Very disappointed today. I placed my to go order in the store with my family, and they gave me a hard time about getting take out orders from the children's menu, even though the children were present. They let us place the order, but it was an awkward exchange and had I not challenged the waiter we would not have been allowed to place the order from the children's menu. When we got home I realized that our order was incomplete. When I called, they pointed out that they had not charged me for the missing food, which was my food. However, I had discussed my order with the waiter at length, and made my order based on his recommendation. I called them back and they offered to comp the order and give it to me for free if I came back, but i live 30 minutes away, so decided not to take them up on the offer. I really love this place and don't want anybody to think they aren't great, I am just really irritated that my family had to split their dinners with me since they forgot to put in my order and I didn't double check the bags since I am used to them being competent at filling orders. Bottom line: DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!!!!

Far East Cuisine is the best place in Tallahassee to get pho. This is not up for debate because it's a simple fact. I've been here on several occasions for lunch and dinner and have never had a bad meal. The menu spans Asia to include Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes, but Vietnamese food is their specialty. To reiterate, the pho here is the best in town. So first-timers, I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. The only difference between lunch and dinner (aside from the prices) is the bowl size -- lunch is "Asian normal" size and dinner is "American normal" size. The soup has a depth of flavor that is only enhanced by your condiment choices (i.e. - basil, hoisin sauce, sriracha, lime). They're a little shy with the beef, which is a bit frustrating, but still delicious. Not much of a soup person? Try a Vietnamese rice plate or a Vermicelli Salad Bowl. Which one? Doesn't matter because they're all good. Overall, the service and food are always great. The decor and ambiance makes this place good for every occasion whether it's a group outing, date night or dinner with the parents. So venture out to the this place and indulge yourself in some "far east cuisine".

I love pho and this place certainly curbed my pho craving. Very fresh ingredients and plenty food, one bowl of pho lasted me 3 meals. I went with friends who all got different dishes. My friends spoke very highly of the Chinese and Thai dishes they ordered. Service is very friendly/helpful but a little slow, certainly not horrible service. Would definitely go back again.

The waiter was so absent minded. Always ordered the wrong things, and messed up with the change. You told him you wanted a warm boba tea, he would just bring you one with a lot of ice. Stupidest service I have ever experienced! I won't go back!

They really do have great tasting pho. Their Thai food is also quite delicious. I haven't had any of their Chinese selections, but other people said it's pretty good. I truly truly wish, however that they had a vegetarian or vegan pho broth, as the other two restaurants in town that serve pho do.

A L.Y.C.H.E.E. review: Location: Convenient location for people traveling through Tallahassee as it is a few minutes from I-10. It is in the same shopping plaza with a TJ Maxx and Trader Joe's. Yum factor: Pho was decent, as per my parents. However, the bean sprouts didn't look fresh and the herbs were almost non-existent. I guess it might be due to a poor herb-planting season. I had the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio. The eggroll was delicious and the pork had a nice char with good flavor. I also ordered the tom yum goong (actually tom yum kai since I had chicken and not prawns) and it just didn't taste right. Cost: Most Vietnamese lunch dishes cost $7.25 and $9.50 during dinner. They also have Thai and Chinese dishes. Hospitality/Service: Although there was just one person waiting table, service was pretty fast. Environment: Clean, plain, and very open restaurant. Extra stuff: Overall a good place for Vietnamese fare, not so sure about Thai though.

The Pho is great! Very affordable, fresh and well done, although if you get it to go then be ready to build it once you get home as the ingredients are separated to preserve freshness. I would however, recommend sticking to the Vietnamese section of the menu as the items I have had from the Chinese side have left much to be desired. The staff is great and there is hardly ever a wait. Recommended.

