Still the best Hooter's in Tampa!! Always perfect and spot on. The staff is super friendly. I highly recommend!

Ever had that one dish at that one restaurant that just makes you feel better after a bad day? Original Style Honey Thai Chili Pepper wings with blue cheese at Hooters are inexplicably my feel good food. I don't even like breaded wings, I don't understand my obsession but they are so good and I love them! I usually get my order to go, nowadays I always order the same thing and that goes hand in hand with my 3 star rating. The service is OK. There always seem to be a lot of regulars and the servers are familiar with them. I much prefer the service here than at the Channelside Hooters. Service has been slow here and there but for the most part it's ok. They're really quick on the ToGo orders though! I've never had to wait very long and if I call ahead it's always ready no matter how busy. I've tried a lot of the items in the menu in the past. The food outside the wings is decent, nothing that really sticks out in my mind. The wings are pretty good...they're usually big and meaty. Once I felt like they had put too much dressing on the wings and it was just too soggy, I mentioned it to the server and she got me a new order no problem. The wings have never been broken up inside the batter (hate when that happens). The naked blackened wings are ok compared to other spots in the area...not my favorite but they're pretty flavorful. This hooters doesn't get as crowded as others even during games. It's pretty laid back and has a lot of local guests. Im sure I'll keep going to get ToGo Thai Chili wings regularly :).

Went here tonight after work to just chill and have a good time. It was not overly crowded, but had enough people present to still be a lively Friday night hangout. I've been here before and have enjoyed the scenery. There is indoor and outdoor seating, along with plenty of TVs if you are heading out to watch a game. During Rays baseball games, they offer $3.50 big daddy Budweiser beers. Mondays and Wednesdays have food deals. The staff is friendly and rather efficient. I have never had a bad experience with the service. Tonight, my friend and I asked to split the bill and the waitress was happy to do so. The food has always been served hot and as expected. I've had the boneless wings, curley fries, a few appetizers and the drinks. I recommend the Top Shelf Long Island. It costs $7.19 and packs a punch. I also enjoyed the 25 oz mug of Sangria for $5. They serve good craft beers (can't go wrong with a Jai Alai!). There is plenty of parking and there is open seating (just walk in and seat yourself). Overall this is a great place to enjoy good food, a fun crowd and even take the family.

Went on a college football Saturday afternoon. The food was absolutely horrifying. The naked crunchy wings came swimming in grease, not grease and medium hot sauce, just grease mixed with what? Maybe water? They also were not completely cooked. The tater tots again - grease and not done. The chicken salad we ordered without green peppers came, of course, with chopped green peppers. This was not a busy time but enough people here to actually have a staff that could cook. Server was super sweet though so I feel for her...

This location has better service than others that I have been to. The food is consistent and what you expect. The breaded wings are great, grease and all. The fried are a little soft though. I'm a fan of their homemade ranch, and worth the up charge.

after walking in and not hearing anything from the hostess or the waitresses I walked the bar to see no seats available. After standing around like an idiot for 5 min and not so much as a word from anyone I walked out... Guess why this place is only 1/4 full

PROS: LOVE the wings.... I recommend the thai chili CONS: I ordered the wings, she asked if I wanted fries, then asked what sauce I'd like for the fries and wings. I said ranch... ok, SHE CHARGED ME FOR RANCH AT A WING PLACE. Am I the only one that thinks that's strange? It'd be nice if she would have let me know it cost extra rather than acting like it was complimentary. And don't order the breaded 8 piece boneless.. They're nickel sized chicken bites. No thanks

This hooters while not known for culinary cuisine has gotten seriously worse lately. I think it's due to the self-impressed "GM" who could care less about the recent poor quality, and staffing of these overworked servers. I guess she thinks it's ok bc the uniforms changed and shorts shorter and tee shirts lower. Sorry not when it comes to food. To view prettier girls, go to the beach. Skip this hooters at all costs, especially with this arrogant GM who should still be opening doors as she has no clue about managing a restaurant, or customer service. But one can only wonder, she must be good at something...to be the GM...

