This is definitely a hidden jem that is worth checking out. We came across these guys via their booth at the St Pete Saturday morning market and decided to stop in for dinner with the fam. Half market of fantastic ingredients and half dining room, the entire place was spotless. As we sat down, we were warmly greeted and started off with a few flavored teas which were all delicious. My favorite by far was the Chai tea, but the hibiscus, lemongrass, and green teas were also very good. The food! We started off with the dumplings, chicken satay, and spicy fish cakes. Each was expertly prepared, visually appealing, and tasted great. My favorite was the spicy fish cakes, but was very happy with all three. We were told by a friend that we had to try the Tom Yum soup, and man was she right! Delicious and a must have! For my main entree, I had the lamb green curry which again was perfect all around. The consistency, heat, and freshness of the ingredients all made for an amazing meal. We finished off with the lemongrass creme brule which was the perfect way to end such an epic meal. We will definitely be back!

Enroute to court, quick lunch, no. Small place with a big crowd. I was able to sneak in. Ordered tom yom pork soup which is an app but really it's big enough to be an entree. That was superior along with the cold Thai tea. My only gripe is the AC needs working. It is wayyyyyy toooo hot for all those people in such a small place. So I went back to work a bit sweaty after Lunch. That's the Reason for The four stars. No pictures taken because I was too damn hot.

We sat in one of the tables in their adjoining room. The server was very friendly and prompt. We ordered the lemongrass tea and the jasmine green tea (both unsweetened). The server kept our glasses filled which was much appreciated since the food was spicy! We ordered three things to share: Dumpling Appetizers, Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Panang Curry. 4 dumplings came with the order and they were delicious. I really liked the texture of the dumpling skin. The dipping sauce was sweet but not too sweet. We requested both entrees to be spicy (not thai spicy but spicy) and it was just spicy enough for us. Both dishes were beautifully plated and definitely plenty to share between the two of us. I did find the dishes a little sweeter than I would have liked but other than that, it was spiced well. I found the rice too be too soft and mushy which is not how I like my rice cooked. I did like the chewy texture of the pad thai noodles. Overall, I would come back and try something else on their menu to find my favorite dish :) Bathroom was clean.

I went here for lunch with a coworker. The location is such that if you aren't looking for it, you may drive right by. The restaurant is small and appeared to be divided into a store/deli on one side, and a restaurant on the other (all the same place). Everyone was in the restaurant so that's where we sat. The menu is very small, and by small, I mean it has limited selections. We tried the Pad Thai and a curry dish. Both dishes were excellent, and had just the right amount of spice (not too hot but not too blah). We also ordered the dumplings which were unique but tasty. My only complaint about this place is the service. We were seated promptly then waited for 5 minutes or so, at such time I got up and had to hunt down the server. The server was leaning on the counter talking to a coworker while we sat there without drinks, and without placing an order. I appreciate a bit more prompt service, especially during lunch time. Once I found the server she seemed annoyed that I interrupted, but oh well, she'll get over it, and if she doesn't, I probably don't care :-) The dining room was also a bit on the warm side (they had an oscillating fan going). This place still gets 4 stars from me despite the not so stellar service because of the good food.

Very personal experience! Food was great and definitely worth coming here! True traditional thai food here!

Made a left from the Westin Hotel and BAM!!! Small Thai cusine, friendly service, and DELISHOUS food. Authentic with a mix off healthier choice, bold flavors and satisfying. They serve no MSG. Small restaurant a group of 4 okay not more than that unless you want to squeeze. Food took awhile but worth the wait. Awesome, will definitely come back!

Following Melinda M., I have to check this restaurant. My wife and I have joined Nick S. in the restaurant and try variety of the menu has to offer. This is a restaurant that next to the market. It has cute interior decoration. The restaurant is close at 8 pm which mean we have to get to the restaurant before 6:30 pm. We have order two appetizers and 3 main entrees. The first appetizer is the chicken satay. Although the satay is not on the skewer but it have the typical yellow ginger spice for the seasoning. The peanut sauce is sweet instead of mild hot for the dipping. The chicken is well grilled and not dry out the meat. The second appetizer is the dumpling. The dumpling in Chinese is sui mei. The pork dumpling is usually three part components of ground pork, ground or mince shrimp and mince water chest nut. This restaurant serves with two part shrimp and ground pork over slice ginger. You have to eat it with the ginger overlay the dumpling and increase the sophisticate of the taste which this restaurant has provided. The first main dish is the Tom Yum with mince and slice pork noodle soup. I have asked for the Thai hot. I can see Nick need a lot of water after he has the dish. I have my head sweat flowing while I am eating. It is sweat good. The mince pork prepare correctly with seasoning ground pork. The second dish is the pad thai. The dish is served with peanut sauce and three jumbo shrimps. The price of this dish is in the high side, however, the three jumbo shrimps make up for the price. This dish is OK. The third dish is the pan seared sea bass. This dish come with fillet sea bass over the soy sauce and accompany with the black bean rice. The sea bass is seared but a little dry. However, it is well season. Overall our experience is great. The service is a bit slow. However, after all other customers left, we were served in full attention. Tonight, we did not have a chance to try the lemongrass crème brule since they don't have it. This may be the item to try next time.

Fantastic Thai food!! This is that little hole in the wall restaurant that you always hope to find but rarely do. This is worth the trip to Town and Country! I have recommended the restaurant to many people!

