Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

We have been eating here since we moved to Winter Garden. We usually really enjoyed the food, however, the last time we ate here we had such horrible service I have to only give it 2 stars. We ordered food on our way home from work. I went and picked it up and it was ready really fast. The bag was stapled shut so I couldn't check my order but we never really had a problem before so I didn't bother. My mistake. When I got home half our order was missing. We had spent 45 bucks on two meals and 2 appetizers so I was pretty mad. I called them back right away and her response was come and get the rest. I really didn't see the reason I should have to get back out of the house when they messed it up. They do deliver so I said they should deliver it to me. I was put on hold and had to explain my situation about 4 times before someone finally said we are too busy, it would take over an hour and a half. I was really upset by this point and just couldn't understand why we were not being put to the front of the line because it was their fault! I finally got a manger person who was not going to budge. I had to pick it up but I said I wanted all new food since now half of us had to wait to eat. She agreed she would re make my food but only if I brought the whole order back. Like are you going to reuse my food for someone else! It was so confusing. I went back and go a whole new order and when I when I tried to give her the old food she just let me have it. So why did I have to bring it back, I felt like they thought I was lying. All in all it was a bad experience and I thought it was poorly handled. I wont be going back, because they are very expensive for a Chinese restaurant and if I'm going to pay that amount I want good service. On top of it the chicken dish we ordered had mostly vegetables and hardly any chicken. I also asked for no MSG because I suffer from terrible migraines and they must have been upset with me because I had the worse headache of my life the next morning. I think they had added extra MSG but I really don't know. I definitely will not be going back.

I go here when it is timely only. The food is obviously frozen and warmed up then covered in sauce. The fried rice is so dry sometimes I can't chew it. Look around before you go here for a good meal.

If you love Chinese food, it's a great place, if you love Sushi, it's even better! I love this place. They have a great selection of sushi, and what's even better is that the all you can eat menu is made to order. Dang good deal there if you have a big appetite for sushi. The Dynamite rolls are simply amazing! I've not found a place that does them better. Same goes for their Eel rolls. The fish is about as fresh as fresh can get.

We just moved to Orlando and are looking for a new Chinese restaurant to love. This wasn't it. The food was good, but not great. Good portions however. We ordered the won ton soup and were disappointed Wor Won Ton was not an option. The pan fried dumplings were deep fried which was odd for us. The chicken lo-mein was good. I would have liked real sweet & sour sauce as opposed to duck sauce. It's ok.

Ordered in. Only thing I ate was the egg drop soup and egg rolls. Pork fried rice tasted like cinnamon. And the bourbon chicken was nothing like what you would expect bourbon chicken to be. Only had one bite. And put the rest away.

Most expensive and worst Chinese food I have ever had!
(1)Trevor M.
Really good orange chicken, loved the crab rangoon and egg rolls. Pork fried rice was a little dry

I love this place! It's not near me, but when I pass by I feel required to drop in! Egg drop soup is glorious, just like what I would get in NYC!

This isn't fine cuisine, but for what it is it's great. It's very good Chinese takeout and as an added bonus they have pretty good sushi. Drivers and employees are always nice, a little pricy, but you get good portions. Would recommend for delivery...

delivery was great! had the sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak, chicken and broccoli and house friend rice, flavor was good and all the orders came with white steamed rice that was more than enough. all of this fed a family of 5 plus we had left overs. overall it was okay i would order out again from this place.

The shrimp tempura roll is absolutely to die for!!!!! The only problem is it's so good that I can't get anything else! I love their sushi here and I have currently tried about 1/4 of their rolls but the shrimp tempura is the best! Bottom Line: I come here about twice a month and absolutely love it!!!
(5)Seann G.
The food quality here has been dropping steadily. I'm not sure why but my last few take out meals have tasted the opposite of fresh. Everything is tasting like it was frozen and thrown in a fryer. I really used to like this place but I just told my wife I'm done ordering from here. :( As for the Sushi it was always kind of average. It seems to remain about the same if not a little below average.

