I love this place for seafood. Most people order one of the baskets of seafood that can be broiled or deep fried. I love getting the mussels appetizer bowl for only $5!!! You get a heap of mussels with 2 breadsticks. It's in a onion and bellpepper broth. So yummy and a great price! Sometimes I'll eat just this for my meal. Recently I found out the lobster roll is an awesome deal. For $16.99, you for the lobster roll and two sides. That might sound pricey but there is enough lobster in the roll that you can order an extra Nissan roll (the kind of bread it comes in) and make a second lobster roll. The lobster is mixed with mayo and placed on top of lettuce in the roll. Mmmmm! My son loves getting the grilled cheese kids meal . It comes with two little sandwiches. Served in the Nissan roll and melted white American cheese, it comes with fries. My daughter orders shrimp scampi. It's a good portion for her and she tears through it! It's buttery deliciousness. The nautical theme is spread throughout the restaurant to the restrooms with the usual older patrons and seafood lovers.

For the longest time my wife & I have said that when her parents come to town we must bring them here, but it always gets overlooked. Not This Time! Our shrimp & crabaholics were in seafood heaven starting with the stuffed mushrooms, followed by the lb of crablegs, the fried shrimp, the mahi mahi dinner plate. Thankfully we came in during an off peak time because I can see how the lines can get lengthy. If you are bored with the chain seafood spots. This local little haunt will not disappoint. If you save room for dessert you can walk to Jeremiah's Italian Ice for a cool treat.

My family and I have been enjoying Boston's Fish House since it was in a small two room House on Aloma Avenue and have never left dissatisfied. In my opinion the seafood is the freshest you will find in the area. While I haven't tried their baked seafood dishes, the fried seafood is beyond compare. I normally get the fried shrimp box or fried oyster box along with fried onion rings. The clam chowder and lobster bisque are also a must. I recommend arriving early as this place gets crowded. If you are not overly hungry, order the lunch portion as it is plenty of food.

My mate-sized Boston's Seafood Combo Platter was pricey, but good. I ordered it broiled with Cajun flavoring. It was cooked perfectly. It comes with onion rings already and two additional sides. I chose coleslaw and zucchini medley. They were good. The serving of onion rings were very generous. The cook did not like how the first batch came out, so they gave us an extra basket. The platter also comes with a choice of fried oysters, clams, or whole belly clams. I chose the oysters. They had too much breading, so I was not really able to get a good taste of the oysters.

Some of the best seafood comes from New England and thankfully there is a place that serves up some delicious seafood right on the outskirts of Winter Park! The process of ordering takes place first at a counter, followed by seating, which I think saves time for everyone in the end. In addition to your appetite, bring your patience with you to the restaurant, as this place can get busy. You'll wait in line to order and then wait again at your table for the food to be served. Entrees here are quite delightful. My husband usually orders the fried seafood combo platter, which is a hefty portion of fried fish, shrimp, scallops, clams, and onion rings. He is in fried heaven with this dish. I enjoy the simple salmon skewers. Juicy pieces of grilled salmon and veggies on a stick - healthy and incredibly delicious. The sides here are not super exciting. The onion nuggets (sound strange but just trust me) are most tasty and the broccoli salad helps balance out the meal. Next time, I can't wait to try the clam chowder or lobster bisque. Side note - the Yelp page stock photo for Boston Fish House is a piece of white swordfish. While I don't doubt that the swordfish is tasty, the fish looks a little sad at first glance and does not appear to be a good representation of the restaurant. I would suggest scrolling through the photos to find the lobster.roll or seafood platter which are more visually satisfying.

After 2 years in Oregon with no whole belly fried clams I had to make my stop. The inside is decorated with Boston sports teams. I started with a bowl of clam chowder which is one of the best in town. Then I got the medium fried whole belly clams. Which I enjoyed, wish the bellies was bigger but they still tasted good. The service was very friendly.

We have been back here a number of times since my last review as well as getting take out a few times and it is always fantastic. I figure it is about time I updated my review. I stopped in by myself for some fried shrimp the other night and it was delicious as usual.I got some of the onion rings and their slaw which were both excellent. Service was awesome too! We will keep coming back for the great food.

The seafood is fantastic. Loved getting the steamers. Just like in New England! They fly them in daily in season. I can't wait to go back!

Mix feeling about this place. This was a 2nd chance. 1st time bad service. Poor set up to order (still the same) but good food but the flavorless flaw out lobster. This time they are willing to run your credit/debit card to pay for the meal, the cashier said I could come back after eating to leave a tip. Still a bad set up. Ok THE FOOD now: Ordered Lobster roll and Whole belly fried claims with one of my sides being onion nuggets. 4 months had the nuggets, love them, it was a hunk of onion in the middle. Now I got small onion rings. I thought I got the wrong thing. But I was told nuggets are small rings and onion rings are big rings. So they changed. The whole belly fried claims were great!!! Hard to find whole belly's. Yum!! The sides are good the beans, potato salad, coleslaw. The small onion rings did taste good. My lobster roll had no flavor!!!!!! Right color of lobster right texture of lobster. It was like eating air with just no flavor whatsoever. I grew up in Maine so this was A Big Disappointment. Had ice crystals in it. They did take it off the bill since I had only two bits. So they handled it good. They need to change the way you order. If they did, they could add more tables. Tables turned equal $$$ for the compant

OK, let's start with the ordering process: When you enter there is a barrel with a stack of menus, a little queue line, and a cashier. Grab a menu and get in line. You have to order before you are seated. (To quote Captain Widdershins, "He (or she) who hesitates is lost.") Don't hesitate. Even if you don't know what you want yet, get in that line. (It may be good advice to look at the menu online ahead of time so you know what you want.) Ordering is not fast, and I'm not sure I like this method at all, but it is all worth it once you are seated. The service is fast and everyone is very attentive. We never had to wait for a drink refill and salads and appetizers started arriving at our table right away. That was great. We had stuffed mushrooms, which were excellent. Real crab, but not too crabby. We also ordered the steamed clams, which were yummy. My husband ordered the lobster bisque (or was it a crab bisque?), either way, it had notable large chunks of whatever seafood it was in it. I ordered fried clams because they are my favorite seafood thing ever, and naturally I was very happy. My daughter had the crab legs kids meal which was a pretty sizable portion for a kid. My son made the fatal error of ordering fried scallops and onion nuggets. The problem with that combo is that it is hard to distinguish a fried scallop from a fried onion nugget, and so his meal was full of surprises. I'm sure next time he will go with rings. Overall, we were quite pleased. The ordering process is the only negative here. I would have like to try the Boston cream pie or the key lime pie, but I wasn't sure about ordering them before I ate, so I didn't. We also thought it was odd to have to add the tip to your receipt before your meal, so I would suggest bringing cash for the tip. (And yes, I totally quoted Lemony Snicket book.)

Wow, just wow. I used yelp to find something new by the office and was sure glad I stopped by here. The lobster bisque was to die for -- guess I haven't really lived since that was probably the best bisque I have ever had. The lobster roll was very delicious - the meat was perfectly cooked (usually when I eat lobster, it's over cooked). The place gets packed quick and for good and obvious reasons, so be patient for delicious food awaits you!

