Combination pita with cucumber/yogurt sauce made for a great lunch. Chicken was good but the gyro side was better. Probably go straight gyro next time. Tasty pita that was both fresh and chewy. Tasty Greek salad that included potato salad and a side of hummus. A few more tomatoes would have made both the sandwich and salad even stronger.

I don't know who the bearded ginger fellow is but he is kicking ass right now. Full house, line to the door, phone keeps ringing and he is doing it all himself with customers who keep changing orders. Patience of a saint and polite as can be. TIP your servers yall. Hope he gets a promotion and hope his boss knows how great he is doing! Also the lady in the kitchen is cranking out pitas left and right all by herself with in-house orders to go orders and online orders. Great job guys.

Pita's Republic is a fusion of classic Greek specialties along with fresh & healthy Mediterranean choices. The Pita's Republic chain began as the brainchild of Moe Elkasri who founded this Mediterranean fusion restaurant while studying for his MBA at the University of South Florida here in Tampa back in the 80s. Since that time he has opened more than a dozen Pita's Republic restaurants around the Tampa Bay region. This particular branch of Pita's Republic can be found on N. Dale Mabry Highway, less than a mile south of the intersection with Ehrlich / Bearss. The restaurant is located directly across the highway from Sweet Tomatoes, and in the same small shopping center with a Shapes health club and a mattress store. The restaurant has many favorite Greek specialties including pitas. gyros, pocket pitas, wraps, salads, and flat breads. But add to that some interesting choices such as pitas with grilled fish, shawarma (grilled beef), Philly-style steak and cheese, deli meats, tuna or chicken salad, and a big selection of vegetarian pitas. They offer wraps with Middle Eastern, Asian, Greek, Tex-Mex, and American fillings, If you prefer salads you'll find the traditional Tarpon Springs-version of a Greek salad with a scoop of potato salad, as well as several variations of chicken, and gyro meat salads. You can also have a chop which includes your choice of proteins along with lettuce, tabouli salad, rice, feta cheese, Kalamata olives and homemade Tzatziki sauce. For flatbreads you can order the typical Mediterranean choices with hummus, vegetarian, and grilled meats, or you can jazz it up and order BBQ chicken, Tuscan chicken, or Pesto chicken flat bread pizzas. They offer sides of hummus, avocado spread, falafel, tabouli salad, stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie, baklava, and a big assortment of fruit smoothies. The lady behind the counter told me that everything is made fresh to order, and all of their sauces are homemade. She said that even the pita bread is their own special recipe as a result of the owner's passion to perfect the mixture of flavor and nutrition. I had a tasty gyro pita sandwich with a small side salad, and very much enjoyed my meal. The cost was about $10, and that seemed fair given the quality of the food. Now that I know some more about this chain I will add them in to my rotation of lunch places to grab a quick, nutritious, and delicious meal.

I've had worse, but definitely have had much better. While I had no problems with the staff as others have mentioned, the food was truly meh. The gyro was ok, but didn't give me that feeling that it was fresh. Perhaps because the lettuce was brown to black, or because the meat had no bite to it. The worst was the falafel. Clearly microwaved, it's taste was also off. Definitely not made or cooked today. I won't return.

Pita Republic on Dale Mabry offers many fresh options of middle east style food. The prices are reasonable and the ingredients seemed fresh. I tried two different pita sandwiches, and both were delicious. I took most of one of the sandwiches home for lunch the following day. The person behind the counter who took my order was helpful with suggestions. The owner came out to greet our group and even brought us a sample of a new item. I will definitely return for lunch or for a lite supper. Parking is easy as the restaurant is located in a small shopping center.

Mmm, Greek food. - Classic Gyro - Mediterranean Chop Salad - Grape Leaves - Tzatziki sauce, lots of tzatziki sauce - Fresh, all fruit, all-natural smoothies This place isn't fancy, but they're always fast and fresh. Sure, they could be a little more personable, but I'm not looking to make a friendship, just here to eat. It is a little tucked away on Dale Mabry, just south of Bearss. But, they even have their own parking spaces guarded by threatening signs. Makes you feel like a really important customer.

I love Pita's Republic. I've been hitting this place up since high school. The pitas they use are chewy but not tough, definitely not dry, and made with whole grain. I always choose their cucumber yogurt sauce and add feta. They put just enough to add to yhe flavor without masking the seasoning od the meats. So fresh and delicious. Whether I get gyro meat, chicken, or a combo, I'm always left satisfied. I bet my boyfriend would love the Philly Steak-n-Cheese pita. They have a great selection of chips- my favorite is Miss Vickie's salt and vinegar. They're so crunchy. They have a stamp card- so get those punches! Oh, try their smoothies too!

I always have a great experience and great food here, but my concern is that they only have one.Uno. Single. person working there. She is the cashier, the cook.. I think there is phenomenal service for how thin the employee is stretched. I suggest the vegetarian pitanini (a pita panini) I chose the mini salad as the side with tzatziki as the dressing. If I could, I would take their tzatziki intravenously.

How to Ensure You Won't Get Repeat Customers: 1. Don't give me a warm greeting when I walk up to your counter, make me feel like I'm intruding on your day. 2. Stare at me as if to say "hurry up and order" while I'm looking at your exhaustive menu board. 3. After I order, please talk on your phone as you prepare my food. I'm sure this won't affect my wait time or the accuracy of my order. 4. Make me wait too long for my wrap while you talk on the phone. 5. Put rice in my Asian Fusion wrap after I request that you hold the rice. 6. Don't issue a sincere apology for doing #5. 7. Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city.
