I have to admit that I was skeptical of trying this place out due to the amount of negative reviews I read here. I am so glad I ate here!!! My hubs and I were driving from NOLA to Miami and needed to stop for dinner. The hours between Pensacola and Tallahassee left us starving and desperate for anything we came across. Unfortunately, there aren't many dining options anywhere near Tallahassee on Sunday nights after 9pm. Thanks to Yelp, I found this spot. Turns out, they serve food till 2am! We were pleasantly greeted and given our choice of tables. We'd arrived just as the main kitchen was closing, so the hostess provided us with the late night menu. With all those hours in the car, I'd already browsed the menu and made my decision on food from the regular menu. Our super friendly waiter walked back into the kitchen and asked if our requests could be accommodated. They did accommodate our food wishes and served us one of the most surprisingly delicious meals. He ordered the Apple Gorgonzola Pork Chop and I had the Candied Walnut Encrusted Grouper. Holy Cannolli! These were perfectly cooked and beautifully plated dishes. The waiter was also so sweet and appreciative of our compliments and thanks for having been so accommodated and well-received! He happily accepted the 20% off check-in offer and wished us well on our late-night journey to Miami. We felt he more than earned his 30% tip. Whenever I return to this college town, I look forward to coming back. Superb service, mouth-watering food, and a chic and modern environment.

101, how I love thee! #1: you are open till 2 am in a city where everything closes at 10 pm; 2) your full bar and specialty cocktail selection was oh so delightful; 3) my server, Brock, clearly took pride in his work and went to all ends of the earth to make sure my casual dining experience felt more like a fine one; 4) your people-watching offering of college kids made me feel like I was 21 again; and 5) your 101 style turkey burger was scrumptious (spinach and artichoke dip on top of a burger? Don't mind if I do!!)! I also had the 101 style edamame--yum! And the Chocolate Raspberry martini for dessert! While this food isn't gourmet, 101 FAR exceeded my expectations for a late-night college restaurant. So much so that I feel bad calling it that, but perhaps on a Friday or Saturday night, the scene is different. My experience, however, was great. Certainly a great bang for the buck!!

YUCK. Y'all, I just spent $10.99 on possibly the grossest lunch I have ever received. I got the Turkey Caprese Wrap with sweet potato fries. A $8.99 lunch special with upgrade to fries for an extra $2.00. Holy disgusting. First of all - there was no "sweet basil chiffanade". I don't know what a "chiffanade" is, but there certainly wasn't one. Second, I really didn't expect "delicious smoked turkey breast" to mean canned, two inch chunks of rancid turkey. If it was even turkey at all. Looked EXACTLY like canned chicken to me. When I say rancid, I mean, I'm almost positive I will have food poisoning from the spoiled mystery meat I just took a bite of. I literally am considering taking ipecac. Now on to the "balsamic mayo"... 101, just because you say it's "balsamic mayo", doesn't mean it is. You have to add something to the mayo... otherwise it's just mayo. Don't lie to me, I have taste buds. To top everything off, the quarter cup of cold, wimpy sweet potato fries were pathetic. Hard, cold, unseasoned, previously frozen sweet potato fires. FOR TWO DOLLARS? I could have bought those from the grocery store and put them in my oven myself. Just terrible. I will NEVER be back.

A brand new menu debuted August 10. It will take me a while to work my way through it but the two new items I have had so far - the fried avocados and the buffalo oysters - are delicious. Even the already superlative martini menu was refreshed. The new Corey's Cucumber Martini sports delicate flavors. The cucumber lends the beverage a green hue and a light fresh taste. My go to cocktail is the Dirty Byrd martini. I exchange the Grey Goose for Tito's for personal preference sake and this drink never disappoints. I think they must have a special bartender tutorial on the ice crystal to vodka balance because they always get it right. Plus this martini is really dirty enough. I'm the one saying "extra dirty" at other bars because most places don't get hit quite the right dirty quotient. And what can I say about those amazing giant bleu cheese stuffed olives? First, Tallahassee bars -- get the right sized olives! Those tiny salad olives do not belong in a martini glass! Go to 101, order one of those martinis and then make that happen at your place! If you've been reading my reviews, you know I also comment on the social aspects of establishments. 101 boasts some of the best people watching "see and be seen" activity in Tallahassee. If the Legislature is in town, this is one of the go to spots for staff, legislators, lobbyist, and the rest of the Gucci loafer crowd. I also love the outdoor space on the plaza. Plus, this place offers prime real estate on football game weekend Fridays in the fall. There will be concerts. Tip: The FSU cheerleaders and a few Marching Chiefs are likely to make an appearance. When 101 offers special events like tequila tasting dinners, reserve your spot. You won't be disappointed. Meanwhile I am counting the days until the Tallahassee Hospitality Group's latest venture opens. If the food matches the view at the Edison, we are all in for an epic experience.