Ok, this place was really good! I've been meaning to try this place for sometime and finally got around to it today. I met a friend here and we were pleasantly surprised. Parking was a bit of a pain and they were quite busy inside (very limited seating). Once inside, my friend and I looked over the menu. She has a pretty severe gluten allergy and when she informed the waitress, she was surprised to Hear it was no problem at all. They even carry gluten free soy sauce. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my friend had the stir fry veggies. Both were excellent! Fresh, decent portion and high quality ingredients. We both agreed this was a great choice and I place we would visit again.

Seriously the best Thai food ever. I'm completely got throw off surprisingly good good excellent food!!! #thaigourmetmarket #thaifood #bestthaifood #tentfood #wiregrassmall

I love love love this place!! Everything I have eaten here has been amazing! The taste, the presentation, the service - it's all first class! And even more convenient that is it 5 minutes from my work. Come here!!

My delightful Yelp friend, Melinda M, convinced me that I should join her for dinner at Thai Gourmet Market on a recent weekday evening. She didn't have to twist my arm very hard as I have had this placed bookmarked for quite some time, and was thrilled to have such an expert guide at my side. Thai Gourmet Market is a small stand-alone building along Memorial Highway in Town N' Country, about mid-way between the Veteran's Expressway and Hillsborough Avenue. If you're coming from the Vet's then it's relatively easy to pull into their small parking lot, however if you're coming from the other direction then you're at the mercy of the heavy traffic on Memorial to let you turn left. My GPS tried to bring me in the back way on Town N' Country Boulevard, but that brought me to a dead end in a vehicle storage lot. Nope, the only way to get there is via Memorial Highway. The building contains a fully-stocked Thai market that offers cooking classes, with the restaurant off to one side. The restaurant area is tiny, as in two tables and a couple of high-top bar seats and a carryout counter. Thankfully they have opened up an adjoining room which adds about ten more tables for diners. The menu may seem limited in scope, but Melinda and I found our entrées to be excellent, so no complaints from me. We both started with Thai Ice Tea which is blended with condensed milk and sweetened with Turbinado sugar. I spotted my favorite Tom Yum soup, and ordered a bowl of that. The soup was spicy with slivers of pork, very fresh vegetables, and a heaping serving of Udon noodles on the bottom of the bowl. The noodles were something new to me compared to previous versions of this soup from other restaurants. It made the soup very filling, and perfectly blended the spicy broth with the hearty noodles. Not realizing that a bowl of the soup would be an entire meal, I also ordered a serving of Shrimp Pad Thai, which was a deconstructed version of this delicious dish. The peppers made this entrée quite spicy, and since I was already full from the soup, I opted to take the Pad Thai home, and eat it with a box of Kleenex sitting nearby. The flavors were delicious, although the spiciness really opened up my sinuses, so I was glad for the Kleenex. This dish was spicy, but not Thai Hot, and so I can only wonder what would have been awaiting me had I asked for Thai Hot. The food was delicious and made-to-order with very fresh ingredients. The menu has a lot of the traditional curries, basil-infused dishes, pan-seared fish, chicken satay, pork, shrimp, and crabmeat dumplings, spicy pork or chicken salad, and a variety of vegetarian dishes. I will definitely go back to explore their market, learn some more about their cooking classes, and have some more delicious Thai food.

It would be easy to pass this place every day from work and never know about the delicious food and pleasant service provided within. Five of us had a wonderful meal this evening starting with the Tom Yum soup, which was outstanding and could easily have passed for the meal by itself. We shared Dumplings, Chicken Skewers and Spicy Fish Cakes, and all were presented beautifully and tasted great. We all plowed on to entrees of Pad Thai Chicken, Green Curry Shrimp, Basil Curry Lamb, and Stir Fried Rice with Chicken. Each were perfectly prepared, were proportioned just right and tasted super. We ordered different teas to share, which included Jasmine, Lemongrass, Chai and Hibiscus teas, and the exotic flare added to the fun. Tbe topper was a Lemongrass Creme Brulee that wss light, flavorful and hit the spot. The place is impeccably clean, bright, relaxing and the service was very attentive, efficient and pleasurable. No doubt, we'll be back time and again!

The Basil Chicken and Blue Crab Dumplings alone are well worth a visit to Thai Gourmet Market, this was the perfect dish, just make sure to get it hot and yes pay a little extra and add the egg, without the egg you gotta deduct at least half a star, it compliments the dish so well and it's cooked to perfection. Don't forget the dumplings, the blue crab was just special. I'm not used to getting black rice when eating Thai food, not sure if it's optional or not, but it was a pleasant surprise, black rice is rare, you don't see it enough in restaurant menus which is unfortunate. It's not only delicious but it's better for your health. so this was an added bonus IMO. Wifey ordered the red curry lamb, didn't find it to be as good as the Basil Chicken, couldn't really taste the lamb like I wanted to, but still a solid option. The curry sauce was excellent, FYI-(they sell both the green and red curry sauce at the restaurant along with local honey) I didn't dine in on this particular evening, but if I have to critique the establishment, I'd say it's a bit on the small side, I can see parking being a real issue during regular traffic. There's not much curb appeal, had it not been for Yelp I'd probably ride by and not realize it's there, that's the honest truth, but these things are pretty minimal in my eyes. They could also use a take out menu, just saying... Great experience overall, not sure I'd recommend dining in, but certainly ideal for take out, glad to find a good Thai joint in the area, I wish Thai Gourmet Market much success.

