Amazing. Fries, onion rings, burgers, and the Philly are well made delicious eats. The Philly is hand made thin sliced rib eye, onuons, mushrooms and provolone cheese on a hoagie roll. I can not wait to come back to try more.

Well we knew we wanted to stop here for months but don't come out this way often So we find ourselves passing by and must stop We got a Cuban that was great also a chili dog - very tasty - with onions The fry/ onion ring combo was the best we have had since Coney Island! Do not leave without a bag! The cheeseburger was terrific Get the homemade potato salad too! Lots of different types of soda fills the old fashioned cooler We tried the Dogs and Suds root beer Since we ate most of this food- only the Cuban traveled we were too full to try the ice cream - next time we will start with that

Danny's is a a unique dive with a unique menu. If you like dives, this is the place for you. I'm a dive kind of guy, but this place was almost too divy. The menu is unique, and the food is pretty good. I had the triple D burger and it has great potential, but fell a little flat. I felt the burger patty was a little dry, and I didn't care for the pulled pork. I had a bite of a footlong dog, and it was okay. I was guessing this place would have gourmet dogs, but I was wrong. Just a regular hotdog. On a positive note, the whole menu seems to be priced good. The onion rings and fries were really good! There is only outside seating, and tons of flies. Because the tables and booths are always outside, it's nearly impossible to keep them clean. This is a big downfall in my opinion. Also, It's just too hot in the summer to enjoy sitting outside; that one LOUD fan just wasn't enough. Overall, not bad. A classic case of needing a half star to give this place a 3.5 star rating. I came here craving a Cuban, but after seeing pictures of the DDD, I had to try it. So I'll be back soon for that Cuban!

This is a favorite place-- Fieri has never steered me wrong! The Cuban will change your life: crunchy (but not hard) toasted pressed bread, pork and ham that melt in your mouth, and perfect punchy pickles. The Guy Fieri Burger: a burger so amazing they couldn't serve or whole. It's quartered and served in its own box. So. Worth. It. A wonderful stop: no muss, no fuss. Dang good food.

  • Maris D.

Really? The Cuban was like a bad sloppy joe on soggy flavorless bread. The Mac and cheese was a sopping mess of soggy corn starch. The milk shakes only flavor was the chunks of refrigerated flavored frost bite. Guy, huge disappointment. I only give you a second star because the decor is appealing.

Danny's is definitely earns its qualification as a dive on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I wouldn't have tried it without seeing the restaurant on TV and Yelp. However the food was great! I ordered the cheeseburger, bases loaded. That means it comes with mayo, mustard, ketchup, tomato, pickle, onion and lettuce. I had a Danny's combo with a mix of onion rings and fries. You must say Danny's combo to get the free drink (can of soda). The burger was juicy and huge! It wasn't fancy but it was great. The onion rings were very crispy and I will be getting onion rings only next time. I'm very happy to discover a new restaurant for lunch when the options are so limited in the area near my office. Be sure to look at the menu online before visiting because it is hard to see the hanging menu board. There is seating outside only and parking is across the street in a dirt lot.

Why did I wait so long to finally check out this world-famous place and sink my teeth into a signature "Danny Burger?" Danny's only been around for 10 years but, better late than never. This is such a fun spot to visit and a tasty spot to eat. The inside is filled with pennants, pictures and all sorts of Major League Baseball memorabilia that it is well worthwhile to squeeze into the small, standing-room-only space to take a look. Warning: You may emerge still smelling - and smelling of - the tantalizing aroma of freshly grilled beef. Just about any time you go, it will be busy but the orders are taken and filled efficiently, people dining there make quick work of their food once they sit down at one of the outdoor tables and the whole process seems to move along surprisingly well and fairly fast. The menu is lengthy so be prepared. Lots of items are named for pro baseball players and there are specials so enjoy finding famous names and then figuring out the ingredients for each namesake item. Parking is across a fairly busy street so be cautious when crossing. The owner, Danny, is a delightful person who may, if he has time, show you a special map displayed in the back of this landmark dining spot. Each pin on a map of the U.S. and each name penned on the wall signifies where folks come from to check out Danny's All American Diner and Dairy Bar. It has become a favorite spot to stop for visitors from across the country, and around the world, especially since Food Network star Guy Fieri taped a segment there and created an addition to the menu, the Guy Fieri's Triple D Triple Play burger. It's a mouthful that features a burger topped with mojo pork, pastrami, Swiss and American cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, French fried onion rings and mustard on sourdough bread.

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. "Lechoneo Full". I had the Triple D burger (Thank you Fieri) and a shake. It's a burger with pork and pastrami. My buddy had a Round tripper. It's a beef footlong loaded with chilli, onions, cheese and other veggies. He was impressed as well. As a side we ordered onion rings with Ranch dressing. Pretty good as well. The people working there are caring and asked everyone about the quality of the food and our experience. I would definitely return.

I like the feel of Danny's. It reminds me of places you would find in New England. It's a roadside burger joint fashioned with baseball memorabilia. There are picnic tables in the front and back; but there are flies everywhere which kind of ruins the experience. The place gets hyped up because it was featured on Triple D but I don't think the hype is justified. I find the burgers (with baseball-themed names such as the Roberto Clemente) are just average. It also takes a good while to get your food and when you're swatting flies, the wait can be painful. Would I return? Probably not but check it out yourself to see if you agree.

Decent burger, decent onion rings. Nothing to jump up and shout about though. Guy should come back and take the DDD name off the Triple D sandwich as its a mess of $10 buck catastrophe. It was worth saying "been there" but that's about it.

The chili burger is fantastic, they know how to make real hearty chili. I also enjoy the way they make their fries and union rings. I generally limit the amount of red meat in my diet, but when I indulge I make sure it is worth it. Danny's has never disappointed me.

This was my first trip here. I saw it on DDD and wanted to check it out. I loved the little shack feel and the window girl was patient and friendly. I had the impression it had indoor seating, but they don't. It was cloudy and rainy, so it wasn't hot sitting outside. I got the cheeseburger, bases loaded with jalapeños. I love a good burger, but this was just ok. It was a bit dry and the bun was incredibly thick, which isn't my thing. Flavor was good and pickles were tasty. I also got the onion rings, which I loved. My bro got a foot long hotdog, with bacon and shrooms. He's a hotdog snob and he was happy. He actually got two and couldn't eat the 2nd, so he took it home. I would come back and mix it up- I'd like try the Cuban and get ice cream :)

I went to this place because of Guy and the Triple D. The food was pleasantly average. My burger was comparable to a local charbroiled burger place. The onion rings were good. The atmosphere was unkept, unclean and unorganized. The employees were smoking while we were eating. I would not recommend this place to a friend or anyone else for that matter.

Bacon, ranch, and fried green tomato burger! Pretty yummy!! I was very impressed with the novelty of this place. Lots of vintage sodas, customer graffiti, goats in the pasture next door, outdoor retro seating in the back... I wished my burger would have had jalepenos too then it'd be perfect.

  • J D.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised! I had the Triple without mojo pork just because I am not a fan of pork. It was terrific! Excellent flavor and Fresh ingredients! Fries were crispy and greasy which made them awesome. They also had bottled soda like Nehi and RC that is kept super cold. I highly recommend this joint!

DO NOT MAKE A SPECIAL TRIP TO GO HERE First of all this is not a diner. This is a decrepit little shack in the middle of nowhere with two takeout windows and some outdoor picnic tables (in other words, don't even think about eating here in summer). The club sandwich I had was okay, nothing spectacular. Fries were also just okay. Dunno what the hype is about this place. Maybe the burgers? But who trusts eating a burger from a decrepit shack like this? Sounds like a recipe for a bathroom disaster to me.