Out of 2 times dining at Far East Cuisine, it's been average food with sub-par service. Both times were from the convenience of driving from 2 hours out to patron the Trader Joes 2 doors down. Trip #1 - (Saturday lunch) I had the Masaman Curry w/pork, she had the Pad Thai w/pork, and I ordered a Kamikaze sushi roll (20% off). The sushi was just ok..we have better from the much smaller town we drove from, yet the entree's we're really good. Service was slow, atmosphere feels very dated, and I had to remind them of our sushi discount, and walk up to the register in order to get the bill paid. Trip #2 - (Sunday lunch) We arrived again to shop TJs w/2 family members thinking that it would be at least as good, and definitely a convenience. Food was still slow, app of Gyoza Dumplings came out cold, as did an order of General Tso Chicken. Make that 2 since the waiter (seemed as if the only one on the floor!) put in 2 orders of GT, leaving off my wife's order of Mongolian Beef. My Phó Tái WAS excellent, though I wouldn't have complained for a bit more steak, the broth was excellent. My MIL had the Pad Thai which was pretty much spot on, barring the al dente noodles which she didn't mind. In conclusion, if you're here for a first time, don't expect a ton, but it should be fair-priced, run-of-the-mill Asian cuisine. Regardless, we'll be making a trip away from this particular shopping center for our next TJs run.

Love this place for its Pho and other Vietnamese fare. We go here very often. One star removed for all other cuisines as they aren't really spot on.

Great curries and soups. Mix of general Asian cuisines but all are above average. Staff is friendly and service is quick. They can usually give you some sriracha and chili oil to go if you ran out at home.

Unexpected and delicious gem off of I10. Passing through town while hungry, we were skeptical about it at first (it's got Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese under one roof) but were wowed at the soups. Then entrees came and we were impressed! The Pad Thai was tasty and bursting with flavor. My boyfriend ordered the lemongrass beef with vermicelli and was equally impressed.

Excellent selection of cuisine from multiple Asian nations. Normally the quality is lacking in a case like this but not here. Service was incredible as we stayed for almost 3 hours on New Years Eve and even changed tables when additional guests arrived. We had multiple stypes of each course ranging from apps to salads, entree and deserts. All the food had great taste, freshness and consistency. Special shoutout for the Green Tea Boba!

I've always had good experience when I visited this restaurant. Been here on numerous occasions. But again it has been almost 5 years since I lived in Tallahassee, so I hope they still keep up with the good flavor. I am pretty sure you can order Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, and some Japanese too. The restaurant is next to a Tjmaxx. So you can do some shopping afterwards to help with digesting food in your stomach.

We took yelpers' tip to order Vietnamese here and found our food fresh and tasty. Our youngest wanted pho bo vien which is not on the menu and they accommodated her request. The bo kho (beef stew) was a little watery but well spiced and went well with baguette. I loved my char grilled pork rice vermicelli (bun) and the size was just right for lunch. There was only one server this afternoon but he was very efficient and polite. He took orders, served our food and drinks and checked us out. Great family restaurant!

Only thing I like here is the Pho. Tried Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, fried rice, and chicken teriyaki. Pad Thai was ok. The rest I wouldn't order again. The ambiance is somewhere between cheap Chinese takeout and a sit down restaurant. It is clean though. Staff is polite and attentive. The food is sub par. If you want some good Pho this is the place in Tallahassee.

Far East Cuisine has the honor of being the first Vietnamese outlet in TLH. The bonus, for me, is that I can order Phô, sweet wife can order Thai, and chirrens can order from a variety of standard "kid's menu" options.

Just got back to the hotel with my General Tsao chicken from Far East Cuisine. For 12.96 I got less than a quart of white rice (because fried rice is $2 additional) a few grams of chicken and a crap load of fried doe acting as an imposter for chicken. What a rip off! Save your money and go else where.

I was greeted and seated when I walked in...alone..like usual. lol I ordered the shrimp spring rolls..they were aight. A little dry and lacking some flavor The Pho was on point though, the broth has a great flavor. Only thing was the sprouts were a little old and discolored. The service was great and location was super convenient to my travels.

