Went there with three others in the party and all seemed to have a good experience. Being the first one to arrive, I was greeted by staff promptly in a friendly manner at the door and was seated promptly. As others arrived, they brought out drinks and a small salad for each person. The food was good, and I only had the Angel Wings - which were not too hot (for me), but I could see them being hot for someone who does not enjoy spicy foods. Service was attentive and someone, assuming the chef or owner, checked in with us at the end of the meal to make sure we liked everything. She made it a point to ask about how the wings were. Their menu notates items that are spicy - and they remain true to the dishes as they start those off as "Medium" and build from there. Prices were fair, and I look forward to returning.

There was a time that Reang Thai was the only "other " Thai alternative to the now abysmal Bahn Thai (I mean no disrespect, Baroness of Bahn Thai - it's just that my last 1/2 dozen attempts to like your fare over the past decade have not succeeded - I only have my late 80's/early 90's memories of your cuisine to cherish). Today, it is one of -frankly - many Thai outlets. There was also a time when Reang Thai was the undisputed champ of the cuisine. I'm using Yelp's 3-stars purely to denote A-OKness. The description itself leans towards positive so it's appropriate. The lunch menu is limited, pointing to an increased awareness of food costs. Can't blame the principal for that. We ordered Calamari (medium spicy), Tom Kha Gai (Thai Hot), two medium-heat Pad Thais (1 shrimp, 1 chicken) and I ordered the Chicken Pad See Ew. $58.00 was the total. I wouldn't have minded the $$ except the plates were diminutive. Effectively, the entrees were served on what appeared to be bread plates (quite small) and consisted of the entry on 40%, white rice heaped on another 40% and an unordered egg roll/dipping sauce on the plate's remaining 20%. (Remember, these are small plates). Had the bill been $42.00, the product/value ratio would not have raised alarms. Any other Thai place in town would have doubled the portion for the same price. Furthermore, they wouldn't have served rice with noodles. This struck me as odd. The dishes were just ok. Mine was fine, but the kids' Pad Thai's smacked of ketchup. I'm not saying there WAS ketchup, just that those two dishes had a distinct ketchup tone. (Living in Seattle for 3 years, I learned that ketchup was sometimes used in Thai joints when supplementing Pad Thai sauces...) In any case - our server was friendly (albeit overtly quirky) and knowledgeable of the menu. Service was swift. This is probably a 3.5 star, 'cept in this case, we're not rounding up to the next whole number. Arithmetic varies from review to review.

Checked this place out for a Saturday dinner. When you walk in the door, you definitely feel like your not in tally, it definitely has culture and nicely adorned. Since it was my first time visiting the place complimentary watermelon slices with hint of ginger was served on a martini glass. It was nice for a small appetizer. Honestly the food is alright...but you're basically paying for the food art. I feel the food is overpriced. And the rice is to share ..you don't get your own portion of rice it comes in a small bowl. I won't be coming around.

Dear Reangthai Thai Restaurant, It's not you, it's me... Based off the food alone, this place is mediocre at best. On par with Panda Express but more expensive and smaller portions. Tasted more like Chinese than Thai to me. Small space which is nice and intimate for a small group or just a meal with one or two friends. Unfortunately though, they're in dire need of new help. They hit a triple whammy as far as I'm concerned: 1. The classic lipstick on the glass, dirty dishes problem. Servers...please check your glasses before you put water in them and bring them to the table. 2. Speed it up, if only one other table is occupied maybe get moving a little faster. Once it's been established that the table wants the check, just get them the check. One server plus one open register equals one check. Not one server plus one open register equals a 15 min wait for the check. Easy math. 3. Last, but certainly not least, don't spill food on the customers. Personally, I think this is an easy one but I recognize that mistakes happen. If this happens, hustle your ass to get napkins because if the customer has to go to the next table, you're taking too long but I guess this is just a pattern with you...isn't it Actually Reangthai, we agreed never to lie to each other... It is you.