After watching a marathon of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, we decided to check Danny's out. Yah, I know!!! First impression of the place is that I LOVE how it's a small little dive off the beaten path. You have to park across the street and dart some traffic to get there but it is well worth it. The menu offers a lot of variety from burgers and dogs to Cuban sandwiches and shakes. I decided that since they are known for their burgers I would try the cheeseburger, simple yes, but my thoughts were, if they can't get a cheeseburger right, the rest of the menu probably wouldn't impress me too much either. The hubby got the Cuban that was featured on the show. The burger was large in my opinion and I wasn't even able to finish it, it reminded me of an old fashion style burger, which I love. VERY Juicy. The one thing I would say is that the burger bun is actually too large for the burger, I can maybe see having a bun that big if it was piled high with toppings but even then I wouldn't think the bun would need to be that big. I just peeled off the excess and all was good. Now, for the Cuban, I personally don't care too much for them so I don't consider myself an "expert" but Brian does and generally thinks his Cubans are the best. You know when someone makes that "oh my goodness" face when they try something new? Well he did just that. So of course I had to try a bite. It amused me when I asked Brian his opinion and he actually admitted that this was better than his, which was not easy for him to say I am sure. He even said that he would come back to Danny's every day of the week to get another Cuban. Two thumbs up on the Cuban! We also ordered a large fry which came out in a bag and was plenty to share between two people, we didn't even come near finishing them. I look forward to returning to Danny's to try more menu items, they are also known for their homemade chili sauce for the burgers and hot dogs! Check it out, it's a little bit of a drive if you live in Tampa city limits, but it's worth it, especially if you're around the Fair Grounds or Amp already, make the stop.

I stopped here after reading all the good reviews. I am so glad I did! The fries were crispy and delicious! I also ordered a Cuban Sandwich (for the first time ever) I loved it! It was so, so, so, so GOOD!!! I will be returning there soon, because I just HAVE to try the Triple D burger and chili fries, amongst other things :-)

2nd time visiting and this the me I got the Triple play foot long hotdog which was very good with the right combination of toppings. Chili , onions and cheese. This thing was massive but again very good. I also had the onion rings that were on point. My buddy had the triple D which he said was also good but again massive

  • Cristina T.

It was ok. Didn't live up to the hype. I had the Danny triple d and it was just ok. Nothing special. Onion rings and fries were normal nothing to rave about. Hot dog was undercooked. Milkshake was pretty good. It's a one and done for me.

I will start by saying I am not a hamburger person but my family enjoys them. So we do have to visit hamburger joints pretty regularly and most do offer something yummy for us non red meat eaters but this was average food at best. My family said the hamburger itself was good but messy. Not the best they've had but good. Outside Seating was all they had.

I saw this pop up on my news feed and was really happy to see this place is not only still packed but its been on the food network. Really good burgers with no frills, lol at the people ordering Yacht Club type lunches here.

I discovered Danny's on the way to an out-of-the-way appointment. Had no idea that it was approved by Guy Fieri! Of course, had to go for the hype GF's Triple D Triple Play Burger, the priciest menu item (but economical meal for 2). It is a Dagwood type burger that's 4" high and extra wide. It's cut into quarters and laid down on its side. I think it could vary in quality based on other Yelp! reviews. Here's my first experience: the triple meats are delicious! Good burger meat, mojo pork, & crispy pastrami; not greasy. The toppings/condiments are good, but could use more of everything, especially the jalapeños. Yes, could use another inch of veggies to relieve the massive meat. The winner ingredient is the grilled sourdough bread. It didn't get soggy and kept the entire burger intact. That's an idea I'll steal. The minus 1 star is for the side order of fries & onion rings. They were a bit greasy and just ok. Next time will come back for a yummy handmade milkshake/dessert. Should've went for dessert instead of the side of fries & onion rings, but I was trying to maintain my diet.

Didn't order the Triple D sandwich- but after seeing it, I regret that decision. Luckily, the table next to us saw me ogling their sandwich and gave me half. Shakes were good. Burgers were decent. Overall, enjoyable.

A little bit out of the way but by far the best Cuban sandwich Ive ever had!!! They also have vintage sodas and great ice cream to go with it. I saw other people eating burgers that looked absolutely mouth-watering. I'm definitely going back!

Sought out this place after seeing it on Diners, drive ins and dives. Was not disappointed! Ordered the Nolan Ryan with bases loaded and the OH ordered the Triple D. It was the best burger I have ever had!! It was messy, but so tasty and the chilli cheese fries were pretty fab too.

Guy Fieri lies again ! We've been wanting to try this place for some time after seeing it on DD&D's ! I wanted 5 Guys, but hubby suggested we go here. I agreed. I like little mom & pop places a lot and love to give my money to them to help keep them in business. I will NOT be back ! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion & mayo with fries and a diet coke. 1st no-no was they handed me a can of diet coke. I'm a cup of ice kind of girl with my soda. Hubby had a Hawaiian type burger with the so called fantastic onion rings! Having to sit outside (at least it wasn't too hot today, or we would have had to eat in the car) we walked to the back where there were plenty of picnic tables. We were invited to sit with the couple that had ordered before us and this turned out to be the highlight of our experience at Danny's. This is the worst hamburger I have ever tried to eat. Soooooo over cooked and dry I barely could choke it down. Ya know how you tend to salivate when you see something good to eat? Well my poor mouth couldn't produce enough saliva to choke down the hockey puck that was served to me. The fries were dry and tasteless and the onion rings were rings of batter (I think they forgot the onion). Horrible. Oh yeah, and that can of coke? Well it got warm in no time. Packed everything up and in the garbage can it went. And to make the experience and more bizarre, they had some "Frank Sinatra" knock off guy singing outside. Very strange. He had a great voice but what the hell? If there was anything positive about this experience was that we met a very nice couple and hope to see them again in the future. But I guarantee it won't be here ! I will NEVER believe Guy Fieri again!

The 1st time I went to Danny's, it was packed. There were people all over the place. Unknown to me, Triple D's had just aired the Danny's episode the night before. I ordered the chili burger, which was amazing. The fries were great too. My girlfriend & I are always on a mission for the perfect burger. Based on value & taste, Danny's seemed like a strong contender. The next time I went to Danny's was 4 months later & I was far less impressed than my initial visit. The beef didn't have very much flavor & the bun was soggy. My girlfriend also went on a separate occasion & had a similar experience. I assume Diners, Drive-In, & Dives increased their awareness & they were unable to keep up their original level of quality with the high demand. I hope that is not the case.

Found this place from Guy Fieri Diners, Drive in and Dives. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. It was a quite area, besides it was off a busy road, but other than that the place was amazing. My boyfriend and I had the triple D burger; fantastic!!!! Being a tiny girl I ate three quarters of the burger. I would totally recommend Danny's all American diner & dairy bar.

My entire office orders from this place on a weekly basis. The food here never ceases to amaze me. It's quick, absolutely delicious and the staff is very friendly. No wonder it's been featured on TV! Keep up the great work and delicious food guys!

Everything it could be. Stopped in here with my wife and granddaughter for lunch and really enjoyed ourselves. My wife and I had the Danny Cheeseburger and fries and our granddaughter had the grilled cheese sandwich and chips. It was actually a great burger. The "bases loaded" was all that you wanted on a burger and not overdone like "the more the better rule" applies always which it doesn't. The fries are done in peanut oil and were crisp. Overall, I'd go here instead of one of the gourmet burger places. We sat in the back of the place at the picnic tables. And this past Saturday, a saxophonist was playing along with some blues recordings. It made for a great atmosphere for lunch. Will I go back: yupp...even though it is across town. Definitely a winner in my book.

What a fantastic find. Thank you Guy Fieri! Burgers are generous and tasty! The half fried / half rings were the perfect accompaniment. Wide selection of soft drinks. Chocolate shake was so good

Literally a hole-in-the-wall place...but love LOVE the burger! Recommended on Fieri's DDD so went and tried. Downside, went in June when it was 100 deg and was outside with flies and bugs. Overall, really good burgers and cuban...will def go back!

