Really poor seating management. 6:00 on a Sunday and the hostess has seated several parties of 2 at 4 tops leaving all the small tables open and no tables for larger parties. Then suggests I go eat at the bar with my minor children.

Great pizza! The place is beautiful and the atmosphere is truly inviting. The service is very nice and fast.

My girlfriend and I went in right as we arrived to Tampa on vacation had some time to kill until check in. We walked in promptly greeted by server, he quickly noticed we were out of towners from Massachusetts. Then asked us had we ever been to an Anthony's before we explained we hadn't. Took out order: the paul and young Ron pizza 5 stars and thewings were absolutely delicious !!!!! He brought us over two meatballs to try as there was a store opening in Massachusetts and wanted us to go there... Great experience ! Loved the food !

First time here, and my family and I had a very respectable meal. I am not convinced it is the best pizza in town, not by any means, but it is really quite good and the overall experience was very satisfying. We started off with twenty wings, which were really the star attraction. The wings were very meaty and not overly greasy, and a nice change up from the crazy fried wings everyone serves around here. The caramelized onions were sublime and a nice touch. Then had a large Italian salad that was also quite good. Garbanzo beans. But I especially liked that you could ask for mozzarella or gorgonzola cheese, and our helpful waiter was willing to bring us some of each. Everything tastes great with gorgonzola cheese, so this was a respectable salad for a mainline pizza place. Like most pizza joints, a little heavy on the iceberg lettuce, but hey, I am willing to cut them a break for this. We also had the meatballs with ricotta cheese, which was also very good. The meatballs were an interesting loose texture that melted away with each bite. It is making me quite hungry thinking about them. We did the Ron and Paul pizza with hot peppers, and it was good too. The peppers were a little too hot for us to eat in full, but it was cool that they were authentic, and I enjoyed the presentation. My kids liked the mini meatballs that came on the pizza. Overall, this was a really good experience and definitely better than many other comparable chains in the area.

Meh... Don't really care for bottled soda at a restaurant with pricing like this. I can get that at circle k. Meatballs were tasty. Pizza was good but not great. Server was friendly and attentive. When asked if we wanted to try wings, we asked what flavor options. Just 1. Server said the owner wanted the wings one specific way. Ok... Didn't feel like there were enough options in general. Probably won't go back.

Giving a 1 star because this very nice, very busy restaurant should absolutely be able to afford a fountain drink machine. They more than likely qualify for a free one from Coke or Pepsi with the amount of product they likely go through. Instead they serve individual soda bottles & overcharge for them to nickel & dime their customers. Shows management cares more about profit than happy customers. Will not return.

This pizzeria definitely is different from others. We ordered a salad and a small pizza. However, their small pizza is not small per se (look at the photos below) The place is decent and well kept. A good experience overall.

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza is one of my go to places when I am craving pizza. I consistently have great dining experiences here. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. I have had several of the pizza pies on the menu and have never been disappointed. The pizza is cooked evenly and the dough and the crust come out perfectly. While the pizza is fabulous here, the Oven Roasted wings are ridiculously delicious! It is a different take on wings, and they always come out so flavorful due to being cooked with the carmelized onions. All beers and wines are half off during Happy Hour. Anthony's also has great lunch specials. While Anthony's is best known for its pizza, they also have some salads and sandwiches, I wouldn't mind trying on the menu. I will definitely be back.

Got take out last evening, first time trying Anthony's.. Place was packed. Pizza was ready at stated time. Bit of sticker shock at price, however had a promo to assist. Now for the pizza. Found the crust just right, not too thin/thick with just the right chewiness. Seems the high heat from the coal had it on the verge of being burnt, but not -- the sweet spot for crust. Had the broccoli rabe/sausage - very generous toppings. Found the rabe a bit heavy on the garlic, however it complemented the sausage well. Paired with cheese and sauce that both held their own - and you get a top rated pizza.. Definitely would consider again..

Soft Pizza Makes You Fat. So, eat thin crust and crispy. Besides pizza is all about good texture and flavor and this spot has figured it out. Great atmosphere, good prices and you can SHARE the food baby!!! Try the eggplant and get extra cheese on it. It's delicious. The coal fired wings are awesome as well. That Coal oven is amazing.

