Terrible experience- snotty, RUDE staff, had to climb over other patrons to get to the restrooms, dank, dark but most of all worst service and surly servers. Don't waste your time these people they don't care about their customers!!

What a WAIT! First, my (pregnant) wife, and I, walk past the 2 waitresses outside taking a smoke break at the front door, only to walk in and and stand there for 5 minutes waiting to be seated, after the waitress finally decides to let go of the cigarette and seat us. We sit down and place our order ( a small pizza) and go through about 3 drink refills before the pizza ever comes out. I'm finally laying my head on the table ready to go to sleep before the food comes. I could understand if the place were busy but there were only about 4 other people there. I did not leave a tip because I'm cheap, but I don't pay extra for horrible service. No good reviews here on the service.

Our deep dish pizza was delicious, as were our side salads. The kids enjoyed their spaghetti and personal pizzas. On the day we visited (a Saturday afternoon), there was only one guy covering the whole place. We sat in the bar area, although I would have preferred to dine in the nicer part of the restaurant. Maybe next time. ;) The guy worked his butt of to make sure everyone had their food and drink orders. They have 2 for 1 drinks all the time, so this makes a great college hangout. We used a Groupon and ended up getting out of there for $8, tip included. Great pizza, yummy Italian food, and good drinks. Depending on the type of experience you desire, choose your side of the restaurant wisely, as they have very different types of ambiance. The bar portion reminds me of a dungeon or something!

Worst experience ever and will never go back. Not only did it take 20 minutes to get our drinks (only because the waitress forgot we even ordered!), but the salad came out as if it were placed in a microwave and the waitress brought out our food cold and soggy. Never took any plates from the table until we paid, I had to ask for my second beer after I was far from finished, and the manager seemed more interested in talking to his waitresses than actually running his poorly kept restaurant.

Great place to group up with friends and have a great night. Bartenders are nice, drink special is amazing and food is great. I would recommend all my friends to come here.

No doubt about it: if you're looking for the best pizza in the USF area, you'll find it at CDB's. The pizzas here are piled ridiculously high with toppings. Fact #1: I can eat a LOT of food. Fact #2: I can only eat two--maybe two and a half--pieces of a large CDB's pizza before tapping out. The "Bee" Meat Lovers Special is definitely the best pizza here... it's a carnivore's fantasy pizza. The A-T-FM seems to be popular with my friends, but I'm not a fan. I've never really enjoyed the atmosphere here--hence the one star deduction. It's also weird to walk in and awkwardly wait to be seated. I feel like the waitresses should do a better job of watching for guests who need to be seated. Personal note: my sister and her fiancé went here on their first date, and they also got engaged here (a couple years later, of course). So if you're looking to fall in love or get married, arrange a CDB's date ASAP.

Last night we wanted a simply good piece of pizza and salad- we got much more! The atmosphere is dingy little hole in The wall (loved it) and just like other little blink and miss it places it was TASTY!! My husband took a big chance and ordered wings- they nailed it! The wait staff is friendly, the service is attentive and it was just all around a wonderful dinner.

I've had the food once, and NEVER again! My roommate works for the restaurant and there are so many health issues that they said they fixed after their health code violations and being on "Dirty Dining". There are cockroaches all over the place! A couple even went to unroll their silverware and there was a dead cockroach in there! There have been multiple reports of people seeing huge roaches all over the dining area. Also, the way they pay their employees is illegal! They don't use a clock in or clock out method, they just kind of pay their employees whatever they assume they did.My roommate and her coworkers will work 20+ hours A WEEK and the get paid every 2 weeks, so how is it that some workers are getting as low as $5 for AT LEAST 40 hours of work? They also don't tell their employees how much is being taken out for taxes. This place is unsafe, and is using illegal means for their staff. It needs to be shut down!

I have never been so DISGUSTED in my ENTIRE LIFE. First of all, I was forced to witness at least three accounts of PDA. YES.......NOT IN AMERICA. After having a stern talk with the owner, he offered to buy me a free drink. IT WAS A WELL LIQUOR I will never bring business here again.

I have wanted to try this local pizzeria for a long time. Unfortunately, my visit was less than decent. To start off, the bathroom was very smelly, so bad one can smell it in the dining room. Then the service was subpar, and very slow. When the pizza finally showed, it tasted like frozen pizza DiGiorno or something the like. For $17 medium pizza w/ a little bit of meat and cheese, I felt I deserve something better than that. Sorry, but places like these are a throwback to the 70/80's and everything inside shows no improvements been added since. As someone who frequents local establishments, it always pains me to write such a negative commentary.

