Why? Because the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. And Albany is lucky to have such a pleasure. The service is pretty good, not great, but very acceptable. Will defiantly be returning.

You can't go wrong with any of the steaks here. Best steak I've ever had in my life! Perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned. The bread and sides are very tasty too. My only regret is not trying any of the desserts because I'm sure they are heavenly.

Located in the Tony's Gym shopping center, next to Shogun. For those who are not familiar, there is no sign. They are known for their steaks, so that's what I got. Meh. It was like $30 just for the steak, and it WAS a good quality steak, but it lacked flavor. $5 extra for a baked potato and a salad, which was an iceberg wedge and 2 cherry tomatoes. Servers are polite and knowledgeable. I was expecting to be blown away, but it was just OKAY. And, maybe there is a fantastic item on the menu, but I didn't have it. Way too overpriced for what it is. Seating is odd... I was sitting closer to a total stranger than my boyfriend across the table.

Great upscale restaurant in southwest Georgia. Food is very well prepared. We had the Wicked Pimento to start, followed by salads, potatoes and steaks. The steaks were great quality and cooked as requested. Staff was attentive and professional. Will definitely go again when I visit Albany.

This is the second time I went to this place. The first time the food blow my mind! I went anxiously to repeat the same dishes, but, to my surprise, they were nothing like the first time...I mean nothing! Maybe they changed the chef, I don't know. I'll give them three stars just because of the first visit.

We had the Filet Mignon 28 oz & the chopped steak, for sides the aspagarus, Truffle white cheddar mac & cheese and whipped potatos. None of it stood out as any better than if we had gone to one of the several chain places in Albany. The prices were far too high for the level of deliciousness. Arguably, this is the nicest restuarant in Albany, so perhaps you're paying for big city style dining? The salads were awesome & the sides were average, but I'm rating off of the main course. If you don't live here, save the nice night out for the next city on your trip OR visit their sister establishment, The Catch (in my opinion the best restaurant int Albany.)

Sat at the bar for dinner this evening. Had the French Onion soup, 8oz Filet Mignon and Brussels Sprouts. All were outstanding and perfectly prepared. Service was very prompt and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the music playing in the background. Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Norah Jones, etc. Great touch!

I have been told how great this place was. I would give it a negative 10 if possible. My wife and I went there for the "great" steaks. We went about 5:30 to beat the supposed crowds. Unluckily, there was a drunken lonely hearts meeting at the bar and they learned to talk in a wood mill. To add to the insane noise level, we were the only folks eating at a table and service was nonexistent to the point I thought I might be getting filmed on a prank show. Once we secured our steak order ,,,finally - the well done steaks we ordered came out so bloody that I thought I was being punked again. We sent the steaks back, only to have them come back again - slightly less bloody. We fled, fearing for our stomachs and lives. No joke!!!!
