Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut
Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

New spot in Westchase, very sleek space with a Green Theme! Awesome food mainly Pizzas all with Organic Ingredients & Hormone Free Meats. The staff is very attentive & quick to answer anyone's questions, and accomodations. As of writing the bar is still awaiting the go ahead from the City to sell Beer & Wine, which should be by Feb or March. They have a broad selection of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas to choose from, plus awesome desserts. I had the Flatbread and Dip Trio for an appetizer, which is flat bread with 3 sauces to dip in, my favorite being the olive. Then for the main course I had the Sausage & Tricolor Peppers Pizza, very nicely done with multi-grain bread & organic peppers. To end it off for dessert I had the Fresh Homemade Brownie, very good too! I also enjoyed the background music not overly radio commercial like many other places in town. Overall a very creative, and eco-friendly concept, which I hope many others will continue in the years to come. Looking forward to the Downtown location opening soon in Jan 2011! BTW I forgot to mention there are also plenty of Vegan & Gluten Free options, plus one can design their own Pizza how they like according to their dietary needs.

We found this place by accident and were very pleasantly surprised. We had a three cheese sundried tomato pizza with pesto sauce that was fabulous. The BBQ chicken pizza had our kids asking for more. Our waiter (Kevin, but he looked and sounded just like Norm McDonald!) was full of all kinds of info about how the ingredients were organic and the tables and menu were made form sustainable resources which was cool to know as long as the food was the star, and it was. There are great lunch deals and lunch specials during the week. We will be back!

If you want a place to go that has great food, fantastic ambiance, and very reasonable prices, this is the place to go. They have a wide variety of food choices and is very organic and green friendly. For dinner, I ate the vegan soy cheese pizza with basil, black olives, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes on a multi-grain bread which was superb. It is quite possibly the best vegan pizza I've ever had. For desert, I ate the cookies, which were served warm with milk. There were three cookies as part of the dessert and it turned out to be a lot, so I would recommend sharing. My friend had the brownie desert, which wasn't as good, but also very large. Again I would highly, highly recommend this to anyone and I can't wait to go again!

It's a good pizza once in a while. As a ny pizza fan I would say I couldn't eat pizza fusion all day long but sometimes the mood strikes. When I go it is enjoyable plus they have a lot of promotions.

Fantastic concept for a growing niche market in the Westchase area, but seriously lacking in the level of customer service. I swear our waiter was high, I mean not that I am judging for recreational drug use, but it would have been nice to actually get the appetizers we ordered, have drinks refilled or just be checked on once in awhile. The food was fantastic, really fresh and a lot of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Prices were really reasonable, but I would order for delivery and let them take some time to train their staff a little longer!

I went here for lunch and had the lunch deal of a small pizza and half salad. I added chicken and spinach to my pizza and had it on a whole wheat crust. It was pretty tasty. My favorite though was the chocolate chip cookies. They are a little grainy b/c of the all natural ingredients, but they are served warm and the chocolate chips are all melty. Yum!
(3)Tara P.
Tried the Westchase version of this pizza place and it was even better then the one downtown! If you haven't tried this place... You gotts!
(5)Lauren R.
Good food. Love the meatball sub app.Great modern feel. Not wild about the all natural soda selection, too sweet.

OMG. Gluten Free BBQ Chicken Pizza to die for! Great service, great food, really nice wait staff. The gluten free brownie... A must try! Pizza Fusion rocks!
(5)Morgan B.
I had a great experience at Pizza Fusion. I thought the pizza was excellent and the ingredients were super fresh. Nothing was greasy and the menu choices are great. I highly recommend the meatball sliders they were delicious! I will definitely be returning.

