Not a fan of their waffle fries, they always seem to be over cooked. Ordered the fully loaded steak fries and was surprised to see that they came with jalapenos, even though that wasn't listed on the menu as an ingredient. Should have asked before. Been there for brunch several times before -- that's about the only time I go anymore. Brunch is a little pricey, about $14; menu is a limited but pretty good.

After a disappointing lunch, my friend and I wanted a nice dinner. We polled and few people and they said to come to Andrew's. We first walked into the upstairs restaurant which is more casual, but we bailed and went next door. Once we were seated, we knew we had made the right choice. Whatever you do, get the tableside Caesar. Yes, they make it for you at your table and you can customize to your liking - we requested less mustard but more garlic. One bite it and I can definitely say that it was the best Caesar I have ever eaten. The dressing was tangy in a good way and they even make their own croutons. Very happy to start with that. We ordered two of the pizzas from the appetizer/small plates section, along with the lobster risotto. The pizzas were fabulous - thin crust, high quality toppings (we had the meat lovers and the fig/proscuitto) with a good red sauce. But the risotto was a disappointment. Lesson learned. Now we know how to order for the next time.

Another place that needs that 1/2 star - better than three but not quite four. Limited wine list but cheese plate from sweet grass was as good as any I've had in NYC or Chicago! Stuck with small plates and wish more places offered that - very good peppered petite filet but unnecessary goat cheese topping and not great sauce with it. Would have been perfect with better Bernaise... Risotto cake was blah but asparagus perfect and dessert options were nothing terribly interesting so passed on that. Would come back but not a "must" go...

Typical American type restaurant. You will not be disappointed and you will not be amazed either. The amazing aspect comes from people watching and seeing the ins/outs of the government at work. Go here for safe food, but enjoy it for the atmosphere and the education in how our government works.

We dropped in for their Sunday brunch. Excellent brunch. Everything I had was fresh and tasty. I go straight to the omellette station, then the hot brunch line with eggs benedict, sausage, bacon, french toast. There was more stuff, but I didn't want to stuff myself, full of other...stuff. They have a nice carving station, which I also skipped. Nice salad bar, and some hot items. Of all things, Lasagna. It was also really good. Go for the brunch on any given Sunday.

This was a stumbled upon restaurant by my friend and I, after finding Jasmine's to be closed. It was Sunday lunch, and the crowd was not overbearing. They offer a brunch buffet on Sundays, and their menu is also cut down to brunch only. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito, and it was very good. It was stuffed full with sausage, hashbrowns, tomatoes, onions, peppers, eggs, and press-grilled for a crusty finish. The meat and eggs and peppers blended really well. It was served with the typical salsa and sour cream. You get the choice of two sides, and I ordered grits and sausage. The sausage was horrible. Depressing. I was expecting a nice, spiced patty to accent the grits; instead I was given a bowl of four links tantamount to ones found in Jimmy Dean frozen bags at Walmart. The grits were the saving grace. Some of the best, creamiest grits I've ever had. I highly recommend them. I wasn't blown away by this place, though the burrito and grits were good. I had to ask for the sour cream and salsa, and only ended up getting the salsa. It's a bit pricy too: $11 for the burrito, which could have been bigger to fill the stomach, and $14 for the buffet (the sole reason I didn't chose it).

I think I've better breakfast at shitty roach motels than I did here. Went there for Sunday brunch buffet before Christmas. There weren't too many people around and that was a sign. We should've bolted, but we didn't have time and a friend had recommended it. Where to even start? Most everything on the spread looked old, crusted and very un-appetizing in general. The worst though has to be the hash browns. Sad, old looking potatoes literally swimming in a pool of oil. And the oil must have been rancid because the potatoes had the rancid, near bitter taste to them. Our omelettes were the only things that were edible and even that was a bit overcooked. The less said about the "French toasts" that had gotten stuck to the dish, the better. Eek! How difficult is it to cut up fresh fruits? The fruits looked rotten and old, all shriveled up and slimey. I don't know if this was just our bad luck, but I would recommend people to stay far, far away from this place. For almost $40 for two for brunch, this is one of the worst meals (let alone brunch/breakfast) of my life and an expensive one at that.

A little better than 101 because their food is tastier. Serivce is uninformed about taking care of customers. waited way to long for our food, and then was told to "Give me your money" from our server when it came time to pay. Similar to 101 but still a disaster!

Good place! I was there for a business dinner and my associates were from overseas. There is a decent upscale menu; the filet I had was very good. It's a little pricey, as should be expected for a place like this, especially with the intimate, modern ambiance. I always order mine medium rare, and it came out just as I'd asked. Good thing, because when you order a $29 steak, you want to get your money's worth. The presentation was very nice. Service was fine.

This place is different. It's hard not to feel the airs of the capital when politicians are in and out along with Capital police (and it's hard to tel who they are if you haven;t worked in the capital.) I've had interest conversations with ambassador from other countries to small city majors. I think this is just a place to be seen and waste your money because the food is just above decent. So if you're coming just for the food, save your money and do take out from some of the many downtown shops. But if you have some time to wait on a table (which can take time), sit down and people watch.

