2nd time ordering from here. Quick delivery. Average food. We had the pu-pu platter which consisted of 2 chicken wings, 2 ribs, 2 crab Rangoon, 2 shrimp, 2 beef sticks, and 2 egg rolls. All were good except for the ribs, they were like rubber. The honey garlic chicken was what you'd expect but the sauce had too much honey in it. If you spend more than $20 you get a free 4pc crab Rangoon. Delivery is $1-$3 depending where you live.

Ming Kong isn't really a Chinese restaurant though it has a couple of seemingly afterthought tables and chairs; more of a take out. It basically has below average prices and below average food even for Chinese take-out. They have online ordering and limited area delivery provided the order is at least $10. Its food choices are the typical, being a General Tao's Chicken, though my thought would be that if they served it to General Tao, they might end up in front of a firing squad. Other items are a Seafood Delight, basically comprised of a pulverized fish, though I doubt a true surimi as that generally refers to the ingredient being of a white fish, a chicken and broccoli, a beef and broccoli, some boneless spare ribs (your guess is as good as mine as to why no bone with a rib), some teriyaki things, but all within a general price range under $8.00. On the good side the place is spotlessly clean, a rarity for anything Chinese within the Lauderdale area, and if you use a mobile restaurant inspections app as I do (if you don't you should) it has an admirable record of never having had a health violation....truly amazing for any restaurant. Of the service staff I've met, all have been most polite, pleasant and helpful; a real pleasure to deal with.

Im so so sad to say that Ming Kong is no longer the amazing Chinese food place it used to be. It has been taken over by new people and the food is just terrible! EVERYTHING is terrible from the soup to the fried rice (which is yellow rice). There is absolutely no thought to quality or taste to this food, its just slop thrown together. My search continues for the next good Chinese food restaurant.

After an absence of 10 yrs I had no expectations it would be as I remembered. However I found the food delivered to be on a par with canned or frozen food. The order of Egg Rolls, Dumplings both Fried & Steamed were tough and not even chewable. Pork Egg Foo Young was standard but the thick rich gravy which was expected was like Light Brown Water. Chicken Fried Rice was bland and featured rubbery Chicken pieces I added salt to at least add some sense of a flavor. The idea of at least trying the restaurant was a learning experience and we will continue our search for Chinese Food in the area.

I ordered food for delivery and was pleasantly surprised! The orders came with A LOT of food for a little bit of money and even came with an elegant wall calendar for 2014. The food was good and lasted me two days! I'll make sure to order again from them.

I ordered wonton soup and sweet & sour chicken over the phone and went to pick it up. The place is situated next to a dive bar where they let people hang outside to drink beer and be gross. The Ming Kong store front creeped me out. The staff was friendly enough, but the place looked dirty as hell. I almost walked out, but I didn't because sometimes places like this can produce amazing tasting food. I should have trusted my first instinct. When I got home and started eating, I had to taste the wonton soup broth twice because it didn't taste like anything on the first taste. I dipped in to the bowl again and tried the wonton noodle itself and it tasted like soft mealy cardboard. I promptly threw it out. I thought I would give my sweet and sour chicken a try next. The rice was fine, but the sweet and sour sauce was super watery and the chicken, although it looked good with the golden crispy looking outside, it was really dry and old on the inside. I couldn't eat more than two bites of it. I went to the sink, took off the crispy fried outside, rinsed off the chicken from the inside and gave the rest to my dog. Don't go here. It's gross from beginning to end.

We ordered four spring rolls, chicken lo mein and hunan chicken. Walking into the take out restaurant, we encountered the smell of tobacco and not food. The food was slightly below average in quality but the prices were lower than average. The spring rolls were bland, the chicken was odd in texture and taste while the rice was quite good. We probably will not order again as there are better alternatives in the area.

Each delivery gets better and better! We've tried a few other Chinese delivery places and this blows them out if the water, plus they have online ordering so it's convenient. Happy we found them!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
