Recently visiting another nearby restaurant my friend ran into Mr. Empanada. She purchased a beef and cheese empanada for herself, which I had a small bite of, which was pretty tasty for never having a empanada with cheese. She also got a pizza empanada that was passed along to my son...... Let me tell you.... He devoured it! He kept saying "yum!"! Lastly for myself, I had the beef empanada (picadillo). This was super tasty. The meat was very flavourful and the shell was crunchy and now oiled down like others I have had from elsewhere. There are several locations around the area, so next time I will need to stop in and taste some more!

I have been to many Mr Empanadas in the Tampa area. This one has by far been the best. Friendly service, empanadas cooked to perfection. I plan on coming back every time I visit as well as taking some home for my freezer to satisfy any cravings. N

The beef and cheese is the best I've had!!! The chicken and Broccoli wasn't good to me.

While I've visited other locations of this chain, this was my first stop here and I was most impressed with the interaction I had with the employees inside. A gentleman who certainly came across as the store manager engaged me in a very interesting conversation about how many different food options were available in this particular plaza. I could probably take an entire week and ONLY eat out at places that share this parking lot. Seriously, there's "healthy fast food," pizza by the slice, craft beer accompanied bar food, mexican cuisine, deli sandwiches at TWO spots and ridiculous donuts. Ironically, I hate the Publix here...but I've now visited five different food spots on this piece of land and would eat at any of them again. In addition, the Golfers Grail Indoor Golf & Tap allows you to bring in food from any of these places and the gentleman at Mr. Empanada said they'll gladly deliver your food directly to you while you hit golf balls and drink there. My empanadas were hot and delicious and the pastry was just perfect. And no argument with their pricing. The cost per empanada is roughly the same or a little less than you would pay for a feature item at most fast food spots. And it isn't like those places can offer you this unique item to satisfy a craving. There is more than just empanadas on the menu, as you can look for yourself and find salads and sandwiches. They also sell by the platter for catering or party purposes and I would imagine that goes over very well. (Perhaps I should do that the next time everybody comes over my place for Cards Against Humanity rather than just pizza and wings) I liked the product, the location and certainly the people who waited on me and only wish they were open past 8pm to deliver some of their product when I reserve an evening tee time at Golfers Grail.

The empanadas are all frozen so nothing is made fresh. I stopped there today and my empanadas were cold. I saw several Cuban sandwiches setting out pre made waiting to be pressed when ordered. I had an upset stomach after eating. From now on I'll go somewhere else to eat.

Mr. Empanadas has been in this location on N Orth Dale Mabry for many years. This little shopping plaza has always offered great food, but it is currently a mecca for eating & drinking, in the Carrollwood area. It is located just North of the Busch overpass on the East side of the road. This establishment not only serves killer empanadas, but also has terrific salads and sandwiches. Over the years, I have been quite pleased with all food products I have eaten here, but I am partial to the empanadas. They have the perfect flaky crust, not too doughy or dry, just the right density & amount of fillings. My personal favorites are the Italian sausage & cheese & the pizza, the rest are not far behind. All flavor combinations are super tasty with delightful seasoning. Over the years I have attended many events, that had this establishments delectable treats, both savory & sweet in their line up of catered appetizers, yes they also cater. I will continue to support them at this my favorite location, as well as their other locations. I love the service and timely & friendly staff. What's a girl to do? There is always a time that an empanadas hits the spot.

It's good kinda expensive. I don't go often for that reason. It's good but with all the Latin spots around I normally find one cheaper that's just as good.

It's really hard to drive by a Mr. Empanada without having my mouth water for their tasty empanadas. Whether you're in South Tampa in in Carrollwood, the food never disappoints. My husband is latino so I've had some fantastic empanadas, but these guys definitely know how to master their stuffed flaky pastries. The spinach artichoke and cheese is my favorite, however, it's not a traditional flavor. Guava and Cream Cheese is a close second for my taste buds. I always select a few of the beef and cheese for my family and they are always appreciative.

Great little fast-food stop tucked into a corner of the Publix shopping center on Dale Mabry at Linebaugh in Carrollwood. Mr. Empanada serves......wait for it, wait for it....... empanadas! OK, empanadas are best known as a little Latin delicacy which are formed by folding dough around a filling of meat, cheese, seafood, veggies, or fruit to create a sweet or savory fried pocket of absolute yumminess. Mr. Empanada serves the following types of empanadas: Ground Beef (picadillo) Ground Beef & Cheese Italian Sausage & Cheese Spinach, Artichoke & Cheese Crabmeat (Claw crabmeat -- none of that fake Krab stuff) BBQ Chicken Pizza Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese Guava & Cream Cheese Apple Philly Steak & Cheese In addition they make platters of mini empanadas (25 to a platter) which are perfect for tailgating or parties at home. They also have a wide variety of salads, soups, and even a Cuban sandwich. Highly recommended as a quick lunch stop, or a place to consider if you're having a party and want to serve something different.

Still can't beat qkenan empanadas in Orlando. But , the variety is better here. Food.is very greasy but still good. I tried the pizza and crabmeat which was good. Definitely a place to get your empanada fix on. The customer service was ok too.

I love the beef empanadas, I buy them by the dozen. They also have excellent fries! My daughter loves the apple empanadas, there great hot or cold.

If I'm in Tampa, I MUST stop by Mr. Empanadas. It doesn't matter if I'm sticking to my low-carb lifestyle or not, my guilty pleasure is hitting up one of their locations for fresh, hot empanadas. They would get 5 stars except, since they are franchised, this particular location on Dale Mabry doesn't have the same level of customer service as the one on Kennedy. The Kennedy location team are family and they just do a bang-up job making you feel like you're one of their members. They will give you extra hot sauce if you ask without giving you the side-eye and they just make things amazing. However, the consistency of the empanadas is just to die for. My favorite is beef & cheese, then chicken, broccoli & cheese. For dessert, you've gotta try the guava and cheese but the apple empanada will make your heart sing when they hop fresh out of the fryer. For two hungry, greedy people, expect to spend about $40 with enough for left-overs for late night munchies or in my case breakfast during my meeting the next day. I've been at least a dozen times in my travels, this is one of the first that I haven't smuggled a bag home on my way out.

A good fast food eatery. It can get pricey if you are not careful so don't go starving. If you like guava - the guava cream cheese dessert empanadas are a must have. The cuban sandwiches aren't bad either.