On our way back from Key West/Miami/Orlando we stopped by Tallahassee to try out Far East Cuisine. We chose this place solely because it was conveniently located closer to I-10. Other Viet places were like 15-20 min drive deep inside Tallahassee closer to Florida State University. We could have just stopped by McD and grab a quick bite, but I had a serious craving for Pho and was determined to get my fix. Far East Cuisine was clearly the choice considering the proximity to I-10 and Yelp reviews. Pho Dac Biet (Beef Noodle Soup w/ all the fixings) - Nothing "dac biet" (special) about this soup.... 3.5 Stars. The broth was OK, none of the spices stood out. The broth wasn't as flavorful and aromatic as I expected, but hey it's still comfort food to me and I'm happy. Com Thit Tom Nuong (Rice w/ Grilled Beef & Shrimp) - Beef and shrimp were well seasoned and grilled to perfection, served on a bed of rice with sliced tomato and cucumbers. (4 Stars) House Special Fried Rice - Fried rice w/ chicken, pork, shrimp, and mixed veggies. (4 Stars)

My husband and I were passing through Tallahassee and had read about this place on Yelp, so stopped in because we were hungry for pho again (we have to have it at least weekly if not more). We were seated near the window at our request because we had our two cats in the car, so we wanted to watch the car. It was night and was cool and rainy, so we weren't worried they would get too hot, but still wanted to see them. It was a nice table. The restaurant was nicely decorated, but wasn't as clean as I would have liked. I'm pretty picky about this though. The wait staff was very efficient and nice. The pho was nothing special, the vegetables were also not very fresh. Brown tips on everything, sprouts and thai basil, and the veggies were not very plentiful like I've had other places. It was all just "OK" but nothing to rave about. Even if we had lived in the area I wouldn't have taken home what I couldn't eat. The prices were also a little steep compared to what we were used to. They did have coconut juice (not milk) which was excellent, and usually not found in our regular pho restaurants. Everything was just "good" but not "great".

This place must have recently changed hands. Sweet and sour soup had strong ketchup flavor despite fresh veggies. General Tsos was bland and had no broccoli or veggies of any kind. Egg rolls are awful. Perhaps Thai food is better.

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Features traditionally Chinese dishes as well such as fried rice, Szechuan, etc., but I prefer to stick to the Vietnamese side of the menu. My favorite dish is the Vermicelli salad bowl. It's delicious. Thin noodles topped with cabbage, bean sprouts, peanuts, cilantro, spring roll on top, and your choice of protein(try tofu) and served in a huge bowl with delicious sauce on the side. Te bhan mi is great too. I've never had a bad meal here. Bubble tea is also awesome here if you still have room for desert. The decor is minimal, but the restaurant is very clean and the wait staff is well dressed and attentive.

Came in on a Tuesday night and they looked like they were closed from the outside. I peeked in to make sure they were open & see if there were any other people eating. Sure enough, they were open & had one other party dining inside so we decide to go in. Inside is the typical mom & pop Asian restaurant with booth & table sittings but very clean. There's a sushi bar in the back of the restaurant but looks to be a discontinued thing. Far East's menu offered a combination of Chinese, Vietnamese & Thai (but leans more towards Vietnamese cuisine). So we decided to order from all 3 regions. Gyoza (2*) Teriyaki chicken wing (1*) - they need to do a better job cutting the wings from the drumsticks yelp.com/biz_photos/JorL… Pho Tai - Pho w/ rare slices of eye round steak (3*) Com Bi Cha Thit Nuong (3*) Rice with shredded pork, BBQ pork and baked egg Ck Lo Mein (1*) - for $9.75 this dish was bland, dinky & a total rip off yelp.com/biz_photos/JorL… Red Curry (2*) - water down curry yelp.com/biz_photos/JorL… Service (3*) Play it safe & stick w/ the Vietnamese side of the menu.

I've stopped here twice on my way back to Gainesville. It's pretty good considering I have to deal with Gainesville's Pho Hanoi, Bagels & Noodles, or Taste of Saigon for my Vietnamese cravings. They have a nice selection and the food always surprises me. It's above my expectations for a Vietnamese restaurant in a college town. Please don't expect Houston Vietnamese food.. They have a great selection from pho and banh mi all the way to pad thai and sushi.

prices, service and food are all great. my girlfriend and i ordered the summer rolls, a park bahn mi, and the clay pot special. the summer rolls were refreshing and the peanut sauce was delicious. the bahn me was with pork and bbq pork and it was SOOOO GOOOD, pork was juicy and delicious and the bread on the sandwich was great. oh and the bahn mi is only $4.75! the clay pot came with pork chicken and shrimp and the flavor cooked all the way through the rice, it was really good. can't wait to go back.

