Actual address is 11924 Forest Hill Blvd. NOT 1924. Went there Friday night and with reservations was seated promptly. Waitress took drink orders during Happy Hour and brought chips and salsa. Chips were hot and salsa mild - which I prefer. Service was exceptional and food was excellent. Dining room and rest rooms were clean. Will definitely return.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was ok nothing special. It was pricey for the quality of the food. I doubt we will be going back any time soon. I had chicken fajitas and would not recommend them.

I love this place! The food is great, service is always fast and with a smile, and the prices are reasonable. This is a great place for authentic Mexican cuisine and the salsa is to die for, I will go there just for that. Don't worry about anything being too spicy unless you actually want it that way. I recommend the burrito supreme with ground beef!!

I work at the CVS right next door and I placed a take out order and they refused me, cause it was a hassle... NEVER will I eat there again...their food is good but their customer service is the worst I've ever seen in my lifetime...

Went to dinner with my family the Taco Salad was hideous we complained about it and was refused service at the bar stating that the bar was closed even though we had an open check 45mins prior to closing! The service is poor and no manager on duty to complain to!!!! Don't waste your time and go there!

Nice atmosphere, good food. The chips and salsa are tasty, but you only get the first basket free. House margaritas are great, but served in one of those glasses with the thick bottom so it looks like a bigger drink than it really is .... :-( All in all, it's good mexican food close to home. Servers are friendly and attentive, and food comes out fast -- hence, the four stars.

I came here for lunch once, was very good. But today i came in, place was happening, there was no one waiting for a table and i asked the hostess if we can take a booth at the bar. She said she would have to ask the manager. she left came back a while and said the manager said no??? its not the fact that we waited five minutes before she even came to ask to sit us but I'm giving you my money, i want to sit in an open booth and you say no really? this is the worst i have ever been treated in a restaurant hands down. It totally ruined the mood because i left and this is the worst yelp i have ever reviewed. My question is how does she know how much more than four people i was going to spend in that bar booth? dumb decision and poor business management. But yet people apparently accept this? wow suckers!!!

Pretty good mexican food. I felt like the food was lacking flavor but the food is also not greasy at all, which I really like. So it's a catch 22. They do put a ton of meat in the entrees which is much appreciated. Service was good, atmosphere is nice. It's pretty close to my house so I'm sure we'll go back, but we aren't in a rush to go back. It's also on the pricey side...

Great Mexican food. We loved the warm crisp tortilla chips and the flavorful salsa. The cheese dip was addictive. We could have licked the bowl. The chicken roja with cheese was very flavorful and filling. The chicken was pounded thin and grilled. My daughter enjoyed her taco salad with chicken. The server was friendly and attentive.

3 stars just for the great, friendly service they gave us. Food won't take half star. 1. Chips: great quality, they should keep it in a warmer instead reheat then before serving them. 2. Nachos: Meat was enough for the amount of chips in the plate, melted cheese does not Help the flavor, I would reduce the amount of chips in the plate and top the nachos with their white queso dip. 3. Queso Dip: Good. 4. Steak quesadillas: you really can't mess up Tortilla and cheese. 4. Beef Fajita: meat quality wasn't good at all, chewy, not grill at all, fajita depending on the restaurant should be made out of marinated grilled skirt chopped in fine slides served in sizzling plate. I would probably visit this place for their bar and desserts.

