Been here over 100 times. It's one of the best spots for locals and tourists. Great food, try any of their fish entrees. You should be pleased. We always start with the fish dip and a pound of could peel and eat shrimp. Absolutely the best place to watch the sunset. It's a tradition similar to Sunset Pier in KW. Great spot to watch the 4th of July Fireworks on the lagoon too. And they have a decent selection of import, domestic and craft beers.

Must come here when my husband and I come to Vero Beach. Their foods are always fresh and tasty. Service is caring as well. Same order all the time: 1. Pealing shrimp in old bay flavor 2. Dirty oyster (MUST) 3. Smoked Fish Dip If you like fresh seafoods and find a place to watch football, this is the perfect place which having meal with beautiful river view!! Their Sunday Brunch is the best in Vero Beach as well. Get the "1st prize of Sunday Brunch", also with all different kinds of fresh foods, surely seafoods!!

My wife and I visit here almost weekly especially during NFL season we sit on the tables on the porch next to bar. We LOVE the food and our service is always nice! However I went to the bar tonight to have a quick dinner and drinks... The bar staff (John) was very stand-offish and rude , it wasn't until we asked our bartender his name that we actually began to get service fearing we were secret shoppers... If you go to eat. Don't eat at bar...

Arrived 11am for Sunday Brunch, outside is full inside is totally empty. Clueless, they take us and my 85 yr old mother in law to a high top for 6. After getting moved we are told we have to be out by 12:30 cuz all the tables are reserved for the NFL games. I can see about 20 tvs from where I'm standing. Pretty much dark and unappealing by the buffet, outside is much better. Buffet was good with many choices. Raw oysters, boiled shrimp, tuna salad on my first plate, followed by Benedict, grits, sausage hash an fruit on my main. Also had a omelet and carving station. $19.99 pp What a deal.

Great food. Don't let the unassuming interior fool you because the food is excellent. I visited Vero Beach with my 4 sisters. We tasted each others dishes and loved everything. The Chicken Marsala was exceptional. For seafood the crab cakes are huge. The clam chowder had huge portions of potatoes and clams. Yummy!

lots of people love this place. I've never had a good experience here. Tried a bunch of times. Oh well....

There was a large party probably 16 or more in the main dinning room. They were so loud we couldn't even carry on a conversation. Waitress was very good and food ok but the noise level ruined the night for us.

Food was great! I'd order 2 Tuna nachos next time and be done. Got the fish taco which was huge. Share it and try it w/o the cabbage. Food is much better than the college sports bar feel of the place. Go for the food not for the ambiance. It's still worth it. Super pissed. Waitress never asked us if we wanted dessert and just dumped the bill on us when we inquired saying it was too late and kitchen was closed. Very rude! NO effort on her part...really wanted the key lime pie.

Great location for sunset across the river. Huge bar lots of TV'S. We ate in dinning room food very good I had fresh fish sandwich perfect. Bill for two with tip mid $30's.

Was in Vero Beach for a family wedding. We were on our own for the night before our wedding and did some searching on Yelp and settled on The Riverside. After a teeny bit of confusion about where the front door was...we wound up going in a side door and walking to the front instead. We were immediately seated. Granted it is the slow season in Vero, but the hostess was friendly and seated us near a window, so we could look out at the water and at the bridge. The menu is bar food with a twist. Lots of appetizers. Their Bang Bang shrimp were delicious! The shrimp were cooked PERFECTLY. My son ordered the smoked gouda mac and cheese and that was excellent! ( I think I may have eaten more than he did)It was a very large portion too, a person could easily have that and a salad and call it dinner. For dinner the boy had a burger and fries and I had the shrimp scampi. After tasting the mac and cheese and seeing the pasta was cooked correctly I decided to "go for it" with the pasta. I am of Italian descent and can be particular about how my pasta is cooked. It was cooked perfectly al dente, and the scampi sauce was a little different than I have experienced before but delicious nonetheless. It was a garlicky, lemony, and almost creamy creation that made me almost regret getting an appetizer because I couldn't finisher my dinner. Once again the shrimp were cooked perfectly. My son was very pleased with his burger This place is a sports bar and the interior is kind of dated, but I don't always need a perfectly updated and decorated spot. A lot of the time if the vibe is good and the food is even better who the hell cares what the place looks like as long as its clean. There were TV screens all over and I understand they have bands regularly. I also understand that they regularly see dolphins and manatees, though at the time of year we were there it is rare. We didn't see any, but the food and service more than made up for it. If you are looking for a casual place after the beach this is it.