The worst Hooters I have ever been too. One: our waitress looked a mess & kept messing up our order along with our check. She kept adding stuff we didn't order. We got frustrated and just paid for two items we didn't even ask for or get for that matter. Two: the food was overly greasy! I am used to the usual grease but this was over board that day. My sons chicken fingers had so much grease in it, I didn't even feed it to him and we went elsewhere. Will never go here again. Let alone recommend anyone to this location.

Caitie is the best waitress there. We were seated immediately and had our drink orders taken quickly. She answered any questions our group had. The wings were good as always and the drinks were normal (you can't really change soda). Caitie provided us with our checks when we were ready and did not rush us out, like some waitresses do to get more people through and without caring about the people. Long story short fantastic waitress, good food, great service, good times, and a good atmosphere (I mean c'mon it is Hooters).

Good food, sometimes pick up/ call ahead orders can take a while but that is to be expected in Tampa. Staff is nice and the wings are pretty good (basic). There are always locals smoking cigs outside which can get annoying when you are picking up an order. I like getting the pickle chips when I go there.

Can't believe I have to give this place a star to review it.. I visit this place annually when I'm in town because it is the only place open late and within walking distance to my hotel. I've never had a problem until this year. The waitress successfully made my family and I feel unwelcome. It was quite clear we were her last table. We asked for a smoothie and she told us her blender just broke. My joke about it was not well received. So we asked for a soft drink instead. When brought to her attention that the soft drink had black chunks floating in it, it was obvious that It was a huge inconvenience to her by her unapologetic attitude. We quickly paid cause feeling unwelcome isn't something we care to stick around for (that and the waitress told us she was going home). There's also something about every waitress and bartender walking past us with the death glare after our mishaps that doesn't sit well or make you wanna stick around. But before we left we realized she charged us for the drink with black junk in it. I know it's only $3 but in this economy and Christmas around the corner we brought it to the managers attention. The manager quickly informed us it would be more of a hassle to change it and offered pie instead. We thought that was a nice gesture but his own stare-down when it was dropped off was not necessary. As a family of past and current servers, we tipped over 20% but it definitely was not deserved. Next year, we probably will just grab McDonald's and a six pack from up the road.

Pretty good. About as much as you can expect from a hooters. I will say I went one evening after a 4 mi. Run and ordered the Caesar salad and It was amazing!!!! Chicken was a bit salty. I don't know if I was just starved but it hit the spot. :-)

Also known as the MacDill Hooters. Generally good service - but it does get packed from 11/1130 - with service members from the base (also another indicator that its good food, clean and pretty good service). At dinner time it is sparsely filled with regulars. The night I was there the bartender spent more time doing anything BUT bar tending. At the end of the day the wings with Three Mile Island and the drafts were still good. Would I go back? Of course - Hooters is my Wing place!

Hooters Hooters Hooters rocking everywhere rocking everywhere rock rocking everywhere.... lol Travis and I love Hooters wings and curly fries and Travis new found fav is there shrimp. I have ate Hooters wings before but never was really a fan but they have grown on me. There breaded wings hot with extra sauce is a A in my book. This Hooters is like a block from our place which is nice because the Hooters in Miami were bit of a drive. We come here and the girls are pretty friendly the whole staff is. There not as HOT as the ladies in Miami but I digress. They have a cool happy hr type thing sunday thru thursday and the set up is like any other Hooters.

I came in here to quickly grab some wings. Quickly did not happen. I'm loath to blame the server because the restaurant, while not crowded, was severely understaffed but some acknowledgement of my existence while waiting 15 minutes for my check would have been welcome.