I have been to Andrew's a few times. My most recent visit was for my birthday yesterday. I went with about 10 colleagues from work and we had a good time relaxing outside under the giant Magnolia tree. We sat outside so some of the group could bring their dogs, which they did. The drinks were good and they have a good selection of craft and mass production beer. A little something for everyone. The prices are reasonable and the appetizers were delicious but our server was not very attentive. All in all, a decent experience for a large group.

Sunday brunch is amazing so many options from eggs Benedict, hash browns,grits, waffle and omelet station, salad bar fresh fruit amazing soups and desserts! Add $2.99 mimosa! Delish great place to watch the Sunday games!

I'm really not impressed by Andrew's 228. It's a really tight space, you have to sit awkwardly close to other diners. The hostesses are borderline rude which is never a great way to start your experience. The food is a little bit pricy and not that great- just bland Italian food. Overall forgettable.

I think this place is kinda overpriced for what it is, but it is okay for happy hour. The food is just standard American fare. Drinks are an okay deal, but appetizers are still pretty pricey during HH. I kind of like 101 better for downtown because at least it feels kinda fancy for the price!

I thought this place would be decent. But then I realized it has a captive audience and there aren't too many choices in the area. It was a beautiful spring day in Tally with temperatures hovering around eighty. Humidity was low and the breeze was perfect. We decided to sit outside. The place looks like it might be good but I was disappointed immediately when my menu came and it was a cheesy looking laminated card with typical menu items. Then the table next to us was served and their plates looked pretty mediocre. I ordered a burger while my tablemates ordered some chicken caesar salad thing. I'll keep this short. Not good. I wouldn't say it was entirely bad. They did have Guinness on tap but no Bass so a black-and-tan was out of the question. Why bar managers decide to carry Guinness on tap without an accompanying pale ale is beyond me. Service was okay. Very impersonal and it took awhile for us to be noticed as it was seat yourself mode in the middle of the afternoon. If you're in the area and you have no other choices, I guess this place will do. Oh yeah, they have a lunch salad bar buffet thing that looked...well...predictably mediocre too.

3.5 stars. This is probably the first review that I have rated a restaurant above its average Yelp rating. Went there cos we bot a Groupon. Since Andrew averages only 3 stars on Yelp, we went with low expectations. However, I have to say it is not bad! We like it better than Clusters and Hops. We ordered 3 appetizers - lamb chops, mussels and pizza. Liked the lamb chops cos i am totally a lamb person. Wish it was a little more charred tho. Mussels were not freshest i have tasted but it was ok. Sauce definitely was better than the mussels. For the price, the portion was rather big! Pizza is a crispy thin crust with good toppings. It's more like a "cracker" than a pizza but it was still good! So the meal started of rather well! Oh, the flirtini was delish too! :) Then the mains was a disappointment. We ordered grouper. It was overcooked and not too well flavored. I liked the risotto that came with the fish better tho my hub tot it was rather bland. Too full for desserts but maybe we will pay Andrews another visit to find out! But i am on a mission to try out all "top" Tallahassee's fine dining restaurants before i leave in a month so there may not be another time! :/

Remember... This is a college town restaurant with a diverse menu. The best seafood gumbo in the I've had in the states (La Bastide Odeon in Paris France is #1). It is respectably hot, and I can eat some hardcore spicy gumbo. A must try.

I went to Andrew's for lunch outside with a couple of friends. It was during the legislative session so it was very busy, but our server handled it well. I ordered the Admiral clicken club sandwich, and it was really good. The fries were a little on the greasy side, so I didn't have many of those. The outside area is very spacious and offers some shade if you sit in the right spot. It's a little tricky when it's crowded because the tables are a little close together, but it works fine. The inside is very sports-bar, but I really like dining outside. All in all, Andrews is a solid place for lunch (or dinner) when you're downtown.

For an interesting atmosphere, high quality food, and great wine, you'll want to try Andrew's 228. I am very pleased with the Chilean Sea Bass, and the people I was with ordered the bone in prime rib. They loved what they ordered, and my dish was great. The wine selection we very nice. I was able to have a very enjoyable, and professional dinner meeting at this place. I will surely return to this place!

Came for lunch. Sat outside on patio. Super friendly staff. Quick service. & the most amazing Turkey Club sandwich - get this.... Made with REAL TURKEY! Not often you get carved turkey anymore vs nasty deli processed turkey!! Love it!

If you are downtown I would recommend visiting. The food is good and the service is not bad either. During lunch this place gets packed so go early or take a late lunch so you miss the lunch crowds.

Its an institution and over the years the owner has been very clever at zoning into what people want and will keep coming back for. Having said that the food and drink are just average. The outdoor setting and location is very nice and very good for seeing and being seen at the capital.

Our poor waiter was straight-up an airhead; when asked what he preferred between a particular chicken and a particular lamb dish, to paraphrase his response: "Well the chicken dish is... chicken, and the lamb dish is lamb so it really just depends on if you like chicken or lamb." He wasn't even being facetious. Other than that, our meal wasn't too memorable. The cocktails were decent, the app (a gorgonzola cheesecake) was tasty, and my grouper was well-cooked but bland and uninteresting enough that it could have been served on a tray in a nursing home. I would maybe go here for drinks but at the price I wouldn't eat here again.
