The queso! The hot sauce! The tex-mex! My go-to, my love... Yum! The Chicken Flautas is really good! Occasionally I will switch it up and get a couple tacos. the beer is always cold and their sweet tea rivals that of Sonny's BBQ sweet tea! The parking lot at this location tends to fill up quickly but theres a bank right next door but you can usually park at.

This location is conveniently located next to a few stores and also Sam's Club. There are a number of places to eat around there though. This is One of the smaller Tijuana Flats that I have been to. The service was decent but I've had better at other locations. The good thing is that there was not much of a wait but of course it is a holiday weekend. The tables and floors were clean, thank goodness The portions a little smaller than the other competitions. The taco with steak comes with two tacos for $7.99. I normally order their version of the burrito bowl which The steak one is also $7.99. Their small salsa is pretty small and you have to purchase it on the side similar to chipotle. I like how Moes offers you the free salsa.

I used to love coming here when I lived here 6 years ago. Live music, $1 drafts during happy hour, place was always clean. It was a great little spot. Food is still the same, but the restaurant always seems sticky now, no more $1 drafts and no more live music. It's a shame...it was such a draw for us. We've found other places we prefer in the area now a days.

The food is okay very bland not much flavor. My biggest issue was staff very unprofessional and rushing you to order with attitude. Cool atmosphere but not a place we will be going back to.

Came here for lunch several weeks back and we were pleasantly surprised with how helpful the staff was with explaining the menu to us in great detail. Because it was our first visit we were given a free basket of chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa was pretty tasty. The hot sauce bar is like nothing I have ever seen. Quite vast -- hot sauce "self serve" containers lining the wall -- extremely mild to SO hot it burns the taste buds off your tongue. I got the veggie and bean burrito with queso sauce. All the ingredients tasted fresh and good. My husband got the chicken quesadilla with a side of rice and beans. All in all the meal was good. The staff were very attentive and my iced tea was never empty. The manager even stopped by to offer a greeting and to make sure we were pleased with our service and meal. The only con I have about this location is the parking in this strip mall is terrible. There are not many spots available and with Subway next door -- this lot is always full. Not the best Mexican food we have eaten but pretty good -- we will be back.

If you like an heavily Americanized version of Mexican food then Tiajuana Flats is the cantina for you. Very little Mexican sauces or spices just plain protiens served on tortillas. A hot sauce bar that offers selections like siracha? And Thai chili sauce? Definitely South of the border. Luckily my beautiful wife likes the brand and rice but there is nothing spectacular here that would bring me back here at a hurried pace.

Food is not fresh at all. Taco Tuesday and the taco shells were stale. Lettuce tasted old. Not enough meat or sour cream in the tacos. I've been to the TF on Fowler ave and the food was so much better there. The one on fowler doesn't charge for the salsa or queso with the special. Here they charge you $1 more. If you want good food, do not come here.

I love coming here!! I recently visited another TIjuana Flats on an outing, and I will admit, I still love this location much more! Their staff is always friendly and attentive! Their food is always cooked on the spot and nothing is soggy like in the other one we visited! Thanks

An upgraded version of Mexican fast food. The employees at this location are extremely accommodating. (We've been coming for 2 years). The hot sauce bar is great an the art/pix on the walls and ceiling keep the kids busy through the meal. I usually get the salad with chicken. The guacamole isn't the best I've ever had, but its ok. The citrus dressing, though, is amazing. You can get chips & salsa or rice & beans with the salad (which to me is overkill - the tortilla shell is huge). My kids love the sweet sauces - def try the hot sauce bar - something for everyone!

Fish tacos were super fishy flavored... The manager replaced them with beef and chicken tacos immediately. He didn't compensate for the $1.00+ price difference though. Must have forgotten...

Okay Mexican food...decent prices, good service, and acceptable food. This location has a nice outdoor patio (but an awful parking lot). If you can find a parking spot, it's a great place to enjoy a casual meal with friends. They offer sangria and beer, and their chips are pretty good. They do have a salsa bar, but you have to pay for any sort of container large enough to actually dip a chip into. Nachos are really yummy! But all in all, not my favorite Mexican food place, but totally acceptable. Plus they offer a discount to teachers at my school, so that's a plus!

Totally acceptable place for Mexican food that is an upgrade over what you'd normally find at a place like this. I think a sampling of the salsa bar makes Tijuana Flats a must if you are near one.

Hola Tijuana Flats! Where have you been my whole burrito craving life? Oh yeah, only in four states! This was my first visit to this fast counter service restaurant, and it made me forget the names of two other similar restaurants that are supposedly quick and fresh. If rather wait 6 minutes versus picking "fresh" ingredients protected by a sneeze guard. Anyways.... I ordered the black bean chimichanga wet. Now, I've never lived in the original land if tex-mex, so don't fault me for the next statement, but this black bean chimichanga was the tastiest I've had- period. I was quite surprised. Their queso is much more flavorful than the white concoctions of other places. Loved it! The hot sauce bar is an experience in itself. Follow the faces to take the tongue on a spicy journey from sweet to butt-burning hot. You have the choice of three burrito sizes, and truly fresh topping. No pickled jalapeños here. I'll be coming back the next time I'm in town visiting.

It is a decent fast food Mexican knock-off. I can't say as I would go back. There are just too many of these places popping up with the same menu.

Loved it! As soon as I walked in the door, the employees were friendly and eager to help. The food is very good and fresh. The employees made sure that I was happy with my experience and my glass was full, all with smiles. I will definitely return. Thanks for a great dinner!

Two words, Taco Tuesdays. Solid Mexican Fast Food at a very reasonable price. Restaurant is not of the same quality that you would get in Albuquerque or El Paso, but does not try to be. The hard tacos are excellent. Regarding the other reviews, it does in fact have a college atmosphere, but I think that is because the first restaurant in this chain was on a college campus. The music is a loud blend of Pop, from the 70s through current hits, and this old bugger happens to enjoy that. The waitstaff is very helpful and the beer is always cold. Check it out.

Better than Moe's...worse than Panchero's. The end.

I don't get the hate. Out of all the taco/burrito places that have become popular in the area (Chipotle, Qdoba, Pachero's) Tijuana Flats in my opinion, is the most consistently great for what it is. It has the best selection, the atmosphere is fun for hanging out with friends and getting a Mexican beer, and the hot sauce bar is fantastic.

Not the greatest spot for Mexican food but definitely not the worst.

I'm glad I saw someone else review this place, because it reminded me of another bad review I have to give to another shitty cali-fusion-mex chain restaurant. My sister loves this place, why I can't tell you. Their chips are horrible, worse than the worst you could get at the grocery store, so terrible I can't even think of a brand. The chimichanga was also nasty. If you want Mexican that may be even worse than Taco Bell, make a run for this border.

This t flats is average but they are slowly improving the quality of their food and drinks. The prices are average but the staff is very friendly and always there yo answer your questions.

Terrible, just terrible. Boring, bland food complemented by horribly mixed hot sauces, uninterested service and a college cafeteria atmosphere. I have been duped a few times in eating at this chain's various locations, and each one is as silly as the next. The last time I, unfortunately, ordered the "dos black-bean tacos" and received one (1) cardboard tasting thing. I wasn't a Spanish major or anything in college, but I'm pretty sure that "dos" means 2. Ugg.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