I live near this place and was hoping to make it my go to Chinese Food place. Yeah that dream is certainly dead. The food is just horrible. I went twice. The first time I was disappointed and maybe thought it would be bad that one time. Few weeks later gave it another shot and was quickly reminded why I didn't come back. The staff were very nice so it pains me to write this review but I can't shake the fact that the food was no good. Would not recommend.
(1)Shannon W.
My coworkers and I have lunch here weekly, it is absolutely amazing. The service is great, Annie is the sweetest server and very attentive. Their sushi and Chinese are both top notch! Would recommend this place to any sushi or Chinese lover! Chinese lunch special is very well priced for how much you get. Sushi has great variety and all well priced! Dynamite roll and salmon tempura rolls are best in the area!
(5)Stephanie F.
This place is very clean and the people are nice. Fried rice had a tons of sprouts and onions. Lo mien had a cinnamon taste. The wontons also had a little bit of cinnamon taste. It is also a little pricey.

Food has gone to dogs. Never ordered Sushi or dine in. Always pick up. Used to order until two years. Started well but then we found food quality downgrading. My biggest beef is with their hot & sour soup. That's the holy grail of any Chinese restaurant. Once pork was slimy in Fried Rice that we don't order it anymore. Today's order was placed with an expectation to redeem our interest in them. But none of the food was good. Soup was neither hot nor sour, Ma Po Tofu lame, Egg fried rice just okay, Lemon sauce had no sweetness. Only Orange Beef was marginally good. For our closest Chinese restaurant this is a No Go! I am bummed! Search is on. And yes, it is expensive for a hole in the wall place.

I live right by this place and order from here pretty frequently. The staff are so friendly and amazing, I love them. The food isn't going to blow your mind but it's good, cheap, fast and convenient.
(4)Janet L.
At first it seems pricy for Chinese food. Until you see the quantity of food. Each order is enough for three people. Sushi made right there. Nice staff. We always order to go, so I can't speak for the service.
(4)Cody G.
Absolutely fantastic. Some of the best dumplings I have ever had. My room mate had the peking duck and was equally pleased! The Ma Po Tofu was too spicy for me - so they made me a new dish, to go, with less spice. Fantastic service, fantastic food. Will definitely return.

Really all I can say about this was "meh". We ordered in, and I ordered the pepper steak dinner combination plate. It comes with the entree, fried rice, soup, and an entree for around $14. In total - the amount of food you get for that is insane. It's the quality I'm kinda iffy about. The pepper steak had hardly any steak in it. It was mostly undercooked onions and green pepper. The fried rice was okay... Not much flavor. The wonton soup had ZERO flavor. The broth tasted like hot water. The dumplings were just kinda there... My favorite thing was the egg roll. I thought it tasted pretty good. Overall, I probably would order again due to the sheer amount of food you get but will definitely be ordering something different from here.

Did take out from here once recently and had their dinner combo with chicken wings, bbq pork ribs and fried rice. Loved the wings and the ribs but the fried rice was extremely disappointing. I grew up on Chinese Jamaican food and I've found American Chinese food to be pretty bland but this fried rice had no flavor at all. On another note the wonton soup and spring roll were decent. Haven't tried the sushi yet but the menu has a wide variety of choices and I'm hoping it's not as disappointing as the fried rice. ***********UPDATE******** So I went back today to try their sushi and had to lower my rating from 3 stars because I don't think I ever want to set foot in this place again. I phoned in my order from the take out menu and even called back to add on to it and when I went to pick it up the total was much greater than what it should have been. So I questioned the price and it turned out that the first two items I had ordered had incorrect prices and instead of apologizing for the mix up the receptionist insisted that I pay the higher price because that was what was in the computer. I should have asked for the manager at this point but I paid for the food anyways and left. Now I'm back home and halfway through my dinner and not only did they screw us on the price but the two orders of edamame that were to be included with our meals are not in any of the bags. This is extremely poor customer service and I will not be doing any further business with Summer Place.