I love this roadside stop!!! Park across the street and walk on over! I had the Cuban sandwich and tater salad. The Cuban was perfect and huge. Not a big fan of mayo tater salad, prefer mustard based, but still good! Can't wait to come back and try something different!!!

  • Ray A.

Went there for lunch today with a Coworker looking for something different or at least tasty. The service was quick and pleasant. I got the Roberto Clemente burger which is was excited about. That's where my excitement ended. The burger had no flavor which could have been great if seasoned with salt. The burger was just blah I mean frozen Bubba burgers would be better than the patty I ate today. The fries were ok but the onion rings were quite nice. The outside seating and flies to deal with are what they are. The price for a combo is a little pricey but understood with quality ingredients and seasoning. One more thought they have dessert posted on their menu boards but as I was told they don't offer them anymore and the owner won't paint over the offerings. Overall I wanted to love the place where I just kind of like it. Will I go back maybe but I think the Triple D hype is sometimes warranted but most times you feel let down.

This is the epitome of a dive; all the necessary elements rolled into one: Random location with sketchy parking, small and crowded, local and famous paraphernalia, old-school pop, long lines and awesome food. I used to work near Danny's. My co-workers and I ate there often. Our trick? Call ahead and breeze past the 20 people in line and pay inside. THEN, get a bag of old fashion ballpark peanuts for free from the peanut hub. I used to order the Pitcher's mound (bases loaded) or the Rueben (bases loaded!!). The fries were so good and are like the size of 5 guys fries. If you're ever in Tampa, it's worth the trip for lunch for sure.

Do not let the looks of this place deceive you! Danny's is a great spot to grab some lunch! As featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dive's, I ordered the chili cheeseburger. This was a meal outside of what I would normally order! It was amazing, and I would eat it again! You park across the street and order at a window, complete with bottled sodas, and you choose to sit at picnic tables in the front or in the back. They have large fans helping to control the heat! No one was disappointed with our food...four different kinds of burgers and a chicken salad sandwich, chili cheese fries, onion rings, and ice cream! The staff went out of their way to make sure we liked our food and we even got to meet Danny and sign his wall. We will be coming back, that's for sure!

I've been to Danny's a few times and surprisingly haven't reviewed it. Let's remedy that. As many have mentioned, Danny's was featured on Triple D. I'll be honest, if not for that, there's a good chance I may have never found it. It's on Falkenburg between Hillsborough and MLK. I don't venture there often. Parking can be difficult at times. I generally park across the street among the trees instead of near the restaurant. It's shaded and just easier for me to maneuver my truck. I also don't have to dodge people waiting around for their orders. I don't think I've ever been to Danny's when there wasn't a line of people waiting to order. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying be prepared. I was out of there today in about 10-15 min, but I've waited 30-45 before. There are many items with baseball themed names. If you're a fan of baseball (which I'm not) you'll be able to appreciate this. I Can however appreciate great burgers and in that area, Danny's scores a GOAL errr I mean Home Run... I've had the Roberto Clemente, The Triple D special and the Nolan Ryan. The Nolan is my fave to date and just so happens to be the one I had today. It has BBQ sauce and bacon on it... I mean come on, it's tough to go wrong when you add BBQ sauce and delicious bacon to Anything. So the burgers are awesome but so is Danny. I actually met him one day. He came out, said Hi and sincerely thanked me for coming. Now I'm pretty sure (I know) he wasn't coming out just to see me. In fact I think he was just making sure the condiments were full, But it's always nice when a business owner, especially a successful one, lets their customers know they're appreciated.

Wow, Guy Fieri your lead was not as hyped as your show indicated. For a hand crafted burger I expected a bliss of flavor town only to settle for the everyone else burger. That's it.. Nothing special, no seasoning to taste, the chili was (chili burger) flat to taste, pattie was on the dry side. Maybe a off day for Danny's unfortunately that's my take and my other half agrees. A good baseline for a good burger I use starts with In-out burger in Ca. Simple and fresh. Would I eat here again? Most likely not settling for Hardies down the road as an option.

My three go-to items at Danny's are: corned beef reuben, cuban and Presidente, which is a cuban that includes a hamburger patty. I order those three items frequently as I work close by. They are consistently great. The deli sandwiches are also all great; not really anything that stands out from any other good deli, but they are quite large so a good value. Some of the other things that I'm not as much of a fan of include the "Black & Blued" which is your run of the mill blue cheese crumble hamburger. Unfortunately that one was mostly dry, too much bread, not enough blue cheese; meh. I cannot recommend any of the hot sandwiches that involve roast beef, such as the Pitchers Mound. I'm not sure why there's a difference, but the roast beef on the hot sandwiches is not the same as on the deli sandwiches. On the hot, it is a much thicker cut, and fattier, so you often get a huge chunk of roast beef hanging out of your mouth when you try to bite it out of the sandwich and it doesn't break off. The cold deli sandwiches have a great rare roast beef that is easily chewed so no issue there. Non-food related; there is no inside dining. They have enough room for perhaps three people to stand inside waiting and/or ordering, but during busy times, ordering is exclusively outside, so if you go at lunch time, you'll probably be ordering and waiting outside, which is not always the most comfortable thing to be doing in the Florida summer. On really hot days I'd honestly avoid going here because I hate sweating while I stand in lines or wait; outside of lunch rush or in fall/spring, no problem. Parking here is an issue. The three spots in front of the place are randomly opened or closed. So you have to park across the street in the dirt and navigate around people and trees, then dart across a street where the average speed of cars is 45. It's definitely less than an ideal situation that they need to deal with; i.e. expand, add an inside, add a parking lot, or simply move. If it gets much hotter than it was today, I don't think I'll be back until the fall because it was HOT, and there were no seats in the shade to wait for my food to come up. Oh yeah, their a/c vents are covered in mold... but the food is so good lol.

It's a great thing to work down the street from Dannys. Dannys makes some great burgers with lots of variations. The whole place is baseball themed and most of the menu is named after baseball terminology. Every week they feature a different "Weekly Special" burger on their website. I check it every Monday, my favorites so far are "The Youk" and "The Black & Blue Burger". It's a small shack on the side of Falkenburg road with outdoor seating and parking across the street. Most of the times you can see and meet Danny himself behind the counter working the grill. He's a super friendly guy. Everyone that works there seems to be IMO. They've also won numerous People's Choice Awards at some of the recent Burger Showdowns in downtown Tampa. If you don't call ahead you will be waiting in line outside ordering through the walk up window. I've always called in my order ahead of time and walked past the line, into the building to pay for and pickup my to go order. I repeat, CALL AHEAD if you don't want to wait in line. They also make a killer pressed Cuban Sandwich and some crazy good hotdogs/chili dogs. Stop in and try something new every time. Introduce yourself to Danny and shake his hand.

It was my first time. I brought a friend, she looked at the Danny's and asked if I was serious. Yes. Very serious. After a 40 minute drive from South Tampa, I had my own doubts. I heard good things, and they were on point. The set up of the place makes it look like a slightly questionable place to get food. You order from a window. There is no inside seating. A couple tables in the front, picnic tables in the back, on the dirt. I ordered common burger and fries, coca-cola in a glass bottle. As expected, they had your common sandwiches (Philly, Reuben, etc.) , couple hot dogs, large selection of fountain and bottled pop, locally made ice cream. It may be my hangover at the time speaking but the burger was definitely one of the best I've had.It was big, and messy, and juicy. The fries were perfectly greasy. There was some live entertainment (guy with accordion taking requests). Overall fantastic experience. Definitely worth the trip.

While driving back from Orlando, I decided to look to see which places I had bookmarked. Danny's popped up so I decided to stop by. After all, it's Memorial Day weekend so a great grilled burger seemed fitting. This little dive was great and packed at 1145! After perusing the menu I decided upon the Clemente. A Swiss burger with grilled onions served on Cuban bread? Yes please. The burger hit the spot and required lots of napkins (IMHO the sign of a great juicy burger). I'd def go back when in the area.

