Went to this restaurant this past Saturday for a friend's birthday. Always wanted to try this place, but hadn't made it in yet. We had a pretty big group, at about 15. The service level was first-rate, the drinks (mint ginger vodka) was off the chain, and the food was epic. Espresso Prime Strip was excellent. Thick, tender, juicy and with a ridiculous flavor. Straight Bacon - best bacon I've ever had, ever. And I work for a meat company and have sold bacon before. I ended up ordering two of these. Our server, I think his name was Rich, was awesome. Funny, intelligent, genuine, and very accommodating. Will definitely be coming back here often.

AMAZING. We went there for a little bachelorette dinner before the party. The chef prepared this specific dessert for the bride. Aside from the staff being amazing the food was fantastic. We all order some form of steaks. I don't remember specifically which ones everyone got but I got the filet and u barely needs a knife to cut into it. I will definitely be back again

Great service, great food, never have a problem getting a seat at lunch time. Have taken clients there many times. I will continue to do so.

Love love Grille One Sixteen! I am thrilled that this location remained open after its sister location in Carrollwood decided to close its doors. I have been here to dine several times and all experiences have been fantastic. My last dining experience was in June of this year to celebrate my birthday with about fifty of my closest friends. We were able to secure the private room and celebrate in style. Grille One Sixteen's event coordinator was easy to deal with and was a frequent communicator with updates. Douglas and one other gentleman were our servers that night. Service was top notch and the food was very delicious. I know I was definitely well taken care of on my birthday, well, from what I remember... They serve a variety of crafted cocktails here. I usually order the Watermelon Martini and then get some Lychee Love! Bottles of wine and sparkling are also reasonably priced here. I have had several appetizers during the course of my experiences here. A couple of my favorites are the Tuna Tar Tar and the Nueske Bacon...that's a no brainer! My usual entree is the bone-in ribeye because well...I love meat. I will then normally add the lobster tails or the scallops and have a little surf and turf! The lobster is delicious but I really enjoy the pan seared diver scallops here. Also, if you want more, definitely order the sautéed mushrooms...yum! And finally...desserts. No questions asked, do yourself a favor and order the Homemade Donuts with the Caramel, Raspberry, and Chocolate sauces. TO DIE FOR! Ask for Douglas, he is best server at Grille One Sixteen. His food and drink knowledge will only enhance your experience here.

Great food, great service and sexy atmosphere! Our server was very accommodating of my dietary restrictions and my drink was always topped off. I had ahi tuna salad and was good. My husband had the burger and he said it was as good as Capital Grille's signature burger. Which says a lot that is his favorite. I'll definitely be back!

Yes...the steaks are wet aged and done perfectly every time. Yes...the walkerswood shrimp are amazing and the size of a grown man's thumb. Skip them! Meatloaf is the best I've had homemade or otherwise and the pork chop is truly one of a kind.

The feel of the restaurant is chic but the music was loud, dark & have the restaurant a club feel. It was a little difficult to speak over the music at dinner. Our server was very knowledgable about the menu & had wonderful recommendation & not just pointing to the most expensive item on the menu (I absolutely hate when servers do that, it's so evident). The martinis we had where all well balanced & yum. Started with the pretzel bread with the four cheese sauce, it was freshly baked & delicious!! We had their hormone free, in house cut steaks & we were impressed by both our choices. The Gorgonzola & balsamic reduction combo was absolutely yum. I also got the four Mac which was delicious but used the same sauce as the pretzel 4 cheese sauce & I was hoping for a new flavor than the appetizer. I will be back to try their seafood.

I can honestly say that I've never had a more enjoyable experience in Tampa than when I dined here with my wife this weekend. From the hostess stand to the table, everything was spot on. Even our valet experience was enjoyable. We were greeted promptly at the table by our server. He explained the concept and the cuisine very nicely. My wife had multiple questions on the seafood and the server, so delicately, described each dish from where the fish was sourced and the prepared composition on each plate. She had the seabass and said it was the best she's had in Tampa. It was cooked appropriately and tasted like butter. It paired excellently with the spinach and crab (chef recommended). I'm a steak guy, and I had the prime cut NY strip, cooked medium. The server explained the meat perfectly, citing that their meat was wet aged and would have more of a red color than other steaks I've had in the area. Being that I was used to dry aged cuts, having dined a lot of the local steakhouses frequently, he communicated it exceptionally and I was thoroughly impressed with the flavor and texture of the cut. We let the server pair each of our entrees with different wines, being that I had steak and my wife had seabass. He was spot on with the pairings and even explained why he chose each wine. After all of that, we decided to have their house made doughnuts. Wow, they were delicious! Both of the managers came by when dessert hit the table to formally introduce themselves to us. They said that the server told them it was our first time dining there, and they wanted to make sure everything met our standards. It surely did! Not only was everything delicious with taste, but our waters were always filled, our entrees hit immediately following our salad course, and the server was excellent. You could tell that the restaurant is ran by professionals who care about what they're doing. My wife and I highly recommend this establishment and we can not wait to return - what an experience!

Still as good as first time. Customer services are also great from the time We came in the door to the end. The manager, named Eric, really make you feel welcome and he often checked up to make sure that we are satisfied with services and food. Great dinner again.

Four stars for the service and satisfying meal. We came here for a company party and I was a little skeptical walking in because of the small size of the private room. I was pleasantly surprised at the attention we received from the staff. We were not stuffed in a room and forgot...our drinks stayed full and the appetizer buffet that they set up for us stayed stocked. Rather than review one thing from the appetizers I will say this...every thing we tried was good. I had the filet for my entree and found it cooked perfectly. The steaks can not compete with the steakhouses of Tampa but it was satisfying. For desert we had donuts. They were good but I was expecting something a little more melt in your mouth. Don't get me wrong, they were a sweet indulgence but they were resistible. The atmosphere was a little too modern and cold for my taste and very ill lit. It wasn't very comfortable and probably not somewhere I would think of when looking for a place to eat. It was almost like eating in a night club.

We went for Valentines dinner last night and the food was superb! We had the Nueske bacon and the Basket of Fries for an appetizer. The fries were delicious, with blue cheese and a balsamic reduction. We took most of those home as the basket was huge! The bacon was delicious! Crisp, salty, and sweet! For dinner I had the Shrimp Pasta and he had the Ribeye. Both of us finished our meals! My shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Since it was Valentine's Day, they offered a complimentary dessert, chocolate lava cake. I'm not a chocolate person, so one bite was enough for me, but my guy certainly enjoyed it! Make reservations!