First timer here, never had a coal fired pizza. When I think coal fired, my thoughts go to "blackened or charred". We ordered a Paul & Young Ron, and let's just say, they don't skimp on the toppings! So much sausage, it literally covered the every inch of the pizza. Dollops of ricotta and we got half with sweet peppers (for me) and the other half hot Peppers. The hot peppers are fire roasted and instead of being sliced up, it's the whole pepper! Never seen that before, if you like spicy, the juices from those peppers ooze onto the slice and give it that extra bit of heat. WOW! Enjoy it with a Jai Lai. The crust was crisp and thin, mmm so perfect. I want more pizza!!! Oh! Def try their wings! Dry rub, grilled and topped with caramelized onions. So amazing, will never get wet wings again! Service was friendly, and we were sitting outside. The only downfall was a drunk homeless man who kept coming up to our table and mumbling to us about stuff. The manager did come out several times to make sure we were doing alright and to tell the the man to go away. I'll def go back for more pizza, but plan to sit inside next time.

Best. Pizza. In Tampa. We came here on a Friday night with the kids for a family night. We ordered a large pizza (half meatball and half eggplant) and it was amazing. The crust was thin and had the smoky taste of the coal fire. It was full of little meatballs and ricotta cheese with a scrumptious full flavour. My kids got the chicken wings smothered in caramelized onions. So yummy. We had an insane amount of leftovers. I got the Prosecco Cocktail and that was the only disappointing thing of the night. This place is definitely family friendly. And there are a few TVs to watch your favorite games while you eat. This is my new go to pizza joint. Hands down the best in Tampa.

The absolute best. This place has never let me down! I rarely write reviews, but these guys deserve this one in my books, they are always on point with both the quality and service. Their Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza= Incredible.

Still amazes me they built this place out of a Boston Market. Maybe that's why I always sit outdoors at the bar because being inside seems cramped and gives me flashbacks to chicken, two sides and a piece of cornbread. Never fails, I see Chris behind the bar all the time and he's an employee who really makes customers feel at home. This guy never recommends something bad from the menu, always gets the pizza order accurate and is quick to notice when a glass is running on empty. Their pizza certainly has a good taste to it, and I've always liked any brand of pie where the sauce's flavor is stronger than the cheese and the crust is well-done instead of soft and chewy. While ordering ANYTHING but pizza at a place like this is like ordering chicken at a good steakhouse, their roast beef sandwich is the most underrated item on the menu. I know they get attention for the way they cook and serve their wings, but this particular roast beef sandwich is like something you would expect at Wright's up the street. Drink specials are available if you know which nights to go and they help offset the higher cost of pizza here. Honestly, the pizza will run you 2-3 times what it costs at the major delivery/takeout chains, but it is a restaurant (not a kitchen with a lobby) and the good taste and service from Chris is worth regular visits.

Have always enjoyed Anthony's Coal Fried Pizza until recently. The Pizza seems to be under cooked or rushed, wings are always amazing. This last order really through me. I ordered a pizza with meatballs and received the wrong pizza, this was take out. I called when I got home and was told to come back and the right pizza would be waiting. When I got there I was treated as if I had done something wrong. The pizza I ordered was waiting and it was cold and looked thrown together and the lady who brought the pizza to me was very direct. Wanted me to look over the pizza to make sure it was right and was rude going over the new bill. The new pizza was so bad I didn't eat it and only ate the wings. Yes the pizza was free but the wings weren't and that's all I ate so I guess I ate what I paid for and now had two pizza's I couldn't eat. Not sure if I will go back. Disappointed. It looks like Anthony's is a good place until they get busy and then not so much...........

Went there after someone said it was good. Don't know why I continue to take pizza recommendations from people not from NY/NJ. Bland is the word that comes to mind. Looked better than it tasted. It was 95 out and they had the bar section open to patio. Made for a warm environment. When it came to service, uninterested is the word. The only good news is they had domestic non-alcoholic beer.

I stopped in here for lunch last week and what a nice surprise! The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the food delish! I love thin crust pizza, and this pizza was special. Coal fired, great sauce, a nice blend of quality cheeses... perfecto! I'll admit, I went back 3 days later so the hubs could experience this. They have craft beers, too, but I wasn't a fan of the oatmeal porter I had- maybe it was just too early in the day. I would highly recommend this place!

