Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Late one night, we rented some movies and wanted a late night snack. Came to this little tiny hole in the wall. Wow, small old building, inexpensive pizza. We ordered a medium pizza with one topping and some pokey stick's. Waited about ten minutes and we were on our way. Got home and started to eat, greasy, greasy pizza. Yes, now I understand why the poor college student's come here. I ate one piece and could not do another as the taste was all to much for me. The crust, the sauce and the ingredients were not bad, it was just so greasy. I guess if you have been drinking this place just may hit the spot nicely. Now the pokey sticks were awesome! Breadsticks with Parmesan cheese, oh they were delish! Side of marinara sauce and ranch for dipping. Daughter told me if you flash the guys working you get a free piece of pizza. LOL, great concept. But a big hell NO for me as it is not worth flashing over. The service was good, no complaints. I just think this city has better options. I will skip this place next time. Hungover, yep this may be where to eat!

Wanted stuff delivered to our room and they said no (we are 8 minutes away). This is why California is better. More accommodating. LA forever bitches!

Stroll down the Stripe - get wasted on beers and random conversations with college students about ACC and Politics. Then order a pizza from Gumby's - it's the only right order of things. This pizza is on the sweet and soft side but it's GREAT. They really do butter the crust, so if you are on a diet. This place will take it to hell. So just walk down to grab a slice.

It's good late night food. It's cheap but you should eat it when it's hot. The service is straight.

Definitely a great fast food pizza spot Pretty inexpensive Don't expect some sort of gourmet pizza from here Best time to go is Tuesday and Sunday when they have BOGO on pizza and pokey stix I would recommend gumbys Also try the ranch that comes with the pizza Interesting mix

It's actually decent pizza and for the price, it's great but it will send you to the bathroom fast! and that's enough to drop it from a 4 to a 3. Not to mention that there is only standing room for like 3 people in the front of the store.

Good portion for the money but that's about it! Sundays ads the day to go with buy one get one! Taste is ok for a drunk college student. But I would not go here on a regular basis. The garlic bread/cheesy bread was ok some people here think it is to die for! That is certainly mistaken! It is ok but good pricing is what keeps this place in business along with a good location.

don't count on this place for delivery. pokey sticks aren't bad though.

Awesome, only had it once and don't remember exactly what we got but I remember it was bangin'. I advise anyone who likes pizza and is in Tallahassee to hit up Gumby's.

It's the best place to go late night for pizza after a night out on the strip. It will be positively delicious if you've been drinking, decent if not. I suggest to use a napkin to soak up the grease if you're sober. The pokey sticks are good in marinara. Expect a long wait after 12 when most other businesses close.

This is the college stepchild to Momos abortion. At least they can say they are closed when they are instead of you guys taking online ordering by " mistake" with the only option being pick it up orcencel the order...wtf...

If you've never had Pokey Stix from Gumby's, go get some RIGHT NOW. Pretty much every college student in Tallahassee will agree. Their pizza is major-chain quality (that is to say; definitely edible, not the best); but the Pokey Stix in Ranch dressing are completely amazing. Don't miss! They have some good deals on Tuesdays and Sundays (2 for 1) as well as several regular specials. A college classic.

Gumby's isn't here to compete with anyone except Gumby's. Seriously. There's no worry about a diminished flow of business. If you're a past or present student, it's highly unlikely you've never had a slice or two from this place. I'm not going to go on and on about Gumby's Pizza. If you've had it, you understand what it is, and its place in your TLH history. I will, however, share with you all what I find to be a fascinating piece of history involving Gumby's. The year was 1991. A young psychedelics enthusiast by the name of Marshall Ledbetter had spent the better part of a week in early June on a continuous acid trip. During the first week of June, he had rented a Lincoln Town Car from Budget Rentals (on N. Monroe, I think). Anyway - in the wee hours of June 14, 1991 - Ledbetter broke in to the Florida Capitol complex. He managed his way to the Senate's Sergeant at Arms office and phoned an odd assortment of demands to somebody (presumably, the authorities). Where does Gumby's Pizza fit into all of this? - well, just hold your horses... As the dark morning hours moved on, Ledbetter faxed his demands to a local radio station. (See the photo I just loaded up). At the top of the demands list? - That's right, a 20" Gumby's Veggie with EXTRA Jalapenos. For a solid year, maybe more, the "Ledbetter Special" was known far and wide. you could call 22-GUMBY and simply order a Ledbetter. So... - Perhaps we should bring this oldie but goodie back to the Gumby's lineup. Oh, right... - whatever came of the incident? - well, Ledbetter was finally talked down, and the court ordered him on an anti-psychotic treatment of sorts. He spent some time at the Chattahoochee mental facility where he would unsuccessfully attempt a breakout later on that Fall. For more on Marshall Ledbetter, check out the Wikipedia entry. But, for now, try your luck ordering the Ledbetter special at Gumby's! - It's quite likely that the entire staff was born after this event - so they will perhaps appreciate the history lesson as well.