I've been to several restaurants in Tampa and I must admit this place deserves 5 stars. I've been to places where you make a reservation and still wait an hour to be seated? What's the point of the reservation? The staff is always attentive, not too over bearing, and generally care about your experience. Recently I had my friend set up his proposal there and they were so accommodating. From the dinner, to the proposal, to the toast; service was exceptional. Not to mention the place is sexy, casual attire, and reasonable prices. You can't go wrong dining here. Steve N Lucy

I was in Tampa for work and decided to try it out on a friend's recommendation. Boy, was I blown away. Every phase of the meal was fantastic, from the pre-dinner cocktails to the freshly-fried doughnuts for dessert, and our waiter was fun and knowledgeable about the menu. We started the evening off with a couple of their handcrafted cocktails-the tequila thyme lemonade was refreshing and herbaceous, and I was pleasantly surprised by the maple old fashioned (especially because I don't like bourbon to begin with). We paired them with the seared ahi tuna and the warm pretzel loaf, which both had a great savory flavor. My entree took me back to my time in Chile--I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and it was to die for. The fish was beautifully pan-seared with a nice buttery flesh and delicious grilled squash. And we had a really nice Malbec from Mendoza that carried us to the end of the meal. All in all, it was a breathtaking taste experience. I would definitely return when I next find myself in Tampa.

I came here with a group of people. I like the decor. It was very modern setup. Most of the people here are dressed well. I must warn you if this is your first time coming here. You might find it hard to find the entrance. The front door is camouflaged with the wall. The only way you know there's a door is the signs pointing to it. We ordered the champaign toast and it was great. For appetizers, we tried the Ceviche, basket of fries, and calamari. I ordered Salmon Tartar and it was made perfectly. For my main entree I decided to go with Grouper. That fish tasted like it was still alive before it was cooked--it was that fresh!

I really enjoyed my experience here. The server knew what he was doing and suggested additional toppings and preparations for each of us. I believe his name was Doug and I will look for him to be our server again when I return here. My drinks and food were perfectly prepared. The bacon app and donut dessert are MUST orders. Delicious! I had so much food that I ended up taking more than half home and having it for lunch the next day!

What can I say. We go all over Tampa and dine at the best places. You just cant beat the ambiance, quality, prices here. Anyone who says it's pricey does not really dine out! The place simply rocks. Real cool south beach vibe. Food tastes great. The steaks include salad Nd sides for $40!!! Nice bottle of wine for $40 too. Go and enjoy. You will love love. Free valet parking too! Screw carrabba's next door.

My husband was sweet enough to bring me here for the first time for our 2nd anniversary dinner. We were greeted by the hostess who was super sweet, acknowledging our special day, and who was chatty as she took us to a quiet table away from larger parties. Our server, Rich, was very friendly as he explained the menu and specials to us. He had a favorite in each category he'd recommend and also acknowledged our special day. It really meant a lot that they did that! Drinks: We started our with a cocktail each. For Cinco De Mayo my husband tried their Diablo drink special that was some mix of ginger beer, tequila, habanero pepper, and fresh lime juice. I'm never one for spicy drinks or usually tequila and it was delish! I had their Watermelon martini made from fresh water melon juice and was pleasantly delighted - light and refreshing without being oversweet from any added sugar. Food: We tried the Kobe sliders, one each as you can get them singularly, and they melted in our mouths. For dinner my husband had their Snapper special that came with Sweet potato mash and grilled brocollini. He also got a side salad to start. I had their Salmond salad and it was not only a generous portion of salad but the dressing - balsamic and feta - was awesome. The salmon was cooked perfectly and it was such a nice balanced meal. Dessert: We cheated and tried their donuts. One each: raspberry, chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel. OMG. My favorites were the raspberry and caramel - there was even homemade whipped cream that accompanied them. I've already started recommending this place to people today - one day later. Not only was the service awesome but the food was well worth the drive there - we will be back!

I took my wife here for her birthday and we met her cousins for a celebration dinner. We both were quite surprised at how dark it was and asked ourselves "how we'd ever be able to read the menus"?. To our surprise they lit up when you picked them up, it was the coolest thing we'd ever seen. This place was fantastic and worth every penny that we spent. The food and service were excellent, the ambiance was perfect for the occasion and I'd go back here again. I checked this place out of the web and looked quite nice inside, but to see it in person makes it that much better of a place to go to. I can't wait till we go back and take another bite of that excellent kobe steak that I had.

We went to dinner with a few other couples at Grille One Sixteen and while it has some pros, we wouldn't return. The hostesses were quite nice - the entry area is quite small (one chair) so not a good place to wait for the rest of your party. I guess they don't typically have too many people waiting for tables. The ambiance was very nice - I'm still learning to appreciate that Florida restaurants may be located in a strip mall or on a busy highway and still be lovely inside! The light-up menus were trendy and fun and were genius - with the dim lighting, I can't even tell you how many time I've seen the older folks holding out flashlights and/or cell phones in order to read the menu. Great idea! But the menus were EXTREMELY large and difficult to maneuver without knocking into things/the person sitting next to you. I started with the gin, cranberry, and cilantro cocktail. It was mediocre at best. There was no flavor of cilantro or gin - it tasted like a super sweet cosmopolitan. My husband's red sangria was very good. We had the soft pretzel and cheese dip for starters..it was OK, but the cheese dip was gritty. Not our favorite, but one friend who tried it loved it so maybe others think it's great. The starter Caesar salad wasn't great, but the house salad looked fantastic. Definitely recommend house over Caesar. We had the ahi tuna salad and Kona steak + scallops for entrees. The salad was OK, but nothing spectacular. The steak left something to be desired, especially after reading all the rave Yelp reviews. The flavor was good but nothing I couldn't make at home. It was cut into strips before cooked and it was too well done for our liking. The grilled pineapple was a ncie touch, but the bok choy was so undercooked most of it was inedible. We got 2 scallops for $12. It was like highway robbery! The scallops were tasty, but certainly not worth $6 each as an add-on. And they looked a bit small to be U10. One friend had to send back her steak bites because they were extremely undercooked. We did get to try my friend's ribs and they were excellent - the best thing we ate all night. The service was good, but our server was a bit cocky. And don't expect to be able to hear your dining partners if you are in a decent-sized group. The bar patrons were insanely loud - slimy old men picking up better-looking younger women. Yelling, cheering, shots and all. It was like back in my college days but in a classier and more expensive establishment. $120 for dinner for 2. Not our cup of tea, but maybe it's yours?

I made a reservation weeks in advance for a fairly early dinner time on Valentine's Day and looked forward to finally checking out this place after several people gave it a resounding thumbs up. First off, from the valet parking to being seated immediately followed by prompt & courteous service, I think this place was top notch and the decor was modern and hip. We started off with the tuna tartar on crispy wonton wrappers... hard to go wrong with this except its all in the sauce. We had the tempura lobster tail and ribeye steak and neither were overly impressive. I thought the lobster tail was ok, but again, had to dip it in the sauce. Being a big fan of Mac & Cheese, I was looking forward to the side and it came out looking real good only to be rather tasteless. I asked for Tobasco sauce with some spice in it, it was a lot better. I tried the ribeye steak and for what is usually very flavorful, I found it bland and way too fatty. I ended up dipping the steak in the sauce meant for lobster tails and it was passable. I think because of the holiday, there was a complimentary chocolate souffle and it was the highlight of the meal. It was soft, warm, tasty and not overly heavy. I wanted to try their donuts I've heard about so many times but didn't see it on the menu and we had to go catch a show. Overall the ambiance was good but the food (at least the dishes I tried) were not up to par...