  • Michael Z.

Impressive. The coal-fired pie has a unique flavor and a crunchiness I appreciate. The pizza toppings venture beyond the usual suspects to deliver some interesting combinations. Standard drinks and the ubiquitous TVs for catching the game, but this place is well worth it if you even remotely care for pizza.

Yummy! I love the pizza here. It's baked just the right amount of ime and it's absolutely delicious! Love the fact they opened one in south Tampa just blocks from my work. The waitress was very friendly as well.

Delicious food and great customer service. First time there and everyone was very friendly. They even sent over some wings on the house which was a nice treat. Had the meat pizza and it was awesome. A little pricy but was worth it!

We have been here once before and have enjoyed it fully the meal is absolutly delish and must be savored. The meal consisted of a small basil motzerrela and tomato pizza and a "meat lovers" pizza wich was quite delish! If i was in a joking mood i would say it was "awful" but im serious it was so amazing i fell in love with the first bite!!! Enjoyed the lively atmosphere definitly kid friendly and was an amazing joint! Absoloutly loved it!!!!

Went here for the first time today per the reviews and I tried the Paul and Young Ron Pizza. I wanted to substitute the meatballs for pepperoni but then they wouldn't consider it a specialty pizza and would have to charge for the toppings individually. That was the only down fall. So I got the pizza how it comes and I'm glad it wasn't changed because it was amazing. Would definitely go there again and would like to try the wings next time.

The pizza is very good but it's pricey. Their online menu doesn't have prices so you're left to guess what everything costs. We ordered two large pizzas and a salad for pick up. As we placed the order the woman who I spoke with didn't tell me a price so I assumed it was something reasonable. Not at all. The total was just shy of $60. The pizza is delicious but I was disappointed in the prices. While the place is great, be prepared to spend more than usual for a pizza.

    (4)
  • Josh M.

They do a great meatball and ricotta. I think the price is the true turn off. When 4 small pies set you back $70.00 then that can really make people question the value.

First visit was Sunday following a 12 hour Rd. trip. So as you can imagine, it was low key - but planning to go back and sit outside with the pup. The patio is far enough removed from Dale Mabry that it doesn't feel shady or noisy. So. In a nutshell: Reasonably priced, great service, and THE FOOD. We were offered two chicken wings to try since it was our first visit, which was very thoughtful! Wings are tasty and I would order them in a different mood, but I had my heart set on something Italian, so I ordered the family style meatballs with a delicious red sauce & ricotta cheese & toast points. Pretty good - not my homemade recipe, but still pretty good. They didn't disappoint! As far as the pizza: char on the edges of the crust from the oven isn't a mistake, it's the best part; and B) try the specialty pizzas. Our server recommended a specialty, but we ordered a traditional pepperoni first. It was so good that we also ended up ordering a lunch-sized specialty pie, for only $7.50! Super deal. I can't recall the name - starts with a p - but it's popular and has mini meatballs, sausage, and peppers, loaded on top of the traditional red sauce and mozzarella pie, baked in a coal fired oven. Mmm... Excuse me. I have to go warm up some leftovers now.

I came here with a big group for lunch. There were probably about 12 of us. Our server was very nice and smiled as he took down our order for drinks. While getting the drinks out, he apologized that he had forgotten or either written down the orders wrong so he didn't really know who's drink was who's. That's okay, because the rest of the time he served us was pretty on point. He had other servers and managers helping him out. We had ordered a couple of pizzas and everyone was very quick to getting us what we needed. At the end of us eating pizza, they gave us complimentary pork ribs, which were truely fall-off-the-bone meat. It was delicious. This is one of the better coal fired pizza that I have had. Good job Anthony's Tampa!

This is my one and only pizza joint in town. We've taken a few out of town guests here as well and they loved it. I always stick to my favorite arugula pizza which is amazing! So simple yet so yummy. The place is very family friendly. We come here almost every Friday night and it's packed with families.

I went here for the first time yesterday and it was AMAZZIINNGG. Our waitress was really nice and even got us free wings since it was our first time. My boyfriend said it was the best wings he has ever had. The food was delicious and I'll definitely be going back!