Pretty interesting menu and the chef is really friendly. Reangthai is frequently called one of the best Thai places in Tallahassee, if not the best. To be fair, there aren't really a lot of Thai places here, so the selection is limited. My coworker and I came here one night because she raved about the food. I ordered the Thai shrimp with extra vegetables and my coworker ordered the salmon. I usually get curry when I get Thai food (I know, how stereotypical) but I decided to try something else this time. The shrimp was pretty good. I quite liked the flavor and it wasn't too spicy or oily. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. My coworker let me try her salmon and it was pretty good, though it lacked real flavor. The special hot sauce was really good. I guess they make it in-house. The service was almost awkward at times, though. The waiter was really pushy with me and it made me SUPER uncomfortable. Initially I wasn't sure if my coworker and I were meeting there, which I expressed to him when I sat down. "Oh, well, you should stay anyway. This is the best Thai in Tallahassee!" Well, it might be, but the constant mentioning of it got to be pretty annoying. Also I'm pretty sure I overheard him talking about me when he left my table, so....well, you figure it out. I don't really think that's appropriate at all. Honestly, I probably wouldn't go back here. Food was decent, but nothing to write home about. Service was 2.5 stars at best. I might come back to try the curry, but I'd probably get take out.

I went to this place for dinner last night because of some Yelp positive reviews. I was not impressed with the food. I ordered "tom yum with shrimp", they charge a dollar extra for the shrimp. Well I had 3 pieces in my soup. The broth had zero flavor and very sour (too much tamarind soup base). My crispy duck special of the day, the waiter claimed "a specially prepared honey and curry sauce". The duck were very dried, perhaps from a Chinese restaurant?, mixed with a lot of broccoli. I was disappointed with my bill of $37 for a cup of soup and a duck entree. Very pricey and food not worth it.

Reangthai housed the first official Yelp-related lunch last Friday. The quaint, Thai place serves salads to start and the menu (although double-sided) sits fairly simple. Curries, soups and stir-fry dishes take up the better majority of the menu. For appetizers, you'll discover spring rolls, hot wings and other classic Thai plates. I'm rather surprised to see the amount of negative reviews here! All four of us had delicious meals. The service wasn't spectacular, but the food was more than noteworthy. On my end, I ordered the Thai Shrimp, medium spice. Phenomenal. The depth of flavor, the rich red broth, the succulence of the juicy shrimp, paired with sticky rice and mixed vegetables; what's not to love? All of us yelpers were pleased with our meals. I ate mine to the last drop, while the rest took home leftovers. My appetite is huge, so speaking on their behalf; the portions here at Reangthai are big for the small price. I will definitely be back in the near future for the humble ambiance, fitting décor and delicious cuisine. Also, there's a slight discount if you pay cash! Here you'll discover some of the best Thai fare in town.
(4)Stella M.
Love the decor and ambiance, but the food did not impress me. The green curry was mediocre, they use a lot of filler vegetables in all of their dishes, their stir fry dishes are oily, the noodles in the pad thai were under cooked, and their thai tacos were messy and bland. On top of everything our server did not bring out the beverages that we ordered, our food took a very long time, all on top of the fact that their credit card machine was down, so it took an extra long time to leave. I definitely don't suggest coming here for lunch if you need to be back within an hour.

Food was excellent and the manger Kelly was very attentive and made sure our experience was excellent. I highly recommend checking it out.

This restaurant is tucked away in a small mall with a very dark exterior. Who knew what might be inside. To my surprise, the food was wonderful. we had the special, 4 seasons duck. It was seasoned to perfection, the perfect combination of sweet, sour, spicy and delicious. We also had the Yum Squid, a nicely rendered squid salad. My only disappointment was that the waitress did not know what some of the words on the menu meant.
(5)Bob M.
I really enjoyed the food here. I would call this restaurant more "Thai inspired" as it doesn't really have a lot of the true Thai dishes that only the most authentic restaurants carry. It loses a star for that and for having an extremely limited beer and wine selection along with a staff that is clueless about what they serve. "Yes we have wine but I am not sure what we have. If you name a couple I will tell you if we have them."