Grille 116 all around was a great experience. The food was delicious and the donuts are as delicious as every one had said they were. The only issue I had was the service. We were a birthday party of 16-18 and we could not get a refill on water. I asked several times and a friend ordered a drink and a glass of water. The waiter returned with the drink but no water. She ordered a 2nd drink and received the drink but still no water. When it was time to pay the check I was bypassed by two different waiters at least 3 times a piece before my card was finally taken. Overall I would go there again if only just for the amazing donuts.

My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary, and it was AMAZING! I got a juicy filet (I would recommend the French fries with it) and the watermelon martini. Delicious! My boyfriend got the ahi tuna as a starter and it was very expensive and not enough food. The service was great and it was a really fun atmosphere! Definitely more on the expensive side though. Two steaks, two drinks, and an appetizer was around $130.00 Also: they tend to undercook the steak compared to other restaraunts. So if you normally get medium, get medium wells

I was not enamored with Grille 116-yes, it's swanky and almost feels like it belongs in Vegas, but I thought it was overpriced for what it was. We spent $150, and only one of us had a glass of wine. I ordered an appetizer as my entree and my husband's steak was so small that it fit in a ramekin. Pretty lame. My brother's steak was interesting and my sis in law had a Ceasar salad. We all thought it was just ok. Our server was not very good. She was rushing us, had the table order out entree even though we were still waiting on one person in our party. She was not very knowledgeable about the menu and seemed uninterested that we were there. I don't think I'd go back....

This is one of the toughest reviews I've ever written. 4 stars for sure, even 4 and half. Maybe 5? When will Yelp give us half star rating capability? WHEN? Anyway on to it. An incredibly classy place for lunch, this place would be perfect for dinner but lunch it was. The burgers were recommended as being good and reasonable. They had a full selection of burgers but the bargain is the Build-Your-Own. $6.50 gets you a darn good burger with fixin's and fries or slaw. Cheese will cost you a buck. What came out was a perfectly cooked to order (pink in the middle) really good sized patty on a very nice bun. The fries were hot crispy good. The burger was outstanding! Great flavor, juicy, a great value for the price. My burger with fries and a soda cost me $8.00. That's cheaper than Five Guys and worlds better. A real classy place for lunch instead of fast food places for just about the same money, a great bargain and value. Serviceable was impeccable earning a spot on my Wait Staff All Star List. Aw , what the heck give it the fifth star. Good Eats!

My first experience was dining with a very large party and I was afraid that the service would be lacking.... I was wrong. Everything from the perfectly made dirty martinis to my grouper picate was right on point. I have to say that the grilled zucchini and squash were among some of the best veggies I've ever had!

I order a steak medium well, they served burn I ask to be change to mw they Tooke back to the kitchen and broad back to me and I was told that is the way medium well is. I said them I don't wanted, 2 minutes later the general manager Eric Bialik came to the table and push again for me to have the steak even went far to said if I want I can take home, I refused and advised to take the steak out of the table. Never I have been treated the way this GM treat me .sorry Eric but again you sure not be working in such nice restaurant. And no I wont be back to your restaurant.

My parents were flying in from NY to go to dinner with my fiancé, myself and some friends. I made a reservation well in advance. The hostess called me three days before Valentine's Day saying they overbooked and couldn't accommodate us. When I told her there was no way I'd be able to find a reservation at another restaurant on such short notice she didn't even offer an apology, she just said there was nothing they could do. Bummer since we were looking forward to eating there but probably never will.

Grille 116 has become our Tampa favorite! The atmosphere is upscale metropolitan and regardless of how many times we've visited the interior always impresses. The dress is as easy or hard as you make it, but always appropriate with even a slight effort. Request or wait for a booth for a cozy & intimate experience in an always "buzzing" restaurant. We've been lucky enough to have Casey as a waiter on our last few visits and he's fantastic. We pretty much just ask Casey what we need to try that particular night and his flavor descriptions of the dishes allow us to choose some special that never disappoints. The Nueske Bacon is just fun, delicious, and a must have. Ceviche is wonderfully clean with just the right amount of kick. Considering getting 2 orders next time for my meal! The Sea Bass is over the moon, as are the scallops. Hubby adores the NY strip and have to say it's pretty darn flavorful even though it's not something I'd typically order. The donuts for dessert are just a given to be comforting. The GM, Eric, has always made a point to stop at our table and make a geniune effort to go far above and beyond our expectations. He recently obliged me to sneak some champagne & famous 116 donuts to our table before Casey had a chance to let our friends deny dessert (by asking if anyone had room, haha). Grille 116 is lucky to have a GM that knows how to entertain and ensure guest satisfaction. G116 is a must. Perfect date night, girls night, friends/couples night, and perfect any night. Casey, Eric, and the food will keep us coming back to explore every bit of the menu for a very long time.

This nondescript building is hiding one of the best dining experiences. And if you're not looking for this place, it's very easy to miss it... but once you come here, you'll start asking yourself when the next time you'll be able to come back. This trendy place has awesome food, awesome drinks, and awesome service. It absolutely has the "WOW" factor. The ambiance of this place will make you think you're not in Tampa anymore, but rather an upscale and trendy place in Manhattan. I came here with a group of friends so we mainly came here to drink and just munch on some appetizers. I got a couple perfectly made Old Fashioned cocktails. We ordered a basket of perfectly cooked and seasoned fries. I don't recall anyone even using ketchup. They were that good. I ordered some of the Kobe Sliders and they were absolutely the best sliders I've had in a long time. They were simply prepared, but so juicy and full of flavor. We happened to go on National Doughnut Day, so we got complimentary doughnuts... but these were not your average doughnuts. A plate of 4 perfectly cooked doughnuts each prepared differently -- strawberry glazed, chocolate glazed, traditional glazed, and powdered sugar. As a group, we didn't eat much, but it was enough to leave a lasting impression. This place is perfect for any occasion whether it's date-night or just a night out with some friends. Either way, I'll definitely be back and I'll definitely be trying other food off the menu.

With so many choices for fine dining in Tampa, it is rare to find that perfect balance of incredible atmosphere, phenomenal food and stellar service but Grill One Sixteen has mastered all of the above. Ask for Rich for your server and you will be will taken care of. The steaks can easily compete with those at Berns or Council Oak, presentation is impeccable. Plenty of options for the seafood lover as well (try the scallops). But don't forget to try the homemade donuts for dessert you will not regret it!

We've been here twice now. Once for fun and once on valentine's day. Their calamari and fish was great and dessert was amazing. The fried donuts as well as this chocolate ball filled with raspberry sorbet or something. It's a posh spot with actual mixology drinks.

