Went here for first time on A Friday night. Arrived at 7:30pm & we were promptly seated to our surprise. Interior design is gorgeous, ambiance is fantastic & food was delicious! Our waiter was excellent & guided us thru the menu, which offers a large selection of appetizers, entrees, salads & gyros/wraps. Our friends ordered the appetizer sampler which consisted of 4 different dips/spreads (hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki & grape leave wraps). We ordered tzatziki with pita triangles. Both apps were delicious! I ordered gyro with roasted Mediterranean veggies, hubby ordered lamb souvlaki gyro, friends ordered tabbouleh salad & Greek salad. Everything came out hot, very fresh & very prompt. On to dessert... cappuccino with baklava... yum! Very good dinner & prices were reasonable. Service was excellent! Entertainment was belly dancer, Greek/Mediterranean music & staff dancing & throwing napkins & breaking plates... very fun atmosphere! Definitely will do this one again!

It is a good family friendly environment. The menu is large and there are a lot of options to choose from. It's a chain and the food is consistent.

Great and festive atmosphere! Service is always fantastic and the food is wonderful. My kids really enjoy the dancing and napkin throwing! On the weekends they also have a belly dancer and live music. We thoroughly enjoy our evenings spent here, it truly is a great dinning experience.

The food is really good and pretty authentic Greek! The service is good and prices are very reasonable. Almost every hour during dinner times the waiters dance around the restaurant and they throw napkins and scream opa. Super fun for kids and adults!

Okay, it was late and few places were open, luckily this cool Greek restaurant was open. It was a mess when I got there with broken dishes in buckets and napkins all over the floor, yet the place was empty. It seems that earlier in the night, this place was party central and this party would take a long time to clean up. I started with a side of Greek salad, good, fresh but not special. The dressing was special and while I am not normally a dressing guy, their house dressing was fantastic. Next came some really yummy bread with phenomenal dipping sauces made of whipped feta. I could eat this by the bucket, but the amount they had matched the amount of bread perfectly. For my main entree i chose Chicken kabobs, which was a hostess recommendation and a Yelp tip. The kabobs were plentiful ands lightly over cooked but the flavors were amazing. It came with orzo, but there was so much food I barely touched it. No room for dessert and since I was traveling, no leftovers but I assure you that I could only eat half of my kabobs.

This is the first time I've eaten at this restaurant and I really enjoyed it. They have amazing customer service and the food is great. I would definitely recommend the lamb.

Amazing Hookah ! Try the Mint flavor. This place is beautiful! Just a heads up, no smoking inside, outdoor seating only. When I go back to Florida, I will be returning !

Took my parents and their friends here. They were not all very versed on Greek food, but totally loved it. They especially liked their lamb chops which is not my taste but they said it was nicely seasoned. I ordered fish plaki and that was pretty good. Chicken santorini is pretty good as well but if you like a lot of sauce on your pasta, this order might not be the one for you. Others ordered gyros and appetizers of saganaki and calamari. Both good, and the calamari was good size. The atmosphere is nice and we especially like the outside where pets are welcome. If it is your birthday, come here and they will sing to you and give you baklava. The Baklava is crazy sweet though. It was a good evening and all were happy and satisfied. The price was not bad either and their are prices in each price level.

Pretty nice place overall. We went during lunch time the servers lag a little bit but they are nice. I was a little disappointed about the "Greek fries" they are just simple fries with a little feta... Wouldn't say they are worth $2. I had the shrimp wrap and it cost $7 and I only got 4 pieces of shrimp but It was pretty tasty but not exactly a good deal. They do have a nice covered outside eating area but we decided to sit inside. We plan to come back and try their hookah selection. They offer a 10% military discount which is nice as well but omits alcohol.

This place is loud and fun, good for happy hour or group meals. There is live music and periodically the staff break into dance and throw napkins and even smash a plate (into a trash can). Think of this place as the TGIF of Greek food. The Greek food is okay, a little generic and unoriginal. There is also a smattering of Mediterranean food (hummus, baba ganoush) and just standard American fare (spinach dip). I think the lunch and dinner menus are the same since we were there for dinner and there were wraps and sandwiches available. Most of the dinner plates were around $12. Portions were large. I had the Chicken Rhodes, and I could only finish half. The wine sauce was a little salty, probably because of the artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes.

Acropolis is without a doubt one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and so tasty and on certain nights of the week there is live entertainment. My kids (ages 7, 8, and 9) LOVE to eat here, and when the wait staff starts dancing and throwing napkins, the huge smiles on my kids faces lets me know that I made a good choice for dinner!

Stopped in after visting theme park, it was late at night and they were open late on a week day. Service was good, Music was good, Food was good. A/C was REAL cold. I would love to go here again someday.

Terrible service. The food was good but our waitress kept forgetting what we ordered and wouldn't check to see if we needed anything like drink refills, etc. It took forever to flag her down and grab our bill. For that reason, I give this place a two.

Went here for lunch today, Really nice, quiet atmosphere, wait staff was a little on the slow side, but attentive. Had the Psari Mahi Mahi, which was excellent! Would definitely go here again.

While traveling I experienced my first visit to a Greek restaurant, overall it was a good experience with one exception, we ordered the Mixed Grill with Lamb Chops, kabobs of Chicken, Greek Meatballs and Souvlaki and a side of Spinach Orzo and Greek Salad. The one problem was the Chicken must have been cook for a LONG time; it was VERY dry and tough. The service was SUPER.

I've been to this location a couple of times - very good food. The service is OK - the staff seems to have a good amount of turnover. It's right off the campus nearby. My daughter ordered a hamburger that came out with cheese which was disappointing. The waitress saw us trying to scrape the cheese off of her sandwich and didn't check in or offer to take it off the bill. We did end up getting her buffalo chicken tenders off the app menu instead and they were very good. Not something I would have ordered from a Greek place, but I'll get them when I go back. The chicken is enormous, juicy and the buffalo sauce is just right. The salads and sandwiches are all worth trying. We tried the stuffed mushroom appetizer this weekend and they were HUGE! (Yummy too). Drinks are BOGO (I think from 4-7) and I had a spiked iced tea with raspberry vodka - a little sweet but again delish. We enjoyed live bazouki, Greek dancing and overall it was a nice evening - even with the little burger hiccup.

Worst Greek food I had in a long time. Had tzatziki which tasted like sour cream with a dash of oil and one slide of cucumber. no garlic, no texture. The lamb for the gyro looked like it came out of a can, all the same size, not crispy, semi-warm. oh, and they had run out of retsina at 9pm on a Sunday night. The one person entertainer was sad and the music when he went on break even worse until someone thought to change the CD. Given the location, I wish we had gone elsewhere.

Food is good. Prices are fair. Too bad I can't usually hear myself think in here, let alone sustain a conversation. And it gets worse. Every now and then they crank the audio to bleeding-from-the-ears loud and start throwing napkins all over everything. One landed on my food as I was trying to eat dinner, and nobody ever seems to bother to sweep the napkins up, so the dining room floor is covered with garbage. Gross!