I've been here about 3 times now and have finally decided to write a review. I went to Reangthai with my girlfriend the first time and absolutely loved the food. From that day on, I've gone a couple more times with other friends and have suggested it to many other people. The restaurant is pretty well hidden away in a plaza across from Carrabba's and right next to Calico Jack's. It's hard to find, but definitely a hidden gem. The decor is nice, nothing super fancy. The room is dimly lit with about 3 rows of about 4 tables. There are a few reasons why I gave this restaurant 4 stars. 1. Chef Donna makes basically everything from scratch. 2. Chef Donna is the only cook in the kitchen and still manages to turn out delicious food. 3. Chef Donna comes out to see how the guests are doing and how they are liking the food. 4. The servers are very professional and helpful. 5. Food is delicious. Reason why I took away one star: I feel like some of the dishes are a little overpriced. Here are a couple of the dishes that I absolutely loved -Butternut squash soup (complimentary soup) - I never knew butternut squash could taste s good -Chicken satay (appetizer) - really really good, the peanut sauce is awesome -Fried wonton (appetizer) - hot and perfectly crispy filled with a nice amount of pork -Squid garlic (entree) - really garlicky but I love my garlic -Coconut ice cream (dessert) - probably one of my favorite desserts I have had at a restaurant, homemade ice cream with crispy banana fritters, almost get this dessert every time
(4)Michelle D.
Amazingly delicious. We had the fresh ginger chicken, wasabi duck, teriyaki chicken, and the tofu green curry. Everything was delicious, fresh, and flavorful. Spicy is actually spicy here, Thai hot is flavorful and will get your mouth burning just right. Giant portions, good sake, pots of hot tea, and tasty Thai tea. The chef even came out to say hello herself and make sure we enjoyed the food, her and the whole staff are amazingly accommodating and polite. This place should be called Thai heaven.
(5)Luke T.
I think it is the best Thai food in Tallahassee. Great staff too. Wish they were open for lunch on Mondays, and Sundays.
(5)Annie D.
LOVE THIS PLACE. Food is amazing and service is good. They frequently give out complimentary food and the dessert is made in house. I love it spicy and a lot of times "thai hot" is like hot cheetos to me. The fact that the chef actually comes out and wants to know how spicy you like your food is a saint to me. Probably the only complaint is that it is a little on the pricey side for thai food, but I figure it evens out with the service. Try the fried fish special (I believe it is snapper) ! It is to die for.
(5)Lakshmi R.
I liked the Pad Thai over here. It's not fully cooked but I like the style. I used have Pad Thai like really soft and easy to chew in different restaurant but this one is half cooked and different. I ordered Thai hot level and they did justice to that. It' s Spicy. I liked it. They gave me a cup of rice with Pad Thai. I never got rice with Pad Thai but still it's good.
(4)Christopher A.
Tough to find. Definitely worth the search. Some of the best pad Thai I've had. Generous portions and reasonably priced.
(4)John A.
food is ok..servers are pleasant and fairly quick..nothing phenomenal but it was only one dish..others might be great.
(3)Coty S.
This is the best Thai food that you will find in Tallahassee, hands down. Their lunch special is excellent and comes with main course, rice, and salad. Their dinners can be quite expensive into the $20.00 range for an entrée. And, they can get really crowded even during weeknights. We used to go here a lot when we moved to Tallahassee, but it was really expensive and out of the way for us so we found other places to go.
(3)Philip C.
I've been to the place before, and have LOVED it. I write this review as a disappointed fan and patron of this restaurant. I went there tonight (a Friday night) -both, mine and my wife's, dishes had problems. 1. the duck I ordered tasted great, but it was butchered with a cleaver by an - apparently - very angry person. The bird had dozens of small bones which I had to pick through. This dish was dangerous and was very frustrating. It was my decision not to send the dish back to the chef. 2. As for the spice, for both my and my wife's dishes, we asked for Medium spiciness. The dishes came our without any. Restaurant's in Tallahassee may become stressed during periods when the legislature and colleges are in session. I will go back to Reang Thai. But it was a bad night for us there. The waitstaff, were marvelous, hard working and top class, 5 out of 5. Best crew I've seen there yet.
(2)Keith k.
This is one of the best Restaurants in Tallahassee. I've been going here for over 10 years and they have by far the best tasting Thai food I have ever tasted. It is clean and the menu has so many different options. If they have the red snapper as a special you have to get it!
(5)Michael P.
Pretty freakin' good! I've only been once, but I remember being full and the duck was delicious!
(4)Michael C.
The atmosphere is nice enough and the service was friendly and good--- but the food was not very good. I won't go there again.