I was introduced to Boston's Fish House by some friends who know my standards. It's true, first timers will feel out of place. You'll wait in a line that doesn't feel like it's moving. It's worth it. The menu isn't pretty, and the food presentation is just okay, but the taste and quality is there. The service makes you feel like you're in a small town -- it's exceptional. The staff are on-top of every need you have -- as my friends reminded me of my high standards. They seem to have things down to a science. Typically with fast-casual restaurants, I avoid appetizers because they usually come out with the food. They actually pace your experience. Drinks, appetizers, then entrees. Try the food without sauces first. The fried shrimp and fish breading is very light and airy. Then add on their signature tarter and/or cocktail sauces, and enjoy. We ordered the fried pickles to share, my friends thought they were really good, though I felt the batter wasn't adhering to the pickles well enough and they were a tad too salty. Neither which stopped me from eating them though. BIG Portions -- Lunch is enough for a hungry man's dinner, and 2 people could easily share a dinner portion with some to spare. Every time I've been, I've noticed the crowd is typically older (55+), with a few younger folks here and there. Sometimes I find it refreshing as fewer younger folks typically means cleaner language and behaved children (if any). I'm 31. Some minor decor changes might make things pop better -- flooring (peal and stick laminate perhaps) and seat/booth cushions. While most of the staff don't wear matching attire, or aprons, they're easily spotted -- if they don't spot your need before you.

Don't be in a hurry, don't expect to get away for less than $15 per person if you want to be happy. Do get the sides, they are ah-mazing! Fish is good to excellent depending on what is fresh, be sure to ask!

  • Bryony B.

The food was good - they have most fried items you can think of. However, there is always a line - it does move quickly. Once you get to the front of the line you order your food and get sat at a table - then they deliver it to you. I guess I just didn't really like the feel of the place - crowded and common. Also, most of the clientele is older.

There is a line out the door for a reason. When food is this good, people wait. First timers will feel awkward at first, waiting in the staggered line, ordering, and then taking a seat. However the staff is very friendly and will guide you through it all. If you're in a hurry, go somewhere else, but you're missing out. Lobster bisque is wonderful, and broiled/fried Seafood Platter can easily feed two. In fact, I highly recommend doing so. Large portions, but it's not all about quantity, the quality of the food is what your here for, and it is delicious. I would have easily gave this place 4 stars, but it dropped one star because there is way too much Boston paraphernalia in the dinning area. I know, i know... Boston is in the restaurants name. Luckily the food is so good you won't care too much about the decor

The BEST New England seafood around!!! I have had the Lobster Roll, Steamers, Clams, oysters, fish, chowder.... All just delicious !

This was our first time at the Boston Fish House and we didn't know you have to order before they seat you. So if you go there for the first time----order right away. We were with a group of 8 and after we finally got with the program , we had a delicious lunch. I was really disappointed that they were out of lobster meat so my first option---a lobster roll was not available---bummer. I started with the lobster soup and it was good, maybe it could have been a little spicier, but good. Then I got the Mahi tacos and they were excellent. My wife had the salmon and it too was very good. Some others in our group got the clam chowder and loved it. I think everything on the menu must be good. We'll go back!!!

Coming from long island, I can appreciate a good plate of fried fish, or a swordfish steak and mussels, you name it, I grew up eating New England seafood. We had this place bookmarked for a while, but were nervous it would be expensive. It wasn't at all though if you're getting a basket, and there is more than enough food for one person. Fries and onion rings are very good and the mac n cheese was also good. Baskets come with 2 sides and vary based on the fish choice. Catfish was 7 and change, cod 9 and change, both were good but I prefer my fish a little more well done, not that it wasn't fully cooked. A quick note is that the fish here isn't so much southern style. Take the catfish, it's not what you'd get at a southern bbq joint, but it's still good. Also, their tartar sauce is awesome, will be coming back.

Before my yelping days I use to frequent this establishment a lot because their seafood was always fresh and delicious; bracing myself for the line that was sometimes out the door. The same still applies today given my recent visit, the only visible change I was able to quickly pick up on is that the wait staff doesn't seem as attentive as they once were. You'd be there waiting for your meal and it seemed like every five minutes someone would walk by and ask: "Everything ok? Need a refill?" To the point where it almost got annoying! This last visit however I had to flag someone down to get a refill. I have to disagree with some of my fellow yelpers when they say that unless its fried, it's tasteless here. They can cook your choice of protein almost any which way ranging from broiled, blackened, even in buttery ritz cracker crumble topping (which is delicious btw). My mom had grilled terriyaki salmon and it was very flavorful. When you consider the lineup available here in Orlando in terms of seafood, this is one of the better options given that the seafood is fresh, they have a good variety, it tastes good, and they're generous with their portions.

This place has a aunthentic feel to me like a old restaurant like Cracker Barrel if you know what I mean by that anyway, the line was pretty long but they were getting it right quickly they also listen hello? They also ask if you want your food extra crispy or regular if anybody stumbles upon this place I recommend going here if you want good service and great quality food

If you want a good New England seafood meal but don't feel like hopping on three hour flight, Boston's Fish House is the spot. Authentic New England seafood, huge portions, a homey atmosphere (littered with Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics decorations), and very friendly owners and staff members. Be mindful that they close mid-afternoon to clean the fryers, and also that a line congregates out front before they reopen. My first priority is a bowl of clam chowder (as good or better than any I've ever had). I usually rotate through different entrees, depending if I prefer something baked to something fried, but I've never been disappointed in my choice. I also highly recommend walking across the parking lot to Jeremiah's for dessert.

Fry it and they will come. Boston's Fish House is much better than two star if you are a fried seafood aficionado. My party had already picked this place to eat and my vegan plant based ways were very challenged. The large garden salad was edible but uninspired. The cocktail sauce I dipped french fries into earned a star. Not much else to add.

I've tried a lot of sea food and this was by FAR the best I've ever tasted. I had the salmon kabobs. The portion was generous and the taste was phenomenal. I got to taste my husbands clam chowder and it was amazing as well. Our bill was just under 60 for the 2 of us before tip but it was truly worth every penny! I'll definitely come back to this place!

Great food. I've been coming here for years. They offer authentic Boston style seafood. Great quality and friendly staff make for an excellent experience every time. It is a little pricey, but like I said, it is matched with quality seafood.

I cannot stress enough how good the clam chowder is here, I got the fried shrimp sandwich with onion nuggets and veggie medley. I dipped the onion nuggets in the chowder, perfection in comfort food. The sandwich was plain on it's own but after adding tartar and hot sauce it was awesome, only complaint was the tails left on...I ate a few before I noticed :/ All in all it was lovely and I think next time I go back I'll have to try the grouper sandwich or fish tacos! New seafood spot!

Fried seafood? Definitely a bad decision for me but a pretty good decision for my taste buds. I wanted to try the chowder and biscuits (going off the tips on yelp) but they ran out of biscuits (at 2PM?) so I guess I'll have to try em' nice time. I shared a full seafood platter with my cousin and we didn't even eat all of it because of how much food it was. It was definitely really good and they have an assortment of sauces to try (cocktail, ketchup, hot sauce, tartar) with it. I will probably try the broiled versions next time. And yeah there will be a next time! Something about the decor here that kinda bores me. (Am I allowed to rate decor?) And the overall serving experience is kind of awkward. You sort of walk through a maze similiar to a fair ride (I'm guessing it's to mimic a dock) to place your order and you pick up a menu off of a barrel. You pay first and then sit down. But then you have a waiter/waitress so I suppose you leave your tip on the table afterwards? I mean you're not going to tip before you eat, right? There's also the abundance of new england sports decor hanging on the wall, in any kind of way but all really bland. If the weather is nice, eat outside. If you are in the area and want seafood, this is your spot plus the staff is very nice. If you're an interior designer, holla at these folks. Those prices need a well decorated restaurant.

