Check this intimate restaurant out. Super cool concept!!!

This was a very fun romantic evening. Given the name "Six Tables" there are really only six tables and one seating. They wait till all parties have arrived then the chef actually comes out gives a history and then describes the courses for the night. All the food was fresh and delicious. As the night goes on the chef will come out to mingle and ensure all parties were satisfied. It is pricey runs about $100 per person but really worth it for the food and the experience. Will be back for the next special occasion.

I have eaten here several times and the food gets better and better. Chef Richard makes you feel part of a family and he and his team make it a wonderful evening. He will accommodate food allergies and dining preferences. It was a wonderful evening. The service superb and the meal excellent. The blue berries in jalapeño syrup were beyond amazing.

I was in town on business and a friend of mine took me here for dinner. There were 3 of us and it was wonderful! Chef Richard has an awesome personality and he is an incredible chef! We enjoyed every dish and the Guava dessert was the perfect ending to the dinner. I saw that some have given Six Tables negative reviews for the decor being outdated but as someone who travels globally the ambiance and decor is perfect. Six Table reminds me of some of the European restaurants I have visited in Europe. I will definitely come back!

First time here. The food was delicious. Six courses. The chef and owner is very nice. Very intimate environment.

I have eaten there several times. Every time I eat there, I enjoy the great experience but also leave a little bit unsatisfied. Let me explain. Dining at six tables is an experience. there are only six tables in the restaurant. Everybody gets a six course meal starting with an appetizer with complimentary champagne. Nice touch. It is then followed by a soup, salad, a main course, cheese and wine. It reminds me of a fancy dinner in a European restaurant. The chef, who is also the owner, comes out and explains the menu and takes your order. He then goes to himself into the kitchen to prepare it. The food is delicious and very well prepared. Sometimes I wish that the dishes were a bit more creative. For the price point, I would expect a little bit more. The few negatives I have about this restaurants are the decor as other reviewers have pointed out. Also, the wine selection is not great.

This one is tough because although we very much enjoyed dinner at Six Tables we would not go back unless we had a groupon or something making it cheaper. Perhaps I just don't understand food pricing but w/tip we ended up paying $250 and that seemed a little pricey for the dinner we got. Let's talk service. The service is great and Chef Richard is full of personality. They do come across as a little scripted though. For example when he served the appetizer and other dishes he went to each table and said the same thing six different times. It's a small room, he could have served the dish and then explained to everyone what it was. I think they are going for a personal touch but because I could overhear the scripted-ness it took away from what they are trying to accomplish. Now let's talk location and decor. This restaurant is located in a run down strip mall. If it wasn't for word of mouth I would have never went here. I probably wouldn't have even know it was a restaurant based on the exterior. There were many comments in previous reviews about dated decor and chipped dishes. I think this adds to the experience that I believe they are going for. I felt like I was being served a very nice dinner in someone's home. It was nice but I think this is why I didn't approve of the price. Now onto Food. The food was great, interesting, and made me want more. Great concepts of flavors, textures, and smells. Interesting combinations and multiple options for soup, main entree, and desert. I really loved the food. This place is great to experience at least once!!

We had a coupon, which was my main reason for trying this place out. I was apprehensive because of the negative reviews on Yelp. The decor leaves a lot to be desired. Between the lattice on the windows and ceiling, and the mismatched china and crystal, the place looked like a combo between a grandmother's house and a bad home ec project. Add that to the location in a remote strip mall, and this was not a place that should command a $100/per person pricetag. I will say that the staff is very friendly and prompt. They were very attentive, and we enjoyed our experience. I enjoyed that they poured sparkling wine for all guests upon arrival, and since there were only four customers that night, they topped off the glasses too. However, the food did not live up to the service. Nothing was bad, in fact my husband really enjoyed his crawfish bisque. But nothing was great enough to command the price tag. I didn't find the food especially creative, other than the cheese plate, and most of the foods served were not very expensive ingredients. I did like the cheese plate, but we were served less than one ounce of cheese! (It came with some overtoasted bread, a strawberry that was coated in cayenne, a few cashews in cardamom, and a pile of raisins.) We brought our own wine having read about the wine list on Yelp. I don't understand why a restaurant that charges $90/per person for the food only has $50 bottles of wine. Corkage was $25. For the price, you can definitely do better in Tampa.