Apparently being able to make doughnuts for dinner (average ones at that) is enough to get you high praise in this city. I don't know what all these reviewers are going on about, maybe some of them are self posts or something. I had an awful experience here and I strongly recommend that everyone stops buying into the hype that this place has somehow falsely accrued. I really should have known better than to come here on a Sunday night, especially as late as 9:45pm. Being accustomed to NY standard and its emphasis placed on service and fine dining, I forgot to remind myself that I was no longer in the city, but rather the farmland that is Tampa. (Sorry Tampa peeps, but have you seen yourselves at the mall?) If a restaurant closes at 10pm, they really shouldn't take a reservation past 9pm or maybe 9:15pm. I don't know why Open Table allowed us to make 9:45 reservations and a little more surprised that we weren't contacted by the restaurant to let us know how close we were cutting it to their closing. Actually they did-- as my friend and I were walking in the hostess thought it would be funny to let out a huge sigh of relief and say "finally!" since we were a few minutes late. She added that everyone had been waiting for us and that she had just spent the last few minutes saying "oh please please hurry up and get here." Professional and polite, off to a great start. After being seated by our totally apathetic, straight-faced monotone waitress who will from hereon be referred to as Slagathor, I was a little impressed that the menus lit up. It was cool, for a few seconds, in the end it's a gimmick the way a children's yo-yo lights up. If the rest of this place was as futuristic as the menu, we wouldn't have had a problem, but that night, it was just out of place; I didn't find it entertaining at all. In the reservation that I made via Open Table, I made sure to mention that I wanted the staff to do something extra for my friend's birthday. Some sort of surprise, a special cake, a couple of candles in her dessert, anything with a little extra attention would have been greatly appreciated. The hostess came over later when my friend stepped out to make a call and let me know that they would definitely take care of us. I felt a little relaxed finally. From this point on though it was nothing but a comedy of errors, and in the end, they completely forgot to do anything at all. No one said anything, no special gesture was made, not even some chocolate syrup scrawling a Happy Birthday on her dessert plate. Pathetic. Slagathor brought out salads for our appetizers that were clearly old and dingy. The lettuce leaves had begun to brown, but it was obvious that an attempt had been made to hide the brown lettuce under the not-so-brown ones. Since these were just side salads, I ignored it, but later one of the entrees which was also a salad came out the same way. I was pretty annoyed and that's just a really poor move on the chef's part. Maybe normally he can get away with a sleezeball move like that and with the degree of effort that had been put into hiding the large portion of browning lettuce in the entree, I wondered wouldn't it have been easier for him to just let us know that they didn't have fresh lettuce and ask us to order something else. Instead he went with the shady two-bit operation move and was caught. I let Slag know, who was pretty unphased by it (haha SURPRISE! right???). We ordered some sliders in place of the salad since they seemed simple enough, although we really had no appetites at this point. I had ordered the salmon which was okay, but forgettable, and also I can't give them much credit for making a salmon, it's sort of the easiest fish to cook. When done right, the food was just average at best, on par with most 3-star restaurants. For dessert we had the donuts and again, there was nothing really impressive here. Regular donuts are better, Krispy Kreme donuts are even better. There was just nothing to be awe-struck about. I think people love the novelty of the idea of having 4 fat donuts for dessert at a nice dinner (and I'm using the phrase "nice dinner" very loosely here) along with a few different dipping sauces. Variety is the spice of life after all. Grille One Sixteen-- maybe on a Friday night when all of your workers bring their A-game, probably between the hours of 6-9pm, you probably do an OK job of being a solid 3-star restaurant with a good vibe and lively crowd in a spiffy little atmosphere/environment. Unfortunately for you, those select moments are so few and far between, that you have truly earned yourself this 1-star review. Thanks for wasting my time and money, I will not go back and would certainly not recommend you to others. .

Awesome place..calamari was the best I ever had. Steak was flavorful and tender. Michael C was our server and he was AWESOME. Very knowledgeable of the menu and eager to assist. Had a great experience on our 3 year anniversary.

Wow, wow, wow! Wow atmosphere, wow service, wow food and drinks! I was wowed by Grille One Sixteen! Grille One Sixteen looks like a modern piece of artwork from the outside... I could barely find the door! Inside the restaurant has a delicious oaky firewood smell and is decorated in clean simple tables and cozy modern booths. Our waiter was so friendly and knowledgable. He recommended the mojito from the fresh squeezed cocktail list. The recommendation was terrific and the mojito was one of the best I have had. We also ordered a basil champagne collins which was also delicious and unique. The food, oh my goodness the food! So delicious... There was not a single dish that was less than perfection. The ahi tuna was perfectly seared and was of great quality. The tuna cut like butter with a fork (not a single chewy piece from the tail end, props to the seafood purchaser). The steak was cooked on the firewood grill and had a delicious smokey, oaky flavor. The French fries were perfectly seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was cheesy and delicious. The crust was dusted with a dusting of breadcrumbs. Once I broke through the top layer the rich and tangy mixture of creamy cheeses made this one of the best macaronis I have had. We didn't have room for dessert, but we will be back to try the homemade donuts. The prices were a tad on the high side so Grille One Sixteen will be reserved for special occasions.

Grille 116 is an absolute gem in South Tampa! I live in the area and first came in to meet an out-of-town friend for happy hour. The handcrafted drinks, with their fresh squeezed juices, are amazing! I used to be the girl who would order simple drinks - but Grille's cocktails are so deliciously crafted that I've found myself trying out things I would've never even known I'd like; who would've guessed I'd love Gin! Although we didn't have dinner on that very first visit, I HAD indulged in an order of grouper sliders, that just melted in my mouth! The grouper was so fresh and perfectly prepared - just the right amount for us to both enjoy at Happy Hour. After less than a week of dreaming of those sliders ... I returned again, but with my family! (This has quickly become my go-to spot for entertaining and impressing my visitors!) The General Manager, Eric, was beyond incredible! I called ahead to set up a reservation and to find out if the dining area was ADA-accessible (especially on a busy Saturday night) to accommodate our entire party. This is incredibly important to me, as my mother is wheelchair-bound and has vision impairment. The GM not only assured us that our experience level would not be compromised; he took the initiative to reserve a table nearest the entrance that required no struggle or hassle to reach with the wheelchair! You wouldn't believe how rare that is!! For anyone with an ambulatory disability, this is HUGE! We were treated like royalty! (I've been to other restaurants in this area before where the GM has actually recommended we PICK UP the wheelchair through the door, to compensate for their lack of ramps in an unwelcoming restaurant! Grille was NOT this way!) For that dinner, we shared the bacon appetizer - which puts my store-bought breakfast bacon to shame! My dad had the KOBE beef sliders and didn't leave a crumb on the plate. My mom tried the Tempura Fried Lobster Tails - and vowed to visit me more often ;-) haha! And I had the Chilean Sea Bass with the mango relish! Everything was delicious! We couldn't leave without trying the donuts and they did not disappoint!! Yum! I've been to Grille countless times since and have a wonderful experience each and every time! I finally had to write a review because those first few experiences were so enjoyable, that I've since been for many occasions like girls' night out, work dinners, family and friends' visits! It is only right that I let everyone else know how much I enjoy Grille 116! The service is predictably great; the atmosphere is always chic yet comfortable; and the food consistently impresses!!