Being the only Thai restaurant in Tallahassee, I guess they get to do whatever they want. Though I have had bad experience(s) at this place, I have heard some better things about them. I have tried Thai food all around US, and my friends who like it here, haven't had Thai as much. Maybe thats why they go head over heals on this place. This is what I think about them.. (I'll tell my experience later) Food Quality - Good (Can be better, definitly not the Best) Food Quantity - Dinner portions are half of the other Thai places I have eaten. Lunch they don't provide complimentory soup, like other Thai restaurants do Food Price - Atleast $4-$5 above the normal dinner menu items at other Thai restaurants Customer Service - Tolerable Management - HORRIBLE Overall Impression - Just want to make money of you, without to much stress on service or quality My Experience: I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Tofu Pad Thai. I received little Chicken Fried Rice and CHICKEN Pad Thai. After pointing out the mistake, they asked if we wanted to exchange it. My wife decided to not to wait any longer for other dish, so they agreed to take that off our bill. (I also received the hot sauce which I requested, by the time I was done eating). When the bill came, they charged us for the Pad Thai and not the rice (since pad thai was more expensive). They apologized and fixed the bill. So far so good, mistakes happens, and it was just one of the off days I checked my Credit statement recently, and realized they charged $24 for $8.99 fried rice. I am a generous tipper, but $300% tip.. I don't think so.. Wish I had retained the receipt.. I guess there is nothing I can do now. except right reviews like this.