I didn't think that you could make pizza healthy. And if you could, I was convinced that I would hate it. I have never been so glad to be wrong. The pizza here is unique in that it is healthy. They make a point of having multigrain, gluten free, or organic crusts. The sauces are surprising with (in addition to tomato sauce) olive oil, pesto, and bbq sauce. The cheeses are decadent with Feta, Fresh Mozzarella, Goat, Gorgonzola, Organic Mozzarella, and Vegan Soy Cheese. and the ingredients are so so fresh it is like it came right out of the ground. Look for roasted artichoke hearts, try-color peppers, and hormone free and preservative free "free range" chicken. I am serious. These guys are legit. Now that I have put out a cornucopia of tasty toppings, lets talk about how they worked together as a pizza. My wife and I shared a try-color pepper, roasted portobello mushroom, and sausage (also preservative and hormone free) pizza on multigrain. We were a little surprised when it came out in a rectangular shape almost like a larger flat bread. But I can't argue with the result. I would never have known that it was a multigrain crust except for the slightly different color than you would get with a white flour crust. The crust was tasty. The texture was interesting in a good way since it was crisp on the bottom (to me the mark of a good pizza) but still supple and soft on the rest of the pizza. The toppings were piled on but not the the extent that it made it difficult to eat. I could still eat it by picking it up and folding it so no fork required. It was piping hot when it came out and the cheese didn't fall off or separate. Unfortunately, I don't remember how the sauce was. The portobello's were fresh and not canned or preserved. All in all a pizza that I would love to eat again. Oh and they had Boylan's birch beer which topped it all off for me. The service was very good but nothing really stands out as memorable. They filled our drinks twice and we never really had to wait for anything. I guess I would say that it was above average for a pizza joint. I took a picture of half and put it on their page so check it out. I had a large and it was enough for my wife and I. We are good eaters so a light eater could get 3 people out of it. Their sizes are medium, large and x-large. The decor is trendy. I enjoyed it but it did seem a bit like they raided an Ikea. And they played house music at noon on a Sunday. Personally I like house music but it irked my wife. I guess it is all part of the new age, green experience these days. Then there was the parking. This place is in a "Mixed Use" community meaning that there are homes, condos, and apartments mixed in around the stores so that people walk to them. This means limiting parking as part of the design. The thing is that the parking was pretty much full on a Sunday at noon when things were very quiet. I would hate to park here on a Friday night. It would be fine if I lived here but I work near here and live 30 minutes away. That is too far to walk either way. So beware of parking problems. All in all: Food 5 Atmosphere 4 Convenience 3 Service 4
(4)Matt L.
Pizza was very average. I felt like it was overpriced pizza. The service was very slow almost a little scatter brained.
(3)Mary M.
Great experience with take-out. Easy online ordering. Great gluten free crust. I had the Hawaiian and pepperoni. Both were great. We will be back!
(5)Dianna B.
I was really impressed! I went here with a friend to celebrate my new employment status, and on her urging, we went here. We ordered the Farmer's pizza, with light sauce on the whole grain crust. What we got was a delicious pie, heavy on flavour, light on the red. It was filling, and we even had enough to take home. Will certainly come back!
(4)Gina D.
Stopped by to check this place out. I was impressed with the options. I choose the Farmers Market with Italian sausage. Perfect size as I ordered the individual $9.79. Fresh veggies consisted of artichokes, roasted red onion, zucchini, and portobello mushrooms and three cheese. It was very tasty and filling. They have lots of options and gluten free and whole wheat crust. The individual was more like a flat bread but I like that as it did not have a lot of dough and was crispy. Glad this is only 10 minutes from my house as I will be back.
(5)Gigi S.
I've heard about this place a lot, and seen the green little hybrid parked on the curb, and have actively avoided coming in since I don't really care how sustainable, gluten-free or whole grain pizza ingredients are. I only care that the pizza is good. It's gotta be a great deal, a new flavor, or perhaps service that inspires you to question all previous service. This place is just plain different. I ordered a whole grain crust personal. It was an absolutely hideous, sad looking pizza compared to puffy doughed places that slather on the sauce, but it tasted alright. I stuck to the organic wine. Again, I care not at all that it's organic. No matter, didn't seem like I was paying more for this organic thing I didn't care about. Wine and pizza are supposed to be a treat, something you only get once in a while, so that it's not luxurious, huge, calorie busting pizza concerns me a bit. If I'm not eating pizza every night, why would I turn it into a device that delivers me fiber? In any case, the service was great and I'll be back for the great deals, but with a bit of skepticism. I believe that you if for whatever reason you try to take a self-indulgent thing like pizza and give it a healthy, eco-conscious edge, it had better taste damn good. The odd shaped, small wafer that is their personal isn't going to do it for me, but I'm hopeful. The deals offered might make this a cool neighborhood bar, but I'll have to try something else and see.
(3)Bonita B.
A healthy (TASTE GOOD) type of pizza. I had the traditional cheese pizza with a multigrain crust... very, very yummy! I ordered a large since I was sharing; note, there's no medium. There are 3 sizes: personal pan (1-person, 4 slices (pretty big)), large (3-4 person, 8 slices), and extra large (6-8, 16 slices)). The slices are in squares. :) There are 3 types of crusts: organic traditional, multi-grain, and gluten-free. I guess it is true... All good things comes in 3s. :) They have a surplus of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and specials. The manager, Susan, was very nice and very helpful (Susan and the cooks deserve all 5 stars). The other two young ladies (workers) need to continue to be groomed in customer services and wait-staffing; they were pleasant but somewhat forget to come back to you to take your order (hence the 4 stars).
