An experience! After seeing a line wrapped around the corner for food to this place and not a non-islander in sight, I figured this place was good and authentic. I brought my brother here. It was good food. A little greasy and not much variety, but the spices were great and the combination of the dishes went well together.

Cephas has amazing Jamaican food and some good drink options too. This man truly cares for his customers health and openly offers his health advice. You need to visit Cephas and try the fish, jerk chicken, curry chicken or oxtail..those are my favorites. Try the tamarind and order the Aloe with Coconut for drinks.

I've been going to this place off and on for years, and I've finally decided to write a review because I'm at my wits end with this place. I went to Cephas on 8/15/2015, a week after its grand opening and was disappointed with everything from the service to the food. Let me first say I weigh 170Ibs all muscle. we received no menus when we walked in. after 30 minutes of waiting with only 2 people in his restaurant, Cephas finally took our orders, I asked for extra goat and Cephas told me I needed extra vegetables. when my plate arrived I only had 1oz of goat and the rest of the plate was full of Rice and vegetables that was made 2 days ago. I couldn't believe he charged me $12.00 for old Rice and vegetables. I will be making my own curry goat from now on, eat at this place at your own risk!

Had a great time exploring Cephas with a few friends the other night! It is a cultural experience that is unlike any other. He is so nice and friendly; willing to help and educate everyone. I'm looking forward to visiting again!

Got food poisoning here, only thing I ate all day and was on the toilet the entire night. Food inspector said its not a licensed place and wasn't keeping the rice & beans at proper temps. Stay away or re-cook your food before serving.

I used to frequent this place well before yelp was around... So although I have not seen Cephas in some time, I wanted to take the time to reminisce on yelp of my days living next door to the Hot Shop. Cephas is one of the best people I have ever met in my life. Having lived next door, I was here almost every day. I looked forward to my conversation and aloe shake for a good 2 years. Besides being very interesting, I found Cephas to be very caring and a hard working neighbor. Reggae music flowing consistently put me in a good mood. The food! My gf and I would eat here several times a week. The wings may be the best I've ever had, the soup is always amazing and the fish was so flavorful! If you are anywhere near this place, go see Cephas, get an aloe shake and tell him I said hello!!

Adam from Boca pretty much nailed it. I'm giving the Hot Shop five stars not for the food but for the zealous sermon. Cephas is NOT a huckster, he is a devotee. A guru. A real live precher and he wants you to get the gospel of ALOE and proper diet. We left there (yes, we drank the goo. I hated it, my husband didn't taste the same acrid, bitter aftertaste that I got but I guess I have sensitive buds). Regardless of what you think of the drink, you get the message- "You eat for HEALTH not for Taste!" I thought it was a one of a kind experience, not something you can buy or find at Disney. Then we went and had Argentinian steak around the corner. It was awesome. :)

Well. Last time I went there was a LARGE ROACH in my chicken curry. Not even joking. Very disappointing. I used to preach his food now I reccomend not going. Will be more to come. That was just the one they didn't see to pick out. Cephas. Very. Disappointed.

I live within walking distance of this restaurant and I think it has good food. If you dine in then it literally feels like you have been transported to Jamaica, complete with chickens and all. You can generally hear some kind of island music or reggae playing too. While the food is quite good, I think the portions are a bit small for the money. So, don't get a plate for two because it is really more like a plate for one. You will also be pressured to buy an aloe smoothie. If you value whatever is in your stomach then you probably don't want an aloe smoothie. Let's just say the taste and how you feel directly after downing a bunch of aloe are not huge selling points for that kind of drink (consider yourself warned). The people are nice and the service is, well, on island time. So, be patient. However, if you have never been here then it's worth a visit.

It isn't really fair for me to write a review because I didn't eat there. But I wanted to give them 5 stars just for the door. I spotted on my way home form a meeting at IKEA. The door was so cool and stickered-up that I literally stopped and got out of my car just to take a picture of it, even though I wasn't hungry and didn't have time to eat anyway. I need more doors like this in my life these days.....

Right. The first thing you need to understand is that Cephas, the man, the legend, is an extremely straight forward 55+ year old Rasta from Jamaica. His sole purpose in life is to spread his knowledge of proper diet and lifestyle so that the masses that come in contact with him are healthy; by healthy I mean fertile, enduring, and not overweight. Second, if you appear unfit to Cephas he will do and say two things: 1) He will inform you that you're not in a healthy state of being, and 2) he will try to force you to drink an aloe shake (water blended with aloe vera innards). His intentions are good, and his cooking is authentic and worth sticking it out through his advice. I have been attending his restaurant, and witnessing his sermons, for more than 10 years. Again, his intentions are good, and if you research aloe, you will find that it is a cheap, potent, nature, and cleansing laxative that also soothes Florida sunburn.
