Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I've been eating at this spot since it opened back in the mid-90s. I've never been of fan of their pizza though. I find it to be really bland. I actually go for their cheesesteak deluxe! Mushrooms, onions, green peppers and shaved beef that is perfectly-coated in white American cheese and topped off with some pizza sauce! It's a serious-azz sammich. Sadly though, Westshore Pizza suffers from inconsistency issues across their other locations. I've ordered this same sandwich from the Dale Mabry location (used to be a Lenny & Vinny's), the old store on Sligh & Dale Mabry, the old spot at Ehrlich & Lynn-Turner, the Hanley spot and the West HIllsborough store, and none of them were even close to the original spot on Bay Court. In fact, all of them were quite different from EACH OTHER. It's really sad, so I only eat at the Bay Court spot where I know I'm getting the good stuff.

I come often and the pizza is greasy but delicious. They have a cool deal where you can buy a huge beer mug and bring it with you and get refills for cheap. My complaint is the service stinks. I've been here numerous times and only a couple of times has everything gone right. They can never seem to get my order right or my food sits waiting to be brought out. This place is so close to being a great joint if they could figure the service part out!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I don't know why I have never tried it before. I guess I was expecting a more Pizza Hut quality from it. But it was much better! It was a New York style pizza similar to one of my favorites, Paci's, which happens to be closed on Sundays. I think I have a new favorite pizza joint for football Sundays. Bonus - they have deals on pitchers during games.

took me 7 years to go to original. felt like a biker bar. walked in.. did not know if i was to sit.. or order or what. not because of the shortage of staff sitting around playing candy crush... but because of well the staff too busy playing candy crush... found out i was to order at register.. then never really told they were to bring it out.. so I went back to check on the one slice after 15 minutes passed.. turns out i was 30 secs early.. sent back to seat.. and then a young kid went out to room and called my name... what got me.. I was the only one in room... its sort of easy to deduce.. then another couple came in and then he came in and screamed their name.. now he already knew my name and seeing how there were only two tables.. I would seem to guess that it was their item. so that was it.. screaming kid calling out name.. and other staff ignoring you.. and just incoherence. pizza was ok.

Westshore Pizza is really good... Especially for the price! Quick service and sweet deals, just don't order mushrooms on your pizza. Sadly, I believe they use canned mushrooms which is just gross. Otherwise, I'm a fan! "The difference between your opinion and pizza is that I asked for pizza."
(4)Crystal F.
I love this place. It is hard to beat 98 cent pints of Stella. The cheesesteak is as authentic as it gets in the South. You can enjoy the atmosphere of a family style restaurant and a sports bar rolled into one. They have a great deck space if you like to sit outside and sitting parties larger than 10 is usually not a problem. Quite a wait for a pie on a Friday night but people are waiting so it's worth it. If you like your pizza crispier on the bottom the pizza is not what you want. A plethora of other delicious menu items are available. The ham and cheese club is a monstrosity and comes with all the fixin's. Definately try this place out.

Get the special and it is so tasted nobody has this good of a special that tastes this good! Huge!!!
(5)Steph M.
Great steak and cheese! Delivers!
(4)Pamela V.
Horrible mushy pizza. This is NOT NY Style...the crust is too thick and bread like. NY style has firm well cooked crust and the top should be browned. I ordered mine extra well done and it came out with cheese completely white with nothing browned about it. It could have been a frozen pizza ....that's how unauthentic it is. Also it was a Veggie Lover pizza and had hardly no veggies. I'm never going to any Westshore Pizza place again.
(1)John F.
Next time I will just order from Papa Johns. The crust was thick and the pizza lacked flavor. The wings were ok.
(2)Andrew L.
The go-to spot for philly cheesesteak in Tampa. Sure, there are those that might question the authenticity. Go back to Philly. Lot's of TV's and decent beer pricing. A great place to watch the game, the race, the match, etc.
(5)Wilson R.
I was visiting Tampa and ordered from this location twice. I placed both my orders online without an issue and delivery was fast! The first time I ordered, I got the mozz sticks and a chicken parm sandwich. I had high hopes because when I order pizza, I compare it to places back home in NJ (I live in VA now though). The chicken parm sandwich was okay. I just wish I could of had an option to add extra cheese. The mozz sticks were the same as what I can get here in VA. The NJ mozz sticks having different breading on it. The second time I ordered, I ordered 2 large pizzas and some garlic bread. The one pizza I tried tasted incredible. I thought I was eating pizza from the Jersey Shore. My wife said the same thing when she bit into her pizza (we got different ones). I wish I would of ordered the pizza the first time around. Overall, the food was good. If I lived in Tampa, I'd order from them again.