I hereby pronounce Thai Gourmet Market the best Thai restaurant in the Tampa Bay area -- at least the best one that I've found. I tried two dishes: the basil tofu and the tofu pad thai. Basil Tofu: This was the star of the night. Everything about it was delicious. It had the standard ingredients -- vegetables, tofu, sauce, and rice -- but they were all high quality. Most impressive, they served me black rice. Tofu Pad Thai: This was good and HUGE. The size of the meal was my favorite part. It came with a lot of good ingredients; it wasn't just a bowl of noodles. It wasn't quite as good as the basil tofu, and it was a little too greasy, but I still liked it. As a side note, good luck interpreting the menu. It's kind of confusing. Stick with the basil tofu (or chicken or whatever) and you'll be fine.
(5)Larry H.
Foods good but online price for pad Thai was 4.00 less than when I got there and would not honor. Disappointing for first time customer...
(2)sydney r.
Food very salty. Say base in StirFry Veggies left my tongue stinging from salt and sodium. Dressing in slaw too sugary. Service nice enough. Paper towel for napkin. Really for a $40 dinner! Will not recommend
(2)Misty F.
Thai is my favorite food and I travel every week for work so I've had it in so many cities I can't count. This is one of the best Thai food experiences ever. The service is great and it's a cool little house-like building with a restaurant on one side and a market on the other. The food is the star though. So fresh and fragrant and delicious. Excited I used Yelp to get me here in the first place!
(5)Amanda M.
We decided to try this place because the reviews are so wonderful. The service is really excellent. Very helpful. I liked the food. I had Chicken Red Curry. It was good. Not amazing. It was weird to have it served with black rice. That really threw me off. We tried the lemongrass and thai teas. Didn't care for either. My boyfriend had a spicy pork dish that he didn't really care for.
(3)Tom H.
FRESH, tasty and the right amount of spice... Basil chix and a lemongrass tea. Very good, will be back.

Came across this place the first time last year driving home on Memorial Hwy. If you blink, you'll miss it. I've been here several times since then. They are open Tuesdays thru Fridays only since they are at the farmers market in Tampa and St Pete Market on the weekends. Mondays are inventory days I was told. If you are ever at the markets on weekends, stop by because they serve different dishes than at the actual restaurant. The restaurant itself consists of a few seats at the counter and like two tables inside so big parties would be hard to accommodate. One small part of the restaurant is used as a store selling some Thai items and their sauces. On my visit today I was told the extra expansion on the right will be used as a take out/to go with items prepackaged and ready to go. That'll be good since at lunch time parking is pretty limited. Now on to the food. I've had the pad thai, basil shrimp and tom yum soup from the restaurant and all were very good. The Tom yum soup has a tangy, spicy flavor to it which happens to be how I like my noodle soups. The menu is limited, but what they have is done well.
(5)Kevin G.
Wow, so happy I found this place. I ordered a large lunch of iced lemon grass tea, tom yum soup and green curry. The tea was refreshing with an interesting flavor (but I'd probably go with the Thai tea next time). The tom yum had all the flavors of a classic Tom yum soup but with a little twist. It had udon noodles (which I don't think I've ever had in tom yum). It could have been spicier but all the ingredients tasted fresh and good quality. The green curry is where the meal really shined. The sauce was flavorful and sophisticated. Again, not as spicy as I'd like but it was so delicious it didn't matter. I really liked the black rice served with it although I would have liked a slightly larger portion. I ordered with shrimp and they were large and juicy. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
(5)Tonya B.
Very nice cozy spot. Very clean. They only serve teas, no sodas. I had the hibiscus tea. OMG to die for! I had the Tom Yum soup and ground beef salad. The best thai food hands down. I will be back. You should check it out too.
(5)Melissa V.
This place was good and you can tell when you walk in that it is a family owned restaurant. Though I was not a big fan of the Pad Thai, my husband had the pan seared fish and he thought it was good. Service was good and prompt and we may be returning if we are in the area. Not bad.
(3)John P.
I had the Basil Lamb the other day along with a fresh Thai ice tea...! Delicious, fresh (ingredients) and flavorful. The meal was very satisfying and I will definitely be coming back to try their Sea Bass and Curry! Cheers
(5)Yisha B.
I have been searching for a legit Thai restaurant since I moved to Tampa 2.5 years ago. Aside from the Thai Temple around here, this place is the next best thing. They have a rotating menu so it's not always the same thing served every time. I got the shrimp pad thai and it was amazing. Loads of flavor, fresh bean sprouts, and generous portions means I'm definitely coming back for more. The price is a little but more than you would pay at other Thai restaurants nearby but is totally worth it.
(5)Vikash K.
Don't recommend! If you're about organic food this place might be for you. But they don't serve white rice it's all wild rice ( black rice) along with real selected menu. Def didn't like it. Reviews made me stop by but not a fan or maybe it's not a place for me. The noodles were ok, not the best and only have Pad Thai no other noodles or other options. Thai basil rice was only the black rice which just isn't very Thai like -_- ... Eh I just didn't like it.
(1)Kayla D.
Seriously awesome. We stopped in and had the noodle bar. Ended up being the Best soup I've ever had. Large portions. Friendly service. Customizable. We have a huge to go box. Can't wait to eat or for supper.
(5)Joe Z.
Sweet Thai tea, dumplings and a special red curry with LARGE shrimps. I Highly recommend that you eat here!
(5)Cynthia P.
Quick service, delicious chicken pad Thai that is very filling, and very refreshing Thai tea! I'm glad I searched on yelp, I would've never stumbled across this place otherwise. I highly recommend for some authentic Thai cuisine :)
(5)Meaghan B.
Wonderful service, food and cozy feel, I loved it, I always love Thai, but this was above and beyond!
(5)Greg T.
Wow! What an amazing dinner! The food was quite easily the best Thai I've had in Tampa. I ordered the Basil Chicken / Prawn with Egg and the flavours were so incredibly fresh with the perfect amount of spice. Not only was the food unbelievable, but the service was great too. The owner was happy to have a chat and clearly has a passion for his restaurant. I will definitely be back and am going to make it my mission to try everything on the menu before I leave the US.
(5)Kylie K.
Thai Gourmet Market is an upscale Thai restaurant. The restaurant uses high quality ingredients and serves large portions. The restaurant is furnished with dark wood and beautiful plants. However, the food is not authentic, and the restaurant does not pretend to serve authentic Thai food. The owner explained that he studied Thai cuisine and developed a recipe that accentuated the best that Thai food has to offer. For me, this approach meant taking away the deep, rich, savory taste of Thai food and replacing it with healthy, lightly-spiced vegetables and dry tofu. To confirm my suspicions of non-authentic Thai food, the restaurant served black rice with the Basil Tofu dish (as I understand it, in Thailand, black rice is used mostly in desserts) and Thai iced tea in a mason jar. The food was decent in general, and I would eat at the restaurant again, but I would advise other Yelpers from going to Thai Gourmet Market expecting authentic Thai food.
(4)Lizard G.
Come hungry! Very good sized portions and the staff is super friendly. Parking is a bit challenging so try and carpool if coming with friends. Dining can accommodate any sized party. They have an awesome variety of Thai teas other than the usual Thai iced tea. A definite return and must for the Thai foodie
(5)Joe Y.
Great service and yummy food!!! Looking forward to returning in the future. Had the Pad Thai and the Thai Iced Tea. Both were very good.
(5)Jamie J.
Excellent food. Walked in not expecting much, given the place's size and the overwhelmed demeanor of the server, but was pleasantly surprised. The establishment was clean and nicely decorated. The server, while stressed, displayed a positive attitude. Food quality was AMAZING. Sea bass cooked to perfection. Sauce was very rich and severed with proportional amount of vegetables. And the dressing, I have got to get that salad dressing. Thanks again, I'll definitely be returning.