The food at the Wellington location is every bit the same superior quality as the North Palm restaurant. Their forte seems to be burritos. They serve many different ones, and they're all oversized and excellent. The tacos aren't authentic (you have to go to Lake Worth for that), are overpriced, small and chewy. Chili relleno is good enough. I'm picky about Mexican food, but make no mistake: I believe Fogata is the best in town. The in-house service has always been excellent, as long as you can get a seat. It seems Fogata de Wellington isn't a secret anymore, and it's always crowded now. Fogata de Wellington hasn't adapted to the traffic well. The food and in-house service have remained good, yes, but completing a takeout order has become a weird exercise in futility. See, I am in possession of toddlers that cannot be taken in public. They are the type of children that you see in a restaurant and lose your monocle at their behavior. We've tried beatings, drugs and hypnotherapy. Nothing works. The only restaurant dining we can do now is takeout. This is a public service. This is a favor to Fogata de Wellington. On a good day (let's say a "good day" is "Tuesday"), the phone gets answered after the 5th redial, and we're put on eternal hold, hearing happy patrons drinking at the bar, as though the phone receiver was put there as a sort of torturous hold muzak. That's it. That's the end of the story. They don't answer the phone, and when they do, I get a seat at the bar, which does me no good because I am not there. I've stopped calling Fogata de Wellington because, frankly, we can no longer stomach the disappointment. Everyone gets in a frenzy for supreme burritos, then an hour later, we're eating peanut butter sandwiches, still on hold listening to fellow Wellingtonians get drunk. I don't like greasy Tijuana Flats, I was disappointed in Cafe Tequila and Taco Bell is just too far. Now we order a lot of Dominos Pizza. Thanks a lot, Fogata de Wellington.

Love this family run Mexican restaurant. Quality food from homemade salsa and a very hot green sauce to classic enchiladas. Mole is nice and fish tacos are flavorful. A must if you are in Wellington. Silvana at the bar keeps the drinks flowing and makes you feel at home.

the atmosphere was great but I expected more from a place with good reviews. I loved the look of the place and the service but it did take quite a while for our food to get to us and the food wasnt original or full of flavor, just seemed to be cheap Mexican items. would return if I'm in the mood--not because it's so amazing

This used to be my favorite, go-to restaurant in PBC. Last night was so disappointing, having returned to the area after 3 years. I guess they have a new chef. I guess I ordered the wrong thing. Whomever is cooking the chicken fajitas: that is not how you cook chicken fajitas. This chicken was overcooked, a little on the dry side, even though it had been sautéed or prepared with some kind of tomato-based concoction. It wasn't a flavorful concoction: it was just red. Bland. This dish has no trace of the characteristic seared and charred and juicy presentation you expect when you order fajitas. There was no sizzle, and no aroma typical of fajitas fresh off the grill. These seem like they came up out of the crock pot. Awful. Disappointing. But the beer was super cold - Happy Hour 2-for-1 and the chips & salsa are always slamming. I should have sent the fajitas back & ordered the enchiladas. My son's were perfect.

Love all the Mexican decor, great salsa, great drinks, but that's about it. I ordered The Chili Relleno and the pepper was raw. They also charge $1 for extra chips and salsa orders. Asked for a little rice pudding for my infant, the waitress said I could only have the full order of the dessert. I would have paid for even a couple tablespoons of it, but they weren't willing to accommodate their littlest guest.

WHY are there so few Mexican restaurants around here ??? Stopped by this place a couple months ago for drinks only ~ then again for dinner last night. (save your time on Miguelitos in RPB.. it's closed) The guacamole was great, the guesadillas great - ordered the nachos w/pulled chicken and they were a little on the dry side. Good flavor but dry - never take nachos home but could with these! Tried the Flan and it was really good - thought i detected a small taste of coconut ?? Anyway ~ Service was good - a little slow on picking up payment. Not overly friendly but nice. I don't need my server to be crazy happy - just efficient - and she was. Will certainly go back. Enjoyed everything - next time - Fajitas!

I have tried and tried to find Mexican food in South Florida that I am in love with, and La Fogata is another restaurant that just struck out. It was just ok. We stopped by there on a Sunday afternoon and were seated immediately. The place was kind of empty, maybe two other tables taken. Their menu is just about right, not too many selections, but enough to satisfy anyone. They also brought out a list of specials, which were a little cheaper than the regular menu items. Although we did not imbibe, they have an awesome happy hour, and their beer prices are not through the roof. The first order of chips and salsa are free of course, but if you need more you have to pay. I guess more and more restaurants are moving in this direction, I can't really knock them. The chips were really good. Homemade, not greasy, and fresh. The salsa was average, it didn't really stand out. We also shared an order of queso dip with ground meat which I didn't care for. It was too runny, and the ground meat didn't taste like it was seasoned at all. I ordered the fish tacos, which I enjoyed. The fish was lightly breaded and cooked well. My only nitpicky gripe was that there was too much cabbage. The tacos were smaller, but very filling. The rice was very plain. My husband had something mole, I think an enchilada, and he really didn't like it. I take his opinion on Mexican food with a grain of salt, though, because he is really picky. My son had chicken nuggets, and he isn't picky about chicken, and he wouldn't eat it. The fries were quite good. We didn't order dessert, but three meals, an appetizer and no alcohol was $45. I thought that was a bit high, but it could be that other than the tacos and chips, I didn't love the meal. I would still be willing to give them another try, especially during happy hour.