An amazing experience! From the service to the food. I was so completely satisfied. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt welcome and catered to. The GM (Eric) greeted me, and extended every courtesy, the waiter asked if I needed anything before I even looked at the menu. They made my favorite drink, even though it was not on their drink menu. The menu was such a pleasant surprise! All items were selections I would actually want to have. Simple, direct and enjoyable. Prepared flawlessly and absolutely delicious. The decor was beautiful, different and yet very comfortable Reminded me of old school, high class venues in New York or LA.. On a previous visit, I had the Nueske Bacon (YES Bacon) as an appetizer, it was amazing! Properly prepared, gracefully presented and flavorful, not greasy, under-cooked, nor over-cooked, but ideally done. This time I (we) ordered the Basket of Fries! Ah, the simplicity, and all the same attributes applied (not greasy, neither over or under cooked) and equally amazing! I could have eaten either for dinner by themselves! House salads, were diverse with leaves and other elements (nuts, tomatoes) delicate but flavorful dressings. Presented fresh and at an edible temperature (a pet peeve of mine) allowing you to enjoy the salad not fearing the dreaded fresh frozen, preserved taste. I haven't even gotten to the main course! So for the main course, we've (I and my guests) have sampled the Signature Steak Bites, the Sea Bass and the NY Strip. ALL prepared to perfection! Tender cooked to temperature and presented with flair without the feeling of modern art. The quality of the meats and the freshness of the fish were all on point. Seasoned lightly to enhance, not hide their flavor. I sat there (at times with my eyes closed) letting my taste buds have the best night of their lives! OK, if you have room after one of the most satisfying meals you can possibly have, definitely try the Donuts! the ultimate comfort food! Now, I can go on and on, but in the end, what more can you ask for? Wonderful food, great ambiance, embracing service. Overall a place you want to be and keep coming back to when you want just to be happy with your experience! One work of caution! Do not expect to see pretty art on your plate! The subject here is good food and enjoyment at the right price, not bells and whistles, not smoke and mirrors and not fancy to the point of pointlessness! Go dressed to impress yourself and have a great evening!

Grill 116 is by far the best steak restaurant in Tampa. I've been there several times now and it never disappoints! The service is exceptional especially Douglas! You also cannot leave there without ordering the fried doughnuts for dessert. It's not cheap but worth it if you're looking for an amazing experience

We went here for our Christmas party with a table of 12 people. They were on par with service and brought out food super fast. We ordered 2 rounds of appetizers and they came out within 10 minutes. The calamari was super soft and almost melts in your mouth. Their tuna tataki was OK, it felt kind of mushy and had a pulverized texture to it. My husband ordered the Kona Steak which was phenomenal. I ordered the 116 mixed grill which I didn't like. It was a really small piece of salmon, 4 shrimp and garlic mashed. The salmon and shrimp didn't really have allot of flavor, and I didn't even eat the mashed because they tasted like boxed kind. Their donuts were pretty delicious but my absolute favorite was they peanutt butter s'mores dessert. Overall I had a pretty good experience, this place is pretty pricey and I dont even think I saw any entree for under $25.

I went to dinner here with friends. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left it was perfect! it reminded me of a place in NYC, I had to remind myself I was in Tampa. The choices of wine were exceptional, the food beyond perfect. The service was the best, yet not intrusive to our conversation. The only thing better would be if they built one in Safety harbor where I now live. The steak had a very good flavor, Shrimp , scallops were all cooked to perfection. I plan to have another dinner there with family soon!

I felt like I was at some slimy Miami tanned 50 year-old millionaire divorcee's house. Don't touch anything. What is this place doing off of a major road? No wonder it doesn't have windows. Guess the money they saved on the location they used to throw up this uncomfortable decor. To make this even better, they maximized space by placing a ton of tables in this place. "nice to meet you stranger. I can reach one of your fries from my table" kind of space. As Peter Griffin says, that isn't what "grinds my gears" about this place. I went there for a business lunch (not my choice). As soon as I get the menu, it was every foodie's nightmare - THERE WERE CALORIES LISTED. Calories. They limit their menu based on how many calories something has. I knew this wasn't going to go well. I had a steak filet bites salad, as recommended by my peers as "the best thing on the menu." Flavorless. Their menu ranges from $16 to $35ish. You can find better use for your money. I read another review where they didn't allow a service dog in there. I think that's hilarious because they did allow a girl to sit at her bar and sip martinis with a baby. Don't waste your time.

What a great atmosphere! Perfect for a date night or special occasion. Grille One Sixteen is very trendy and has the South Tampa vibe in near-North Tampa, which desperately needs more restaurants like this! I love the fresh, hormone-free meats and fish. I ordered the glazed Scottish salmon. My husband order the fillet, which was absolutely delicious. Also, just a note...I just checked the menus online and it looks like the Carollwood location is slightly more affordable than the Westshore location, but the menu options are more limited. I will probably try that next time, just for comparison.

Hands down worst customer service I have ever received anywhere in the world. We arrived with our service dog, as we do in restaurants across the state. The 'manager-partner' was very argumentative and confrontational about our service dog. He then forced us to leave - begging us to 'sue him or take him to court.' It was very uncalled for, we were very patient and polite and he was absolutely livid. It is against the law to prohibit a registered service animal from an establishment - these guys will be hearing from us shortly. It goes without saying that we will be taking our business elsewhere. There are plenty of deserving business owners with friendly establishments that we will happily dine with instead.

Incredible experience tonight at the 116! I convinced my boyfriend, who does not care for sushi, to try some, and he couldn't believe how good it was (it was good; as fresh sushi should be). We then ordered the mixed grill with salmon and shrimp with a 6-oz filet on the side. Everything was fabulous, but my BF happened to mention in what I thought was a conversational tone with me that the filet was too well done for his taste (guess I should mention at this point that we were at the bar). The waiter and manager happen to be walking by and could not have been nicer and more accommodating! Despite our insistence that the steak was very tender and wonderful, the manager (Eric...SO nice!) made us a new one to take home :) I love this place! The steak came with some fries that I wanted to order but didn't because I need to be eating asparagus. LOVEx2! The wine is $10 for ladies on Wednesdays. LOVEx3! Easy to miss on the autobahn of Dale Mabry but hard to forget once you've been there.

I went with a group of coworkers, and this place was fantastic! Two tips: It's pretty dark inside so give your eyes a chance to adjust and the door blends into the wall so don't miss it! The food was fantastic! First - I had the kobe slider as an appetizer with only shallots - Amazingly tasty! Also tried the shrimp the grilled walkers wood shrimp. It had a great mashed plantain paired with it. Sooooo good! I also was told the tuna tar tar was great! So overall - great appetizers! Second - I had the pan seared diver scallops. They were quite tasty and the grits went well with it. You get 4 large scallops. Other entrees at the table included baby back ribs (wonderful), signature cut filet (fantastic), and grouper piccata (great). We shared some mac and cheese and french fries - quite good! Third - For dessert! We had to try the famous doughnuts. And they were very good! They're a cake donut and they come with toppings. We asked for the toppings on the side, and the clear favorite was caramel. Overall - very good! This is a great restaurant for a date night or night out with friends. It's a tad on the pricey side - but you get what you pay for. The service was great, the food was good, and I look forward to going back to celebrate something special! I would try something else because I really want to try other things on the menu. Overall a good dinner with friends!