A couple of weeks ago, I called a few minutes after 7:30 to place a to-go order, but the phone rang and rang and rang, so I assumed they closed early. The following weekend, we enjoyed an order of dumplings at the St. Pete farmer's market and they were absolutely delicious. When we got our dumplings, I tried a taste of the red and green curry and I can honestly say that the red curry was the best I've ever tasted - the flavor was unreal. I was dying to get it ever day since I had that little taste. But I'm disappointed to say that my to-go order of the red curry with tofu wasn't nearly as good as the one I tasted at the farmer's market. I ordered the dumplings, tom yum soup, basil prawns, and red curry with tofu. The dumplings were good, but I wish they came with the bed of sauteed kale that I had at the market - it added such a depth of flavor. The tom yum soup was very tasty. The basil prawns was probably my favorite dish of the night, but I was really disappointed that it only came with 4 prawns. They were cooked perfectly, but they were the size of average shrimp - and I would have expected to get more than 4 with my meal. If you're sharing with one other person, 2 shrimp per person just isn't enough. The red curry was good, but I think I just had crazy high expectations after the taste I had last weekend. I like that they serve black rice as I usually prefer a heartier healthier rice, but I felt that it took away from the flavors of the dishes. I could be wrong, but that was just my impression. If only I could get that red curry I tried at the farmer's market...it was truly incredible.
(3)Raymond B.
The owners are so lovely! The food is simple and divine. There is a simple menu, However this does not mean to say that the taste are not complex. The red rice provides just the right texture and warmth to the dish. With the egg added, the yolk adds just a hint of velouté that masks the heat of the curry. It is too bad this is just a short stay in the Tampa area. Would recommend the drive for a change up from Orlando.
(5)Amanda H.
Delicious food and great service! We had the chicken satay, dumplings (my 5 year old ate all 4 of them!), the chicken pad Thai, Tom Yum spicy pork soup and Thai iced teas. Amazing!
(5)Elizabeth D.
We sat and the counter and chatted up Ian. I always love their dumplings at all the street markets. This time, instead of pork, shrimp and crab, it was all seafood with fish instead of pork. Delicious flavor, not too "fishy" and a nice change of pace. For my entree, I ordered the big soup (tom yum soup) and asked for medium spicy. It had just the right amount of kick to it and had plenty of meat and noodles. It was a very satisfying lunch and just what the doctor ordered for a sore throat! I left with a tingle of chili oil on my lips and a happy belly. Now that I work down the street, I'll definitely be in often.
(4)Jacob C.
We had the Pad Thai and the Basil Stir Fry, both with chicken, and the dumplings to start. All of it was absolutely delicious and the server/hostess was very warm, friendly, and funny. We also got Thai Tea, which I really enjoyed despite the fact that I'm not usually a tea guy. You can watch the cook prepare your food right behind the counter and the restaurant is beautifully covered in art and products that are sold in the market next door. This is now my new favorite Thai restaurant. I strongly recommend that anyone with a taste for Thai give it a try.
(5)Arnel U.
The all in one dumplings were very good! I highly recommend that as an appetizer. This place reminds me of a small mom and pop restaurant with a homely feel. I had the Red Curry Chicken. It easnt spicy as i woikd like, but the flavors and the textures were exquisite. They served the chicken curry with Brown rice cooked to perfection. The service is phenomenal and the food is awesome!