Authentic Thai, seriously. Donna and Tong hail from Ft. Lauderdale where they return regularly to connect with the Thai Temple there, load up on authentic ingredients, and remain connected to the culture. The food reflects this--lunch is much more simple fair, but worth the now high cost.
(4)Carlos B.
Not only was the food delicious but the service was also superb. After visiting Reangthai only a few times the hosts recognize me and my girlfriend by name. Its the first place we take any guests to Tallahassee and our favorite restaurant for special occasions.
(5)Miss D.
Fresh, delicious, thoughtful food. Piles of well-cooked amazing seafood, meat, veggies, and seasonal specialties. I work in Chinatown in Boston and have tons of great Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai food around, and this place in Tallahassee killed it!! It is a hole in the wall, but give it a shot. If it's your birthday and John is working, make sure to ask for the bday desert and song special, he is AMAZING!! Love it.
(5)Jessica C.
Overall a mediocre experience. I guess I was put off by how expensive it was. Of course I had the mango duck curry so that was kind of my fault. The curry was very thin and the vegetables were undercooked. The vegetables were also kind of bland despite being in the curry, as if they were added later instead of cooked in it. I did like the large slices of mango. It was very fresh. The duck itself was a bit greasy and the bones had not been removed. I also didn't understand why they served free butternut squash soup. I guess it kind of went with the whole kitschy atmosphere. The decor was thai-southern girly fusion. But the chef/owner was nice, she came out to ask how the meal was. Also great service. I might consider it again if it weren't so expensive.
(3)Laura G.
So disappointed. I ordered the Tom kha soup with shrimp (gung), panang curry with beef, and Singha beer. The Tom kha was NOT true tom kha. I've been to Thailand several times, and had this soup at several different restaurants. True tom kha includes lemongrass (flavorful, and helps keep mosquitoes at bay), galanga, garlic, cilantro, and chili peppers, all of which were missing from Reangthai's version. After two tastes and resorting to fishing out the shrimp, because the rest was disappointing, I even asked the server if the owners were Thai. Yes, that bland. While the panang curry was not the best I've ever had, it was an improvement over the Tom kha. I ordered it hot, but not Thai hot. I was pleased with the level of heat and the spices/peppers used to add heat. I think the curry could have benefited from a tad more sugar and a higher proportion of coconut milk to broth ratio. When I saw the menu prices, I realized I've been spoiled by my favorite Thai restaurant in my former city. They had fabulous food at very reasonable prices. Their decor was not upscale (no cloth napkins or tablecloths), but their food quality was. I think Reangthai could learn from that. Sadly, the waiter did not offer to take the Tom kha off of the bill. I should have insisted -- I had just a few spoonfuls and ate the two shrimp, and complained about the quality of the soup itself. Given the poor experience, I won't be back.
(2)Shannon C.
best Thai in town! chef Donna is the best! Try her homemade coconut ice cream and the scallops!
(5)A A.
I'm nearly speechless. I've gone to Reangthai a few times, usually grabbing the customary red snapper and some vegetarian dish to take home. This was the first time in years that I've dined in with them, or even bothered to read the menu for something new to try. My life has been missing so much. Everything was impeccable. This is the best Thai restaurant in town. The menu was so varied I had a hard time choosing, but I vowed to forgo my red snapper for the sake of Yelp. They have some typical dishes like pad thai and panang curry, but there is enough there for a more adventurous diner as well. There are also a good number of vegetarian dishes. The food itself was delicious and extremely flavorful, but probably not for the faint hearted. You will definitely get a good amount of herbs, aromatics, and spice with your meal. I ordered my dish mild and there was still a little spice, which was perfect for me. My boyfriend ordered his food hot, and was visibly shaking by the end of the meal. Seriously, men and their egos... Anyways, one of the things I noticed and appreciated was you could actually taste the difference between their chicken and pork. (Speaking as someone who can't stomach the taste of most red meat and has had to spit out supposedly "chicken" dishes at the Thai place downtown). The Thai tea comes in a huge glass. You know when you normally get Thai tea you wish there was more? Not here. The dessert menu is somewhat lacking for me, but I'm probably just overly picky about that. The level of service at Reangthai is unbelievable. We were given a great amount of attention. The servers were patient, attentive, and intuitive. My boyfriend's glass of water was refilled SIX times. I commend the chef on being honest with me about the freshness of her ingredients due to seasonality, and I would gladly order a dish knowing that, rather than having to complain later because I was deceived. She was also attentive to our choices and made further suggestions regarding the menu. Individually, the prices do look like they're too high, but dishes usually last me two meals, and the final total is very reasonable for a Thai restaurant, especially one of this caliber. There is a list of upcharges on their menu, but that wasn't an issue for us and it isn't horribly unreasonable anyways. There was also a sign on the door welcoming students back and talking about a wine tasting on Friday nights. Oh, and the boyfriend says he'd take bubble gum over a fortune cookie anyday.