Took my friend to eat on Tuesday, December 9th 2014. my friend won't stop talking about this place. First off I've never paid in advance unless I was at a buffet. Second it was a little out of our way, which was no big deal but it might have been worth the trip. It wasn't. Their difference between coconut shrimp and regular fried shrimp is nothing. Their difference between a roll and the garlic bread is nothing. It was busy with regular customers I'm sure. One more thing the absolute worst onion rings ever. (Same as long johns silvers but less) my last complaint is the price, twice as much as I would expect. I won't be returning. if I want the same food I went for last time I'll just go to the corner bar, they also have fried chicken wings fried shrimp and fried other things for half the price!

I have been going to Boston Fish House for many years. It is always consistent and excellent. The steamers are amazing and I always get the seafood platter with whole belly clams. The cole slaw and baked beans are spot on. The onion rings are amazing. I usually don't care for onion rings but these I can't pass up. Yes you will wait 8n line most nights but it is well worth the wait.

Oh, Lobster roll from Boston's Fish House, how I love you!! $15 gets you a nice sized lobster roll with two sides. They offer the lobster on a choice of buttered and toasted split top or a regular sub roll. Go traditional, the buttered and toasted split tops are great. Big sweet chunks of Main lobster fill this sandwich. Fresh and sweet, lightly dressed with mayo and nothing else. (No chopped up celery or other fillers!) I like to give it a squeeze of fresh lemon, which they are happy to provide. Best Lobster roll in town. Great to dine in or take out. Staff is always very friendly, orders taken over the phone are checked and packaged well.

As we are from New England, we were looking forward to trying Boston's Fish House. Arrived just before 5 on a Saturday. The place was packed which is typically a good sign for a restaurant. An older crowd appeared to make up a majority of the patrons. A plus side is that they have a large menu with a variety of seafood choices. We shared a bowl of clam chowder, whole belly fried clams, a lobster roll with onion nuggets and mac n' cheese for sides; a total of $45. The clam chowder was a bland, potatoey-mush, and tasted as though it had been sitting all day. The lobster in the lobster roll was still frozen in the middle. As somewhat of a mac n' cheese fanatic, I was disappointed in the taste and quality and didn't even finish a cup. The fried clams and onion rings were standard fried food. Overall, not a place we'll frequent.

So the food can take a while to get to your table but IT IS SO GOOD. We haven't ever ordered anything different so I can't share a variety of good foods, but the grilled salmon skewers on a bed of seasoned rice is pricey but worth it so very much! Can be shared with two people!

Absolutely a taste of New England.! Always fresh. The close an hour a day every day to change the oil in the fryers. Even if your not from NE you will not be disappointed. If you go during prime time you will have a wait , however dont let that scare you . It moves fast and its well worth the wait.

We went for dinner and the food was amazing. Be ready to order because you order before being seated. Great idea because they cook while you wait to be seated. The service was amazing and I found the prices reasonable. I am really picky about seafood and their stuffed flounder was the best I have had in years. Def my new seafood place from here on out. Really glad we went. The fried shrimp were amazing too.

The food is decent but only if you don't mind the poor customer service and the blatant ignorance of whoever runs this place. You order your food before you sit down and if you order the platter it's either broiled or fried. This place is ass-backwards, and I honestly don't know if I'll be coming back since the customer experience is just plain awful.

Here once again!! The seafood is never a disappointment. The fried oysters are a pillow if goodness. They are flavorful and cooked just right. The shrimp are big and succulent. The cole slaw is creamy and really tasty. Needless to say this is a fried seafood haven!!!

This place has good food, I'll give them that. I had never been there before and walking in to a cattle line, and after waiting to be seated at the end of the line a disinterested guy asked what we wanted to order. We have never been to the restaurant and had no clue. He took our order which we felt rushed to do..as there is a line behind us. Then we pay and stand there and I ask the guy, do we seat ourselves? He said someone will seat you soon. We make it to a table next to the trash and the waiters supply and wait 30 plus minutes for out food. This part I understand it's fresh cooked. There was one refill that we had to stop someone passing by to request. I think long john silvers probably would have better service. I really wish I had not tipped based on the reviews because this place...only has customers because it has good food. I would not return to have a nice meal. I would just come back if I wanted seafood and there was no where else to go...the food is not worth the price of crappy service.

Delicious! I don't eat fish, but my wonderful hubby always takes me to places that are non-fish places so i like to make sure we go to fish places for him. He heard about this place from a friend and was not disappointing, even for me! Yes, there is a wait. It's worth it, trust me. I had the chicken tenders...which were not your usual "strips"..they were more like medallions and were breaded perfectly and fried just so. I had the broccoli salad with them which was super wonderful. My husband had a combo platter with scallops, a white fish, and shrimp. He said it was all amazing. He also got fried clams that were the "best i have ever had" (and trust me, that says a lot..he's been eating seafood his whole life!). He also had the clam chowder and was blown away by it. Also, their onion rings are incredible. I would recommend this place highly...even as someone who doesn't eat seafood!

Current holder of my "best lobster roll in town" award, and many thanks to the Yelp community for calling my attention to this one! First, the restaurant itself, at least at the Aloma location, has an interesting setup. If you want to dine in, you order and pay, then sit; if you prefer to dine outside, you order and pay at the takeout window. I prefer the latter unless it's blazing hot out. A medium-sized selection of beers are available and reasonably priced. Next, the lobster roll. $12.95 seems a downright bargain for a roll of this size, especially since it comes with two sides. I like the fries (duh, lobster roll without fries is blasphemy) and macaroni and cheese. The roll itself offers a ton of quality chunks of lobster on a nice buttery bun - and neither the mayo nor veggie components are overdone. You can absolutely taste the freshness of the lobstah - because they don't really lay on the seasoning. After my first visit, I decided I might as well bring my own seasoning and tucked a mini Penzey's Bangkok Blend into my purse before leaving the house (I should do this all the time, seriously). Old Bay wouldn't be bad either, and that seems like the kind of thing they should be able to provide if you ask, though I've not tried. I want to give the roll 4.5 stars, but my overall rating for the place has to be lowered due to the fact that the other items we've tried are just okay - 2 or 3 star caliber. The cajun seasoned scallops, again, weren't anywhere near as seasoned as I expected, just a plate of monochromatic orangish fare. As another reviewer mentioned, they do attract an older clientele so maybe if you want seriously spicy food you have to ask for it.

This place is great. The wait isnt the best, and the crowd is a bit older, but the food is amazing. Lobster roll is on point, and any platter is worth the money. I wish there were colder days here to fully enjoy the chowder, but it was great.

This is my second time here. The food is excellent. There aren't many seafood places on the east side of Orlando and I've eaten in most of them. But this place is the best. Service is good, the facilities are clean, and prices are appropriate for the atmosphere, quality (top notch), and quantity.

