Great pizza. The specialty pies are imaginative and flavorful. Very casual atmosphere with a relaxed vibe. The only negative is a strange prejudice in the delivery policy. They deliver to Davis Islands a couple miles away. But they won't deliver north of Kennedy Blvd. less than a mile away. It seems strange for such a down to earth seeming bunch of guys. Since I live on the wrong side of Kennedy, I have to choose another place (Sally O'neals, curiously, farther away than Gourmet) when I don't feel like picking it up.

This place has potential but lack of attention to detail & technique is not allowing them to get that wow factor from me. Dark wood floors & tables as the typical pizza spot feel goes. The kitchen is some what open so you can peek in there as they prepare the food. The pizza's taste was a four for me. The crust was not impressive in my opinion maybe a three, the pizza was soggy in the middle & this was in restaurant, I can't imagine if it was take out! I hope they can improve upon their pizza because I really wanted to love this place.

Revising this review. The Maya salad is so freaking good, I can't stand it. The pizza sticks are TO DIE FOR. Parmesan and butter saturated baked dough with a cheesiness that your mouth with thank you for.. plus Gourmet's homemade red sauce?! I could drink that stuff. I'm pretty sure there's crack in it, so good. Traditional pie for me. Never fails. YUMMMMMMM

I ordered a GLUTEN FREE pizza for my mom. Within minute of finishing the pizza she was in so much pain she couldn't stand up straight. Needless to Say that's the last time we will ever be ordering from them again!

I had a half off depot coupon for Gourmet Pizza Co and decided to get takeout. I ordered the grape and gogonzola salad and a small classic veggie pizza. The salad wasn't worth it's price tag of $8. It had way too much Gorgonzola cheese on it-it overpowered the grapes and sunflower seeds. I did like the dressing though. You could tell it wasn't from a bottle. The pizza was good-nothing great but nothing horrible. They do have a lot of specialty pizzas to choose from so I'm sure you'll find one that tickles your fancy. This business has been here for a long time. If I had to guess, I'd say at least 15 years. I could be wrong though. Support this local business but don't expect to have your socks knocked off.

Arrived and was ignored for 20 minuets while counter person was on a personal phone call. After finally ordering food arrived, food was plentiful and good but not great. Would I return, probably not. We were the only two in the restaurant at the time and still not acknowledged.

Best barbecue chicken pizza I've ever had whoever thought of banana peppers on BBQ chicken is a genius. Great for gluten free too.

Great little pizza spot in Soho. Interesting selection of specialty pizzas and sauces. Our favorite was the BLT pizza (with balsamic glaze)...delicious! Definitely worth the money and a visit. Offers gluten-free options too.

I love this spot. The pizza is good, but in my opinion, get a calzone and the 5-cheese ravioli. I dream about the ravioli sometimes, it's that good. And the calzones come with cheesy bread. Definitely a must-try in south tampa.

you know how sometimes your reallh excited for pizza and just cant wait to get it? then you pick it up all hot, get It home, open it up and it looks amazing... it looks so good you just have to take a bite before you get the table set? then you bite into it and it tastes even better then it looks? this is not one of those pizzas. more like dominos on a good day. but now I feel like im insulting dominos. apparently they are the only gluten free pizza place. if u dont need gluten free go somewhere else.

I can only speak to their gluten-free pies, as that's all I've had here... They offer gluten free crust in he 10-inch, personal size pizza. Truth be told, this is more than enough for one person (enough for 2 small people for two), but I always manage to eat the entire thing. You can order any of their pizzas on the GF crust. The veggie pizza is great and loaded with peppers, mushrooms, olives and tomatoes. My only gripe is the put the tomatoes on raw, after the pizza has cooked. They had done this with another pizza I had, and some pizzas they cook the tomatoes on it. Be sure to ask if which is which if you have a preference...

Delish. As a person newly diagnosed with a gluten allergy I had to try the gluten free pizza. Love the fact that they have tons to choose from and they even tell me what isn't GF and what is GF on the menu. Gluten free sweets too! Score. The signature flat bread it pretty awesome, btw. For those that complain about it being too fancy... go to pizza hut and leave the good stuff for the rest of us. I personally like the fact that I can have some semi healthy pizza. Will definitely return.

Some of the best pizza on the planet. I'm a fan of calzones, and this place goes above and beyond in size, taste, thickness of dough, cheese, and toppings. Yeah, packed full of the 3 toppings that come with the $8.95 calzone price. The marinara is homemade and has a strong garlic taste- oh so delicious. Calzones are baked and brushed with a garlic butter/oil blend. Pizza dough is to die for. Every topping we've tried has been super fresh and top quality. Service is fast. Salads are creative and delicious. VEGAN and VEGETARIAN options, including generous Daiya vegan cheese, and even the desserts are vegan! Two people can eat and have two regular drinks $25, no problem, with enough to take home for leftovers. Staff are professional and accommodating. Loo is CLEAN!! Decor is awesome!

You may think this pizza is pricey but it is worth it. Every pizza and crust is delicious. I especially love the 5 gourmet cheese pizza. The Gorgonzola is what makes the pizza. The breadsticks are also amazing. If you get delivery you can expect at least an hour. I think the best thing is to call and pick up. There are a few tables if you want to eat in, but it does not speed up your order at all.

We ordered a pizza and were told it would take no more than an hour for the pizza to be delivered. After an hour an ten minutes, I called to see if the pizza was on the way. I was told at that time the Pizza was in the oven, its obvious that they waited an hour before they even put my order in the oven. I was shocked! I could understand if I ordered a pizza on Superbowl Sunday, but on a Wednesday night, I would expect service to be a little quicker.

