This place is adorable, but only open for breakfast and lunch. Typical diner menu. Had a nice lunch, but nothing worth returning for. Lots of local business transacted over lunch, which is always good for the area. Would have liked to go back for dinner/dessert to try options other than a sandwich.

Great Place.........It is too bad that they only will take your order for Breakfast up to 11:00 AM.....I would have gone a hundred more times if there were more reasonable hours for breakfast. What is the problem with throwing a couple of eggs on the grill instead of a Burger after 11am? Sounds like penny wise but pound foolish.

Great breakfast - know how to make the sausage "well done". Only shortcoming is the bagel is so "Florida"... Not a boiled & baked dark bagel from Eli's in Towaco, NJ.

this place is way over prices for what I got. The service was indifferent at best. I walked in and ordered ice water and coffee to start. She brought oj and coffee and when I said I didn't ask for OJ she told me to keep it she would bring the water (and never ever did) - I will come back to that later. I was seated a good 10 min before the 4 top that was seated next to me and yet, she took their drink and food orders first and brought their food before she even bothered to get my drink order. For food I got eggs and corned beef with a side of pancakes. The eggs and hash were good, not remarkable and the pancakes were dry frisbees that no matter how much syrup I added (no butter, again waitress couldn't be bothered) I couldn't fix. Then the check came, and surprise surprise she charged me the 3$ for the OJ that I didn't order and asked her to take back....and refused to take it off the bill. $22 for 2 eggs, hash, horrid pancakes, and OJ that wasn't fresh squeezed but was priced that way. Will not be going back. The cute atmosphere doesn't make up for bad service and so-so food.

The placr was packed but the service was rather quick. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food was good and good portions. Coffee is excellent!

Excellent food, terrible customer service. Ordered take out, they forgot a side salad and when we called they refused to give us a credit. All the waitress had to say is "oh, here it is on the counter", when you run out on your lunch hour, you can't exactly turn around and go back. At the very least they could have offered a credit of some sort, very dissappointing.

Decent breakfast option in the West Palm area. They were very busy on a Sunday morning, but we were seated very quickly. The service was good, not too long of a wait for our food or coffee refill. The scrambled eggs were actually pretty good and the highlight of the meal.

Absolutely adorable. The owner is there all the time and she is young, friendly, fun, and incredibly hard working. Their food is fresh, creative, and delicious! The place recently expanded, but they are only open for breakfast and lunch. They close around 2 PM. If you haven't been- I highly suggest a visit!

Read the great reviews and was expecting a lot. I was eating by myself, and was immediately pushed off on either the counter or one of the worst tables they had. I would not have minded so much, if there were not so many empty booths, and booths with single diners already there. It was a very rainy Wednesday afternoon, and during my lunch time the place never got full. Menu is extensive and it has a lot of choices. I got the lunch special, beef tips over pasta, a soup and a drink. The bill was 10 bucks. Food was good but not as earth shattering as some of the reviews here. Take note - this place stops serving breakfast at 11 AM unlike most diners that serve all day. Will I go back? Probably not.

Listing online gives incorrect directions to this diner. Places it 3/10 of a mile away. Breakfast is only served until 11am. This is not traditional diner practice. The prices are high except for breakfast specials. Regular listed prices are much more expensive than a traditional diner. Service was slow on both of my visits. Food was edible but on the greasy side. It is not terrible but food is not any better then denny's, waffle house or house of pancakes. That should tell you everything. Restaurant was cleaner than those places.

I found myself shaking my head while I was leaving this restaurant. I didn't think it was physically possible to mess up eggs, but nicks diner proved me wrong! I ordered an egg white omelet with spinach and Swiss cheese. Upon waiting 20 minutes between cups of coffee because our waitress was negligent, we finally received our food. My omelet came with hash browns , which honestly were the best part of the meal. It also came with four pieces of over buttered under toasted bread. One bite and I felt my cholesterol jump up 50 points. Onto the omelet, I had high hopes for flavor goodness. I took one bite and honestly wanted to barf. Every other bite I got was a giant bite of spinach or a giant bite of cheese. There was barely any egg whites. The person who cooked it obviously had a heavy hand for toppings. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my breakfast. I will not be returning to nicks.