Eaten there several times but is getting worse and starting to get cheap. The quality of the food is usually good but lately they seem to be cutting back. Got 2 salads the other day and they were all lettuce. Complained and the manager said the lunch salad they don,t put much toppings on. What? Also they didn't give us any bread. Again complained and she said after 3 pm they don't give bread with the salad. My order was at 2:20pm. All we got were excuses and debate. There was hardly 5 customers in the whole restaurant. This place ain't cheap. The time before we ordered a pizza and with toppings and a 2 $ tip for the girl to bring it out to the car it was $28.00! Way over priced and bad customer service .

This place is pretty good, but it's a chain, and it's really not as convenient as it should be. I heard about Anthony's from a New Yorker who proclaimed it is the best pizza in Florida. I love New York styled pizza, so of course I had to try it. I wish they delivered. I also wish they had online ordering or at least the prices of the pizza posted on their website. However, when I called in for pick up, and the person who picked up the phone was efficient and reasonably friendly. She even asked what color car my husband would be driving so they would know when he arrived, a touch I liked. Sadly, I found the pizza to be only okay. The cheese and sauce and crust were all pretty good (although the crust could have been thinner, in my opinion), but there was so much pepperoni, I couldn't really appreciate the pizza. They barely gave us any mushrooms. The pizza just became a salt bomb.

Great pizza. Kid friendly. Just needs more dessert options, especially for kids. Like Gelato or something...Only choice is cheesecake.

$42 for two people with no alcohol. One small salad split, one large pizza, two sodas that came in plastic bottles at three dollars apiece. No refills. Plastic plates and cups. Food was bland. No seasonings. Would expect Italian food to have Italian seasonings. Red sauce tasted like tomato sauce out of the can. Experience was bland. The waitstaff was fine but that was the only positive. Too many good pizza places to ever go back here again.

  • Kathleen S.

Pizza was barely passable...once it FINALLY arrived. More than an hour! I get that kitchens have bad nights, but the manager's attitude about our complaint was inexcusable. He said people usually get served in a timely manner. Yeah for them. Then when the pizza wasn't even good or thoroughly cooked he said he just wanted to "move forward". Well so do we. We won't be going back.

I've been here several times with wife and grandson, they really like the pizza, I think it's ok. Don't get me wrong, I like the pizza here, but it's not my first choice for pizza, although my wife love's the pizza. I think it's a bit pricy for the amount of pizza you get and it's not great second day pizza out of the fridge either...real bummer there. We tend to get the cheese pizza only due to the cost of extras on the pie.

Great pizza and fantastic wings. My only complaint is the bottle sodas come on get fountain drinks already and I would eat here more!

Awesome pizza... visited numerous times always enjoying the Paul & Young Ron pizza with sweet peppers. Inside the food is always served hot, and tasty. Called in and tried their curbside sevice last Sat evening and apparently so did everyone else. Arrived to find 4 cars waiting so my nephew went inside and found the pizza ready. Unfortunately the pizza was not hot 10 minutes later when we got home; will continued to dine in but pass on the pick up service.

I've been to Anthony's on Dale Mabry three times, trying new selections every time. The food is great and definitely worth the value. If you like meatballs, you will not be disappointed. The best value is the lunch single serve pizza which is deceiving because it's enough to easily feed two -- unless your a Buccaneer defensemen. By far my favorite is the chicken wings, full of flavor and crispy on the outside.

My husband loves all pizza. We have been to our share of pizza places. Anthony's is right at the top of the list. The service is always friendly. One of my all-time favorite salads is the Classic Italian Salad. We always add the gorgonzola cheese. Lettuce, eggs, chickpeas, olives, red onion, tomato, celery, and a wonderfully light Italian dressing. It is enormous and more than enough for two. We have tried most of the specialty pizzas. The Philly Cheesesteak and the Eggplant Marino are top-notch. Being a sandwich lover, I can also vouch for the Italian Tuna Salad.

We had a fabulous time! The waitress was so nice and attentive. A draft (Blue Moon) large pizza with 2 toppings and a soda ran us $25 and worth every penny! The waitress even gave us 2 free chicken wings to sample and explained their method of cooking and seasoning to us. Wonderful atmosphere and staff, great food. Happy hour 4-7!!!!!