How are there so few reviews for this place? It's awesome! Yes, it can take a while to get your pizza, but just call ahead! I've tried some of the other "gourmet" pizzas around here, but this place is the best. The dough is chewy and perfectly cooked (no burnt bottoms). Not too much tomato sauce, just lots and lots of delicious toppings with 100% real mozzarella! The two best are the French Country Pizza (so good with chewy escargots) and the Gorgonzola with Steak.

There are three pizza places in South Tampa that I regularly grab take-out from, and Gourmet Pizza Company being one of them. I am a big fan of the steak and gorgonzola pizza and they have yet to disappoint me on it. I always order it take-out with a side of their pizza breadsticks. I haven't tried any of their other pizzas just because I am in love with the steak and gorgonzola (sans onions), so I def recommend that pizza if your a fan of that combo. The staff has always been friendly and I've only been on weeknights so its usually not super busy and my pizza is always done within a reasonable amount of time. I find their prices to be reasonable for a non-chain, higher end ingredients pizza place. I think it's def worth the money.

I'm a fan of Gourmet Pizza Company. Their pizza's are flavorful, delicious and full of fresh ingredients. Salads are great too. They have been offering more gluten free options lately. I can't speak to the taste of these but I like that they are an option. Pizzas can get a little pricey. Check the website for their Specials. And always, always order the pizza bread sticks. They are amazing!! They offer several sizes and the 10" personal is great for one or when you don't want to share. The Margarita pizza is delish, with fresh mozz cheese and the plain old pepperoni pizza is incredible too. I've never been disappointed with any of the pizza choices. Best for dine in or carryout. They do deliver but it usually takes more time than they quote on the phone (they quote 30, it takes 45+ etc.); I've waited up to and over an hour. It's better to just go get it.

In my opinion, Gourmet Pizza Company has the best Gluten Free crust of any place in Tampa. I don't think they bake it there- but, it still has a very fresh taste. The Tomato Pesto White pizza is my favorite- ricotta, mozzarella and feta cheese are all involved and that makes me happy. If you're in a rush, call ahead. They make each pizza to order so it takes a while if you just walk in.

If I was going on taste alone Gourmet Pizza Co would ge 4 stars. The menu has a lot of uniqueoptions for an independently owned pizza place. I have never had pizza I didn't like from this place. The BBQ chicken and breadsticks we got this time were not an exception. Fresh, quality ingredients, crust with just the righ amount of crispness - it really is a great pizza! My issue is with the way the place is run. I don't get why they are always so slow. When I placed my order on Wednesday an was told I would wait an hour for my delivery I thought that was on the long side for 6pm on a Wednesday. When it actually took an hour and a half and I got no apology I was pretty pissed. The price o this place is too high and there are too many other great, independently owned pizza places in south Tampa to get away with service this bad, in my opinion.

I really love it when a pizza place just gets it. And I love love LOVE the gluten free options. You can't even tell you're eating gluten free crust. They even have Gluten free BEER. I ordered the Gambini -- Ricotta, Tomato, Onions, Italian Sausage, Basalmic glaze drizzle - sweet mother of holy pizza. I don't remember the last time I loved a pizza this much. The only negative was that it was about a 25 minute wait after we ordered, but WOW was it TOTALLY worth the wait. Everything just tasted so fresh and bursting full of flavor. I can't wait to go back and try their flourless, gluten free desserts :)

Cute little pizza shop! We went right at noon on Sunday (today) which seemed to be perfect timing. We were the only people there - the kids hung out in the lounge area while we waited for pizza. The Mayan salad was very flavorful. We ordered a large and got 4 side salads out of it. ($7.95). We ordered 3 pizzas: Steak and Gorgonzola - tasty. Hubby liked it. I am not too hot on steak pizzas but it was good. White Veggie - this was DELISH!! Fresh ingredients, including fresh garlic. Kids had pepperoni and bacon and they devoured it. They also have GF beer and desserts as well. We will be back for the creative toppings and delish crust. I definitely want to try the other salads.

Ugh! I was so excited to get the new move-in packet with a $10 off deal here! (Although I'm not new to the area) I wanted to opt for the gluten free but that apparently was not part of the deal. So I chose Hawaiian and my boy chose BLT. We did half and half on a large pizza, The Hawaiian was o-k. I wasn't wowed. I didn't even try the BLT which just looked awful to me with an overload of balsamic glaze. (Please see pic) The bread sticks were decent. Just seemed like the pizza crust with cheese. Overall my experience was o-k or decent. I will be back to try the gluten free as I am trying TRYING! to not eat wheat!

Haven't dined in, so likely will update this review but I will say the delivery service was shockingly formal/professional. I guess they stick to the "gourmet" state of mind. I had the Chicken Smoked Gouda delivered. - marinated chicken breast, caramelized red onions, smoked BACON and finished with smoked gouda cheese. ... Crust was a little too burnt, but the bacon bits were nice and crispy! This is definitely not your standard Pizza Hut, Dominoes etc pizza experience but its not truly gourmet pizza IMO, especially for the price of the pies. Pro-Tip: they will deliver to a HUGE portion of So. Tampa! Check-out the map on the website.

This place stole my heart! Fresh, delicious, made to order gourmet pizza at a very reasonable price. Best GF crust I've tried in Tampa, because it tastes like regular thin crust. My PIC and I both tried half and half pizzas. Mine was half chicken and spinach/half 5-cheese. I loved both halves but couldn't finish. I drizzled their herb oil and parmesan over it just because. Atmosphere was down to earth, and service was friendly. Had the place to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon, so no SoHo crowd to deal with for an added bonus.

