Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Went there last night (Sunday) with family who were visiting from MI. Three of us got the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. We were served our usual half bowl of soup... why they can't fill a bowl is beyond me... We asked for seconds and were told it would be a 30 minute wait for the Zuppa Toscana as they ran out. WTH... Sunday night, full, restaurant, no soup. No apologies, just " it will be 30 minutes until the soup is done". So if you want a half a bowl of soup, this is the place to go.

This review is just on the soup, salad and breadsticks. I came with friends who work nearby and lunch was as expected. I did get the soup, salad and breadsticks and enjoyed my lunch. I loved both the pasta fagioli and minestrone soups. The salad (dressing on the side) was very good, too. Our server was friendly and attentive.

If I could rate this place a 3.5, I would but can't urge to press four stars... The location is prime real estate to the mall and always is busy. My girlfriend and myself sat in the bar area last night because we dressed too comfortably and didn't feel right sitting in the main room. The trade off is that we had a personable server and good service for our late night munchies. The soups came in piping hot (pasta Fagioli) and our bread as well. Our main entrees were delicious and service was good. I cannot say much else because this is your typical chain restaurant and I am assuming 90% of people in the bay areas has been to one before. I would recommend this place on off-nights and to avoid on the weekends because you will wait a good while before being seated.

I've been to this location twice. The first time wasn't too bad, slower service, didn't check up on us much but the food wasn't bad. The second time (attempt), I called ahead and told them I was bringing my team (20 people). They don't take reservations on Fridays which I don't understand if you're planning to bring a large party. I went 30 minutes prior to meeting the team to put our names in. I was told that they only had to put together a few tables and didn't give me a wait time. An hour later I was told "15 more minutes", twenty minutes later I was told "15 more minutes". After almost two hours I told them to cancel our names, we were leaving. The manager told us "10 more minutes to clean off the tables", but with 19 teenage girls, who were starving and had to get picked up by parents, we called off our team dinner. Very disappointed.

I have no idea why people wait so long for a table at this place. There are plenty of other options around. Get a clue Olive Garden... Call ahead seating would make the customer experience extremely better. I guess they don't have to change anything if so many people are willing to wait 40 minutes for a table...

Came here because of a coupon that I received on my phone ($5 for a lunch of soup/salad/breadsticks), so we decided to go and enjoy it. Very nice server, manager came up and spoke with us for a bit, which was nice and a good atmosphere. I love coming here when it's not crowded during lunch (sometime after 2pm) so I can enjoy eating without shear craziness.

Since the bride and I celebrated St Valentine's Day with dinner at Bern's Wednesday evening, this was our Valentines lunch at Olive Garden. Olive Garden does not disappoint. Good food and inexpensive. Our waitress Candace was outstanding.she could compete with the best at Bern's

The last 2 times my family and I visited this restaurant we were treated horribly! The first of the 2 times we went it to sit down and eat. We went in and we're told we'd have a table within 10 minutes and we never got a pager. We sat right in front where they could see us and started noticing people who came in behind us walk up with their pager lit up and get seated ahead of us. We walked up and asked why we weren't given a pager and the young man acted like we were lying to him and kinda blew us off. We finally got seated and the rest of our dining experience was ok. Last night we went in for take out and we were told 30 minutes on the phone. We showed up 35 minutes after the order was placed and waited another 30 inside. I ordered the chicken Carbonara and they brought out chicken and shrimp Carbonara. I told them I never ordered shrimp and they showed me the receipt and said I did order it. I hate shrimp and never in a million years would I have said that on the phone but they just treated me as if I were lying to them. I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for the right food so I just took it home, took out the shrimp and ate it anyway. The entire meal had a strong shrimp taste and on top of that all 3 of our meals tasted like they have been sitting forever. After they showed us the receipt they never put it in the bag so I didn't even have the servers name to go by. I have never been treated so poorly at any restaurant as bad as I have the last to times at this location. I hate the fact that I would have to cross town to eat at another Olive Garden, but unless I get an apology from this Manager I'll never step foot in this location again! I used to manage restaurants myself and I don't care how busy you get, you should never treat a customer as if you don't need their business because once your crew starts following this example it becomes contagious and eventually customers will start dropping like flies!