Food is good, prices are good. But for not being busy, service was quite slow. Took 10 minutes to get my virgin strawberry daiquiri. Close to that to get coffee. Waiter was attentive while with us there but would disappear for quite awhile. But the food portions were huge and delicious. Had a fun time throwing the napkins around the restaurant and was very entertaining when the wait staff danced around the restaurant. If nothing, the place puts a smile on your face

Great Greek food and reasonability priced! Started out with the lemon soup which was by far the best I've had in awhile and then got the Greek salad which surprisingly didn't come with potato salad underneath, (I don't know if it was a fluke or not; I forgot to ask about it) Also, the wait staff randomly dances which is always fun!

After dining at the Acropolis last night I am sticking with my 3 star rating. My wife and I ordered two apps, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp saganaki. The mushrooms were over cooked and bland but the shrimp was delicious. For dinner I ordered the red snapper with a side Greek salad which was a $2 up charge. It was seasoned well and cooked to perfection and the salad was well dressed plus a nice presentation. My wife ordered chicken Rhodes which was somewhat dry, she said it was over cooked. Her Greek potatoes were cold which were sent back in exchange for fresh hot potatoes in a warm dish. The service was lackluster, slow getting my wife her bar order and generally non attentive to our table and it being a slow night. With all this, it is not a 4 or 5 star restaurant but it is not a bad place for an occasional dinner. As the name implies, it is a Greek Taverna. The prices are in line with most restaurants and maybe a little higher than your locale sports pub that serve greasy hamburgers and warm beer. So with all this being said, I will keep Acropolis on my list knowing what to expect in a 3 star atmosphere. One other thing, I wish the parking lot was bigger.

I have come here four times now-twice with family and twice with a group of friends. No, Acropolis doesn't compare to the restaurants in Tarpon Springs food wise, but I love the breaking of the plates and the throwing of the napkins, and service is a bit better. The Saganaki is tough as can be and has no flavor. It is very difficult to put the melted cheese on pita bread, especially when sharing it. It feels like you're in a tug of war. Their tzatziki is wonderful either with pita, or with the gyros. The Avgolemono soup (chicken, lemon, egg based) is really good. The Greek salad is okay, but a little heavy on the oil, not enough tang in the dressing for my taste, and would be nice if they would use a few more fresh herbs instead of all dried ones. The Dolmades aren't bad, but I've had better. The lamb chops (I tried them twice on separate visits) are horrible. They came out blood rare and cold and when they were sent back, just for a little more cooking, they returned tough as can be. I suspect from my own home cooking trials this is due to poor quality of the lamb chops or cooking technique. The orzo and the vegetables that came with our meals are consistently mouth watering good and I wish I knew how to do that. This place caters a little bit more to the younger crowd as it is close to the university, but you see all age groups and walks of life here. I highly recommend this restaurant

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! Let me tell you, I am foodie and when I first feasted at this establishment I wasn't sure what I was going to get. I decided on the greek salad. WHOA BABY!!! This greek salad was the best dang greek salad I have put in my pie hole in since I was stationed over seas while serving in the military!!!! No joke ... I figured ... okay ... let's try this place again ... I took my Better Half and again! WHOA BABY ... this was the best gyro I put in my face since EVER! The staff is friendly, the prices are excellent and I got full off of happiness and greek food! WINNNING! So happy I live down the street from one of these spots! MUST TRY ... you will be back. Food is decent, but not as authentic as I would like. I'm not a fan of the cheesy dancing and napkin throwing, but I guess if this is what you need in your life, knock yourself out.

My father and I felt like eating out, so we came to this plaza in hopes of grabbing food at Mr. Dunderbak's, but it was closed for the evening (should've checked their hours!). So instead, we came to Acropolis since it was next door and we both enjoy Greek food. I ordered the Gyro Platter while my father ordered one of the entrees and Greek fries. The food was slow coming out, but it was still warm, so no problem. The gyro platter was filling, but the meat was dry and very salty. I wasn't too impressed by the quality of the food, which was further cemented when I tried my father's entree. The fries also were kind of dry and considered "Greek" just because of some feta cheese sprinkled on top. While the food here was passable, there are definitely better and cheaper options around as long as you don't care about the ambiance. Acropolis is a sit-down restaurant, so in a way you're paying for that experience too. The night we were there, they did the traditional breaking of plates, "opa" chanting, and line dancing, which created a very festive atmosphere. Some complaints, though, are that this restaurant is very dimly lit, making it hard to read the menu, and the music being played by the man at the keyboard is overwhelmingly loud. My father and I couldn't even hold a conversation because we couldn't hear each other. This place is definitely much better suited for a family or group celebration than a quiet dinner, which I will definitely be keeping in mind.

I called in a take out order and it was almost ready when I arrived, which was a plus. The place looks nice and the bartender was quite friendly and provided water for the short wait. I'm a huge fan of dolmades, and only ordered two appetizers. While the rest of their menu might be amazing (not sure since I didn't try anything else), their dolmades are horrible. I've eaten them at many greek restaurants, and these were a bit pricer than normal. They were served cold, and I prefer them served hot. The main issue was that they were tiny and very mushy/soggy. If I hadn't been really hungry, I wouldn't have even eaten them. I split them with my mom, and she was equally unimpressed.

Horrible restaurant - served rotten fish. We dined outdoors - we should have realized something was up when they brought the fish to the table and a flock of 50-60 black flies descended on us - they must have smelled the decaying fish. I thought the fish tasted off but thought it was a bad combination of seasoning so we finished the fish. Later that evening we both got raging diarrhea. When we told the concierge at the hotel, she informed us that this place was recently cited for MAJOR health department violations. For your health sake - STAY AWAY !!!!

We sat out in the front terrace. And you think they would remember you. In fact, when they recommended if we would like to sit there, I almost retorted with "Will you forget us?", but didn't. Looking back I should have. Minus that, it was an OK experience. I would recommend to not sit on the front terrace if you want service. But if you want a slow night (e.g., dessert and coffee) then front terrace is key.

I've always been a fan of Acropolis, but for some reason, this time it just didn't hit the mark. We went on a Friday for lunch, and service was just sub-par. It took a long time to get just about anything - drinks, bread, our orders taken, etc. Once we got our food, it was definitely delicious. I always get the chicken souvlaki, which never disappoints. This time, I ordered a side of fries as well, which were tasty. They are the long fat steak fries. They were a little soggy, and probably could have been cooked just a little longer. I'm not going to let one so-so experience affect my thoughts of Acropolis. I've always enjoyed it other than this time.

I have always loved acropolis. They have great Greek food and the best sangria around. I do prefer their other locations over this one though. The food was not as great as it has been at the other locations, the service was slow, and they even messed up the orders. Overall I think acropolis is a great place but it depends where you go and which waiter you get.

My wife and I recently visited for lunch and decided to share an appetizer and a salad. The food was great and we had just the right amount of food. When the bill arrived, I was surprised to see a $2 fee because we shared a salad? When asked about the charge, the waitress apologized and said that was their policy. I'm sorry too, we will never be back.

We just had dinner. It was great! We had the gyro platter and the chicken soulvalki platter. Too much food. Our waiter Dylan was great. To end our dinner they did a dance, broke dishes and threw napkins in the air. Thank you. Not to mention the 2x1 drinks. Fresh, fresh food.