Another outstanding meal at six tables. We have eaten at the restaurant for our three month anniversary and now again for my wife's birthday. This birthday experience was amazing. First the food was excellent. 2 hours flies by when all you do is eat. I think the thing that shows this restaurant will always be tops in my book is that the two hour dinner we had for my wife's birthday consisted of the Chef and us. We were the only patrons for the dinner on a Wednesday night. Other chefs may have closed the restaurant but Chef served us as we were family and we had the most amazing meal. Every choice was available to us and he did not cut any corners because it we only us. This shows the character of the Chef when you only have two clients but it is a special evening to them. We did spend $220 like others have said but we would spend that at other nice restaurants and we basically had a personal chef for the evening. Excellent choice and hospitality!

This place was magnificent. I took my fiancée for our 7 year anniversary and we had an absolutely wonderful time. I've never tasted food like that before. It was delicious and adventurous. The service was great, and the chef himself was very entertaining. Great place to spend a quiet night with someone you really love!

I dined here as a surprise birthday gift from my boyfriend. I thought Six Tables was amazing. The ambiance, music, decor, and mood was different, new, and exciting! The simple fact that there was only 6 tables made me feel extra special. It was a clever, sweet touch. The restaurant has a very intimate environment. And the heavenly smells of food from the kitchen...made me want more. :P I have severe food allergies. Chef Richard made me feel comfortable that the food was going to be handled with care. Thank you again! :) Delicious wines, fresh succulent duck, rich desserts, diverse cheeses, and soup/bisque you wish you could swim in because it is THAT GOOD. I was impressed, course after course. And you will be too!!!

Cheap quality food, tacky environment, chipped China all round, spoiled water. Not worth the price they ask for. I order a chocolate soufflé, however, it collapsed it the kitchen. The chef ended up serving me chocolate mousse. He had the nerve to tell me that chocolate mousse is the same as chocolate soufflé but served cold. What kind of "5 star- top chef" tell this to his customers assuming that they don't know anything about food?!?

I actually didn't read the reviews on this place before we came here and I wish we would have. The night we went there were only two tables so service was great and I do have to say that the Executive Chef/owner was very involved with the tables throughout the night. What I knew of the place was that the menu was pre-planned by the chef so I was expecting to have maybe 2 options for the entrees... only to be surprised by having 5. I kinda wanted to be more adventurous with very limited options. Everything offered was nothing new to me personally or my table. I had the lamb and sadly have to say it was not very good, the 4 pieces of asparagus and 5 shavings of potato served with it was hardly a plate of food! To be honest my favorite part of the menu was the scallop bisque and the cheese plate. I think the ideas of the dishes are a great concept just poorly executed. I do have to say that from previous reviews I've read that the place has been updated and think its super cute and romantic for couples. Based on the prices for the dinner, unless we knew what was exactly being served we will not return. It was a fun experience and our company was great, so that made the night.

A different and unique dining experience, it's worth trying once but don't see myself going back anytime soon. Pros: -Charismatic chef who personally greeted everyone and explained each dish -Food was very good -Waitress was very attentive and friendly -Unique dining experience, enjoyed the intimate setting Cons: -Food was overpriced for what you were getting, approximately 100.00 pp, the meal was not outstanding. -Décor was very outdated -Parking is not great, location is in a strip mall Overall the place has a great concept it just needs a few tweaks.
(2)Susan R.
The Six Tables dining experience did not work for me. I found the venue rather shabby appearing and dreary. The chef earnestly tries for creativity and specialness, but several of the dishes presented were seasoned or sauced unpleasantly. I wouldn't return to this restaurant.
(2)Joel M.
Decent three star food, no OMG moments, with a groupon not bad, but definitely not worth $100 per person without one. Enjoyed the evening but won't go back.

I have mixed feelings about 6 Tables. I will begin by saying the food is absolutely delicious. The turn off for me was the wine selection. If I'm eating a gourmet meal I prefer good, if not exceptional wine. The only selection was a $50 dollar bottle of Red wine that was worth about $15.00 tops. It's only one seating at 7:30, they're only 6 tables so it's quaint and quiet. Good for a romantic dinner. I have to give the Chef an exceptional rating because every course was delightful. If they were to add a wine list, it would have another star. I Would eat here again if I could bring my own wine.