Typical dinner food. Lower quality. Don't expect the best breakfast that you have ever had, but still worth a visit. Particularly if you need some greasy food to cure last nights beverage consumption. Nice atmosphere and wait staff. 2.5 stars.

Hubby and I were here over Mother's Day weekend and stumbled across Nick's on Saturday. We liked the food and service so well that we came back Sunday. We both had the same hing both days - Eggs Benedict with hash browns. The hash browns were crispy, and the eggs Benedict was quite tasty. Someone was always coming by to ask if we needed refills on our coffee, and it wasn't much of a wait. I will be back.

We went to Nick's to use a Groupon, but we would go back without one (if we lived in the area) -- it's the perfect choice for a diner breakfast. The owner stands at the door and gets people tables (there is no orderly list of names or diagram of open tables -- he just keeps track in his head and figures out where to send people). Although it was full when we got there on a Sunday morning, he actually got people seated really quickly (within 10 minutes). The waitresses have personality -- we didn't have just one waitress, but they all watched to make sure we were taken care of. Some were very friendly and others had spunk - seems true to what you'd get at a diner! They were also incredibly willing to substitute out anything we asked for, which was really nice. I ended up getting Deuces with eggs over medium, turkey sausage, fruit (instead of potatoes), and chocolate chip pancakes (instead of regular pancakes). The eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey sausage was flavorful, it was a great combo of fresh fruit (normally there's usually some bad pieces, but it was all good), and the chocolate chip pancakes had a pretty good number of chocolate chips. My boyfriend also got Deuces with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, and oreo pancakes (the special of the day). He enjoyed it all and raved about the oreo pancakes. Overall, Nick's is a solid diner choice - even though it lacks the traditional diner look on the outside (it's in a strip mall), it has the atmosphere on the inside. There was a huge group of bikers there when we went, so if that's not a sign of a good diner, I'm not sure what is!

Visited Nick's 50's diner for breakfast with my fabulous wife! They seemed a bit short-handed and a regular customer actually asked us to take a seat and notified the staff where we were sitting. They wasted no time though and within a minute or so we had menus and a minute later we had coffee. Coffee was good. We both had breakfast specials that were well-prepared, but not particularly memorable. I'm sorry to say that since it's been a few days, so my memory is fuzzy on some details. I had the one egg, one pancake, and biscuit special. It was all good except the biscuit, which was house-made, was tough, very tough. I mentioned it to the busser, who smiled and said, "oh." I didn't mention it again. The saving grace of Nick's were the two pro-servers that made us feel at home and got our orders efficiently, and of course the cook that cranked out our food so well. All in all, we enjoyed Nick's, again, thanks to the server and her partner. (They were a real team.) We will visit here again!

Always at least slightly crowded. That ought to tell you something in an area with so many choices. Old fashioned, simple - both meant in the good way. Not a bargain joint, but well staffed.

Had the Monday special turkey dinner today... As good or better than my grandmother makes on Thanksgiving! Have been eating breakfast and lunch for years and have never had a meal that was not delicious. Daily soup variety best in town. If you haven't been there give it a try.. You can't go wrong.

WHAT KIND OF DINER STOPS SERVING BREAKFAST AT 11AM?!?!?! This one.... we were reluctantly served after we discovered this and then proceeded to walk out the door. Food came quick, but nothing was spectacular. Had the country breakfast, biscuit was nice and fluffy but gravy tasted off. While we sat and ate our breakfast at 11:15am several people looking for breakfast have been turned away at the door.