Location is busy because it is across from mall but wait time is usually minimal and accurate to what they quote.. Breadsticks are mouth watering deliciousness and the food quality is always good. I have found that this location is hit or miss with service but the last time I had Devin and he was great!
(4)Elizabeth D.
My hat goes off to Devin R. who gave us the best service we have ever had at a chain restaurant. Food was as expected but the service was beyond any of that we have had at other chains bar none. Box for the pasta my husband ordered but didn't like. He got something else instead with no additional charge and I have lunch for tomorrow. :) Extra soup packed and ready to go home without even asking. Quick and efficient. Done with a smile. Definitely earned a giant tip!
(4)Samantha R.
It is hard to mess up unlimited soup, salad and bread sticks, which is what I normally get when I come here. I do have to give them kudos for expanding the soup selection from their standard pasta fagioli and minestrone, which while not truly authentic, are good hearty soups. The Tuscan chicken sausage is a new favorite - a light cream base with tons of flavor. So, while I don't typically go for big chain restaurants, Olive Garden is my top pick when in a pinch.
(3)Xiao Z.
Our server disappears for quite a few times during our visit. We had to get the host to find our server so we can pay and leave. All of our dishes were very bland compare to other Olive garden we have been to. Really hope our next vist will be a better experience.
(2)Steve E.
I'm not normally one to eat at a lot of chain restaurants, since the food is basically the same at each one, with very little variation from site to site. Olive Garden has always been a favorite of mine, and honestly for one major reason - the unlimited soup & salad combo. The Italian dishes are good, although many of their competitors do a much better job with "authentic" Italian dishes. I find myself regularly craving Olive Garden's soup and salad combo because it is just THAT good. I like the mix of fresh salad ingredients with their house dressing which is a spicy vinegar-based Italian dressing. They have four different soups (a creamy Chicken & Gnocchi, Pasta e Fagioli which is a mix between chili and minestrone soup, Zuppa Toscana with spicy sausage and potatoes, and the classic Italian Minestrone). And then there's the garlicky breadsticks fresh from the oven. Yummmmmm! All of this for about $7, and you can have as many refills as you like. The Citrus Park location is close to home, and I think that their servers are a bit friendlier than most.

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got the new Garlic Rosemary Chicken and all I can say is wow! Food came hot, fast and tasted amazing! We will definitely come back for sure! My wife's Alfredo plate is empty... Must've been awesomeness as well! Service was good as well!
(5)Fatima A.
This is a regular Olive Garden but man, this place is tiny and it gets slammed! There are crazy wait times and the staff seems to be a little overwhelmed at those times... I usually sit at the bar where things seem to be more timely. Olive Garden has a new special menu that offers an entree, app and dessert for one low price - it's a great deal!
(2)Mandy R.
Great food great service I just hate with all chain restaurants it's a up charge for everything. So tonight's was replacing chicken with sausage 4 dollar up charge so switching meat for meat requires a full charge of 4 dollars. I never understood that. There is my rant. Nothing bad about the service.
(3)Lethia M.
Really my son and i eat at olive garden alot had to stop because it got completely nasty! Then started seeing good commercials wanted it again and not to my surprise it was completely nasty the spaghetti noodles were completely dried up. No more never again!!!

Well, it's Olive Garden and as much as I opted for another lunch option, I was forced to go for a lunch meeting. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and wouldn't be as opposed to going back in the future. The fried lasagna we had as an appetizer was awesome. It's not the healthiest option for an app, but it's so good, you won't care. I chose to go with the soup, salad and breadsticks lunch and I added a plate of fettuccine alfredo for $3 more. I started with the chicken and gnocchi soup. It was very salty and I couldn't finish it, so I chose to go with the pasta fagioli. It was just ok, the flavor was lacking and the pasta was so overcooked that it was just mush. I was hoping they would do like Carrabba's and add pasta just before serving to keep it al dente, but that wasn't the case. The salad was good. It was very overdressed, but still tasty. The breadsticks were good, as I remember in the past. The fettuccine alfredo mini-dish I got was also good. The fettuccine was al dente and the sauce was very flavorful. The service was above average, despite the restaurant being very busy. So, although this won't be my first choice for a lunch spot, if I have no choice again in the future, I won't be as skeptical.

My review is simple. I came here a few months ago to enjoy a soup & salad. I received my soup... and I was more disgusted than I've ever been in my life. While eating my soup... I tasted something... terribly odd. I spit out this strange "thing" in my soup... and load and behold... it was a USED bandaid. I was in complete shock. The bartender took away my bowl (not before I snapped a few pics) & got a manager. She comped the checked, and gave us a $40 gift card (which I gave way). I couldn't fathom returning there ever again. I tried calling the phone number provided to me, but the person never returned my calls. I was disappointed how the entire situation was handled, as if a comped check and $40 gift card could really ever mediate the experience of having a complete stranger's used bandaid in my mouth!!! Terribly disappointed doesn't begin to explain my feelings.