You have two choices for Greek food in this very complex. Louis Pappas and Acropolis, both of which are on opposite ends of the strip mall coincidentally. It depends what you are feeling that night is how I look at both establishments. If you want a more upscale experience (without the pretentious upscale dress code and awkwardness) go to Acropolis. What I like: Their octopus particularly is awesome, so is their lamb, and so is their hummus platter. The wait stuff is fun, the bartenders are nice, and the restaurant is authentically Greek (as Tampa has a HUGE Greek population, second to Cubans I believe residing in the city, and so you can imagine what the standards for Greek cuisine would be). Overall, solid place. Go give it a try.

My friend had her birthday dinner here and service seemed to be pretty good. Everyone enjoyed their meals, I think the only complaint was that they took someone's food before they could have it boxed up, but besides that they brought out the birthday cake and did a good job with making the birthday girl feel special I believe, even doing their customary napkin toss all around. The time I was here before this event I was last Winter, they had the hookah tent setup and the inside of the place was completely empty, but everyone outside was really enjoying themselves and the music playing was some catchy Reggaeton music.

We had 2 for 1 red and white sangrias during their happy hour, hummus, and a chicken wrap. The sangrias were great and I enjoyed the hummus (good but I've had better) but didn't really like the wrap. The restaurant had a gentleman playing greek music when we arrived, which was pleasant and fun to listen to. The restaurant is also littered with napkins everywhere - cool effect but you have to wonder how clean the floor is and it seems a bit dangerous because people can slip on them. The place turns into a club at 10PM along with really loud music and arrogant bouncers. I enjoyed eating here until 10PM and was eager to leave once the music started blasting. Come before or after 10PM depending on your taste and what atmosphere you are looking for.

Stopped by for lunch. No hookahs spotted, and so decided to sit outside. Took a break from the spicy odor and the noise prevalent inside. Had the Kibbe as my entree. Awesome fried ground meat and lentil patties. It came with hummus and a side of tabulleh salad. Got some tzatziki sauce on the side to complement the dish. Excellent lunch... now time for my siesta (I wish)!

We have a stay at home gramma klatch that gets together for lunch and we chose this because I love gyros (yee rohs). We were there for early lunch so the place was quiet and we could gab. The server was sweet and prompt and didn't bother us while we were gabbing. The food is excellent. They need to update their Facebook page more often though!

Love this place. Although we do mostly carry out from here the restaurant also provides a realistic Greek atmosphere. The food is spotty at best. Some times it's fantastic and others it is dry and stale. The later in the evening the better the food.

Fantastic Spot. Visiting from Orlando for the Renaissance Fair. So glad we chose this yelp recommend. Food was fantastic tried the Moussaka, Pasticio, Gyro Platter, Appetizer Sampler, and the to die for Lemon Chicken Soup. Every thing was amazing. It was crowded but great atmosphere. Wonderful service, very accommodating. Loved the entertainment. Servers doing the traditional zorba dance through the restaurant, sensual and delightful belly dancer and the musician was so good I wished he had some CD's to sell so I could have his music to be transported back here when I try to replicate their Lemon Chicken Soup Recipe. Come here! You won't regret it.

If you savor mushrooms, you have to try the fried mushrooms here. And I love the mousaka as well. Probably the only decent hang out place in the usf area that has good food, nice ambience and hookah

Prepare for loud music, crashing plates, and napkin throwing. This place gets very crazy and very noisy! My favorite here is the Chicken Rhodes; fourteen bucks gets you some incredible grilled chicken breast topped with all kinds of goodness. I've also tried a few of the wraps, which are good if you're looking to eat cheaply. The buffalo chicken wrap is decent. The food here is great, but the restaurant is a little too wild and noisy for my enjoyment. Buy--hey--if you're the kind of person who really likes crazy places, you will love the Acropolis.

I was treated to dinner here on my birthday. My friend had been here for lunch several times and thought it would be fun got dinner. Fun, young wait staff, with lots of energy and desire to please the guests. Enjoyed the music and the "Zorba the Greek" dancing by the staff and the napkin toss. Saginaki "flaming cheese" delicious as was the Spanakopita "spinach pie". My friend had the grilled chicken. Very happy with the entire experience.

Terrific all around! Great humus. Great dessert. 2 for 1 sangria and margaritas. The sangria is delicious and the margaritas are decent. The music is really fun and energetic, and our server was extremely friendly, attentive, and attractive. I can't wait to return!

Greek food isn't so much my cup of tea, but there's some great selections here that really get me hungry. Plus this can be a fun place on certain nights of the week when it feels more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Depending on the night that you go, you can find a totally different atmosphere. I've been there with a DJ and a full on dance floor, and I've been for lunch and really enjoyed the roast beef sandwich in an atmosphere that makes it seem like a corporate lunch spot. And I've also done the hookah nigh out on the patio, which can be a lot of fun if you're with a group. The filet is very good, and the appetizer platter is far superior than your usual bar food "dropped in a fryer" fare. I'm probably not the best person to ask on the authenticity or flavor of Greek cuisine, but I've enjoyed everything I've tried. The plate tossing and napkin throwing are a bunch of fun as well. It's not every evening, but on the ones they do it it can really add to the atmosphere. A definite winner in New Tampa!

Acropolis is AWESOME! Every time I go to Tampa I make sure to go have the Aleppo Chicken Salad, the best salad I have ever eaten. Lightly breaded chicken, crisp greens, cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, fantastic Mediterranean cheese, great house dressing, and a really yummy green sauce on the chicken. The lemon chicken soup is also OUTSTANDING. I had Acropolis cater a lunch for 20 and they did a great job (delivered right on time, setup, and the food was hot and tasty). This place is truly fantastic!

We've been here a few times, great food options at reasonable prices. Calamari is great, never rubbery. Sandwiches are pretty good too. Salads are good. Flaming cheese is cool. Desserts are yummy. If you come on the weekend, there is usually a live music player (greek music) which makes you feel like you're in Greece. Also, the belly dancer isn't bad either. We really enjoy when the waiters dance around the throw napkins to the ceiling. 2 for 1 drink specials is an added bonus. Oozo very tasty. Hookah available (we've never tried). Good service. Outdoor seating is quite pleasant. Free valet parking :)

Been here a few times. The food is consistently good, and we always leave with leftovers. I love the saganaki appetizer. The belly dancer, the dancing staff, and the flinging of napkins makes it fun. It gets pretty crowded on weekend evenings. A solid neighborhood place but I wouldn't make a special trip if I didn't live nearby.

Went for lunch and my gyro and pita fries were delicious. I heard from the waitress that on certain nights it is a dance club atmosphere. Will attempt another trial to see what the atmosphere is at that time.

Pros: AMAZING dining experience, great belly dancers, great food. Cons: dirty restrooms. Details: This place defines a great festive restaurant experience. Live music, belly dancers shaking it around the tables, they get people involved, no matter if they're young or old. The food is plentiful and each dish has the right touch to it. If you like meditteranean food, this is the place for it. Usually at some point in the evening, all the waiters and waitresses put their hands on each others shoulders and dance around the entire restaurant and fling white paper napkins into the air. It feels like you're in a mini carnival. After dinner, sit outside, order dessert and smoke hookahs...there's so much fun in everything in this place has to offer. Whenever I visit Tampa, I make sure that I always visit Acropolis. Very highly recommended.

