Wow! What a great place. 6 dollars for a Bacon, Avocado, Sprouts, Tomato, Basil mayo, etc. Sandwich! Great okra & sweet potato fries for 2$. Good fresh food, some organic products, tasty menu.

Tomato Land is a crazy little spot. It's a small place and lunch can get hectic, call ahead if you can. The parking is terrible and there's not anywhere to sit and eat your food (though there are some benches with stumps outside) but the BLT they make is all fresh and very good. They have lunch specials and fried chicken day is a solid choice, other days are ok too. The main dishes are the best, sides are country-style food and can be hit or miss. The fruit and veggies they offer are ok.

Lunch review: first off there's no dedicated seating, but two benches with stumps in front of them outside. But if you wanna grab a sandwich and run, this is a great place. So good me and my gf made a ritual of lunch on Fridays when we were both free for a semester. I love the fish sandwich, Cuban, steak, Chicken salad (she is loyal to the bacon loaded BLT). I need to venture out and try the poboy, tuna melt or salad, meatloaf and breakfast. It's a "grab a sandwich and run" type of place. While you're there pick up a take and bake-I suggest chicken tetrazzini or shepards pie. Just look out for the lines around lunch time. Very good sandwiches and a fair price. Puts a Newk's sandwich or pub sub to shame.

Tennessee tomatoes were delicious. Watermelon was crisp but not that sweet. Sure beat the mushy watermelons out there these days.

Food is good. Worst customer service in tallahassee. Besides Lynn (register) never had one person smile.

Stopped in well after lunch hours and ordered a tuna salad sandwich. For less than $5 I got a sizable tuna serving on toasted homemade wheat bread, generous slices if tomato and romaine lettuce. I had the basil mayo for a treat. Staff was friendly, products local and very fresh. I feel healthier from just walking in!! Wish they had a place to sit.

If you have not had their fried chicken - go and get yourself some! It isn't served every day, but it is delicious. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. Also, their BLTs are nice and hearty. Prices are very reasonable.

A Tallahassee gem. Adorable yellow building with a red awning on Thomasville Road. Store/deli/produce stand. Store full of local organic crap, which I'm into. Honeys, jams, teas, etc. Varied deli case: local meats, cheeses, pasta salads and stuff. GREAT breakfast and lunch menu. I always get the tomato landwich deluxe. It's a tomato sandwich with the addition of lettuce, sprouts, avocado, and basil mayonnaise. The basil mayo is off the chain, and the veggies are so fresh (they better be, it's a produce stand after all). Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious too (if you can get there before 10 on a Saturday...I usually can't). Buttery, homemade biscuits. Yum.

Tomato Land is my go-to source for produce and herbs in Tallahassee. It's right in the middle of town so should be readily accessible by most and offers both one of the wider selections in the area and lowest prices. Don't be put off by the ramshackle appearance of the main structure, or the frustration of the tiny parking lot at peak hours; it's worth the hassle and I promise, isn't going to collapse on you. For being such a small space these guys manage to pack a lot of punch into a limited footprint. At this time of year for example their outside produce bins are brimming with seven or eight varieties of edible and decorative pumpkins, Spaghetti squash, Butternut squash, Hubbard squash, Acorn squash, Turban squash, Kabocha squash, Hokkaido squash...you get the idea. You'll also find six or more varieties of potato, a handful of tomato types, kale, spinach, dandelion, arugula, rutabaga, red and golden beets, collards, peanuts, tomatillos, and a whole mess of other things green and growing. The herb tubs inside of the stand-up coolers are one of the stars of the show where you can snag all of the usual suspects (thyme, sage, rosemary, oregano, etc.) by the fistful for literally sixty or seventy cents. You'd pay five or six bucks for the same amount at a grocery store. Steal. Across the parking lot in the little yellow building (what used to be Cicada Market) is their deli/food shop, one of the few places in town to carry multiple varieties of Bradley's Sausage. There's Sweet Grass Dairy cheeses too, a random assortment of imported snacks and novelties, locally grown pecans and walnuts and a case stocked with other smoked meats and prepared foods (casseroles, lassagna, sides...). This is definitely a multiple-time-a-week stop for me. You're missing out if you're not shopping here.

This is by far the best little produce and homestyle goods place in town! It's been here forever, and has only gotten better. The Friday fried fish with huspuppies and cheese grits beats out every seafood restaurant in the area - in taste and price. Absolutely a local favorite!!

Gotta love a place where you can get fresh-to-death sandwiches for lunch while shopping for specialty oils, jams, hot sauces, spice mixes AND all your farmer's markety produce. I always get the old fashioned chicken salad sammy and it's delicious.

Tomato Landwich Deluxe with Avocado is my new favorite lunch sandwich. So fresh and yummy!

I work two doors down at The Great Bicycle shop and go to Tomato Land at least three times a week! Tomato Land RULES! They have great produce, great groceries, and an AMAZING deli! The Tomato Landwich rules and is VERY affordable! The place isn't anything spectacular, but it is a cool cheap place to eat great fresh food!

If you can find a better lunch for less money, let me know. Delicious, fresh sandwiches. Everything is around $5. Excellent.

A good fit for Tallahassee. Local ingredients, simple and reliable combinations as well as a few inspired dishes such as the "Tomato Landwhich". Service is a little spotty, can be top notch or a little, hmmm, distracted. Great prices for yummy lunch specials. Oh yeah, this is a new cafe attached to the original produce market. I also suggest going to the market for seasonal produce as well as smoked meats and dairy.

really great sandwiches and really great produce. tomatoland is a true tallahassee gem. try the BLT!
(5)Cherry J.
The market itself is charming with lots of great items and our sandwiches from the deli were very fresh and delicious! Very vegetarian friendly--try the Tomato Landwich Deluxe. No seating though, so I recommend having a picnic in nearby Winthrop Park.

This is located behind Cicada Market (a yellow colored store) and I noticed it because many people were there. Parking is on a grave dirt area and because of its popularity can be a little difficult to find. The store itself is a collection of make-shift looking shacks with a very good variety of local fruits and vegetables, some biscuits and other baked goods, jams and honey. The prices are very reasonable. They are apparently closed on Sundays.

Love the Fried GreeN Tomato sandwich, though the bread is too much...still really good!