This restaurant came as a surprise during a quick trip to the Floridian capital and I was remarkably pleased. I was expecting something lackluster, especially because I was sick and my tastebuds were not working at full capacity. But one dip into the sweet chili sauce for our spring rolls and I was hooked. I've had panang curry in Bangkok before and honestly didn't like it. However, here, in Tallahassee FL, I had the best panang curry I've ever eaten. I ate the leftovers today and they were equally delicious. I have no idea how this restaurant has any less than 5-stars on any review. The food was amazing and the service was incomparable. We even got free butternut squash soup!
(5)Manel L.
I gave 4 stars to this restaurant because I'm comparing it to other places in Tallahassee. Otherwise, i'd give it 3 stars. Anyways, this place is not very authentic but it did satisfy my craving for thai food. I had salmon which was overcooked and topped with too much carrots. The sauce however was good and according to them it's msg free which is nice. I also tried their duck and pineapple dish which was alright if you like fat on your duck, i personally would remove the fat. I also tried their special that night scallops with coconut, it was probably the best tasting dish, out of the three dishes i tried, perfectly cooked not overcooked and not chewy. The service was good, very attentive and extremely excited about the food they offer. Overall, it was ok. If you crave thai food and you're stuck in Tallahassee, going to this place is good enough.
(4)Michael S.
Wow, shocked by all of the positive reviews. I had the Pad Thai Chicken which was a small portion of mostly noodles and rice with a little bit of chicken. None of the traditional fresh egg, spring onions, bean sprouts, lime, peanuts. Very disappointed.
(1)Angela C.
Amazing Red Curry with Seafood combination. I had it medium and it was spicier than I thought but it was not overly spicy. Such a great place. Wait staff is great and did not have to wait long for the food to come out. Soooo good and there was plenty left over!! Such a great price for sooo much food. The Thai iced tea was amazing!! I will be coming back. The chef is sweet and nice and wants to make sure you are taken care of.
(5)Julie K.
WoW, is what I have to say about Reangthai! Came to Tally for a graduation and was craving good Thai. The last good Thai meal was in San Francisco, we now have a new Champion in the arena of My Stomach!! The four of us had the Red Snapper, while spicy, but so FULL of flavor and also the Scallops that came served in a coconut shell. The beef thai was ok, not all that, but the 2 other meals and the comlimentary squash soup served in Martini glass from chef Donna was friggin delicious, not just DELICIOUS, but friggin Delicious! I must say the service was Impeccable, I was shocked because the servers all looked like college students, well it is a college town. . . ( i could be mistaken here folks!). I don't think the water in any of our glasses ever reached below 2 inches from the top rim (not an exaggeration, ok maybe 3 inches). Not used to that in a non-fancy restaurant, this ain't South Beach or Bal Harbour honey! Kudos to Chef Donna and her crew for creating such delicious meals while providing excellenct service!
(5)Matt J.
Ridiculously spicy yet delicious. We opted for the pad thai, green duck curry, the chicken satay, and crispy basil with pork. On ordering, when prompted for how spicy we'd like our dishes - as all good Thai restaurants tend to do - we asked "how spicy is your Hot and Thai Hot?" and boy were we mislead. Trying to play it safe we opted for regular Hot and got 2 dishes that were so drowned in spice that the dishes while delicious, were completely inedible. I wanted to taste and enjoy my dish but ended up with the old take a bite, take a chug of water approach. Next time, I'll opt for medium.
(3)Ed K.
Pretty damn authentic and pretty damn good. (Though I've not been to Thailand, I have had my fair share of Thai food - good and bad.) It's tucked away in one of hundreds of unassuming strip malls spread out across this town, but once you step inside, you realize that this ain't your run-of-the-mill, bland, wanna-be ethnic restaurants. (Which I was reminded of when I had my mouth scorched by a medium-hot dish; more on that in a bit.) It's a very nicely appointed place, and has an air of fine dining (of which has never been synonymous with Thai Cuisine in my experience, but I'm game), AND the service was as good as I've had in Tallahassee: polite, attentive and quick. A couple caveats: Dishes are a bit on the expensive side, but maybe that's a necessity when you're having to import authentic ingredients to this area. And the noodles in the Pad See Yu (or however that's romanized - there never seems to be a standard spelling) were thinner and finer than I've had at any other time, but I don't know that there's a requisite width for the stuff. Also, a quick footnote/warning - I don't know if the chef was feeling particularly generous that night with the spices, but our medium-hot was pretty scorching. I've gotten a little accustomed to the "hot" metric of the Tallahassee region for ethnic foods being a little less hot than what I've grown up with, but this medium-hot was, I suspect, a genuine "medium" in the Thai book. (Which for most mere mortals is a "OMG, I have a bonfire in my mouth!" or more.) Bottom line: Good food, nice atmosphere, great service, but a bit pricey.