And the Thai ginger salad doesn't ever disappoint - great change -plantain chips vs sun chips - Terrific upgrade!! Great job.... Sasha and I are sure to return!!

I came for the vegan pizza (w/ Daiya). The hand-tossed crust was perfect with just a bit of tooth. While vegan pizza is a dime-a-dozen most places now, this place has vegan pesto which was delicious. Too bad there was no vegan sausage (Field Roast? Torfukey?) or pepperoni (Yves? Tofurkey? Lightlife?) to kick the pizza into 5-star category. Order at the counter, find your seat, and soon your pizza will be out. I thought the service was good, and the ambiance was pretty good. Not dive pizza joint, not stuffy like the name would imply: nice tables and chairs, pleasing lighting, real plates, plastic silverware, paper napkins, and Sex Pistols coming from the speakers in the kitchen. Parking was a little iffy, but I'm definitely a fan.

Searching for a restaurant that has offerings for vegans and people with dairy issues can be tough. Not only does Gourmet Pizza company accommodate both, but they also have a lot of gluten free offerings - something very rare for a pizza joint. And I guess if you're vegan or have gluten allergies, just about any pizza that you're actually able to eat without dying (physically or just emotionally) is probably a great treat. Our vegan friends had tried their pizza at a vegetarian festival, liked it and suggested we go there since we were nearby. The problem is that if you're not limited to vegan/GF options, the pizza really isn't that great. It's not bad, but it's pretty mediocre. If you're adventurous, you can try crawfish tails or escargot on your pizza. Interesting, but I just wasn't in the mood for snails on my pizza - just some pepperoni, thanks. Had it just been a matter of the pizzas, I would have gone 2.5 stars, rounded to 3. But we also got an order of the pizza breadsticks and my wife ordered the Mayan salad. The breadsticks are covered in melted mozzarella and then an entire block of parmesan is grated and dumped on top. The result is a very dry taste that is somewhat ameliorated by the tomato dipping sauce. Unfortunately, the cup of it is so small that you only get about 2-3 breadsticks dipped in there before you're out. The biggest complaint, though, was the Mayan salad. To call this salad "crappy" would be a compliment. Made up entirely of romaine hearts and a handful of tasteless beans, corn, tomatoes and cheese - not even the mango dressing could help it. The only thing gourmet about this place is the toppings list.

Dine in, Pick Up or Delivery (in South Tampa and SOME Downtown areas) - This place offers gourmet fast food. You ask, how can gourmet and fast food come together? Easily: * All fresh ingredients, diverse collaboration of ingredient selection for pizza selection and 90% of the pizza selection offer gluten free dough * Ready within 10 minutes (20 when busy) How can you go wrong? Sometimes I get the itch to indulge and not do a lot of planning. Gourmet Pizza Company helps me solve this problem without making me feel guilty. Diva Dawn's Faves: * The Maya Salad * The BLT aka Godmother Pizza (10 inch for myself or larger if sharing) * Country French Pizza - same recommendation as above for size portion, but I also have to list the ingredients for this one: house cheese blend, fresh mushrooms, white onions, fresh garlic, whole escargot and finished with smoked gouda cheese!!!!

Good pizza, and their plain cheese pizza is soo cheap! Service is horrible though. Calzones are iffy....sometimes they are really good, other times just horrible!!! I guess it depends on who is working. Just not consistent in size either.

Gourmet offers big hearty portions of gourmet toppings on their pizzas. There are tons of options for vegans or people with gluten allergies. That said I'm just not a big fan. Personally I think the pizza at Gourmet Pizza is just a little too healthy.... I don't want a ton of gourmet veggies or fancy sauce on my pizza! I just want some good, thin crust NY style cheese pizza. My husband loves the Chicken and Spinach White Pizza, but in my opinion it seems undercooked in my opinion. That said, the location is great and the service is good and friendly. If you are looking for a healthier and fancier pizza this is your spot!

While certainly not gourmet on NYC standards (the soft water in FL is somewhat to blame, I'm sure), the two pies we ordered were passable...delivery took quite a bit too long and the pies were close to cold on arrival, so the saice and cheese didn't hold up very well. Toppings, etc., will be exactly as requested, which in this day and age is a plus.

I really like Gourmet Pizza Company. They have options that really do make the pizza significantly more hearty and tasty! They can load fresh veggies on the pies, and I love that! I think that my favorite pizza is the southwest one. It has an awesome taste to it, and is a nice change from the normal maranara sauce. I have always just gone to pick up the pizza, rather than eating in. The service is always quick for pickup, and my order has always been ready right when I get there. The people that work there are not the most friendly, but I feel like that is a trend in pizza places for some reason. A weird trend at that. They have gluten free options, which is amazing for a couple of my friends that have a gluten intolerance. It is always nice to have pizza at a place where everyone can enjoy.

A place that willingly puts crawfish, green olives, escargot, black beans and rib-eye on a pie should be celebrated FIRST (shot second). Seriously, this place is a godsend. I would never order the above, but I just like the fact that I COULD. It reminds me of pizza places in bigger metro areas that stock ingredients for very diverse palates -- I both love and respect that approach. I've ordered from Gourmet Pizza Company a dozen or more times over the last two years and have only been disappointed once -- at which point, they promptly delivered a second pizza. It's actually the only pizza place in South Tampa I get my pies from. The pizza is consistently delish, fresh, fast and crowd-pleasing. Choose it for yourself, but def choose it for a group -- it's kind of fun to see friends sort through the mile-long ingredient menu to build half-n-half pizzas. One wish-list item: Stay open until 11 or midnight on weekends. I don't even think of food until about 10 on some Fridays and Saturdays, but you're closed by then. :-(

I absolutely love this place - It is one of the only places I will order pizza from. Tons of vegan options but I always get the Cheeseless Vegan. (They have vegan cheese as an option as well)

If ordering delivery, think twice. I ordered a large "PIE" with extra cheese and they delivered a large "THAI". For anyone who doesn't know, a Thai, has nothing to do with Pizza, it's peanuts and cabbage. I hadn't eaten all day, waited over an hour for the large "PIE" and received that. To top it off they refused to give me my money back. They're a bunch of crooks. Don't walk away from this place. RUN!

