Where do I begin? I was very excited to eat here with my family and after reading all the reviews I thought I would give it a try I want to be candid that I didn't go for the sushi, but my family did. Being allergic to shellfish I ordered the chicken hibachi Oh KAY the young horrific server who was anything but helpful. She delivered my chicken hibachi with SHRIMP in it - I immediately said I am highly allergic to shellfish. She took it to the kitchen and returned with the same plate and said "it's only shrimp"!!!! Um hello that's shellfish. Then after 10 minutes advised me they were making me a new dish 40 minutes later after I asked where is my food - and my family was done with their second round of sushi. She said it was almost done??? I told her forget it .... in which she replied "please"???? Best part she brings the bill and said I charged you for your salad and rice is that ok? I replied not really, but does it matter and YES she was arrogant enough to say not really !!!!! I asked for a manager - to be told there isn't one there. I was forced to pay my bill and was given a number to their manager and was advised to call back Thursday or Friday???? Seriously? No manager??? Unbelievably the worst experience ever. I'm saddened that there's not one ounce of professionalism and not one employee could care less. Shame on Sushi Cafe - your sushi is all you have going for you because your service stinks.

I've been here twice already, and plan on going over and over and over again. Although Sushi Cafe is a sushi "buffet", there are no buffet lines. There is no sushi that has been sitting out for hours. Instead, you'll be given a checklist typical of sushi restaurants when you're seated and you can order in whatever quantities you want. This includes appetizers, select rolls, and a variety of nigiri (my favorite). On my first visit I ordered vegetable tempura and 10 pieces of nigiri and received my meal directly at my table from the sushi chef. It was fresh to order and delicious, I was so delighted! The only catch is that you are charged extra for leaving food on your plate (rice, fish, appetizers) or bringing it home with you. So as long as you know your limits and/or order incrementally, you will have no problem walking out of there with over $50 worth of (good) sushi in your stomach for only $13. The staff are all friendly, had no issues whatsoever. Atmosphere was good, it had a good sushi restaurant vibe ;) It is simply the best deal in the Orlando area! At the time of writing it is $12.99 _all day_ for the buffet and the restaurant is open late. Students are eligible for a 10% discount (except for the buffet). I highly recommend Sushi Cafe!

Worst place ever gave me food poisoning and horrible service and very slow stay away!!! They charge you for left overs too!

Went there with my girlfriend and roommate last night. I was very impressed by the quality of the sushi. I was expecting this place to be average at best but wanted to try it since it is so close to my house. I was very wrong. This place is very very good and I am a sushi snob. The happy hour prices are great and we were able to get a groupon to get $30 with of food for $18. I will definitely go back.

The sushi was A-OK. The service was rather awkward. My husband and I went to check out the happy hour specials that we saw advertised on their website. The server had very broken English and I found it difficult to communicate with her. She gave us the all you can eat menu and when we said we didn't want to do all you can eat she then gave us a regular menu. I asked about the happy hour specials on the website and she said they only offer it upon request. We placed our drink order and she insisted that before she could put the drink order in we needed to write it down on the happy hour paper menu. The sushi itself was decent. Better than publix sushi I would say. I found the temperature of the cold items that I ordered to be more on the warm side which was a little odd to me with the sashimi items. I didn't care for the dark atmosphere and the service. The all you can eat price seemed very reasonable but make sure to finish everything you order or there is a fee for leaving it on the plate. However, for a little extra fee you can take the leftovers to go.

So I initially gave Sushi Cafe 3 stars because I found it pretty average. After comparing it with besuto across the street, which I think has some darn good sushi, I've decided that I was wrong and Sushi Cafe is a solid 4 star sushi spot. While besuto has some specialty rolls that you might not know about, all the traditional rolls at Sushi Cafe are great. Oh... and their specials aren't anything to sneeze at either.

Excellent sushi at an awesome price. Went with a group of friends and everyone really enjoyed what they had. For the price and the location, it doesn't get better for a nice quick place to grab a bite!

This place seem to cater to poor college student. The roll are quite cheap for the amount of food you get. However, it taste really horrible. I don't like the excessive sauce and the lack of fresh ingredients.

