This place is growing on me slowly. While their menu is small, they know how to do a pizza. Just don't get the NY style pizza- for me and my eating crew, we find that the crust seems to lack flavor. The Chicago style pizza, on the other hand, is pretty darn delicious. It's like eating a pizza on an amazing, but thin, buttery biscuit. I really like that it's not overwhelmed by a ton of dough, and it isn't crazy greasy. To accompany the pizza, I definitely recommend the Greek salad. The dressing is killer, and I swear I could eat a tub of that Greek potato salad! Service here is weird. Sometimes I feel that the booths are so tall that they hide us, and the servers forget we are here. While on the topic of the booths, they can get pretty uncomfortable after a while of sitting (maybe I'm just extra bony?) Overall, I do enjoy coming here once in a while for a legit pizza.

I was so glad that Cappy's opened a location in New Tampa, because previously I had to go Seminole Heights. I was a youngin' when I first visited this location, before I had moved to Tampa. My sister and brother-in-law were fans of Cappy's, and decided it would be a good place for me, the pizza lover, to try. I'll admit I do not remember too much about my first experience, other than the wooden booths, and a '50s feel. I was happy with the pizza though, and thought it was a pretty cool place. Cappy's is now my favorite local pizzeria. The first thing that I noticed was all of the old-time paraphernalia covering the walls, and the wooden booths. The menus are squared-shape, and feature different record covers. The atmosphere is very cozy and reminds me of an older pizza shop. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and they get to know the regulars (my parents and brother-in-law being a few of them). Cappy's has two featured pizzas, "The Veggie" and "The Cappy"I like to get the New York style pizza, with garlic and artichoke hearts, as well as the spinach pizza. In addition to NY style pizza, they have Chicago style deep dish pizza, a choice of many toppings, and also cheese sticks, bread sticks, salads, and calzones. I said the owners are accommodating, because my family always have a few different requests. Due to health problems my father cannot have much fat or cheese. My parents are able to order a pizza with a light to medium amount of cheese. My brother-in-law is vegan, and they will make him a deep dish pizza with no cheese!

This establishment is a poor excuse for a pizzeria. They lack all elements that a true pizzeria should provide. For starters, they do not have garlic knots. After a certain time (I can not remember when exactly) they no longer serve individual slices of pizza. And to top it off they do not deliver. If their pizza was amazing it might make up for their other short-comings but it is mediocre at best. Everytime I have given them buisness I have had a bad experience. I am thoroughly fed up and will not return. And to top it off, their empolyees are rude. If I could, I would give them negative stars.

Finally a great pizza place in Tampa Palms!! Our family comes here on a regular basis and are never disappointed. Pizza is always delicious and the wait staff is the best around! We always see the same people working there, which to me, means they're a good place to work for. And if the employees stay, then you know you're getting a great product. As far as ordered items,we've had the pizzas, cheese bread, and salad. The family salad is delicious and definitely enough for 5 to share. We've had both kinds of pizzas, although we've been sticking to the New York style as we prefer that crust over the other style. The toppings always taste fresh and the crust is awesome! They also have a small bar with a TV and I think about 4-5 beers on tap. Good beer choices too, microbrew types not just Miller and Budweiser. The atmosphere is also really neat. It feels like a family pizzeria when you step through the doors. I can picture in my mind the neighborhood pizza joint where everyone goes to after a big game to celebrate. The menus are all old record sleeves so it's fun to see the song lists and old album artwork. They also have trivial pursuit cards at each table to pass the time, which is never too long as they get your food to you in a decent time.

Fantastic pizza and bread sticks! My favorite pizza spot in Tampa. The crust isn't too thick and has the best flavor. Generous portion...my husband and I split a pepperoni and mushroom and had plenty left to take home. The service was friendly and fast.

I call this restaurant "Crappy's" not Cappy because the last time I went to Cappy's restaurant with my family during lunch time. They stopped selling individual slices in the early afternoon. Also, you would think for being a pizzeria that sell pizza they would sell slices throughout the day when you have smaller families come in for pizza. The Chicago style pizza wasn't like any Chicago pizza I've ever had (lived in Chicago for 5 years). The pizza was dry, flavorless, burnt, and the dough was hard which a true Chicago is the total opposite. Also, the establishment doesn't make garlic knots like a true pizzeria. Finally, the waiters are rude. They have attitudes and makes the customer feel they aren't important. If I knew that I would be treated like a second rated customer I wouldn't have gone. I tell my other friends and family not to bother with any Cappy restaurant for fear that would be treat as rudely as I was.

Cappy's pizza is fresh and the seasonings are well balanced. The crust is crispy with out being burnt. My teens eat here about once a week and love the New York style cheese pizza. They really enjoy both the garlic bread sticks and the cheese bread, in fact tonight my daughter just wanted the garlic bread sticks. My wife and I order the Chicago style deep dish pizza. After leaving the midwest and moving to Florida and since Windy City Pizza on Dale Mabry closed we have not found a great deep dish pizza until Cappy's! The staff here is always accommodating and pleasant to deal with, we look forward to having Jeremy as our waiter. It is pleasant to dine in and easy to order for pick up. Either way we always enjoy the food. They deserve the five stars.