Pretty solid. Like many, heard about this place on Triple D and let's face it, we all need to ingest a healthy amount of grease from time to time. Went with the Home Run Chili Cheeseburger and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic, hot and greasy and they didn't fall apart when I took a bite. They tasted great in the chili from the burger. As for the burger itself, quite good. I added jalapenos and that was a nice touch. The chili is right up there with my mom's - and that's high praise. The burger itself was tasty and greasy (notice a pattern?) - just the kind you want. I had delusions of eating it with my hands but those were quickly dispelled after I got it. Definitely a fork-and-knife burger. I'll definitely be back - I want to try the Clemente as my decision came down to the wire. Danny's doesn't seem to be hurting so I should have plenty of time for a return trip.

I am so done with Guy Fierta, Fiero or whatever his name is. That S.O.B. has lied to us twice.....no more. I've gone from heaven to hell in 12 hours....what a difference a day makes indeed. Wife and I lunched at Danny's saturday. I ordered off the special board, one of my top burgers, the teriyaki burger with onion rings. Red Robin's Banzai version is one of my top 3 burgers ever, Danny's version is another matter. Also heard the onion rings here were to die for. Should be more like eat four and you'll die but I'm getting ahead. Wife ordered a plain ole bacon cheeseburger with fries. We intended to share the fries and rings. An important word of caution here.....be aware that the rings and fries ordered with the combo is a half order, not a full order so don't expect to be awash in a sea of fries a la five guys unless you order your fries or rings as a separate order. And.....pssst, whisper...they're nowhere as good as the 5 hombres. You have to sit outside, thank god it hadn't reached nuclear fusion temps outside yet. We were invited to sit with another couple our age. I am extremely grateful to Pam and Dave for inviting us....meeting them made it worth it. Anyway....they bring your food to you, didn't take very long at all. I took just one bite of my burger to know that hey, you thought you were having off the hook food but in reality you're on Candid Camera. My burger came with the requisite pineapple slice but it also had about 3 slices of ham and barely a trace of teriyaki sauce. The patty was so over cooked and dry that the beef must have been raised in the desert...no moisture. The fries were meh, the kind that are battered and the O-Rings....I though I had an onion end, biting into it I was expecting onion goodness. Turned out there was no onion in it, it was a circle of batter/cornmeal. Biting into this was like biting into an old vacuum cleaner dust collection bag. Back to the burger....that got so bad I took the ham out so hopefully I would taste my Bedouin burger...no luck so I did what every red blooded American boy would do, I doused the little monster in ketchup and choked it down, a Heinz sundae. And am I glad we got the combos, We got a can each of Diet Coke, no ice, no glass, had to ask for a straw. Awesome huh? Never again will Guys siren's song lure me into a loser place, no way and I'm not watching Triple D anymore either.

good not great and highly overrated but being the only food dive in the area for miles I can see the popularity

Not quite sure I get what the hype is. Average burger. Average fries. Maybe its the chili and milkshakes. It can't be the burgers that earned this rating.

Great food at a great price. After a delicious burger you can treat yourself to a very good milk shake.

Went there with my wife. We stopped by and chatted with the staff. They were full of stories and made it a delight to visit. Then they brought our burgers. Not a word was spoken. I looked up from my burger a half hour later, licked my lips, patted my belly and said, "WOW"! Went back again a few weeks later......just as good, this time had live blues music! Seriously great place!

Underwhelming. I'm not sure when "messy" became an acceptable substitute for making food that actually tastes good. I don't mind getting messy for good food but just because something requires a lot of napkins doesn't mean it tastes good. There's really nothing worse than putting in a lot of effort for food that's only somewhat decent. I had the Reuben and am generally a big fan of the sandwich that is fairly simple but, in my opinion, very distinct. A good Reuben is defined by good sauerkraut. This one had very little and what was there was clearly pre-made, bland stuff. It was soaked in Thousand Island, which in no way makes it "good". Simple sandwich, simple ingredients. I never understand places that put it on the menu when they have no intention of putting a little effort into something so simple and classic. Do it well or not at all. My husband said the burger tasted like it had been unseasoned. Very bland. He also thought it was a little cheap, as the meat was pretty tough. He took the buns off because they contributed nothing to the sandwich. Bummer. I got a chocolate shake so thick I had to eat it with a spoon. If I had wanted to do that, I would have ordered a scoop of ice cream instead of a shake. They also messed up our order, so we had additional chips and fries. We gave them to the guys at the table next to us; which was the only perk of the visit, I didn't have to feel guilty about throwing away food.

I think I will have to give this place another try. I ordered their famous Triple D burger and onion rings. I loved the rings but the burger didn't have allot of taste. I really really wanted to love this place, but my experience wasn't what I expected

Fun little roadside eatery Good food good prices. Outdoor seating only had the chili dog hubby always gets the burger. During the week they have a good prime rib sandwich on special.

Been here several times, love the atmosphere. Basically a large trailer, don't even go or sit inside, but they do have a few tables in the front. They also have outside seating in the back right under some ancient trees, perfect shade, perfect for enjoying great food. We love the Cuban of course, delicious pork with ham with fresh veggies, especially tomato, just amazing! though a little messy. But what is a good sandwich without a mess, am I right? (Lettuce and tomato are add ons, that's what makes the mess, but don't have to have it like that) The burgers are great as well, tried triple D, babe Ruth, just my taste so far. And hotdogs are very tasty, had better, but still good, love how they cook them. Also they do a great job with chili, really yummy. Also tried the potato salad, do recommend it. Definitely a dive, but worth it

Had lunch there the other day. Never knew this gem existed. Food was great, service was quick, and the Cool Mountain sodas we're the icing on the cake. The French dip burger is delicious!!

It was pretty good but I was expecting more from this Dive. The portions are large so split it. But seriously, it's just a solid sandwich shack...nothing really awesome. The glass bottled sodas are always a treat.

My wife and I have been to Dannys twice. Last time was about six months ago. Like a lot of ppl we saw the DDD show. This is exactly the kind of place we want to support. On our first visit my wife got the Cuban sandwich and I got a burger. Both were average. Our second visit was one of those "let's give it another chance" spur of the moment things. We decided to order something we would wouldn't order anywhere else. ..the chiliburger. We parked across the street with high hopes. We really really want to like this place. We borh ordered the chiliburger with extra mustard and sat at the table sipping our cans of coke knowing we were about to experience something over the top. They called our number and we took our containers to the table. We opened them and looked at each other . From that moment forward it was an exercise in conformity. We were both staring in our own styrofoam container with a burger sitting in a half inch of slightly brown water with chunks of what looked like canned stewed tomatoes and browned ground beef sitting on top of the burger. Onion pieces were floating beside the bun. *side note..instead of going thru the descriptive shock let me just say...it was what chili looks like after it's cooked for less than 30 mins ...and either WAY too much water has been added or it hasn't had any time to reduce We ate what we could still trying to make sense of what we were experiencing and then started to laugh realising that it's all bs. It's just hype. We're obviously looking at something we'd send back anywhere else but because it was on DDD and we WANT it to be something different we're gonna try to trick ourselves into falling into line. To be fair Danny wasn't in the kitchen either time. I'm sure he wouldn't have served it. Chili on a burger like on a hotdog should be thick so that it doesn't liquify the bun. Everyone knows that. There should be no standing semi clear liquid. The things he made on that show I'm sure thousands of ppl have experienced. Someday I hope to. I'm writing this review for the ppl who experienced what we did ..and because the reviews are high enough that this review won't matter. I'm stating honestly that it was six months ago because it may not in any way reflect on the current staff at Dannys. I'm giving Dannys 3*s instead of 1 or 2 because we need a place like we saw tv.