This place is awesome, partly because it's the only true Vietnamese restaurant in town that I have been to. Pho is almost like me mom makes and the rest of the Vietnamese dishes are very authentic. the only issue i have is with the rest of the menu that is Chinese, Thai, and Japanese. I think that it makes it too hard to focus on some specific dishes. I guess I am lucky that the cook is Vietnamese and they cook it very well. Always look forward to going back. I do agree with Duke that the service isn't 5 stars but they always seemed to care and they are very nice.

i think this place has one of the yummiest asian food in tallahassee! Been there twice and we, being asians, are not disappointed! Tried: Pho Ga -- Authentic broth. Finally able to find good noodle soup in Tallahassee. Best in this cold weather! Comes with condiments as they are sold in Vietnam, like bean sprouts and lime. Cant remember if there are mint leaves but cos I dun take them, it is fine with me! Viet rice plate with grilled pork chop -- yummy! Viet rice plate with pork chop, shrimp and charbroiled pork -- amazing!! u get a lot of meat variety for this and they are all delicious! Esp love the slices of pork with char pieces!! Viet rice plate with grilled chicken and lemongrass -- this is not bad.. but i will recommend the pork dishes. Tom yum soup -- only disappointment. will never order this again. Far east cuisine is definitely a must-go again in this town where most asian dining places not authentic and good.

Far East Cuisine is an elegantly decorated Vietnamese restaurant located in the shopping plaza next to TJMaxx on North Thomasville Road. This is the also the ONLY Vietnamese place in Tallahassee, so there is really no other choice. They have some Thai, Sushi, and Chinese options, but it is best to stick with what they do well. Order their delicious Vietnamese food. All of their grilled meat dishes are wonderful, as well as their Pho and Seafood Noodle Soups. Their Goi Cuon is delicious, I recommend trying it with tofu, as well as their Banh Mi (grilled meat sandwiches). Banh Mi is so difficult to find, even in larger towns in Florida. We in Gainesville have been yearning for a decent Banh Mi place for years. The best time to go is around Tet for the Chinese New Year, around the end of January), they have a special menu around that time and special decorations. They did add bubble tea to their menu. It was decent. If you are looking for Chinese food, I recommend reading the Yelp reviews for Bamboo House and ordering off of the Special menu, not the buffet. Otherwise, for Vietnamese, this is it!

We decided to give Far East a second chance but we should have learned our lesson the first time . On our first attempt My wife and me wanted to try a new place that had pho so we decided to try Far East. The pho was terrible I couldn't even eat it and I am by no means a picky eater. So on our second attempt I wanted to get my wife some lunch as she works across the street and she told me that we should give far east a second chance . I ordered chicken tempura and she ordered the beef pad Thai. I ordered the food to go and brought it to her work My food was so horrible I took one bite and threw the rest away. I know there are people that have given this place 4 stars and good reviews but it must be people that don't know what good Asian food is. If you want to risk it go try and see for yourself my suggestion is to not order the pho miso soup pad Thai or chicken tempura I promise you will be disappointed.

Having moved back to Tally from Ft. Walton Beach, where you can't throw a rock without hitting a Thai restaurant, I despaired of finding a decent one here till my wife told me about this place. Most restaurants that do multiple Asian cuisines just can't get any of them quite right. This one does, at least as far as Thai goes; I hear good things about the rest of the menu, but frankly I just prefer the Thai. My first time here I ordered Pad Thai Shrimp, "Thai-hot," & the waiter looked at me a little oddly. When I asked for the hot sauce he doubled the look but brought it anyway. I left a totally empty bowl, & a big smile & tip to match! Fabulous stuff! The heat in no way diminishes the flavor, & It isn't overly greasy like so many places fix it. Service is very good but never interferes with dining, something you can't say about some other places. Atmosphere isn't Lucy Ho's, but definitely among the better oriental restaurants in town. I'd give Far East six stars if I could! Definitely go there at lunch for the best price, though. I haven't seen the dinner menu but I hear it's a little pricey. (We went there again two weeks later & had the same waiter. He winked at me & asked if I wanted it like the last time. Told him, "You bet." & he said he'd see what he could do. It was very nearly hot enough, but I did use the red sauce again. When the check came, under my entree there were two entries: "spicy hot" & "crazy hot"! Really happy to have finally found *excellent* Thai in Tallahassee!)