Chef Richard is a genius! The menu was fantastic and the setting was perfect for our anniversary celebration. We really enjoyed the comfort of having the undivided attention of our server and the chef himself. If you want a truly unique and satisfying dining experience, stop by Six Tables. This will be our go-to choice for future date nights. Thank you!

One of the best meals I have had in a long time! Intimate environment.

I just left Six Table Tampa. Reservations at 7:30 we got out at 10:10pm. I knew going in that they would not start sevice till all parties have arrived. Of course there is always one late table. They did keep out Champange flukes filled! At 7:45 the chef came out with our app and explained the dish. As we all dug in, he verbally detailed the rest of the menu. I had the crab soup; my husband the peach soup. We loved them both. The salad was a little above average. Next, I had the lamb and he had the tenderloin. Lamb was mouthwatering but small in portion. Chesse plate was a little strange. Aged Wisconsin agiaio with an odd mix of peppery blueberries, candies almonds, and a crouton. Last dessert, chocolate heaven! The service was excellent, but slow. My husband was still hungry after we left. For $90 a person no one should leave hungry. We had a groupon coupon, so it wasn't as bad as the price could have been. They did nothing special for our anniversay. But did ask at the beginning if we were they for a special occasion. Overall, we won't be regulars due to the price vs the quantity. The quality was great. One other thing the place is very dark and outdated decor wise. Reminds me of my great-grandmothers house. My grandma had much more modern decor and she's 90 yrs old and won't buy anything new.

My husband and I went to Six Tables for the fist time Saturday for date night with a groupon. Thank God for the groupon because it was very pricey! The bill came to 220.00 and then they took off the 100 for groupon. With that out of the way.....the food was amazing! They give you a very romantic experience. I would strongly recommend it for any date night......just be aware that it's 90.00 per person....wine is 12.00 a class or 50.00 per bottle. Still overall 2 thumbs up for chef Richard!
(5)Jonathan A.
The food was decent and the chef was entertaining and cool. To me it was really expensive. What stood out the most was HOW INCREDIBLY LONG THE DINNER TAKES!!!! Christ. When they brought out the cheese plate we asked if we could have the dessert to go along with the check so we could pay. At that point it was already past 10:30 and we sat down at 7:30. I mean there is only so much you can talk about with one other person until it's time to get the hell out of there. As we got up to leave, we could hear many of the other guests saying things like "look at them honey, they are leaving", "how do they get to leave"?, "can we go too"?, etc. It was a pretty cool night, the crab bisque was the best part. I had a medium rare beef entree that was pretty good except for the fact that the sauce was too bleu cheesy, which means it tasted exactly like vomit. That's just what bleu cheese does. All in all it's not bad if you want to spend $250, eat pretty decent food, be entertained verbally by the chef for about 5 minutes, and take 4 hours to have dinner. I think that the other guests may still be there finishing dessert, and we had dinner last Saturday.

We arrived at Six Tables fifteen minutes early, and spent the time deciding wether or not to quickly make reservations at another restaurant, since the strip mall appearance was extremely misleading. Eventually, we decided we'd stick it out an give it a try. Personally, I loved the ambiance of feeling like you are in someone's home, but it's definitely not the kind of place you want to take a first date. Since the five other tables can hear quite clearly everything you're taking about, it's more of a special occasion type of restaurant. It was a very personal experience, the entire menu was recited by the chef, including the wine menu. I can honestly say however, that was the best duck confit I have ever tasted. However, the rest of the courses were questionable. I would recommend to any foodie that they try Six Tables at least once, even though the 90 dollars a plate price can be steep, depending on what the chef decides is on the menu that night. It's most definitely worth the experience.