Gave this place a shot this afternoon and was disappointed. The pork fried rice was dry and flavorless. The general tso's chicken tasted weird. Too much thick sauce in my opinion. The chicken wings were small and dry. The sushi though was pretty average. Definitely a waste of $30.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Extremely Poor CUISINE: Asian, Chinese ATMOSPHERE: Delivery SERVICE: Delivery was prompt SOUND LEVEL: N/A CLEANLINESS: N/A RECOMMENDED: We order from the lunch menu, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Sesame Chicken and Sweet and Sour chicken for our kids. Would not recommend any of these. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was undercooked and very, very chewy, the sauce was almost water with no flavor at all. The Sesame Chicken was very overcooked to the point of being overly greasy and grease laden. The Sweet and Sour was cooked well BUT they did not bring the sauce or our drinks. I called as soon as I realized the sauce and drinks were missing and they said they would bring them right over, they arrived 30 minutes later. Very poor response time. CLOSING COMMENTS: As we all know all Asian delivery restaurants use per-prepared food, the magic is in the preparation and handling. This restaurant does not have what it takes to make that happen in my opinion.

I would always order Kung Pao chicken for carryout when I lived in Florida. It was delicious, and the portion was excellent. However, I must say it was a bit pricey for what I got. It definitely comes with the area. It's very close to several very affluent housing developments. They also have a small dining room. The food comes on these really cool compartmented box-like plates. The presentation was excellent. If you're someone who lives in the area, or a tourist staying on Disney property in the Magic Kingdom resort area, this place isn't a long drive and it's away from the touristy mess. It's really amazing how "normal" the area north of Disney is.

Got take out from here last nights very close to the house easy parking huge portion sizes we could've easily split one of the meals very friendly staff we will definitely be going back Food taste of excellence is definitely a second visit is worth it

I've only dined here for their All You Can Eat Sushi, and while the sushi itself is pretty good, the value for what I paid for wasn't. The list has changed a few times and now it seems shorter, only offering specialty rolls. While I was paying for my bill, I added up how much it would've cost me a la carte, I only ended up saving $1(three rolls, miso soup, and a ginger salad). Service was usual, sweet Asian lady with broken English. If I'm in the area, I'll probably come back, but I won't make the drive for their AYCE Sushi anymore.
(3)Jacob F.
Good food for American Chinese. A little over priced. I gave $$ but on the higher end of it. Also a little slow at times.
(4)Anthony C.
Many choices from Japanese to Chinese. The Sushi is a highlight and very good for what you would expect from a take out strip mall type of restaurant. When it comes down to it, prices here are too high. If I want to go, I think $15 for average take out Chinese dinner is too much. I do think their sushi is above average but again it is expensive. It's like if Chilis sold a $48 steak, it just doesn't make sense. This is a no-frills type of restaurant that charges you for the frills.

Summer Palace is nothing short of amazing, spectacular, and magnificent. We sat down, were immediately helped, asked for drinks and our order, and the food came out in minutes. This is not your regular Chinese restaurant - it's good food, nice staff, and the best food! I'll return!
(5)Kara V.
The food here is good. It is. They do some pretty uncommon dishes too. That's why I always go to them for take out. But whatever you do, do NOT sit inside. Table service is a disaster. The waitress we had was an older Asian woman with a bob hair cut. If you see her, RUN! When asked if the friend rice would be enough to split she lied and said it was one portion. What came out was a plate big enough to feed three people! As she walked away from taking our order I watched her rub her hand all over her mouth before going in the back - hopefully to wash her hands. Because she carried the plates with her thumb on the edge, leading her to sticking it in some of our food. But it gets worse! As the check comes around she proceeds to GIVE HER SELF A 20% TIP. I wish I was kidding! She takes our cards, walks away and is gone with them for like, 10 minutes. I'm now genuinely concerned and am checking my credit card every day to see if there is fraud or multiple charges. I will NEVER order from here ever again. Not take out, not dine in - nothing. Summer palace will never see another penny from me as long as I live.