Probably my favorite Asian restaurant in town, the pho is flavorful and served with fresh veggies and herbs. The stew is fragrant with anise and thai basil. The vermicelli noodles with bbq pork is my go-to meal, served with fish sauce, fresh veggies and herbs. The spring rolls with peanut sauce are a favorite of my kids and I. You will not do better for Viet food in Tally, though there are better options for Chinese and Thai.

Really good pho! Great prices for everything (Especially the bahn mi, a sandwich for $4!? can't beat that!) I want to go back and get some bubble tea and bahn mi at another time, and I definitely will be back. This is the only Vietnamese place in Tallahassee and its very good!

Had a hankering for Pho and was in the area so decided to stop in. We have been in here before for Bahn Minh (sp?) sandwiches and enjoyed it. Although it's not the best we've had, when you live in a place where ethnic food is hard to come by, it's nice to know you can satisfy your craving, if just a little. The pho was good, had good flavor and a big bowl. Could easily be shared by two people if you order other appetizers such as the spring roll. The shrimp in the spring roll was fishier than I would have wanted, but the dipping sauce was good. The service as ok, not the best, but I don't ever expect that to be a deal breaker at ethnic food restaurants - if the service is great, then it's an added bonus. Our waiter was slow and kept forgetting to bring us certain things requested. But he was also young, so maybe inexperienced? The boba tea was WAY too sweet and we ordered the red bean flavor but it tasted powdery - would not order that again. The boba consistency was chewy, but too soft = overcooked or sitting for too long. We would come back for pho and Bahn Minh sandwiches though and maybe try something new on the menu, but probably pass on the drinks.

The waitress is just rude and awkward. This last time we walked in and were ignored for a while, she seated us and didn't come back to offer us drinks for ten minutes, and she acted like every request I made was unheard of. I am not a terribly picker eater and I don't ask for substitutions or complicated preparations, just the absence of certain things from my meal. She acted like she was shocked at my requests, and gave me a dirty look when I watched my boyfriend fill out the receipt (he tends to over tip... but didn't overdo it this time, of his own choosing). Service in the past has been slow as well, even though I've never seen them crowded. Boyfriend likes to go for pho. He says it tastes authentic but he's had better. In their defense I will say that it is served with fresh bean sprouts and limes. I usually order Chinese and in general I've found their dishes to be strange in their preparation. They serve them in a style that you wouldn't expect, as if they don't really know what they're doing. My food was cold last time and missing baby corn that was in the menu's description. He got a rice platter and when we took the leftovers home I realized why he didn't finish it at the restaurant. It was just rice with a slab of meat, cucumbers, and lettuce, all drenched in fish sauce. I have never seen a platter served so plainly in any other Vietnamese restaurant. Prices for pho is pretty good considering they have no competition. The Chinese food you could get better and cheaper at any takeout place in town. My entrees and summer rolls have been mostly starch/veggies and very little protein considering the price. I would never come here if there were another place to get pho in town.

Great Taste and Portions! At first I thought it was a little pricey, but the size of the portions made up for it. I'm usually disappointed when I order Crab Rangoon when places have a few crumbles of crab in cream cheese in whats mostly fried breading...this was not the case here. They were stuffed full with chunks of the stuff and double cream cheese than I've had anywhere else. Both the Chinese and Thai menu items I ordered rocked, but next time I'll definitely ask for additional spicy sauce. The only downfall for me is that I'm kind of a delivery nut, and through gowaiter.com the food was super hot, but jumbled a bit. One of my summer roles was broken up and everything looked kind of sloppy. Plus, the sesame chicken was soggy. Overall, great food, probably just better to take out or eat at the restaurant if you order anything that needs to be eaten quickly.

