Super fun night. I bought our tickets online and we had seats saved for us on the front row. Despite having assigned seats, we saw friends there we knew and they allowed us to move next to them and swapped seat assignments. The online buying process was easy, and the follow up emails helped with directions and processes before we arrived. The show was fantastic, people there were really nice. Small venue allowed a chance to meet the band. Lots of dancing going on during the show. Beer / wine prices were very fair and they have a little fried food shack next door with great fried catfish and fries for $10. Can't wait to start making this a regular stop.

My mom took me here one night while I was visiting. Drove me down a long bumpy road into ye woods and we arrived at this little place. Once I got inside I fell in love with it. The painted tables on the walls, the feel of the place. The music was wonderful. The crowd was diverse. The bonfire and catfish stand out back was a perfect top off to the night. Found it to be a very interesting little hidden gem.

We took a road trip just to see Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials at this place. My friends in Tallahassee warned me I'd be shocked. If they had not prepped me and told me it was safe I probably would have turned around and left. What an experience ! This place is down a long dirt road in the middle of no where, but they attract some of the best blues names in the business. The owners (pictured as their main photo) are really really nice. I think his name is Gary, ended up talking to him for a while asking about how they get so many good acts to come to this bleep hole. He said the place has a lot of history and the musician's just love to play here when they are in the area. It is a small place (your typical blues club) by standards. If you've been to Buddy Guys Legends in Chi Town it's probably about 1/3 the size. But you're really close to the stage, there's a small dance area. Oh ya, no mixed drinks, only beer and wine ! We will be back ! Highly recommend if you like Blues.

We just love this place. It is close to our house and every time we are just amazed at the awesome musicians that are playing here. You truly do not feel like you are in Tallahassee because it is something extraordinary and different unlike any other live music venue in Tally. The owners are always there and you can tell that they truly love music and sharing it with others. I very highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun night out that enjoys live music.

Very unique and truly authentic for Tally. We hit it on a Saturday night and it was LOUD! Don't expect to really be able to talk. It was kinda cool that they were playing live on the radio too. Good space for dancing, seemed like a good amount of seating but you'll probably want to arrive early and seriously bring the ear plugs. You'll be able to hear the music just fine with them in and it won't hurt as much. The scene is backwoods and dive like but that doesn't mean that the people aren't cool. Seemed laid back and to be having a pretty good time. A couple of the servers seemed quite "focused" on their work ;) and not so much on the customers but who knows what that's about. They were nice though, so no complaints their and super fast. During the intermission you can go outside and order fresh and fried catfish and fries from a woman who has a small space near the entrance to the place. If you see a shack looking place with a line of people at it...that's probably it. It's just so unique you gotta get some at least once. I was a little surprised by it...cheap and I loved the stuff. Of course, when you've have a few drinks fried anything is amazing! In the end, you gotta check this place out. Such a unique experience all the way around. Even if you don't really care for the music I bet you'll walk away glad that you checked it out. It's the very definition of local!

On a dark March night, a taxi prowled the backroads a dozen miles south of the Georgia border, looking for "Sam's Lane" after a curve in the road. The meter was off at this point after too many wrong turns, but soon we saw the glint of tiki torches on the side of the road. "That's it!" Finally. Thought we'd never make it. The driver turned hesitantly onto the dirt road and started driving into the dark woods. The ruts got pretty bad. "What the hell is this?" he asked. "Just a bit further up the road," we assured him. Moments later we came upon a clearing with cars parked here and there under matronly moss-draped Virginia live oaks. Our driver peeled out and left us standing in front of a cinder-block shack. The entry was a sort of tarp vestibule lined with a string of Christmas lights, shielding a lady and her cash register from chances of rain. Bass rumbled the walls, occasional guitar notes pierced through. "It's a juke joint," one of my companions said. Bradfordville Blues Club is the definition. We paid and went in. A tiny place with room for maybe 50 people to comfortably sit or dance. We picked up a few bottles of beer from the bar and settled in to Seth Walker's lilting blues. We danced. Everyone danced. From under his fedora, Seth smiled. At setbreak I headed out to the massive bonfire out back. A guy from Tallahassee told me people come from all around to see groups play here, but about half are locals who come to all the gigs. Lucky folks. One of the regulars is in charge of the bonfire, and he was doing a bang-up job. Another local who lives behind the club comes out to sell fried fish and other snacks at a rundown shack near the bonfire. He was blaring blues on his jerry-rigged stereo, flashing a nearly toothless smile. I wanted to try the fish but I had already eaten enough crawdads and shrimp earlier to discourage the idea. The second set began. Seth played the blues to the adoration of a thinning crowd. After a rousing couple of encores, we hung up hopes of another. Seth took a seat at the bar to hang with a few fans, and I asked the bartender if he'd call a cab. Sure thing. Half hour. We drifted outside under the stars and argued about what type of glorious trees these were. One of the locals (Mr Bonfire) insisted on showing us a tree with breasts (strategically placed knots) and confirmed that the trees were live oaks, Quercus virginiana. I wandered over to the dwindling campfire to chat with the fish monger about his blues cd. He fell off his chair while telling me about his beloved Corey Harris. My friends whistled. Our cab was waiting under the trees. We happily piled in, and drove away from the timeless blues glade.

I was here a couple of times and always had as much fun as you can imagine having in the backwoods of Tallahassee. OK, I'm really asking you to stretch that imagination, I know. The club is really just a shack in the backwoods down a dirt road. You know that they are open if there is a torch burning at the end of the road. Somehow this little cinderblock shack, in the middle of nowhere is on the national Blues Club Circuit and they end up getting a lot of great blues bands even though I can't imagine fitting more than 40 people in the place. There is a small bar that carries a few of the standard beers and the walls are just painted cinderblock which means your ears will bleed when the guitarist squeals on the high notes. During intermission you can step outside and hang out in the woods by the bonfire. This is about as close as you can get to the authentic backwoods blues experience. If you are in Tally and are looking for some gritty blues, this place is your ticket.
