Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Went here for the first time after reading the reviews. My family lived the pizza. This is now our go-to place for pizza.

Great NY style pie. I've picked up several slices (drunk and sober). You know it's good pizza if I'll head there sober. Sausage and mushroom slice - spot on. Spinach white slice - good, but a little too much garlic powder. 2 cheese slice and soda special for $5.

The lunch special is $5 2 slices and a drink, for specialty pieces it is extra but worth it as I am a huge fan of their white pie. Additionally, their garlic knots are delicious but I wish they had single servings as I cannot eat 6 and than 2 pieces of pizza. They are next door to You Say When Yogurt shop so if you have room for a sweet it's right there.

Being an expatriated native New Yorker, I'm also a pizza snob. The pizza in Tampa sucks. It's all soggy and greasy; you could wring it out and roll it up like a fruit roll-up. Ybor is the worst of it - not a good pizza place in the entire area. Not sure why, as the recipe is known the world over. There's even an internet now - no excuses for soggy pizza. And it's not the climate or the water, as so many believe. Eddie and Sams in downtown Tampa is nearly as bad as the rest of them and they supposedly use "bottled New York water". (I have it on some authority that their "New York water" miraculously flows out of their Tampa taps.) After having tried all the New York-style shops around Tampa, I've found one perfect slice. Correct balance, right sauce, right cheese, and most importantly the right crust: a thin, light-but-full crust with a cracker-like very bottom that cracks when you fold it. I've asked them about it and they tell me they tune and balance the oven like they used to back in the Bronx (paraphrasing). I have to believe them, because, let me tell you, it works. BUT like all good pizza, you have to eat it within 10 minutes because it changes. 10 minutes later it's soggy and 20 minutes later it's a Frisbee. Such is the price of great pizza; it has to be eaten hot and fresh. Two slices and a soda for 5 bucks; Good deal. Great pizza. Cool guys. Can't lose.

My fiance and I are on a mission for good New York style pizza, this place is pretty close. The first time we ordered for delivery it was great but this last week we went and it wasn't nearly as good. Still a good pizza but not quite the New York style we are looking for. But service and staff were great!

Great Pizza! Lunch specials are a super deal! Had the Ricotta and Spinach Pie, absolutely delish! Def stop in for the lunch special, you won't be disappointed :)

We've ordered take out pizza from Taste of NY Pizza on two separate occasions. They are conveniently located down the street from our place, have offered quick and quality service on both occasions, and make decent NY style pizza. I have no complaints about this place other than to say that the crust got a bit stale last time. Not a big deal though. I ate it anyways! Lol, can't let NY pizza crust go to waste. In any case, Taste of NY Pizza offers reliable service and yummy pizza. This is our go to spot for take out pizza! ;-)

This place is a great place to get good local pizza. They have fast service and their pizza tastes authentic and not fast foody like what one would get at a dominoes or something. The inside has a bunch of cool NY memorabilia but I am usually not in there long enough to stare because my wife and I usually order takeout. Their pizza is very greasy (just how I like it) and comes with plenty of cheese and condiment toppings like red pepper flakes and parmesean. Their crust is my only complaint. It is not as soft as I usually prefer but it is not bad. Overall an excellent place to get fast quality, local pizza from a place that truly rates to call themselves the taste of new york.

Pizza was good - not great. Better than the ubiquitous chains but so what ... Staff seemed borderline 'bothered' to have to interact with customers. Consider that along with their prices ... quite happy never to return.

The pizza is delicious and so are the garlic knots, and the service is always prompt and friendly. The 2 slices and a drink for $5 is a great deal also. We had eaten there quite bit, however on our most recent visit, the mozzarella cheese smelled pungently bad...strong moldy cheese smell. We took it to go and started noticing the odor penetrating the car when we were almost home. By then it wasn't worth it to drive all the way back. Haven't been back since.

A New Yorker happy to find this spot!! Great pizza just like back home. Their lunch special was outstanding and great. I had the white pizza it reminded me of a place in NY I loved very much. I will be coming back!!

Found this place through Yelp! Was headed to Glory Days but was in the mood for a traditional pizzareria pizza and not that commercial crap (Pizza Hut, Papa John's). The pizza was awesome and the sauce is marinara and tomato based not that thick Ragu spaghetti sauce commercial places use. And the garlic rolls are the sh!t. The sit down experience isn't exactly restaurant style as it's just basic at best (few chairs and tables) and it appears most people order pickup but the food was great nonetheless. Perhaps two large screen TVs (one for sports and one for kids) would improve the waiting and dining experience. If dining in then call 10 min ahead so your wait time is reduced.

