Had the Mahi Mahi special (not to be confused with the prix fixe meal) tonight. Mahi was topped with 3 shrimp and 3 scallops in a wonderful sauce served over angel hair pasta with haricot vert balancing off the plate. Well worth the price. Plus, our server, Albert, was informed, personable and attentive. While we really didn't have any room left, we split the delightful chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate cake! Great meal, fantastic service, highly recommend.

I am constantly here, I must tell you. I love that in our small town we have something like Johnny D's. There are two sides, a market and a bistro divided by a coffee stand area. I go to the market on the way home and pick up dinner and feel like the ingredients are quality and not processed. The market is open 9AM to 9PM. The eggplant rollatini is our favorite. The chicken piccata is a near miss. The chicken curry salad is yummy. they deliver orders over $15 :) The bistro area is open for lunch and dinner only. I have only had salads for lunch and they were fresh and tasty.

Phenomenal food! Easily rivals restaurants in foodie cities like Chicago & San Francisco. In our big group, every dish was amazing & generous in size, but real standouts were the stuffed veal & Bourbon St. stuffed ravioli. The only minus was the entrees may take a little time to come out...but if you're looking for quality, value, and a leisurely, delicious dinner with good company, this is the place!

Based on the yelp reviews I expected more. Cobb salad was sub standard- eggs overcooked, and the rest of it was just ho hum. Service was good, the place was near empty and a little sad. I don't think we will be coming back.

My mother in law and I got take out sandwiches. I was very impressed! We both got the Mediterranean veggie sandwich with mozzarella. Yum-o! The veggies were cut thin and grilled. The vinegarette was tangy and delicious. The bread....oh the bread....crispy crust with a nice soft center. Perfect baguette!! I can't wait to try some other foods from this place!

I'm a very biased NY Italian foodie. That being said I was overwhelmed with the service atmosphere and most importantly the food. Exceptional. Special was great. Anti pasta superb. Ravioli outstanding. All in all a great experience and lovely night with my wife and adult daughter. A Real NY Italian eating experience on the coast of central Florida. Next time I must try the pizza !!!!

I have to admit I rarely give five stars but Johnny D's bistro is well deserving. I have dined at the sister location Pomodoro's on a previous visit to Vero Beach and enjoyed the food but the ambiance was a little dark and dated. We were staying in south Vero Beach and decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. They had a price fixe menu all evening (lots of other establishments have them for a very short window). Entree and a salad for $16. My wife opted for that with the penne Salome e pepperoni which was excellent. I opted for a non special of Calamari fra diavalo over linguine and a house salad. Salads were very good and the sun dried tomato dressing was excellent. My pasta was cooked perfectly with an abundance of Calamari which was very tender. The sauce was bread dipable! It could have been a little spicier but I'd rather have it a little under spiced and add pepper flakes than too much and you can't do anything with that! One of the better pasta dishes I have had outside my home in quite some time. Wine prices and pours were reasonable and the service was attentive and not intrusive. We opted out of dessert but went over to the adjoining market and grabbed a slice of amaretto cake for later. Again not disappointed! Avoid some of the over priced places in town and venture to this gem. Btw ambiance is bright, open and inviting!

This unassuming little restaurant is a must in Vero! Unfortunately, we discovered it our last night in town or I would have gone back several times. Without a doubt THE best Italian food I have ever had. Our server was delightful. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect dining experience!

Went to Jonny's on Saturday night without a reservation and was able to get seating right away, however they had constant traffic and it was off season. The atmosphere is interesting as the Bistro is on the left half of market / wine store. Seating and decor were very nice and the waiters were very attentive. We had the Chicken Parm and Veal Ravioli Saltimbocca and both were great. They had a great $20 wine bottle special that hit the spot. Overall a sure go to place.

Went here with my parents when they were in town. This is a sister restaurant to Pomodoro. A little but south but same idea, salad and bread, both really good included in the meal. Shrimp fra diavalo, veal parm, salmon with artichokes, mussels over pasta with white wine garlic. All delicious. Everyone happy. This place is connected to a wine and food market that is pretty well stocked. Prices again reasonable for VB. atmosphere like an upscale pizza place. All good.

This place is great for many reasons! The food is always good. They have a few vegetarian dishes that are very tasty. Most dinner dishes come with a side salad which is SO good. I wish the tomato dressing was bottled and sold. They have good salads for a nice lunch. The service here is probably some of the best in Vero. They are very friendly and get to know you.