Heard that it was the best, went there it was extremely dangers. Full of drunk people trying to get there way for free alcohol. It was a really bad experience. Nothing worth going there again.

CDB's is, hmm, well very dark and somewhat dingy and it's always overflowing with annoying college kids, especially on the weekends, but I love their greek salad and it keeps me coming back time and again. Their pizzas are okay and costs more than I think they are worth, but that greek salad...I can't stray from it. This salad is served with potato salad and CDB's house dressing, made with olive oil and herbs, which just adds to the wonderful flavor of the potato salad.

I love the special they have... the large one topping and chef salad. It's enough to feed 4 or more people and it's delicious!!! I always have a good meal every time I come here. The staff is usually pretty friendly because they are mainly USF students but sometimes the bartenders they hire are a little ditsy and don't really know what they are doing (late night only) Try sake house next door for cheap and delicious sushi!!!! YUM!

This was our first time here. The service was not good but in defense of the waitress they were busy and we think she was new. It took about an hour to get our meal. We had to request silverware, remind of appetizer order. We had to flag down waitress several times for normal service requests. Once we got our food, though it was delicious. Maybe we were there on an extra busy night.

This place is absolutely awful The service is fine, and the pizza is OK. However, the last time I went here at least three German cockroaches crawled across the table. Needless to say, I lost my appetite.

Jesus H. God, if Carrabba's gets five stars, CDB needs nine! My pizza-hating wife stole my slice out of my hand several times, and I was unable to finish the "whole" eggplant parmesan sandwich. Service was as fast as it could have been expected to be for a party of TWENTY-FIVE people (and nearly as many separate checks!), and they've got reasonably-priced pitchers. The spinach salad is so good I remember it from years ago, the last time I was in town, and I'd never order the large unless I was with hungry friends. Which is a good thing, because at $16, it had better feed a few. Ditto the $20+ eighteen-inch pizzas with artichokes, tomatoes, and fresh mushroom (the "A-T-FM", my favorite). Totally worth the price -- but in this student neighborhood, you might have to eat ramen for a few days afterward. Insider hint: "CDB" doesn't stand for anything; it's a reference to children's book "C D B!" by William Steig ( amazon.com/C-D-B-William… ).

I went here on a Tuesday night to go grab a couple beers with some friends. The place was jam packed with people grinding on eachother and club music. I know that the management can't control what crazy people come in, but if you want to squirm past 30 drunk dancing people to get a beer, then suit yourself. The bartenders are really quick and experienced, but the place is just tooooo small for all those USF kids flooding the place with their ridiculousness. I'm saying this and I'M A COLLEGE KID!

Not the CDB'S from the 80'S, but still quite taste. The Hard Had Special still seems to have all the components, just not as hearty. The Pizza, CDB Special has all the components including the seeds(fennel) in the sausage that gives it the bite. Still very hearty in proportions and cooked to order is a plus. We enjoy this establishment and it's values to tradition of the original CDB'S.

Overall it's just "ok" for me. I had a small veggie pizza and a side salad. The salad was great. Not your average iceberg lettuce with a quarter of a tomato. It had mixed greens and a yummy balsamic vinaigrette dressing and it was the highlight of the meal. The pizza was good. Nothing to write home about, but decent. The crust was the best part. One of our party had the chicken parm and omg it was HUGE! I didn't try it, but I will next time I'm there. The 2-for-1 sangrias were yummy. Don't be afraid if you order one. That's not dirt floating on top, it's cinnamon. :) The service was good. A little slow for it not being crowded, but we did have a group of 8. It's pretty dive-y on the inside, but it has it's charm. I probably won't frequent the place, but I'll return

Worst service ever. Some things never change. Music is literally so loud you have to yell. Really? At 5:30 in the afternoon. Asked them to turn it down but nope. Wouldn't do it. Also, had to track down my waitress for service. This place has gone WAY down hill. Even farther than before if that's even possible.

I took my family of three yesterday for pizza and all I can say is it is probably one of the best pizzas I've eaten in Tampa in a really long time. I ordered the vegetarian pizza but since my wife doesn't like peppers or green olives on her pie, we asked for half all the way and half just mushrooms and onions. They said no problem. There was also a lot of cheese on the pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly and they provided dipping herbs and olive oil. My 6 yr old had the ravioli and meatball. It also came with a lot of cheese. It was a lot of food for a kid and she couldn't finish her meatball. The place changed owners about two yrs ago and divided the restaurant into two restaurants, one serves Italian and the other serves sushi so if you want sushi with your pizza, they will provide you with the other menu as well. It's a pretty cozy place but it can handle large parties too. I will be coming back soon.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
