Found this little restaurant with the help of yelp and it turned out to be quite the hidden gem! Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh from the salad to the garlic rolls to all three of our dinners. If you are in the mood for Italian or just looking for great food, this is a fantastic little restaurant.

As we approached the entrance the smells of Italy greeted us. The interior is traditional Italian stone design which, with the close tables, made it unusually loud. The classical decor provides a nice ambiance, but the glass table tops cheapen the white tablecloth experience. Next time, we'll sit outside. Also, the aquarium doesn't add much ambiance. I think it is only there so they can draw water for the table directly from the tank (buy a water filter). For starters the we had the Mozzarella Capri. It was adequate, but not as flavorfully delicious as I'd like. They also served garlic rolls which were drowning (in a good way) in garlic oil and cheese. They were very good, but garlic makes everything better. We had both a mixed green salad which was fresh, and a delicious dressing on the Caesar salad. The veal parmigiana had good flavor, but not as tender as the best veal. The shrimp and scallops Oscar was well prepared, but both the shrimp and scallops were small.

My mother and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. First, seated in a very hot corner with no/little air conditioning. Then we waited 30 mins for bread and an appetizer. Another 30 mins for entrees by which time my mother was no longer hungry. She had one bite of her Veal Marsala and then took the rest home. However, when she went to heat up her dinner 2 days later, there was NO VEAL. Guess the. Us oh there it out or ate it himself. We were extremely disappointed by our dinner for which we spent $100. It was supposed to. E my treat to my mom - what a disappointment. My mom got no satisfaction when she called to complain. Will never return - in my opinion, they do not deserve another chance.

The chef needs to learn how to cook risotto. I had the short ribs and table mate had the scallops. Meats were well prepared and delicious. The risotto was 7 or 8 minutes underdone. I have been to Italy on numerous occasions. This was the worst risotto I've ever been served in a restaurant here in the US. The waitress advised that many patrons had complained the risotto was undercooked. When she advised the chef she was told that's what risotto should taste like. I know good risotto and this one was raw and way undercooked.

Having read the previous review about the risotto I now feel validated for complaining about it tonight. I too was told that the risotto should be like that. Well it's not, plain and simple. I challenge the chef to go to Amalfi Grill, The Tides, or Polo Grill to taste properly prepared risotto.

Both the service and cuisine are top shelf at this restaurant. The ambiance is intimate and charming, reminding me of small restaurants visited in Italy. Each time we have dined here, the menu selections were numerous, and the presentation and preparation perfect.

Ordered a to go pizza. Told fifteen to twenty minutes. Got there after sixteen minutes, and they hadn't even started making it. Won't use again.

The best Italian food I've ever had. You could taste the fresh ingredients and real authentic flavors. Everything from the garlic knots, salad, pasta to the dessert was fabulous. I had the linguine puttenesca but got it with angel hair instead. So good!! The rest of my family got the mahi piccata, Cajun shrimp and eggplant Parmesan and said everything was delicious. They serve just the right portions. The tiramisu was a perfect way to end the meal :) Also, the service was spectacular.

The warm appetizers are no longer a part of the menu. At the restaurant on 09/05/2014. My Penne Oscar, very very good. My wife went off the regular menu and received a very salty Eggplant Parmesan. Her meal was so salty that her eyes got swollen ,puffy . She is okay not life threading ,but no more discount meals for her. Look nobody is perfect all the time. We do plan on going back and my wife wants the Penne Oscar all to herself. 3 3/4 stars Joe M

Expectations were low for an italian dinner in south florida, but pomodoro grill was great. Waitress was very friendly, though thru her own omission, she knew nothing about the extensive wine menu. My husband ordered the filet special, which was tender and cooked to perfection, though the mashed potatoes that came with it might have been boxed. I order a seafood pasta dish off the menu and it was good. Reasonable prices, nice ambiance.

Excellent. We had the summer specials. Good food, good service at a good price what more can you say. The lasagna was excellent second to my wife's. The clam sauce was also excellent. Have a good time very nice people.