Ate here for dinner. Excellent food. Good size portions. A bit loud inside. We had a new server who was just learning the ropes but all good. Good prices too! The napkin thing is a bit wasteful...you'll see. :)

This place looked really nice inside. I can definitely see how it could get packed on the weekends and be a lot of fun to hang out at. We went near closing on a Monday night so there wasn't much going on. The server was really friendly and didn't make us feel rushed at all. I had a sangria and the veggie appetizer combo. The sangria was great, it was 2 for 1. The appetizer was pretty good containing babaganoush, yogurt, humus, grapeleaves, and another humus-like dish, served with warm pita. The babaganoush was very salty, but the rest of the dishes were good. Cool place, I'd like to visit again when its got stuff going on.

The question you must ask yourself when you come to Acropolis Bar & Grill is can you handle too much of a good thing? While Tarpon Springs is well known for its Greek community, the Tampa Bay Area more broadly has a pretty decent sized Greek population. As a result, one would hope to find good Greek food in the area. I was not, however, expecting to find such a gem in a small suburban strip mall near Tampa Palms. This place has a great outdoor seating area, equipped with a comfy couch, for those nice early summer evenings in Tampa. The inside is equipped with a decent sized bar area, and the restaurant has ample seating. A small minus for the small sized tables, but the food makes up for this shortcoming. I ordered the Octopus appetizer. Fantastic. The Octopus is steamed until pink and tender, and seasoned with olive oil, pepper, and cilantro. Very tasty. As for the entrees, I tried the lamb and beef schwarma platter. It is served with pita triangles and a fresh Greek Salad. The ingredients are super fresh, and everything was well seasoned. Beware...the portions are huge. The restaurant is very generous with the portions, and the price for quality and quantity can't be beat. Ten dollars for this lamb and beef schwarma. Also tried the pork skewers, which were a tad dry. Service was also a plus. Very friendly. I will definitely return to this place. Opa !!!

The only bad thing I can say of this place is that the napkin thing seems quite wasteful. I sure hope they recycle. However, when it comes to their food, you won't find better Greek food in Tampa. Their salad dressing is beyond delicious. I'm not sure if it's homemade but I always take a lot home with me because it is so amazing. The prices are not bad in my opinion even though I have had good Greek food for less. Hands down you should give this place a try!

April 16th 2008 Lunch What a place! We were out here on business and we were treated to lunch at this fine dining establishment. From my past experience with Greek food, I never really cared for it. Maybe it is because there is not a decent one in my town. First off, this place was pretty big so I thought that this place must do good business. I ordered the Batroun Chicken Salad which is the following: Seasoned grilled chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, red peppers, roasted pine nuts, goat cheese, served with their own house dressing for $10 bucks. It took a while for the salad to come because everyone else at the table wanted to order appetizers. Warning: Do not partake in the appetizers if you want to finish your entree. We ordered so much appetizers that I could not possibly tell you what we ordered. What I do remember is the Cheese Flambe. You have to order this dish to really get the experience of what that dish has to offer. You get a "flaming" hot show, on top of a tasty treat! When my salad arrived after dishes upon dishes of appetizers I was greeted by a gigantic size salad! Mind you, I am a large size Asian Man with an appetite and this salad scared me! Chicken was well cooked and tasty, pine nuts added that nutty taste needed in salads, and the cucumbers and dressing really rounded off the dish. The only thing I didnt like was some sort of wrapped grape leaf with something stuffed in it. The taste of that was to strong but I loved the salad! This place was a very memberable place to dine and I look forward to going back to Tampa to enjoy another meal there.

Went last night for a late dinner.. and considered it a very unique experience. The food and service is incredible. I had the Grape Salad and Sangria - both of which were served in very large portions at a great price. Our drinks were never empty. This could have possibly been a 5 star review had it not been for the INCREDIBLY loud music. The music inside was done by a DJ and half of the restaurant was apparently set up to be a nightclub with dancing. It just would have been nice to be able to hear what my date was saying the whole time. I'd absolutely suggest this place for lunch, as I assume they aren't going for the nightclub approach, or if your there for dinner - sit outside, its a lot quieter. Two entrees, two sangrias came to $26, so the price was great too!

I've been to quite a few "authentic" Greek restaurants, but Acropolis is the only one that always impresses. I've been for lunch and dinner, though the ambiance during dinner is more chaotic. Napkins get thrown everywhere, loud authentic Greek music is played live, and bell dancers come around enticing for tips. The food is excellent though and it's a fun night out with friends.

Excellent food, a little dark in there and kind of slow for a Thursday evening. They threw napkins all over and the staff sang and danced. Some dude was playing music in the corner. entertaining place to eat.

I ate lunch here yesterday with my dad. The ambiance inside is eclectic and colorful; the staff is pleasant and attentive as well. I had a salmon salad chocked full of veggies, walnuts, cheese, and of course...salmon. A slightly creamy/perfect amount of sweet mango dressing to top it off made this a fresh and healthy lunch option. Our lunch also came with a lightly butter brushed four to five piece loaf of bread with a Greek dipping sauce. Reasonably priced and an overall delightful culinary experience.

I had my birthday party there sunday. Everyone had a great meal & a fun time. I went there a couple of years ago and they really fixed go it up. They need to give you more calimary and smelt for the money but everything else is great.

Acropolis is one of Andrew's favorite restaurants. The Sharwma platter (one of the most popular dishes) is huge! Prices are very reasonable and decor is very chic. The goatcheese is amazing, the wraps are filling, and dancing and plate breaking is entertaining. You can't go wrong with Acropolis.

Nice locally owned place amid many chain restaurants. Food is great. Service is sometimes slow, regardless of how busy they are.

Cool staff. Bomb ass food for CHEAP!!! Especially considering the perfect mix between Old greek and modern sleek ambiance. This a good treat for those who like house music as tasteful as there food. This place conquers both.

Arrived after the show (belly dancer, napkin throwing, etc.), but made it in time for the two for the price of margaritas and sangria. My cousin and sister preferred the Sangria over the margaritas. If you like your margaritas on the stronger side then it's right up your alley. I had the gyro and it was filling and scrumptious. My cousin had the meal for four, but the serving size is more for two or maybe three if you eat spanish serving sizes (ha!). My nephew had the meatballs with pasta and he absolutely loved the meatballs and was requesting more. What really won them the five star review was the service we received from the serve, Marco. Marco was just delightful. He gave us the best service we have ever received. He made great recommendations, had a great smile, pleasant personality, and provided quick service. Kudos to you Marco! And thank you again for the wonderful experience you provided at Acropolis

I think of Acropolis as the Americanized version of Greek food since their recipes are a bit different from traditional Greek you might get at the Sponge Docks (I'm looking at you, moussaka). That being said, Acropolis has my favorite Greek food in the area. It's super convenient for people who work late because they are one of the only restaurants in the near area that is open super late all the time. Kudos! Portions are always large, so I always end up having leftovers to bring home. The food here definitely gets 4-5 stars. Plates you can't go wrong with: Acropolis salad, moussaka, pasticio, and chicken rhodes. Their falafel appetizer is also delicious! So why 3 stars? For one, this place gets scary on Friday and Saturday nights; we've witnessed it and try to avoid it at all costs. Acropolis can't help that it's popular and that the parking lot here really sucks it big time. But the thing that gets me the most is that we only go super late on the weekdays and the service is always weird. There are only usually a hand full of tables filled when we're there, but the waiters/waitresses we end up getting either forget something, take forever to get our drinks, or just don't really ever show up to our table. It is the strangest thing. Don't get me wrong, they have always been incredibly nice and the food is always killer, but I just think it's bizarre to get such spotty service when the restaurant is empty. Regardless, we continue to come back here because it is delicious!