First off - a healthy 20% off coupon just for checking in is a very respectable offer. So, THANKS 101! I've never come for dinner before - so I didn't know what to expect. turns out, this is a nice place for bar food, burgers, sandwiches as well as some good and creative entrees. We were a party of 10 (my wife's birthday party) and had a table waiting for us. Our server was very likable and professional, and knew the menu. Our apps came out just on time, and drinks were freshened as needed. At the end, our server handled our bill without any problem (3 cards split evenly). There's a very nice outdoor seating area - with plenty of people-watching available if that's your thing.

I'm in a hurry so I'm keeping this review short and sweet. Popped in here for dinner with a coworker the other night during a business trip. I went with the filet mignon and my coworker got the buffalo pizza. The filet was cooked to a medium-rare perfection and was nicely seasoned. My coworker was a huge fan of the pizza. The drink specials and service made the place even better! I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, friendly faces, and fantastic food. I reserved a table on the OpenTable Application and when we arrived for our 8:30pm reservation, we had a table within seconds. The host greeted us with a warm smile and told us a few details about the menu. After about a minute, the server approached our table had waters ready to place on the table and spoke about the happy hour and food specials. You can't beat $4 drinks in this town. I sure don't. Food came out within 15 minutes and was served like it came right out and not the "cold" food that has been sitting there for 30 minutes feel. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla and if you love seafood, you have try it out for yourself! I will definitely be a regular at this restaurant.

To be honest, the only real reason I come to 101 so often is for their happy hour and amazing cocktails! It is conveniently located in downtown Tallahassee where some of the bar scene is around. They have two happy hours and both do not disappoint me. The Dirty Byrd is hands down one of my all time favorite drinks. A nice dirty martini with these great stuffed olives. My friends also like the Champagnetini, Cosmos, and wine selections! If I was going to rate them on their bar aspect alone I would give it a good 4.5 stars, but of course they are in line with all of those other College Town places trying to be more than they really are. Food is pretty basic and while we usually always order appetizers or an entree when we come here, it is rarely something to rave about. Staff has its ups and downs, but I typically like to joke around and converse with them. Ambiance is nice with dim lighting and a booth is always recommended. You get an exclusive little feel and can gossip with all of your friends. Patio is okay every once and a while. Be wary of Friday and Saturday nights because it will be super busier! Check in on Yelp to get a 20% off discount!

I came into 101 restaurant expecting the same thing. I was amazed to find out about above and beyond service i recieved from ALL the employees at the restaurant that day. I didn't care for the new menu change at all, but the service took my mind off of that. The drinks were great as always. The only thing that got a little bit annoying was overly checking but overly checking is definately better than under checking! Had a great time! Will come back!

I've visited once for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Everyone raves about the patio because the location is prime, especially if there is anything going on downtown. My experience inside was also pleasant. Although not a big space, it's comfortable and there is a large bar. I went for the burger and wasn't disappointed. I've seen mixed reviews, so I'll only vouch for my lunch. It came on time and was good. Worth checking out to form your own opinion.

Not a big fan - pricy apps and entrees for what i consider chain-style quality. Drinks are decent price during happy hours but outrageous at full price. Hoping their new location takes on a more local-sourced food approach.