My linguine con Vongole was very good, but the service was terrible. We waited a very long time for our food and the waiter was rude. My daughter has a nut allergy and asked the waiter for clarification about whether they were nuts in several dishes. He later dropped a bowl of Parmesan cheese in front of her and rudely said "no nuts." The waiter didn't know the menu, and my daughter's dish, which was described as being in a cream broth, was simply a tomato sauce. Not worth the wait or the poor service.

This is certainly the best Italian restaurant in Vero Beach and my favorite. The food is consistently good, fresly made and excellent service with waiters who have been with the restaurant for several years. The 2 Acct Managers from our billing company flew in from Maine and said "you pick the restaurant of your choice". They raved about the food; kept telling the waitress it was "fabulous". I had mahi mahi francese, it was excellent. They both had chicken marsala. As a matter of fact, I am going there tomorrow night as a belated b'day gift from a friend. He loves it there too. Their Marsala dishes and Francese dishes are superb - their veal is tender. Their specials are always excellent. Their salad is great and so are the delicious garlic rolls. Their noted for their creamy onion salad dressing. Their homemade tiramasu is fantastic. You won't be disappointed. The only drawback is that the place is very small.

This place is amazing. We poped in on a Friday evening in April. We did make reservations...rightly so. We needed them. We had about four of us in our party and had 1 veal, 2 pasta dishes and 1 salmon dish. All were absolutely awesome!!! Servers were superb...no pressure to order. We took our time, had wine, ordered and ate leisurely. The servers were efficient, courteous, clean, well coiffed and polite. All of the food was excellent, atmosphere perfect and prices reasonable. This is one of those places one wants to go to try everything on the menu. We all will be back...sooner rather than later. Go!

Best Italian at a reasonable price in VB. Close to downtown area on the barrier island side. Had the shrimp fra diavalo. Very good. My wife had a scallop and shrimp pasta dish. Salad and bread (both very good) were included. Wines by the glass were good. Atmosphere nice and service very good.

The food was good but not great. The feel skewed a bit in the older side and they lacked an actual kids menu. Nevertheless, the staff was happy to accommodate our needs - esp my kids. The staff were a real highlight.

Had a nice dinner of Pollo Piccata and Mozzarella Caprese. Both were very good. Atmosphere and service was great and $3 wine night was nice surprise! I've got to go back and try the Mahi Piccata!

Pasta freshly made, most Italian varieties and sauces. Great use of garlic, so try someplace else if you're not a fan of the spice. Pizza baked to order features tasty thin crust and light sauce/cheese. Ask for extra to your taste. Waitress staff friendly the 3 times we've been there. Seating available under umbrellas in am intimate courtyard. Happy to do take out orders. Accept credit cards, easy parking. Personal favorite: penne with tomatoes & sausage.

Good Italian food with authentic tastes and fresh ingredients. The staff was friendly and service very prompt. My wife loved the Puttanesca (with added chili) which was a riot of color and rich in flavor, my sea food linguini fra diavolo was also really good although could have used a little more spicy kick in my opinion. Nice selection of wines at reasonable prices! Only minor complaint was the paper napkins which for a restaurant of this caliber seems a little of a false economy and because they do not have a liquor license we could not finish our meal with a much desired limoncello. Apart from that we had a wonderful evening and this restaurant is a recommended pick.

Do yourself a favor and eat before you go to Pomodoro's. The portions would embarrass any Italian. They must be trying to maximize the profits by ripping off the customer. Not a good way to get repeat business. Tomato and mozzarella salad with one leaf of basil. One very thinly sliced chicken breast for a Marsala. Too cheap to put a sauce on the pasta? Did you really think I wanted Marsala penne with my chicken Marsala? Ever hear of fresh pasta? Did you need to make $99 of profit on my $100 meal? What a joke. Don't waste your time with this place.

My wife and I had dinner here a couple of nights ago and were very happy with this "neighborhood" spot. Since it is within walking distance of our condo it makes it even better. We had a bit of a wait for a table and since they have no bar area had to stand (but they did offer a drink while we waited) until the table was ready. For starters we had very fresh garden salads to go with the fantastic garlic rolls. We each had a different pasta and both were very good, freshly made and a generous portion (enough to take home for lunch the next day).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