Visited a friend in Tampa who suggested we stop by the Gourmet Pizza Company near Hyde Park. I really appreciate restaurants who are veggie/vegan friendly (they offer gluten-free options too). I ordered the Portobello Gorgonzola & Mediterranean pizzas and I ate the hell out of them. If I had to recommend one, I thoroughly enjoyed the Portobello Gorg pizza with it's caramelized onions and soft, warm mushrooms... it hit the spot! The atmosphere was pretty laid back. The interior is quite a contrast from the exterior...not something I expected. Kind of industrial and loft-like inside of an unassuming building. Service was good too. Will stop by again whenever I'm in town.

While visiting Tampa, I did a quick search on vegetarian/vegan friendly pizza places and found this place. I ordered a half veggie laden pizza and a half meat (aka man) pizza for my boyfriend. To balance my splurge, I also ordered a side salad complete with gorgonzola cheese and sun dried tomatoes. Everything we ordered was delicious. Food aside, staff was incredibly rude. When I called to place my order, the guy on phone almost acted irritated with my questions and/or order. It took about an hour to arrive but was without any napkins, plastic utensils or salad dressing for my salad. I probably would not go here again.

I've sailed right past this hidden pizza place for 12 years straight, never once ever stopping in. It is in, quite possibly, the worst spot for a business in all of S. Howard, tucked away in a somewhat pedestrian facade on the side of busy Armenia Ave., just at the corner of traffic-choked Swann. True, lots of traffic passes by here, but that's exactly the problem. You pass by, but never stop because there appears to be no parking. Well, it was a Sunday night, and we found a parking spot at the curb. Plus, we had a coupon for a free pizza. Well, let me report that I have been making a terrible, terrible mistake bypassing this obscure gem. Not only is there parking available on both sides of the building, but the pizza is among the best I've tried. Yes, they have all sorts of gluten-free and vegan items on their rather extensive menu. Whatever. I don't care about those, though I'm sure they make this the only pizza option in town for many people. No, we opted for a 16 inch chicken-pesto-artichoke pizza. What came out was a near masterpiece. Maybe my standards have declined in the 12 years I've lived in Tampa, but this was one tasty pie. And there was an admirable amount of protein scattered on top, large chunks of moist white meat chicken littering the cheesy white surface, and an amazing amount of juicy artichoke, with the correct amount of pesto, which can be overpowering if overdone. The crust was neither thick, nor thin, but a nice compromise of well cooked dough. At $20, this was not a cheap item. You could order three huge chicken burritos at, say, Chipotle, around the corner and still receive change from a $20, plus get enough food for 3 or 4 meals. But as an occasional pizza fix, The Gourmet Pizza Company still gets my hearty vote of approval, despite its prices. The interior even has a large space for inside dining, which seems invisible from the street: another reason I never went here before. It looks like a takeout-only hole in the wall. My only criticism is they could stand to wash their windows, which were filthy, and made we wonder about how clean the kitchen might be.

I had the basic cheese pizza with no extra topping. The crust was thick and doughy, not thin and crisp as I would ideally want it. There was a lot (maybe too much) sauce and cheese on it. The sauce was on the garlicy side, which some people might not like, but we did. Next time, I'll be more adventurous and choose one of the gazzilion toppings they offer.

I have been here a few times and lately I was with a large group. Everyone enjoyed their pizzas. I had a Stromboli with mushrooms, Italian sausage and spinach. This thing was huge!! It was two meals for me. Overall the pizza is good and you will not be disappointed. For those who need gluten free, this is the place for you. My friend loves it. The establishment is nice and clean although the staff could be a little happier to see customers. That is really my biggest gripe. Staff is not that friendly. Overall a good place to visit, clean, easy to park and the main part, good pizza. I like the crust the most. I am a fan it is always good to have a few good pizza joints on your list.

Service is TERRIBLE! Even when they answer the phone, they don't sound polite. The owner is NOT friendly at all either. Had a problem with a credit card transaction, and the owner was arguing with us. That's how you treat customers. Food is ok enough. On the website, they offer a coupon. I placed an order for delivery, and mentioned the coupon. They didn't automatically give the coupon, you have to mention the coupon, in order for them to give it to you. On my most recent purchase, the crust was soggy, literally you could press on it and liquid came out. And waaayyyyyy too much cheese on the pizza and flatbread.

well i will say this, it's not the best vegan pizza i have ever had - i just don't think daiys (which they use) makes the best pizza in the world - but it WAS good and the vegan breadsticks were spectacular. i probably should have ordered the pizza without the daiya, but well, i really felt like a full-blown pizza. great selection of gourmet toppings and i really, really appreciate the attention given to vegan diets. i'll be back

I am a big fan of Gourmet Pizza Company. I normally always get their pizza with spinach and artichokes added. Their crust is just amazing. It's thick on the outside and thin and crispy as you move to the middle. They are always very generous with their amount of toppings, the cheese blend is thick and creamy and I love that when I bite into it a huge string of cheese follows me from my plate to my mouth. I am not a fan of pizza sauce at all, but they never put too much on and I actually don't mind their sauce. I recently discovered their breadsticks which I might like even more than than the pizza. There is so much great cheese and on top of that cheese is sprinkled more parmesan. My husband loves to dip it in the marinara sauce on the side. They have tons of options for the meat lover, vegetarian and vegan alike. They also have gluten free options. Their location right off of Armenia and Swann is convenient for S. Tampa peeps. I have only ever actually eaten inside once as we usually get take out, but the time that we did was great. It wasn't too crowded or noisy and the staff is always friendly. They deliver too if you're in their radius and they always have great specials online.

