Veryclean and bright but the food sucks and pastry was stale or was I the fridge too long, prices are exorbitant given what you get. $7 for a BLT and you do not get any side dish like chips or potato salad.

My husband and I had a date lunch last week and we chose Greek salads at Louis Pappas. This casual restaurant is located across the street from Sickles High School. You order at the counter, they give you a number and your food is brought out to you. We both ordered the small chopped salads, one with gyro meat and one with chicken. The small chopped salad is a very generous serving, including lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, radishes, olives, peppers, potato salad, one shrimp and anchovy (I may be missing something). I ordered my dressing on the side, which was perfect. We definitely enjoyed our lunch date:)

I would give it a zero if I could. I was treated terribly by the manager on duty on Sunday 8/30/15 at 1:30 pm. According to both the mix and match menu behind the counter and in the take out menu (both posted in check-in) you can "mix and match any two different items below." I tried to order a 1/2 gyro and 1/2 chicken souvlaki. The guy taking my order said he had to check with the manager. The manager told him no so he asked the manager to come over. I pointed out to the manager that according to both of their menus a person can choose any two items. He said that is not what it says so I showed him both menus. He then said its not what they are supposed to say. I mentioned that regardless of what it is supposed to say legally it is false advertising if you have something written down (on 2 different menus!) and do not honor it. The manager proceeded to tell me "I don't care what the menu says! I'm not going to give it to you!" I would have understood if he said I'm sorry it's a mistake or something along those lines but to yell at me a customer is completely unacceptable and I will not tolerate that. There are too many other restaurants I can spend my money at. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK! I will say that the guy who was taking my order apologized to me and said he agreed that the menu needs to be changed. Hopefully the owner will get rid of that manager or at the very least send him to a training on how to speak to paying customers.

The food is fantastic. It is very fresh and the flavor combinations are perfect. I will continue to come here. My favorite meal is the Turkey pesto sandwich

Between all of my favorite Greek restaurants and cafe's in Tampa Louis Pappas is my favorite when it comes to grabbing a quick lunch. The gyros and dolmades are my go-to items from the menu. If you live in South Odessa you know how frustrating it is to find a cafe with wifi. Louis Pappas is the only place outside of Westchase that has free wifi, and since so few people know that it has been my hidden gem.

Great food. I've been to other Louis Pappas, first time at this location, my experience has always been positive. Just ate a Gyro this time around, it tasted fresh and delicious. Pretty good portion size as well. The atmosphere is also very inviting.

I guess it depends on what you get. The greek salad for 9.99 chopped was great! Well worth the money and much better than Marcos or Little greek IMHO. On the other hand the turkey pesto was a total flop. Would never order that again.

I have been eating Pappas for the past 12 years usually twice a week. I even took my kids to Greece because they loved the food at Pappas. The past 2 years things have really gone bad there. A few months ago my daughter wrote a bad review- Katherine. Due to immature and rude managers we really saw some very bad service with many customers. The last few months things have started turning around. A manager Robert is mature and extremely kind and happy to be at work. Other workers seem happy as well. Just hope this lasts. The food is so awesome. I'm not sure I'm willing to go thru all that again.

Our family loves this place. The kids menu food is very good. I always get the pork sandwich and I sometimes crave it. The hummus is also great. My husband gets the gyro and it's one of his favorite places to get Greek food. We only had dessert once but it was fab.

I think this is the best lunch I've ever had. The staff was fine, but not exceptional. The place was pretty clean, but there were a few booths that were left unbussed for about 20 minutes- kind of yuck and unsightly. BUT THE CHOPPED GREEK SALAD. Fuuuuuh. It was everything a Greek salad should be, and more. I ordered some gyro meat on the side & I shredded it up and tossed it in my salad. Freaking YUM. I could go on and on. The potato salad on the bottom was fantastic. That's it. I'm getting one today. You should too! Mind. Blown.

The Pappas family name is known for great Greek food in the Tampa area, and this little market cafe delivers with yummy Greek salads, gyros, and other well-known favorites. The "small" chopped Greek salad is a delicious mound of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese, peppers, radishes, Greek olives and more on top of a scoop of potato salad. Simply genius! The gyro meat was perfectly charred and expertly seasoned.

Awesome! The atmosphere was nice and there was a steady flow of patrons coming and going. I had the small Greek Salad with a sidebof Gyro meat. I camnot say enough about the salad. It was fantastic! The potato salad was phenomenal! I would positively go back just for the salad! My friend had the Mojo Pork sandwich! Nice portion of meat and grilled to perfection. She had a side of potato salad as well. It was a good value for the money. I would highly recommend this like slice of heaven ifb u are in the area.

