Great space, great beer selection (as always). Love, love their outdoor space and I want to go back when it's not pouring buckets of rain all day long. Friendly staff (and attractive, according to my drinking buddies) kept the drinks and those gigantic pretzels coming while we hid out from the storm.

To start off, I love the beer selection at WoB. I'm always pleasantly surprised by the wide menu of bottled and draft beers. Now, with that being said, the service could be WAY better. There have been two separate occasions when we walked in, saw the "seat yourself" sign, and did just that only to have to wait 10-15 minutes just to be acknowledged. Honestly the service isn't bad - once they finally come talk to you. I think the owners could consider offering to seat guests so they do not get ignored for such long periods of time. The last time we were there, we tried unsuccessfully to flag down 2 waitresses. It wasn't until one of the kitchen staff came out of the back did we get to talk to a member of the staff. He had to go and get a waitress for us. It seems like the waitresses could easily have seen we weren't helped as we had no menu or beer on our table, but maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. I'll keep going back for the beer selection alone. Hopefully they will improve their service to match the great beer offers.

This is the closest World of Beer to my house. It's surrounded by a few good places to eat, which is usually the only time I stop in. It's your typical beer bar, much like Brass Tap. There's also pub food available, but I have yet to try any. The giant soft pretzels look delicious though! I'm a member of the WOB loyalty program, which entails 15% off your beer selections as well as a shirt when you reach certain milestones (ie. 50 beers). I believe you get a shirt when you join, but I signed up at a different location (that soon went out of business) so I didn't receive one. You can also track which beers you've tried and how far you are aware from the next goal on the WOB app. The bartenders are usually attentive and you can regularly catch a few sports games on the TVs around the bar. You will also regularly find live bands playing on the stage in the back. It's nothing extraordinary, but World of Beer is a good place to stop by if you're looking for an interesting beer selection.

The manager was a complete bitch. She kept asking me not to talk to the other customers. Its a fucking bar, mind your own buisness Everybody I was conversing with said she was way overstepping herr bounds by asking me to keep to myself. I will never go back eventhough the bartender was nice

I've been looking for a new World of Beer since the one in Tampa Palms closed, R.I.P. I really like this one, as they have all the cool customer appreciation events, like the annual crawfish boil, and lots of space as well. They also have good live music, and it isn't overwhelming, so you can actually hear each other. Their beer selection is great. I would especially keep an eye out on their bottle discounts. Sometimes, I was a bit confused as to which tables had servers and which were part of the bar area, but the servers were very understanding. In terms of their food, I had their mac and cheese, and it was okay. Nothing too special to be honest. Their pretzels however looked good. The customer appreciation event food was amazing though. Their crawfish were fresh and flavorful. If you're ever looking for an event, the WoB app is very helpful.

Went here after a show at Side Splitters Saturday night and this is definitely my favorite WOB in the area (full disclosure: I haven't been to them all yet). Although they did not have my Tusker the waitress was very helpful and let me know that she will put a note in to her manager to request more stock in beers from Africa. I mean you can't call yourself WORLD of Beer if you're missing beer from an entire continent. They will get 5 stars once they get their stock together. I wish I could remember my waitress's name but we actually had 2 ladies help us and they were both awesome. It was nice to be able to sit outside too and enjoy the good weather and not have the music so loud that we couldn't talk. I didn't eat on this visit but I have ordered their food before and I remember it being pretty tasty. All in all, the music was good and the service was good so they get a solid 4 stars.

Definitely the place to grab a drink in the Carrollwood area. This is the only WOB I've been to so I don't know if they all have the same layout. This one gets my seal of approval! Can't talk about a WOB without mentioning the beer selection... Spoiler alert: It's huge! It would take years and maybe a new liver to try every one. The draft selection is larger than any other place in the area but dwells in comparison to what they offer in cans/bottles. All the servers seemed pretty knowledgable about the types of beer offered and will no doubt find one to your liking. Service wasn't the fastest on a busy night but when your relaxing with a beer, there's no need to hurry! Trivia on Tuesdays is a weekly event. Hopefully if you attend, you do better than me! Haven't had a chance to sit in their outdoor area but it seems like the perfect spot to enjoy a nice day/ evening. Phenomenal beer selection, good service, great ambiance...what more do you need?