(4)Shane F.
Poor service. Long delivery times. Attitude problem with employees/managers. Decent food, but it's just not worth the hassle. If I am giving my money to someone, I would at least like to be shown some respect, if not appreciation. They charge $7.99 for a vegetarian sub...more than any other sub they serve. DUH. The meat is the most expensive item on a sandwich. Why would you charge MORE for a sandwich with no meat? Who is the mastermind behind that decision? I will take my business elsewhere. Taste of Philly? Maybe. Attitude of Philly? They nailed it.
(1)Mary B.
Westshore Pizza is sooo tasty! It is a nice, big, thing pizza with so much flavor. The bbq chicken pizza is definitely my favorite. It has so much flavor, and is amazing. They have a great eat in special for a 1 topping pie and a pitcher (of beer or soda) for only $10. How can you even beat that?! The slices really are big, and can feed a big group. I usually eat 2 pieces and am completely full. I love this place!
(4)Jennifer P.
Attempted to order for deliver....curt "please hold"....7:40 minutes later, I hung up. Nice.
(1)Laura H.
Pretty good pizza. Delivery was quick and they give a lot of options when you order so you can customize your pie easily.
(4)Dave Y.
The pizza&cheesesteak are good by fl standards but not like philly. There large pizza is actually a medium and there xl is a large.plus the 2.50 delivery charge is ridiculous on top of the already inflated prices. All in all its better than dominos or pizza hut but thats not saying much.
(2)Victoria A.
Westshore pizza! I have been coming here for a while ever since I use to visit. My cousin use to work here part time so we get the hook up. There garlic nots are ohhhh so yummy but there pizza ehhh I've had better but thats a different review. Cool place to come to if near by for lunch.
(3)Maria C.
Friday nights offer $10 pizza & pitcher special. We love walking up there after baseball games or a long week for a casual night out with great pizza!
(4)Elizabeth B.
I am sitting here in complete shock as my husband just got off the phone with this establishment! About a month ago we placed an order and the delivery time was 45 minutes. After AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES my husband called to check on the order. They said it should be delivered any minute. 20 MINUTES LATER he calls again because the food still wasn't delivered and they told him the delivery guy was JUST walking out the door. At that point, completely frustrated, my husband told them to cancel our order because we would have been waiting for about 2 hours (the restaurant is 20 minutes from our house) for our food! Now, my husband called to place an order and was questioned about a "problem" we had last time we ordered. The manager told him that he lost $37 because of the cancelled order and that from now on we would be told that it was a 2 hour wait to prevent future losses??? What the hell?? How unprofessional and RUDE! Tonight, they lost much more than another $37. Unbelievable!
(1)Anish Z.
I live down the street from this one- the original of the now chain. I knew this would be a hit from the beginning. Great deals at lunch 2 slices and a coke for under five bucks. the cheesestakes are pretty good too... pizza is new york style which is the way I like it. yum!
(4)Courtney M.
I really love the pizza and Stromboli from Westshore Pizza but the employees could really step up their game in regards to taking delivery orders over the phone. I ordered a custom Stromboli tonight and it was incorrect. After paying a $3.00 delivery fee and tipping the delivery man $3.00 I was really disappointed to discover an incorrect order. I called to let the store know and received attitude and a very rude demeanor from the "manager" Riley. He got very short with me and hung up on me. I will not be ordering from Westshore ever again.
(2)Robert D.
First time at Westshore Pizza and not impressed. Wait staff does not seem to care that you are a paying customer at there establishment. Not rude just indifferent. I would at least like a little effort to make me feel welcomed. As for the food....ordered two Italian subs and was VERY disappointed with what was served. It was 95% bread, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions 5% meat. Can get a better sub at Subway for $5 as opposed to the $8 charged here. I usually give most places a second chance but I do not think it would be any different if we went back so I will cross this place off my list. To many other places we can go that appreciate our business.

The wife & I have passed this place several times and wondered how it tastes. Today we decided to order for dinner and have it delivered. Ordering online was very easy, and about 30mins later there was a knock on the door. I ordered a medium with bacon, Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms, and tomato. The pizza was really good! Yes, the mushrooms were canned, but I didn't find it to be a big deal. The slices were big! As for the wings, I combined BBQ and medium sauces. I didn't realize I did this when I ordered(I just chose 2 flavors instead of splitting the order like I should have online), but they came out ok. Taste was decent, but the wings themselves weren't very juicy. In terms of size, they were ok. I probably won't order them again, but I am curious to try some of the other sides, their cheesesteaks, and some more of that delicious pizza!