Very cute restaurant. The ambiance was nice and it felt authentic. The gyro was delicious. Go on Monday and you can get one for $5! The food tasted good and fresh. I thought it was a bit ridiculous that they charge you for an "extra" side of sauce though. Granted, it was only an additional $0.50, but there was less than a teaspoon of "extra" sauce in the container. The gyro wasn't overly huge, but adequate and tasty. The cannoli was okay. It didn't taste overly fresh, and more like it had been sitting in the deli case for some time. It was rather pricey too. I would still return though. There is a good menu with a variety of choices.

About once a month, my wife and I need to satisfy our Tzatziki cravings so we head to Louis Pappas Market Cafe. She'll usually get the Greek Salad chopped and a side dish of Mediterranean Spreads with Tzatziki and the pita chips. I've been known to move around a little bit on the choices but my favorite is an appetizer of Greek Meze (two spanakopitas, two dolmades, pita chips and hummus) and the gyro meat platter with the Greek Potatoes. Half if not most of the Greek Meze ends up going home for the next day's lunch. The Greek Potatoes are great if you like roasted potatoes with a little olive oil drizzled over the top. The spanakopita is decent. The dolmades are good this way, but are better if served with a little bit of a lemon sauce like they do with the side dishes. The Chopped Salad (remember small is enough for an entree, large enough for two meals) comes traditionally with potato salad underneath. There is a good portion of Gyro meat on the platter, served usually with raw onion, sliced tomatoes, and wonderful Tzatziki. All in all, good Greek home cooking and satisfying. I usually have to push the car seat back a notch on the way home. The place is pretty clean in appearance. Your meals are ordered in line and brought to you when ready. Drinks are usually soft drinks and iced tea and are unlimited.

Louis Pappas always has a friendly place serving up good greek food. Their extensive menu includes Salads, Flatbread, Sandwich, Wraps, Rice Bowls and etc. The ambiance is always calm and they always greet you with care and a smile. On the favorites, the Mojo Pork Sandwich should be a must try. The mojo-marinated pork is moist and flavor-filled. I prefer mine without the cheese to maximize the mojo flavor. My second favorite is Greek Rice Bowl with Gyro meat. This item with juicy Gyro meat and grilled onion, tomato, and peppers paired with feta and tzatziki, is a taste burst of flavor that keeps you wanting more. Try this with their grilled chicken if you are not a fan of Gyro meat. The Mousaka is another not-to-miss item with perfectly roasted eggplant with spiced (not hot) ground beef. Have one / two or mix & match. Overall, Louis Pappas Market is a must visit to judge for yourself. I can guarantee you will like their carefully prepared food.

I've been to this place twice, my experience today was highly unpleasant. I ordered a flatbread with feta spread and chicken. It was basically a glob of cheap mozzarella and overcooked chicken on a pita. It made me so sick and turns my stomach to think about eating it now. On top of that, the manager was scrounging around the place, cleaning tables and talking loudly on his personal cell phone. I had to move because he was so disturbing and he didn't even notice or apologize. There are also a bunch of teenagers working there who act like their social time is more important than asking you if you need anything when you walk to the counter. Will not return.

I'm not sure if the business recently got new management or what... But the service and food have gotten significantly better since my previous review. I decided to give this place one more try even though my latest visit (months prior) was absolutely terrible but boy am I glad I decided to stop in. This place is my mom and i's go to for lunch! Spanakopita and hummus trio are to die for! Thank you papas for stepping your game back up I will continue to return every week!

Yesterday my wife and I decided to stop here and grab a quick meal with my wife and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Started speaking with James who was taking our order and you can tell he is truly passionate about what he does. He suggested the Greek Salad and Gyro. He gave us the back story on the Greek Salad and how Louis himself is the reason we put potato salad in it! He wanted a hearty meal for his U.S. Soldiers in WWII so he added the potato salad to fill them up. It's great to know so much about a little known hometown hero. James' recommendation for the Greek salad and gyro were nothing short of perfection! He promised it would be enough for the two of us and he we right. I will definitely be back to this hidden gym in Citrus Park. Thank you James for a great experience and thank you Louis for your service and making sure our servicemen are well!

Save your money and get a decent greek salad at Hungry Greek, Little Greek or Greek City. Pappas' chicken is inedible and the servings are way too big- I can't eat a huge greek salad by myself and I definitely prefer something more than iceburg lettuce. Also pretty stingy on the feta which is the best part!!! Spanakopita was tasty but not heated all the way through. Nice restaurant and good service but they rely too much on the name, the food itself should be better and smaller portion size options should be offered. Also, overpiced for fast food greek concept..