Came by on a week day about 1 in the afternoon with my nephew. Was sad to find out they didn't open till 3. The mgr saw us looking in and invited us in (if we were only drinking and not ordering food)... which we were! about 50 beers on tap and hundreds more by the bottle! Will be back for sure!

I came here on a Wed night to have a few drinks. I am not really a beer drinker but the server was able to find me something I would like based on the 'regular' beers I like. I had the Mac n cheese appetizer and the pretzel with the cheese sauce. The pretzel was huge and the cheese was awesome. Nothing spectacular about the Mac n cheese. Also order the Cuban with yucca fries. The fries were awesome but the Cuban was very disappointing! I guess you come here for the beer and not the food! Hence the name: WOB!

It has been awhile since we have been to this WOB and I must say Hats off to you. SO MUCH IMPROVMENT! The staff was so much nicer and more attentive in comparison to the previous times that we had went John was our server and did an amazing job of making sure we never had an empty glass and if we were stumped on what to order aways had a few recommendations up his sleeve. The Zack Biss Band was also playing live and I was shocked how good they were (they looked a little young). They worked the crowed and played great songs. We didn't order any food, but have at the one in Brandon. If your looking for recommendations try the loaded tots, they are amazing! Keep up the good work WOB!

Stopped in here last night around 5:30. Turned out to be before the Thursday night crowd hit. We had our choice of tables. Over the next 30 minutes, the tables started filling up so that by 6:15 isn, you had to search for a bar stool or sit outside, which some people were doing. First, its located in a strip mall area with Chili's to one side just south of the Dale Mabry and South Village intersection on the west side. Parking seems plenty easy even with Chili's to one side. Second, if you like world beers and don't mind paying 4-6 dollars a glass, this could be your place. They have printed out menus and an electronic IPAD type menu that they keep pretty good track of what is in stock and what went out of stock. There is also an app for your phone which I found pretty useful because it can filter down by bottle or draft beer to a particular country. Third, food. Sandwiches, flat breads, onion rings and a large pretzel. My wife ordered a large Pretzel and, after it came out, there was a small run on pretzels. The food is good/okay but is ordered to accompany the beers, not the other way around. While we were there, there was some special going on in a particular set of drinks and then they had a raffle for those people drinking those drinks a few of them walked out with some kind of basket prize. High amount of traffic, meaning the turnover was quick. We were there about two hours and saw most of the people come and go and new people showing up when we left. Definitely a go to place about once every 2 weeks for a beer and some conversation. If you like drinking different beers, try out their loyalty program. you can join thru asking one of the staff

Just another WOB. Nothing special going on here. Same beers and same overly inattentive bartenders that you'd find at any other location. This location does have food tho, which I suppose is a good thing if you need some munchies with your suds. We saw a pretty impressive pretzel roll out of the kitchen. It must have weight 5 pounds, but I think I saw that there is an upcharge for the beer and cheese mustard. Seems like a rip off.

Good place for beer.. The food is over priced and sub par .. It was better when you could bring in food from outside places .. They need to totally Revamp the menu.. Casual beers for an hour is ok.. I won't come back for sports games b/c of the food ..

This WOB is like all the others with one exception: They seem to have the best customer appreciation parties. This place is tucked neatly between a lot of other great places, so it's perfect for stopping in for a drink and moving on. They did add pub fare, and they are certainly charging for that honor, but competition is stiff here. I missed the crawfish event, but made it to the previous event which kept me coming back to enjoy the live music from time to time. Since WOBs have swept the state recently and we all have one close to home, I don't see a reason to be back. If I'm at another comedy show it does seem like a fine place to start the night off.

A good WOB! Went for pre game entertainment and drinks before the comedy club. The atmosphere is befitting a WOB and the wait staff was on top of their game. John was our server and he made sure, even when it got busy, that our beers never became empty. He did have some good recommendations on beers. The live entertainment which was the Zack Biss Band was good. All in all I like this World of Beer better than the one in Brandon because it seems less corporatized. They have a bottle of the month which is always nice and happy hour specials depending on the day. Sadly WOB Brandon falls really short of this, but thats what you get when a business sells out. Carrollwooders your lucky! We will be back next time in that area!