I must say that I'm extremely surprised by the overall rating of this establishment. I will be forgiving and overlook the 45+minute ticket time.. They were busy. It happens. Even overlooking that, there was nothing remarkable about the food. My omelet was bland and the portions were Certainly not what I have come to expect as a Diner-size portion. True Diners tend to overload you with food for a fraction of the price at Nicks. Service was also subpar. The place was clean and the decor was inviting but from where I sat, there was absolutely No reason to return. There's a ton of other options in the area, any of which could match of not beat Nick's.

Stopped in at Nick's diner to check out the breakfast. The food was served hot and fast not a generous portion but a decent portion. I ordered a healthy start basically some fruit and an omelette with spinach and chicken. Got a cuppa coffee and a very tall glass of water, the coffee is very good here. One thing I must say is that when they clean the tables they need to wipe them down. My table had pancake syrup on it which made it very sticky they took the plates and cups from the last person but did not wipe the table down. The next thing was the bill; two dollars for a cup of coffee that was barely 6 ounces I can't understand granted it was really good but it was not worth two dollars the rest of the meal was eight dollars which brought my total to $11 that is very high for a quick and medium sized omelette so I do not think I will be returning to Nic's diner

Nick's Diner is located off Okeechobee on the south side of the road in a small plaza. I frequent Nick's for lunch and can attest to it being a bustling lunch spot with a sizable reputation. Even if Nick's is busy, there are many tables and never long waits. The reason why this place is acceptable is the food comes out blazing fast, and the menu has a ton of variety. Also, Nick's forte is service. The servers are fast, friendly, and experienced. The red chairs are nostalgic along with the rest of the decor. Nick's food isn't anything special, but they do have large salads, kabobs, meatloaf, hot dogs, and most importantly MALT MILKSHAKES! Nick's Diner is a veteran 25 year old diner that delivers on variety, excellent service, and comfort. Now where is the Jukebox...

First time here, came with my mother who had previously dined here on several occasions. She mentioned since they opened up another side of the restaurant, the prices also increased across the menu. We were greeted and seated immediately; the decor was cute and hinted at the 50's all over the room... I liked the sparkly red booth seats the best. I ordered the chicken salad club sandwich with fries, and while it was good, it most certainly wasn't a memorable chicken salad blend. The fries weren't cooked properly - they were limp and almost white... I like crispy fries, so they lost a star for that. Would I come back on my own? No, not really. If someone invited me, then yes.

Went here with a business colleague for lunch. Sandwich, soup and a drink. Great little place in WPB. Every table was taken. A ton of business people (not just retirees). If I was back in the area and wanted a place for lunch, this would be the place to go. We both had tuna sandwich. It was filling and tasty. The price point was very reasonable. The service was outstanding.

God bless America and the food that everyone enjoys in this great country . It's July 4th and there's no better place to have a truly patriotic made from scratch Americana meal then Nicks . Fast friendly service and hot delicious comfort food. From chicken fried steak to a 930 am root beer float . Have an ice cold coke from the fountain to compliment your meal - excellent place for the family .

How does a diner stop serving breakfast at 11. So if I wanted a bacon cheeseburger you'd do it but I can't get a side of bacon and some toast. Really? Buy a couple more grills like a plug in one for pancakes and eggs. You have room.

Great breakfast stop. I ordered the Deuces which consist of 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes or french toast & potatoes (only complaint is no toast/biscuit). They also have breakfast specials from 7am-11am on weekdays. Monica, our waitress, was very courteous and efficient.

Went for lunch and got their normal cheeseburger and fries. Inside, the place looks just like their name.. a 50's style diner. This would be a great place to take kids. The burger was cooked as I requested. Nothing very special about it but it was good! The employees were quick and friendly. I'll be back!