If there was an option to put zero stars, that is what I would do because they deserve it. I've been in the service industry and even own a restaurant. I had called and ordered a white pizza, and it was horrible! It was not a white pizza and it was very chewy (thank god for hot sauce). I am not one to complain but I was disappointed enough to do so. Although I had called and asked if they had a white pizza prior to ordering it (and they said yes), the manager/owner had insisted that since the white pizza was not on the menu, it wasn't their fault that it was horrible. They did not try to fix the situation in anyway and they have definitely lost a customer. Little bit of advice to the "manager"...... maybe you shouldn't put out a product that isn't on the menu and take responsibility for the mistake instead of putting the blame on the customers. Good luck running a business with that attitude

Closest I've found to NY pizza since moving to Tampa. Reminds me of the local pizzerias I frequented on Long Island. I'll definitely be back!

Awesome pizza place in Tampa Palms! So great to have a place so close! Great pizza and the spinach salad was delicious too! I will definitely be back!

Pizza is average. But the Chicago deep dish, tastes nothing like what you would get in Chicago. I think other pizza places in the area are better. Service was okay, kinda slow for no one in the restaurant. Overall an average experience.

Place is new so we thought we would try this place. Pizza was bad, and tough to chew like when you put bread is a Microwave. Everyone in our group swore never to return.

Great little neighborhood pizza place! Small enough to be quaint and friendly but with the experience and talent to give great service and fantastic pizza. When the owner (Harold) is making sure your beer is cold and your pizza hot, then you know you are in a great pizza place!

Went for lunch with a friend. They have some lunch specials. We opted for 2 different $8.50 lunch specials. 2 slices, salad, and drink and calzone, salad, & drink. Dressing for the salad was great. Pizza was alright and I was not a fan of the calzone...no ricotta. OK for a quick lunch, but up the street, I can get 2 great slices and a drink for $5.

Not the best pizza but not too bad compared to others in the area. The crust is not very flavorful and it could have been better with a little more Sauce and cheese. The Sauce tastes homemade so that's a plus. I had it to-go so I will give it another try Dining in. Carryout never tastes as good personally.

Best local pizza chain in Tampa. And best pizza I have had in the area since I have moved here in four years. We have been to the one in St. Pete a few years ago. When I heard there was a Cappy's closer to home in Tampa Palms, I was very excited. I called them yesterday and asked if they were dog friendly. They were nice enough to let me know that they just became dog friendly just for Mocha just last week. Well, really not for him, but we were there in perfect timing. Our waitress Jenna was very sweet, and helpful. She brought Mocha a little serving of Mozzarella cheese. He said it was way better than a bowl of water. Mocha our dog loved the place and will now tell all his doggie friends at the playground. Us, we loved our deep dish pizza. We ordered the Cappy's large deep dish with sausage, ham, green peppers. It came out in about 25 minutes. The sauce had nice chunks of diced tomatoes. The crust was tasty as well. We will be back for sure. Thanks Cappy's for taking care of all of us in the family including our spoiled puppy that is really a human little boy.:-)

I've loved every Cappys I've ever been to. This one is no different. The service is always great. Decor is casual and cute. Pizza is amazing. You grab your own drinks from the fridge which is fun. It's great for kids. Glad New Tampa now has a location. They needed a good pizza joint.

Delicious salad and pizza. the white pizza is great. Small place though, can get busy and cause a long wait.

Hey, where's the cheese? We ordered extra cheese, but there sure wasn't much cheese on our pizza! Tried the Chicago style pizza, but Chicago it's not... well, the pan looks pretty much the same, but it's mostly like a NY pizza (with hardly any cheese). We lived in Chicago for years and ate tons of deep-dish pizza... if it doesn't weigh at least 3 pounds (mostly from cheese), it's not a Chicago pizza! Maybe if Cappy's pizza had better flavor, but it doesn't, and you don't really want to keep eating it. Good service. Clean booths and restaurant (we ate inside). Really stingy on the paper napkins, though. Reasonable prices.

This place is my all time go to! Amazing pizza and amazing atmosphere! The salads, calzones, Chicago style and New York style are to die for! Had Cacie as my waitress and she was so nice and helpful! I had a large Cappy! Strongly suggest it and their Greek salad to go with it, with their house dressing!

At some point I went from liking Cappy's to loving it. Take the cheese off the deep dish, no problem. It still has tremendous flavor. My favorite pizza in Tampa.

Seriously probably one of the best calzones I have ever had. I must try their pizza next! Definitely recommend!

Great pizza and fast service! Boyfriend and I split a pizza. I'm more of a picky eater but Cappy's was able to accommodate what we wanted by splitting the pizza into two halves. My boyfriend ended up liking my half better! They have garlic as an option for a topping! Yasss! The sauce was also very good. Best pizza in Tampa that I've had!

So thankful to have a delicious pizza place near Wesley Chapel (New Tampa). Went to Cappy's after reading all my Yelp buddies reviews and recommendations -- to date they have not steered me wrong ....these peeps know their yummy food. Again, they were spot on -- our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We ordered a Large NY Style Cheese Pizza. Simply delicious. The thin crust was crisp and so tasty -- not too much sauce and just enough cheese. (I am craving one now as I write this review). One slice was huge and filled me and my daughter up -- my son did some damage and finished off the remainder. Our drinks were never empty -- atmosphere very pleasant with a lot of movie posters hanging on the walls and the menus are the cover of old music albums -- that is pretty cool. We did not get a salad or any of the desserts -- just stuck with the delicious pizza! Will we be back? You betcha -- cannot wait to try some other toppings.

The worst service in new tampa. We eat out very often but this is so far the worst service ever. They have two waitress for the whole restaurant and one was very arrogant and mean. I would never recommend this place even if the food taste good with this aweful service it tasted horrible.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.