We had a great experience here. Walked in and sat at the bar. Ordered onion rings and a local florida flight. We were spoiled with four awesome high alcohol local brews. Then, we ordered our entrees. Great food for a "bar menu". My boyfriend had a steak sandwich and I had a chipotle chicken sandwich, we both had leftovers! Our bartender, Jake, was awesome. His knowledge of beers meshed with our love of beer. Trivia started at 730, with a pretty solid turnout. We had a good time, and will return.

I was pleasantly surprised by this World of Beer location. I'm used to the prices at other locations being very high. However, this one offers a great selection of beer at reasonable prices. A group of three and I decided to come here after seeing a show at Side Splitters and it was very busy. The servers and bar staff were very attentive. They also had a good live band playing, although we were more in the mood to chat. It still wasn't too loud. They also have an outdoor patio near the courtyard of the center where it is located. Overall, a solid WOB location. I would definitely come back again.

First Time at this location. The food you could order from here was not bad at all. The down side was the service. Not great and not terrible. I feel like every world of beer has the same slow service.

Came here one evening with my childhood friends because face it, we all love beer! My friend knows all the bartenders at WOB, so it helps that we got some special treatment and good recommendations. We got a seat smack dab in the middle of the long bar & I was simply in awe of the amount of beers on tap, and the beers in the fridge. One of each please?! Just kidding. I had the Seadog Bluepaw Blueberry Wheat Ale with fresh blueberries! It was so good, I was amazed that I never tried it or heard of it before! I also got a local Tampa beer, I don't remember the name though - still so delicious with an orange slice! We also got a variety of beer shots (didn't know they existed either), all were so good & the beers really complimented each other. Also, this night an artist from Nashville was playing, and he really set the mood for my time there! Overall, great ambiance, awesome beer, and great service! Now I wish they would open one in California!

I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I was invited to meet some friends for a frosty, cold Adult beverage tonight, and that sounded like a great idea. They selected the Carrollwood location of World of Beer (or WOB as known by the regulars), and so off we went. World of Beer sits on the end of a retail strip mall along Dale Mabry in Carrollwood at the intersection of South Village Drive, and within walking distance of my neighborhood Catholic Church. (Forgive me Father...) This retail center includes a Chili's, Ocean Blue Sushi, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, a comedy club, etc. The interior has an attractive brick wall decor, dark wood furniture, padded bar stools, and some terrific 60" high definition flat-screen TVs with plenty of sports programming. World of Beer also has outdoor patio seating which was packed tonight, so we sat inside and enjoyed the air conditioning instead. They also have live music a couple of nights a week. The star of the show is clearly the beer, and Holy Wow these folks have an incredible selection! A quick glance of the beer menu and the overstocked beer coolers made my jaw drop. The menu says over 500 beers, and I don't doubt it at all. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that they had about 50 beers on tap, and the remainder are chilling in the coolers. Lots of craft and imported beers. This is clearly not the place to come if you only drink Budweiser - just climb back up on your horse, Cowboy, and go find a different watering hole! If you're a regular of WOB, then you should check out their Loyalty Club program where you can earn T-shirts, promotional products, and a liver transplant depending on how many different beers you drink. They have similar programs for students and faculty, as well as for those who work in the service industry. Tonight I tried the Florida Avenue Ale which was a wheat ale with a little citrusy taste, and then got Magic Hat #9 which has been a favorite ever since that rainy night in June 2012 at the Lowry Park Wazoo Beer festival when I first met Brett and got introduced to Yelp. *lifts my glass to him* If I was more of a drinker I'd likely make this my usual hang out since I like the vibe, the friendly service, and the incredible selection.

Yes I am a fan but I must say I was thrown off by the lack um I mean the no food! I did come to fine out though that you could order from whatever food spot was near so thats cool. Like, why not have some Chilis while drinking your beer without having to go to Chilis. lol I am not a beer drinker at all but they did have some beers that were pretty sweet and tasty. Lol but come to find out they had Moscato what a dork for not looking at the menu. We came here for my bosses suprise 40th birthday. It was pretty cool meeting back up with all the Infiniti folks we had a cool time once again. The set up is real cool and the fact that they have like every beer is awesome. They had a live band that was pretty entertaining to watch and they also have an outside area. The drive is not that bad from south tampa and the service there was really friendly and helpfull. I know we will have to take another trip there one day to take beer shots and to just drink our hearts out because its pretty cheap to. Welp until next time yelpers adios.