(4)michelle l.
Not bad for non-chain delivery. Also, you can order online, which is a nice convenience. Pizza is not really NY style (the crust is too thick). Also, I think the mushrooms are canned, not fresh. However, it is tasty. The buffalo wings are spicy and perfectly vinegary. Even after being trapped in a styrofoam delivery box, they held their crispiness. I tried the eggplant parmesan sandwich as well. Half a sandwich is the size of a normal sandwich, so don't order a whole one unless you are starving. It was good -- slightly toasted bread, yummy sauce, and decadent, salty cheese. All in all, this place isn't bad. It's not great, but I'm feeling happily sated, so I'm rounding up a solid 3.5 to 4.

This is as close as it gets from being NYC. People. Reminds of the pizza place as a young niña in Washington heights. Thank you for bringing back emotions. I USED TO LOVE THAT PIZZA SHOP AND GLAD A PLACE THAT'S LOCAL COMES 99.99% close to it. Go yankess! #memories #nyc #nycretiringintampa
(4)David b.
The pizza is almost dominos quality. Papa johns is better. Crappy sauce, not enough cheese, and the cheese they do put on has a strange texture. The crust is tasteless too. They call it NY style but is not even remotely like NY style.
(1)Janalee K.
We have been loyal customers here for a few years however today was not so good. The pizza was not the same, dry crust that was definitely different and not good way less cheese than usual. But the biggest disappointment was they raised the price of their pizza and pitcher special they raised it $3.00 since last week. That is crazy we understand inflation and all that but $3.00 in one sweep instead of gradually raising the prices. I think that it might be time for us to start checking out some other pizza places in the area.

TOTAL JERKS October 30th, 2013 around 10:00 It was late at night, I was locked out of my car and my daughter was with me, no one else was around except the 5 or 6 employees in the store. I asked them if I could borrow a broom, or mop or anything with a handle so I could hit the unlock button on my car, they would not lend it to us, because they were too busy-although the store was already closed. So we had to sit there for an hour until someone drove by saw we needed help and drove home to get a broom. It took 60 seconds to get the car unlocked. TOTAL JERKS who would not help a stranded lady with her child in the middle of the night because it might make take 60 seconds form their day. I HOPE THIS PLACE GOES OT OF BUSINESS. When I called toe woner the next day he was just as much a jerk as his employees.

This Used To Be A Great Location......Last Pizza I ordered was "SALTY" could not even eat it. I ordered Steak Sandwiches Today....Have go to back on my history....and "THEY DID NOT SHOW UP" Called to ask "Status" THEY HUNG UP ON ME. What happened to this place? I am so Disappointed....
(1)Steve C.
Ordered 24 Chicken wings they were re-fried tasted very old. Terrible selection of draft beer, nothing mainstream Bud light miller lite etc. pizza was ok only reason we made it to 2 stars. This was eating in can't imagine what the take out delivery quality is. Won't be back
(2)Natalya C.
I do pick up only, call in advanced like today my pizza is always hot and ready! It's great pizza under NY standards and great price got a coupon for $10.99 a 18"inch one topping...works for me...better that any large chain...always small and local for me!
(3)Tina H.
I am a big fan of their draft beer specials and anything on their menu. It is a fun place to hang out with friends or grab a group of people and watch the game. Staff is funny and my orders always come out quick!
(4)Shana H.
I really didnt know what all the fuss was about this place. Ate here with some friends of mine. I of course started off with trying the pizza, i ordered the 2 slices with a drink. A veggie slice and a tomato with cheese slice. Im pretty boring with pizza toppings but i figured i cant go wrong if the pizza is really good here. Well my friends ordered theirs before me and we all sat down at a table. The waitress brought their pizza...she had an attitude that was uglier than a pissed off baboon. Like she'd rather be skined than be at westshore pizza serving customers. It didnt matter...it was her loss of her tip. So about 5 minutes go by...still no two slices for me. My friends were nice enough to wait till i had my pizza so we all could enjoy eating together but then another 5 minutes go by. I felt bad because their pizza was getting cold. After checkin on the order, my two long awaited slices of pizza finally was brought to our table by our lovely cold hearted grinch of a waitress. Yay we can enjoy our pizza! Not really...mine was luke warm, tough, the cheese tasted stale.Im pretty sure my slices sat somewhere forgotten, collected bugs, and got very quickly cooled off by the rush of blasting fans that they have by the front door. Iv'e tasted better pizza that was thrown into chef mike and nuked for 30 seconds. At the comfort of my own home. Maybe i should have ordered something else but for a pizza joint, first thing comes to mind is the pizza. I also discovered after a few forced down bites that there was indeed a little bug that apparently drowned itself the cheese and gave up on life. My friends said thats it! We got up left the pizza, made a complaint, got our money back from the uneaten bugged slices. Two things that this place could really brush up on, the service and the pizza. I dont think a pizza chillin on a shelf for who knows how long taken out and then reheated is considered appetizing. That's what gas stations do. Not pizza joints! This place should not be known for pizza. I would be embarassed. Dont think i'll be coming back here...ever.