I feel like an absolute schmuck spending this much money on what I feel like was just a step above Long John Silvers. I now see why they want you to pay first. I had an uneasy feeling right off when they stated that we pay first. I like to see a few other customer plates come out before I decide on something. Mussels came out first with 2 small breadsticks. They were ok, just not as fresh as they claimed. We asked for more breadsticks....20 min later our food comes out. Still no breadsticks. We asked for a plate of lemons, they brought 4 lemon quarters...followed by the breadsticks for our now chilled mussels. The scallops were not fresh and overcooked at that. I literally had a $7.99 handfull of seafood and $15 worth of onion rings and fries with my side of mushed zucchini and squash. The 5 servers that were "all here took take care of you" ignored the four frowning face and uneaten food that we did not want carryout boxes for. We won't even talk about the items that were left out of my husbands meals. On a positive note, the food wasn't too salty or overly breaded and the Stella cider was delicious!

Great service, delicious food, huge portions, and easy to find. I like ordering at the counter first and then they come and bring out the food. We had the fried zucchini for an appetizer (they were awesome). My mom and I had the chicken sandwich with fries and onion rings and my dad had the fried shrimp with fries and onion rings. My mom and I should have shared a plate because it was HUGE! But the food was incredible. We will definitely be coming back when we are in town again!!

Fresh seafood appears to be hard to come by in Orlando.....which is effing ridiculous mind you. I found this place recently and while I was not wowed but I did leave happy. My only regret was having ordered the ipswich steamers which are NOT like the Rhode Island littleneck clams I was thinking of---an error on my part. I also had the friend shrimp dinner that was perfect. I was also the only person not employed by the restaurant that was under 75 years young. At the end of the day, I really could care less who is an AARP member so long as the food is good and the prices reasnable (which they are). I think I'll come back and give this place another try. ETA: I came back and gave the joint another try. I had the broiled shrimp (it seems like every damn thing on the menu is fried, fried, fried) and while they were fresh they were completely devoid of flavor. Sorry, but throwing a buttery, greasy heap of crush ritz crackers on top of the shrimp does not suffice for flavor. In fact it grossed me out. I had the NE chowder which wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. On second thought....I think I'll skip this place from now on.

The Boston Fish House, Has great Fried Clam strips baskets, also their Fried Shrimp Baskets are wonderful..... All Seafood we've had is very fresh, serviced hot and fast.....Comfortable surrounding...plus they do have some local beers and wines. You will find allot of bistro type seating in front which is covered...You also, have booth and table seating inside......along with several TVs available. The only draw back is ordering.....during HIGH hour is very slow...but it is worth the wait. P.S. They do have orders for pickup......:-)

I had to give this place a one star. I went in super excited about lobster bisque and lobster rolls. The bisque tasted like it was out of a can. I asked for a warm roll, but the young host advised that "we threw then out or something." So, I ordered a chilled roll. I only took one bite. My fries weren't bad. For $50 for two, I would rather order two extra large pizzas! I will never go back, nor would I ever recommend....

Good place to have lunch. casual dining atmosphere, nothing fancy but you can expect fresh fish here. The staff seems to be very friendly and helpful. I ordered fried cod basket with fires and came out fast and hot. Their fries are always super hot which i LOVE!! Overall, I was satisfied and would recommend this place!

I didn't want to give this place 2 stars so I bumped it up to 3. First off the only local fish they serve is mahi mahi. I know it's supposed to be Boston Fish House, but we're in Florida. I'm having a really hard time finding quality fish in Orlando, and its barely 50 miles from here. Fried mushrooms appetizer, 5 star. The coating had tyme and some other spice, served with ranch and asiago cheese sauce. I ordered Cajun mahi mahi, bad choice. Cajun spices too salty, too much, and the fish was broiled too long. I never usually eat tarter and had to have it to finish my meal. Mac and cheese side, cheesy like a box, maybe velveta. Husband liked it because it wasn't dried out. I would rather have seen homemade Mac and cheese. It's easy and not that expensive for the price of the meal. Green beans, excellent. They were fresh green/yellow beans and slivers of carrot. It's totally surprised me, because they weren't frozen or canned. Husband had fried pollock, he liked it, but nothing really special. No bread or hush puppies were served with our meal. They close for half hour to filter the oil, I guess that's a good thing, the restaurant was clean. You order and pay upon entering, then sit down and a person brings your drinks and food. I'm not really sure if you had a dedicated service person because numerous people help you. Decor is dated, they have early bird specials 4-5:30. I wouldn't be in any hurry to return.

New owners have problems. Why is it that new owners always want to change a wonderful restaurant. The menu has changed and is more expensive. No more "baskets". All new staff including cooks. Shrimp was overcooked and smaller. Haddock was a small serving also over breaded and over cooked. Even my favorite onion nuggets were over cooked. No more apple sauce. It's now strawberry apple sauce. The Mac and cheese was made with velveta and was bland. The new owner was friendly but has no clue of how to run a seafood restaurant. What a disappointment. Chef Lars rated 2star and $$$.

One of the great delights of growing up in Boston was the fresh seafood. Especially the fried clams. The Clams of New england are like none to be found anywhere else. Boston Fish House has fresh seafood flown in several times per week and they cook it up New England style. The lines can be long and you may have to wait for a table, but the food is outstanding and worth the wait. I've seen some reviewers complain about prices, but this is seafood that is flown in fresh from Boston several times per week. (as a side note, I work from an airline and I personally see the boxes of fresh seafood from Ipswich being offloaded all the time, so they aren't lying about the freshness) and the prices are very fair. Hand me a paper plate full of whole belly clams, onion rings, and a big cup of root beer and I feel like I'm on Cape Cod again.

This is my dad's favorite place. I come about once a year with him- since I don't eat seafood. I order the fried chicken every time. It's good. The onion rings drive me crazy- they are made perfectly except there's no salt. And anyone who loves onion rings knows- salt doesn't stick after awhile unless they are greasy. These are not greasy, so the salt doesn't stick! My dad loves the scallops. Broccoli salad is too sweet. The pumpkin pie was decent. I'm pretty sure at age 42 I brought the average age of patron down to 95! Food is plentiful, staff is great, prices are reasonable. Apparently if you love seafood- you should try it!

I have to give this place one star because my boyfriend got sick after eating the Mahi Mahi tacos. My original score was three stars. The appetizers are good. I had the lobster bisque and the crab stuffed mushrooms. Both items were really good. Then came the main dishes. I ordered the seafood sampler and my boyfriend the Mahi tacos. The sampler was ok. Not greasy but the batter didn't really wow me. The seafood pieces were also really small,so all i was able to taste was the batter.nThe Mahi...well you can imagine. We are not coming back. First, everything is fried. I don't get why restaurants fry seafood. One or two dishes is ok, but 80% of their menu is fried. Frying stuff just destroys the flavor. Second, my boyfriend got sick after eating the Mahi, so that tells me that they didn't cook something right. Too bad. I was really looking forward to a nice seafood restaurant.