We are trying to find a good local breakfast place. We tried Nick's out. It was busy, but we were seated quickly. I ordered biscuits and gravy & scrambled eggs. The eggs were a bit runny and under-cooked. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good, but did get a film over top if you didn't stir them up. Service was decent, our waitress was really good at first and then disappeared about halfway through our meal. We had to ask another server to find her for us and even after that, it took another 5 minutes for her to come over. I was shocked that our bill was $63 for just four of us to each have breakfast and a drink. Pricey for breakfast. We didn't try them, but they had some amazing looking cupcakes! This place would be good for big breakfast get-togethers. I don't know that it was that great that I would go back again.

First visit here. Arrived at opening time. Ordered an omelette. Waited 25 minutes for an undercooked omelette. The cheese was still a solid slice, and the thing was served on a cold plate. The place was full of the smell of burning toast. Nothing beats watching others come in, be served, and have their food while you wait, and wait. Maybe a bad day, but no apology. At least the coffee was good, but I hate the cheap sweeteners.

After arriving in West Palm Beach airport, I picked up my car rental and stopped by Nick's after finding it on Yelp to grab a quick meal before heading to Miami. The food was good, staff were very friendly and the service was great. It was very busy when we arrived but we were quickly seated and the food didn't take long to come to the table. The prices were about average and they had a good menu with a nice selection. Also, the restroom was very clean which is very important to me when it comes to food businesses. I definitely will stop by Nick's next time I fly to West Palm Beach.

This place is just what you'd expect from a old school diner. It's hidden in a plaza, but when you walk in it's a total throwback. I couldn't get over the glittery red booths. It was like I was a little girl again. Our waitress was super friendly, but she wasn't the best server ever. We had to ask her twice for waters. Otherwise, everything went smooth and the food was acceptable. It wasn't special.

Not knowing anything about this place other than the reviews I read on YELP , we decided to try Nicks 50's Diner ! From the moment we walked in , the decor took us back to a time neither of us grew up in , but an era I always have been fascinated by !! Black & white square tiled floor to the old timey lunch counter made me more than ready to taste the food . We both had a bacon cheeseburger with added grilled onions & jalapeños & a handful of good ole crinkle cut fries ... might I say this was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten !! Loved the decor , food & can't wait to come back & try some of that homemade pie !! I will most definitely bring friends and family here when they come to visit us !!

Been there 5-6 times. Cool diner atmosphere, quick and friendly staff. One of these times I'll try something other than the turkey club. Closes at 3 is the only downside. I think given a stand alone location you'd never get a seat.

One of my favorite breakfast places in WPB. Its always packed on the weekends so the wait is sometimes long, but its worth it! I love the steak and eggs breakfast! The service is always on point and I love their desserts. Its nice that you have table setting and also bar seating. The decoration is pretty much what you expect from a diner but I love the fact that this diner is ALWAYS really clean unlike most diners.

This "diner" has unusual hours for breakfast. Not open early am on weekdays or weekends. Good food but hard to eat here over other real diners in the area when they are never open and only serve breakfast during limited hours.

  • Adam F.

Went here for breakfast while working so unfortunately my girl was not with me. However it was not a bad place. Their A/C was down which made it a little uncomfortable but not their fault. Ordered a light breakfast and it was very good. Fruit was fresh. Coffee was hot and good. Have been here for lunch as well and it's a popular place. I think it has been around a long time. Not bad for this type of fare. Prices are really very good and so is the service.

The food left lots to be desired. The service was great. The place itself feels weird, having the typical diner decor but extremely high ceilings, which make it feel more like a cafeteria. Prices are good and it's clean, so it hits some marks, misses others.

I flew into WPB for a few days and was loath to eat at the hotel breakfast bar. A quick search found this to be not too far from the hotel and in the end a worthwhile 5 min drive. A bright airy diner with no greasy smell, the 50's theme permeates the whole joint. The music is low and the seating alternates between vinyl booths and a handfull of tables. I got 2 eggs up and since I am in the south...although you can argue FL is not the south...I added grits and a biscuit. Service was fast and with a smile and the diner food did not disappoint. Eggs perfectly cooked, great bacon (a rarity) and good grits/biscuit combo. The 'bottomless coffee' made me want to linger a little longer. I would recommend it if you are in a hotel nearby. For $10 w/tip you get out of the hotel, fast service and a slice of a fun little diner on quiet strip mall. If you are from overseas, get out and visit an establishment that is where the locals come to eat. If you are from WPB, then you probably know of other favorite places. This was a pleasant find.