Came to Acropolis for a graduation lunch today and really enjoyed the food. In the past I usually get the chicken gyro which tastes delicious and is very filling. Today my boyfriend and I decided to "splurge" and we tried the mixed grill which came with 2 sides. Is serving size was for 4 people which seems pretty accurate because we had a lot left over. The mixed grill had a some Shish Kabob, Chicken Kabob, Lamb Chops, Greek Meatballs, and Pork Souvlaki. All the different meats had their own unique delicious flavor and was cooked to perfection. I was starting to feel full after eating about 2 pieces of meat and the roasted veggies. The atmosphere is very fun and enjoyable. It was exciting to see people dancing around and throwing napkins. Its a great place for big groups to go out to lunch or dinner. :)

Live Greek music too loud. Decent menu. Good service - napkins all over the floor!!! But wait, napkins on the floor and broken dishes and dancing are all a Greek tradition - as we found out later during our meal. Can't explain here - go there yourself and experience it!! Oh, by the way, the food was quite good and service excellent. I had a multi course special with several Greek food samplings and all were very good. My wife's Falafel wrap was very tasty and extra plentiful. Overall, we recommend you give it a try! Note: live music was still too loud!! Oh yes. I can't forget Nicola our server. Only been there 3 days and already doing a great job.

Fun atmosphere decent food at decent prices. by far, not very authentic greek food. I believe the taziki sauce is a little off. I think it is mostly sour cream rather than Greek yogurt. the sangria is also quite bad but its tampa

The lamb chops are to die for - medium is just right! We have come here several times now and we have yet to have a dish we didn't like. Last night we had the octopus from the appetizer section, and while they have calamari list too- the dishes are completely different. Personally, I found the octopus a thousand times better. The octopus is marinated for a few days prior to preparation and is then grilled with some olive oil and served promptly- to die for in my opinion. The lamb chops are tradition preparation but on the thicker side compared to other places. The meat has always been tender and melts in your mouth. There is also a special Greek version that is served occasionally (and you can always ask if the kitchen will prepare for you when not reflected on the menu) and has the chops grilled and prepared with feta on top- you cannot go wrong with the feta on top. For the side dish- I recommend the orzo with spinach - delicious! The staff is entertaining too! Birthdays, regular dance throughs, music and a belly dancer is known to come and perform as well. I promise you will leave with a full stomach having eaten some of the BEST Greek food available and being entertained in such a way that you will find yourself taking part and enjoying!!

I love, love this restaurant. When I lived on this side of town, I was a regular. It really felt good to just stop by. Great, happy vibe, great friendly service & of course great food. I was only doing a drive through tonight, so I only ordered my fried & flamed cheese. Delicious as always, that last squeeze of lemon, just does it justice. What's a girl to do? Visit Everytime I am in the area#

PORTIONS ARE SMALLER! This place used to be much better, but once they changed their menu and tried to make it super fancy they made their food, especially wraps and salad smaller. And I mean MUCH smaller! I used to get full off one buffalo chicken wrap (now called zesto chicken something) but now you better order two minimum to get through dinner. And you constantly have to ask for more bread, before they'd refill that thing like sprite! Greek eating is feast eating, you should never leave a Greek restaurant hungry.

We went with a large party last night (11 people) and it was perfect! The place has a great ambience, we were seated promptly for our reservation and had great service. The loud, fun atmosphere was great for a family get together. The food is really good, and reasonably priced. the music, dancing and OPA! Napkin throwing and plate smashing made it really fun for all of us. Definitely go for a fun time, and the food is good! Recommend hummus, mousaka, chicken gyro and mahi.

My boyfriend and I were tired from a long day of traveling and Bucs football and were craving some authentic Greek food. We were not disappointed! This was the best Greek food I've ever had. My boyfriend had the lamb platter and I had the chicken kabob platter (both have authentic Greek names, but I was too focused on the delicious food). The portions were hearty and everything tasted incredible. If you're in the area and love this type of cuisine, Acropolis is the place for you.

I quite enjoyed my recent visit here. I had previously visited this restaurant for lunch years ago and did not have a pleasant experience but dinner the other night definitely changed my mind! We had a large party of about 20 people (reservation) because we were have a sisterhood event for my sorority. I was the 2nd person to arrive early and the table was already setup. The server came immediately to us and asked for drink orders. Usually they wait until a good amount of the party is already seated so I appreciated that he was catering to only the two of us. They serve the water in what looks like large shot glasses and each table got their own glass water container (I like the little things!). The server was extremely friendly and he made it his goal to remake my whole Acropolis experience. He said that "this was his full-time job so he better do a good job!". At one point, all the servers came out and did a Greek line dance and then threw napkins everywhere to simulate breaking dishes. They also broke some plates on the side. On to the food: They serve free bread with a tzatziki dip for each table. The tzatziki here is very creamy and it felt almost like spread butter on the bread. My friends ordered their calamari appetizer and we all kept saying it was one of the best calamari we've ever had. It was perfectly fried and seasoned. My other friend liked it so much, she ordered another one as her entree! I ordered their avgolemono soup (creamy chicken, rice, lemon soup). It was very lemony and homey. It reminded me of Chinese congee almost. My entree was their souvlaki platter which had 3 pork skewers with pita, greek salad, tzatziki sauce and usually Greek fries (fries with feta cheese). I subbed the fries for spinach orzo. This was a filling platter! I took half my meal home for leftovers! Their house dressing is addicting! The souvlaki skewers were well seasoned and the pieces of pork were a good size. The Greek salad also came with a large slice of feta cheese. The spinach orzo I would pass on. The feta was too overwhelming. I had to add the marinara sauce (that came with calamari) to tone down the dish. Overall: I really enjoyed the food and the fun atmosphere and I will be coming back to try their other dishes. They were very accommodating with our large group which is a plus.

So yes we came back after "corporate" called me, when I say corporate I mean the one person in the office lol. No they are not going corporate, they are skimping on portion control! They had the single worse day and waited on the wrong people! As such I haven't seen that manager since we have been back several times! Once again they know how to fix it and make it right! Great ownership thank you!!!

This place is a great place to bring your friends too and just chit chat over 2-4-1 sangrias or half off the entire wine list. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. I've only ever gotten the appetizers there, but it's great. My favorite to get is the appetizer platter ( ifs a dip platter with 4 different dips). If you're also there late enough, you'll enjoy a nice little show from the belly dancer. Did i mention that I night you'll hear a lot of "opa!" And a lot of napkins getting thrown around. It's a lot of fun.

