Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat in a restaurant and I'd had this spot on my radar for a while. I was really hungry after getting some fasting blood work done for my doc and decided it was time to check out Ellie's. The restaurant is nestled in an office park but once in the door, it is a warm, inviting space. I arrived on a weekday well after any commuter rush and had my pick of tables. After much pondering, I went with the Veggie omelet, potatoes and toast. The omelet was so huge it barely fit on the plate and included a delicious mix of onions, green peppers and mushrooms. I am not always a fan of American cheese in omelets, but it worked well here with the nice thin eggs and veggies. The potatoes were also quite good - tender but with delicious crispy spots from the griddle. Overall, a nice and satisfying breakfast with tasty food. Not the most amazing breakfast place I've been or even my favorite in Tampa, but a great option and a lovingly run local business.

Over priced not good. Service was horrible. Im adding to thi a review to caviot on what Jeff's experience was with his son. This is an example of my experience with the menu. The menu shows for example blueberry pancakes $5.00. Then they charge you .75 extra for blueberries and an additional for syrup by the way you have to wait 30 minute's for them to remember you need utensils to eat. This is an example of my experience and not the actual menu.

I've lived here for 15 years, in Westwood Lakes and Highland Park and never eaten here. I took my son to the driving range on Saturday morning 2 weeks ago and decided to come in here for breakfast. BIG mistake. No problem getting a table, but that was the last "no problem" I had. First, it took a few minutes to actually get a menu. Then, a drink order was taken. Key word there is TAKEN. Anyone can TAKE the order. They had no problem TAKING the order. It was FILLING the drink order that was a problem. Finally, after 6-8 minutes, my son's water and my coffee arrived. I finally put an order in - my son got eggs & hash browns; I had a spinach and feta omelet with hash browns. 30 minutes later. Yes, 30 minutes later, the food arrived. The couple next to me contemplated leaving, and they got there after we did. I heard them complaining that they had the same problems I did. If I was with my wife, or my older son, I would have left without receiving the food -- leaving a few dollars on the table for coffee and being done with it. But, my son is 7 and it's not as easy to bolt from a restaurant and explain why we're doing it, especially when he's hungry, so we stayed. As noted above, the food did eventually arrive. The hash browns were good, although they charged 30 cents for onions (really? 30 cents for ONIONS? in hash browns? Whatever. It's not the 30 cents that I can't afford, it's the pettiness of it). The spinach and feta omelet had absolutely no feta in it at all. However, what it lacked in feta, it made up for with the worst, previously frozen, bitter, just overall nasty tasting spinach I've ever eaten. Why I thought I was getting fresh spinach is beyond me (perhaps because they charged almost $9 for the omelet). However, this was just absolutely disgusting. I ate the eggs around the spinach and the hash browns and left it. Long story short - if you make me wait a long time for lousy, overpriced food, I won't be back. Now I know why I never came here in the 15 years I lived here. I won't be back.

I love coming here. For 4 years I walk in the door couple of times a month and they bring me a cup of tea without me asking. That is brilliant. The food is good, home cooking fir breakfast with personality. I like to support the restaurant as so many chains are moving into the area. The staff are friendly and efficient and always seem to know if I want to chat or not be disturbed. Keep supporting local businesses, it's important.

Friendly atmosphere, good food at a reasonable price. Not the best location for a restaurant but that shouldn't deter you from going in for brunch or lunch.

Good breakfast and coffee. Wait staff are friendly and efficient. Eggs are cooked perfectly to order. As a traveler, I use Yelp to find the local restaurants and appreciate reading the reviews that other Yelpers write. That's how I found Ellie's. Thanks!

Food is great, good price point. Service was a tad slow but it was very busy when we arrived.

Daughter & I stopped for a quick lunch... The service was old school greasy spoon matter of fact battleaxe style ladies that take no lip.... Gotta luv that in this day and age... The food was as advertised, good hot and delivered very promptly. The service is also genuine and nice, just a little gruff at first. Atmosphere is not why you go here, but the place is clean and tidy... All in all stop in and get some good grub for a reasonable price. Can't really expect more from this kind of place.

This is a small, hole in the wall place, that only the neighborhood regulars know about. It has a homey feel and the servers are very engaging and friendly. The food is great and the menu has plenty to choose from. Better yet, is the price. Very affordable.

If you live out in the Westchase/Oldsmar area and you want to dine at a family-style breakfast joint, you've got three choices--Hennessey's, Eve's and Ellie's. Henn's is the best and cheapest, but a few miles further down the road. I haven't ever been to Eve's, but I drive past Ellie's daily on my way to work in Oldsmar. So one day, the chica and I finally worked up the courage to give it a try. Usually, eating in an industrial park isn't our thing, but oh how looks are deceiving! They served us up some surprisingly decent breakfast. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. We felt like we had been going there for years and we were part of the fam. For two of us to eat, it was about $15 total. That includes two OJs and a coffee. Not a bad deal at all, and right down the street! Pro: They have turkey sausage. Con: The turkey sausage is terrible.

Excellent portions that taste and feel like a perfectly home-cooked meal. Extremely reasonable prices. I definitely wouldn't consider it a "greasy spoon" type of breakfast joint. You'll love the staff and enjoy the food. Guaranteed.

This is a good ol' greasy spoon type of place...they have all the standard breakfast fare including french toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, etc...and for lunch they have sandwiches and some hot items too. I've never eaten lunch from here, but have had breakfast around a dozen times and it's always been pretty good. It's not the best restaurant I've ever been to, but they're not going for that. It does what you'd expect...pretty friendly service, a locally-owned feel, and plenty of seating inside so you can kick back and read the paper with your early breakfast. They have a diner-style bar so you have the option of sitting there as well. They'll deliver if you live/work nearby and the prices are ok; not cheap but not super expensive either. If I'm ordering out for breakfast at work I'll get it from here or the Warehouse Deli down the street. They've been at this location for at least a couple years (maybe longer) so that's something to be said as I've seen at least 2 other places in the same spot before it that didn't last as long. It's not going to wow your socks off, but it will fill your belly. I wish I could go with 3.5 stars, but I'm fine with 4 since they're local and not a franchise.

I've driven past this place for a couple of years now and finally gave it a try. It's a greasy spoon joint and the food was pretty good for what it is. Service was fast and friendly, and the price was great. Would definitely return.

This is my go to place for breakfast and lunch. The food is always good and the servers quick and friendly.

Great food, friendly service. What else can you ask for? I had the French toast and bacon and a side of eggs. Very good. My colleague had the biscuits and gravy. He loved them. And they do not skimp on their portions. I am a breakfast lover and if I'm lucky enough to come back on business at the right time, then I will return.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Deanna and Stacey are horrible, vulgar servers. I heard the use the f-bomb at a table of men, while I was having lunch with my two young children. The food was disappointing to say the least. I will not return to this restaurant, if you can call it that, again. Seriously, these servers were trying to get a guest to sleep with or have sex another employee. Very disturbing the ownership would allow this type of behavior to happen. It is obviously a reflection of the poor ownership

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