Why 4 stars? Because this is a throw-back not to miss! --- --- --- I always enjoy time travel, and I especially love it when my vessel is Danny's. Whether it's the old-fashioned burgers, the unique sodas, the blue bell ice cream shakes or just the building itself - Danny's is the sheer definition of old school. A spot on DDD is never bad for popularity, and Danny's has obviously reaped the benefits of that. My visit during lunch-time was a longer wait than I expected, but nothing awful. During my wait, I was able to watch the entire DDD segment at least three times that they have running on loop. I'd suggest they invest in a new DVD or DVD player, as the current one is thoroughly warn out.

After going to Danny's All American, I've come to the conclusion, we need more Danny's of the world, he really appreciates his customers. We need more piped in rock n roll music, although the Jennifer Lopez' of the world would not understand, Aerosmith would. And, we need more exclusive outdoor restaurants, eating under a tree is primal and primal is good. This in itself doesn't sum up Danny's All American, but I feel he and his business are the antithesis of what is good about America, baseball and roadside dives, especially road side dives that make you feel so welcome. You don't find that at a Burger King, a Chase Bank or a Hyatt Resort. It is places like this that you will find good service, good value, and honest hard work. That's what once baseball was about, at least when I was a kid. Hank Aaron, Wade Bogg's and Billy Martin all had a different style, but all made you love the American Way. I feel this when I walk up to order, it's as if nothing has changed in 40 years, and I would ride my bike to the local hamburger stand, to order a pizza burger from Mr. Goldstien (true). The restaurant itself is nothing more then a kitchen with tons of baseball memorabilia in, but where's Wade Boggs, he lives close by! Come on give a fella a break! This little historic shire for the boy's of summer is not overshadowed, but almost by Danny's newest found friend Guy Fiere. There was a time when I didn't care to much for him until the day when I met him. He like the Danny of Danny's All American, they both have a larger then life personality' Guy's luck fell upon him through a celebrity whirl wind and then his bombastic personality took over. Danny's luck came via one special customer who wrote an e-mail to the producers of Diners Dine In's and Dives. And, the next thing they say was history. When I drove up to Tampa from Miami, I told my friend who lives here, lets go there. As a fellow Yelper and following the Yelper's code of "why the fu@# not" ethics, we went. There was an immediate love at first site. Everyone was nice, super helpful and the ordering experience was a great one. I ordered the "Triple D", yes it was good, all the flavors were there, and surprisingly it wasn't to sloppy. Have I had better burgers, yeah, but the Triple D did have an interesting combo of Pastrami, Pork and the Beef, it actually went well together. I wish his place was closer to where I live, so I could be a regular, but alas, I'll just love that place from afar! So place your order outside, sit under at our favorite tree and listen to Jeff Beck or AC/DC and no there won't be any J-Lo's or Marc Anthony's or Jay Z's even Ice T's to ruin your burger experience. And, what idiot would want to hold the monicker Jay Zee or Ice T, our society will fail so burger up!

I had great hopes for this place and had desperately been wanting a "REAL" burger for a while. Although the double cheese burger I ordered was large it was nothing special. The meat tasted run of the mill cheap and I don't think there was any seasoning at all on it. The bun was old and stale and I ended up pulling it off because I just couldn't get it down. Ordered onion rings hoping for something really great but they were just the normal frozen food service onion rings that you can buy in a bag from Sysco. Overall it was a huge let down, I've had better burgers just about everywhere plus it was 12 bucks just for a simple combo with a can of coke.

Great food and super friendly service make Danny's a winner! We saw them on a recent episode of Triple D and were in Tampa for Christmas so we had to stop in. I'm glad we did. First, the food: My wife had the Home Run chili cheese burger. It was a perfectly cooked patty with chili, Swiss cheese onions and jalapeños. Very tasty. I had The Cuban sandwich Danny style. It was excellent. The bread was fresh and the sandwich was enormous. I really enjoyed it. My dad had the round tripper. A half pound hot dog with Chili, cheddar and raw onions. Now, my dad loves a dog but, couldn't even eat half of it. It was that big. I'm sure it is destined to be lunch tomorrow Danny and his son stopped by to chat. We spent at least ten minutes talking about our time in the Marine Corps (Danny served four years in the Corps and I'm a retired Marine). We also talked about his experience on Triple D and what it's meant for his business. He is a genuinely nice guy who really cares about his customers. This influence carries over to his staff. Every team member we encountered was helpful and pleasant. Stop by and check this place out. You'll be happy you did. Semper-Fi

I've lived in the Tampa Bay area for over 10 years and I just now tried Danny's. Wow...what a place. The food here is pretty amazing. The onion rings are a MUST order. I had just a plain Danny burger with onion - Awesome. The pick of bottles of soda is unmatched here. Wow! Mexicoke, Ale1, Ginger Beer, Vernors, etc... Come here...eat...enjoy the people watching!

It's small and quaint and the food is quite tasty. They have some fabulous sandwich options and above average fries. Seating is all outdoors, so expect more of a rustic, walk-up-and-order type of experience. Try some of the random sodas in the cooler outside. Many of them seem to be from boutique producers.

JUST GO! The portions are huge but absolutely amazing! The Cuban was great and the Triple D Triple Play was meat on meat to the point where I could barely open my mouth enough to take a bite! Great food great service. This is definitely a dive so be ready to sit outside on picnic tables or take it Togo. :)

I'm a BIG fan of the Food Network...so when I saw this little hole in the wall eatery in Brandon on the Food Network show " Diners, Drive In's & Dives"..I had to go check it out...Wow!!!!!! The food is made with alot of love...My husband & I met the owner & she came out and talked to us...The pulled pork hoagie is awesome...hope the locals will keep this place going...its not fancy..and may look like a "Dive" to some...but don't be too judgmental folks...this place has some Good Eats!

Last week a friend told me that Guy Fieri recently grabbed lunch at Danny's All-American Diner, which is literally a two minute drive from my office. Several of us decided to check it out today and were very impressed. As you can see from the pictures I uploaded, the outside of this place is pretty rough. Lacking a website or any sort of impressive road sign, I suppose that word-of-mouth is about the only way Danny's picks up new customers. This place is definitely AMERICAN. Wow. LOVE IT. A baseball-themed menu? I am not sure whether I've ever been to a more patriotic restaurant. There is a nice big American flag waving out front... and the interior is covered with red, white, and blue and tons of baseball memorabilia. Including an impressive collection of bobble heads. Score! You can order from the window outside or you can go inside to order at the counter. There isn't any indoor seating, so you need to wait at the tables outside until your name is called. When you hear your name, you go up to another window and a big guy hands you a brown paper bag containing one of the best cheeseburgers in the world. Five Guys or Red Robin serve some great burgers, and I think that Danny's hangs right in there with them--maybe even beats them. The burgers at Danny's aren't too greasy, which is a major plus in my book. I can't stand it when burgers are so greasy that they almost slip out of my hands. Gross. Surprisingly, the buns at Danny's actually taste relatively healthy (emphasis: relatively). I also love the fact that the burgers are hand-pattied. They remind me of the amazing burgers my dad grills back home. And the third reason I give the burgers such high marks: the price is right. Way cheaper than Five Guys or Red Robin. Danny's also prides itself in chili. I ordered a small side of chili just so I could give it a try. AMAZING. It wasn't whimpy chili that skimps on meat and tomatoes. No way. The chili was full of giant chunks of burger and fresh tomatoes. Yum. This place is great. I'll definitely be returning soon!

Yay! Im a Fan. No frills, just Superior Mouthwatering finger licking burgers and sandwiches. If you blink you'll miss Danny's, if you let your nose smell out the mojo pork or the pastrami or the burgers being served up, you will discover happiness. Go for the ever so good Cuban or for tasting the variety try the Triple D Triple Play -- burger, pastrami, mojo pork with jalapeño and cheese made famous by Guy Fiery's featurette of Danny's on Diners Drive-In & Dive For the chicken lovers there's the Fowl Burger. There's also all American hot dogs. Order of the cheesy fries is a must. The milk shakes are made to order and are decent. Danny's is much ado about old fashioned. From walk up window for ordering to painted picnic benches, complete with self serve drink chillers stocked with non-generic variety of sodas. Danny's All American is truly a quintessential roadside feel good experience.

