Reading the other reviews I was a bit apprehensive, but I went ahead and tried Slice Masters anyway, and I'm very happy I did. I ordered a LG cheese pizza, with extra cheese, a small mushroom and spinach calzone, and a dozen garlic knots. Let me tell you, this was WAY better than my expectations, let me start with the pizza first. The pizza was what I'd come to expect for a decent NY style pizza, the crust was soft but crispy and didn't just taste like doughy bread, it was the perfect end to a rather enjoyable tasting pizza. My fiance (from New Jersey) gave it a great review too saying it's a lot closer than what some of these companies claim to be NY style pizza. The calzone, was delicious. Period. The ricotta was a little heavy but I personally like ricotta so it wasn't a bad thing. I was satisfied with the calzone as it met my expectations easily and wasn't overcooked or doughy. And the garlic knots.. Oh, the garlic knots.. Perfect. I've had a lot of different garlic knots but these were definitely on point. Soft, not doughy, a little crisp, real garlic on top and on every bite. Look if you like garlic knots these definitely are worth trying out. You won't be disappointed. Overall I think I've found my pizza joint while I'm living here in Tampa, I'm completely satisfied with taste and price. Give them a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Unless you live in the carrollwood area, you're probably never gonna run across this place because its smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. It's at the intersection of West and South Village, right across the street from a basketball court that i grew up playing at. If you do live around the carrollwood, Slice Masters IMO is definitely worth a try. I decided to support one of my local businesses after getting a flyer in the mail for XL 1 topping pizza for 10.99. Called to order a pepperoni pie around dinner time and they said it would be ready to be picked up in 15 minutes. The pizza was still steaming hot when I picked it up. The crust was a little on the thin side for my liking but it was perfectly cooked - not burnt but with just the right about of crisp. It seemed a tad smaller than the other XL new york style pizzas i've ordered from other places but maybe its just me being more critical now that I've decided to take on yelp as a hobby. The sauce was good and the pizza overall wasn't too salty. As I'm sitting here 2 days later eating whats left of it, I can say that it tastes good reheated too! Will definitely come back in the future to try their garlic knots TL;DR - not a bad place for your ny style pizza fix

Definitely an above average Pizza place for Tampa, but there is some strange aftertaste that drops this to only 3 stars for me. I'm not sure what it is, but it tastes good when I bite into it, but then as you're swallowing you get this weird bitter flavor. It's probably the cheese, but I can't be 100 percent sure. Obviously this blows away the chain garbage like Domino's, Papa Johns, etc..but you can definitely get better non-chain NY style pizza in the Tampa Bay area.

In search for a good pizza joint nearby i decided on Slice Masters to see what's going on. You feel like you've walked into an enclosed back porch entering the front of the restaurant. This is where the majority of the seating is located. Then you walk through another door to get to the main kitchen where you order food. The guys that work here (all look and sound like New Yorkers) seem to run a tight ship...they take pride in what they are doing unlike the teenagers you find at Marcos pizza. They had a large cheese pizza and 6 garlic knots on special for $8.99, so I ordered 2 of them. I like my pizza well done because I don't like the point on my pizza to sag. It was ok. The sauce wasn't bad, but there wasn't a whole lot of it on the pie. I also ordered barbecue wings and Wu Tang wings. The wing sauce is made in house. The barbecue is tomato based and sweet. The Wu Tang wings is Asian chili flavored so they were sweet, tangy and spicy. Both were decent, but I wasn't blown away. The garlic knots were the star of the show. They are crisp but you can sink your teeth into them without tearing away like most knots I've eaten. The inside was lighter and airy that I expected. Flavor was perfect. They must've forgotten to pack marinara, so that was disappointing since I wanted to get a better taste of their sauce. I'll have to come back for another visit and try a different pizza as well as the sauce. I'd actually give it 3 1/2 for this visit. I'm hopeful that I can bump the rating up to a 4 after trying more of the menu...but it will depend mostly on good sauce.

LOVE their pizza and wings. Service is awesome. Food is awesome. Simple, casual, like a mom and pop pizza joint. This place is my go-to.

Ordered a large pizza for deliverer. Noticed the reviews for their garlic knots so I tagged that on. The delivery was within a reasonable time and the food was nice and hot. The pizza was excellent. The garlic knots were ridiculously amazing. I would eat here again for sure.

Feels like family here! They know our names and greet us every time we go. Food is always excellent. We even get delivery sometimes (even though we live 2 miles away) and it's always fast and the order correct. My favorite are the calzones and garlic knots. I'm not a big sandwich person, but love theirs. The meatball is my fave. The bread is their pizza dough. SOO good. And, of course, the pizza is great! Love this place and highly recommend!

Best garlic knots in town! They have real garlic on top. Their pizzas are huge and delicious! Great neighborhood place to order a pie or a slice!

This is the closest pizza place to where I live, so I was happy to find out that their food is good. It's not spectacular, but if you are jonesing for a pizza pie and are sick of the corporate chain crap, this place hits the spot. They put a good amount of cheese on their pizza and the ingredients are plenty. But I think my favorite thing they make are their garlic knots. They are delicious, doughy balls of goodness soaked in butter, garlic and parmesean cheese. They are certainly one of the best I've had and truly warrant many returns!