Based on reviews from other Yelpers I so wanted to like this place. Of course I had to try their lobsta roll. It was excellent. The onion rings were perfectly battered. The cole slaw was too sweet. My friend got sick to her stomach from something she bit into in her clam steamers. She's from Massachusets and knows her seafood. Our server did swap her steamers out with scallops but with a look of derision on her face. One of the other guy servers gave us a snooty gay attitude. I don't care about your sexuality; don't be a snot. The other strike against them was the musty smell in the restaurant. Maybe they need the AC ducts cleaned, but it shouldn't smell like that. So despite the deliciousness of the lobster roll and crispy onion rings, the musty smell, snooty service and my friend's bad bowl of steamers makes me hesitant to go back.

Boston's Fish House has some of the best seafood I've ever had. Judging by the crowds that are present almost every night of the week, I am not the only one that feels that way! Boston's is a family run business and has been around for over 20 years. The owner takes great pride in his business and ensures that only the best seafood is served! The seafood is shipped in fresh daily from New England. Boston's closes daily from 3:25-4:00pm to change out their cooking oil. This just shows how much they care about their quality. If you go in for dinner, you know that your seafood is not only fresh, but also cooked in fresh and clean oil. I am a huge fan of pretty much everything they serve, but there are a few things that must be tried. First off, their Coconut Shrimp is absolutely heavenly. The shrimp are luscious and juicy and never overcooked. The coconut batter is tasty but not overwhelming, so you can still taste the sweetness of the shrimp. They serve it with a delicious pineapple "salsa" that is great to dip them in. Another highlight is their calamari! Amazing! Their clam chowder is also to die for. If you want seafood - don't even bother going anywhere else. Head straight to Boston's and find out why this local business is still around after all these years!

Overall: Not a bad seafood joint. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place to get our seafood fix. Like others have mentioned, you order first then get seated. I ordered the Mahi Mahi fish taco special and my boyfriend got the fried Mini Seafood Platter. I was delighted to see they serve Sprite Zero. I love that stuff! My fish tacos were OK, but I was not expecting them to be covered in cheese. My two tacos each had a big piece of grilled Mahi with lettuce, tomato, and melted cheese on top. What sold me on the tacos was the mango salsa in the description, but it came with a small plastic container of canned salsa. Eh, I was expecting more. My boyfriend's fried feast was pretty big, but just tasted alright. I think they could use some more spices, salt, and pepper in the frying batter because the taste was lackluster. Yes, we got tartar sauce and hot sauce on the side, but I felt the batter should have some flavor to it too. The onion rings were great though.

Boston's has amazing lobster bisque. Everything else is typically fried, so it's hard to find something healthy (or in my case, gluten-free). I ordered an entree salad the last time I was there, and it was a very plain, unappetizing dish that resembled a side-salad with 4 oz. of grilled fish plopped on top. Unless you go for the bisque, try elsewhere. Winter Park has much better food than this place!

  • Lisa B.

Not too impressed. They were out of the baked stuffed mushrooms, so we got the fried mushrooms. They were just ok. The onion rings were too thin and all I could taste was breading. The green beans were very bland. The lobstah roll was ok, but I thought the lobster could have been chopped up into smaller pieces. My boyfriend got the teriyaki salmon salad and thought it was just okay. Probably not going to rush back, but I would probably try the broiled fish or shrimp next time.

My wife and Have spent the last four months in the Winter Park /Orlando area and we eat out everyday. After trying many of the areas different venues we have continually returned to the Boston Fish House. The Cracker Crumb Cod is unequalled. And the clam strips exceptional. We found out that they prepare everything from scratch in house. If in the area a must try if you enjoy seafood.......

It's in a hidden strip mall that we never knew it was there! When you walk you wait in line to order your food then you are seated. The staff constantly stopped to make sure our drinks were full and that our food was good. The food was AMAZING and large portians. I'm not a huge seafood fan and I loved the Haddok fish.

This is the best seafood restaurant in Orlando, if you are just judging food. They have a unique order style... you wait in line to place your order, then get seated, to find your food arrives hot, fresh, cooked to perfection, every time. I know because Boston's has been our favorite spot for seafood for 17 years..... yep that is right, 17 years and we still love it. Never disappointed. And we travel 45 minutes to get there. Its great food, served by friendly people, prices are reasonable, quantity is huge, atmosphere is o.k, not great, but who cares when the food arrives is all smiles. I love it..... You will too !

With all my hours spent watching the Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and The Food Network, the Lobster Roll is a sandwich that has always looked fantastic when described on any one of these shows. With that marvelous site of abundant lobster meat busting out of a NE style hot dog bun, I've been craving the sandwich for a while. Since I'm no where near the state of Maine, where the Lobster Roll originates, I began my pursuit to find the closest thing to the real deal here in Orlando. It came down to CityFish, Winter Park Fish Co. and Boston's Fish House. The reviews I read for the Lobster Roll at CityFish didn't look encouraging at all. The Lobster Roll reviews I've come across for Winter Park Fish Co. were bi-polar. Boston's Fish House looked the most promising since they actually have their Lobster's flown in weekly from Maine, have appetizing pictures of the roll on Yelp and from what I've seen, all great reviews. So Boston's it was. We arrived with a party of 8 and perused the menu, paid first and then were seated. Everyone got their own meals but we decided to get their Boston's Seafood Combo Platter. Codfish, Sea Scallop, Shrimp, Onion Rings and Oyster all fried. This was a mistake, as I preferred the platter broiled. But I didn't have a choice in the matter. Majority rule. When the heaping pile of fried seafood hit our table, we all dug in. To me, I couldn't differentiate flavors between the 4 different pieces of seafood on the platter because they were all fried. They all tasted like fish fry. I could have gone to Captain D's or Long John Silvers for this! From this point forward, I'm convinced that it is a SIN to fry seafood. Breading seafood, then deep frying it in oil zaps all the natural flavor and essence. Mahi Tacos, Mahi Sandwich, Salmon, Fish and Chips, Lobster Bisque and fried Catfish were also ordered in addition to my Lobster Roll. Both the Mahi dishes were delicious with flavor since the Mahi was broiled. The Salmon was also delicious. The Fish and Chips, and Catfish were fried, so there's nothing to report there. Again, think Captain D's. The Lobster Bisque was a disappointment. Although it had a couple of nice chunks of what looked like leg or claw meat, the soup overall was underwhelming. We've certainly had better. We should have gone with their Clam Chowder. I've read and have been told it's a legitimate NE Clam Chowder in texture, ingredients and flavor. Now the Lobster Roll! Right away I can say I'm a fan of the sandwich. I really wish I had 2 of them that night. There was an abundance of Lobster that looked like it included tail, claw and leg meat. It wasn't heavily mayonnaised, but just enough to hold all the meat chunks together on the NE style, butter toasted roll. At the bottom of the roll and under the Lobster meat was a bed of fresh shredded lettuce. Lobstery. creamy, crispy, buttery, toasty, fantastic. With that said, I do think it could have been approved upon in 3 different ways. 1: I expected the roll to be slightly bigger. But for the price of $12.95, compared to the norm of $20.00 to $25.00 for a roll, the size met the price. I wish there was an option to get 2 rolls or 1 big roll for $20.00. 2: Instead of using lettuce, they could use bits of celery. This way the sandwich gets more crunch and added texture. 3: The top of the lobster meat could have been dusted with cayenne or paprika just to add a little zip and offset the tang of the mayo. But again, as is, I personally enjoyed the Lobster Roll very much. Overall, the experience was pleasant. I'm rating my experience a 3 out of 5. I badly want to give Boston's Fish House a 4 out of 5 but there are a couple of reasons for the 3 star rating. The fried seafood ordered all around me tasted the SAME. I realized I shouldn't take points off because everyone around me so happened to get fish fry, but at least add some FLAVOR to the fry. Seasoning, a different batter.. something. The Lobster Bisque was disappointing and even though the Mahi dishes and Salmon were tasty, they were nothing out of the ordinary. Lastly, most of the entrees and sandwiches come with 2 sides. Unfortunately, none of the 14 different side options are healthy. We thought getting a side of broccoli and green beans would be a nice alternative to french fries, or onion rings. Wrong. Their sides of veggies are mixed in with mayonnaise and candied bacon! So needless to say, it's difficult to be a discerning eater here. With all that said, I'd come back for the Lobster Roll and attentive service. Not much else stood out enough that I couldn't get at CityFish or any other seafood faring restaurant closer to me.