A great place to stop. I stopped for lunch. Parking is across the street, it looks a bit scary. However when you cross the street and look at the menu you will get excited. Sure it has the Triple -D recommendstions but a seasoned palate can make their own decisions. They serve sioux city Soda. Love the Birch Root Beer!

I have never had a meal here I didn't like. The chili cheese fries are awesome especially if you add jalapeños. The Cuban, the grilled cheese, burgers, the club sandwich, Reuben, the salads. All great. We've stood in line in the rain because it's worth it.

Visited for lunch today. Wife and I shared a Cuban sandwich and the triple d triple play burger. Both were amazing. The Cuban was comparable to that of Liborio's Latin cafe. The sour orange mojo pork they use on both sandwiches add a nice local flavor.

The Food Network brings in allot of visitors, and it is worth stopping by atleast once if you are in the area. Don't miss it, if you are in the mood for a burger, and you have never tried this place before. I recommend going for the Guy Fierrie's Triple D.

  • Sara I.

We wanted an awesome lunch after going to the Tampa Zoo, and we googled and found Danny's diner. This place puts a ton of pride in being on Triple D, and even have a burger named after Guy Fieri's show. He wasn't lying. The place is killer, really small, and definitely no bullshit. Mike got the Triple D burger, which had a burger patty, cheese, pastrami, shredded pork, a special sauce, all on some buttered rye toast. He absolutely adored it. Finished the whole thing, and I was able to sneak a bite. It was really flavorful. I can't explain it, it's worth trying. I got a triple dog which was a traditional hot dog topped with chili, cheese, and raw onion. Yum. The chili was meaty, chunky, full of flavor, spices, and the raw onion went perfectly with it. I didn't think it'd be enough food for my super pregnant self, but when I lifted it up, it felt like it weighed a pound lol. The vanilla milkshake was good, not too sweet, and perfectly smooth, and they had an epic selection of root beers. We tried the cool mountain root beer, which by itself was amazing, and later we poured it into the end of our milkshake, and made a yummy float. The parking is confusing, it's across the street, but the staff was so friendly, Really just patient, amazing people. There's not much seating so I could imagine if it gets packed, it's crazy, but overall, really awesome classic food that will put a smile on your face!

After having been on my radar for years, thanks to Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, we made the short drive today for lunch. It was a solid C- at best. The place is funky and fun, with outdoor only seating (there are fans to help with the heat and humidity) and we were serenaded by a Frank Sinatra type live singer, which was unexpected and really fun (and he was pretty good too! ) But the food was pretty awful. The burgers that my seat mates had were shaped like hockey pucks, over cooked and very dry. The roll fell apart and was dry as well. My hot dog was a water dog, and the roll was soggy (no one drained the dog first.) The serious let down were the onion rings, one of their signature dishes. No flavor, no seasoning, and just very greasy. Sometimes the hype, crowds, publicity, and demand that come from being featured on a TV show, are just too much for a small enterprise. This is one of those times.

I can't wait to go back! I had the pork mojo sandwich which filled me up beyond belief. Pork was juicy and flavorful. Mojo did not taste sour or out of the bottle. Onions were delicious and i rarely eat mayonaise but I could not argue with it on this sandwich. As if that were not enough the spot is a true original. Decor is baseball memorabilia collected with lifetimes of stories. Danny's wife is a real charmer, they have a gem of a restaurant.

Great sandwich, burger joint. Fries average, onion rings excellent. Try the Triple D if you want the monster. Great selection of bottled sodas. A must try if you are looking for a burger that's more than an average greasy burger..not a place to eat at three times a week unless you have a death wish.

Aside from not offering breakfast on the weekends and closing super early...the food is great!! I've had one of everything, and it's delicious every time. I wish they would expand a little bit. Sitting outside in the blazing sun and smelling exhaust from the passing cars does not make it a great dining experience. I will always get mine to go.

The food was amazing. The mojo pork sandwich was full of flavor. The menu says Cuban sandwich but it's not a Cuban sandwich. It was still good. Husband ordered a BBQ burger it didn't have enough BBQ for him but he still loved it.

  • Sarah C.

Food was good! This is just a small place with no indoor seating. The temp outside was 86* and they had a lot of fans so we didn't sweat at all. If it was hotter outside then it probably would have been uncomfortable. We were asked by several different employees how our food was and was asked if we needed anything. We will definitely go again!

Okay...my husband and I just got done eating here with our two girls and are definitely satisfied...if not stuffed. We came here after seeing it on the flavortown map, and since we were in the area, we thought we'd stop in and try it. We are glad we did! We had the Triple D burger, and the Cuban sandwich Danny style and chili cheese fries. It is probably the best burger I've ever eaten with some of the mojo pork on top of a burger patty with cheese and tomatoes and onion rings, and the sandwich was great too--how can you go wrong with the capiccola, ham, and cheese and Genoa salami (not sure if I got it perfect, but it is soooooooooo good....look it up on his online menu). Guy's burger was cut into 1/4ths, making it easy to share and the Cuban was cut in 1/2 too. The combination of meats and breads were a hit, and the jalepenos weren't too spicy or overbearing. The chili cheese fries were eat-with-a-fork sloppy, but very flavorful and yummy. My oldest daughter had a regular cheese burger...it was demolished in a few minutes, and my youngest daughter (4) had a Virginia ham sandwich on white bread...it was stacked high and she couldn't finish even 1/2 of it. Dessert was 2 ice cream cones...cookies and cream and chocolate...once again...great! As we were getting ready to go, Danny himself even came out to visit...his wife had been out earlier...it was a great time topped off by off the hook food (sorry Guy). :) BEWARE...OUTSIDE SEATING ONLY! !!

We were visiting friends near Tampa so we decided to check out something we knew would be good so we looked at triple d for a suggestion. Danny's was a good choice, the burger was juicy and flavorful but I was a little let down by the chili. Tasted better as a condiment on my French fries. The "change up" was a bit bland but the bread was awesome. I would definitely go back for a delicious burger and try some of the other stuff but we arrived at 5:30 and they closed at 6.

We've been here a lot! We love the food, our kids love love the milk shakes, and it seems like everyone loves the atmosphere. In fact, when we have out-of-towners visit, we take them to Danny's just for the experience! The outdoor seating isn't the best in the summertime due to the heat, but the quality of the food definitely makes up for it. What makes me give the place 5 stars is I can taste the "made in house" in just about everything. My personal favorites are the Nolan Ryan Burger, the Chili / Cheese Fries, and the Pork Mojo sandwich on cuban bread. In fact my most traumatic moments are when they are out of the Pork! I've just never had a bad meal here. And while I wish the location and parking was better...I'll take what Danny's has any day!

Danny's is a local diner that has the charm of a family business. The atmosphere is super casual. Go inside to the tiny area to place an order, but best best is to head to the window on the right side. Burgers, hot dogs and cubans are the mainstay. I had the Cuban sandwich. The bread was perfect, the meats were plentiful and was quite tasty. Fries were good and actually came in a bag...far bigger portion than I expected. Best to come hungry and plan to sit out back on a Saturday to enjoy the great Tampa weather and the local band that is playing. It took longer than I expected to get my order, but no worries...I ran into friends and we chatted. May have to get up early one day to try their breakfast.

Oh gosh. When I have my cheat day, I absolutely love the triple d. Danny is a really nice guy too. The only downfall would be waiting a long time for food. Tip: Study a little bit about baseball before you go. Baseball is my favorite sport behind curling and paint drying. Don't ask for the roger clemento burger.