Atmosphere Great!! Service is great or slow depending on who you get and what day it is I guess. Great casual food and drinks!

Bad service waited over 45 min they told us 30 min, when I checked back they said another hour.

Food was only ok. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer had 6 shrimp for $12. I ordered the Ahi Tuna entree for $23.99. The tuna was supposed to have a Caribbean Jerk sauce, you couldn't taste it. The portion of fish was tiny. The service was pretty weak as well. We were finished with our appetizer for about 10 mins before the waitress came to take our dinner order. I would only return to sit in the bar area and get a burger. This is definitely not a seafood restaurant.

Great devil burger with no bun (gluten-free). Cool view of the bridge. Friendly service! Restrooms could be a lot cleaner. Urine smell in the lobby, fecal smell out front.

Great location. Well maintained establishment with a sort of rustic, all wood decor. Lots of flat screens to watch sports. Service can be slow/spotty. Food seems a bit overpriced. Decent selection of beers on tap. There's definitely better on the water restaurants/bars in Vero but this is unique and good in its own right. Casual vibe...but not on Thurs nights after 9ish (possibly other nights as well). The place then turns into this stereotypical early 20's crappy nightclub. It's complete w/ shoddy lights and obnoxiously loud music & clientele. Food service shuts down and a food truck pulls up in the parking lot. Lots of security made the vibe not necessarily feel safer, but in fact very ominous for us since we were expecting some sort of confrontation to occur... It's worth checking out if in the area, but might be a good idea to think about leaving soon after sunset.

On the river under the bridge with a sports bar ambience in the back. Bar food and more. We went for a early dinner to watch the sunset. You can boat up to the place, but we didn't. The place was filled with the early birders but not that busy, so we did not partake in the reported, raucous bar scene. We all got fish. All tasty and well made. I'd say, avoid the crowds, go for the water views and stick to simple fare on the menu and you won't go wrong.

Cool atmosphere, fresh fish and no fuss service. Riverside Cafe is an easy and go to place for those down in Vero Beach. There is something on the menu for everyone. I went with a salad topped with Mahi Mahi but my friends all raved about the Grouper sandwich, loving the buttery bun and local catch. The key lime pie was dense and addictive. I could easily eat an entire slice and not think twice about it. Extra points for Jake Owen eating here. More extra points for fun people watching around the bar which gets more lively later at night. I wish the waitress had been a little more patient but otherwise this local bar is a safe bet.

Great fish sandwiches and a decent beer selection. Environment is very casual and can be loud at times with the band. Some people will be throwing it down in the corner by the band, so if you want to get your dance and drink on, you could do so at this place. There is some outdoor seating, too - but the seating is right up against the window next to which we were seating so seeing your neighbor within two feet is a bit jarring. The ambience was a bit too raucous and loud for me, though. The food and beer are also overpriced.

Slow service depending on who you have serving you. Local joint with a decent menu. Excellent for the view and drinks! Definitely have to visit if you're in the area!

Great low key place to hang out and have a beer with great food.

On the intracoastal waterway right at the foot of the Barber Bridge (almost underneath it), this is one of the few restaurants in Vero that actually takes advantage of the beautiful scenery here in town. There's even a bit of outdoor seating. If you have a boat or jetski, you can pull right up to the dock for dinner. That's pretty much where the positives end. Were it not for the idyllic location, I'd give this place a 1 star. The food is terrible and overpriced, and the beer selection is unexciting. It's loud and the TVs are positioned so high up that it's not pleasant to watch a game there, even though this seems on the surface like it would be a fun place to watch a game. I'm sure this place is great if you are part of the crowd that spends a lot of time there. With better food, prices and waitstaff, I would be here all the time. Sadly, at this point, it's very mediocre and I only go when I get desperate for the waterside dining experience.

