My dad and I went here for dinner, a bit of a celebration on the sale of the house we had just flipped. It was VERY busy, but it was a Friday night after all. We had to wait with one of those beeper thingies. No problem for us, it was just about 10 minutes. Once we were seated, we started off with an appetizer of the Bruschette Caprese, which was refreshing. I had the shrimp & scallop spiedino. The shrimp was very tasty but the scallops were just so-so. Dad had the grilled Tuscan skewers. I stole a bite and it was delicious! I should have gotten that! For desert I had dessert rosa which was sweet and airy. Our waitress was great and gave good suggestions (like the dessert).

TASTES THAT EXPLODES IN YOUR MOUTH We been to many Carrabba's across the country, always excellent food and service. AVOID THEIR STEAKS: Only one (1) issue, caution when ordering ANY steaks, no matter what the waiter says. This is strictly an Italian Restaurant and they just don;t know how to do steaks, even though they have the exact same supplier as Outback Steakhouses. I just don't get this.....

I don't really have much to say except the food was delicious. I had the chicken Bryan, garlic mashed potatoes, an Italian side salad, calamari, and a glass of Amore Monday wine. I ate every last bite and even made room for dessert, which was great as well. The service was okay -- our waiter wasn't that personable until he handed us our bill and we were about to write in the tip amount. He kept our drinks full for the most part and nothing was wrong about my order so I don't have too much to complain about. I don't eat here often because it's more of a nicer place than most of my daily picks, but every time I do I'm reminded why I like it so much. I was really craving some Italian food tonight and I'm glad that I chose to go to Carrabba's. I'd go back anytime!

Probably the worst Carrabbas food wise I've ever been to. The service was excellent but our food was awful. No one at the table liked what they ordered. The shrimp risotto was overcooked and there was so many tomatoes it was nasty. The lobster Mac and cheese was plain noodles with a sprinkling of cheese and two small chunks of lobster. My mom had marinara sauce and it was so spicy she didn't eat her meal. Overall a terrible meal.

Always greeted well. I went to the bar for a light meal of the promoted mussels. The absolutely gloomy and non personable bartenders said they were out of mussels. It was 6:30 pm, the loud, rude happy hour drunks with gold neck chains were out in force. So, I tried the fried zucchini and shrimp diablo. Both were a soggy mess. Totally undercooked. No one ever asked if I was satisfied. No water or bread was offered. Service was average timewise and a total failure otherwise. I will not be returning to the weakest link in Carrollwood.

It was my Birthday Monday 8/18. My family took me out for dinner. I love the chicken Bryan. This time they had as special it was paired with pork tenderloin, salad, side, and of course I got my FREE birthday dessert "chocolate dream". To go. Everything was great as always.

Carrabbas just might be my favorite restaurant and this location consistently provides a phenomenal experience! My husband and I have been coming here for over 6 years and are always impressed by the friendly and helpful team of hostesses and servers. The food is always great and we've even enjoyed the bar top seats overlooking the kitchen. The staff does a great job accommodating groups of any size - we have come for Christmas Eve dinner, birthday parties and date nights. The quality of service stays the same even with larger parties. I highly recommend the Mezzaluna, Pollo Rosa Maria, Fried Zucchini appetizer and the Sangria!

My wife and I ate at Carrabba's on Father's Day so the place was pretty busy, but we did get a seat right away as there were not many parties of two. Our server was polite and friendly. Where we sat, it felt a little cramped. As for the food, we mostly felt that it was average. There was nothing bad about it but also nothing distinguishable. It's what I would expect at a minimum at a restaurant like this. I don't really see myself going back here given the choice of a few other restaurants in the same price range.

Decided on trying this place again after many years, just because we had a gift card that hadn't been used, and it was my wife's birthday. The pork tenderloin was very tasty, although I couldn't find much in the way of prosciutto. Wife enjoyed her Mezzaluna pasta dish also. Drinks were reasonably priced. Monday night was not busy at all, judged by the many empty tables, but we felt RUSHED throughout the meal. It seemed we had just received our drinks and bread, when the salad arrived at the table. Both of us were still busy with our salads when the entrees arrived. We were still busy with this, when they were asking whether we wanted dessert, which we declined. Brit server Tony was very attentive, and kept us smiling throughout the meal, but should maybe learn to let two old pharts to take their time over a meal.