In a word, uninspired. Did lunch. Ahi Tuna salad. It was a good choice. Especially enjoyed the restrained use of a delightful sweet ginger dressing. It could have been overwhelming, but it was just about perfect. Others in my group were less than delighted. Two dishes went back to the kitchen for additional work. Maybe stick with the dinner menu? Service was great. Would I go back? Probably. The potential is there, and my suspicion is that more care goes into plates that aren't on the loss-leader lunch specials.

I really enjoy 101 restaurant. I always get the pork chop and it's great every time. They also have great drink specials and great house cocktails. If your in Tallahassee I highly recommend it. Richard was a great bartender who took care of us.

Great food! Everyone at my graduation lunch loved their meal. Service was excellent. They even have a coupon for yelp users for 20% off your meal! They also have a double happy hour with all their drinks half off during the week!

the beer battered calamari was divine with the balsamic dipping sauce. The salmon Florentine was incredibly delicious. The pecan crusted edges kept the salmon so tender. The mash potatoes were out of this world!! The creamy cheese sauce was not heavy....very light. You will be full with the large portion of salmon.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary dinner last night. The restaurant was freezing, and the cocktails took forever to come out. The waitress came back three times to tell us that the bartender was busy. The drinks had no alcohol in them even though I ordered a sangria. The food was horribly dry especially the chicken. I ordered Mac and cheese that had no cheese and was basically noodles alone. We left for dessert because the experience was awful and overpriced.

Worst customer service ever experienced anywhere! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place - had a manager approach our table after we had waited almost an hour for our food and had just received and paid our bill to ask if we would be leaving soon because he had others waiting for our table. Unbelievably rude and unacceptable behavior for any establishment even if we had been lingering.

Had a reservation on a Friday night during Get Down Downtown so it was massively busy. Didn't wait too long. The waiter was adept at up-selling but still efficient. He warned us of the longer wait for food than usual due to the night's events. I ordered the filet even though the reviews were dismal. It was delicious. The asparagus was grilled and perfect. The potatoes were good. I managed to taste several things around me- Mac and cheese w/ bacon- had a unique flavor - a bit spicy but tasty. The wings were also seasoned differently but still the buffalo flavor. Very good!! Downsides- my Moscow Mule was not served in a copper mug. My fellow diners had beer in plastic cups. These issues may be due to the event so I can excuse them. I would give it another go! Oh! One last thing- interestingly, they have more drinks on the menu than food options.

We sat at the bar after the spring game. Kelsey was an awesome bartender!!! So friendly, very helpful, and totally approachable! She never let our drinks go empty!! We can here after finding it on Yelp and we were impressed. Wings were good (totally recommend Thai basil), we had the artichoke dip that was a large portion and delicious and the burgers were phenomenal! I enjoyed this place very much! Will definitely come back during the fall football season!! Thanks Kelsey for a fun evening. :-)

Wannabe fine dining establishment with far below average customer service. I'll admit the food is very decent (overpriced but decent), but the atmosphere of your employees creates a hostile environment. Im not sure who was working the bar, but he constantly disrespected patrons including myself and gave me a smart ass response when I told him the Long Island he made tasted like asshole (dunno how you manage to fuck up the most common mixed drink in America). Maybe I'll return when you stop hiring egotistical asshole college kids to run a "fine dining" restaurant. Food was amazing but lacks basic customer service morals. Hope to see the new owner turn this around and hire some experienced food service professionals

.@101Restaurant Service was both lacking and inattentive and the employees seemed full of themselves. Pricing for lunch was good but if I ordered the same food at dinner I'd be rather upset. Location is fine being next to the capital and the style, which I'm sure is great in the evening, doesn't lend itself to a casual lunch. Tip: Check in on Yelp for 20% off.

Not worth it. I'd write an actual review about how terrible the food and service was, but like I said, not worth it.

Their description of farm to table got us interested, but unfortunately the results were not quite as fresh as we imagined. I had the lemon basil chicken, which was two large chicken breast pieces with gravy. I'd been imagining thin chicken breast filets with a light sauce. My husband had the pork chop, which did not have the light sauce that was also expected on it. We kept our coats on the whole time, as it was cold, and the ambiance was far more bar than restaurant.