It's July 5th and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who is hungover today. I decided that I wanted some fried food to nurse my aching soul back to normalcy and I remember eating something fried at Hooters one time in my youth...I think I remember their curly fries being tasty as well. I ordered the fried grouper sandwich with said curly fries - mistake. The grouper was so fishy I had to ask for an extra container of tartar sauce to drown it and three bites in I actually started gagging...literally gagging. It tasted how low tide at the pier smells. The fries were average at best and came with no salt...weird. My husband can't eat seeds of any kind and our server assured us that seeds only come on the burger buns. Guess what was on the bun of the grilled mahi sandwich he ordered. Stop trying to kill my family Hooters. Thanks.

  • Deondre B.

Fried pickles... I love them.... The wings are average and the drinks are good. It's called hooters so you will see underdressed women but I will say I don't get a disgusted feeling like I have at some other hooters. I will be back and the wait staff has always been nice and polite.

Food is ok and so is the service. Wish they had a better draft beer selection though!

So I've left the safety of Norfolk and Vah Beach and have made it all the way to Tampa. I figured why not celebrate the fact with trying out the nearby Hooters and see if it compares to my regular spot on General Booth. First off the place is very spacious. Plenty of room for you and your buds/lady friends. Second, while we all come to Hooters to experience the same thing, the menu has alot more to offer than just wings. I will try the wings on my next visit, whenever it may be. The service was alright, seeing how it seemed like the food and drinks should have come sooner, seeing how the place wasn't that busy. They have a good amount of beers on tap and the food is standard Hooters fare, however the menu had a bit more than what I was used to seeing at other Hooter locations. I will also agree with Steve that the selection of wing sauces was lacking. I noticed different Hooters serve different sauces and while I kind of like how the menus kind of make each place unique, they should at least have the same sauces. Overall, not bad and I wouldn't suggest not going.

What the heck Tampa? I'm sitting here watching my Hokies get their asses kicked and I can't even enjoy my Hooters leftover wings. What's up with the flavors here in Tampa? I can't get my Samurai Jack (Teriyaki) or Spicy Garlic? Honey Thai and Chipotle BBQ were all you offered instead? btw - chipotle bbq has no chipotle taste. The wings were pretty soggy when I picked em up - never had em that bad at any Hooters. The restaurant itself is huge and the girls are plentiful and seemingly friendly - I ordered carry out though.

Not a big fan of the food here. My 3 things from here: fried pickles, fried mozzarella (buffalo style), red sangria. Nothing spectacular average service, and average food at best.

  • Tracy G.

Not sure what has happened to their food but when I first moved to Florida I really liked Hooters. It has gone from great to below average. On my last visit I tried the fried pickles and bit into something hard...it was a chicken bone. :( The pickles were bland and the shirmp I had were medicore. Service was good and staff was friendly. I will give them one more chance and see if I feel the same. Maybe they were having an off day.

  • Jess C.

Maybe I was just there on an "off" day since it was packed for college football, and while I did appreciate the USF buttons they left on the table, and the willingness to show several games, the service was slow as a turtle and the food wasn't great. Drinks took approx 5 minutes to come- although I must give props for the WONDERFUL selection of draft beers, and my burger sliders weren't the hottest- and seemed smushed? My house salad was good, but cheesy to come with a closed plastic package of croutons- really? Am I at a fast food joint? All in all, I know not to expect much from hooters, but the one in Channelside blows this one out of the park.

  • M D.

The service was very slow. We went on a rainy day, and it seemed as though the rain slowed everyone down. They had the A/C blasting, so everyone was freezing coming in from the rain. Very slow to bring out our drink orders. The food was overpriced for the quality, I didn't even finish my salad. It seems that most of the people go for the "experience" of Hooters, and I for one won't be returning.

  • Irma V.