DELICIOUS! The operation is a little unconventional (you order and pay at the hostess podium then sit down for your meal)! The open lobster sandwich was juicy and rich! The highlight was the steamers! You can't find them anywhere and sometimes Boston's Fish House runs out. Call before you go just to make sure. The portions are huge! The seafood is fresh and yummy! Take out is really good too!

There is a hustle and bustle to the kitchen; behind the revolving kitchen doors, waiters keep coming out with more and more mountainous trays of fried and broiled seafood offerings to quell the restaurant patrons' inconceivably beckoning appetites. For our entrees, I order the Seafood Dinner Platter ($21.95) which came with fried sea scallops, cod fish, coconut maine shrimp, clams and onion rings with a side of potato salad and coleslaw. The platter was a fried formidable feat to finish. I particularly enjoyed the fried onion rings which were surprisingly light compared to my past experiences with the side, the coconut maine shrimp which came with a sweet pineapple dipping sauce, and the lusciously plump sea scallops. The cod fish and clams were just okay. The accompanying cole slaw was fresh and tasty but I did not care much for their potato salad. visit my blogooo tastychomps.blogspot.com… for more on the review Overall I enjoyed the place especially if you are looking for fried seafood done right.

Went for the first time. Way too expensive for the portions. Got the Lobster roll, good lobster meat on a 4" hotdog bun. Wife got a shrimp roll and it was served with the tails still on the shrimp! Overall, was worth a try but will not make a return trip.

The location of this place is not very good. A strip mall, wow. The food is at best average. I would rather drive another 15 minutes and get awesome seafood. I will never eat there again. The service was ok and the decor was like a flea market. License plates on the wall, no thank. Save your money and your health. Fried seafood galore. It's like a high end long johns silver.

2 stars if your under 65 years old. 5 stars otherwise. I dare you to locate a single item on their menu that contains even the slightest 'crunch' when put into your mouth. This is mushy, unseasoned food meant solely for the retirement crowd. Don't believe me? Simply enter this restaurant at any time during their business hours and take a look around, you will find only a handful of people under the age of 55. That being said, I'm glad a place like this exists for all the grandfolks out there. You don't see Morrison's and other elderly geared places like this anymore. But the fact that this place gets such high ratings on Yelp speaks VOLUMES about the culinary choices in Central Florida.

A great locally owned stop for seafood. Expect to spend between $12-25 person. The fried dishes are really well done. The food is always hot and fresh. The portions are huge and the Lunch Entrees should suffice for most men. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking the shore. I come from a Gulf Coast town and have high standards for seafood establishments.

It's not fancy, but the food is good! My boyfriend and I come here all the time and we pretty much always go for the same thing: stuffed mushrooms, house salads, and the combo platter, broiled. Definitely go for the whole belly clams if you get the platter--they come fried, even if you get the broiled platter, and they're delicious. We've always experienced a friendly staff and we feel like we get a lot for what we pay.

It's just the best. Where else can you get such delicious fresh fried seafood that isn't greasy? And all the sides are fresh and delicious as well. Our daughter often gets seafood broiled and is equally satisfied with her food and sides. LOVE THIS PLACE. It's one of our favorites and we visit frequently! AND THE ONION RINGS ARE TO DIE FOR!!!

I've been eating at Boston's since I was a kid -- and it just keeps getting better. I've never been disappointed here. While many swear by the fish and chips (my dad included), I recommend you try the teriyaki salmon kabobs if you want a change of pace. They are amazing. Also, start your meal with the zucchini sticks.

I've been going to BFH for many years. The seafood is good, especially with the cracker crumbs. I try to eat healthy here because everything is fried or broiled. They do have salads, many side items, and delicious stuffed mushrooms! Can get pricey.

Wife & I tried for 1st time and were not disappointed. An $8 pint of Lobster Bisque was big enough to share; contained succulent pieces Maine Lobster. Don't be misguided. There are almost as many "broiled" entrees available as "fried". My Haddock was very fresh and delicous broiled in garlic & white wine. Side(s) of baked beans was OK, Macaroni & Cheese OK. Their "small" side of salad, for $2.50 was a real bargain. Almost enough for two; FRESH! A Cajun Style Cooked Shrimp Garden Salad Entree contained a large amount of shrimp. Everything about the salad SPELLED fresh. The croutons and homemade dressing were good. Two accompaning garlic type rolls were delicous! We wound up taking home generous size home-made Boston Cream Pie and Strawberry Shortcake, thoughtfully packaged into separate take-out containers instead of just being thrown into one container. Both desserts were very good and very resonably priced. I think the trick in visiting these overly popular restaurants is to go late and that way you don't have to wait long - - if at all. Like others here, I really didn't understand about the "pay in advance" feature. I quess with the outdoor patio someone on the bum could make a dash for the street between the coffee & dessert, though it seems that with this system - presently - that the waitresses wind up being the losers as they seem to do everything expect take the order; but no provision at the end for card-holders to leave a tip as card is closed out. The staff at this restaurant were all found to be highly personable and very friendly. I will definitely be back, its a great place to go to.

First off, let me justify my 5 star review....I love fried food/seafood. With that being said, Boston's does fried seafood right. The food is fresh, lightly breaded and golden fried. The portions are very generous and the price is just right. If you like clam chowder, it is a must have when you go in, it really is top notch. There aren't many quality seafood places in Orlando, but this is one. Unfortunately for me, its all the way across town, but I try to make the trip whenever possible. Boston's is quite popular with the local populace (damn old people holding up my line! haha), but thats because they know what Boston's is all about. Highly recommended

We stopped in last night for a late dinner at the Aloma location. I've been going here for a very long time, but was surprised last night to find out that the only fish they had available was mahi-mahi and salmon. My husband ended up choosing the mahi-mahi and declared it was just so-so. It looked quite odd as it was a fried square of fish with odd rippling in the surface, not sure what that was about. I always order the fried shrimp. Last night was definitely a bad night for them because as I bit into the shrimp, the batter fell off because it wasn't cooked properly. A miserable experience when I was expecting a spot on fried shrimp experience like I've always had. The green beans weren't available, and I ended up with mac and cheese and applesauce. The applesauce was not cold and the mac and cheese was not hot. The interior is "quaint" and the same interior as always, but it's becoming quite dated and needs a good coat of paint and clean up. I'm hoping what we experienced last night wasn't the final moments of a declining business since it has been an institution in the marketplace for so long.