This place has really gone downhill. Ordered a dirty martini with cheese-stuffed olives, it arrived with regular olives. Complained to the waiter who said he'd look into it and never returned. Had hummus that had developed a "skin" and had obviously been sitting around for HOURS. Complained to the waiter who expressed sympathy and that's about it. The entire meal was just more of the same. Crappy food, high prices, terrible service. They never missed an opportunity to show they didn't care.

In Tallahassee with my wife for a business trip and this was one of the only places open on a Sunday night. Non-Food/drink review: Plenty of parking at the lot across the street, no wait for a table, big patio, very speedy wait staff and slightly above average prices. Food: Got the quesadilla and chicken fingers to share which we both very good but salads were OK and over saturated with dressing so get on the side if you're not used to big helpings. Drinks: specialize in cocktails and plenty of beers on tap. Prices reflect the selection! Overall, happy we ate there and would consider going back.

101 is a great after-work, happy hour joint. I've gone a few times with work friends who love to go celebrate there. Good wines and martinis, decent prices. It's always pretty busy and a nice atmosphere. I've never had a bad meal there and I've had salads, burgers, sandwiches. Sometimes it can get a little too busy and my most recent trip one of the members of our party was forgotten and it took a very long time to get her bill and there was no discount for her food taking so long that she ended up getting it to go because we were already finished. It's a nice location due to easy walkability from downtown but parking can definitely be a problem.

These guys are great. We just had a rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. We rented out of of their rooms and ordered a buffet. The staff was wonderful. Very responsive with our requests. The food was spot on. Kudos to Nikki and the team. My wife did all the planning with them by phone and online - site unseen. They were great to work with -

Great place to hit up for Happy Hour. Amazing HAPPY HOUR from 4pm-7pm. - All drinks 50% OFF - Bottles of wine 25% OFF Second HAPPY HOUR on Friday's from 10pm-12am. During the school semester this place is great to come for late night drinks, light snacks, and slide over to Mint or one of the other clubs downtown. It actually makes you feel like you are in a bigger city then lil ol Tallahassee. Just get seated near the big windows facing the Imax. Or on a nice night, decide to eat outdoors and watch the growing crowd of predrinking college students parade across. The menu is bar food, nothing really that great. But BAR FOOD menus it's a great coating for the drinks you take in. Great Long Islands! I would stay with wings or pizza (more then enough for 2 people to share). The fried food always feels like it sat in the oil a little too long. And I have found most of the dips to be completely without salt and again paired with deep fried chips. Don;t forget to bring $1 for parking in the plaza directly below.

Stopped in the other night about 9pm for a night cap. They have a great martini menu, wine list and beer menu. They have nice outdoor seating and a big bar. We did not eat . . . I had a dirty martinit with blue cheese stuffed olives and the olives were plump and over flowing with cheese. I will be back next time I have to travel to Tallahassee.

I came here with a few friends for my birthday dinner. It was a nice atmosphere and the waiter was very nice too. But the food was lackluster for the price. I probably won't be going back for food, I would probably just go back for happy hour.

The drinks were awesome, but the food was overpriced. I have food allergies and there were options listed on the menu, but if the menu says "Ask about Gluten Free options" and the option is to bring a burger out with no bun, it's not exactly worth the $. The chips that the burger was supposed to come with weren't gluten free, so I paid another $2 to add a salad. They brought the salad out with croutons (I explained I had an allergy) and they supposedly brought me a new one, but I think they just picked them off and sent it back out because my mouth swelled up and my lips went numb. HUGE mistake. I know some people are going gluten free as a fad, but when someone specifically says they have a food allergy and you pull a stunt like that it is dangerous. I would have never gone there but the menu said there were some options for me and I was eating out with friends. By the end of the night I paid $35 to have mediocre food and get incredibly sick. I doubt I will be going back.

Third times a... Never going to 101 again. Service is mediocre at best. My gin & tonic cost me $10 plus an addition $5 for the rocks.... In addition, they may have forgot to add the gin. Tallahassee does not warrant $15 gin & tonics. The food is lackluster and over-priced. The atmosphere they attempt to create feels like Greek Life got together and attempted to create a restaurant that they thought was classy and failed.

