Some of the tastiest Mexican food I've had since moving here from Denver,Co. Not southwestern by any means but good. My wife had the Mucho plate and I had the LA Bamba burrito with steak.

This place reminds of most "mom n' pop" Mexican restaurants I've been too. It's pretty stock in the sense that there is not much difference between this place and the others I've been too. I had a chicken and rice dish that was pretty good, but not good enough to warrant a return visit. If you're in a jam, this place will do, but if not, you can find better elsewhere.

2 fer mojitos on wednesday were great if inconsistent. first one strong second one weak - would like to have mixed them 3 bears style. Enjoyed the carnitas very much. Burrito and salads sampled and were also very good. Candle value for mexican in Florida to date.

This is the most un-even restaurant I have ever experienced, from excellent to lousy over the course of 5 or 6 visits in about three months. The first time we went was dinner. I had a steak quesadilla and my husband, the enchiladas (what he considers the true test for Mex food). Both were fantastic, and such a bargain. Next time, lunch, and his pick three combo was "okay" and my (enormous) chicken burrito was awful. Good sauce, but super dry over cooked shredded chicken. Another dinner, both of us had various taco combos (chicken, ground beef, pork; soft and crunchy ones) - very good. Next time, lunches that were cold and after re-heating pretty much inedible. So it is hard to know what to think of this place, very hit-or-miss.

My daughter and I had a fantastic lunch here. The Mariachi's playing and the severs were very attentive. I had the chicken pastor and it was very tasty. It was marinated in pepper sauce and it's served with chorizo and pineapple. It very tasty.

Let's first make it clear that the food was exceptional. Starting with the chips that come out as an appetizer with their accompanying salsa, to the Chili Rellenos I had and the enchiladas my wife enjoyed - it was all good. Even the fried ice cream was unique in its presentation and flavor. Unfortunately, the service left something to be greatly desired. For starters, we waited way longer than you would expect to see a waiter or waitress. And when we did, the waiter was actually surprised we were ready for our meal order, not just the drinks. The kicker was the waiter never coming back to check and refill our iced teas. Something that was really needed for me since my dinner was quite spicy. Overall, it was a great meal, great atmosphere - I think they need to work on their service just a bit.

We had a great first experience at La Marimba. After checking out the "other Mexican Cuban" place down the street which had too long of a wait (it's good but not that good) we decided to try La Marimba. We were seated promptly, greeted by our server and ordered drinks (1/2 carafe sangria) which was perfect (not too sweet). Our server wasn't overly friendly but attentive as the place became very busy soon after our arrival. The chips and small carafe of salsa was good (chips were warm and the salsa was good). I ordered the tortilla soup and chicken quesadillas both of which were overflowing with perfectly cooked shredded chicken. The quantities were so large I took half the soup and quesadillas home. My husband ordered the burrito filled with delicious steak, rice and beans. Very nice presentation and it tasted great. The staff isn't overly friendly but they are efficient and the food is wonderful. We will definitely be back.

The warm chips & salsa were good, like always. The Luna azule margarita was the best part of dinner, despite the poorly salted rim. Unfortunately we won't be returning, and this is why. The waitress was the worst ever! From the second she took our order (she just stood there didn't say a word to us) to when I said thank you & she whipped her head & rudely said what did you say? She brought us our food (fajitas) & never any plates! She plopped the plates on the table & quickly turned around. ( A while later we asked someone else for plates) I tried to cut my steak up & 1/3 of it was one huge piece... of cartilage! The size of the inedible piece was ridiculous! When my husband called her over & quietly showed her it, she didn't say a word! Finally after some silence she said, "did you want me to do something with that?" Really lady?!? When we tried to pay with $100 bill she said she didnt think she had change for it. On a friday night at a restaurant/ bar!? The food wasn't too bad but her nasty attitude ruined it for us, too bad too because we liked this place. Oh well, there's another Mexican place right down the road thats always packed with cars...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