Why 4 stars? Because this might be the best pizza in Tampa. --- --- --- I had heard people going crazy about Anthony's and it was on my to-do list for a while. Then I found out that it was actually a chain, so I was a little less excited to check it out, however, I still did want to see what the fuss was about. Chain or not, I was not disappointed at all! There's generally not a lot of variation in the taste of thin-crust pizza, in my opinion...but this was a whole new level of cheesiness. We had half pepperoni and half white pizza. Both were not to be missed. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. He heard us talking about the wings and even brought us out a couple to sample. I will admit, these were not my favorite, but "everything tastes better when it's free" is probably the most accurate cliche ever invented. Anthony's, you done good.

  • Alex P.

The coal fired pizza is delicious every time. It's a small place, but it's very inviting with friendly staff. The pizza is nice and crispy, almost like a thin-crust, but it's extremely flavorful with the coal giving it a unique taste.

Great pizza. The arugula pie cheese is awesome. Is only for two people, if you have kids you may want to order two large. Delicious gourmet pizza! Great atmosphere for family or date! Great beer too!

This is my second visit to Anthony's coal fired pizza, and there will be more visit in the future. The first visit I ordered their eggplant pizza, which i though it was very good, but my husband did not care about eggplant on his pizza, i guess it is an individual taste preference. This time we ordered the plump tomato, mozzarella cheese, and basil, we ask for extra basil to make it like margarita pizza since they did not have it on the menu, the server was very pleasant and the service couldnt been faster. I particularly like their thin and light crust, it doesnt feel heavy on the stomach.

I attended the #welldoneTBO tweet-up at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza last week and had a great time. The folks at Anthony's were amazing with the customer service. We got to try so many menu items, and all were amazing. The Philly Cheesesteak Pizza was my 10 year old's favorite. I loved the Cauliflower pizza...so buttery and garlicky and delicious (vegetarian). We also got to try the carmelized onion-smothered wings which were out of this world. Also tasted: meatballs, ribs, salad...all very good. We ordered off the menu a half and half pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. So good. If they had liquor on the menu I would have given them five stars (I'm just not a beer or wine person). Thanks for a great evening Anthony's! We'll be back.

Anthony, U r a bit tricky to find. U should get a bigger sign where the tree doesn't cover it. Thx for having an outside patio w the bar on both side. That's nice and convenient for ur patrons. Ur eggplant app, ribs, meatballs wings r quite tasty, but I did have some wings that were overdone. I tasted it the next day. The toppings on ur pizza were gd and also some diff ones like Philly steak pizza and broccoli Rabi or cauliflower pizza. Ur pizza was tastier than most pizzas I've eaten in Florida. Pls note b careful of timing the pizza in oven. At times I did taste that overdone coal taste. Nonetheless I was quite happy w u

Three of us went for lunch and we were seated promptly. Not many people here at the time but we were early. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and would have ordered a Coke had there been a fountain. My friend ordered iced tea and when it came out in a bottle, he promptly said, "no thanks." We all ordered water. Our server explained that the owner didn't like that different places had different water which would make the sodas taste differently so he only had bottles because they would always taste the same. Uh, no, get a soda fountain. My pizza was very good, a little bit more crispy than I like and perhaps a little bit more burnt than I like. I do like some burned edges, however. I thought the sauce was excellent. All it tasted like was tomatoes. Very good and like most pizza places in Italy. The lunch pizza was a lot bigger than I thought it would be but I ate it all. I would return but for takeout only. I have Coke at home that's a lot cheaper.

I love this place! My boyfriend and I visited for the first time last Sunday and will definitely be back. We ordered a large pie half Paul & Young Ron for him and Arugula for me. Let me just say... The Arugula pizza was outstanding and I think my mouth dropped when I saw what must have been a pound of arugula on there (pic for proof). I've heard they have great beer specials on Monday and Tuesday so...will probably check that out too! "The difference between your opinion and pizza is that I asked for pizza."

Not really impressed with this place. The pizza was just ok nothing to get excited about and not too sure I would recommend this place if someone asked. The waitress was really nice and gave us a few wings to try; those were really good! They have live music as well but when I'm eating dinner with my family I don't want to have to keep saying "what?"