The worst brunch experience I've had in Tallahassee. A group of my friends and I decided to try brunch here one Sunday. There was 7 of us so we called ahead and when we arrived the restaurant wasn't busy. But when our server took our drink order he was obviously flustered by the size of our group, which is understandable. When we went to check in on yelp we noticed a 20% off deal and we made sure to tell our server about it before we ordered. I started with the flavored mimosa, which I think was mango. It was really yummy. Later I ordered a bloody mary and it was also spicy and delicious. End of good review. My friends got the special bacon bloody mary. It had a tiny bacon piece as a garnish as well as some special seasoning on the rim of the glass. Definitely not worth the extra money. Our drink service was really sporadic, but like I said before our server seemed overwhelmed. Our food came after about an hour and there were wrong orders all around. My breakfast burrito I ordered was missing half the ingredients listed on the menu. My friend's burrito was missing those same ingredients, so maybe they changed the dish and not the menu? Anyway the special sour cream that came on top of it had a hard film from obviously sitting out too long. The cheesy grits I ordered looked and tasted like they had been sitting underneath a heating lamp. My other friend didn't get the cheesy grits she ordered and after asking the server about them, he brought her out grits with cold shredded cheese thrown on top. My boyfriend's side dish came out wrong as well. It was a mess. When it was time for the check we reminded our server about the yelp check in deal and when he walked away from our table he let out a very audible "UGHH." It was definitely uncomfortable. When he came with our checks one of my friends noticed he had been overcharged. When my friend brought it up, the server took his check walked over to the hostess stand (where we were sitting next to) and started loudly cussing about our table. It was so unbelievably rude. I've never tried the lunch or dinner, but after that experience I never want to.

I really wanted to like this place. A group I am visiting with recommended it. Our artichoke dip had a cold center, my sesame ahi tuna wasn't seared, the potatoes it came with were clearly reheated. No martini glasses so our martinis were served in rocks glasses and we had to go next door to get olives. We had to resort to eating with our hands as after 10 minutes our server still hadn't come back to get us silverware. Can I do a credit card charge back for bad food?!
(1)

I just ordered take out this evening from 101 and it was terrible. I ordered the artichoke spinach dip and they didnt include the chips so I had nothing to eat it with. The caprese salad was $8 and only included 4 slices of mozzerela, a few tomato slices and a tiny pile of mixed greens, it was also warm for some reason like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The entrees were unedible and the side of mashed potatoes tasted really strange but I can't put my finger on why. A few hours later and my roommate and I are both not feeling well, if you know what I mean.

Good for outdoor drinks at night. Large drink list, impressive Happy Hour prices. Josh is a great server!
Based on the reviews, I would have never gone, but we went with a group and I didn't choose. Overall I thought everything was great. I got similar food to Shula's and it was almost as good for a lot less money. I got the filet minion and we got wings, some dip, seared tuna, and some other stuff. All of it was pretty good. The server was nice, and the bottled beer was cold. Overall, I couldn't complain about anything. It wasn't exceptional, but I'd go back if I was ever in town.

Came in late for a bite to eat. Menu was reasonably priced for the location and decor. Tried the mahi on special (they ran out of the tuna special) Will be heading back for that. Only down side was they cannot serve food after 9pm outside. Overall it was a happenin place nice clean and friendly staff.

So I wrote my first review to talk about my first experience at 101 which can be read on this page. After writing that review I was contacted by a representative of 101 who forwarded my review to Rico the manager, who emailed me. He said in the email hopefully there was something that could be done to replace the bad taste the first experience left. Well, after emailing him back what had happened that night and left it up to him what he wanted to do to make it up to us, I've received no response (going on a week now.) Like I said before customer service isn't a top priority of this restaurant. I usually give restaurants two chances but this one is stopping at one. I will never be returning to this restaurant. And 101 if you're reading this... don't bother contacting me again. You're on my S*** List and I'll gladly pick any other restaurant in this city to eat at. In addition to that, I'll make sure anyone I come in contact with who is considering going to you restaurant, knows of this experience. I'll refer them to another restaurant like Masa where they know how to treat their customers correctly.