I came to this place because my favorite place was close, the sushi is fine nothings fancy the price is a bit high for the quality of fish serve here.

Had the Volcano and Rock & Roll. They were both delicious and filling. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The service was quick. Bathrooms were clean and the restaurant had a nice ambience.

This is my new favorite place, mainly because the daily happy hour. I've been there about 6 times already and each experience has been great. The staff is friendly and attentive. Great happy hour specials like a 4pc tuna roll for $1.95. The food is fresh and you don't have to wait long at all. Love it here.

Excellent food and friendly service. They give students 10% off with student ID and also 10% off for senior citizens.

My work crowd came here for lunch. The decor is fresh, nice, and very clean. We had the all you can eat sushi....yes there is such a thing for $12.99. Our server Michelle gave us several great recommendations. The tempura was perfect and the eel was great. This restaurant is located where Barducci's was formerly located next to Winn Dixie opposite of Tijuana Flats. You should really stop by and enjoy this well priced selection.

I was hyped about this place after reading couple of reviews but then my past experiences were right. Sushi buffets are not a place I want to go. The quality of fish on their sushi were really low. It wasn't fresh and didn't taste good. They do too much rice and very little fish. I guess I can't blame them. Anyway, I wouldn't go back. The service was good.

They are cheap, have great portion sizes, and the food is delicious. I was skeptical at first since I'm picky about my sushi, but it was an amazing experience.

$14.99 all you can eat for an hour. That is a very decent price if only they give you LESS RICE with each piece of sushi and roll. I feel like they are really trying to COMPACT in as much rice they can in each piece of the sushi. Not sure if its because its all you can eat? Who knows. Quality of the food will be equivalent to a $14.99 AYCE. Service? Also equivalent to a $14.99 all you can eat restaurant. I guess if you are hungry and don't really care about the quality of the food or service, this would be a nice place to go to curb that random sushi craving. Definitely NOT HIGH QUALITY though...then again, its $14.99!!! So you know what to expect :)

Really nice lunch "all you can eat" sushi special. The seaweed from the miso soup didn't taste the freshest, but the veggie tempura had excellent, crispy batter and fresh vegetables. The spicy tuna and tai rolls were satisfying enough. Super attentive service.

  • Laura G.

Quality of sushi was comparable to a buffet. Nigiri and cold items were warm. Not a lot of items on the menu. We were charged $5 extra for not eating all of the rice on our nigiri. Would pay extra to eat at a buffet because there is a lot more variety in sushi foods and won't be charged for not eating every single crumb off of our plates.

  • Oscar A.

Really great sushi place. Everything is super fresh. Really awesome that you can do the "all you can eat", and everything is made to order instead of sitting around. You can tell the tempura items we ordered were just fried. The sushi was really great quality as well. Usually in sushi buffet type places, the rice had a strange consistency and isn't executed well, but this place has great sushi rice execution. I ordered a bunch of nigiri and the cuts of fish were really tasty and generously portioned. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Never had to ask for anything, they were always anticipating if we needed anything.

Horrible sushi, it was all frozen, and tasted like the refrigerator. They have an all you can eat sushi for $12.99 and then they charge you $0.75 for any sushi you don't finish-and they call that an "UNFINISHED" charge-the waitress didn't even tell us about that. If you are good at calculating how much you are going to eat, right down to the piece, and you don't mind 3rd rate day old seafood, than this place is for you. Only leaving 1 star because there is no option for zero stars.

There are so many places that do sushi wrong that finding one that does it right is a wonderful thing. When I first heard about an all you can eat sushi cafe at the price this place charges, I was skeptical. I pictured a shady establishment with questionable staff and even more questionable food. Last thing I wanted was a case of seafood related food poisoning. Boy am I glad I let my son talk me into going here. Wow!! Sushi is super fresh, tasteful, delicious. Oh did I mention fresh? The entire time in the place I never once got a wiff of any seafood being prepared in the area. The waitress was sweet and very pleasant. The place is clean, cozy and welcoming. Although I am not going to write about all the different items i've had here, everything has been delicious. The steamed dumplings are divine. The crab tempura is amazing. I've tried about twelve different rolls and each one is unique and delicious. Don't miss out on this super cheap and delicious eatery if you like sushi.