Beautiful restaurant in a very odd location on Dale Mabry. We had reservations so no wait once we arrived. We were seated in a very quiet room which was quite romantic and perfectly lit. I ordered my favorite dish ever, Chilean sea bass. Honestly it tasted a bit chewy compared to all the other times I have had it, but I enjoyed it anyway. The drinks were good but extremely small for the price. Now, that sea bass decided to kick my ass and give me food poisoning. Yay! So I was sick for 2 days. Beyond disappointing. Will not eat here again. Good luck yelpers.

I took my husband here for a Friday night date night. We were both feeling nostalgic for California, so I thought this place would be a temporary stopgap for our California dreaming. The building is non-descript on the outside. Parking is free but valet. The inside looks like any generic trendy restaurant in Los Angeles or Las Vegas, but it's pretty darned innovative for Tampa. The lighting is dark, but they very helpfully have backlit menus. The staff is friendly and attentive. The cocktail menu is pretty great. I had the Dear Sling Fizz, which was watermelon-y and refreshing. My husband had the gin mojito and liked it enough to order a second one. The menu is fine, nothing earth-shattering, but solid. We had the tempura lobster to start. The batter was very crispy, and the lobster was fresh, even if the two tails were very small. For our main courses, I tried the Delmonico steak, and my husband had the Grouper Piccata. My steak was fine, it was cooked perfectly medium rare. There was a little too much rosemary, and the grade of meat wasn't fantastic (you'll get a better steak at Bern's or Ruth Chris, but of course those places are more expensive). The fries were perfect. The salad beforehand was great. My husband enjoyed his Caesar salad but hated the grouper. The sauce was too sweet, but more offensively, the fish was super fishy. We couldn't finish one-third of the portion. We didn't try the dessert, although I am curious to try the donuts. This is a fun place for drinks and appetizers (and probably dessert). I'm not crazy about the main courses, but there were a few entrees that were larger versions of appetizers that would probably be pretty tasty.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the look and feel, the light up menus, the bartenders are cool and those donuts are oh so delicious;I always get the sauces on the side and ice cream. I've had the burger, fries, steak, house salad, and salmon too... everything tastes so good, but sometimes ill just swing by for the donuts. To wrap things up ill just say that I really love this place and you should go!

This restaurant was great. It surely deserves five stars from beginning to end. Approaching the restaurant I found the door to be camouflaged, which was really neat. Once inside the establishment the service was impeccable. The server was great, he explained each and every wine choice to us, and each meal option. We ordered the shrimp appetizer that comes with plantain, and the Kano steak. Both we're absolutely great choices. I would surely enjoy dining at this fine establishment again, or any time I am in the Tampa area. Enjoy!!!!

I really like this place and have returned several times (something I don't often do). Great trendy atmosphere, terrific service for our birthday party, and above average quality food. Only issue is that some items were over priced.

Much of the appeal of Grille One Sixteen surrounds its ambience. A trendy and upscale interior combined with backlit menus and semi-private booths create a posh and upscale setting that belies the fact that frat-infested SoHo is just a couple miles away. Needless to say, the decor is what originally enticed me when I came here on a Saturday night for a hot date. The food is pricey and is not really anything to write home about, with the exception of the fries (a heaping portion served in a frying basket with a cheese dipping sauce) and, of course, those deadly donuts that put me into a food coma. The drinks were satisfying and refreshing. My takeaway from Grille One Sixteen: a nice atmosphere for a date or classy gathering, but the revenue generated from the overpriced food is probably being used to finance the decor. I will be back if I ever need to prove to someone that Tampa is capable of metropolitan sophistication.

Loved this place! Went here with friends on a Friday night for a friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised. The inside is very upscale, a couple people in our group commented that it looked like a Vegas restaurant. We had a drink at the bar before going to our table. I had a glass of sangria which was pretty good. For my second drink I had a gin mojito It was my first time having a mojito with gin, but I love gin and am a fan of mojitos, so I thought I would give it a shot. It was fantastic. For appetizers we had the bacon and the salmon on crispy wontons, both of which were extremely good and I would definitely get again. For dinner I had signature center cut fillet and it was very good, one of the best steaks I have had in quite a while. I ordered it medium rare and it was probably closer to medium, which was my only slight complaint with the whole dinner. For desert we shared the donuts, which were soooooo good, the caramel one actually almost made me tear up it was so good. Can't wait to go back. :)

My experience at Grille One Sixteen was 1 Part South Beach, 1 Part Guy Talk and 1 Part Romance (unintentional). Let me explain: My buddy Drew and I decided to go to eat somewhere for dinner. It was after Christmas, we both had just come back from seeing our families. We wanted try someplace that we had not been, so I said I heard that Grille One Sixteen was good. I get there first and walked in and the interior looked liked Nikki Beach nightclub in South Beach. It was all white and very classy. My friend Drew arrives a little bit later and sits down at our table. I immediately explained that I didn't know that this place was as nice as it is. We open the menus and immediately notice the prices. Ugh, not what we were expecting to pay for a dinner to catch up. But whatever, the atmosphere is nice and we heard good things about the food. The Food: Great. I had the All American Cheeseburger and my friend had the Fresh Grouper Piccata. As an appetizer we had Crispy Fried Calamari Strips with a Lemon Herb Aioli. All of the food was excellently prepared for the most part. I ordered my burger medium and it came out well done. I did not feel like sending it back and ate it as is. The burger was flavorful, but I've had better. Not worth $15. The Calamari was A-MAZING! The Lemon Herb Aioli was a nice alternative to the standard marinara sauce. The Ambiance: More suited for a date or group celebration as opposed to a place to grab a quick bite to eat to catch up with a buddy. I definitely would take a date here (single ladies let me know if you want to go). From the instant I walked in, I was mesmerized by the lighting, the chandeliers, the seating and overall décor. The Service: Our server was very attentive and ensured that all of our needs were met. The Drinks: Delicious. I had a couple...okay a few Maple Old Fashioneds made with Makers Mark. I highly recommend them - even if you are not a bourbon drinker. All of the other specialty drinks looked tempting as well. When the bill finally came, the waiter did not separate it. He put it all on one check and placed it closer to me. I'm not sure if it was the pastel sweater I was wearing (joking), my buddy Drew talk of marriage or the fact that we decided to dine at a restaurant where a few of our other friends celebrated their anniversary, but I'm pretty sure the waiter thought my friend and I were a couple. Haha. B. Major Grade: A

Great atmosphere for a Valentine's Day Dinner. We made reservations a few wks in advance and only had to wait about 10 min. From our reservation time. We opted for the Salmon Wontons which were fresh and delicious. I tried to grouper piccata. Delish! The fish was fresh & moist. The grits were AMAZING! I wanted more lol my date had the 116 mixed grill which was a great selection too. They added a complimentary dessert which was a chocolate trudge with raspberry ice cream which was divine. Overall the service was great. The drinks were great & strong. The waitresses were attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Next time I'll try their special doughnuts!