Great food. Terrible customer service. I called to complain that the food was 2 hours late and I got hung up on!!

The Ranch is . Gumby's is the only place where I will eat Ranch with my pizza. Now customer service wise, it just depends on who is at the front when you come. Some times you get a pleasant greeting other times it can be a bit snippy.

Tastes like they ripped off Papa John's....but then they changed the dough recipe by a fraction of a spice. It's certainly cheaper than Papa John's so I recommend Gumby's over one of those commercial pizza places (Papa John's, Domino's, etc) but if you're on a quest for that perfect pizza...let me stop you right there... This just ain't it. Maybe in a pinch? If everywhere else is closed? or if all other pizza places in Tallahassee burn down. This review is just for their pizza, no other menu item so I will update when/if I try other food items from them (I hear their pokey stix are good?).

Words/phrases associated with Gumby's: late night, drunk food, no A/C, stoner, carbs, ranch, Pokey Stix, cheap, long wait times, and Delicious - with a capital D. Pokey Stix are a right of passage for Florida State students. What are they exactly? In short, sauceless pizza cut into bite size strips. Mozzarella cheese, garlic butter and Italian spices are served with marinara (referred to as Pizza Sauce) and ranch for dipping. My Italian heritage is on the line here for expressing how well Pokey Stix pair with ranch dressing. Sometimes, the truth hurts. The pizza sauce pairs just as well. Forewarning, there are no seats inside, it's usually hot as summer, and wait times can be lengthy during peak hours. But I'll be damned, Gumby's knocks out truly satisfying food. You don't have to be an undergrad to enjoy the essence of Gumby's, but it'll sure as hell make you feel like one.

One point for being open late, 1/2 point for delivering exactly at an hour, and 1/2 point for being edible and not making us sick. Nothing special about this pizza, kinda like Little Ceasars w more toppings and costs more.

Held hostage: Apparently, if you order late at night during established business hours, you are considered a lesser customer fit to be laughed at. We ordered around 2AM and it is now 3:30AM and we haven't received our food. When we called to cancel our order, the person who answered the phone laughed at us and said the driver was on the way. That was over 30 minutes ago. I refuse to accept the fact that just because I'm in a college town and ordering late that poor service is acceptable. If you cannot provide adequate service during your advertised business hours, you should close earlier. Furthermore, after 3 am they will not answer your calls despite the fact that you are still waiting for the food that you ordered. Avoid this unless you feel they your money and business is worthless.

Pizza was amazing... cashier was highhh as hell. Still, the pizza was quick and turned out great. Will return.

Gumbys was our pizza place in college, many moons ago. If anything, get the Pokey stix! Pizzas are good and sometimes ok. Depends on what day and time you get your pizza. Good luck though with late night orders. Just get the pokey stix!
(3)Meghan D.
Great pizza for a great price. The Pokey Stix with homemade ranch is NOT to be missed and are half price on Wednesdays. Pepperoni and cheese pizzas are the most inexpensive --- but if you have the cash, a BBQ chicken pizza with extra onions is THE WAY TO GO! Definitely part of the college experience that should not be missed.

I'm not gonna lie, the pokey sticks at any Gumbys are good but the customer service at this location is always horrible. The last time I went there they allowed us to pay full price even though they had a deal going on. Overall, they just seem like a bunch of jerks. Don't go there unless you are drunk and/or in college.