No microwave, no fryer, and no condiments! Anthony's offers pizza the way it should be made! As a first timer here, the server pointed out all the goodness that Anthony's has to offer. I have always been a ricotta hater, this placed turned it all around for me! Hubby and I ordered a large pizza; 1/2 Meatball & Ricotta (his) and the other 1/2 Paul & Young Ron. The Paul & Young Ron is a best seller for them. It consists of meatballs, sausage, ricotta, and sweet or hot peppers. Yep - best flavor combination EVER! We paired the pizza with their Classic Italian Salad plus Gorgonzola Cheese. The salad is HUGE. You can easily feed 4 - 6 people on that one salad. We each had two slices and some salad - brought the rest home for lunch the following day. Heat the leftovers in a 400* oven for 8 minutes and it's almost as good as the day you ordered it! Oh - and if you like wings, give their coal oven roasted wings a try! They come smothered in onions. Our server brought us each a wing too try... DELISH!!

I had to try it twice before I entered a review. It is a lively place with good service and atmosphere. Both times the pizza was very salty (maybe they want you to drink more beer) and the pizza was oily. I gave it a chance.

Eggplant pizza was so yummy! Service was quick and very friendly. Half price drafts on Tuesday is nice. We will definitely be back.

Large signs warn that pizza here is "well done," meaning the thin white flour crust is burnt in the coal-fired oven. If you don't like the taste of carbon in your food, you cannot say you were not told in advance. We sat at the outdoor bar, which is a great spot along busy S. Dale Mabry Highway. The two Jai Alai IPA beers we had were $12, a bit excessive. But that's the high end of what many places charge now for craft beer. Our mini-meatball pizza was loaded with tiny, tasty "baby" meatballs, red sauce and ricotta cheese, plus the burnt crust. I liked it. I found it juicy and quite tasty. But $16.25 for a 12 inch pizza is getting up there, isn't it? I could have bought 6 pounds of hamburg at Publix for that price and made about 1000 baby meatballs at home. Still, I liked the atmosphere. The servers seemed to be competent and pleasant, a nice switch from what usually happens at new eateries in Tampa, featuring mostly ill-trained, ill-tempered kids. I would return for the rabe and sausage plate. True, no subs and only a couple of sandwiches, including, weirdly, a tuna sandwich. I would stay away at busier hours because the place is sort of tiny and I'm sure the waits are very long.

Hype is gone. Customers not as many. Came for lunch got in promptly and food came quickly and was delicious. They Did not have 20 people hovering over you either. Still hate the idea of serving sodas and tea in bottles! Get with the program! We have enough issues with plastics to be stupidly wasting them like that. Water for me!!! Put in a fountain machine!

Dined here last night with a large group from my neighborhood. We were visiting for a restaurant review and WOW were we ever treated to an awesome time! The staff were great - kept our water glasses filled, quickly brought fresh silverware when one guest dropped his (before he even had to ask for it!), explained every dish, even gave us some cool information on the coal pizza oven and history of Anthony's. The food: GREAT! We got to try about 75% of the menu and the stand-outs seem to be (by group consensus): the Mozzarella, Sliced Tomato and Basil pizza, the Eggplant Marino and the Paul & Young Ron pizza. Our group also enjoyed the Coal Oven Chicken Wings (a little too salty for my taste-buds), the Philly Cheesesteak pizza, the Broccoli Rabe & Italian Sausage and the Roasted Cauliflower pizza. Hmm, did I just list the whole menu? Pretty much. The other details: You have to like thin crust pizza, and pizza that's just a little burnt on the edges - fine by me! The atmosphere is very casual - they serve you on plastic plates, very clean, and very kid-friendly. I liked the look of the outside patio by the bar, which you can apparently reserve for a small private event. The sodas come in plastic bottles (NO! One star down!) which is neither eco-friendly nor better tasting - soda fountain girl, all the WAY! The beer and wine list was just "meh" but that's to be expected at such a casual place. And takeout boxes were styrofoam (BOO!) Also worth noting since it's not widely publicized, Happy Hour at Anthony's is Monday-Friday from 4-7 and they offer $1 off beers and glasses of wine. Everyone in our group had a great time and I didn't hear one complaint about the food or service. Me personally? I'll definitely be back for some more of the Eggplant Marino, the Broccoli Rabe and the Paul & Young Ron pizza.