Called in a delivery order at 7:00 pm - told it would be 45 minutes to an hour. One hour and half later, told they were on their way. Almost two hours later, told by the manager that the cooks never recieved my ticket order - and the manager never apologized or offered free pizza for the future. After I told him to tear up my credit card number, all I got was "okay". Will never order from here again. Very disappointing.

According to the marketing materials for Gourmet Pizza, the restaurant was voted one of the "Top 10 must-eat-at pizzerias in the country." In light of this bit of extraordinary press, I had very high expectations for this restaurant. Top 10 pizzeria in the country? The pizzas ought to be mind-blowing, right? Based on the glowing recommendation of the staff, I ordered the cacciatore pizza. Three people in our party tried it, and thought it was awful. Someone ordered the calzone, which I also tried. It was mediocre (we thought it was better than the cacciatore pizza, but that's a low bar for comparison). Thought it was going to be great, totally disappointed.

Terrible customer service. I have ordered from this establishment with success before but I will not be back. They didn't put my cheese bread in a pizza box like my wife requested and when I asked they called her a liar. When I got home my pizza and my breadsticks were very burned. I called back and my wife talked to a guy (Mark, I think) and he was rude to her but agreed to send out a replacement. When the replacement arrived it was the wrong pizza. We sent it back and I told the driver to refund my card for the pizza but I would be happy to pay for the bread. This never happend so I called back and was told the manager Christina Lima would call me back. I believed I heard her in the background saying she was too busy to deal with it. Instead, the rude guy (Mark) called me back and said he wouldn't refund me because he sent me two pies. I let him know he sent me two WRONG pies. He said "We are not a 4 star hotel sir, we are just a pizza place" A very poorly run pizza place with no idea how to deal with customers. We will never be back!!!!

A little packed a lunch good variety of pizza options. If you have a vegan/veg friend this would be a good choice also have gluten free stuff. Me being a meat eater without sprue I'll still go back. But I've had better pizza in tampa before. The server/cashier was pleasant and the two person crew managed to handle a flood of macdill folks arriving at the same time.

I'm new to the area, and live within walking distance, so I thought I would give it a shot. This may be a fantastic place for those with gluten dietary restrictions, however, for others, beware: pizza is bland, and while the breadsticks were pretty good, the sauce was cold; and a collateral side order. Overall, I would not return unless i needed pizza to continue living, and every other pizza shop in Tampa was closed.

While the ingredients tasted fresh, the pizza as a whole (veggie + italian sausage) was extremely bland. The flavors didn't meld or melt together. The pizza tasted like the 6 individual toppings. Not to mention that one of the worst things about bad thin-crust pizza occurred: the layer of toppings just slid of the slice. Unfortunate pizza and bad experience. This review is for the non-gluten free pizza. We didn't try that. After this experience, we won't. Another Tampa pizzeria bites the dust in our book!

Very disappointing Margarita pizza. The simplicity of this timeless classic demands perfection, and only establishments confident they can provide it should put the Margarita on their menu. Gourmet Pizza Company is not one of those. The soggy crust was topped with generic red sauce and an almost inexcusably meagre portion of fresh mozzarella (some slices had less than a circle of cheese). While the Mediterranean pizza we ordered was good, the brutal beating this joint delivered to the Margarita was beyond reprieve, and we will not be dining here again. Very disappointing.

Almost didn't go here because the reviews were pretty mixed, but I love pizza and had a Groupon coupon so thought I'd take some friends. The pizza was excellent, and the "Spring Salad" and pizza sticks were really good. Atmosphere is why I give this 3 stars. Service, except for the very nice blonde cashier, was terrible. True story: You order at the cash reg, so don't go here if you want someone to take your order. They will serve you the food -- that's the funny part. When the very hairy/bearded cook delivered our pizza (I began searching for hairs immediately), we realized we did not have any forks. Asked him for some, and he hesitated and then said, "you can get them at the counter," and walked away. I guess he realized how incredibly rude that was, so he did bring back some very nice plastic ware (everything is plastic), but that sets the tone for the overall "attention to detail and Service" mindset. I also had serious concern for the cleanliness of the place --- it just "felt" dirty. All that said, the pizza was excellent -- next time I'll do carry-out."

I just moved here from LA- and Gourmet was one of the first pizza places we called for delivery. Actually- we first called Westshore pizza- but when they told us they didn't have jalapenos we passed. Gourmet was delicious! We ordered jalapeno with carmelized onions- so good!