Very good sushi. Have been to Tokyo and cannot complain. Best all you can eat around east Orlando. Honest system to avoid waste, you order only what you are going to eat. superior customer service.

Not a fan. Ingredients were fresh but not properly put together and then drenched in a ton of sauce. The rice on the sushi is not traditional sticky rice so it kept falling apart and they were made unevenly. Some pieces had a gigantic blob of rice while others lacked. The seafood soup tasted like hot water without any season. The crab ragoon were delish! The service, although nice, lacked a lot. You can tell the only 2 servers were overwhelmed. I also wonder if they were running short on ginger because each plate only had a sliver our two. We literally had to give step by step instructions to our waiter, "can we have utensils, can we have a few eating plates, or our drinks would be nice...."

Very good! The food was tasty and came out quick. The price was very affordable and perfect for a broke college kid. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The only thing that bugged me is the menu has some speciality rolls that didn't have a description and I had to ask the staff about each roll.

This is my new favorite sushi place. Our waitress Bianca was an absolutely sweetheart and extremely helpful. It was our first time eating here so we had a lot of questions about the menu. They have a dinner special that includes 3 sushi rolls, and a soup or salad for $10.95... That's unheard of!! Our waitress knew every sushi roll on the menu and was patient with explaining all the specials to us. I complimented her and told her she was an incredible waitress and seemed like she's been doing this a long time. She then informed me that it was actually her first time serving!!! I was so shocked and pleased. The restaurant must train their servers very well. My boyfriend and I were more than pleased, to say the least. The sushi rolls were large, the presentation was beautiful, the prices were great and the service amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Happy Hour sushi! I would consider this a good place to get cheaper sushi. Fish quality is good. And the service was nice. It is a perfect location for a casual hang out. For sports fans: Has TV but no ESPN. We will definitely be back.

Food and price very good, sometimes wait. For food is very long!!had to only give it 3 stars but could have been four. I advise you don't order the tempura, after having a great dinner being very patient with the very slow service, understanding they where under staffed and she was in the weeds, but was doing as best she could any way the tempura vegetables it was like a sponge that soaked up all the oil in the fryer.ate a piece and half and almost got sick from it. I told my server that this did not seem right.she then took it to someone higher up,I was then told it was how it was suppose to be. I was then charged for not wanting to eat it. I gladly payed for it to not have to eat it. But will be very cautious of what I order agin. I have no problem being charged for food I didn't finish, but not something that is not prepared corectly!!

Certainly fresh nigiri, grand selection of raw and cooked rolls, authentic sushi chefs with reasonable timing, great happy hour specials, okay service, decent hours, upscale decor from the Barducci days. Two TV's and radio. Will be back!

I've been here way over 5 times and been extremely satisfied every time. The service is extremely friendly quick and ontop of tables. They are always refilling your drinks and making sure you have everything you need They have amazing prices $2.50 for 4 average sized rolls -- however you can get plenty for such a low price There is outdoor seating and nightly specials. The more you spend the more they're going to give you percentage off your bill and thank for your service I will continue to come here every chance I crave sushi. It's affordable and amazing staff. I recommend anything tempura, Kani salad & salmon rolls.

After being told about the "All you can eat sushi" for $14.99, we were a little skeptical that this was going to be a positive dining adventure. Well I have to admit, I actually enjoyed what I was served. We walked in and chose to eat at the sushi bar. Our server was quick to greet us and was very good at explaining the details about the "All You Can Eat" menu. Iced Tea with lime for me and Saki for the wife. She was not hungry enough to go for the all you can eat and ordered the Thai Ji Roll but I chose to give it a whirl. I started off with a bowl of Miso and it was OK but did not wow me. My wife's order and my first round arrived. I had to admit that it looked much better than I was expecting but it better taste fresh and it did. The pieces were a bit smaller than other places BUT I am OK with that because my wife is always complaining it is too big for a mouthful. After several plates, I was full and called it quits... My ONLY complaints are that the ALL YOU CAN EAT menu could be a little more diverse and they slip a few items on the menu that are an extra charge so LOOK OVER THE MENU CAREFULLY! SUSHI: Presentation - 4 Taste - 4 Miso Soup - 3 Service - 4 Atmosphere - 4 If you are not a sushi snob, you will probably enjoy the All you can eat option for $14.99 and leave satisfied. I suspect I will be back again because if I had been at one of my usual spots, my bill would have been about $75 more than it was considering all that I ate. I tried to take pictures of everything but I think I missed a couple of plates... lol

