As I live in the area, I will stop by this DQ at least three times a month. Staff is always very friendly, place is always clean, and food is always cooked fresh. Yes, there hamburger meat does have a distinct taste, you either like it or not, but I've never had pre-cooked meat. You can even see the grill man place the raw meat on the grill. I always ask him not to make it well done, and he never does. Fries are great, but the onion rings are even better. And ice cream is good too. If I am going to eat the calories though, I'd rather eat a 1/2 burger with onion rings.

Stopped for turtle blizzard, ordered and paid for double everything and also specifically asked to blend halfway so the bottom would not be all vanilla, as happened once in the past. Well, ice cream was all vanilla, should have been caramel and chocolate. And the only pecans where on the top. Great job of turning upside down, but if the product stinks, who cares! Wish I could get my money back.

Food was poor. Burgers were cook well ahead of making the burger and were cooked to a leather like consistency. Fries were crisp and fresh. Ice cream.... Well it's ice cream. It was delicious. Go for the desert and skip the meal.

This place is the worst. Waited about 5 minutes to even be acknowledged and we were the only ones waiting. None of the napkins were loaded, the dude who took my order was a douche. The burgers were VERY over cooked. The store was dirty, had to look through every booth in order to choose one that was not that dirty. Flys were everywhere... goes without saying that I'd rather sleep with courtney love than eat here

A great DQ (but not the absolute best DQ I've ever been to, hence the deduction of a star). Every time I've stopped here I've consistently received great service and great ice cream. On my last stop, we ordered ice cream treats only: shakes, cones, ice cream blended drinks. Each was superb. All were delivered quickly and exactly as ordered; each was very tasty and oh, yes, quite refreshing after a sizzling day on the beach! Conveniently located with ample parking and very friendly employees, this is the spot we hit after our day at the beach prior to a nearly hour drive south to our home location. We've done it for years and we'll continue to do so in the future. This DQ satisfies and pleases us every time!

We don't have Dairy Queens where I live - not good ones, anyway, or at least not ones that are located conveniently. Oh, sure, there's that one off the 405 on the way home from San Diego. And while the signage is clearly visible from the freeway, you just never know exactly which exit to use to get there. And still, that's - what - sixty miles away? Forget it! There's a handful of others around the LA area, but mostly teeny-tiny places in mall food courts, poorly run, and never with a full menu. I found one some time ago in Simi Valley, staffed by a surly teenager who somehow succeeded in screwing up dipping a soft-serve cone. How do you screw up dipping a soft-serve cone? So I was thrilled when I saw this place. Huge, stand-alone building. Clean. Very clean. Great vintage photos of old DQs line the walls. Ya gotta love them vintage photos. Their longstanding mascot Dennis the Menace has disappeared. There's nary a reference to "Brazier." And the Mister Misty has been rechristened the Arctic Rush. None of this matters: Dairy Queen's - or in this case, DQ Grill & Chill's - charm not only remains intact; it's better than I remembered it. The food's great; the ice cream of course is even better. No review of this place would be complete without mentioning the staff: Friendliest bunch in all of Venice; possibly the nicest employees among DQs everywhere. They were, even more so than the food, the main reason I kept coming back during my stay in Florida. I presume much of the credit belongs to the friendly manager who likely put this team together. Not on their menu board, so ask for it: Peanut butter sundaes. Thanks to the gal behind the counter who recited all flavors, including the phantom ones, on an early visit there for getting me hooked on them for my stint in Florida. Delicious. Now to finally get back to the gym.

I love Dairy Queen but this is probably one of the worst ones I've been to. The ice cream is VERY soft and melts incredibly fast and most of the people working here are rude and unpleasant. I do not recommend this location! I had to leave one star because it would not allow me to leave none!