  • Andrew E.

The menu and food here are superior to that of nearby similar restaurants, such as The Hungry Greek (on Race Track) or Greek City (in Westchase). However, the old guy who brings you your food out from the kitchen at lunchtime is also the bus boy. There's no way he's washing his hands between busing and serving every table. This place loses a star just because of that.

This is my first time here , and walking in I am impressed thus far. The Internet reviews say it's amazing I hope they are correct... Well after receiving my order to go and got home, I was not that impressed. The Greek salad was limp and lacked life as the dressing lacked charisma, the Gyro was manufactured and stereo typical and lacked taste. I was very disappointed.

This is the best Greek food outside of the Tarpon Area. The food is obviously outstanding with that intro. The place is clean and the service is friendly. I tend to go for the Gyro or the Chopped Greek Salad when stopping in for lunch. However their Dolmades and Spanikopita are top notch as well.

Ate here once. The Gyro was pretty good, although nothing too special. Definitely solid though. The greek salad was loaded with cheese, radishes, olives and piled to the ceiling. Very good, but didn't keep past an hour after the meal.

If you're looking for a quick, affordable meal in Citrus Park, give this place a try. This is THE best casual Greek restaurant in Tampa. And yes, I think I've tried them all. Their Greek salad here is phenomenal. I find myself frequently craving it. Get the chopped version and thank me later (they also offer a "traditional" with slightly diffferent ingredients). They have both a small and large. I have never seen the large, and I have never finished the small. This says a lot considering I'd probably have a good run as a competitive eater. You really don't need to add any meat onto the salad either (which will cost you some extra $$). Between the huge portion, scoop of potato salad, it is plenty satisfying even for a devout carnivore. I eat here a lot but I rarely stray from the salad. I have tried their amazing tzatziki that comes with FRIED pita bread. I also have tried and enjoyed their dolmades. And of course, they get a gold star for serving Coke products.

Tonight we took a break from the Cuban hunt and opted for sushi. As I was pulling into the parking lot I noticed Louis Pappas. Hummus trumps sushi every day of the week for me, so I pulled in here instead. We ordered appetizers. Flatbread, spanakopita, hummus (of course), and the soup of the day, oddly, chili. Staff was very friendly, atmosphere casual. You order at a counter and sit down, and they bring the food to your table. Problem was deciding what was yummiest! The hummus is going into my Best Hummus list. The pita chips were fried. I'd have preferred grilled. I'll ask next time. The spanakopita was delicious, and the tatziki was thick and creamy. The flatbread was a pretty decent pizza. I took pics of all the plates. The baklava was also yummy. Little Greek and Hungry Greek face very stiff competition in the Westchase area for your Greek dining dollars. I'm a fan!

Wanna impress your girl? Take her to lunch here. You'll both leave satisfied and feeling healthy! There's really nothing like this anywhere. The food is as fresh as it gets. The decor and atmosphere are as good as self-service cafe gets.. The place is spotless but I would not expect anything less with the Pappas family name on it. All the salads are made to order....I always get the Chopped salad and the rapid chopping sound from the kitchen is a welcome beat to hear from the dining room. This is a gem I often take people to who have never dined there before and they always remark what a great experience it was. .

Poorly done food. The entire theme is Greek. But the food is as greek as a hot dog covered in cheese wiz. Veggie pita - this is pretty much falafel. It wasn't bad, but did not have much flavor and was not as described on the menu. Small greek salad - no oregano or other flavor/seasoning to be found. It was a large bowl of shredded iceberg lettuce, topped with a couple of olives, a slice of feta, a slice of beet, some whole radishes, and chunk of tomato. "Do you want anchovies and shrimp with that?"... means "do you want one anchovy and one tiny shrimp perched on your bowl of iceberg?" Chicken Souvlaki - poorly prepared sliced baked chicken in a pita ... the only thing "souvlaki" about this was the pita and the paper wrapping. Throw in a kid sweeping at our feet while we ate, and this place chalks up a 1.5 stars.

Pleasant surprise for me considering I've never liked Greek cuisine before. I ordered the fish sandwich with potato salad on the side and every bite was a delicious experience. The fish was fresh tasting, lightly battered and crispy, and the garlic mayo was the perfect touch. The ciabatta bread was soft, and the potato salad had just the right amount of dill. I am looking forward to lunch here again!