I'll always try a place featured on DDD if I have the opportunity, so I did so recently as I was driving through Tampa with my family. I was joined by a couple good friends who I made drive across Tampa in rush hour to try it out as well. I'm fine with the tiny building, limited seating, run down type of place. It's how the good ol' burger joints/diners are. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my primary meal. After watching the DDD episode, I had to try the chili cheese burger and onion rings. The positive, the onion rings were awesome and some of the best I've ever had. The burger though, average may be generous. The chili was simply bad. That was the famous chili? The flavor was just weird and not all that appetizing. I guess it masked what I would consider a not so good burger. I've had plenty of old fashioned burger points and this was likey the worst. A friend who had a regular burger said the same. The double dog (chili and cheese) was just ok as well, as my wife didn't like the chili either (nor the other friend who joined us), so we three were all in agreement about that. The fries were nicely cooked, but seemed to lack some flavor and definitely required a heavy dose of salt. The last food item was the Cuban Giants favorite. 5:30 is early for me to eat, so I got this to-go so I could try one other item off the menu. Even cold later that night, it was awesome. A nice flavor to the mojo pork and very generous with perfectly grilled onions (actually they were carmalized, not grilled). The staff was very friendly. In any case, if you're a fan of DDD, don't always believe Guy when he tells them how amazingly awesome their food is and he's gushing all over it. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to get a burger from here.

this is my second review. of Danny's on my first review i was not aware that this place had been on Diner's Drive in's and Dive's and i stand by my first review of what we ate. however i recently saw the episode of DDD that Danny's was featured in and they highlighted the Cuban sandwich. so i had to go back while at the DMV to try the Cuban, it was very good. i would definitely go back and have the Cuban again, as far as the other food my first review still stands.

Perhaps a little lower rating than most reviews, but please read on. I had a Babe Ruth, bases loaded no mustard...onion rings and a Pepsi. The onion rings were the best I've had in recent memory...and they were not stingy. At the end of the day it is just a deep fried onion in batter, but it was nice to have more than enough of this tasty treat. Many states require that food vendors cook meat to a temperate to ensure it kills certain concerns. I do not know if FL is such a state, but when I order a hamburger and they don't ask how I would like it cooked, I always assume that requirement is in effect and I'll be served a medium-well burger. Unfortunately this is not my preference and causes me to rate lower than some others might. The burger was certainly made with fine ingredients, care and attention to detail. The mushrooms, cheese, etc. were all just as they should be and the freshness was undeniable. The burger had depth and weight, and was clearly made by hand. I'm also not a fan of the classic grill top burger which this was. I think I walk away with, if you like a flat top medium to well burger this place will blow you away. If you are a bit more high-brow on your burger you may be left wanting some changes. The staff asked me how my burger was as I chomped out at the table, and this always makes me like a place. They seemed to honestly care. At times I wish you could rate the experience outside the actual food on Yelp, because they are often very different ratings. Would I go back to this road side stop? ... I'd contemplate it. Given the choice of this place or a Fuddruckers ... honestly the chain would win. BK or McD's? ... no contest ... I like real burgers and Danny's wins hands down. I think today the closest comparison is Five Guys and I'm not sure which I favor. Without overthinking it I'd say 5G. $11 for my order isn't unreasonable, yet it isn't 'cheap' in my view. Had I not have absolutely loved the O-rings, I'd have likely been more critical. All-in-all I'm glad I tried it albeit off the beaten path.

I have a good friend who has been eating here since before Triple D and he has been telling me to go here the whole time, so I finally went with him. It's a bit out of the way for me, but it was definitely worth the drive. Although Danny wasn't there, the burger lived up to its reputation. I ordered the Roberto Clemente and it will be tough to try and order something else next time as I want another one of these already. It's a burger with grilled onions and swiss cheese on real Cuban bread. The prices were great and the cooler full of throwback sodas, including my favorite Cheerwine, is awesome. The fries didn't appear to be homemade and the onion rings were a bit greasy, but the flavor and juiciness of that burger made the whole experience worthwhile. The sound of Guy's voice from Triple D playing in the background became annoyingly redundant after the 3rd or 4th time of hearing the same looped segment, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter because it's all about the burgers.

This is an experience and is a 3.5 star event so far. Onion rings were great but the burger was overcooked and a bit dry. i'll give it another try though.

The place was tiny..but super clean and inviting.I love the way it looks,The lettering of the menus displayed allover look is super cool. I had to order off menu, which caused a Lil grumblings, but you can tell they love food and care about quality.because my Lettuce,Tomato Onion,Pickle sandwhich was really good. With quality produce. The carnivores in family had a hambuger, hotdog. They said it was super yummy. They also offer an extensive array of bottled drinks..Vernors,Rc, Ale 8..drinks you cant just cant get anywhere. But it would be nice if they recycled all that glass..

I decided to try Danny's after watching it on Triple D, of course. All American Burger was huge, juicy and everything a burger should be. I wasn't too happy with the fries, they were extremely busy so maybe they were a little undercooked. Owner is friendly, inviting guy. A+ Burger. Definately try it!

Food is mostly American w/ lots of meats, onions and a touch of BBQ. Had a burger, fries (make sure to order, they don't come with) and a Mexican Coke. Great lunch for a walk from the nearby Hilton. Danny's gives you a small rural community feel. The people are nice, welcoming and completely helpful. Take a seat in the back and hopefully watch one of their regular bands while you eat on picnic tables in the shade.

Driving up to this place you will want to just drive past and leave, but DON'T. You order at the window and sit outside. Onion rings are the best i have ever had. Burgers are good, very tasty. Also got a milk shake and it was good. I'm excited to go back and to try other things. Great place!

When I first drove up to Danny's after seeing it on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, I thought... really? This is it? But boy was I in for a surprise! I went during my lunch hour and even though I waited over 30 minutes for my lunch, it was well worth it. I had the Triple D Burger and it was one if not the best burger I have had in my life. I would just advise to call ahead and order, since there is no inside seating and the wait time was a bit long. Also, there is extra seating towards the back of the building.

Great burgers for lunch. If you have been before and know what you want call the order in ahead of time. The Nolan Ryan with jalapenos is awesome. Not just the norm when it comes to drinks, definitely something special. Try it out for yourself, you will be glad that you did.

Just because you make a sandwich in Cuban bread doesn't make it a real Cuban. So you know a true Cuban sandwich is not made with pulled pork, lettuce, capicola and salami. Don't deceive the customers call it what it is "pulled pork sandwich"

Burgers are decent, terrible atmosphere no room to sit except outside in the terrible Florida. Their "famous" chili is bland and tastes of only one flavor. The walls are cluttered with dusty out dated material. The food is very overpriced and the pathetic owner is gonna ride the diners drive in's and dives episode until their is nothing left.

Was staying at a Hilton Garden around the corner when I drove by this place. Honestly, it was dark and I thought it was a junk yard. The next day, an in-law told me about this amazing dive joint we had to go to for lunch...you do the math. Had a swiss cheese burger with mushrooms, cheese steak, cuban sandwich (Danny Style), pastrami on rye, corned beef on rye (couldn't really tell the difference), onion rings (really fresh and tasty...and greasy), and cheese fries (delicious, but next time I'll do the cheese on the side). Easy highlight was the Cuban. Great bread, delicious pork, ham, cheese with the right amount of crispiness. Bottom line: This is supposed to be an amazing burger joint. I didn't really see as amazing, but the Cuban was pretty amazing, as were the greasy onion rings. Share some of the arterial calcification with your favorite friends, and wash it down with some Plavix or Cumadin. Deelishush!

There is a reason Danny's was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. It's not the fancy seats (picnic tables & plastic outdoor chairs), the elegant décor (it is a roadside diner, reminiscent of Dairy Queen - chipping paint and all), or the expensive artwork (sports memorabilia including plastic baseball bats). IT'S THE FOOD!!! Just good solid simple food that is scrumptious. Yes, grease is included - but TASTY grease. So I was in Tampa for four days and ate there three of them. The only reason it wasn't four out of four, is that I didn't find them till day 2. I had the Guy Triple Play with onion rings, the Mojo with a side of chili cheese fries, and the hot dog with a cup of chili. I can recommend all three and you will not be disappointed. However, if you are only there for one day, I suggest the Guy Triple Play and chili. But be forewarned, come hungry!