My wife and I have been dying to try Six Tables out since moving to Tampa. We finally gave it a try for Valentines Day this year. We were both very disappointed in the presentation and quality of the food. For a place that only has "six tables" we were expecting amazing food, fun presentation, something different and that attention to detail that lacks in almost all your larger restaurants. What we got was just a mediocre meal with nothing really standing out as memorable or amazing. I believe they would do better with less options and more detail to each plate. With so few tables it should be like dining at an amazing chefs house. They show you the menu and you eat it, maybe post the menu online and through email to past guests then perfect that menu and blow peoples minds. I will say this, the staff was so very nice and hospitable so there is a chance we will be back. I see all these reviews about how people don't like the atmosphere but if the food was amazing people probably wouldn't care much about the decor. A concept like this should focus on food and service more than atmosphere.

Outstanding service, food, and chef. I would definitely recommend this place. Will be returning. Thank you for a great experience, chef!

The food and service are good, but the experience doesn't match the price. It was apparent that they were trying to cut corners on their food and wine costs while still maintaining a premium price point. Wine by the glass is $12, and a flight of 4 wines is $30. They don't tell you who makes the wine, there are simply 4 by-the-glass offerings per night, described as "California Chardonnay" or "South African Syrah" along with their tasting notes, which I thought was weird because I like to chose my wine based on the winemaker and not the varietal. All of the courses besides the main course were made from cheaper ingredients: clear broth soup, small portion salad, custard panna cotta or flan desserts. The atmosphere is also lacking. The homemade lattice-tulle-and christmas light decoration on the ceiling of the dining room was the primary eyesore, but the entire restaurant is overdue for some remodeling.

I was at Six Tables last week for an 80th birthday celebration. I am a chef from California, which was mentioned with the reservation. When we arrived and stepped into the tacky room with Home Depot/Target based decor (cheap fabric and white lattice) I was a little taken back, but I have had great food in some crappy locations, so I didn't worry much. Well, the food fit the decor. We had a very expensive meal that was marked by lots of mediocre food, poorly plated, and either over or undercooked. I felt like I had returned to the restaurant at my culinary school, lots of dished that try to look pretty and are marked by novice wanna-be cooks. To top it off, there was no effort made for the 80th birthday and four of us walked out with a $500+ bill. I you are in Tampa, I recommend staying far from this place....
(1)Allison L.
I agree with others that the food and service was very good. Everything we had was delicious and even though we have a couple of picky eaters, there were enough choices that we were all happy. The personalized service was really nice. The chef was very friendly and took the time to explain each dish. However, the atomsphere is definitely lacking. They could do so much more with the space... just removing the lattice on the ceiling would be a good start. For the price, I don't think we'd go back. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the slow pace of the evening, but I just don't think it's worth the steep cost.

At $90 per person not inclusive of wine, Six Tables is for very special occasions. This group of tiny restaurants in the Tampa Bay ara has top chef/owners - in this case Richard Bottini. The small corner storefront almost on top of Henderson Boulevard leaves a clear message that this restaurant is all about the six course meals inside in this all reservations dining spot. There is just one seating at 7:30 and I suggest you dress up. The best way to find out if Six Tables is that special place to go on that special day is to look at the website and give them a telephone call to get answers to all your questions..
(5)Art S.
Disappointing. Have been there two other times and loved it. My wife's ribeye was over cooked and my fish dish was terrible. Wine section lacking. Decor is worn. I hope they read yelp as it needs a redo

I had been looking forward to this experience for a while, since I am a total foodie and loved the fact that I had no idea what I was eating until I got there. However, I did end up a bit disappointed. You walk into a room of six tables, and that is really all there is to look at. It is an extremely plain room and has no sort of ambiance what-so-ever. It is really quite boring and bland. The service was great. There are two servers, as well as the chef. He does come to your table a few times to discuss the dishes that he has prepared for you and answers any questions you may have about any of his plates. The two servers were great and really on top of things. The food was very fresh. There were some very creative dishes, but some were lacking. The soups were AMAZING! We had a seafood bisque that was wonderful and the chef had really praised the tomato soup he made, and he was definitely right. You could tell the tomatoes were super fresh and there were some amazing flavors. Salad was average, as were the two entrees we had. I had a petit filet, which was good, but nothing to write home about. My boyfriend had the "almost famous" game hen, and there was nothing really memorable about it. The cheese plate was less than average with a tiny slice of cheddar, some nuts and strawberries. I was not impressed. The dessert of chocolate mousse was really yummy though, so they did end on a good note. It was an interesting experience and I am glad I went, but would not go again. It was a romantic place, but not really worth the money.