FINALLY! Some great Asian cuisine in Tallahassee! After moving to Tally about a month ago from ethnic culinary nirvana Los Angeles, I've lamented the lack of good ethnic food here. I lament no more. I have finally found a great little gem of a place in the shape of a Vietnamese restaurant. Up until now, the Asian food I've had here (yes I'm Asian), has been, at best, passable. But on the recommendation of a Vietnamese acquaintance, we dropped in on this unassuming restaurant in an equally unassuming strip-mall (are all finds in unassuming strip-malls?). We stuck to the Vietnamese fare as suggested to us, and we weren't disappointed. It was as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders; I wasn't in a gustatory black hole and I would at least have an outlet for my Pho cravings while in grad school. Highly recommended. Now, I just have to find a good ramen shop!

Cold damp days, are perfect for eating at Far East. Pho noodle soup hit the spot for what ailed me today. Service is quick, the place is quiet and food comes to the table hot. Pho was hearty in beef flavor, I added bean sprouts to mine and Perry added hot sause to her's....a nice touch, customize your Pho...try it the next time you need some soup..

They actually open at 11, at least on Saturday. We drove around for 20 minutes because Yelp said it opened at 11:30. BOO! That obviously does not affect my rating. I will start by saying we have AMAZING Vietnamese food where I live in Arlington, TX - so we're spoiled. The summer rolls here were only ok, I did not like whatever they called 'ham', it was definitely not what Americans call 'ham' and I am not sure what vietnamese normally call it. I ordered the green curry, honey had one of the other curries, the kids had sweet & sour chicken and chicken with rice. They asked how spicy I wanted the green curry, and it came out with just the right level of spice. However, it was not at all sweet. To be honest, I have no idea how sweet a traditional green curry *is* but at both places I have ordered it in the past, it was sweet. So I added two packets of sugar to it and then it tasted more like what I was expecting. My bigger complaint with the curry was that it had the consistency of water. When I make a curry (and at other restaurants where I have eaten it) it is a thick and creamy sauce with a little bit of viscosity to it. You want it to coat the veggies and rice, not fall straight to the bottom of the bowl. I tasted my honey's curry, it had an interesting flavor but I can't say I liked it better than mine. The boys liked their food, but they are kids so it is always hard to judge. I decided not to order a boba tea when I saw they cost about 2 dollars more than a boba tea back home. Overall the lunch special prices were good, I think each of our meals was $6.99 plus whatever they ordered to drink. The service was friendly, fairly attentive, but we were literally the only people there. She asked if it was our first time because she didn't recognize us, I told her we were just passing through. All in all, it's fairly mediocre. It's a safe place to eat if you're passing through but hopefully it is not the best Asian food Tallahassee has to offer.

Ordered the pho and thought it was pretty good. The broth was a little watered down for my tastes. But I randomly chose the "Temptation Roll" off the sushi menu and it was so good, I have spent weeks back home in Louisiana trying to find a similar roll. The service was friendly. I will definitely stop back in the next time I am in the area.

The Vietnamese offerings are great (Bahn mi, pho, etc) as these are the house specials. My wife has said that the Sushi is pretty decent as well ... Chinese food is pretty standard, but for Chinese at a Vietnamese place its pretty good.

Lunch time and ordered V2 summer rolls that were to have ham and shrimp rolled in rice wrapper with rice noodles and cukes, onions and lettuce.don't look at the ham. It was very processed and the veggies weren't very fresh! I won't order that again! I had the new Clay pot that is a sauce with broccoli, pineapple, snow peas, mushrooms, cilantro on a bed of rice with beef. I ordered Thai hot. I really enjoyed this dish. The waitress did bring out extra sriracha sauce just in case. Hubby ordered Pad Thai with Chicken. Medium spicy. He said it was good but not very flavorful. I don't care for pad Thai so I didn't try it. Bu far,my meal was much better I will come here again!! They didn't accept my groupon for lunch - only for dinner menu so I will be back. Wish I'd known.... But that's ok. Waitress lost a dollar off her very very generous tip. I'll rate it again after the dinner.