The food was very average. The steak salad was salty and tough as nails. The best item was the steak Quesadilla which we had as an appetizer . I will try this place one more time to see if it gets any better. The service was marginal at best.

Went here with a friend for some drinks and ended up getting a couple food items too. Drinks we tried: Oatmeal cookie, appletini, Washington apple, red sangria, house riesling and house pinot grigio, cosmo, and strawberry mojito. I would rank them like this: 1. Strawberry mojito (really sweet but not overly sweet and not too strong) 2. house pinot grigio (not too sweet but very good) 3. oatmeal cookie (sweet, like an oatmeal cookie, with a slight vodka taste) 4. red sangria (not as sweet as the wine above, but good) 5. house riesling (a little more bitter than the pinot grigio but still good) 6. appletini (not very sweet, a little bit stronger than the above) 7 & 8. The cosmo and the Washington apple (strong, the Washington apple particularly was not my favorite and my first drink of the evening did not bode well, mostly tasted like whisky.) We shared the curly fries and a lava cake and both were good but especially the curly fries, with all those drinks. My total came to about $24 for four drinks and the fries with one of the drinks on happy hour special and I thought that was a great deal! Would definitely come back. The service was also very good. :)

Perhaps it's because I live in Boston, a hostile environment for that delightful block of time called Happy Hour, but how can you not be pleased with a place that has half priced drinks for a couple of hours every day? During the day, the place was quiet and the service was friendly and attentive. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. Small tasty dishes are affordable and varied. (Weighted down by a stomach brimming with fried [insert almost anything conceivable here], a few of the appetizers still overpowered my willpower based on smell alone.) If I were closer, I'd go back.

Went here on mothers day with my son on a trip to Tallahassee. The place was not busy, we were seated right away. The hostess and our server were awesome. Very friendly. I ordered a Caesar salad and the glazed pork chop. This thing was a masterpiece! Big, thick, bone in, perfectly grilled and juicy. Lovely Gorgonzola cheese and grilled apple slices on top. Yummy garlic smashed potatoes, tender crisp carrot and zucchini slaw. I'm still thinking about it and salivating over it!

We wil NEVER go back. first of all if there was a way to give negative stars I would. Went on a Friday night and seemed busy, lively kind of loud but that's ok. And then it begins we sat at our table for almost 10 mins before our waitress appeared...in the meantime we " missed" happy hour and she seemed very irritated when we asked if we could still get an order in.....it was 7:02! The food was mediocre at best the artichoke dip was runny and all you could taste was garlic. I got salmon....fishy....the rice tasted like it had sugar in it , YUCK! My hubby's tuna was decent, but far from good. The bathrooms were disgusting .....not a seat in the ladies room wasn't covered in urine. Wish I could have a do over and get my money back but you live and learn........hope this saves someone else from throwing their money away