No complaints here! I had to try it :) it was very good, quick and fair priced. Nice crust on the thinner side but not floppy. I like the selections of toppings :)
(5)Kim O.
The pizza here is out of control! It is true New York style. The guys who are cooking are even from New York! Come on! The thickness is just right. If you tell them to make it well done they know just how crispy to make it. And the cheese is top quality. I love the pizza here too much. And the garlic rolls!!!! Heaven. So garlicky, cheesy, soft and delicious. I won't get pizza anywhere else in new tampa. This is the place.
(5)Brent D.
Their pizza is the best in the area...but really I'm in love with their sub's...if you like meatball subs, be prepared to get addicted...same with their chicken parm...off the meter..I only wish they weren't so close to my work!!

Real NY style Pizza. I come from Brooklyn, NY (lived there for the last 5 years) and this place is identical to the great pizza places over there. Staff is friendly, pizza is made fresh right in front of you, and they use the very best ingredients. You will not regret it.

Heard a lot about this place (good things) and tired it for the first time tonight it was very good!! We got a large cheese pizza, wings, and zepolis for less than $25. Everything tasted amazing and we will definitely be trying more of their menu very soon.
(5)Michael C.
Amazing pizza! Love this place. Their margarita pizza is one of the best things on the menu. They also have a specialty ricotta spinach that is good if you like a lighter pizza. They also have really great calzones. They have a good deal 2 slices and a can of soda for 5 dollars which is really good because they have huge slices. The place has a couple tables to sit down at but its more of a causal place. Defiantly more of a take out place.
(5)Kathy H.
Got takeout pizza & calzone to bring to our hotel. Food was very good, especially the spinach calzone. If they would have had paper plates & utensils we requested they would have gotten 5 stars.

Top notch slice. The margherita pizza is amazing and well worth finding this small shop. The first bite of a slice crunches in your mouth like a savory cracker. The fresh basil and sweet tomato on the margherita were out of this world.

If your in the New Tampa Area and are looking for NY Style and tasting Pizza this is is the spot! Taste and feel of a NY Pizzaria it's a must!
(5)Natalie K.
Best pizza in the area! This is authentic NY pizza and the $5 lunch special for two cheese slices and a drink can't be beat. It's always quick service (the guys that run it are great), incredibly tasty, and there are a handful of tables inside if you want to sit down to eat. Perfect for a time constrained lunch during the work day or grabbing a quick bite to eat. I have tried the pizza and the garlic knots, and both bring back fond memories of time spent in NYC. I come here regularly and love it!

I am what you would call a pizza snob. I grew up in a pizzeria on Long Island, and come from a pizza family. When I moved to Tampa I never really got my hopes up to find that authentic pie. Taste of New York popped up one day in the corner of a strip mall, it is hidden so we weren't sure how long it had been there. Walking into the restaurant you are greeted with New York memorabilia. Being able to say " I'd like to order a large pie." and Not getting asked WHAT?! was a key sign they knew the lingo. I've never been disappointed with their pizza. Their crust is always crisp and doughy, and their sauce isn't too salty. Their garlic knots can sometimes be a little too oily, but c'mon it's really about the pizza. For me it's as good as it's going to get in Tampa.

I am a native New Yorker having lived in Tampa for the past 8 years And this is likely one of the better pizza places I have been to in the past 8 yrs in the area. The crust is thin and crispy when heated up off the line just like in the pizzerias there. The staff is friendly and will add some yummy toppings to your slice. I ordered a take out pizza with a coupon that was also great at home. I recommend this place and really hope it lasts because it's 2 mins away from my house!!
(5)Olga G.
Best Pizza around New Tampa! I have ordered their Margherita pizza for delivery several times and love it. Also love the white pizza with ricotta, spinach, garlic and get them to add mushroom! Fantastic pizza and we also love their lasagne.
(5)Alan K.
The best pizza in Tampa and I have tried them all. I am originally from Chicago and never liked NY pizza. I was tired from being disappointed by most tampa pizza places that I stopped eating pizza in Tampa. One day my wife wanted pizza and I drive by this place all the time I decided to give it a try. It turned out their pizza is just as good as the thin crust pizza from Chicago that I love so much. The sauce is great and the cheese is wonderful. If your like me and was tired of tampa pizza joints. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed.
(5)Todd G.
Love the pizza. It's authentic New York style pizza! Excellent crust! Excellent ingredients! At a great price! Just opened and they Deliver for order $10 and above. Can't wait to try other menu items. You need to try this place!
(5)Eddie G.
I am very very picky when it comes to pizza, which is probably one of the reasons why I don't eat much of it because I can never find that true New York style pizza and I'm always disappointed when I order(I never buy from the chain stores). I ordered a cheese pizza with half basil because I like margherita pizza but everyone makes it different so I decided to stay on the safe side and just add basil. After I arrived to pickup my order, I asked how they make it and I was surprised that they make it the way I like it. They converted my half basil and cheese pizza to a margherita by adding their tomato sauce and garlic on top. It was hands down the best pizza in Tampa, made with real garlic, not powder and new york style crust, not too thin.

Not good at all crust is terrible. I think the restaurant is adding their own reviews. When you take the dough right out of the refrigerator and then make a pizza it is obvious you have no clue about anything involving yeast.