(4)Kathy D.
Pizza Fusion is a very friendly experience, if you can find a place to park. Parking in this Westgate area is terrible, so I usually try to avoid going to eateries in this area. I love my pizza. It can be a healthier version and I am fine with that, but there is something to be said about the grease and cheese oozing off your pie. I consider this a well prepared, fresh pizza that is worth fighting for parking to eat. The pizza is thin, my preference and I am liking the whole wheat/grain crust. The veggies on the pizza were well executed and appeared fresh, everything I believe is made to order. Okay, I admit I am picky about my pizza, this pizza is different in a healthier version of regular pizza, if one can call pizza healthy (I can). My pizza was crispy, loaded with veggies and had enough cheese to satisfy your cheese craving. They also make their own soda. Like the pizza it was different, but good. Service was the best and very knowledgeable. Yes in my pizza taste, its a keeper. I Overheard talk of Happy Hour, beer and wine, not sure what the deal is, but there is a Happy Hour. What's a girl to do? I'll take my pizza white or whole wheat, just let me park to eat it.
(3)Monique A.
Great pizza, healthy high quality ingredients, great menu variety & awesome happy hour food specials.
(5)Rachel M.
We like u like u like u! U were so yummy in our tummy! U rocked your sauce sauce sauce. It was not dry, we so don't lie! Ur dessert was sweet. It was the perfect treat. Ur service was good. We will be back, u knew we would.
(4)Kelleigh M.
I'd give it 5 stars on the product alone but the service is always terrible here. The multi grain crust is the way to go. Get a small chx bruschetta salad and a founders pizza and you're set.
(3)Shannon H.
Great little place. Fresh, earthy salads and delicious, organic pizzas. This is the second location I've visited and I've never been disappointed. Somehow I feel less guilty about indulging in pizza here as opposed to most other pizza joints. They have various nightly specials and an awesome lunch deal during the day. If you haven't tried it yet, you should!
(4)Tiff P.
Mmmmm! It's Pizza and beer night?! Pizza with fresh ingredients and plenty of brews on tap. Pizza Fusion can offer you your standard cheese with meats, or gourmet with healthy crust options and fresh veggies. You can make your own, and I swear they're all made with care. I love my pizza, and every once in awhile I love my beer too. This place is a perfect pairing and worth the hassle of parking.
(4)Shelby S.
The food is tasty but after my last experience, I will not be back. I called in a delivery order and requested a special offer that was listed on their website. The young lady took my order and advised that it would arrive in about 45 minutes. About 30 minutes after placing my order, I get a phone call from her saying the deal was no longer available and that if I still wanted it, it would be full price. I find it unacceptable that they waited 30 minutes to call and tell me this, my children were both ready to eat dinner at this point and I had to start all over. I asked her if she could honor it because they still had it posted on their web, and she said no, so I cancelled my order. I found it funny that they called me back 15 minutes later to tell me they would make an exception this once and give the special price (they prob already made my pizzas and didnt want to be stuck with them). Out of principal I declined....Not to mention I had already pursued other options at that point. Pizza places are a dime a dozen, so service is very important to me when I order. I will not be ordering from there any time soon.
(3)K A.
Great food and really good lunch deals. We usually sit at the bar and the service is quick. I've tried a lot of the pizzas and salads. The big kahuna is my favorite by far but you could have any pizza and walk out happy.
(5)Stephen H.
I lived about a mile away from here and came in often! Now I live in Los Angeles and there isn't a Pizza Fusion in the entire state, it's one of the things about the Tampa area that I miss the most. The service is awesome and friendly! They won't rush you out the door, and are happy to help and make adjustments to your order. They really care about making your experience a good one. They also don't take too long to serve you, so it's the best of both worlds! The food is amazing! The salads, pizza, wraps...everything tastes even better than you'd expect. You walk away from a meal feeling full, but not fat or unhealthy like you would at a fast-food Resturant. Even the organic wine is delicious! When I come back to visit, this is going to be one of my first stops off the plane!
(5)Julie G.
Love the food, love the staff. Ask for Macey, she's the best waitress ever! And their delivery driver, Danny, is just about the coolest guy you'll ever meet. Definitely recommend it for anyone wanting healthy alternatives for pizza and sandwiches!
(5)Michael P.
This place puts an amazing twist on pizza! They are gluten free friendly too! Great food, interesting sodas, and great service! Try it out!
(5)Brian S.
I'm officially a fan! This place has fresh ingredients and does great things with them. There are a variety of great options on the menu, including gluten free and vegan. I've only just begun to experience this place but what I've seen, I'm really impressed. Check this place out and enjoy it.
(4)Danielle C.
I really loved Pizza Fusion. I am in Tampa for a conference, and colleagues and I wanted to get dinner. Two of the four of us are vegetarian, and I try to watch what I eat (not to splurge EVERY time I go out) so we were looking for places that would have enough options for us all. Pizza Fusion had several flavorful and exciting options for us all, including meat eaters. The price wasn't too bad either, and there are daily specials. The service was great, and the food came in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend.
(5)Athena C.
Great, had a wonderful time. Great food and service...love it. Cannot wait to go back....I will now be a definite regular.
(4)Wendi B.
We had the pizza before many times, decided to have 2 large pepperoni delivered. We were surprised with 4 teenagers we had pizza left. It tasted like a cheap frozen pizza. Did call manager to see if they changed ingredients, he said no but didn't offer an apology or try to make it right. We will not order again.