I hate to write a bad review on an independent restaurant, but I gave the restaurant a second chance after one bad experience, and I was disappointed again. I, like another couple of reviewers below, wanted to try this pizzeria with its rave reviews as one of the top pizza restaurants in the country, and both times I wished I had decided to eat anywhere else. The service was rude the first time, but I wouldn't mind that so much if the pizza was good, but it was mediocre and generic at best. My next order was today, which is almost two months later. I placed a delivery order for a spring salad and a small hawaiian and a thai "salz-sa", which is supposed to be a flatbread with a thai salad on top. We received the spring salad, which was fine, and the small hawaiian, which was soggy, the cheese was bland and cold, and we found a total of four teeny tiny little pieces of ham (their "smoked bacon") on the entire pizza. We also received a cheese bread (more soggy, semi-thin crust, but definitely not "flat bread" with bland, lukewarm cheese) served with marinara sauce and no thai salad. I called the restaurant immediately, hoping that they would replace the cheese bread with my thai salz-sa (assuming that someone else had ordered cheese bread and hadn't yet received my order by mistake), and the person who answered the phone was extremely confrontational, insisting that I didn't understand that the cheesy bread was, in fact, flat bread (with marinara sauce for a thai salad, really?). I let that go, but still inquired about my order. Finally, they agreed to send a thai salad over (the cheesy bread now disgustingly soggy and cold). My husband answered the door and inquired if I had ordered a sun chip salad. I looked in the box, and saw that the entire salad was covered completely with sun chips. The delivery person explained that this was the "crunchy wonton strips." No, no, they're sun chips. He seemed quite relieved when we agreed to accept the salad so that he could leave. A salad covered in sun chips to go with cheesy bread and marinara sauce. Not really my idea of a gourmet thai flat bread pizza. Words have meaning.

I had the best pizza of my life here today. I recently discovered my gluten intolerance and sadly have to change my diet. And I love pizza (or anything bread-y) so I wasn't looking forward to eating pizza that I thought would taste like cardboard. It was the opposite. It was SO GOOD! You gotta try this place. I am serious!

Every time I return to Tampa, I ensure that I go to Gourmet Pizza Co. I have never had a bad experience here. I usually get the bread sticks (made with pizza dough, they are buttery, garlicky, and have awesome texture,) and the 5 Cheese Pizza with tomatoes. (Tomatoes are extra, but I think they add just the touch of freshness and acidity that the heavy 5-cheeser needs and are WELL worth it.) Their ingredients are top-quality and I am a big fan of their sauce, too. It's highly flavourful and tangy, but never too sweet. For me the service is always great, but I've been a regular for many years now and try to connect with the owner, Kristina, before I visit so I can try to see her when I am there. I only get back once or twice a year now, but it's often a culinary highlight of my trips home. Oh--and gluten free? They've got you covered for that, too.

I really like this pizza place. I always get a pepperoni pie and their pizza breadsticks are made with some sick parmesan and sweet tasting sauce! I go at least once a month here. Tip: they usually have a half off depot .com voucher you can buy. Look them up before going!

I'm from Manhattan and I think this place has some of the best pizza in the country. Even their gluten free pizza is excellent. All the guys are great - Shaun, Reiland, Bryan and everyone else. I was in Tampa for a week with my wife. We went once a day. Get the flatbreads with the marinara dipping sauce on the side. And have the maya salad with the Thai ginger dressing. Great job.

Gourmet pizza...more like ..well I don't have a good comeback lol but what I can say is I wasted $30. I got the chicken gouda pizza which tasted like cheese and bread. I also got the pesto flatbread which tasted like cheese and bread. So much cheese and bread!!!.... Oh and flat bread is suppose to be crisp, not soggy and the pesto....could barely taste it. I will never comeback here...well unless I have a yearning for cheese and bread.

Tried this place a few years ago with a voucher and have been going back at least once a month ever since. Space inside isn't very big, maybe 7 or 8 tables, but it makes for a quiet dining experience (great for dates). Haven't had a pizza there yet that I didn't like, my favorites being the bbq chicken and BLT pizzas. My wife and I usually get the sweet onion sausage flatbread as an appetizer. Great little spot.

The student named above as The Gourmet Pizza Company is being assessed in the following subjects. AMBIANCE: B The student was quiet during a Thursday lunch. (S)He could benefit from a more sociable personality as there was nobody other than Mr. Mark A and his trusted colleague to provide company to this poor student. Otherwise, the student is neatly dressed despite hiding in the shadows of low lighting. SERVICE: C The student's mother was respectful at the register. Not overtly friendly but neither rude nor abrasive either. She gave Mr. Mark A and colleague time to review the menu of what the student had to offer. She took the order and brought out the pizza in a timely fashion. FOOD: B Fortunately for the student, Mr. Mark A is not terribly picky with his pizza. The Thai Chicken Pizza served up by the student had nice flavor with the peanut sauce drizzled over it. There was a nice proportion of meat and veggies. Mr. Mark A did notice that a gluten-free pizza was an option to be served by the student, however, Mr. Mark A and colleague opted not to go hipster healthy this time around. Mr. Mark A recommends The Gourmet Pizza Company for promotion to Middle School.

I'm here in Tampa temporarily and quickly realized how many health conscious restaurants there are! When I looked up Gourmet Pizza Company popped up and I decided to give it a try. I ordered take out the cheese bread sticks and the meaty meat both with gluten free crusts and it was delicious. The cheese blend on the bread sticks was yummy with a hint of sweet in the crust I believe. Dipping it into their marinara sauce made it an extra treat. Now the pizza; plenty of fresh ingredients. It was so plentiful with toppings I only needed two of the slices and I was full. Next time I want to eat in and try their other tempting items.

Coming from Chicago, I just wasn't in the mood to try their pizza. However, I bought a Groupon as I realized it was close to the hotel I'd be staying at.....and I'm content with the food. If I was staying longer, I'd be back. If I come to Tampa again, I'd consider eating here, but I'm not crazy about everything I got. Came here the other day, however since there are no hours posted we found out after we walked in that they were closed. Grabbed a menu for future reference. I decided on a calzone, because nothing else stood out and I could throw in what I wanted. I'm stuffed from the Maya salad and some breadsticks....but taking a few bites the ricotta is just too much for me. I'm not crazy about ricotta to begin with, but I'm trying to expand my horizons and seeing as how I used to work in a cheese department, I figured I might as well just leave it be. The banana peppers don't work well with the chicken breast (oddly) and I think it's because of the ricotta. Either way, it's not horrible, I'll just probably enjoy it more once it's cold. The maya salad was really good. I'm not one for beans, but everything blended really well. Now, I hate dressings but this was a mango vinaigrette and I ended up pouring all of it over the salad...which was a half order. Yeah, I'm glad I went with the guy's suggestion. The breadsticks...delicious. 'Nuff said. Didn't care for the attitude of the person the first night, but the guy in there tonight was REALLY nice, so I'll attribute the first guy's attitude to it being past close and him wanting to be out of there.