FREE entry, and a great place to hang out. I'm not normally a sportsbar kinda chick, but this place is a pretty cool spot to go just to chill out with your friends and listen to some good music. I didn't have any of the drinks here, because this wasn't our last stop on our night out and my tolerance isn't too hefty Lol. The bartenders are friendly and down-to-earth, though. Anyway, the cover band was playing some music from Third Eye Blind (Jumper), Stone Sour (Through the Glass), Sublime (Lovin is what I got), Hootie and the Blowfish, etc. Mostly just laid back pop rock-ish stuff. But they did a pretty good job. youtube.com/watch?v=7alM… And nothing beats the beautiful view of the water, since this spot is right on the river.

This place is, for some reason, the popular stop for all college kids during holidays to get trashed and hang out awkwardly. Some people are into that, but I prefer to have an enjoyable time. The bartender at the bar closer to the door (not in the room with the terribad DJ) was horrendous. He would forget orders, ignore people altogether, and was behaving incredibly unprofessionally. He was trashed by the end of the night. The beers weren't too expensive by any means, but the price did not justify the horrid service and environment. There are too many BETTER places on the island to get a drink and hang out - avoid this place unless you need bad drinks, bad music, or want to run into every person from your high school days.

I had lunch here yesterday after trying to find a non-chain restaurant to take my out-of-town friends to in Vero. This place is right on the River so you've got an amazing view. There's a text messaging club advertised on the wall that will get you 10% off of your first order, and if you become a fan of them on facebook, you can get 20% off of your next order. I expected the food to be pricey based off of the location, and after looking at the menu I found this to be true....but, the portions are extremely generous and everyone at my table thought their food was fantastic. My friend in fact commented that her burger was the best burger she's ever had (and she's not one for just giving away compliments). I thought my New England clam chowder was out of this world and my half-sized turkey sandwich was huuuuuge and delicious! Another friend of mine ordered dirty oysters for just $9 and they came with caviar, sour cream, chives, and plenty of oysters to fill him up. Not bad at all! The bar also had an advertisement for on football game days $10 for 5 bottles of Bud, and 8 wings. I'll definitely be coming for that :)

Great for happy hour drinks. Usually crowded from 5-7pm again again late at night on weekends. The view is great. Nice looking bar overlooking the intercostal. The food is usually pretty tasty. I like the scallops, the conch fritter and onion string appetizers. The fish has always been well prepared. It is a tad pricey. So I only eat dinner here once a month, but I do come for the drinks at least once a week.

I love Riverside..have a place in Vero and never miss a sunset here when I'm down visiting. Just recently revisted with a friend. Great entertainment on the back deck..band is jamming old school favorites in the evenings and the view and crowd makes a great combo. My favorite thing on the menu: their grouper medallions are insatiable. I dream about them in my sleep. Had their fresh fish of the day sandwich most recently that was grilled to perfection and my friend had the ribs which were muy delicioso as well. I always would recommend this to Vero visitors - great spot!

Cool view of the river (inter-coastal). A local feel with that tiki hut thing. Lots of tv's and sitting. The food goes from chicken fingers, $2.50 drafts to fresh grouper. I would recommend but there are better views of the ocean. If you only had one night in Vero head 2 miles down the road and eat on the ocean. Having said that I did like the place. Say hi to Courtney at the bar!

Agree with Tanya P's comments. The vibe is just what you are looking for as an out-of-towner: friendly, laid-back, on-the-water & tropical feel to this place. I ate the ribs & they were excellent ... meat came right off the bone. The margarita was solid & the clam chowder app was very tasty. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Vero!