I like this place when I'm in the mood for a fried platter. Fried Fish, French Fries, hush puppies, they have a lot of fried food, They can blacken the fish, but it usually is mushy and doesn't have much flavor, so might as well have it fried. If you want a nice seafood place, go somewhere else. This is a family kinda place. The lobster bisque they have is pretty good. This place is good, but if you're looking for a nicer seafood joint go somewhere else. Here, you order at the front, and they'll bring the food out to you. Oh, and if you're thinking about going for an early dinner, call a head-they have weird hours. They usually also close for a whole week during a holiday (Memorial day, they were closed for the whole week), so call ahead if it's around a holiday to make sure they are open.

If you don't like fried seafood - don't go. When I went you ate on styrofoam plates with little plastic forks and the service was not all that great... I have heard that they started using real silverware now...But that won't save your arteries.

When i was first brought to this place, I was not a seafood eater. Period. I am not sure at what point I started to really enjoy seafood, but I will always remember that Boston's Fish House has played a pivotal role in getting me to enjoy the delights of the sea. First, a warning to all: they close mid-way through the day to change the oil and if its the weekend, your probably going to have to wait. It's just that good. But trust me, its well worth it! My favorite item on the menu is the fried mahi-mahi sandwich. It is served on bakery fresh butter toasted roll to die for! The fish itself is enormous as well. I usually cut a piece to eat on its own! In terms of side items, I think their fries and cole slaw are just awesome. The fries are always crispy and golden-brown, but the slaw is the real winner. Finely chopped and creamy...great compliment to the sandwich. Lastly, at some point you need to try their lobster bisque. I am nowhere near an expert on lobster bisque, however I do know what a good rue tastes like...and let me tell you...these people make a mean friggin rue!!! Also has nice chunks of lobster meat! This place is a must-try in Orlando!!

In all the years that I have been eating here, the food has always been great and the place crowded, no matter what the time of day. Proof positive Boston Fish House is a great place to eat. The closest thing to Calabash style seafood in Central Florida.

This is probably the best seafood place that I have been to in Orlando. It has a very laid back atmosphere, and offers lots of outdoor seating. They have lots of lunch specials, and the quantities are huge. I got the fish and chips and onion rings. Everything was fresh, and not at all greasy. The staff was extremley friendly, and got me several refils of my drink. I can't wait to go back and try the salmon kabobs.

The people in my family are incredibly picky about their seafood, and they go to this place at least once a week. As for me: Best fried chicken and onion rings in the world! I LOVE this place: and that's saying a lot for someone who hardly eats seafood. I NEVER order fried land-lubber food in a seafood joint because it always tastes like fish! Boston's closes their restaurant once a day to filter their oil so their fried food always tastes fresh, instead of tasting like everything else that's being fried on site. Despite the claims of other reviewers, you can get absolutely ANYTHING on the menu broiled. Read the menu, guys:)...It is not all fried food! They also have other lighter options: for instance, try ordering the shrimp salad as a salad. My mom eats it two or three times a week and she is a skinny, skinny woman. And I don't mean to disrespect, but one and two-star reviews should not contain words like "perfect" and "excellent." I'm sorry that a few folks got sick, but I know plenty of people (including oyster lovers) who eat here once or more a week and have never ONCE gotten bad seafood. I do agree that the Mahi tacos are disappointing: I would have preferred lighter, crispier pieces of fish instead of a big slab smothered in cheese. But a few weak spots on a menu do not take away from how good Boston's truly is. This place should have an even BETTER average, and these weird two-star reviews that call the lobster bisque delicious are draggin' that average down. Not fair lol! This place a Winter Park institution and it rocks!

This place serves some of the best seafood I have ever had in the Orlando area! The service is fantastic, and there are a few options for anyone in your party that doesn't like seafood (but seriously why bring them anyway?) **I highly recommend getting here early, as this place starts filling up around 5 PM, especially if you go during lent!

This place reminded me of a Morrison's cafe or Piccadilly cafeteria at first with the geriatric clientele, boring decor and order here- sit there service, but I'm glad that after passing by for so long I decided to see what it was all about. After all this place has been here since I was a child (or longer), so they must be doing something right. I ordered the lobster roll, having been disappointed by the previous two I've had at other restaurants in town. I was pleasantly surprised. It was served on a lightly buttered nissin hot dog roll on top of the lettuce to keep the bread from getting soggy. The lobster salad was loaded with big sweet chunks of fresh claw and body meat and not over seasoned or over-mayoed so you could taste how fresh the meat was. No salty dead water leg meat here folks, this is the real deal. It came with a choice of two sides, I chose mac n cheese and fries, meh, as expected. My husband had a plate of fried Ipswich clams and onion nuggets. The clams were soft and livery/buttery with a big belly (like they should be, not those chewy little snot strands you find everywhere else) and were quite delicious. And I hate clams, so there's that. Overall you get your money's worth. You don't pay for atmosphere but you certainly pay for good quality food and you won't leave hungry. Try to sit outside if the weather is nice. Lobstah roll= $12.95, not $20 like most places. BONUS.

Completely overrated. The clam chowder is the worst I've ever had. The presentation of the food makes you lose your apetite. The sides that come with the main dish taste like they either come straight out of a can or the microwavable isle. The shrimp is not deveined, so you gotta be careful not to eat the colon.

As Yogi Berra once said --- "If the world was perfect, it wouldn't be". I'm not sure how that applies to this review, I just like Yogi-isms... Boston's Fish House is the bomb. If you are in the mood for fried seafood, this is the place to go. I've been eating fried seafood my entire life and this is as good as it gets (in my opinion). Be prepared because going here involves standing in a line (much longer after 5:00 PM every day) and that reminds me of another Yogi-ism --- "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded". Trust me, if you get there after 5:00 PM or so you will probably see a line snaking out the door and around the corner of the building. Your first thought will be "to heck with this, I'm not standing in a line to eat seafood", but you should recognize that this place is so good that people will actually be inconvenienced to eat there. How can that be a bad thing? Part of the reason for the line is that you stand in line and order (and pay) at the register before being seated. It sounds kind of goofy, and maybe it is, but it works at Boston's somehow. Just leave your complaints about the line in your car, suck it up and get read for the best fried seafood you will ever have. It's really that good. And remember to grab a menu as you walk in the door so you are ready to order when it's your turn. Enjoy!

I have been going to Boston's since the late 80's when they were housed in a small building (that frankly resembled a shack) down the street from the current location. In all the years that I have been going there I have NEVER had a bad meal there. Even if you aren't normally a fan of fried food this is THE place for fried food. Their batter is addictive! The fish is always fresh, the service attentive, and the portions generous. There is always a crowd at Boston's so be prepared to wait to order (you have to stand in line) and be seated. However, if you go after 7:30 the lines have usually died and you can sail right through. Boston's provides some of the best (if not the best) quality seafood in Orlando, at reasonable prices, with good service. Definitely check it out!

We stopped by for lunch on Thursday. First time here and I was surprised that it was so busy on a weekday. I had the Cajun Mahi tacos which were very good. The fish was fresh and tasty. For sides, I had mac and cheese and broccoli salad. Both were classically yummy. My companions also enjoyed their meals which included lobster bisque, crab stuffed mushrooms, fried shrimp platter, and grilled fish sandwich. The food was hot, plentiful and fresh.