If there's one thing I don't think there's enough of in South Florida it's diners. You know the type where Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza would spend hours in analyzing life's minutiae? Well I was looking for a light lunch and found this diner in a strip mall. As I walked in, I noticed the 50's motif and was pleasantly surprised. James Dean and Marilyn Monroe posters line the walls along with neon lighting. The diner is self seating and as I sat down a friendly waitress attended me. I ordered a chicken salad on rye and a side of cole slaw. It was right before lunch and I got in before it got really busy. No more than 6 minutes later, my sandwich was set in front of me. The lettuce and bacon was crisp, the rye was perfectly toasted and the chicken salad was all-white meat. This diner is a great find and I'll be back for sure!

Don't judge a book by it's cover! From the outside this place doesn't look like much but when u walk in it looks like you are in a 50's diner. The service was great and they delivered our food quickly. The food was great. My oldest son who is picky said it was the best Philly cheese steak he ever had and the reuben was great as well as the onion rings. We fed out family of 5 for less than $50.

First time here after reading some pretty good reviews. Was disappointed at quality of food, the scramble eggs were dark as if prepared in burned butter, the grits were cold, biscuits was hard and gravy had no flavor. Needless to say that I will not be back and do not recommend.

I was here on Monday and it's a night and day versus my experience today. The waitress today had no personality and seemed to be bothered by taking our order. Three orders had mashed potatoes which turned out to be sour. We told the waitress and she shrugged with a look that said so what. Bussing our table didn't happen and we eventually had 11 plates and 6 glasses present for our party of four. What a difference a few days has made.

It was early morning yesterday... I had pushed in the front of my car and had an hour to kill waiting on the body shop. That was fine with me since I hadn't had any breakfast. Trouble was, even though I had been in the area several times I'd never gone looking for a good breakfast place. After stopping at one very familiar chain and being thoroughly disgusted within the first 90 seconds and still waiting for my server, I took out my trusty smart phone for help. Nicks came up third and it was only .8 miles away. I made a mad dash for the door. Damned glad I did! I walked in (about 10am) and took a seat at the counter. I was immediately asked if I wanted coffee by a very friendly waitress that was walking by. Good start, I thought. Not 1 minute later, the girl behind the counter asked me how I was and gave me a menu and a list of specials. Country Fried steak? One of my faves! Brought me back to my days in Atlanta. The first waitress came back in under 3 minutes and asked me if I was ready. I ask her how the Country Fried Steak is and she says "It's very popular". Non-committal yet honest at the same time. :) I said I'll take it with two eggs basted light. Now there are not many places you can order eggs basted light and hope to be understood. However, she seemed to have heard it before so I was encouraged. Someone else came up to me about six minutes later and placed my order in front of me. There it was, my country fried steak lying beside two of the most perfect basted light eggs I'd ever seen. I was so impressed I took a pic for you guys to see. The service was great and so was the food. My only wish is that they would add patty sausage to the menu. So, if you're in the neighborhood and hungry... give Nicks a shot. Dan

One of the best kept secrets of West Palm. Great food, good coffee, and quick. I go here all the time for the omletes. A friend of mine turned me on to this place and it has become our "Pre-Auction" day ritual. Great way to start the day.

I will be back.

this place is way over prices for what I got.

2.5 stars.

This "diner" has unusual hours for breakfast. Not open early am on weekdays or weekends. Good food but hard to eat here over other real diners in the area when they are never open and only serve breakfast during limited hours.