Have been going here for years, and have been grateful enough to discover this place ever since I even moved to Tallahassee and it is my absolute favorite, and probably only place to get good Vietnamese food in Tallahassee. Their menu has undergone many different Asian cuisines, and I believe currently specialize in Chinese and Vietnamese food. The Chinese menu isn't any different from any other typical Chinese restaurant you may go to, but their Vietnamese cuisine is by far what I so dearly crave more often than not! For an appetizer definitely try their fresh Vietnamese spring rolls. They are so delicious and fresh, two is just not enough. I hold myself from getting more, so I can leave room for their bahn mi or Vietnamese po boy. So yummy! But the deliciousness does not end there. Their entrees come in extremely generous portions and range from their classic pho to different signature rice or vermicelli noodle dishes. My boyfriend enjoys the rice dishes- don't forget to top it with a fried egg! But I personally love the vermicelli noodle dishes. I've tried all but just get the one that has everything- pork, chicken, shrimp, and a fried spring roll on the side. Just splash that side fish sauce all over the dish, mix, and enjoy! After all that you can't help but leave happy and full. Prices are very reasonable, but really doesn't matter to me since the food is worth every penny of it!

For Tallahassee, this isn't bad at all. The service is nothing to write home about, but the menu features an array of Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese dishes. I've tried the spring rolls, pho, and pad thai and been pleased with them all, even if the food is sometimes slightly overcooked.

They have a very good beef stew. The meat is fatty and delicious. This can be a turn-off for some, but it is authentically Vietnamese comfort food! Service was good too.

I love Vietnamese food and recently discovered some in Tallahassee at this restaurant, which also carries a lot of Chinese and sushi dishes to cater to a broader clientele, I guess. Their pho was perfectly flavorful and their spring rolls were great. They have a variety of other dishes, including the Vietnamese po' boys, which I'll try soon. And bubble tea! I wish this restaurant wasn't so far away and that they had a name hints they serve Vietnamese food, or I might have kept overlooking it forever. It's clean and bright inside, especially for a Vietnamese place, and the service is good. The bill was more than I was expecting for comparable fare, but hey, where else are you going to get your pho on?

I come here quite often for lunch. I seem to almost always order the same thing: grilled tofu vermicelli salad bowl with a vegetarian spring roll. It never disappoints me and the price is very fair. I have tried some of the Chinese and Thai dishes and they are nothing special. But the Vietnamese food is very good. The pho is nice on a cold day. If you want Thai food, go to Siam Sushi. if you want Chinese food, go to China Delight. But if you want Vietnamese food, this is definitely your place! The people who work here are consistently nice, esp. Shalini and the service is always fast and efficient. I was surprised to read that some people have had trouble with service. I have gone here dozens of times and have nothing but good things to say about how we were treated. I also like that they play classical music tapes as background music (Chopin no less!) and that they don't keep a TV blaring like some annoying restaurants do.

I really like this place. I've been in the area for 6 days on business and had dinner here 3 times already (take-out). I've only had the Pho and the Beef Stew but both were really good. Honestly, it's kind of hard to mess up Pho and this tastes pretty much the same as I get at good Vietnamese restaurants in LA. The Stew was awesome with tons of really soft chunks of beef. The portions are quite decent sized. I also had the vietnamese spring rolls which again were as good as I've had in LA. They are generally tasteless so a lot depends on the sauce and the sauce here is quite frankly one of the tastiest I've ever had. Only downside was they wouldn't sell me 2 bottles of beer to go but maybe that's a law in Florida. From what I can tell, the owners are Vietnamese so if you come here, stick to the Vietnamese food. The people who gave bad ratings probably had the Chinese or Thai food.

Really good pho! Great prices for everything (Especially the bahn mi, a sandwich for $4!? can't beat that!) I want to go back and get some bubble tea and bahn mi at another time, and I definitely will be back. This is the only Vietnamese place in Tallahassee and its very good!