If I could give the place a negative rating I would. I've been here a few times and while I enjoyed their food the lack of respect I was just shown has convinced me to never go again. I went with my boyfriend for dinner. It was fairly busy but upon giving out name to the hostess we were told that it would be 5-10 mins. After 15 minutes a couple comes in. When they are told there is a wait they point to an open booth and said they could just sit there so the hostess sat them leaving us standing there. When we questioned them they stated the couple had a reservation but when they walked in they were clearly talking about having to wait. So not only did they seat someone before us but instead of owning up to the mistake they lied. Not the proper way to run a business!!!

Really, TRULY good food. We recently moved from San Diego and were not expecting to find Mexican food this tasty and reminiscent of what we had back in SoCal (much less in Wellington). Their enchilada suiza and tacos al pastor are to die for!!! The place is really nice inside, servers have always been friendly and attentive (both at the bar and restaurant), good selection of drinks/beer. Great place to chill on a weeknight or to bring the family.

I have eaten here consistently for 6 years now since moving to Wellington. The food is outstanding and priced right. I usually order the mole enchilada and have never been disappointed. As a lover of Mexican food, I can think of only one other restaurant that is even close to this. It is in Chantilly VA...called Picante.

I thought this restaurant was pretty good until I went in with my family for dinner about 5 months ago and haven't been back. The service is GREAT, but the food was as bland as it could possibly be! I've had Swanson dinners that had more taste! It was quite disappointing and to be honest, I won't be back. I, too, am from California and have been looking for a decent Mexican place and am still looking. Frankly, I would not recommend this restaurant, which is a shame. The decor is nice - the bar is absolutely beautiful. I can't say the same for the quality of food, however.

How anybody rated this place 4 and 5 stars is beyond me... The drinks are the only reason this place received 2 stars. Great margaritas, great chips and salsa, but that's about it. Your better off going there spending the money you were planning on eating with in drink and going to taco bell after...

Great mexican food. Nice little place in the heart of Wellington. Great atmosphere too. They serve fresh chips and salsa at each table when you sit. Food is great. I really belive it's cooked to order as opposed to others who have frozen stuff sittling around. Highly recommend.

I've been here multiple times and have yet to be disappointed! It's a fairly quiet restaurant tucked away into the corner of a shopping plaza, although on weekends it gets packed. Upon entering there is a full bar on the left side. It feels casual, comforting, and not the least bit pretentious. The decor is colorful, with bold splashes of orange and red on the walls, while bright paintings and colorful iguanas tastefully adorn them. I like the booth seating because it ensures a bit of privacy. The staff is very friendly and the food seems quite authentic. I always go for the blackened fish tacos, just a delicious blend of cabbage, cilantro and fish! It comes with a generous portion of beans and rice. They have a good amount of vegetarian options as well. The entrees are well priced and the servings are pretty big, so you will definitely leave well satiated. They also have great lunch specials and happy hour deals! A great place to check-out should you get that mex-food craving!

Love this place. One of my favorite places with authentic Mexican food. Would like to see them open up the menu with a few new choices however I highly recommend it for great service, wonderful atmosphere, and amazing Mexican food.

Excellent food, fantastic people. This is the least expensive place we eat out in West Palm Beach County. Watch out for the green salsa- can be hot hot hot!!!

Great food, reasonable prices. If you like spicy, order the green salsa with your complimentary chips and salsa.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