I used to frequent this restaurant, but unfortunately I will not be going anymore. It used to be a good Greek restaurant, and it helped that it has such a convenient location. The first problem is that the already high prices have been raised. I do not think the quality of the food fits the high prices. The salads have declined, offering very few greens, are very small, and they are about $4.The other cuisine is just okay, and do not warrant the prices. The service and atmosphere is usually good, though. If you are there on a weekend night, be prepared for a big crowed with loud music. The servers perform a Greek dance, napkins are thrown, and plates are broken. I do enjoy the Greek fries with the feta cheese, but there is not much else that is great. The drinks are also very overpriced.

The food here is always delicious. The servers are always friendly. Loved the drinks also. Get the pita and hummus. It is seriously the best hummus I've ever had. The tirosalata with the pita is to die for. Go on the weekends. They throw napkins and the servers dance and there's a belly dancer that comes at 7:30. Hello what more could you ask for?

Ehhh, it was just okay. The food was fine, service was fine, everything was fine. Nothing really to complain about, but nothing to come back for either, especially when there are so many great Greek places locally. I had a Greek salad, which was good, but I've had much better at Louis Pappas and Famous Greek Salads of Florida. They also don't offer a chopped salad, so I had to spend a few minutes cutting the cucumber, tomato, and feta down to manageable bite-sized pieces. Again, not a big deal, but a small annoyance. My husband had a gyro which was deemed "fine". So, yeah. That's Acropolis. I'll probably go back at some point, but it's not high on the list.

Food is great, atmosphere from napkins to broken plates, live music and dance make it entertainment and a dining experience! I have had their Greek salad multiple times which can feed easily two people! Saganaki- melted cheese with lemon that you dip pita's into. SOOO Good!

Every time I go the food is great...But the service is terrible. The only good server is Marco... besides the food and the one good server..... I've waited an hour before a hookah was delivered to my table. Also I have placed an order to go.. as I was walking in to pick up my salad I heard the bartender say "oh I'm just giving him this salad" so a man walked away with my salad that was supposed to be ready in 15 min... instead it was ready in 35min. I really enjoy the atmosphere here and the food like I said, but it does get frustrating. They are understaffed I believe and need to get server priorities straight.

I usually go to the Ybor location to have lunch but I really really wanted their Greek salad with grilled salmon and I didn't feel like driving all the way to Ybor so I went to this location for take out. Service The bartender was really nice and frequently kept telling me that my order would be "right up". She probably felt the need to say this because I was told on the phone that my order would take about 20 minutes. I got there a little bit early expecting to wait a few minutes because it's a salad but it ended up being about 35 min total until I was able to walk back out the door. I wasn't offered water or anything to drink while I waited which isn't mandatory but it would have been nice. Food I got a large portion of grilled salmon with some char on the side just like I like it. The salad was a little limp probably from being steamed by the hot salmon. Next time I will ask them to package the salad and salmon separate to avoid this. I asked for mine with no potato salad (never understood the potato salad on the salad thing but in Pittsburgh we put french fries on a salad). Even if I wanted potato salad theirs is really bland and just not good. It also came with a big hunk of feta cheese and plenty of hot peppers which also got soggy from the salmon steam. The salad also came with some bread and their yogurty dipping sauce. Overall it was delicious and consistent with what I have come to expect from Acropolis. The only thing that really bothers me is the napkins all over the floor. I know it's a Greek thing but I really hate it not to mention it's wasteful. I mean can someone just clean that mess up?

Greek food is something of an enigma to me. How is it that people who dislike most "ethnic" food enjoy Greek Restaurants? The strong flavors would cause me to think something like Chinese or Italian might be more enjoyable. Anyways, because of its appeal to those with "simple" tastes, my family and I wound up eating Greek a lot. Anytime one of them came to town, we went for Greek. Our restaurant of choice? The Acropolis. I loved the flaming cheese, the fries, the hummus, the salads and the falafel. Recently, things seemed to have changed a bit. For one, I stopped eating cheese. That meant no more flaming cheese and salads and fries were eaten sans cheese. This really changes the tastes. The salad is still decent without the cheese but the fries, they lose a lot of their appeal when you remove the cheese. They turn normal. But it isn't just the removal of cheese that is hindering the Acropolis. Even the hummus and falafel don't seem to have the same quality that they did in the past. The falafel, at least on our most recent visit, seemed overdone. The hummus lacked some of its prior pizzaz. Maybe the quality of Acropolis has gone down. Or maybe its the fact that there are now other Greek choices in town that are giving Acropolis a run for their money. Whatever it is, this once great restaurant has now become just ok.

I stopped here during my lunch break at our northern office. Because it was in a strip mall, I mistakenly assumed it was counter service and it would be quick. Instead, it is a table service restaurant that is nicely decorated with a good ambience. I went up to the bar and ordered the salmon salad thinking it would be fast. It took about 20 minutes but I don't fault them for that. The fish was grilled fresh with a great flavor. It sat on a bed of spinach with a citrusy dressing that I didn't really care for. My favorite part was the fresh bread that was brushed with garlic butter. They give you a tzatziki dipping sauce that is scrumptious. Unfortunately, what gives it the great flavor is a ton of garlic. So if you are going back to your patients like I did, have a really strong piece of gum on hand--and be prepared to pop in a new piece every hour or so until your day is done!

Great place to go with a broad range of options. I've liked everything that I've had here. My favorite is the Karpathos chicken salad which has a great mix of greens, flavors, and textures. I also really like their vegetarian pita. Make sure that you don't forget their awesome drink specials as well. Word to the wise, they have some regular dancing and napkin throwing that is heralded by Zorba the Greek. I advise grabbing a seat as soon as the song starts, so you don't get caught in the dance.

Food there is always great. We have never had a disappointing experience. And staff couldn't be more friendly. They make an effort to know your name if you are a repeat customer as well as your particular likes from the bar and menu. My 11 year old absolutely loves it when the dance through and toss napkins. You won't be disappointed.

I was excited to try this place after reading the reviews but I ended up being let down....Although the ambience was nice and service was decent my dish, the Psari mahi mahi was less than mediocre. First off it was over cooked tuna that they served me with tasteless rice. The only good thing on my plate was the potatoes. I should've sent it back but I was hungry and didn't wanna be the complainer that day, My friend seemed to enjoy his chicken wrap though.

I dined here Tuesday, February 17th. I thought the food was average, my date had better experience. The server, I wish I could remember his name was excellent. Knowledgeable of the menu and brought us some bread and a light yogurt dipping sauce. Very good. He happily brought more after we inhaled the first batch. I ordered octopus appetizer which was very good. I ordered the gyro platter which was average at best. Meat was cold and dry. Sauce was good. My date's pork kabobs were good.... Good. Service was very good and the entrees were average to good.

Great atmosphere. Killer staff. Good food. Don't come here if you're allergic to napkins, though, they're everywhere.
I would love to give this place a 1.5 stars however, that would be an elevation to the quality of the cuisine and service I've had here recently.