(1)Elizabeth C.
This was horrible! The pizza took forever to heat up,the staff wasn't friendly THEN there was a bug in the food!
(1)Rob T.
Great beer and pizza specials as well as tasty heros, hoagies, subs or whatever you like to call them. This is the original location, get your Philly on here. Personally, I'm a fan of the deluxe chicken Philly myself, esp. If you're limiting your hoove intake. Git' some.
(4)Michelle M.
Bland pizza. I just don't get the fuss... my co-workers love Westshore Pizza, but to me it is just a disappointment. I never eat the pizza by choice, but was forced to when we ordered some pizzas during an office move. Had I had my choice of pizza I would have ordered elsewhere. The pizza and beer are cheap if you are on a budget, but I am no longer in college so I can afford "adult" pizza. The fact that they call this NY style pizza is a joke. Where is the fresh basil and mozzarella?!
(2)Tonia C.
Great cheap pizza. I got a large pizza and a pitcher of Yuengling for $15. Lots of good quality TVs if you're in to football. The patio is large and has TVs as well. Very casual atmosphere. You can even grab a pizza by the slice. Update: Same great value but I went on a game night and it was crazy packed! It took a long time to get our food and to find seats. I would recommend to avoid it on big game days if you are trying to eat dinner and find a seat. Especially because parking is limited and there is one bathroom.
(4)Serena R.
The best pepperoni pizza I have ever eaten. I'm not a foodie by any means, but this is a place I would highly recommend.
(5)Jenilee A.
The deluxe Philly cheesesteak hits the spot. I first tried a bite of a friends who lives in the apartments just behind the restaurant. After trying it I had to return a few days later for one. It's really really good. Messy though from the cheesy goodness. They also have really good pizza. I think I'm hooked to the Philly's now though.
(4)Carrie D.
Pizza is way better than dominos or Pizza Hut. Really good sauce. It's an institution here in south Tampa and for good reason. Fun for the family and great pizza
(5)Mark V.
Love to visit every time I come with the awesome sports atmosphere & awesome food. Good to either grab a quick slice or a big pie. Whenever I want to catch a game with some friends we'll go & have a great time
(5)Annabelle C.
The ear in pizza deal was great - 1 large 1 topping pizza and sodas, and we added a salad -- $25. Not bad. The pizza was huge. It was a little greasy but it tasted great. The salad was disappointing-- they used the interior of an iceberg lettuce head for the "greens" - which were mostly white pieces and done of the lettuce was bad.
(4)Brad S.
The red sauce is scarce, and the cheese is below average quality. So the taste of these pies is very mediocre. The crust is a bit too thick, so you feel stuffed after a slice, never mind after two. There's a slight hint of garlic. The interior decor is clean and has been recently upgraded. They do feature some ridiculously cheap draft beer specials on awful domestic type suds. If you are in need of a pitcher, it won't cost you much. The entertainment is sports on about 100 TVs scattered everywhere. Personally, I could not care less, and find all these TVs a bit too much. You can find much better pizza in many places relatively nearby, but this is okay in an emergency.
(2)Todd W.
This Westshore Pizza was always a steady option when I used to live and work nearby about ten years ago. On my first visit in a long time, I was pleasantly surprised that little had changed here and the interior had even received a quality upgrade. Specifically the dining room, which looks very clean and comfortable with plenty of modern televisions on the walls. As a fan of buying pizza by the slice, I could always count on this location to offer that and I had my choice of multiple pies right up front just like it was ten years ago. Two slices with plenty of toppings and a fountain drink for $6 and no complaints on customer service or the taste of the product. (No, it isn't the "best pizza ever"...but it gets the job done and sometimes you just need pizza that accomplishes exactly that at a fair price.) In my very brief time waiting for my slices to be heated up, I did notice some of the ridiculously good prices on draft beer. Seriously, I think I saw that you could get 48 ounces of select drafts for $4.99 and refills were way less than that. I might have even seen something posted offering $1.25 drafts as well, so they are pretty loose with the beer in this place and, for that alone, they should be commended. While my days of sitting around a pizza place getting sloshed went away about the time I visited my last Blockbuster Video, this Westshore Pizza is clearly one heck of an option for those of you who still have what it takes to throw down a lot of cheap cold beer and now have an active Lyft/Uber account for a safe ride home.