Good, convenient, but not great. Been a few times- always left wanting more/better/different. I like the crispy crust, but am not a big fan of the residue it leaves on your hands. Tried it again after purchasing a groupon-- got the pizza breadsticks which were good, but the accompanying sauce wasn't hot. The margarita pizza was good, and the fresh mozzarella pizza was delicious, but it wasn't hot/melted enough. My boyfriend had the BBQ pizza and thought it was "pretty good." Once again, left wanting more/different/better. Maybe if things were hotter, we'd be more likely to go.... especially since I practically live next door. Close, but, as they say, no cigar.

So. Damn. Good. Possibly the best pizza I have ever eaten, and I celebrated my first birthday by eating pizza. No joke. The pizza breadsticks are great, and the marinara sauce on the side is even better. Even if you just order pizza, get a cup of the sauce to dip the crust. Its that good. The salads are a bit of a rip off. Everything is overpriced by a couple of dollars, but the pizza is worth it. The cacciatore is orgasmic. I would prefer a little less of the guava drizzle, but it adds a very unique aspect to the flavor profile. The combination of manchego cheese and green olives is so good, I would have to invent words to describe its greatness. The chicken smoked gouda and steak gorgonzola are less creative, but still very good. I have no interest in vegetarianism, but GPC's vegetarian offerings are pretty delicious. The mediterranean in particular, with capers(!), banana peppers, and your typical greek toppings, is my favorite. I could not care less about the gluten-wheat-whatever-free crap, and cannot stand how whiny "gluten-intolerant" people are about their food. You are a ridiculous anomaly, and you should be happy, and nothing more, that a business loses money by catering to you. But I digress. The service leaves something to be desired. Quoted times are often off by 10-20 minutes, but that's what you trade for the general amicability of a small stoner staff. Bottom line: if you're up for spending $20 on a pizza, you shouldn't even consider anywhere else.

I don't know why I end up dating girls who can't eat wheat. I love hearty Italian loaves, pizza, and toothsome pasta, but I find myself seeking the oat, sorghum, and rice alternatives so I can enjoy meals with my sweetheart. This limitation has been most frustrating in my quest for decent pizza because gluten's resilient proteins are essential for a firm, supple pizza crust. 'Gourmet' as an adjective doesn't mean too much any more, though I suppose they could fit in under the sister term 'artisanal.' It's not stellar pizza, but for Gluten Free options in the bay area, they practically hold a monopoly. It's not as good (it'll never be as good), but it's an acceptable compromise. We had a mushroom gorgonzola pie and a hawaiian pie. Both were worthwhile attempts at their established genres, though neither was revolutionary or exemplary of the craft. Of course, if I hadn't been eating pizza regularly for the past few years (like the celiacs I went to dinner with), my opinion would probably have been much higher (theirs was). Final Verdict: It's not the best, but if you can't eat wheat then it's better than nothing.

I tried the Gourmet Pizza Company for the first time last night after having lived down the street for 3 years. For a Saturday night, it wasn't very busy but upon seeing all the cars parked outside, I expected it to be packed. I had the Mediterranean pizza and I thought it was excellent. Definitely satisfied my pizza craving! I will definitely return as it is just a quick walk down the street for me.

3.5 stars As a part time carnivore, I'm always looking for more meatless alternatives to foods I love. Pizza is already fairly easy to make vegetarian, but I'm also not adverse to trying things in vegan form when it's easy and tastes good. Gourmet Pizza Co. does a pretty good vegan pizza. It's not the best we've had, but it definitely stands out as one of the better ones. Unfortunately it won't replace a good old fashioned cheesy pizza for me, but it's good enough that I still think I'll crave it later on. My wife and I ordered the large vegan pizza with pineapple and sweet corn (yes corn, it works, I promise) on her half and green olives and green peppers on my half. They did overdo it on the olives a little so it was a bit of a salt bomb, but it made for good drinking food. They also chopped the toppings very loosely, so we got large chunks of everything. Good if you like it that way, but since the pizza was also kind of floppy, it made eating it a little more difficult. We also went to this restaurant with the other reviewer who commented on the breadsticks and Mayan salad (Joe C.) and I do have to agree that both were pretty lackluster. The salad was especially disappointing given the strong vegetarian focus of this restaurant. Fortunately our pizza was good, and I think if you stick to the vegan options you will enjoy this place. If you don't mind a regular pizza, you can probably look elsewhere.

YUMMMMMMM

Support this local business but don't expect to have your socks knocked off.

you know how sometimes your reallh excited for pizza and just cant wait to get it? then you pick it up all hot, get It home, open it up and it looks amazing... it looks so good you just have to take a bite before you get the table set? then you bite into it and it tastes even better then it looks? this is not one of those pizzas. more like dominos on a good day. but now I feel like im insulting dominos. apparently they are the only gluten free pizza place. if u dont need gluten free go somewhere else.

RUN!

