Yes, Southern hospitality, delicious food!!! The server was such a gentleman. Cool location right next to a little lake. Close to downtown. Affordable. I had the key lime pie and quiche, both were lovely. Yummy lemonade - tasted homemade and fresh. Not a fan of the salad, not very fresh and the ranch tasted off. We were here on a business lunch and all of my colleagues loved it too!! A must if you are in Tallahassee!

Service was very good! I had the artichoke and goat cheese quiche which was very nice. Great to sit outside and people watch at Lake Ella!

Mickey's ONLY fault is they aren't open for dinner! The menu is simple yet perfect. I always get the gazpacho and it's great. Daily quiches, creative soups/salads/ sandwiches, and top-notch desserts. The panoramic picture I've included today should drive the point home!

First timer! The menu isn't very large, that is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. I had the Californian and it was delicious!!!! Their homemade lemonade is stellar!

I'm on a road trip. Stopped here purely on yelp reviews. It was a good find! Homemade lemonade was soo good. We all got sandwiches (powerhouse, Ruben, and Cuban). They were made with fresh ingredients, and soo tasty. We had to try the Fran's famous pecan pie. I highly recommend. It was warm and not too sweet! Service was very good. Never let our glasses get low, even offered to take lemonade to go! Overall id go back.

It was a warm day out, so naturally the Lake Ella area was busy and this little cafe was no different. Unfortunately, there wasn't any outdoor seating available, but there was plenty of space inside. Our server was very attentive and nice, which is something anyone appreciates and expects. The sweet tea was great, sandwich options were very good, and the lakeside view is nice. I look forward to visiting this place on a summer night.

delicious fresh fast food. beware of the house dressing. it's very sweet. I had to ask the waiter if he gave me maple syrup by mistake :-P

Excellent sandwiches - had the California and the Grilled Chicken. Beautiful little patio on the lake, service friendly and actually took time to make eye contact and stop by to thank us. Nothing to complain about - and much less industrial than the 'other sandwich place' close by!

I'm so excited to have a cafe restaurant at Lake Ella. It is a peaceful, clean and quiet restaurant with beautiful modern art decorating its pale yellow walls. From where I was sitting, I could see directly into the kitchen, where the chef was delicately preparing a salad and quiche. The restaurant features many sandwich selections, and looking around they were very popular with the other customers in the restaurant. I heard nothing but compliments to the chef all around from the people in the room! My tastebuds tingled tasting the pecan pie, delicately savoring each bite, remembering how my grandmother used to make it. She never made us cookies, you see - only pecan pie. The crust was perfectly caramelized with sugar and pecans, and the body of the pie was a creamy, warm jelly. The spinach quiche tasted delicately of chicken broth, with at least two types of cheese, perhaps Swiss and Cheddar? It was savory spinach quiche at its best, complimented generously by a helping of house salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

Everything was very fresh and homemade in the little lake Ella cottage. Our server was wonderful to the point of lending us an umbrella to get back to the car. Yes, we returned it. The salad was crispy with a nice dressing. Ill be a regular here!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... Delicious and flavorful! My favorites are the spinach quiche, the reuben sandwich, the grilled veggie sandwich, and of course, their famous pecan pie. Each main course comes with a side item such as a salad or cole slaw and an orange slice. They are dog-friendly (look for the outside water bowl) and they accept take-out orders. They have indoor seating, but I prefer their outdoor tables. It's nice there because there are shade trees and a great view - a steady stream of interesting people and their dogs walking around the lake. You are bound to see someone you know.

A much needed sandwich joint on Lake Ella. The restaurant itself fits the feel of all the surrounding Lake Ella shops, very calm and collected. There are two small main areas, we sat in the back side where you have a perfect view of the lake and perfect for people watching as they walk their dogs or take their daily run. The food wasn't bad, but I wasn't blown away either, which is why I couldn't give it five stars. Just your typical quick bite sandwich place. I really enjoyed my tomato soup, very creamy and delicious. We ended up just getting sandwiches, but I wish we had tried their specialty quiche, just wasn't in the mood for it then. The service was also great, they are all very friendly and polite. Next time you're in the Lake Ella area take the time to swing by and take a quick break to enjoy the weather, people, and good food.

Standard fare. Similar to what I might make at home. Extremely slow service. Forty-five minute wait for food after order. In the 90 minutes we were there our drinks were refilled once. Only really positive is outdoor seating and lake view. If you plan to go there on your lunch hour - double it.

WOW. This is truly a local gem. The owner (Mickey) used to work at the cafe at Goodwood, and he made a smart move to Lake Ella. The place is small, but the staff is so sweet and personable. I recommend sitting outside if you can, the ambiance at Lake Ella is unparalleled. I had a hard time deciding what to order, and I finally decided on a cup of gazpacho, the grilled veggie sandwich with their homemade coleslaw. Everything was absolutely delicious. I really wanted to try their key lime pie, but unfortunately I was extremely full after literally eating every single morsel of my lunch. My first experience there was perfect, and I cannot wait to go back time and time again!

Very nice spot, of course, but the food we had was really, REALLY bland. The sandwiches we got sounded so good on the menu, but in reality . . . It was baffling how anything with such good ingredients could be so boring. Seriously, how could they mess it up? I would be very surprised if they had any prior experience with preparing food. First of all, the chicken was very dry, as were all the other ingredients. That, along with bread that was so dry we were afraid we could hurt ourselves trying to eat it, led to a very disappointing meal. We would have been much better off buying a sandwich from across the street at either Hopkins or Publix, then eating at a nearby picnic table. On the plus side, in addition to the view, our server was very nice and capable.