This place is great! They know how to do pizza coal fired! Not only is the pizza great, but they have some of the best appetizers out there. The wings are awesome, never had anything like them. The spare ribs are also great and unique. The eggplant, the sausage/brocclirab, every appetizer is so delicious. I've even been to a wedding catered by these folks, and it was a huge hit there as well. Some of the reviews on Yelp just crack me up, talking about not having meatball subs and grinders. Dude, you can get a meatball sub from any strip center italian-american deli, Anthony's is not that kind of restaurant. They do right by all the food they serve. Yes, it get's crowded and loud and theres a wait if you go at 7PM on a friday. That comes with the territory. The area needs restaurants like this, people are realizing the olive gardens of the world are awful. Service will improve the longer they're open-ever tried getting 30 teenagers to do something at the same time? The location in Countryside operates like a well oiled machine, I'm sure this will do the same.

This is our "go to" pizza place. You really can't go wrong with anything. The Gorgonzola salad is simple, but awesome. Although I have a slight love affair with buffalo sauce, I don't miss it on their rosemary wings. As for pizza, you have to do the Paul and Young Ron or spring for the Cauliflower. They're out of control. Now we just need Anthony to man up and open one in St Pete!

I am a thin-crust kind of gal so this place is perfect. The pizza is fresh and the toppings are really creative. You can really taste the coal fire in the crust, it is perfectly thin and crispy. Also, the night I went, they were passing out "new" appetizers. I don't mind serving as a guinea pig as long as the food tastes good. I deducted one star because the place can be a bit cramped.

Great local pizza and decent beer selection. Despite a wait getting in, the service was pretty quick and the food's been great every time.

One star because I cannot post with no stars. Live one block away, LOVE pizza but will not even try due to plastic bottles instead of fountain drinks and fresh brewed tea. Our earth is more important than their convenience/laziness. Worst part is that it is a chain and this goes on at all locations.

This restaurant was converted from a former Boston Market restaurant. The owners poured a lot of money into the new decor with large flat-screen TVs, framed nostalgic photos of Hollywood movie legends and professional sports stars as well as a nice mahogany bar that also serves patrons seated outside. The pizza was good with a lot of pepperonis. Probably more pepperonis than cheese. The salad was just ok with lots of greek olives, onions and garbanzo beans. The menu items had limited choices and soft drinks were served in plastic bottles versus from a fountain. The restaurant had a nice family atmosphere.

I had the cauliflower pizza last night and it was seriously delicious. Roasted, garlicky cheesy goodness. A little salty, as the server pointed out beforehand, but not unpleasantly so. Decent beer selection and you can sample if you can't decide, and Happy Hour! Go early it gets busy. We've also tried the wings at the Carrollwood location and they are tasty, especially with the caramelized onions on top. I appreciate the noise level too, it's lively but not ear drum splitting like Chilis. Bottom line? Great pizza with limited but excellent choice of toppings, friendly service and not too many children Win!

This was my third visit to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza and it was wonderful as usual. I used my foursquare check in to get a sample of the wings which are ridiculously delicious! I also had the tomato and mozzarella salad which was a good sized portion and very filling. The tomatoes were plump, juicy and fresh. The mozzarella was creamy and just perfect. Service was stellar, especially sine we were a party of 13. I will be back again and again.

I was recently in Tampa for business and I stumbled across this restaurant. I could not decide between the cauliflower or eggplant pizza. My waitress was so friendly and helpful, i asked her to surprise me as I was having a tough time choosing. She brought me the Cauliflower Pizza with a side of eggplant. It was so refreshing to receive great food and great service. I will definitely make this my stop when I'm back in town for business. Thank you for the great food great service and awesome dining experience..

Really enjoyed this pizza. Well done with burnt edges from a coal fired oven and the sausage and pepperoni were flavorful and spicy. I've had a sweeter sauce but still a very good pie. I didn't dine in but their ambiance is calling me back. It's casual but nice with a huge photo of Audrey Hepburn, an attractive bar and patio and a few tvs sprinkled throughout. Plus, craft beers are half off Monday and Tuesday and Friday(which also include half off wine by glass, too).