It is a nice restaurant but not worth the hype. The food is good, but no where near the 5 star level that I expected for fine-dining. The food all tastes good, is seasoned well and there is some level of complexity and some originality. However, it is just not at the same caliber as some of the other fine dining establishments. It is trying, but there is a long way to go. We went and loved the personalized service. The chef was the person who introduced the dishes and served you personally. Also, there were only a couple of other tables occupied so it was extremely intimate. By far the best portion was the soup. There was this squash pepper song, which was absolutely amazing. I could drink that soup the entire day and would be happy. The soup and the salad were the best executed dishes. The worst was dessert as it looked like no effort was put into it and it was similar to stuff at not high caliber places. The atmosphere for the restaurant is alright, however, walking into a not so nice strip mall really takes away from the intrigue of going to a high end dining establishment and paying a lot of money. I think the prix fix price is steep for the level of food, it should be decreased by 60% to make this a real viable place. I would try it once, but if this is a special, special occasion, I would go to some other place with more of an atmosphere.

We went to Six Tables for Valentines Day, so I knew the price would be expensive. $110.00 per person for a six course meal, with 50$ deposit before hand. We left spending a total of 232$ (including 20% tip) for a meal that I felt was sub par on a few courses. Let me first start off with the restaurant move to the food and experience. The restaurant is in a little plaza not really a big deal as some of the best places I have been to are in plazas. My complaint is, when your in the restaurant it is way to dark to see your meal. I ended up spilling a bit of sauce on my dress and the chef actually said "You like that so much your taking it with you" Ummm yeah sure okay. I did enjoy the china as it was petite and cute but really didn't go with the meal. I expected a bit more refinery for the price I was paying. The two ladies who did the majority of the service was really nice, and talked with us throughout the evening and very attentive which is very important when eating out. They balanced it just right. The one thing that annoyed me most was the couple who brought in their 14 month old kid to the 6pm setting. He wailed and was loud throughout the whole evening. Really ruined whatever romantic vibes we were supposed to have. I did over hear the chef apologize to a couple stating he didn't know they were bring the child. Really? You didn't know? You supplied the high chair. When you made the reservations with them you knew then. There was one couple who just got up and left in the middle of the service and I am sure it was because of the child. So that really killed it for us. The meal itself was 5 courses and it was hit or miss. I really enjoyed the appetizer of the Grilled scallop, corn panna cotta, dandelion greens, with a fatback vinaigrette, It was perfectly cooked and everything went well together. I also enjoyed both soups of Shrimp Bisque and the Strawberry Cardamon Brodo (My boyfriend ordered that dish) For the most part my boyfriend enjoyed his choices, I think I just made the wrong choices. I started having problems with the salad on two fronts. First YOU DON'T GRILL Iceburg lettuce and Second, I don't enjoy blue cheese. I actually thought there was two salad choices however I was incorrect. The blue cheese was over everything so It was not like I could just eat around it. The entree choice for me was not really that great. Because of the lighting my seafood looked grey. I choose the Lobster and Crab stack, Roasted Spring vegetables with a romesco hollandaise Sauce. I received two tiny tail pieces and no claws what so ever so that tells me he only had tails to work with. Secondly the crab really over powered the plate and was salty as heck! I really felt it was caned crab meat. I was disappointed. The dessert really made the night though it was delish and I really enjoyed it. But Did I feel I got 232$ worth of great food, atmosphere and service? Eh Not really, Will I be going back? Heck No!

Six Tables offers a unique dining experience that I would recommend. They offer a fixed price 6 course meal. Overall, the meal was delicious. The night began with prosecco and then the chef introduced himself and the courses that he was offering. There was a souffle for an appetizer, a choice of 2 soups, fresh salad, choice of 4 entrees, a cheese plate, and choice of 2 desserts. All courses were wonderful, except the cheese plate. They were trying too hard with a hodgepodge of about 6 different things between pickles, pate, cherries, strawberries, and a crusty bread on the plate. Skip all that and the cheese itself was wonderful. If you're looking for a special occasional dinner with a unique experience, this place is a great choice.