If I had heard one more person say "Oh did you try the Riverside yet" I would have became homicidal. So for the safety of all my friends and the rest of Vero I decided I should go for a look see before my view was out a window with bars..(not the bars with beer taps either). When I first pulled up I saw the bait shop out front and thought to myself "oh brother" but driven by hunger or thirst (yeah it was thirst I'm sure) Gina and I went in. Actually we entered from the park side which puts you onto the deck overlooking the water. Even though it is very close to the bridge it is a very nice view which included lots of pelicans. We sat down at a table on the deck. We were greeted by one of the friendliest servers I have ever met. She explained the specials to us. I decided on the Blackened Grouper and Gina the steak sandwich. I also had the best damn bloody Mary I have had in a long, long time. Our meals came and to our delight were delicious. The grouper was moist, and spicy. Gina's steak sandwich was very tender. OK so I apologize for not trying this quaint "little" place before. That is what I though until I walked inside to purchase a tee shirt as I collect them. The place is not so small. I was shocked in fact as there were several large rooms. This looks like a place to catch the game. I wish I didn't have to catch a flight or I would have stayed!!!! Maybe Superbowl. I can only imagine what that is going to be like....great food, cold drinks and everyone with different opinions on why their team is'nt playing......like me. Ha hope to see you there.

We were pleasantly surprised! As realistic foodies, we knew that finding a great and inexpensive lunch on the waterfront in Vero was probably not going to happen, especially from the reviews. Yup... The bloodies were $7 but they at least used a decent mix. The conch fritters were some of the best we've had...seriously! We all ordered the fish sandwich, I had the grouper...it was quite decent, but not worth the extra $2. The highlight were the fried flounder sandwiches my siblings ordered. I live on the ocean and have only tasted fish this fresh when I caught them myself! Perfectly fried in Panko crumbs and the huge filets overwhelmed the bun! We saw the order of fish and chips go by and we vowed to be back for that next year. A huge order we could have shared.

One of the more lively bar scenes in Vero. Good for sports fans and those who like run of the mill, live music. Nothing special but a decent place to grab average-good creative bar food. I was surprised by the coconut flavor infused bread that was brought to the table. Views of the river...

Voted Vero Beach, Florida's best bar and restaurant by the Landshark Band! Think Kelly's Mission Rock goes Jimmy Buffet. Throw in out-of-towners with locals and you have a cool mix of fun people. Great fresh seafood, covered deck bar and waterfront walking. Looking at the menu, must be a great hangover noshing spot as well.

This is the place to go if you want to PAY OUT THE NOSE for a drink, get HIT ON by some drunks or obnoxious guys who think they are cream-of-the-crop or you are desperate to find a place to hang out on the Indian River to enjoy the view. Reason number three is the only one I have used to justify going there (usually because a friend suggests it and I just go along). Even the food there is over-priced for the mediocre quality you get. Sorry.... My suggestion.....buy a bottle of wine and go sit on a blanket on the beach at sunset and you'll have a better time.

We had to wait a few minutes when we arrived, even though there were empty tables everywhere. We ended up getting stuck out by the bar, yuck, we were there for dinner. Sad to say we should have just stuck to the bar, even though the drinks weren't great. How does one mess up sex on the beach? It's a fairly simple drink! Waiter took forever to come, when he did he saw I was on the phone and walked off, didn't come back for 15 minutes more. Food wasn't great. I got the mahi mahi, which seemed fresh, but they should take the "Jamaican jerk" label off because it had NO flavor at all. The black beans and the yellow rice were equally bland and flavorless, the rice was pretty gummy. Hubby got the clam chowder which I'm sure came from a can, and the the Chioppino which he said was merely edible. At $19 each for bad food it was overpriced. If you just want a beer and loud/bad music then this is a great spot on the river. I'll leave it to the snow-birds, who seemed to be having a great time.

As a restaurant -- this place deserves 1 star tops. Terrible food, awful service and just generally a nightmare of an experience. For Vero's nightlife scene however -- Riverside is one of the mainstays. They usually have loud music or a band playing, the place gets packed and the drinks aren't bad. Its definitely a little more expensive than some of the other places to drink in Vero, but the atmosphere is better, so its worth the few extra dollars. Whatever you do though, get a DD. The cops in Vero know you are coming over the bridge when Riverside closes and they are waiting to catch drunk drivers. Just get a designated and save yourself a lot of hassle. Or call Klub Car! It's SOOO much cheaper than a DUI.