Love the food... service has begun to go down-hill a bit... I try to stop at Danny's on my way from Naples to Jacksonville, where I go quite often. I LOVE the Cuban Danny Style. It's my favorite thing on the menu. Today, after moving into a new home, I was heading to Jacksonville, as a stop over to go to Virginia and get yet more stuff for the house. I had planned to go to Danny's and get that Cuban sandwich. I was thinking of it all day, and left the house for Tampa in time to make it to the diner by closing. I called to place my order from the road--which I have done often. I called at 4:30 today (St. Patty's Day), as soon as I told the girl who answered that I wanted to place an order, she squealed and yelled "Oh My God! I can't believe you're here!!" Obviously to someone who just walked in the store. She said to me "Can you hold on a minute..." then put me on hold before I could answer. As I was driving in heavy traffic in the rain we had at that time, I didn't want to hold... So I decided that the person who walked into the store was more important to that girl than my order--which is how Danny can pay her hourly wage-- So I hung up, and kept driving. I stopped at a McDonald's, which is cheaper than Danny's but NO where near as good. I was not happy with that turn of events, and I may go back to Danny's but not anytime soon. I hope Danny sees this and makes corrections to the customer service provided by the girls at the counter, as they are the face of the Diner...

Good burgers, friendly help and nice different drink selections. Prices were decent, though I lost my receipt and can't list them. We both had burgers and fries that were good and tasted freshly made. You could tell the patties were made by hand and that the fries were fresh. The service was really friendly bringing you into their conversations and making you feel like they've known you forever. A surprising find!

I live in Orlando and traveled to Tampa with my production team to film an episode of Muscle Car Workout. There I was with 3 hungry men and we wanted to find a great restaurant. Danny's is so small and off the main street that I would have completely missed it if it had not been highly recommended by YELP. The service was fast and friendly and the food was AMAZING! So good it fact, it will be highlighted on the Nov 21st episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I bit the bullet and ordered the Guy Fieri Burger (which he created himself). It was massive! and absolutely delicious! A must for anyone in the area!

A friend recommended this place and it was a little chaotic trying to park my truck, but not too bad. The place is unavoidably popular since being praised by Guy Fieri on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives." Parking is a bit of a challenge at peak lunch hour, which is when I arrived (noon). I parked next to a bunch of other cars parked willy nilly in a field across the street. There was a line of people at the window outside the diner, about 10 deep. I noticed above the window the words "Pick Up." These people were hanging out for their orders. It reminded me of the Taco Bus in Tampa, another wildly popular diner/dive. I chose to walk inside. Inside is basically the kitchen only, with a tiny enclosure where you stand around and order from. Unfortunately, I didn't notice there was another line of people outside, all ordering from a window which I didn't see. The harried order taker (inside) yelled to me and everyone mingling outside, "If you're eating here, go ahead and sit and someone will take your order." Sitting meant sitting outside, which was fine with me, because this was a gorgeous Florida day. So I wandered outside and saw lots of families seated on picnic benches. Me and my buddy chose a small table. Sure enough an order taker showed up with her pad and pencil (not really a waitress) and pleasantly took our orders. I had the Reuben and my buddy had the cheesesteak. Both were DELICIOUS. In fact, amazing. I will upload pictures of his cheesesteak and you will see how it looks.

Good find. We stopped here at the suggestion of a couple of Yelpers on our way to Americanarama at the Fairgrounds and were not disappointed. Home Run burger, Babe Ruth burger and onion rings. All good. The next time I'll bring a roll of paper towels and try to sit as far away as possible from the outdoor TV over the pickup window that plays the DDD segment in a loop... I'm not a big Fieri fan. Good food, good folks.

Very cool place to go and enjoy a very good sandwich. The Cuban panini is very good. Although it was a little skimpy on the pork. Also, it could have been premade because the center wasn't as warm as I like it is to be. That is usually caused by pre making them and trying to warm everything through. Never works.

Drove out here from Cape Coral, we got the Danny's Style Cuban Sandwiches and they were delicious. I don't know if I can say for sure that it's worth driving 2 1/2, but it's close. I definitely would watch to try a burger the next time, but that cuban sandwich was really, really good.

Did not make a good first impression. Of course I would pick the only day in the last several months for rain to appear. I have driven by many times, but never stopped due to poor parking availability. Being a first time customer I guess I committed a cardinal infraction by not ordering at the proper window. I went inside, waited behind a gentleman in line for 10 minutes. When he was finished and left with his order, the girl ignored me and when she finally did acknowledge me, asked if I was ordering or there for pick up. When I said ordering she pointed to the window and said I had to go outside to place the order! At this point no one was in line inside or outside to order. To top it off, once I was outside she couldn't hear me over the TV and wind noise - had to repeat my order 3 times to be heard. The wait was long - my only item was a pressed cuban to go.

Onion rings were very tasty, however, chili dog was really not good. The hot dog was of the very lowest quality, pale and limp, sitting in a bun that was fresh last week (yes it was stale). The chili was good but there was only a few tablespoons on top. I wanted a CHILI DOG! But left unsatisfied.

Danny's has been known in my neighborhood for quite a while, but now that he was featured on TV "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" I'm sure he'll gain on popularity. Don't let the rough outside fool you, the food is fantastic! Danny and his wife are very friendly and know there regulars which is very nice and unfortunately quite rare. The food is always fresh and the portions are very generous. If you drive-by or live in the area, it's worth a trip!

Rode the bike from Sanford to this little road side place. After eating the Cuban, next time will walk if I have to. Great people working there, and the sandwich was tasty and juicy. Wife had the cheesburger and raved about it. I guess we all get so use to eating fast food burgers we forget how nice a well made one is. Will make the hour ride again...

Danny's is a small white building on Faulkenburg just east of MLK. This is the sort of place that you would go for lunch if you worked in this area. It's a cute hole-in-the-wall with good food and A LOT of flaws. First off, for Danny's to call itself a diner is, at the very least, an exaggeration as it lacks counters and booths. In fact, the only seating at Danny's are a few picnic tables outside. The inside of Danny's is cramped and every inch is covered with... well, covered with something or other. Danny's has a breakfast and lunch menu and both are extensive almost to a fault. Their lunch menu (the only one I've ordered from) has many variations of burgers, sandwiches, deli sandwiches, salads, hot dogs and sides. They also carry a huge array of specialty items like flavored sodas, ice cream, candy, popcorn, pies and cakes. It's a bit much for what is essentially a pick-up lunch joint. There's some vague system set up that involves ordering at a window outside and picking up inside, however I've never seen this system utilized. Usually everyone is trying to squeeze inside. Sometimes the line to pick up is spontaneously switched to the order window. It's very chaotic. They do accept orders over the phone, but calling even a small order in ahead of time doesn't always insure a quick and easy transaction. From what I can tell the employees implement a system that partially relies on printed tickets and partially on screaming orders across the small restaurant. In terms of accuracy, this system seems to work although it's a bit unnerving. Danny's is also forever "short" on help... which explains why orders often take a long time to come up and why only one person handles taking orders, screaming orders, pick-up, delivering food to the tables, handling money, making milk shakes, answering the phone, etc... The quantity and quality of the food at Danny's is superb in comparison to other restaurants that specialize in serving people on their lunch breaks. Especially the quality. Danny's employees are always very personable and sweet even when you can tell they're stressed. Subway and McDonalds couldn't hold a candle to Danny's in these respects. On the other hand, Subway and McDonalds can get me in and out in less then 10 minutes and sometimes my time is more valuable than the quality of the food and service. A message to Danny: Your food's great. Get your shit together so I can come more often. Thank you.