For someone who doesn't eat seafood very often this place hit the spot when it came to a random craving for some fried seafood goodness. You have to wait in line seemingly forever but surviving the line full of old people is worth it. They have a sampler platter that has enough food for two people and their clam chowder is superb.

A hidden seafood gem in Orlando! All of the seafood is top-notch, the mahi, grouper, salmon, shrimp, clams-all fresh & excellent. You can't go there without trying either the N.E clam chowder or the lobster bisque..they are to-die-for. The stuffed shrimp are sweet, succulent, and also a must try.

I ate here for the first time this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. The portions are more than enough, the Lobster Bisque was VERY rich (with actual lobster in it, sad but you don't see that often). The food was served faster than we expected and it was GOOD! Not exactly sure how great the seafood is cooked any other way besides fried since that's all we had (outside of the soup) but if Fried fish, shrimp, etc. is your thing, check this place out. I loved it.

We have frequented this place for years, and always take visitors there also! And of course that's where they want to go when they return for another visit!! This is without a doubt, one of, if not the best place locally for seafood! We usually order the gulf shrimp, (which I think is now just listed as shrimp on the menu), scallops, and oysters. They are all delicious!! we prefer them all fried! The shrimp aren't shrimpy, they are a good size!! The oysters and scallops always taste fresh! The onion rings are HUGE, and they give you a boat load of them! I am partial to their potato salad, (YUM!) And one of the newer menu additions is their broccoli salad. OMG. it is killer!!! And Hubby loves their clam chowder!! And if you like calamari.... try theirs, it's great!

Great casual atmosphere, delicious seafood, and wonderful people make this one of my favorite places to dine. Order first and then sit at tables, and servers bring you dinner. The seafood plate for two is a great value at $21: fish, clams, scallops, shrimp and two sides....we couldn't eat it all and it was so fresh.

Great food!! As far as I know, the only place in town to get a lobster roll (a boston specialty). I was a little shocked when I first walked in by the pay first/sit down and wait concept, but it made it a lot faster to get a table, which is a good thing since the place is always packed!

Excellent selection and great food. The portions are large and I always end up taking half of it home. You may want to go early because the line is always out the door.

Boston's Fish House has really good seafood, but their sides are nothing to write home about. I don't really like waiting in line before sitting down to eat; it seems silly. However, I've grown up on Boston's Fish House and enjoy a good portion of their fish.

This has been a regular spot for me since their 1st location down Aloma nearly 20 years ago. I travel extensively and can say with confidence that this is the best New England style casual seafood in the country - period.

I am sorry to report that I cannot share the same enthusiasm for this place as my fellow Yelpers. We went to Boston's after a nice day at the beach craving some good seafood. I was very excited about this place given the 4.5 star average...usually a sign that a top-notch meal was in store. What we got instead was a solid meal, but extremely overpriced for what it was. The fish was fresh and the flavor was good (if a bit heavy), but nothing special. The clam chowder was actually the highlight. My fish and chips were good, but I have had better in Orlando at Fiddler's Green. My wife had the scallops which were good but not exemplary. Maybe I should have read the recommended dishes more. Everything was solid and tasty, but for $42 for two (not including drinks) I was expecting better. Also, we sat outside and after dropping off the food they never came back to visit once, and we sat there for quite a while.

From the minute you walk in, the staff embraces you as family! They are the happiest people and they want your experience with them to be satisfactory. The prices are fair and the food is delicious and plentiful. If you leave here hungry it is your own fault. Beverage glasses are kept filled without prompting from customers. Bakes, broiled or fried, your always get a meal well prepared. Desserts are also deliciously available. The staff joins in to celebrate your birthday with a song!

Every time I visit my old stomping grounds, I always hit up Boston Fish House. I always order the fried shrimp. Sorry I don't have pics to give a visual, but these plates are always heaping. As big as I am, I can never finish my plate. Best FRIED seafood I've ever had.

If you want good seafood, this is the place. Order first at the cashier, then go sit and they bring you the food. Fried food mainly, shrimp, clams, fish, onion rings although they can fix it other ways also. But if you love fried food try Bostons.

There must be something terribly wrong with me as this place has 4 stars. Four of us went here for dinner over the weekend and came away with seriously clogged arteries. We had some of everything and everything was fried, mushy and greasy. The portions were very large, the place was packed and none of us "got it". My fried oysters were tepid, the tartar sauce is in a squeeze bottle left at the table and unrefrigerated, the corn on the cob was cooked well but an inferior strain, the onion bits were good and the broccoli salad was interesting in that it was very sweet and had lots of bacon in it. I will admit that none of the four of us enjoy greasy food so take this review for what it's worth. The service was good, the desserts were of the store-bought variety and none of us will return. Sorry.

Best in Orlando? Uh, no. Really makes me question the credibility of reviews on Yelp. Somewhere between Long John Silvers and Red Lobster. Not awful but not great either.

I think that if you're like me and have lowered your fat intake over the years, you may not enjoy this place. I do enjoy a deep fried dinglebob every once in a while, but I left here feeling heavy and greasy. The sides were OK.

After reading Peter's review I decided to check this place out. I'm very glad I did. I had the fried cod, and my dining partner for the evening had the cajun style salmon. We also got an order of calimari for an appetizer. The food was amazing. I have to say I was incredibly impressed. The orderring system is a little unorthodox and the food wasn't lightning fast to arrive, but it made for a nice leisurely dinner. Also, the portions are huge and the staff is very friendly. I'm definitely going to be back at Boston's again, as I was very happy and I don't think I've left a restaraunt as full as I left Boston's for quite awhile.

I absolutely LOVE Boston's. Although I don't live in Orlando anymore, I make it a point to hit up Boston's every time I'm in Orlando for business. First discovered it in 2001 when it was recommended by a coworker and I've been hooked ever since. Everything I have tried, from the haddock to the shrimp to the lobster pie, has been fresh and delicious. They offer a yummy cracker crumb topping on any of their broiled items. Make onion rings one of your sides ... you won't be disappointed.

we have been fans for at least 10 yrs! this place does it for my Bostonian husband. I usually get the crab. the new side is broccoli salad which is awesome! the onion rings are great too. they have a small selection of beer on tap as well. they get super crowded on weekends. The bisque is lumpy, so I wouldn't recommend it. They are a bit pricey. Def. fresh seafood, no doubt!

Hands down the best fried shrimp in the world! So juicy and succulent and plentiful portions too. Everytime I come home this is one of my first stops.

Boston's Fish House is the BEST seafood in central Florida (even my friend from New England agrees). My favorite is the big belly ipswich clams. They are more like oysters than what we think of as fried clams. Their onion rings are aweome too.

This is GREAT place to get tasty, fried seafood. You just have to do it their way. You have to stand in line and give your order to the teller before you can sit down. Pay first, then eat. Then wait. It's actually faster to walk to the takeout bar, pay for your food (you always PAY BEFORE YOU EAT here, no deadbeats allowed), and then just sit down outside while the chumps in line wait to order. The food is great, although unimaginative, but they serve tons of it, and you can't say its not tasty. Just FOLLOW ORDERS and you will get great food. ONE RELUCTANT FORK WITH A FRIED SHRIMP CLUSTER.