(3)Kalvin K.
My office somehow always orders pizza from Westshore Pizza. I wouldn't say I am a pizza snob, but being from NYC, good pizza is dear to my heart. I would not say Westshore provides that same feeling. The pizza's crust and sauce are just mediocre at best. If it weren't for my office ordering it all the time, I probably would not eat it. On a positive note, they do deliver very quickly...
(2)Chris W.
Ordered a large cheese pizza, took over an 1.5 hours to deliver, so needless to say, was not warm. Wasn't even that good. There is a 3 dollar delivery fee. This is what I paid for? Haven't ordered from them in years and definitely will not be again. NY NY pizza is so much better without that delivery fee.
(1)Leighann S.
I always enjoy the pizza at Westshore. I also like all the big screens that show all the football games on Sunday with the big tv showing the Eagles game (since I'm a fan). I didn't like the medium wing sauce but the wings were meaty. I've been here many times and love all the specials that they offer. I will continue going back.
(4)Fabian M.
One of those 3.5 stars for me. The pizza is more than A-OK! The service is average and I don't have any complaints. It is very convenient and efficient. Convenient because they have a lot of pre-baked pizza that just needs to be reheated in the oven and it's fast and it's a good product (not for the pizza snob). The fresh baked pizza is very good, their tomato sauce is not overpowering and the cheese is abundant. The crust is thin and crunchy. They have very attractive deals specially the ones that include beer. The location in South Tampa has a lot of TV's and they are very accommodating to play whatever game you're looking for.
(3)Jade T.
If a half a star was possible.... Please save your money and time! Our took over an hour to get cold & raw food delivered. Never again! Once was enough.
(1)Dixie C.
Our order showed up "warm", not hot. I had ordered wings that were extra wet but when they arrived they were dry with a small side cup of sauce. However, that cup had come open in transit so instead of extra saucy wings I had wings with zero sauce. I called the restaurant and they said they send out another order. I guess I figured given the circumstances they would put a rush on it. Nope, 45 minutes later they showed up. Dinner was over and I was not hungry anymore. I didn't even get an apology from the person I spoke to when I called it in.
(1)David C.
Walking in it is very noticeable that this is a sports themed pizza joint with a great layout, good food and excellent service. The newly renovated interior makes this place very inviting. Numerous flat screen tv's makes it possible for customers to watch programs or games of their liking during their visit. The staff here has been nothing less than helpful, they are very nice and patient with customers too. Especially ones on their first visit, like myself, perusing the menu trying to figure out what to get. I have personally dined here twice and the service was prompt. I picked up a to-go order for my co-workers which consisted of multiple bags of food, and one of the employees offered politely to help carry the order to my car. The food is good, the pizza is "new york style pizza with a philly twist". The individual slices are large and are available for customers looking for a quick lunch or just wanting to try different topping combinations or flavors. The pizza was thin but crunchy with ample toppings and packed with flavor. The philly cheese steak is one of their other claims to fame. Although messy, the beef has excellent taste as long with the grilled veggies that come with it. I felt the sandwich was a tad overpriced but it was very good. All in all, Westshore Pizza is worth a try if you are looking for someplace to grab a quick lunch, watch a game with friends, or just wanting to try a different type of pizza that breaks away from the monotonous chain restaurants many people are very familiar with.ENJOY!
(4)Daisy F.
I used to love this Westshore but have been disappointed the last few times we ordered. They've gotten the order wrong, delivered cold food and were totally unapologetic or helpful when we called them. I won't be ordering from here anymore. :(
(1)Yuki I.
Cheap beer & decent food . Cant beat that. Just don't arrive when it's busy.
(4)Wes S.
The lunch special is good, $6 for 2 large thin crust slices and a 16 ounce drink. The slice was very thin and crunchy, the sauce wasn't too sweet and wasn't overpowering. Actually, none of the flavors were overpowering, borderline bland maybe? I don't know, I enjoyed it, I'll be back for lunch at least bi-weekly.