For reasons that I cannot determine this is the best of all the Acropolis restaurant's in Tampa Bay, the food is noticeably better although it is the same menu. I usually go for lunch and get the Athenian Chicken Wrap in a pita (ask for the pita for wraps, way better). So good. Get a side of Greek friends which are steak fries with feta sprinkled on top, yummy.

Everything here was pretty good except for the tzatziki sauce. It tasted more like sour cream or Greek yogurt with a couple of spices thrown in. For me the tzatziki is a deal breaker. It's unfortunate because this place has potential. My husband and I both had the gyros and the pita bread is excellent. The meat was also very good.

From the minute you walk through the door you feel a welcoming ambiance. I like that we can come in for lunch, a drink, a snack, or dinner. The food is always good and truly Greek, OPA! Some evenings they have live music and when Zorba's Theme starts playing the staff starts dancing. No plate smashing, a safety issue, but they do toss tissues into space, OPA! Today's special Cream of Mushroom Soup, I begged for the recipe but everybody was tight lipped. It was exceptional. I followed the soup with Spanakopita, Greek Feta Pie. Because I've had Greek food a trillion times between my native NYC and Acropolis this is comfort food for me. If you're like me in that respect head over to Acropolis for some really good Greek food.

Because the food isn't bad, but it's also not my favorite. Perhaps I am just not a fan of the flavor of Greek food, but I have eaten at this location a half dozen or more times (easy access from work), and both the Brandon and Ybor locations once, and the food is okay, but nothing I would write home about. Appetizers: I've tried the Hummus, Spanakopita, and the Tzatziki, and they were quite rich...they were all ok. I liked the stuffed mushrooms, but again not my favorite recipe. I thought the Buffalo Chicken was pretty good. Entrees and Wraps: Tried the Pastitisio...meh...not something I'd try again. Chicken Souvlaki Platter...just ok. Athenian Chicken, it was good. Athenian Fish Sandwich...my least favorite fish sandwich ever. My last visit I had the Mahi-Mahi sandwich and it was extremely fishy tasting. Had it not been fishy, it would have been really great. The restrooms are pretty horrible. That's never a good sign.

What a fun place for authentic Greek food and lively music! The dancer is amazing and beautiful! The line dance with ALL the wait staff is fun to watch - and throwing up of the white napkins is a moment to remember with your cameras! My favorite is the Eggplant appetizer - it's big enough to be an entire meal. The Sangria is to die for! Dorothy Dubel Kowch

Mmmmmm... I love this place! I go here every few months and it's always a treat. In fact, I brought my mom here when she drove down from DC with me and I was trying to show her that Tampa ain't as bad as I may make it out to be (whenever I call home). Enough said? The food is excellent and well-priced. You can't go wrong with any platter entree... they are huge, delicious and won't break the bank either. Most recently I tried the gyro platter but I have also tried the seafood pasta, calamari, greek meatballs and skewered something. Always happy. Service is decent. They try. The live music is a trip! It feels authentic and makes you want to get up and dance. I almost did. Most recently I got to see the "OPA!" dance featuring an uninhibited kinda drunk lady who was off-step with all the servers. Hilarious! That will be me one day probably. I recommend this place and I'll be back.

Stopped in here with my family, had the hummus, baba guanoj, and saganaki. All three were terrific, especially the saganaki, which I never had before. Who doesn't like flambe'd cheese!?! Also had the Makedonikos for dinner, which was interesting considering it had a jumbalaya sauce. Didn't think the Greeks did jumbalaya, but it was outstanding. Oh, and I can't forget the napkin throwing, dish breaking , train dancing staff! They were awesome and were reminiscent of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Stop here for good, authentic Greek cuisine.

This place is just as good as the other Bay area locations, as far as the food is concerned. I will say, however, that I like the venue better than the Ybor spot. There's a lot more in the way of elbow room, and the staff seems to be a little less uptight. Obviously because it's not in Ybor or downtown St. Pete, parking is a non-issue, and that pleases me. I can't stand getting stressed out over parking, and I do. Not quite sure why that makes me anxious. So because of that, I'd prefer to visit this spot over the others. I still haven't eaten at the Riverview location, but I'm sure it's similar to this one. We got the mixed grill - It proved to be too much food for even two moderately hungry grown folks, so it was definitely worth the $27 price tag. In the restroom, I saw an add for a Miami location coming soon, that should be good as well.

We had a great time for a Girl's Night Out -- the four of us split the mixed grill (various sish-kabobs and meat cuts) and all of it was excellent. Our server was great, and made sure to help us un-cork the water, a task much more difficult after indulging in the fantastic Margaritas. They are willing to swap out most of the breads for veggies/crudites including for appetizers like hummus and saganaki. For those fellow gluten-avoiding folks, the rice pudding dessert is an option and I've been told it is wonderful. Hopefull you are there for when they do the Greek Dancing around the house and break dishes into a bucket!! What fun!!

Went for drinks and appetizers with the girls after work this weekend. Always ask for Jaymee, as she is always cheerfully and upbeat - never lets us down. Can't get enough of the bread and spread. She lets us know about any menu specials and recommends any yummy drink specials. She is also joking and quick to throw a crack back to the smart mouth of the group, which always has us cracking up! She is on her game, and a ppl person! Thanks for the fun night out Acrop!

Went last night, food was decent, the stuffed mushrooms were however the highlight of the entire meal. Little too loud for me personally, I prefer a much quieter setting when I am dining. However, I have to say I sure did enjoy the belly-dancer....

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

(4)Brittany G.

(5)Jessie J.
Amazing Hookah ! Try the Mint flavor. This place is beautiful! Just a heads up, no smoking inside, outdoor seating only. When I go back to Florida, I will be returning !
(5)Rachel M.
(4)Amanda G.

(5)Mike D.
Stopped in after visting theme park, it was late at night and they were open late on a week day. Service was good, Music was good, Food was good. A/C was REAL cold. I would love to go here again someday.
(5)Sarai Q.
Terrible service. The food was good but our waitress kept forgetting what we ordered and wouldn't check to see if we needed anything like drink refills, etc. It took forever to flag her down and grab our bill. For that reason, I give this place a two.
(2)Mike L.
Went here for lunch today, Really nice, quiet atmosphere, wait staff was a little on the slow side, but attentive. Had the Psari Mahi Mahi, which was excellent! Would definitely go here again.
(4)Gary M.

(4)Andrea B.
(1)Ben O.
Gross!
(1)W M.
The customer service is amazing. Cody is an excellent sever and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Meghan S.
(4)Mikayla M.
(4)Richard I.
(3)Rachel F.