My husband and I were looking for a new local pizza place to try out tonight and I am so happy we chose to come to slice masters!! I must admit, when we first walked in it was not what we expected however, I happen to love places that are unique and not like everywhere else. We ordered an extra large pizza, a dozen garlic knots, and a couple of cokes. The food came out pretty quickly for how packed the place was, which was a pleasant surprise. As everyone else has stated the garlic knots are delicious! And so was the pizza! Other than the food being great I must say just how nice everyone was to us. The owner, employees, and even a large group of regular customers were all so laid back and made us feel like family. My only regret is not finding this place sooner. Definitely coming back!!

When pizza is on my mind I always go to Slice Masters. Everyone is very friendly & the food is yummy! The staff treats you as if you're family or someone they have known for years lol. I personally think that Slice Masters has the Best pizza and wings In Tampa.

Hate to sound like a Pizza snob. But when you've had good Pizza in the past, there's a certain standard that must be met. Slice Masters falls short IMO. I will give them credit for the garlic knots, they were among the best I've had, the perfect crunch and the right amount of tenderness. Wings were nothing special, just your average wings. At the end of the day I came here for the Pizza. It's just ok, not the type that'd have me screaming for more, I know a good pizza when I see one. When I think of good Pizza, I think of Cristinos, Paul's Pizza, costco (yes costco), Even Westshore Pizza when the mood is right. Slice Masters is worth a try but limit your expectations.

This has been my go-to spot for pizza in Tampa for as long as I can remember. Thin crust, New York style pizza. Big foldable slices with all kinds of flavor. I typically get their supreme which is excellent, but even ordering a pie with just cheese or pepperoni will not disappoint. I've only ever dined in, so I can't speak to their delivery service. Owner is a good dude, and the prices are definitely reasonable for the quality of their product. Next time you're thinking about grabbing a slice or two, skip the chain joints and support this local gem.

1 star is for customer service and owner who does not care about running a quality local business that values repeat customers. They messed up our order for a neighborhood gathering pick-up order, to not interrupt the party we asked that they delivered the 1 pizza left out of the order and they refused to do so saying it doesn't meet the minimum. If they would have had our order correct to begin with, it would have. The owner was rude and didn't even care when I noted we live in the hood and are loyal almost weekly customers. The neighbors noted they had a similar experience with beyond careless management. Pizza is 2 stars and no where near NY pizza, it's basic and does the job for kids without discerning adult taste buds. You are better off putting your money into another local restaurant that actually cares about loyal customers and making pizza with quality ingredients if that matters to you.

I'm always a bit leary of anyplace that has NY Pizza in their name, but I decided to stop by and pick up a pizza and calzone to take home the other day. I refuse to go to any of the chain pizza places as I think I make better pizza at home than the chain places. Just got a cheese pizza and thought it was better than most. I'm partial to thin crust and it was good. Owner told me they make their own sauce and wanted feedback so here tis. Would definitely go here again. As for the calzone, I added spinach and artichokes to it at no additional cost. Prices are reasonable and products are worth the trip.

I had eaten at Slice Masters a time or two in the past and wanted to refresh my memory on how good they were, and I have to say that the Hawaiian Pizza that I ordered here last time was not good. Not good at all. In fact, it was downright awful. The crust was extremely thin and limp, and there were barely any toppings. So little pineapple and ham that it barely even tasted Hawaiian at all.. I could only catch a hint of a Hawaiian flavor every now and then. There was not an over-abundance of cheese, either. Yuck. Gotta say there are better places in Carrollwood, to say the least. Another reviewer said the quality is inconsistent, so maybe I just got a bad one this time and it would be better next time. Still, I'd rather eat at a place that consistently delivers the goods, like Sam's or Charlies on Gunn Hwy, so don't think I'll be back.

This was my first time order last week for delivery - very disappointed - I ordered the baked ziti and had to throw away as looked like made mo ago-ziti awful & the so called meatballs were like sawdust, dry, took one bite & threw in trash. Also ordered wings, awful too! Only thing could eat was salad and garlic knots which were good. Last order!

I've been here a few times before. And I've come away thinking, "that was ok". I recently had the owner's two slices with 1 topping each and a medium fountain drink for $5.34. I requested bacon on one and pineapple on the other. Chatted with the owner while he made the two slices and put them in the oven. When i got home, to test the NY in the name, I folded the slices. Can't be NY unless you can eat the slice folded. It passed the test. The crust is thin style. Both slices were completely covered with the topping so the owner was not skimpy. If the slices did not have toppings, I'm not sure if I would have liked them as just a cheese slice. But with the toppings, they were good. My granddaughter will only eat cheese pizza and, having been here before with her, she liked them. So, I can't speak to the quality of delivered pizzas, which the lower rated reviews seem to have a problem with. A-OK or I"m a fan? Gotta say that I would go back within a few weeks and have some more. So I'm a fan.

Good pizza, always a positive experience every time I try this place. Don't eat here as much as I would like because my kids are not fans of this style of pizza. The owner and staff are very friendly. Pretty good lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for about $5! Overall I like this place and always try to support a business in my neighborhood

Pizza is good but inconsistent. They deliver which is great but when you don't know what you're getting, it's frustrating. They're 2 for 4 on delivering a good product. Not sure I'll try it again.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
