Once again we were babysitting my niece around dinnertime. On a previous babysitting stint, my boyfriend and I had a hard time finding a place to eat in the New Tampa area. Not wanting to go far, I thought of a place I had not been to in a long time. I had pizza from Biagio's twice before, always good, and they also offered sandwiches, salads, and subs. Therefore, it seemed like a good option to try it out again. In a way, I was forewarned to be cautious about going there. My sister informed me that Biago's had changed owners, and that they were getting mixed reviews. Well, I had already set my mind on going there, so I threw caution to the wind. We rolled down the road to a little strip mall off of Cross Creek Blvd. it can be a little hard to find, especially with all of the construction and the hidden drives between cones. Upon arriving, nothing seemed to be different. It is in an unassuming building with a small sign on the front. The inside is quite small, with about six tables. My niece needed a high chair, and it is a good thing we got there when we did, because the one other high chair was in use, and more children came in later. It was also very warm inside, because of the open kitchen. While there is table seating, you go up to the counter to place your order. While placing the order, my boyfriend was told it would be 30 minutes for the Stromboli I ordered. Well, that seemed kind of long, but I really wanted that. We asked for garlic bread to hold us over, and to bring out our entrees together. The garlic bread was not very good. I do not think there was much garlic on it, or anything else really. After over 20 minutes we finally received the just-okay garlic bread. About 10 minutes later, or longer, my boyfriend's food arrived. He ordered veal Parmesan with a side of penne pasta. The veal was tough, burned, and overcooked altogether. The pasta was meh, with the same sauce as the dipping sauce for the bread. Meanwhile, I continued to wait for my food. We mentioned several times that I was still waiting, and kept being told, "it's in the oven." Finally, after about 45 minutes, I got my food. It was not worth the wait. I had ordered the Pepperoni Stromboli, but it should be called "loaf of bread filled with globs of greasy cheese." I think there was pepperoni in there somewhere, along with rivers of grease and coagulated cheese. I ate one piece of it, and could just not stomach any more of it. To top it all off, the meal was $30! Thirty-dollars!! Sadly, Biagio's has been ruined and I will not go back.

Called in an order for pickup and was told it would be 25 minutes. It took an hour and 10 minutes. They compensated by throwing in 3 stale garlic knots. Food is nothing like I had from Jersey. Restaurant was poorly staffed as well that probably accounted for the wait. We will not be returning to here ever. If you are looking for authentic NJ/NY Italian look elsewhere. The food was reheated generic frozen fare. Extremely disappointed.

Terrible food and pizza now. Used to be half-way decent with the old owner but not anymore. New owners are clueless and just about every order is wrong and they don't seem to care or do anything to fix it. Veal/Chicken Parm Sandwiches were pretty good in the past. Now there are tough and tasteless. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Has gone downhill in the last year since the ownership change. Many inconsistencies on each meal depending on who is cooking.

Pizza is average but the problem is they are WAY overpriced and definitely not the best Pizza in New Tampa that would be Hawkeye NY Pizza right down the street.

Biagios is directly across the street from us and has typically been a good place to get delivery pizza. I particularly love the white pizza with sausage and onions. Unfortunately, my delivery order has been incorrect a multitude of times. I decide last night to call them after they delivered a wrong order, giving me a topping I do not eat. What I got was a rude owner who tells me they cannot do anything for me since they don't "give out free food", and she condescendingly told me to pretty much go shove it. I cannot believe small business owners act like this today. We are frequent patrons and a simple fix on their part would keep us ordering from them for years to come. Alas, I will go to one of their 15 competitors in the area. This place is not worth your money. Terrible service and management will run this place into the ground. GO ELSEWHERE!

Fantastic food and fantastic service. I don't think there is anything I have ordered here that I did not find delicious. The entrées are always freshly prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Pizza is great! Our family favorite, we have it once a week if possible. Owners are very nice people and always friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone, the best part for me is, I live right next to it!

This is the worst Italian I have ever eaten. We ordered the lunch "special" to go. I had a cheese and my husband had the pepperoni. The pasta sauce was so salty I had to scrape it off and my pizza slice was completely burnt on the bottom. The place is quite dirty and the owner also creeped me out a little. Definately will never go here again.

When you want Chinese you want Chinese to make your food, when you want Indian food you want Indians to make your food yet when I want Italian I want Italians to make my food not Arabs, The Service was good but the food tasted like they used low grade cheese, low grade sauce, low grade Ricotta, extremely low grade everything if they NY they would be chased out of the 5 Burrows, they claim to be NY style pizza place yet in the restaurant it says New Jersey style Pizza, Maybe they should rename the Pizza place to Arab Middle Eastern Pizza... We should of walked out when we walked in clearly they have no Idea what authentic Brooklyn Style Sicilian Pizza is... maybe they should just stick to making Hummus

I'm so lucky to live so close to here! The pizza is amazing! =) I first went here for lunch and got their lunch special- three slices of cheese pizza and a soda for $6.95. I got two cheese and one buffalo chicken. Of course you can't eat all 3 pizza slices here cause they are some big slices, but it's nice to have second lunch later! lol The pizza is soooo fresh and the people who work here are very friendly. Word of warning though, the buffalo chicken pizza is delish BUT very spicy! My husband and I made the mistake of ordering a large pizza of just this and it was so hard to have more than one slice! Since then, we have tried and LOVED the BBQ chicken pizza. It's very delicious! Thick, fresh slices of chicken and sweet bbq. I haven't tried their pasta yet but I'm sure it's wonderful as well. If you're in New Tampa and want a delicious and fresh pizza, come here! I know you'll be back! A large pizza is about $11.00 and some change but it's so worth it!

Great mom-and-pop Italian pizzeria in the New Tampa area. Service is very friendly, and they were very flexible with their menu to accommodate special requests. Menu is varied, and a nice place if you want a full-blown Italian meal or just a slice.

The service here (twice) has been horrible!!!!! The food is good, but I just can't get pass how they treated us. We waited 2 hours (yes 2 hours) for delivery and when I called to complain, they told me they were to busy to talk to me and if I didn't want the food, don't accept it...what???? Anyway, I don't think anyone should support a business that treats their customers this way, no matter how good the food is.

We wind up at Biagio's a lot because of my parents-in-law's love for pizza. I think they order pizza out like 98 times a month or something insane like that. We've always picked up at Biagio's, never ate in, which is fine because it is pretty small restaurant. One of the reasons that everyone seems to love it at Biagio's is that they offer fresh spinach on their pizzas. A lot of your smaller mom and pop shops will offer spinach and it is the frozen kind. Not Biagio's, they do it the right way with fresh stuff. My one complaint, and really this goes for a lot of pizza places, is that taking the cheese off their pizza leaves it pretty bland and boring. I need to find a nice pizza place that can veganize their pie without losing the flavor. That being said, I'm sure we will continue ordering out from here because my wife and her parent's both love it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