Had such an amazing time. Food...delicious. Atmosphere...comfortable. Drinks...delicious. And it seemed like every time I was about ready for more my waiter was already on it. The service was definitely something to make note of. Our table was always clean and neat, and our server was such a delight. Perfect recommendation for my appetite.. Kobe beef sliders were awesome! I loved that the manager came by to make sure we were happy. Relaxed and had a great time with friends. Will definitely be back.

I was refused service at a Grille One Sixteen in Tampa, FL tonight because I have a service dog that helps me. The owner made me leave the restaurant-which is AGAINST THE LAW. My service dog is small and very quiet and the owner tried to get in a physical altercation with my husband, as well. I want to alert the community not to give money to this establishment because they take part in discriminatory practices!

We went with expectation of cool vibes which was true. We had a table in the open area, it was very loud and we had to almost shout to each other due to noise from the bar which runs the length of the dining area. Hint, get a booth if you are looking for conversation with dinner. Tried the bar appetizers which were good except for the beef carpacio. It is served in a lump rather than shaved. We were both sick the next morning and suspect the carpacio. Will go again for a 2nd chance.

I was here for an event and not to simply dine so I can't fully review them. The food that I did get the chance to taste was very good and the location looked nice. The service was not up to par and the temperature in the restaurant was out of control warm. Not sure if it was all the lights from the event or that they just couldn't keep up but when I am so hot that sweat is dripping down my legs, well that is a major issue.

We dined at Grille One Sixteen recently and everything was amazing. We started with drinks at the bar, which were light, fresh and delicious. Our appetizers and entrees were perfectly cooked and delightfully delicious. We indulged in the doughnuts for dessert and were very impressed. Overall, Grille One Sixteen is the perfect place to dine for any special occasion.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner. Everything was excellent! The calamari is the best I've ever had and I've had a lot of calamari. You can seriously order appetizers all night and not even worry about entree items. Our filet steaks were perfectly cooked. Make sure you leave room for the donuts! So good! We can't wait to go back!

Just about my favorite lunch place in Northeast Tampa. Walking in, every newbie I've taken here has the same reaction I had as a 116 virgin..."uh, wow". The atmosphere takes you out of Tampa ,and when you leave, you feel as though you should be walking out onto a street in NYC. Getting through the front door brings you face to face with the hostess. Now, I'm sure they're very nice, but each one I have encountered has been a ridiculously gorgeous, eyebrow -raising -mean -girl -high school-cheerleader type, which might be a draw to some, but, nerd girl that I am, is a bit off putting, (and I always make it a point to dress for the occasion; it's not like I'm walking in wearing a mumu and flip flops....well, okay, it's Tampa. I might be wearing flip flops, but they're dressy high heel flip flops.) They're a bit haughty as they welcome you through the door, and thankfully that gauntlet is a quick run. Once you get inside, get a booth if you can. It's like role playing Breakfast at Tiffany's or James Bond. The white booths hearken back to those Doris Day rom coms featuring the old NY or LA restaurant scene. They envelope you in privacy and chic-ness and you are inclined to sit up straight when you eat your meal. And though I never do, I always want to order a martini at lunch when I eat here. Service has always been very, very good. The wait staff is pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is terrific . I especially love their salads. All of them. The Grilled Salmon Salad is lovely and the Blackened Filet Salad is a delicious deal. The Seared Tuna Thai Salad is good, but I order the dressing on the side, as the salt and sesame are pretty powerful. The burgers are juicy, the fries are perfectly cooked, and Nueske Bacon is a treat. Great place for a business meeting or a long intimate lunch.

The best mixologist in the Tampa Bay area works at this location...and his name is Jason. I met Jason on either my first or second visit to Grille One Sixteen and I will argue with anyone who socially drinks at Tampa Bay area bars and restaurants that nobody knows his/her craft better than this guy. While the restaurant itself is one of the more unique venues in the area (better suited for Manhattan, South Beach or LA), I enjoy bringing friends in because Jason can make them unbelievably creative drinks that taste really good. He never disappoints. I only actually eat about once every 2-3 visits to Grille One Sixteen, but everything I've had is served properly and tastes quite good. (The delicious Kona Steak is something I crave about once every month or so) So remember, if you're just looking for a quality drink or two and need to escape the usual bar scene in Tampa Bay, call ahed to this Grille 116 location and ask if Jason is pouring drinks. You'll be very happy you did...and outright stupid if you do not.

The decor inside was really nice and it was pretty quiet when I went with my girlfriend so that was good. Some of the items we got didn't have as much flavor as I had hoped, but the Seafood Manicotti was amazing. They also had a diverse wine list. It was a little expensive but overall wasn't too bad. I would go again, and look forward to trying some of the other items on the menu.

At the last minute I decided to have a date night with the wife. Saw that several places were not available so decided to try something different. This is what brought me to Grille One Sixteen. Well after driving through torrents of rain to get there I was surprised to see how plain the outside looked. Once I walked in the door I was quite surprised, it was very appealing. It had a very crisp and inviting look. My wife was impressed by how the menu would light up when you opened it. She was even more impressed with the service we received. Once the last bit was taken there was someone there to take it away. Even with our drinks. The last sip they were there to offer a refill. The funny thing is you didn't feel rushed even though they were there waiting on you every second. I will say this their service beat out Bern's Steakhouse by a mile. My only issue was there apparently a leak in the roof from the rain. It wasn't much of a big deal to us because I just changed seat and notified our server of the issue. The next table on the other hand made a big stink about it. They moved tables and seemed to be fine. I suggest asking for a booth. I didn't get one this time but they definitely look very private and cozy.

Let me start by saying if you are in a large party for business or a special event, the private rooms are nice, big and very suitable for any occasion. Other than that, please tell me the appeal of this place, because I really don't get it. Everything screams desperation to me. I feel like this place is searching for an identity and just can't find it. It's really dark. therefore the lit menus really aren't cool and hip, more like a necessity to read the menu. Sushi happy hour, right beside one of the most iconic sushi restaurants in Tampa Bay. A large billboard that says SWANKY!!!! Why is it so important for you to tell everyone you are swanky? Anyway, on to the food and drinks. The menu couldn't be any more boring. Burgers, steaks, fish. I just described over 100 restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. The only difference, they aren't charging $15 for a burger. They aren't charging $12 for cocktails. My finance ordered a Malibu and coke and it was $10. I'm not cheap, but I have to ask why you would charge people so much money for something like Malibu. The wine list, pretty dull. Nothing is different. As much as they want you to believe it's nice, it's really just lazy. Look at our booths and our lit menus, now give us $40 for steak and fries. Having friends in the service industry, I've heard some not so pleasant stories about the ownership of this place that also leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The south tampa area is starting to become congested with dining options and this place has a good chance to be a casualty, merely because of the overpriced food and beverages and the not-so-great location. To be fair, I did try a few of the ribs and they were very good. The service was ok, our server seemed to think he funnier than he really is, which can be typical in a place like this. I relate this to dating. When you are out with your friends and you are on the prowl, you might encounter a group of average at best looking girls. You pick out an ok looking one. You feed her with compliments about how beautiful she is. The thing is, you aren't the first guy to do this. Now this average girl, thinks she's above average. She is a 4 who thinks and acts like she's a 7. This is Grille 116. It's a 5 who thinks it's an 8.