I will definitely stop back in the next time I am in the area.

i think this place has one of the yummiest asian food in tallahassee!

After all that you can't help but leave happy and full. Prices are very reasonable, but really doesn't matter to me since the food is worth every penny of it!

First restaurant to turn me on to Vietnamese food!! Fantastic pho!! Also, best crab rangoon with amazing dipping sauce. Yum!! Wish I still lived in Tallahassee because I miss this place!!

Still a favorite. The lunch menu offers a great value of tasty Asian cuisine. The place is always clean and the staff treats us great.

Great food, service and ambience. Had the red curry. Some the best I've ever had. Only -ve was that it was expensive for a "$". A "$$" would be more appropriate.

This place made pho popular in Tallahassee before anyone knew what pho was. I've tried the different varieties of pho here, and all are equally good. They also have a great selection of Chinese and Thai dishes on the menu. Their steamed or pan fried dumplings are a great way to start off a meal, and their Thai Tea is a must-have. The interior of the restaurant is a little dated, but this help gives Far East its mom-n-pop feel.

The food was pretty good and I liked how you can get most dishes with tofu/veggies. I ordered the panang curry with tofu which had pretty good flavours and we also shared a tofu pad thai (no egg). The pad thai wasn't very authentic-tasting but was still quite delicious. The portion sizes were reasonable and the food wasn't extremely greasy either, which was nice. However, a really big complaint is the service since the food took so long to come I actually had to complain. We also had to wait so long for our waiter to pick up my credit card that we just paid up front. Considering the fact that the place was not busy at all, there really isn't much excuse for such slow and inefficient service.

Pretty good Vietnamese food. I am accustomed to the caliber in Nashville, TN (which is actually pretty damn good) but Far East gets the job done. If you like fresh light delicious food try Bùn --- you are in for a treat. The wait staff is pretty great too.

This is one of my go-to spots in town. The prices are great and the food is even better. My two favorite dishes to order when I'm there are Vermicelli salad bowl and the massaman curry. Everything I have ever had is fresh and flavorful.

On those rainy days and sunday mornings after a long night out don't you sometimes just crave Pho! It was one of these occasions so my friend and I came here to eat. I ordered the Pho with regular slices of beef. It was a fairly small amount but the right portion for me. The first rule to eating pho is the taste test without adding sauces. If it tastes good and you feel like you could eat it without anything else, regardless if you will or not, then they pass the first round. This one unfortunately was a bit plain and so I had to drown it in hoisin and sriracha sauces. The side veggies did not look too fresh and disappointing as well. For an appetizer I had gotten eggs rolls, which were tasty but nothing amazing. I really did enjoy their Milk Tea Boba though! That was some pretty tasty stuff. Overall there are not too many choices for pho or vietnamese food in Tally, but this place is alright. It will help your craving, but not completely satisfy you. They have great prices and friendly staff.

The staff is great and there is hardly ever a wait. Recommended.

Out of 2 times dining at Far East Cuisine, it's been average food with sub-par service. Both times were from the convenience of driving from 2 hours out to patron the Trader Joes 2 doors down. Make that 2 since the waiter (seemed as if the only one on the floor!) put in 2 orders of GT, leaving off my wife's order of Mongolian Beef. My Phó Tái WAS excellent, though I wouldn't have complained for a bit more steak, the broth was excellent. Unexpected and delicious gem off of I10. Passing through town while hungry, we were skeptical about it at first (it's got Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese under one roof) but were wowed at the soups. Excellent selection of cuisine from multiple Asian nations. Normally the quality is lacking in a case like this but not here. Service was incredible as we stayed for almost 3 hours on New Years Eve and even changed tables when additional guests arrived.

I'll rate it again after the dinner.

i think this place has one of the yummiest asian food in tallahassee!

Just ok. We've been here a few times and each time is about the same. The menu selection seems pretty good but the food is just alright. The ambiance is ok but needs improving. You leave wishing it was better.

  • Korn T.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