Food was Bomb and tea is super healthy. If your craving Thai but don't know where to go, this place won't dissapoint you.
(4)Jess J.
I visited Thai Gourmet last week and loved it. I went by myself and decided to sit at the bar (non-alcoholic) and leave tables for other guests. The owner was very friendly, walked me through the menu, and really showed his passion for what they do there. He could not have been more enjoyable! The food was phenomenal; I ordered the blue crab dumplings, and the basil dish with pork. You could tell it was not a run of the mill thai spot, everything had wonderful flavor. I could't leave without getting the classic mango sticky rice desert, which was also delicious. I can't wait to visit again and try out more dishes.
(5)Steven S.
I would give them 10 stars if I could. I had the lemongrass tea and it was wonderful. The service was fantastic. I wish I would have gotten her name for my review, but it's a small restaurant so maybe you will get lucky and get her too. I then at the recommendation for my server got the fantastic stuffed dumplings followed by the most wonderful green curry with lamb. On my way out I noticed that they jar their sauces and I purchased all 3. A red curry, green curry and satay peanut. I am so happy that I tried this place, but very sad that I must return to California and do not know if or when I will get to return.
(5)Stephanie V.
This Thai restaurant and market are in an unassuming plaza next to a used car dealership. When you walk in, there is a quaint seating area and shelves with products on the left, the hostess towards the back, and a store area on the right. The owner is a man from England who spent a lot of time in Thailand. When he opened the restaurant he hired only thai cooks so the food is authentic. We both ordered pad thai as they were out of the salad we wanted. You can choose between, mild, medium and thai hot. We both opted for medium but it really wasn't very spicy. The ingredients were definitely fresh and the portions were generous. The owner told us that they will be offering delivery soon and are getting their liquor license so they will be able to serve alcohol as well. All in all, a great little spot!
(4)Amber G.
The first visit was really good. Everything is so good. However the second time, food is not that delicious compare to the food we had first time. Don't know why.
(4)Kevin F.
I hope you like basil... because it seems to take up half the menu. Other than the 'Basil All The Things' portion of the menu, there are a few dishes us basil-haters can enjoy. The green curry and red curry are both great, for instance. Overall, it's a pretty small selection, but everything seemed to be of a good quality.
(3)Bryan B.
I forgot this part on my previous review....and I'm thinking "how could I?" The restroom had no soap...this is the only bathroom and I assume is the same one that employees use....YUCK. And after we told the waitress that the curry was not very good and how undercooked the eggplant was, she reached down and grabbed the remaining eggplant off the plate and started rolling it around between her fingers and the put it back in our plate. Double YUCK
(3)Kat E.
Fabulous! Discovered their Pad Thai and soup at the St. Pete Saturday market.
(4)Shauna M.
This place exceeded the expectations of our whole group. It's beautiful and clean inside; the server was very friendly and quick; and the food was AMAZING!!! We were all impressed with how fresh and gourmet all of our entrees looked and the flavor blew us away. Try the pad thai and have the hibiscus tea...mmmmmmm. The owner spoke with us about how he believes in fresh ingredients, no preservatives, and no MSG. Absolutely will be back. They deserve the full five stars!
(5)Rob O.
I am not given to hyperbole, nor is "extraordinary" a word I employ lightly, but last night I had just such a dining experience at the Thai Gourmet Market. The food itself was, not surprisingly, everything that others have lauded: fine seasonal offerings, entirely fresh, local ingredients, exquisitely prepared. What made it extraordinary, however, was the singular co-owner, Ian Brown, who is wonderfully obsessed with serving the best Thai food imaginable. When someone brings that much passion to an endeavor, it permeates everything, and one could feel the attention paid to every aspect of the experience. And did I mention that the prices are entirely reasonable? I am not a Tampa resident, but if you are or if you find yourself nearby, don't dare miss the Thai Gourmet Market.
(5)Nicolette G.
The food was good and the ingredients seemed fresh. The only reason I took 2 stars off is because the selection on the menu was SO SMALL. No Tom ka kai soup with coconut broth (spelling ?) And NO penang curry my 2 favorites. I ended up getting the red chicken curry which was ok, but I prefer panang.
(3)Michelle D.
This place really surprised me when I dropped in on a lark. The food was fresh and flavorful. I got the pad Thai as that is my base to start with at any new place I'm checking out. It was balanced well sauce-wise (not too much or too little). I told myself I wouldn't eat the whole thing but I couldn't resist. Can't wait to get back again with friends so we can share different dishes and appetizers.

Amazing restaurant and great food. Very classic Thai food. The chef is the owner and makes authentic Thai cuisine with passion. Very friendly. Great prices and very affordable and reasonable. Good vegetarian options. I myself am a vegetarian. Ice tea is the best. Green curry is superb and authentic. Must try the food here..!

It was our first night in town and everywhere had long lines except the Thai Market. We tried the Thai tea and it was interesting and unique...definitely worth a try. The food was great and Lana our server was great. We were glad we stopped in.

My wife and I were looking for a healthy, new restaurant when we found Thai Gourmet Market. The prices were great, only eclipsed by the food. Everything was made from scratch, and the teas are fantastic. Highly recommended!

Amazing Thai! Had the Pad Thai and dumplings. Rivals Wat Mongkolrata Temple which in my opinion is the most authentic Thai quinine in Tampa. If you like Thai try this hidden gem, it will not disappoint!

I like this place a lot. Small family style, very friendly. Price is reasonable, and good is great. Clean, and very well prepared. Expect a little bit more for Thai curry, but good enough for a meal.