Came here for takeout bc a few people at work said it was decent. Maybe I'm just used to NYC Chinese food but this didn't do it for me. Chicken lo mein was bland and tasteless, pan fried dumplings were actually deep fried, and the ginger salad was literally a handful of iceberg lettuce and that's it. And a tiny ramekin of dressing on the side. Was underwhelmed with all of it. :( large portions so now I'm stuck with leftovers for days, ha! Employees were really nice when I went in and ordered though, I'll give them that! Might try this place one more time for good measure and try other items.
(2)Jocelyn R.
I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food. Just moved here from NYC so my Chinese food expectations are high! However I was very satisfied with this place. We dined in and ordered off of the dinner combination menu and it was delicious! The plates come fully stocked with rice the entree, egg roll and salad, well worth the $. The place was clean, the employees were helpful and attentive. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because the appetizers we ordered weren't that good, very bland and average tasting! If your looking for some good Chinese in the Disney/ winter garden area this is your place!
(4)Matt H.
Great, locally owned location for fresh sushi and Asian cuisine. Very diverse menu of both Japanese and Chinese standards. Service is good, but can be a little slow; probably because it is a small family business and staffing may be difficult.
(4)Jessica C.
I think I've made my way through the entire all you can eat menu, and the sushi is BOMB. I was bummed about being so far away from home during the holidays, so I went here on Christmas night. Great price for a ridiculous amount of sushi, yet there is a catch, you have to eat it all. Challenge accepted.
(5)Jennifer G.
My family and I absolutely love this restaurant. It's a small neighborhood restaurant and it is casual, very clean, and nice atmosphere. The service is incredible and as regular patrons all the servers know us by name, and treat us like family. They offer a wide range or Chinese food, and Sushi too. Our favorites are the General Taos Chicken, Egg Fu Yong, Lomain Noodles, and their all you can eat sushi. The sushi is amazing especially the Dynamite Roll, my personal favorite. Definitely must try!
(5)Jolie L.
Foods always fresh and the portions are huge! Also, very reasonable prices
(5)Cendy K.
I think I've only been inside once, instead Summer Palace is my go-to for delivery! I almost always get the beef and broccoli because it's very beefy and veggies are crisp! The eggs rolls and wonton soup are delish! The delivery guy who we usually get is super friendly! They almost always deliver under the time given. It's not always perfect, but it's pretty close to it!
(4)Steve S.
Great food, great sushi.. Though a little pricey it is still worth the buck. I got strictly for their sushi but I have friends that really enjoy their General Tsaos as well.
(4)Scott P.
Excellent food and excellent value with the All You Can Eat deal. The service was prompt, polite and our server, William, was very knowledgeable and professional. The one thing that bothers me is the "Ratings" on the sushi which CLEARLY reflect the cost of the role to the restaurant to how many stars it gets (Garden Roll = 5 Stars! Crab and Scallop = 3 Stars). A wee bit insulting.
(3)Marie S.
Very good food, big portions, friendly staff.
(5)Donald G.
Good food and service.
(4)Dave V.
There's what, a million chinese cuisine restaurants to order take out from? If so, I've had about 50-75 of them and this one has been the best. Lunch combos are $7.50 and dinner $14.50. The dinner prices are somewhat high compared to the other places, but Summer Palace takes the #1 spot for all around taste.
(4)Steve M.
Tried this place twice and I am a fan. So far I have yet to get anything bad here.
(3)Ron W.
The thing that really makes Summer Palace stand out is their incredible $19.95 all you can eat Sushi!! Rather than being a cheap buffet with sushi options - you are given a menu with about 25 different choices. Each roll is made in front of you. The service is about the best I've seen in any restaurant here in Orlando. I'm kind of a camel and drink a lot when I go out, and my cup (which was small) never made it empty. Had 3 rolls and recommend the Dragon Roll.. Its some kind of deep friend sushi with a spicy mayonnaise, which can't be healthy, but anything tasting this good won't be healthy anyways!