(4)Meagan A.
Delicious Curry! CAUTION: HOT=THAI HOT here. I usually order hot or Thai hot, but I couldn't even finish my meal. Order medium so you can actually enjoy your food!
(3)Colin M.
I don't like to write reviews like this, but I was in Tallahassee checking my yelp app for a place to eat, and, after the experience I had here while attending grad school at FSU, not only was I appalled to see that this place is still in business, but I was appalled it had a higher rating than Bahn Thai, a lovely family-owned business. Long story short, I was served undercooked pork in my curry here. The server alerted the owner, who came over and loudly berated me that the very pink pork in my curry was indeed cooked. Eat here if you want trichinosis served with a side of hostility. I left and went straight to Bahn Thai. By the way, whoever said this was the only Thai place in Tallahassee is incorrect. Bahn Thai, by all appearances, is still in business, where I've never been served undercooked pork, and the restaurant is run, and the food prepared with plenty of TLC.
(1)Angela S.
One of the best restaurants in Tallahassee. The food and service is absolutely wonderful. The chef even comes out of the kitchen and greets guest and asks how you are enjoying the food.
(5)Jack S.
My family and I went to Reangthai as a bit of a shot in the dark, based off our usual inability to settle on a restaurant between the six of us. Thai food seemed to be a nice neutral ground, and Reangthai had good reviews, so we went. We were all surprised with the high quality of the food, as the stereotypical Thai food most of us are used to is some type of something vaguely identifiable in a blisteringly hot sauce. Such was not the case here. The food was very, very good and, while maintaining the Thai food kick, the dishes underneath the sauce were delicious and fresh. The staff was very helpful and assisted us in making our selections, which were well chosen. The location was a bit obscure, as it is tucked away in a strip mall on Capital Circle, just across from Calico Jack's (the sign on the side of the road is a generic "Thai Food"). We were all, therefore, surprised to find the decor very nice, not at all strip mall-esque. The only complaint we could find in our lot is more of a word of caution, based on our other experiences with the standard Thai fare: the food is priced appropriately to it's quality. The food is very good; the price reflects this. Prices are on par with some of the nicer restaurants in Tallahassee. We did get complimentary dessert, though, a coconut ice-cream, which was exceptional and cleansing (a perfect compliment to the spice of Thai food). Overall, we were very impressed with Reangthai's quality, and will not hesitate to return the next time we get the urge to. Definitely a restaurant to recommend to your friends.
(5)Tim G.
What a disappointment! I eat Thai about once a week, and know the difference between good and great. Reang Thai is neither, sadly. Though our family had not visited this restaurant in many years, we hoped it would live up to its former reputation. Here's why it did NOT: 1. The soups were flavorless, funky-smelling and served overly hot. So hot, in fact, that the shrimp had curled up completely and lost all of its juiciness. 2. My Pahd Thai was not at all traditional. I detected no veggies, no peanuts, no slice of lime etc. Instead, it was draped in uncooked cabbage, lending an unwelcome chew and crunch to a dish that should have been savory and tangy. 3. My dinner guests' dishes were similarly bland and undercooked. The wonton soup presented doughy and (uncuttably) thick morsels floating in a flat, boring broth. 4. Portion sizes were small, and tended to be undercooked or slathered in the aforementioned raw cabbage shreds, or adorned with large, overly present pieces of green onion and/or still-firm white onion. 5. The tab included an unannounced 20% tip, which despite 'adequate' service on the part of the very young staff (who appeared self-conscious enough to continually ask, 'Is everything OK?' -- it wasn't), we felt was an insult to our party of five's experience. 6. Instead of an after-dinner mint, we were each treated to -- get this -- a tiny pink piece of wrapped, boring BUBBLE GUM (the kind you pray never shows up in your Halloween bag). We left unnerved and over $70 poorer, vowing never to return.