Tried this spot tonight and loved it. The flavor is spectacular. While I waited for my take out order I sat at the counter and spoke to a gentleman who seemed to be the owner. He was extreamly friendly and took the time to tell me about the restaurant and their cooking style. He mentioned how serious they were about no MSG, and how they pride themselves in delivering great quality. I asked him about the Thai tee and he explained it to me and was nice enough to make me small serving so that I could try it, it was delicious. My family loved the pad thai including my 4 year old. The basil rice with chicken was also delicious my 4 year old ate the large pieces of onions and kept saying how "nummy" it was that's how good the sauce was. We will definitely be visiting often .

Yummy Thai food, quality you can taste! Friendly owners made me right at home, providing a valuable service and enjoyable sustenance.

Wow! I felt like I was back in Thailand tonight at Thai Gourmet Market. The food was divine and the service was outstanding! Really made us feel welcome and at home, which is how we felt in Thailand:) To start we ordered the Thai tea and the Hibiscus tea, both refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. For starters we shared the dumplings and the soup (so flavorful!). My husband ordered the Basil Pork (their take on Pad Kra Pao) and he loved it! I had the Chicken Pad Thai which was HUGE! It was so delicious! Tasted like the real thing and not the sloppy saucy mess that some others try to pass as the real thing. We will definitely be back and recommend it hands down! From a couple that has been to Thailand, we can vouch that this is the real deal!

I went to this restaurant the other day since the reviews were good, and I loved it! I ordered Pad thai chicken, it had so many fresh veggies and strong flavor, very tasty and healthy! My boyfriend ordered thai red curry, served with salad and black rice. I liked curry too it was very flavorful and I could tell their red curry paste was homemade. I had pad thai in another restaurant a few days ago but I just can't wait to go back to this restaurant for pad thai!!

Just got introduced to Thai Gourmet Market's famous Chicken Pad Thai and Thai iced tea....OMG, I feel like a crackhead...I just can't get enough!!! I tried one other place in town, but didn't like it. Thai Gourmet Market uses the freshest ingredients, and no MSG! I look forward to the first Sunday of every month in Hyde Park's Fresh Market, so I can get my fill! Double my order, please, because I am going to need 1 to go, LOL!
(5)Colin O.
This place is amazing! Tons of gluten free food, all but one item. It's really my first stop in Florida when I travel here and my last place on the way out. A MUST for Thai food here.
(5)The Stig ..
Simply put the best Thai food i have had...Owners are awesome & friendly...The best dumplings YUM!! A great place to have a great meal.

Welcome to the new secret of Town N Country! Now I am a bit upset that the fresh produce store and Cedar Lebanese is gone, but what has replaced it is great. I've had issue with getting to Thai Gourmet Market because it closes at 8 pm. But now that I'm working from home, I can finally enjoy it for lunch or an early dinner. So on my first Friday on this new schedule, this was my first stop. As I walked in, a bit late at 3, the staff was sitting down for their own lunch. However they quickly stopped everything to serve my needs. Just like Cedar's, the interior don't leave a lot of room, but there is enough for a few tables, a counter, and some additional chairs. The main hostess, as Lyman mentions is from Bangkok, was personable, friendly, and willing to explain everything, which I enjoyed. So I got a whole table to myself, and looked over the small menu - which is the only reason this place gets 4.5 stars. Good news vegetarians and vegans - all the dishes come with a meat-free variant. On the menu was Basil, Pad Thai, Green Curry, Red Curry, and a few more specials of the day - a soup, a spicy pork dish which sounded really good, and a seabass dish. I went with the Basil Prawns - which she mentioned is their most popular dish. Partially because I was the only one there at the time, the food came out in minutes with black rice. She explained that its just an organic rice, and I enjoyed the taste of it. On each table is the spice carafe, which I greatly enjoyed. The food tasted fresh, and there are signs that say no MSG, and she mentioned that there was no refined sugar in the Thai Iced Tea, only natural sugar. Score. Before I left I ordered some dumplings - 4 for $5, and checked out the small market pantry. A few sauces, which good to know as I'll need to reup my Sriracha soon.

I just tried this restaurant for the first time and I ordered the red curry with chicken to go. The dish was some of the best curry I've had with lots of yummy veggies. My only gripe is the small menu, because what they have is SO good, but I have a few favorite thai dishes that weren't on the menu. Great experience though!

I was a lil disappointed when i got to this place and all they had was the basil chicken cooked. It was well in the afternoon time frame and I was really craving some red curry or some green curry but nothing was made that day but the basil chicken or shrimp. And it seemed like they didn't want to make it either! I went because the reviews were good, the pics made the food look great and it's 2 mins from where I live! I guess I'll try this place again another time I won't count it out just yet

Went first time tonight. Check in with Yelp and get a free Thai Tea and its really good~! Pad Thai and Dumplings were really good. My Thai wife was in Heaven with the food so that says it, but she of course asked extra hot and she is still smoldering with a big smile~! He is from Wales and she is from Bangkok. Well decorated cozy restaurant, classy and clean. Good staff. We are hooked and will bring our friends to entertain. They close 8PM and are closed during the weekend etc as they have food booths at local Farmers market Tampa and St Pete. She also teaches Thai cooking. ......

Love this place.. I stop here every single time I am down on business. Pad Thai is amazing
(5)Juan A.
Visited with family, high quality food at a very reasonable price. Great service, our kids Thai ice teas were refilled before the glasses were empty. The entrees were outstanding and unlike other restaurants they were plentiful. That helps given that my son can eat up a storm. You are going to be hard pressed to find quality like this at a price that does not break the bank. Value, value, value. The spicy pork and pad Thai were great, we enjoyed tasting the different layers of flavors and spices. That speaks volumes about the time and effort they spent preparing the entrees. The ingredients tasted fresh and did not leave me feeling bloated like lower quality restaurants do. Why go to a big chain restaurant spend over $100, get lousy service, eat lower quality ingredients and leave bloated, when you can have a great experience like we did. BTW family of four ate entrees, appetizer, refreshments for under $70.