This is usually the place I go for friends birthdays. I really do not drink beer, however they do have Woodchuck (apple cider) beer that I do really like. I know people say it's not real beer but whatever it's as close to beer as I will drink. They do not service food here, although you can order from near by resturants and they will bring it in. Chili's is right next door and they are always bringing food over. Oh and they bring in bands every now and again. Teh last time I was there they had a live band and they were really good. Play a mix of songs and kept the mood up beat and cool.

World of beer is truly as good as it gets for chilling on a patio in the heart of downtown Tampa. I had a great time sipping a beer and chatting with my pals in the relaxed atmosphere. Thursday night it's ladies night where pints are only $2.50 for select drafts. I had the Florida Avenue: super crisp, refreshing and perfect for a summer night. When I asked the waitress for a menu, she stated they don't actually serve food at World of Beer but I could order delivery from any of the nearby restaurants. How cool is that?!?! She handed me two different menus with all types of sandwiches, pizzas, salads, tacos, etc. I ended up ordering from The Deck (some cheesy garlic bread plus a buffalo salad) and it was good bar food. Not great, but the munchies served their purpose. I'd recommend World of Beer to anyone in Tampa or just passing through.

Perfect place to go if you like beer and live music. The couple of times that I went, the live music playing was pretty good. Cover bands, but I like them, so that's fine by me. Another plus is, that while they only recently began offering some appetizers, they do allow you to bring in food or have it delivered to you. On their menu, however, the onion rings are pretty good! There is obviously a large selection of beers. They have a special each month where you can get a glass with the beer of the month, so that's nice if you like to collect glasses. Some of the beers are pricey, but not outlandish if you are familiar with all the imports and microbrews that are commonly priced in the same area. Their menus do a nice job of describing the different beers if you are not familiar with the different types. They also offer some kind of membership which I do not know the details of but I will likely join that eventually. The biggest con to this place is that it is a bit small, so unless you get there early, it may be tough to get seating. The parking lot fills up quickly, too. I also would have liked the wait staff to offer details on the membership without me prompting. Overall, this a really nice place to spend a few hours, especially if you can get a seat.

A good place to start for a night of debauchery!! Had a tasty beer but then we started to get rained on and took our selves down the street. The band left just before we did so again always a good time with the many choices at World of Beer!

Love, love, love, love, love. My response to this place is probably best described by my review of the other location I've visited. ( yelp.com/biz/world-of-be… ) Beer is great. Atmosphere is great. Service is great. I don't think it gets better than this? OH WAIT! They have a rewards program (which, unfortunately, the serving staff has never mentioned): "To get your [loyalty] card, just ask your friendly bartender or cocktail server at any time during your visit. It's only $15 to sign up. You will receive a free WOB t-shirt, and the beers on your tab will immediately count towards your journey to becoming a beer legend." Note: Photos coming soon.

Looooove the beer selection. And I also love the fact that I can bring food in or order delivery right to my table! It's a fun spot to go with a big group. However, the service is very hit or miss. I've been there many times and sometimes the server is fabulous and sometimes we can never find the server. We end up going to the bar to get drinks ourselves. I find that obnoxious when the beers are far from cheap! I purchased their loyalty card, which is a fun program since it keeps track of all the beers you have tried. You can earn prizes after trying a specific number of brews.

My local watering hole. Can you get any better than live music, 500+ different beers (including 30+ on tap) and within 100 yards of a sushi bar that is open until 3AM and a great pizza joint? All of this makes WOB Carrollwood a great place to hang any night of the week.
(5)
Mike S.
It's WOB...pretty standard. Bartenders know their stuff, and make solid recommendations on little "additions" to different beers (i.e. adding a splash of a grapefruit beer to a certain few bitter IPAs). Live music that I've caught there has been on point. Both times I've been, an acoustic guitar & a drum set were all that was needed to make this cover-band-duo shine. Menu looks amazing, thought I haven't tried anything yet...guess I'll head back in the next few days to try out the Guinness sliders or GIGANTIC hanging-pretzel-thingie.