Jenice Armstead
(5)Amy Z.
Food is decent, but not as authentic as I would like. I'm not a fan of the cheesy dancing and napkin throwing, but I guess if this is what you need in your life, knock yourself out.
(3)Alison C.
(2)Chanel B.
(2)John B.
(1)Julya R.
Try the appetizer with the four sample sauces - all great! I got the shrimp wrap and it was perfect as well!
(5)Becky K.
Food was good. Service was ok. My complaint is its so loud inside and outside. The the people just have no courtesy to keep it down so others can enjoy the dinner too
(3)Danesh J.
(3)Mary B.
(3)Melanie L.
I have always loved acropolis. They have great Greek food and the best sangria around. I do prefer their other locations over this one though. The food was not as great as it has been at the other locations, the service was slow, and they even messed up the orders. Overall I think acropolis is a great place but it depends where you go and which waiter you get.
(3)Mike R.
(2)D J.
(5)Julie C.
Love this place! Great atmosphere especially for happy hour and drinks at the bar! Love the food! great apps! We will def be back all the time when in the area! :)
(4)Ben V.
(4)Gregory H.
Reasonably priced, $65 for family of five including drinks and dessert. Excellent food, service by Josh was exceptional, great atmosphere. Will return when in the area.
(5)Carlos H.
(4)Karen T.
(4)Salil J.
(5)Terri K.
(4)Anita F.
Note: Not the location in Ybor City! The app platter was stellar! Great lunch spot. Nice environment and solid service.
(3)B K.
Best Gyro in town - right price and great taste.
(5)Tim M.
Love this place. Although we do mostly carry out from here the restaurant also provides a realistic Greek atmosphere. The food is spotty at best. Some times it's fantastic and others it is dry and stale. The later in the evening the better the food.
(2)Amelia S.
(5)Phani K.
If you savor mushrooms, you have to try the fried mushrooms here. And I love the mousaka as well. Probably the only decent hang out place in the usf area that has good food, nice ambience and hookah
(5)Benjamin M.
(2)Gail L.
(4)Robbie C.
Terrific all around! Great humus. Great dessert. 2 for 1 sangria and margaritas. The sangria is delicious and the margaritas are decent. The music is really fun and energetic, and our server was extremely friendly, attentive, and attractive. I can't wait to return!
(5)Collin S.
(4)Jeremy S.
(5)Rachel W.
(4)Tenneysa H.
This is a great place to come for dinner! The food is delicious and the service is always good. On a nice night the outdoor patio is great to eat at and have hookah. I love coming here!
(5)Amanda S.
(3)Olivia S.
Went for lunch and my gyro and pita fries were delicious. I heard from the waitress that on certain nights it is a dance club atmosphere. Will attempt another trial to see what the atmosphere is at that time.
(3)Ash T.
(5)Heather M.
Ate here for dinner. Excellent food. Good size portions. A bit loud inside. We had a new server who was just learning the ropes but all good. Good prices too! The napkin thing is a bit wasteful...you'll see. :)
(4)Sarah M.
(3)Gregory C.
Opa !!!
(4)Ivy W.
I had the pleasure of eating lunch at this establishment today. The service was excellent and the food tasted well. I would recommend this bar & grill for a tasty meal.
(4)Katie F.
(4)Charles O.
Great place. Great food. Great music. Hot waitresses!!!!

(5)Brice W.
Fun, different, and entertaining. I wouldn't make this a regular stop, but it is reliable and good quality.
(3)Ron W.

(4)Beck G.

Absolutely wonderful food and exceptional service every time my boyfriend and I come here. We love Acropolis and eat here between 1-3x a week! Nom nom :-) Tehehe I like broken dishes..muahaha
(5)Shoba R.

(4)Zao Z.

(2)Lou M.
(5)Stephanie H.
(5)Shaun S.
I always order the Athenian chicken wrap whenever I go! Excellent service and sangria is awesome... Can't go wrong for the price either..
(5)Jenny C.

(5)Jose D.
Great happy hour specials, atmosphere and Kristina is simply the best!!! She was extremely helpful and accomodating. Also helped me charge my phone =)
(5)Shannon H.
(2)Ana C.
(5)Tiffany B.
(3)Bill W.
Ate here for a late lunch on Sunday. Food was good as was the service. Prices seemed fair. Place was clean. I've visited the Ybor location before. This was my first stop here.
(4)Amber V.
Food is great, atmosphere from napkins to broken plates, live music and dance make it entertainment and a dining experience! I have had their Greek salad multiple times which can feed easily two people! Saganaki- melted cheese with lemon that you dip pita's into. SOOO Good!
(5)Kalli C.
(3)Ashley R.

(3)Jason C.
(4)Jake C.
(5)Mackenzie S.
(2)Jim S.
(3)Alexander R.
Great atmosphere. Killer staff. Good food. Don't come here if you're allergic to napkins, though, they're everywhere.

I had one of those whoopsie moments tonight which turned into a delightfully-pleasant evening at a different restaurant. I was originally planning to have dinner at a highly-rated sushi place in New Tampa / Wesley Chapel, but as I strolled up to the front door I discovered that the place is closed on Mondays. Oh crap, now what..... Fortunately at the other end of the shopping center sits Acropolis Greek Taverna, which is a popular Mediterranean restaurant chain featuring high-quality Greek food, wine, and entertainment. I sat out on their covered patio to enjoy the cooler evening breezes along with my meal. Several people were enjoying hookah pipes out on the patio, smoking shisha (flavored tobacco). Thankfully the fans vent the smoke straight up so as not to interfere with other peoples' dinners. I generally order a Greek salad with a Gyro platter, but tonight I decided to mix it up and try some new things on their menu. I started with an appetizer of tirosalata which was a creamy blend of feta cheese topped with oregano and extra virgin olive oil, and served with a side of warm pita bread wedges. The tirosalata was soft and could be spread onto the pita wedges, or dipped like tzatziki sauce. Very delicious! For my main course I went with the Shrimp Mykonos pasta bowl which was shrimp sautéed in a creamy lemon wine sauce with mushrooms, pesto, onions, and red peppers over penne pasta and topped with shave Parmesan and crumbled feat cheese. Another winner! The waitresses did their famous Greek line dance during dinner much to the amusement of everyone, and so it was a very pleasant evening. You'll find this branch of Acropolis Greek Taverna on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, north of Fletcher / Bearss Avenue.
(4)Emilio M.
I would love to give this place a 1.5 stars however, that would be an elevation to the quality of the cuisine and service I've had here recently.
(1)Sam E.
(5)Brooke K.
(3)Lainey C.
(4)Diane G.
(3)Dorothy D. K.
(5)Cece C.
(5)Mike L.
(4)Zubyda A.
Food is great and service is wonderful , you feel realy in Greece ! I recommend the spinach dipping as starter and the felafel rab as main course , very tasty I liked the atmosphere in general Great experience ! Loved it soo much
(5)Leigh T.
We have been going to Acropolis for years now and the food is great and the wait staff is always great, and Jason the manager is awesome. Happy hour is fantastic and the menu has something for every price range. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Mark H.
(4)Kate T.
What fun!!
(5)Kirsti O.
I really like this place. The parking can be kind of bad and some times it takes a while to get your drinks. The drinks are very good and their happy hour is pretty amazing! All the food I've ever eaten their is amazing though.
(4)Jose V.
I was really happy with the overall experience. The food was well prepared and the hookah was smooth too. Only downside is they take too long to attend to you.
(4)Christina M.
(5)Rock T. Boat C.
Went last night, food was decent, the stuffed mushrooms were however the highlight of the entire meal. Little too loud for me personally, I prefer a much quieter setting when I am dining. However, I have to say I sure did enjoy the belly-dancer....