BEST PAD THAI EVER! I don't know how many different thai places I have tried, but this was clearly the best tasting pad thai I ever had and I only tried this dish so far because I'm hooked on it. Everyone that works there is very nice and I talked with owner I believe and they use all fresh ingredients AND freshly made. My husband and 3 year old were the only ones in there at the time and I could smell our food being cooked and it smelled sooooo amazing! I wish more people would try this place!
(5)Taicho M.
Some of the best Thai Food I've had anywhere and definitely in the Tampa area. Menu is nice and small but enough of a selection for anybody's tastes. The owner was present when I went for lunch and you can tell the level of quality control is very high. Overall an excellent place to eat.
(5)Joey G.
Found this place when in town for work, and glad that I did! Had the dumplings and the red curry with cod (never had cod in a curry before), and both were absolutely delicious. Enjoyed chatting with the owner, who was extremely nice, while eating. If I am back in town, I will definitely return to try another dish!
(5)Victoria B.
Although they run out of the most popular items or the daily special occasionally, I've always been happy with everything I've ever ordered. I live near by and appreciate that they're quick, even during the peak dinner rush. I highly recommend!
(5)Mary E.
Authentic Thai food. Get the big soup medium spicy and its flavors will explode in your taste buds. Not too hot and just the right amount of yummy goodness. The owner is super nice. The place is small for dining in but the food is well worth the drive. Try the pork chicken and crab dumplings they too are yummy goodness. If you check in with yelp you get a decent sized Thai iced tea for free :) This is my fave Thai spot in Tampa so far !
(5)Nicholas K.
Ordered for them tonight for food to go and they had the food done quickly the cashier was very polite just wish the food was a little more flavorful. We had the pad thai and it was the best thing on our order. Good flavor and just the right amount of heat. Also the tom yum soup was decent but it didn't knock my socks off it was just ok. The shrimp and crab dumplings were very bland as was the red curry it was almost tasteless. Overall everything was just ok to good nothing really stood out. Although nothing was horrible this just isn't a place I will be rushing back to anytime soon.
(3)Dan G.
Great food, all natural and local ingredients. The owner and staff love what they do and it shows in spades. This is a must have if you are in tampa.
(5)Ad R.
Fresh and delish. Probably the best Thai food in the Tampa area. Good luck getting a table. Call ahead!

Since moving to the Tampa Metro area last month, I've been on a search trying various local eateries to determine what's going to be my absolute favorite. This weekend I decided to try this place tucked neatly within yet another unassuming location (read my Cafe de Siam review). I walked in and it was refreshing to witness a cozy atmosphere great for couples. Thai Gourmet Market mainly focuses on made-to-order, fresh, authentic cuisine. I flip open the menu, and to my delight, it is very small. This tells me that everything they cook on the menu is done *very* well. Most restaurants have many ingredients prepped and stored, but this is a common way to generate unnecessary overhead. I ordered the Basil Prawns and Chicken Satay. I was not disappointed. Not at all. High quality, *fast* service and very accommodating. For example, if the owner knows that you live far away (~30min), he won't put the order in until right before you arrive, so that your food is at the peak of freshness. I even spoke with him briefly in between take-out and dine-in orders. Very nice and genuine guy with a passion to provide the highest caliber of Thai cuisine. These guys are the real deal. Trying to describe the pleasure and flavors of outstanding Thai dishes would be an insult to any reader. All I can say is that you'll be hard-pressed to find another spot in Tampa that will dish out food of this quality, day after day. I can safely say that this is my *favorite* Thai spot.
(5)Sarah M.
Coming from a Thai family, I can say that the Thai food here was authentic. Everything was delicious and they use the freshest ingredients! The owners are very friendly and they also offer cooking classes :) Check out Thai Gourmet Market, you'll fall in love with this place too!
(5)Brian B.
Small place, big taste! I had their red curry dish and it was great. I will be back again.
(5)BB G.
Machine says open until 8pm. We are from out of town and because of the reviews we went there. People inside doors locked at 6:30 pm. Waste of cab fair.

I've heard really good things about this place from family members who live in Town N Country near their restaurant, but I actually ran into this Thai place set up at the Sunday Market on Ashley Drive in downtown Tampa. They were really friendly and the food was awesome! I sampled some red curry with tofu and it was killer. Then I tried the Pad Thai which totally sold me because 1.) it was gluten-free which is really hard to come by with Pad Thai and 2.) it was absolutely delicious. The prices were very fair and the portions were perfect. I'll definitely be dining with the Thai Gourmet Market again!!
(5)Benjamin D.
Food here is AMAZING! Great prices, large portions, family owned. The ingredients are fresh and the taste is on point. I had the Everything Basil w/ chicken and the Thai Tea. Both were on point. The Pad Thai and Curry are out of this world as well. If you never came to this spot, you'd be missing out.

Best Thai food in Tampa!
(5)JL B.
Very friendly little restaurant, were pleased with the food, the decor, the owners - a must-stop for vegans since they can adapt most of their meals. Even bought one of their signature sauces to support such a good business! Will definitely come back when in the area!