First of all let me start by saying I have never been so embarrassed than I was when I went to this hooters!! When I usually buy something to eat from here I usually order takeout and ALWAYS wings so this time me and my friend decided to go inside and checkout what else they had , when we went in my friend noticed some of our friends so we went over to sit with them, after her friends ordered food and ate their food ( keeping in mind me and my friend I came with didn't order anything) the other 2 friends decided to go out for a smoke before they paid. They were outside quite a long time so we went to go check out what was taking so long? It turned out that they dined and dashed... I was appalled do we went after them. The next day we returned to the hooters and explained to the manager in PRIVATE what they have done and I wanted to offer and pay for their food but the manager insisted it was ok and no big deal. I felt horrible but she still insisted for us not to pay so that evening we returned with a group of friends this time to eat there and let me tell you I was in shock and outraged !!!!! The second I walked in I heard all the girls whispering among themselves and when I say down and our waitress came over she had the audacity to point to me and say " hey your the girl who dined and dashed, I'm keeping my eye on you so you don't screw me over" I was so embarrassed and in shock. First of all how did she know it was me the only person I talked to was the manager so that means she blabbed to her crew and told what was suppose to be private to her staff . I just got up and walked out I was so embarrassed for something I didn't even do. This is the WORST hooters I have ever been to I don't recommend it to anyone.

You know what you are getting at Hooters, young chicks with bad service serving the same food you get at every store. We went for lunch and had the burgers. I can't recall every having a burger there, but this one was excellent. It was very good. Service is hit or miss at Hooters, there was nothing impressive about our service here. Just the burger.

I'll keep this short and quick. Went here because we had a soccer tournament (back in my high school days) in Tampa for my travel team. Walked in and immediately i was in heaven, not b/c i was an young nubile 18 year old, but because i could discern who was hot and who was not in a hooters and at least when i went every waitress in here made me drool and you know not be able to stand up! lol. I always liked hooters food to, wings and fries and well at that point i couldn't drink brews but now that i am of age, yea brews. come on its hooters don't judge it to much!

We have used them a few times recently for take out - specifically to bring large amounts of chicken wings to pot luck style parties because I am too lazy to cook! Let me tell you, the Hooters wings will always be the hit of the party. Honestly, I don't usually go for wings myself but I find myself really digging in to these. The take out is also quick and reasonable priced for what you get. It's definitely not health food, but worth the splurge from time to time.

Placed a Togo order and they forgot the buffalo sauce and blue cheese for my meal took very long and the tall cook was flirting w waitresses most of time

A solid 3 stars for food. I would give 4 stars for our service, provided by Catie. We were a party of 5 (4 adults and 1 child) and seated immediately on a Friday night at 615. We started off with 20 of the buffalo shrimp with three mile high hotness. Yum! If you like it hot....go for it! I enjoyed the varying degrees of hotness as I made my way through the dish. For my entree, I got the snow crab (14.99). My first impression was I thought the legs looked a little on the small side. They tasted just as expected, good not great. Still, I was a little disappointed in the size. The other members of my dining party got buffalo chicken sandwich, boneless wings (2 orders) and a hotdog. The kids menu has a nice selection and the food comes out on a frisbee the kids can take home. As for dessert, everyone seemed to enjoy their selection (I didn't try any). Overall we had a very enjoyable experience. I have been to other locations in and outside of Tampa_and don't believe this is one of their stronger locations. It's unfortunate, because they have the potential to kill it at this store. Regarding previous posts_ 1) I have never heard this hooters referred to as the Macdill location. As a Tampa native, it is the Gandy location or the one in South Tampa. 2) I agree with other Yelpers. The store "manager" is less than desirable. I never once saw him approach a table, including my own, to ask about a patrons experience or even run food. I think it is always important to follow up with customers as there is always room for improvement_no matter how good.

Had an early dinner here with my wife yesterday. Our server was very good and super attentive. The reason I give a single star in this case, however, is because the food was absolutely terrible. Neither of us finished our meals. I had the wings, normally my staple order at Hooters. The wings were off. This morning, I woke up sick and have been sick all day. My doctor told me my symptoms were indicative of food poisoning. Hooters was the only place I ate yesterday. I feel bad posting this experience, especially because the service was very good, but I will never eat here again out of fear.

The worst Hooters I have been to. Bad service and terrible food. Fries we're undercooked and fish tacos the wraps were hard and stale..Sam Adams Beer was also old or stale. Changed to another beer and was fine. Will not be back.