Food and service were both great. The server was a bit busy, but her personality and effort were tops. One of the members of my group asked for their dressing on the side for their salad. It was no problem.
(4)Teddy B.
I like olive garden. Sometimes the service isn't great but I've never been to a place that was everytime. Love the soup and salad get it every time, get the dressing on the side.
(4)Natalie S.
My first experience was a horror show. I didn't get the to go order I wanted and my husband picked it up so he didn't know. My last two trips have been stellar. I was given extra breadsticks and a hearty salad. Definitely redeemed themselves.
(4)Peter C.
First let me start off by saying the server was great and attentive... The food is just disgusting.... The 16.99 stuffed chicken Marsala tasted like rubber... I couldn't even eat the chicken the texture was so disgusting. They kept brining out hot plates that were microwaved... The breadsticks tasted like salted pretzels.. The salad was wet and slimy... I will never visit another Olive Garden in my life. I don't know if they are all like this or just this one is but I'm not willing to find out....
(1)Sommer A.
We come here often and have never had a bad experience with dining in! The staff is extremely friendly, and I have never had an unpleasant server at all! They are always on top of their game. It can get a little crowded, but we have never had to wait for very long. It is one of the nicest Olive Gardens I've ever been too - MUCH nicer and cleaner than the others in Tampa. The only issue I've had is with their ToGo service. It is outdated (no online ordering or carside service), and usually it takes longer than they say it will.
(4)Becka J.
The $12.99 deal was a waste of my time, money, and waste of food. Wouldn't go back . Everything was cold just a big disappointment.
(1)Bianca G.
I do NOT recommend the current Fiesta Italiana $12.99 deal that is going on. Myself and 3 others went and all ordered different variations of this deal. We all came to a similar conclusion: our food was just OK, not anything special, and all of the food was salty. The breadsticks, both sausage and chicken & gnocchi soups, and chicken meatballs appetizer were extremely salty. Some cons about the food we ordered: the chicken meatballs appetizer is spicy, the mozzarella chicken is REALLY cheesy (too much), the tortellini are good but the sauce would taste better without the meat in it, the 5 cheese pasta is (again) TOO cheesy, and the tri-colored pasta dish is very plain. The dolcini dessert isn't bad, but out of the amaretto tiramisu, limoncello, and chocolate mousse, the limoncello was the best and the other 2 were mediocre at best (the chocolate one surprisingly wasn't very good). This location has great service though, but I feel bad for these poor waiters who have to run around so much because of how busy it gets. So if you go here I would recommend trying something else on the menu other than the new $12.99 deal. It's really not worth the money.
(2)Glenn C.
Always had a good experience with both the food and service. We found we can always get a seat at the bar even on a busy Friday night. The service at the bar is great.
(4)Roman F.
Very nice olive garden. Excellent service, great food. Nice dining experience.
(5)Amy V.
As much as I love a good local business, thank goodness for a consistent chain! When it comes down to business, I love using Olive Garden's takeout for large office meetings. They think of everything. They take care of things I would of had to but now don't: - Ice for beverages - Heavy duty serving utensils (yes, I do keep and reuse them!) - All place setting materials: napkins, plates, plastic ware Tip: for a group of ten men, one large salad bowl (which says feeds 4-6) is more than enough. Same with the fettuccine chicken alfredo (which says feeds 6-8). I usually get those with a pan of lasagna. - Fast and accurate - Friendly and helpful Convenient location in Citrus Park right off the Veteran's Expressway. Orders are always ready for pickup.
(4)Jennifer H.
Love the breadsticks- they are addicting!! The service was good this time around- they really took care of my 7 year old. The food was very good. I would come back again!
(4)Shauna E.
Olive Garden is definitely a chain restaurant, but they do it well. Their menu is always changing while keeping a few Italian staples on board to appease the masses. We went as a group of 9 last night for my brother-in-law's 16th birthday. Our server did a good job despite being kind of nervous--I get the impression he was new and not very experienced--but what he lacked in finesse he made up in friendliness and enthusiasm. Everyone's food was great and came out hot and fresh. As a group of 9, you expect you take a long time to eat but we were in and out in under and hour and a half. My only complaint for the whole night is that my glass of Reisling was room temperature and not cold but what can you do? Everything else was fantastic and we'll be back again.
(4)James B.
A commercial for 1/2 off a second entrée was the deciding factor in my family's visit to the Olive Garden today for a late lunch early dinner. As a chain restaurant they seem to do it right as far as the food goes. Our server seemed to be very rushed which unfortunately spilled over into our dining experience. We received our soup and literally 3 minutes later received our appetizer followed by a 2 minute break then received our entrées, all of our food in less than 5 minutes. We nibbled on our appetizer but boxed most up to enjoy at home. My wife alerted the manager (Rick) and he promptly offered a gift card for $15 for a future visit.