The best new addition to South Tampa! The food was delicious and so was my cocktail. I had the signature steak bites that came with pretzel points and my boyfriend got the Delmonico steak, both were perfect. The house salad definitely passes the salad test. For a cocktail I had a chocolately expresso martini. In addition to great food, the atmosphere was very trendy and chill. I will definitely be back.

Excellent fresh food. Went for a late night bite. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious shrimp for me and salmon for my wife. Seafood was very fresh and well cooked. Taste and presentation were excellent. Overall, a great experience. I've been to this location and the Northdale location several times. Grille 116 is serves delicious food consistently.

If you are looking for a high-end dining experience, this is the place. The decor and atmosphere inside is very modern, posh, and upscale without being pretentious. The food is really delicious and they have a great wine selection. Excellent service too.

Very interesting place, dark, but with backlit menu. Food in general is decent, about right for four star. Bacon appetizer: nicely smokey thick slab of bacon (6) in a wine glass. Fried Calamari strips appetizer: fried just about right, with an interesting dip BBQ rib: Huge serving, a full slab for $22, well cooked, fall off the bone type. I am not a huge a fan of excessive sauce though. Definitely worth a return visit.

Overall I had a good meal here. Pretzel loaf appetizer was decent, as were the Caesar and house salads. The highlight of the meal was by far the Kona steak, it had a wonderful flavor and was extremely tender. The entire dish has a wonderfully Hawaiian feel to it, I highly recommend it. My dad ordered the snapper which he also thoroughly enjoyed, I tried it and I thought it was a well prepared dish also. The only real disappointment of the meal were the "famous" donuts. I love donuts and have had some very good ones, these were not even close to those. These were way too greasy and so salty, they tasted like something you'd get fried at a fast food restaurant that is fried in the same oil over and over. Overall, good solid meal though.

Extremely impressed. Went here on 5/18 for my birthday dinner. Started with the ceviche which was a great fresh started. My entree was the grouper piccata and my boyfriend had the tempura lobster tails. It was honestly one of the best meals I've had in Tampa. They really know how to do seafood right. Don't forget to get their donuts for dessert...beyond good.

After a long day of travel (and a glutenous weekend in Virginia) the fiance and I decided to try this place out. We are now lame and like to eat dinner early and take advantage of any happy hour specials a restaurant has to offer. They have a Sushi and drinks HH that lasts from 4-6:30 so we made it right on time. It was a little weird at first since we were the only patrons at the restaurant but we got over that real fast. We started with our beverage of choice, Dirty Martini for him and a seasonal sangria for me. I cannot vouch for his martini since olives are gross but my Sangria had fall written all over it. Being in VA all weekend I drank a ton of caramel apple ciders to go with the changing of the leaves. This just went with my obsession. Anyways we took advantage of the other HH specials and ordered the ceviche, sashimi and a nok roll. We also ordered the steak tips since we were both craving a little red meat. The first items to come out were the salad (which came with the steak) and the ceviche. I have to say that we were fighting over that ceviche because it was so good. The remaining items all came out together. The sashimi might have been the BEST I've had in Tampa. You could tell everything was fresh and prepared perfectly. The nok roll was nothing to right home about but still ok. The tempura asparagus completely took over the salmon in the roll. The steak tips with the horseradish aioli was also really good. I could not stop eating the french fries that came with it. At the end we ordered a donut. I think the kitchen got held up by the very large party that came in when we ordered it and my fiance kept asking me if this was worth the wait. Well yes it was and not because they comped it. It was like the donut had a threesome with a funnel cake and a churro. The dipping sauces it came with were also delish. I hope that South Tampa gets its act together and hits this place up.

Stopped by for the second time on a business trip and found the service to be just as good as my first trip. Great atmosphere - modern eclectic - if there's such a thing. I actually had a few items off their appetizer menu and fell in love with the Seared Ahi Tuna and the Grouper Sliders. Excellent! My next visit will include the Chilean Sea Bass (the table next to me ordered this dish and it looked amazing).

The sell here is ambience, not food. You'll pay dearly for any number of underwhelming, under-proportioned dishes just to sit in a booth with padded walls. It tries to be cosmopolitan, but the lack of quality relegates it to the realm of snobbish South Tampa vanity hangouts. Twice in a row, this spot thoroughly disappointed me; the steak was overcooked, the fish had very little flavor, and there was no positive customer service. Note to the staff: smile, don't sneer.

This place is truly a neighborhood gem. Not large, but always packed on weekends because of an excellent ambiance which comes from the combination of architecture, service and food....each rated a 5 out of 5. The Nueske bacon appetizer is fabulous when paired with the pretzel loaf. I could go on, but ALL their food (that I've had so far) has been excellent. We went 2 nights in a row...does that tell you anything? Take the food and mix that with impeccable service from Jennifer (JEN) and oversight by Ro (the mgr) and you have a wonderful dining experience. Before we leave Tampa, we will return to try new menu items to see if the remainder of the menu is as consistent as the first few times Dont take my word, go see for yourself

I was looking for something new for my birthday dinner and came across this gem! We celebrated on a Sunday evening so reservations were easily made. When we arrived we were welcomed by a friendly face and a posh, upscale ambiance, I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a few appetizers (tuna tar tar and the calamari) that were beyond delicious. I got the Delmonico steak, my husband got the Sea Bass, my sister ordered the Kobe Sliders and my Father in Law got the Scallops. To say we were all 100% pleased with the meal would be an understatement. And to top it off the waitress brought out the most beautiful donut dessert. I can't wait to go back with some girlfriends and sit at the bar. This is a welcomed treat of a place into South Tampa!

Visiting from New Jersey and went with a friend per his suggestion. We were both quite impressed. Every dish we tried was truly delicious even compared to some of the many fine dishes I was used to in NYC. Definitely want to go back.

So excited to see them open a South Tampa location - have been to the N. Tampa spot a few times and always loved the Miami-feel to the place. Great music, lighting. Everything from app to dinner, from hostess to waiter, was excellent.

We ate here on a Satuday evening. We started with the shrimp appetizer, we thought they were large and very good. We also had the bacon which was excellent. We had the NY strip and added lobster which were both excellent, yet the star of the dinner was the four cheese macaroni and cheese! So good. Of course we ending with the donuts which were also very yummy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our waiter was one other best we have had in years.