I went to Thai Gourmet Market and participated in a cooking class. It was so much fun and informative. I went with a group of girlfriends and the owners (Petta and Ian) are great. They served us champagne as we cooked and it was a very welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend the cooking class!! During the cooking class it was clear that Petta knows what she's doing and has a real passion for cooking authentic Thai dishes. She uses the best ingredients and no MSG in anything!!! She also provides vegan and vegetarian options which was great for myself and another girlfriend participating in the class. My favorite dishes were her Pad Thai and Curry. I didn't realize how much work goes into the sauces and how other restaurants will add ketchup or peanut butter to Pad Thai which is a BIG no-no. My husband and I will only be getting Thai food from Petta. Thank you Thai Gourmet Market for a wonderful experience!!
(5)Sandra M.
How do you spell good food? Thai Gourmet Market!!!
(5)Jen L.
Just went for the first time and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. Its small and doesnt look like much from the outside, but inside it's adorable and the food was fantastic. They only use brown rice, no white rice and are vegan/vegetarian friendly. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Loved it!
(5)Lisa S.
Best Thai in Tampa, hands down! Authentic Thai and friendly service!
(5)Patricia L.
The restaurant looks like a hole in the wall from the street. However, the food was good overall. The menu is very, very limited. We got the chicken basil and red curry chicken. The basil chicken lacked flavor but was still good. Each dish was around $12.00. I wish the portion of chicken was more abundant, overall not a lot of food per person. The black rice they serve is delicious, first time I had. Limited seating.

Picked up take-out last night after a neighbor recommended this little gem. Very small, cute place with friendly owners who certainly taught me a thing or two about their food while I waited on my order. I ordered chicken and shrimp pad thai and my husband and I were very very pleased. I got mine mild (which is how I like it) and it was. My husband's was mild+ - it had some heat but he'll ask for a bit more next time and, yes, there will be a next time! Delish!
(5)Diana H.
Hands down best Thai food I've ever had. I usually get my meals take out. They have limited seasonal menus, but the selections are amazing. They have a small seating area in the resturant. The owners are kind, and friendly. Great to grab dinner on the way home from work if your short for time. Ingredients are fresh, great alternative to processed fast food.
(5)Michelle E.
Best Thai food I've ever had! 1 of our favorite restaurants! The soup and chicken w/ red curry sauce & brown rice are awesome!! And, healthy! We come here once a week. Friendly owners. Great service. Highly recommend - I'd give it 10+ stars if I could!
(5)Paul C.
This place really is wonderful. As restaurants go it's pretty small, only a couple of tables and a few seats at a couple or bars but the food is just amazing. I had the chicken Pad Thai and it was simply the best I have ever had. My friend had shrimp basil. The chef walked past us to cut the basil out of their herb garden. Needless to say it was amazing too. In addition to the restaurant there is a small store that has lot of hard to find thai/oriental ingredients. The prices were very reasonable and the service was great. So yeah they're the real deal check them out.

Very yummy. Couldn`t decide what I wanted for lunch today so I decided to try this place out. I am mixed with thai so haven`t had authentic thai food since i`ve moved here to Tampa. Love, love, love their basil chicken with the brown rice, only problem I had was it wasn`t grounded because i`m not a fan of chopped and it wasn`t spicy at all. But the flavors were there and I love how they used brown rice, very very healthy. NO MSG which is super good. The owner was very informing and very very nice. They even have their own little market where you can buy fresh ingredients which was very impressive. Overall it was a great experience and will continue to go there.
(4)Owen D.
Simply exquisite. Simple meals prepared well, of fresh ingredients, and served quickly.
(5)Lauren P.
New little Thai market/restaurant/cooking classes. Pretty small place, but it's very cute and Clean inside. They have lots of cold take out food, like dumplings and pad Thai. They also have a rotating, fresh and seasonal menu. Tonight's features 5 items-of which I had to try 4. My favorite was the green curry fish. It was delicious! The curry had just the right amount of spice and went beautifully with the pan fried fish. It was served over a nice pile of what seemed like brown rice (yay healthier) and a fresh cucumber and pepper salad. I also tried a pork soup with rice noodles and lime. It was similar to pho but more sour. It was unlike anything I've had before, but it was quite good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the pad Thai. It was just a bit too dry and sticky for me. Nothing bad-but I've had better. The owners are lovely! Very friendly husband and wife (I'm assuming, correct me if I'm wrong) owners who were so kind and helpful! They also set up every Saturday at the st Pete farmers market. I definitely recommend this place. Tampa is full of tired Thai restaurants, but I think this one takes it to a new level with their focus on a fresh, and ever changing menu. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes!
(4)Tammy L.
My girlfriends just did a Thai Cooking class with Petch yesterday and it was utterly fantastic! The dumplings are to die for, and learning how to balance flavors in most Thai dishes (sweet, salty, and sour) is a trick that we will all use in the future. The attention to detail (presentation, taste, how-to/tricks on how to slice & chop, and the focus on ingredients with no MSG, preservatives, and additives was really appreciated by all. Clean, healthy eating and recipes we can all make! Stop in for lunch sometime, you will absolutely not be disappointed!
(5)David R.
Really good thai food!! Ian is an amazing host. Could use some spring rolls in the menu!
(4)Beth K.
Wonderful food. Very authentic. We are in Tampa for a night and found this place from the wonderful reviews. We got there at 730 and had to wait a few moments for one of the few tables. Ordered the dumplings that were explosive with flavor. Spoke with Ian the owner and had a wonderful night if food and conversation. The only reason for the 4 stars is the yea was cool and placemats were stained with previous meals. I'm a little bit if a clean freak. But in defense of them the owner cleaned this table quickly in order to seat us quickly. It was amazing food! Seabass was very full if flavor!