(4)Sam Q.
I like the soup and salad deal for lunch. More the bread than the salad, but that's beside the point. I remember when the side of Alfredo sauce for the breadsticks was complimentary. A looooong time ago. Olive Garden is as Italian as Taco Bell is Mexican, but I mean this in the nicest way. Carrabas gets it a little closer, but you need to look elsewhere for truly authentic Italian cuisine. That's not to say its bad. This place gets PACKED on weekends, which means they must be doing something right. As a declared carbaholic, the Olive Garden breadsticks with Alfredo sauce are A-OK.
(3)Jeff E.
Olive Garden is a guilty pleasure. They offer Americanized Italian food, but the quality is so good, its hard to resist going. This location is one of the newer location, and so was built with the more upscale vision that Olive Garden has recently embraced. The bar is huge and there is plenty of seating. Be warned, the restaurant is extremely popular and you will find yourself having to wait 15-30 minutes at prime time. The food is great and I can't say I have ever had a meal that I didn't enjoy. One of my favorite things about Olive Garden is that even though they are a chain restaurant, they manage to add three or four new menu items every two months or so. The service is fairly good, although again, when it gets busy, expect for food and orders to take a little longer. Food prices are a little expensive, but you do get all you can eat breadsticks, salad, and the meals are very large. Overall, I enjoy the restaurant and recommend it to others.
(4)Peter L.
My wife and I had dinner at The Olive Garden (Citrus Park, Fl.) last week. After using a coupon and gift card I was in for $9.00 out of pocket. I can honestly say that our dinners were not even worth the $9.00. The staff was pleasant and our waitress was very nice; the food was terrible. I can't think of another word to describe the food but terrible. OG I hope you're reading these reviews; I'm not trying to beat up on you and I did like the all the employees who helped us, they were all very nice.
(2)Jerry G.
I've been here a number of times with the last being the other night. It's close and usually packed and gives off a nice "italian" ambiance. We ordered the Sampler Italiano 3 appetizer and two of the three we picked were not available. I then ordered the Tour of Italy. We chose the endless Salad with the meal, and as has been usual lately, the large salad bowl comes about half the way filled. Hmmm. I guess I can understand that some folks don't finish a full bow and that creates waste. okay. We ordered an additional bowl of salad and finished that. The tour of Italy was decent. The lasagna has a tomato sausage sauce which is not overpowering, so it was good. The chicken parmigiani and the fettuccine Alfredo were a little dry but edible. The House Red wine was actually pretty good. All in all, an Olive Garden experience. Will I go here again...sure. It adds a little variety to going out and, overall, it is enjoyable.
(3)Tiffany B.
It's Olive Garden- not much else to say. The food is the same as every other Olive Garden, which gets them a solid 3 stars. I gave them an extra star because the service at this location is always really quick and friendly.
(4)Robin W.
Olive Garden you know just what I want warm delicious bread sticks, tasty salad and Chicken Parmigiana. What can I say the food is always great and the wines always flowing. The difference is in the wait staff, this time I had one of the best waiters so far his name is Daniel. He made the experience wonderful and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. I love Olive Garden and will defiantly make it a point to ask for him next time. Go check it out and see.
(4)Julie C.
Great service! Great deal with soup salad and breadsticks! Add a glass of vino! Perfect meal!!! :)
(4)Eddie G.
Olive Garden what to say? This location was great!... While vacationing in Florida I had decided to go out and spend the night at olive garden in Tampa for the simple reason of tasting pasta... I was first greeted by a gentlemen (host) that gave us an ETA to be served and handed us our disc... Surely within moments we were taken to our table and orders were taken by a wonderful waitress wish I remembered her name.... But that goes unsaid the level of professionalism and customer service that was provided was exceptional. She also help cater the breads to our liking as they were too salty for my taste (thank you!)... Also the meals were of quality and constancy as my girl and I both received their "Tour of Italy" and were on the same level. We both enjoyed our meals and overall experience here. Thank you Olive Garden for such a welcoming night will stop by when I travel to Florida mid year, you guys made me have a good night out there!
(5)Gene D.
Went to this eatery on Veterans Day and received a free meal. Due to the number of Vets taking part in this program it took awhile to get seated, but well worth the wait. Our server was excellent as was the food. Salad was fresh, bread sticks were served hot. Our meals were served promptly and were of ample portions. Thanks Olive Garden for a great meal and for honoring the Veterans.