I love it! Best pizza I ever had! Great service! Love the desserts! Also love the meatball sliders! It's pricey, but it's good quality!!!

Irony. The soup was awesome. The salad not so much. Known for pizza (duh, it's in the name), I had a small slice. It was decent. ... I would try it at least 1 more time.

Pizza Fusion is definitely my new favorite pizza place in the area! The ingredients are organic and fresh, and the whole wheat crust is very tasty, thin, and just the right amount of crisp. As a self-proclaimed "pizza blotter," I was able to put away my napkins at Pizza Fusion; the pies are not dripping in grease whatsoever. Wonderful.

We love that Pizza Fusion delivers! No longer do I have to eat greasy pizza when ordering out. We found out after our first visit that they use fresh and organic products. You can really taste the quality in the sauce.

If you come to Pizza Fusion and don't order your pizza on the multigrain crust, you'll miss out. It tastes wholesome in a good way, not grainy or overly wheat-y. Try: Founder's pie or BBQ chicken pizzas and the roasted beet salad. Also: Their all-natural cola and black cherry sodas are delicious.

Thanks to a $10 for $20 LivingSocial deal, we decided to give Pizza Fusion a try. The Westchase location is new-ish and we must have timed it perfectly because right after we walked in, the crowds...they swarmed. I love the selection of fresh/organic product. The flatbread approach to pizza crust is also really cool. Cute place, and props for a delicious array of cane sugar sodas! I had a pear & gorgonzola salad and I opted for the Farmers Market pie: fresh red onion, roasted portobello and zucchini and artichoke hearts. I died and went to pizza topping heaven. The boy maintains that "veggies have no place on a pizza" so he had a roasted chicken caesar and a pepperoni & meatball pizza. The food is without question outstanding!

I really enjoy their take on fresh, organic ingredients. You can taste the difference in the food! Their vegan pizza is the best dairy free pizza that I've found in Tampa! I drive 20 minutes each direction for it when there are many closer pizza restaurants!

So bummed. Called today to place an order and the girl on the phone seemed confused about everything I asked for, and apparently the local franchises are all changing to "Tampa Pizza Company" and are no longer Pizza Fusion. From researching online it seems like they will be "mostly" the same. Our experience tonight has already convinced me to go back to ordering Domino's. When our order arrived I saw on the receipt that they had charged me $9 for a half fusion salad(previous price $5.79, and the full size before was $9.79). The girl who took my order said that they no longer carried the full salad so I said I'd take a half. My fault for not having her read back the order to me line by line with the prices, I should have realized something was off when it took 4 tries to get the name of the salad right, and 3 tries to get the pizza right(it was a multigrain meat lover's pizza). In the end the pizza we received wasn't multigrain, we ended up with a salad about the size of the receipt for $9(seriously, I'll be posting a picture), and the only thing they got right was the 2 liter of diet coke. I called about the salad and the guy on the phone said it wasn't correct but if they refund the full order and then charge it again he "didn't know" what would happen(what?). In the end I settled for a $3 credit on my next order which I'll probably never use, since I can't imagine I'll order from there again. As for the pizza itself, there's almost no sauce on it and the sauce tastes very different. It's also way, way greasier than it was before. Overall, I can't recommend this place anymore. Will be on the hunt for a great local pizza place.

Great food! Way over priced on gluten-free up charge. Staff has been told many many times throughout the years and still no change. Get with the program.

This place was a huge disappointment. I would classify it as Pizza for 21st Century yuppies who wouldn't know a good pie if you hit them in the face with it. And in addition to the Pizza being terrible, the service was also below average at best. I'm guessing that people who like tons of strange ingredients on their Pizza would like this place. Avoid it all costs.

They deliver yummy vegan pizza! Woohoo! Need I say more? Try their brownie. Do it.