I've been eating Donna's food for close to 20 years now (yikes!). Her food is amazing, and she is so sweet. I don't go to this restaurant very much any more (expensive and smallish portions, and the atmosphere is a little formal for me), but her food is top notch.

This was my second visit and my partners 4th or 5th. Although in a strip mall (across the lot from Calico Jack's), they've done a great job with the decor. Nicely decorated with good atmospheric lighting and music. The food is great--if we're too be cursed with very few options for Thai in Tallahassee, we're so lucky that this is one of them!! The Tom Ka soup is superb with the right mix of solids to broth. My partner likes both the scallops and the red snapper, while I'm partial to their duck dishes. Their desserts are also good, as is there coffee. Definitely a place to visit if you like Thai!

I had dinner last night with friends. Based on their personal reviews, I was eagerly optimistic. After dinner, my experience was greatly underwhelming, and my friends retracted their previous statements. From other reviews, I can only imagine that quality is a gamble and very inconsistent. First, the space is nothing special, but looks charming. The music was simple and soft. We were greeted right away and seated. There were three servers on duty, but throughout dinner, only one seemed to actually be working. The other two stood behind the bar and mostly talked to each other or looked around. Our server was friendly, but incredibly slow. Possibly because he was working alone. Also, when food was completed, the other two servers would come by after watching for a seemingly long time and remove one plate, or one bowl, or fill one water glass. It was bizarre. I had tom kha with chicken, but it was missing cilantro and chili. It was basically coconut, lime and chicken, with weak galangal. one friend had a similar issue with the tom yum. I did mention this to the server, who responded apologetically, but politely suggested that I should have asked. The entrees were slightly better. We ordered a pumpkin curry with chicken, a honey mango duck, and massaman curry with beef. The food was alright, but wasn't impressive. They were very short on spice and protein, and very heavy on veggies. even the vegetables were not very interesting, mostly carrot. The curry itself was thin and underwhelming. The duck was good, but very little of it. The chef did drop by our table, which was nice. We thanked her, and she asked if we needed more water. It was the only time that the other servers really arrived promptly. The pumpkin curry was $25, the duck was $30. I'll go back to Siam Sushi next time.

Im not sure where to begin. ...the dishes, staff, decor and ambience. Simply UNTOUCHABLE. I ordered Tom Yum soup w/shrimp. Light and crisp, both cleansing and pleasing to my palette. My vegetable cilantro w/chicken was perfection. My colleague and I assumed qe could handle 2x spicy seeing as though we enjoy pepper. #bigmistake. They not only kept the water coming to cool down our perspiration but the chef and owner made adjustments to our meal that made it tolerable. LOL. My supervisor enjoyed his meal cant remember exactly what he had but mentioned he has been to Thailand and the food was the best Thai cuisine he has has in the States.

One of the best Thai places I have had anywhere, to be honest. This is the 2nd time I have had the pleasure to dine here and each time hasn't disappointed. The dishes appear and taste full of fresh vegetables and meat. I would say try this or maybe even try that but really, I am confident in saying try anything and I am sure you will love it. - Udon: I had the udon choosing chicken as my protein. The chicken was slightly over done but the overall dish was solid good. Pad Thai: The quintessential thai dish, the chef is not shy with her distribution of spices regardless if it is set to medium or thai hot. One word = Delicious! Spring Rolls, Fried Rolls and Chicken Satay: All were good but the pleasant surprise were the fresh spring rolls. They were a clean taste and the dipping sauce just topped off the flavor beyond expectation. Recommend to a friend: YES! Attire: I would say jeans casual, nothing super fancy Price: Not expensive Portion size: Good

Food is quite good. Recently the price has gone up and the portions have gotten smaller so it's not the deal it used to be. We used to eat here regularly (every other week or so) but with the increases we won't be near as frequent. The lunch menu has some Thai wraps that are awesome - great taste and plenty to eat at a reasonable price.

Quaint, friendly and delicious. Their menu is extensive, with a variety of fish, tofu, noodle, curry, and other traditional Thai dishes. They have wine and beer. It's difficult to find -- way out on Capitol NE and hidden in a strip mall like everything else in Tallahassee -- but it's worth the drive. If you're looking for a decent Thai place here look no further. Reangthai is more than decent actually, it's about the best I've ever had.