I am so bummed! I was very much looking forward to this place and unfortunately, I do not get the hype. I like the concept of all you can eat sushi so you can try several different items without breaking the bank, but quality still needs to be there. Upon walking in, we were told to sit anywhere. We sat and waited for the server to come over. A few minutes later, another group came in and sat down, and they were served immediately. We were still waiting to be approached with menus when they received their drinks and ordered food. After being in the restaurant for about 20 minutes we ordered. We each had a few questions for our server as some of the rolls didn't have descriptions, but she couldn't tell us what was in them either. She said she didn't know and made a few guesses. Appetizers came out first - edamame, crab Rangoon, and dumplings. All were decent. Sushi came out next and the only thing that tasted good were these negiri salmon pieces. Spicy tuna roll was very fishy and had the crunch flakes. Every roll ordered had tempura crunch flakes in it, whether it was in the description or not. The fish was definitely not fresh and I couldn't eat either of the two rolls with tuna in it. The taste was very off putting and I couldn't eat it. It took a while for our server to come back so we could ask for the check and I had to get up to go find her. We knew that you couldn't leave any pieces behind or else you'd get charged for them but I had asked if there was anything they could do about the two entire rolls (minus 3 total pieces) left behind because they were inedible and, after checking with the manager, they agreed not to charge me extra for those pieces. My friend, on the other hand, was not so lucky. In addition to being charged $0.75 for each piece left behind (which we understood ahead of time), you have to pay an ADDITIONAL $0.75 (so $1.50 in total) per piece to take it home. So if she wanted to take her 5 pieces of sushi leftovers home, it would have cost her $7.50 to do so. That is a joke!! They are getting two stars because it is a good value and they were willing to work with me on the rolls that I couldn't eat due to freshness.

Change is the one constant at Sushi Cafe, and unfortunately I'm on the edge of adjusting my rating to three stars. Not yet, but I'm on the verge -- we'll see what the future holds. Much of my original review still stands, but the prices and selection are constantly in flux on the AYCE menu. Lunch/Dinner used to be $12.99/$19.99 with more options on the dinner menu, then it was $12.99 all day with the same menu regardless of time, then it was $12.99/$14.99. They're clearly trying to find that sweet spot where the maximum number of people are happy. They said they got complaints about the dinner prices when it was $19.99. Frankly, I think that's ridiculous, because one look at the dinner menu's nigiri options and you'd know that it's worth the extra money for the extra selection. But hey, I'm only one guy, so they took that menu away, using the lunch menu as the all-day $12.99 special. The lunch menu was still pretty good, and for the price it was an absolute steal, but then this $12.99/$14.99 change happened. We came in for lunch (our 7th visit, I believe) and the menu was missing the unagi nigiri. My brain went: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Apparently the unagi is only available on the dinner menu now. Dammit. But we soldiered on. Unfortunately it also seemed that, on the nigiri we did order, the cuts were noticeably thinner than previous occasions. Oh dear. That's the mark of a restaurant struggling with unsustainable prices. However, it IS still a good deal at $12.99. Just not the "too-good-to-be-true, angels singing, unicorns prancing" kind of good deal that it was when Sushi Cafe first opened. Part of me is glad that they're trying so hard to keep that price intact, but I personally would shell out an extra couple of bucks to see their nigiri stay at the level it had previously been at. I may be in the minority though, so we'll just have to see what happens. I'm sure this won't be the last change we see. I really wish them the best of luck, and I hope to see that big dining area of theirs a bit more full next time.

This place is awesome. Great service!!! The servers are very attentive and very pleasant. The food is of good quality. I'm usually picky about the rice and their rice is cooked perfectly. The price $12.99 is very reasonable for an AYCE buffet. Food is freshly made to order. Make sure to leave room for the banana tempura for desert.