Not usually a fan of chain restaurants but this one is pretty good. A nice place to take my 12YO for dinner. Love the Chicken Bryan and the Cozze Bianco! Plus happy hour is until 7 and the cocktails are very well made. They also have a decent house wine. I've never had bad service here.

Went there on a Saturday night, very nice place...cozy...busy and the food is great, all the food except for the pizza....Pizza is gross....just because of the crappy and surrogate thing called cheese they put on it.. It is like chewing gum and it is sad because they dough is good! I recently moved to Tampa and I expected to find people who know how to make pizza and use the right ingredients but I was wrong! So just do not get pizza if you go there...all the rest is good!!!
We Love this restaurant, but besides that.... Carrabba's has the best crab Cakes... I highly recomend them on your next visit. Everything else on the menu is awesome as well but i felt that i had to pass the crab cake info along !!

This is the Best Carrabba's in the North Tampa area... We have a new one at 54 and the Suncoast and another one up on 50 in Brooksville, both of which have a long way to go to catch up with the service and quality of this store. The consistent quality and impeccable service is always dead on. The food is hot, the drinks stay full and the atmosphere is great. (we have spotted many, many celebrities there) I would drive from anywhere to eat at this Carrabba's. KUDOS.....

I had dinner last night,I asked for the gluten free menu since I heard that Carrabba's now has lots of gluten free items so I decided to try it! I have celiac disease so I asked many times to make sure my meal had no gluten at all. I ended up at the hospital at 2 in the morning with lots of pain in my stomach,I kept throwing up all night long it was a nightmare. Had to skip the two jobs I have because I'm sick and when a celiac eat gluten it takes 2 days to get better plus all the consequences.I will never go back again and now I'm just worried about other people like me that think it's a safe place to eat when it's not.TERRIBLE.

After my visit last week, I had an overwhelming urge for more of their mussels. I promise you the broth is so good, you would eat it as a soup. It was a long day and I had skipped lunch, so after the mussels, I was still hungry. I tried their happy hour half priced bacon, caramelized onions and goat cheese brouchetta. My it was deliscious. There was something added to the caramelized onions, that gave them more than the usual sweet flavor, in a good way. I can't put my finger on the exact flavor, but it was pleasant and added to the flavor of the dish. The flavor pairing on the very thin, crisp dough was terrific. What's a girl to do? Now I have 2 favorite appetizers at Carrabbas.