So. Damn.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(5)Carly R.
Great little pizza spot in Soho. Interesting selection of specialty pizzas and sauces. Our favorite was the BLT pizza (with balsamic glaze)...delicious! Definitely worth the money and a visit. Offers gluten-free options too.
(4)Samantha B.
I love this spot. The pizza is good, but in my opinion, get a calzone and the 5-cheese ravioli. I dream about the ravioli sometimes, it's that good. And the calzones come with cheesy bread. Definitely a must-try in south tampa.
(5)Seth M.
you know how sometimes your reallh excited for pizza and just cant wait to get it? then you pick it up all hot, get It home, open it up and it looks amazing... it looks so good you just have to take a bite before you get the table set? then you bite into it and it tastes even better then it looks? this is not one of those pizzas. more like dominos on a good day. but now I feel like im insulting dominos. apparently they are the only gluten free pizza place. if u dont need gluten free go somewhere else.
(2)Kerry J.
(3)Karen V.
(4)Saia D.
(5)Tonia C.
(5)Jason K.
(1)Serguei V.
(5)Susan M.
(4)Lisa N.
(4)Cassie P.
(4)Angela S.
(3)Kelly Q.
(5)Melissa M.
(5)Kate E.
(3)Mercy G.
(3)Mel L.
(4)Chachi B.
They Really Rock.Their Gluten Free Classic Combo(Generous serving of Pepperoni, mouth watering sausage. Moist, cooked to perfection.I ask for the Green Peppers to be well cooked. OMG, They Roasted Them. The Aroma is WOW. Mushrooms. Lots of Lactose Free Cheese.Creamy, milky,GUI C(-: fresh marinara sauce. The Crust. Is A+. My husband ordered their Regular Classic Combo. Large of course. No complaints there.Delivery time aprox 30min.YAY:-)
(5)Crystal B.
Yummy! Created our own for a shout out to the good ol days with our good friend & exec chef Darlene - so had a GF ground beef and white onion. Oh my sweet heaven it is so good! And the Thai ginger salad doesn't ever disappoint - great change -plantain chips vs sun chips - Terrific upgrade!! Great job.... Sasha and I are sure to return!!
(4)Sid S.

(4)Yvonne C.
Good pizza, and their plain cheese pizza is soo cheap! Service is horrible though. Calzones are iffy....sometimes they are really good, other times just horrible!!! I guess it depends on who is working. Just not consistent in size either.
(3)Michelle M.
(2)Dave H.
(3)Mary B.
(4)Misty B.
(4)Lizzie L.
I absolutely love this place - It is one of the only places I will order pizza from. Tons of vegan options but I always get the Cheeseless Vegan. (They have vegan cheese as an option as well)
(5)Scott O.
RUN!
(1)Christopher P.
(4)Emily S.
(3)Brad S.
(5)Tommy B.
(4)Roger S.
(4)Tina C.
(2)James H.
well i will say this, it's not the best vegan pizza i have ever had - i just don't think daiys (which they use) makes the best pizza in the world - but it WAS good and the vegan breadsticks were spectacular. i probably should have ordered the pizza without the daiya, but well, i really felt like a full-blown pizza. great selection of gourmet toppings and i really, really appreciate the attention given to vegan diets. i'll be back
(3)Jaima S.
(4)Becki T.
(1)Keith M.
(2)kacey L.
Delish... Fresh flavorful ingredients. Loved the chicken spinach ricotta pizza. I will be back when in Tampa!! Can't wait to try a few new creations. They have a lot to choose from - traditional toppings and unique imaginative toppings alike
(5)Benjamin A.
(1)Anish Z.
(3)Daniel S.
(2)Albert G.
(2)Daniel G.
(2)Mark P.
(3)Siana B.

It was just ok.

(3)Lindsey P.

(5)Saia D.

Yummy! Created our own for a shout out to the good ol days with our good friend & exec chef Darlene - so had a GF ground beef and white onion. Oh my sweet heaven it is so good!
(5)R M.
(4)Anousha H.
(3)Claire K.

(1)Kelleigh M.

(2)Kerry J.

(4)Lisa N.
(4)Karen V.

(4)Yvonne C.
Good pizza, and their plain cheese pizza is soo cheap! Service is horrible though. Calzones are iffy....sometimes they are really good, other times just horrible!!! I guess it depends on who is working. Just not consistent in size either.

(4)Lizzie L.
I absolutely love this place - It is one of the only places I will order pizza from. Tons of vegan options but I always get the Cheeseless Vegan. (They have vegan cheese as an option as well)
(5)Scott O.
RUN!

So. Damn.

(3)Tina C.
(2)James H.
well i will say this, it's not the best vegan pizza i have ever had - i just don't think daiys (which they use) makes the best pizza in the world - but it WAS good and the vegan breadsticks were spectacular. i probably should have ordered the pizza without the daiya, but well, i really felt like a full-blown pizza. great selection of gourmet toppings and i really, really appreciate the attention given to vegan diets. i'll be back
(3)Jaima S.
(4)Becki T.

Been in Tampa a few years now...best pizza I've had in town thus far!
(5)Tommy B.
(4)Keith M.
(2)kacey L.
Delish... Fresh flavorful ingredients. Loved the chicken spinach ricotta pizza. I will be back when in Tampa!! Can't wait to try a few new creations. They have a lot to choose from - traditional toppings and unique imaginative toppings alike
(5)Benjamin A.
(1)Anish Z.
(3)Daniel S.
(2)Albert G.
(2)Daniel G.
(2)Mark P.
(3)Siana B.
I just moved here from LA- and Gourmet was one of the first pizza places we called for delivery. Actually- we first called Westshore pizza- but when they told us they didn't have jalapenos we passed. Gourmet was delicious! We ordered jalapeno with carmelized onions- so good!