We have been driving up to Carrollwood to the other Anthony's location for a few years now, and we are thrilled that they are finally in South Tampa! No, this is not your usual generic pizza joint - the pizza is well done in their coal fired oven, and you can get unique and really tasty specialty pies, like broccoli rabe and sausage (my personal favorite), cauliflower or Philly Cheese Steak. Their wings are incredible - but don't expect Hooters type wings...no buffalo sauce here, just Italian seasoning and a heaping helping of grilled onions. They also have salad, sandwich and calzone options, and a really cool bar area.

Got the chicken sandwich and it was nothing great, that's what i get for getting a chicken sandwich at a pizza place. So i had some of my friends pizza and wings and they were pretty good. The pizza is well done, nice and crispy and the wings are very tasty.

1st off NEVER trust an "Italian" pizza place that doesn't have grinders or meatball subs. Also never go to a pizza place and get a sandwich. The roasted chicken with broccoli rabe was bland however the focaccia was good. I'm going to have to try the pizza and wings to make a determination as to if this place will last or die a slow long painful death

Excellent coal fired pizza. Get the traditional pie. You won't regret it

Four words: Paul and Young Ron! This pizza is delicious... the meatballs, peppers, and ricotta make it original and it has been perfect every time. So happy there is finally one of these in South Tampa. I happen to love the thinner crust and charring that happens with the fire. Yes, it's different from your typical pizza but I am very okay with that. Definitely worth a try.

we have eaten here a number of times and the food and service has improved with each visit. last time we asked if the pizza could be less charred as the boys don't like it this way and it came out perfect. love the happy hour after 5! we will go back for sure.

I love the pizza here! The service in the restaurant is great and I often use curb side too. I eat at Anthony's at least once a week. I think folks forget about this place at lunch. They are fast and prices are reasonable.

Best pepperoni pizza in South Tampa hands down. I took one star away because I like an extra thin crust and when I request one they always come back with the same answer... "that's how we make 'em." That being said, the coal fired crust they serve up is delicious. Thin-ish, crisp, and buttery perfection. The sauce is tangy, and full of juicy bits of tomato, not just a marinara like other pies I've tried. They go heavy on the pepperoni, but It tastes divine! I've only ordered take-out, so I can't comment on the staff or overuse of plastic bottles some other folks seem to be worried about, but if you're looking for a good tasty pizza, this is a "go-to" spot! I may just order it tonight after writing this review! Yum!

I have to say it is a neat place to go. The atmosphere is nice the service was good. I ordered a sausage pizza and plain cheese pizza. The crust was exactly what it was, coal fired. Nice and crispy. Our biggest disappointment was the sauce. It had a bitter flavor to it. That put a damper on the pie. We had the same experience at another location. To me its the sauce that makes the pie.

To start with the staff there are fantastic. The family salad was very generous and tasty the wings were a different play on wings and very good . The pizza had flavorful and plentiful toppings and the crust was cooked to perfection . I will definitely go back to enjoy again

I rarely eat pizza, but one trip here left my taste buds jumping for join. Delicious, thin crust--crispy and charred to perfection. Who knew a chain could finally get it right.

We loved the food, service and decor! The minute we walked in for a late lunch we were greeted with a huge smile and a warm welcome from the manager. Our server, Christina (i think that was her name) was delightful. The beer selection was great. We had the chicken rabe sandwhich and pepperoni pizza. The sandwhich was very good, on tasty foccacia bread. The pizza was superb! We love the "well done" taste. We will definately be back. One problem we may have is our 7 year old is very picky and we didn't see a chidren's menu.

We ate here on a Thursday night and the place was packed. Service was slow and our waiter somewhat rude. We ordered a small pizza with Italian sausage and a small Greek salad. Both were great. The salad was made with quality ingredients and was more than enough for 2 people. The coal fired oven really makes a difference in the texture of the crust. Best pizza in south Tampa. Next time we'll get a little more creative on the toppings. Like a previous reviewer said, this place is loud. Lots of kids too. Our small simple pizza, salad, 2 beers, and 2 glasses of wine came to $53 before tip which is a lot of money for pizza-night out. Given the noise, rude waiter, and high cost of beverages, we'll do take-out from on.