Say what you will about chain restaurants, but Carrabba's has always been among my favorites. Over the years, they've delivered time and time again on old favorites and a few new, limited-time delights. The mussels in white wine are one of our "go tos". The mussels are always of good quality but even better is the delicious "pot liquor" with hints of lemon, garlic and that lovely touch of brine-y flavor. Among the entrees, I love any pasta in their pomodoro sauce - a simple but elegantly balanced fresh tomato and basil sauce - and spaghetti and meatballs can make any day better for me. For me, the real standouts are the grilled offerings. I can never decide between the Chicken Bryan (topped with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil lemon butter sauce) and the Pollo Rosa Maria (topped with fontina cheese, prosciutto, mushrooms and basil lemon butter sauce). Both are excellent and come with two chicken breasts - one of which almost always goes home with me for another day. Every now and again I just can't justify the calories from all that cheese and opt for the simple Wood-grilled Chicken instead. However, in taste, this is anything but simple - rubbed in herbs and olive oil with delicious little grilled/charred bits - it's one of those dishes that reminds me just how delicious grilled chicken can be when done right (as opposed to the endless parade of boring "puck of grilled chicken, covered in sauce and cheese" options on so many menus and I appreciate the sort of ballsy nature it takes to start with quality ingredients and then just leaving them to shine. Overall, the Carrabba's chain is one we visit every six week or so and plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. This location, tucked into one end of the plaza, is perhaps smaller than some of the standalone locations I've visited but once inside it feels comfortable and cozy. Like many locations, this one favors light, creamy walls with dark wood tables and booths with adds a quiet elegance to the environment. While the kitchen is visible from the dining room, I've found most Carrabba's locations have carefully avoided the clanging, banging clamor open kitchens can sometimes cause. Service over my six or seven visits has been consistently good - attentive and polite. I had a lovely surprise during a recent lunch visit. I really like the house salad - a nice blend of romaine tossed lightly in a creamy Parmesan dressing with some carrots and olives. On my most recent visit, the salad came out with thin shredded carrots and red cabbage. It was a good amount of veg and also had a few thin sliced radishes on top. So delicious and my server said this is recent change that will likely stick - YAY!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I have been to this particular Carraba's on several occasions and have always had a great experience. The staff is attentive, the dimly lit room is relaxing to me, and the food is great. For me, this place beats Olive Garden on every level, hands down. I love the hot, soft, bread with the spiced dipping sauce that they make for you table side. The mussels appetizer is large enough for two to share, the broth is tasty, and I like to dip my bread in that as well. Quite honestly, I could make a meal just off of those two things, if I'm not very hungry, and would walk away feeling satisfied. But if I'm in full foodie mode, I go for the entrée as well. This time around I tried the Seafood Cannelloni, which is a stuffed pasta filled with lobster, shrimp, and scallops . My date, had the Chicken Marsala and was pleased with that as well. I've never had enough room left to try a dessert, but I usually will have a house wine with my meal. Wines and Sangria is affordably priced at around $6.00. So I like Carrabba's, for a moderate priced, Italian food, chain restaurant. Dinner for two came up to $60.00 without tip. So it does sadden me to say that my last visit, on Wednesday, was disappointing. I believe that one thing that separates a good restaurant from a great restaurants is consistency. That's one of the reasons McDonald's is so succesful. You can go into any Micky Dee's around the country, order a burger, and it tastes the same, every time, in everyplace. Everyone is entitled to have a bad day. But, what if this was my first time going to Carrabba's? It took quite a while for us to get our bread and when we did, it was as hard as a rock. The dipping sauce, which I so love, was not mixed well and tasted like olive oil and not much else. The mussels were tasty but luke warm. My entrée was good but I was so disappointed by everything else up to that point that I was just ready to leave. In this economy. I can think of other ways to spend 60 bucks. Will I go back? Yes. I am hoping, it was just one of those days in Carrabba's land. If it happens again, I will write about it again. I still recommend that you give this place a try. If you do, please let me know what your experience was like. Until then, Happy Eating!

Carrabba's Italian Grill was founded in Houston in 1986 by Johnny Carrabba and Damian Mandola -- two Sicilian boys who learned to cook from their parents and grandparents. The success of the Houston restaurant chain caught the attention of Outback Steakhouse, and OSI acquired the rights to build Carrabba's into a nationwide chain. Carrabba's is best known for its wood-burning grill, inspired by the many tastes of Italy. Signature dishes like Chicken Bryan, Pollo Rosa Maria and, of course, Marsala are enhanced by the taste of the grill. Other house specialties include signature pastas, with sauces made from scratch every day and Cucina Casuale, or casual done the Italian way featuring a wide variety of homestyle, delicious entrees. This Carrabba's is located along N. Dale Mabry Highway in the heart of Carrollwood in between Linebaugh and Fletcher Avenues. The restaurant is popular with local residents, and there is generally a line to get seated during the key hours. I sat at a booth in the bar, but there are booths and tables around the restaurant along with high-top seats overlooking the open kitchen. The lighting in the restaurant is very subdued, and combined with the dark wood paneling, the appearance is intimate. The service is always excellent with very friendly and knowledgeable servers. For dinner I had a bowl of their homemade lentil soup with spicy Italian sausage, along with a loaf of warm Italian bread served with a dipping sauce of olive oil and fresh herbs. For my main course I had Pasta Sostanza which was made with tagliarini egg noodles with sautéed shrimp, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and spinach in a tomato basil sauce and topped with seasoned breadcrumbs. It was nice and light, and a very summery dish. Carrabba's is one of the better Italian chain restaurants.