Happy hour is one dollar off draft beers. The night we were there they were tapping a Dogfish Head 120 minute which I am a big fan of. There is a nice outdoor seating area that we enjoyed with the service of a waitress. They have tons of beers on tap and even more in cans and bottles. The beers are a little pricey but the service is good and they allow you to sample beers. There is no liquor or food but there are plenty of places for that nearby. Overall, this is a great place to go and try new beers. Grab one or make a night out of it.

They're stocked full of some of my favorite beers and I love their selection in case I'm feeling risky. They do offer wine as well. Their cigar selection is lacking but I don't exactly go to a bar for cigars. My only qualm with them is the customer service. If I'm sitting at my table and haven't been serviced in so long that I'm considering going to the bar myself, we have a problem. Also, I can't bring big parties unless I want to sit with the riff raff at the bar. The patio tables are big enough to fit maybe 3 people comfortably. When I bring 5 people or more, I have to struggle to find a place for them to even set their beer down. Overall, it's a great place to go.

This is a great World of Beer location. Great atmosphere and good live music. As with all World of Beer locations they have good specials, especially if you are a loyalty member. My only negative is that sometimes the staff can be more than a little slow. This is usually just a few of the waitresses and usually just during extra busy times.

BEER BEER AND MORE BEER!!!! I'm not big on beer but this place is preety damn kool. It's loctaed in a big plaza with some of everything in,shopping ,dining, comedy club, museum the works so WORLD OF BEER fits right into the mix. It has a nice look it feels like a fly ass bar with the big cushion stools and dark oakwood tables, big 60' tv's had the GATORS game on (IT'S ALL ABOUT THE 'U') nice setup. So on to the beer being that im not big on beer and Vikki doesnt drink beer at all we was looking at the menu crossed eyed until i noticed they didnt sell any liquor haha funny right it is the world of beer so i dont know what i was thinikng. So i told the bartender i only drink coronas so he gave me two shots of two different beers and i choose one and he did the same for Vikki and she chose the raspberry beer and she was happy with that me i just started picking anything like to hell with it let me try whatever because i never seen soooo many didferent types of beer in my life from all over the world. Only thing that stop W.O.B. for getting 5* is they dont sell any food!! Not even fries not even hotdogs not even sliders not even chips and dip..you get teh point but what i did here is that they allow you to bring food from the surrounding bars/restaurants into there place which i thought was kool. So im glad i tried WOB it was pretty dope and thats coming from a man that dont like beer too much.....

First time at World of Beer for a friend's going away party. The selection was pretty decent, however the waitress Melissa was extremely rude. It was her and another waitress taking care of our table. My husband asked for another beer and it was never brought out so he asked the other waitress and she brought it right away. When the check came it had an extra beer on it. Our total should have been around $40 with all the other drinks. I brought the check to Melissa and advised her she charged us for 4 of those beers instead of 3. She rudely responded "sweetie he had 4". I responded that it was only 3. She snatched the receipt out of my hand and out to stomped outside where our table was. She said to my husband very rudely "I will take this off but I can assure you you had 4". Everyone at the table looked at each other in surprise on how rude she was. She could have handled the situation a lot better. Needless to say we will not visit this establishment again due to Melissa's attitude. We would rather spend our money elsewhere where they value and trust their customers.

I tried to order several items on the food menu and they were not available. The staff behind the bar does a lot of standing around. I'd like more interactive people. The place is tiny!

Very good beer selection. Service was good. Live music from up in the rafters was enjoyable. I can't think of anything negative to say about it.
(5)Darryl B.
Ashley was great! Very knowledgeable of the 40+ beers they have on tap. Get in here and have a few cold ones!
(5)Ryan L.
My local watering hole. Can you get any better than live music, 500+ different beers (including 30+ on tap) and within 100 yards of a sushi bar that is open until 3AM and a great pizza joint? All of this makes WOB Carrollwood a great place to hang any night of the week.
(5)Mike S.

(4)Max G.
(4)Cayci W.

A great place to hang with friends, and they even have the ciders and sangria I like!