First and last time I will ever visit 101, unless they come under new ownership or management. First, I have to give credit where credit is due. Props to the kitchen for pushing out a good late night menu in a timely manner. Also, for being as busy as they were, the bar staff was generally friendly and accommodating. They seemed a little overwhelmed, but still friendly. My girlfriend and I arrived around 11 to meet up with a large group of her friends celebrating a birthday. The hostess had told them they could sit outside due to the fact that there was not enough room inside. From the beginning they were told there was no server outside that late and they would have to order everything from the bar inside, which nobody had a problem with. So they sat themselves outside and moved tables together for the group. When my girlfriend and I arrived we ordered our food and drinks from the bar and were told we may have to come back inside to check on our food as there was no service for the outside tables. As people who have been working in the service industry for a lifetime and 6 years, respectively, my girlfriend and I were completely understanding of this. Actually, the bartender who took our order was nice enough to bring out our food and told us she could get in trouble for leaving the bar to do so, so we really did appreciate her hospitality. And then, the rain came. It began to rain on our party and so we began putting umbrellas up to protect all of our food and freshly straightened hair. Soon after that, Rico the manager came out to our table. To make sure we were all comfortable and satisfied with our food and drinks? No. Rico came out to scold us for moving the umbrellas. Several other employees came out to contribute their judgmental glances while Rico circled our table, all the while giving us mean stares and talking on his walkie-talkie. After a few minutes of Rico circling our table, presumably to ensure the safety of his umbrellas, he went back inside. I got up and walked over to a cook and a very inebriated off-duty employee who had been very obviously pointing and whispering about us throughout the course of Rico's umbrella inspections. I asked them what the problem was; and through the hiccups of the off-duty employee, I was able to interpret that he believed Rico was upset because he thought we had broken one of the spokes of one of the umbrellas which actually was already broken before we opened it. Although I'm not exactly sure why we were receiving all of the hateful glares, I know we all felt very unwelcome and closed out our tabs and left very shortly after that. I apologize for the extremely detailed account of these events, but I have never been treated with such little respect by the management of any establishment like I was this night. If they didn't want us sitting outside, they should have not let us sit outside. If they didn't want us using the umbrellas, they should have made that clear or- here's a novel idea: they could have been good hosts and set up the umbrellas for us. Sure, this is an isolated incident and not a guarantee that you will have a similar experience if you visit 101, but if you LOOK AT THE FILTERED REVIEWS, disrespectful and inhospitable managers and staff seems to be somewhat of a pattern at 101. Notice most of the reviews were filtered because the reviewer gave them 1 star and only have one review to their name (most likely because they were so shocked by their experience they created a yelp account just so they could warn other potential guests).

Food is just okay. Pretty young crowd.. Good for drinks through late night. Waitresses are pretty flirty and will try to squeeze extra tip if you're a guy. Overall, mid-level approval ratings for 101.

The bartenders hit on girls and send them shots. That's creepy and rude and I'm guessing the owner wouldn't like that.

It was wonderful when it first opened but now its settled down into a pretty formula restaurant bar. The location is great, the service is friendly, but the food is uninspired and tired.

If you're downtown, this is a good option. The outside seating is nice, and service just as good as inside. They have a good selection of burgers and small plates, but their entree selections are a bit weak. Pricing is reasonable, and they have decent prices for their bar drinks. Their other weak point is their beer list--don't expect anything more exotic than Sam Adams.

I've been here late at night a few times when it was a night club along with Mint Lounge and I will probably never come back for that again. However, as a restaurant for happy hour or getting together with friends for a few drinks and an appetizer it's great! Went on a Wednesday night around 8pm, got great service, yummy drinks, and good food! Try the lettuce wraps!

Convenient lunch location for downtown. I'm not sure I'd consider this place a tapas bar. The list looked more like traditional appetizers you'd find anywhere but just in smaller portions. I had the crab soup and burger. Soup was pretty good, needed a little more flavor. Burger was a nice portion. Service was average.

So 101 is supposed to be somewhat of a "luxury" establishment. After what I experienced last night, the word "luxury" shouldn't even be associated with 101. A complete disaster that is run by low rent managers who don't have a clue about the food and beverage industry. After waiting a good forty minutes for a table with a reservation, we then waited longer for service that was close to elementary. The fries were stale so they were sent back! My friends macaroni and chix was a portion size for children! Asked for a side of blue cheese dressing from the manager, he then brings it out in a plastic TO-GO container during dinner service. What kind of manager thinks that's even a possibility, especially at this so called "luxurious" establishment. This place needs some serious help by experienced people. Not the jokes they have working right now!

With all of the terrible reviews, I thought this place was going to be atrocious. I actually had a pretty decent experience. Our table started off with the hummus platter - very good hummus, which included original, tomato, and olive hummus. The hummus was served with plenty of pita chips as well. This was very good. I ordered the crabcake for my entree. While the crabcake was definitely not the best I've had, it was very good with a decent amount of crabmeat in it. It wasn't packed with sauce but I must say it felt just a little too fried. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We had no complaints.

The Mac and Cheese is as good as they say it is! However, service was very slow and main menu items were unavailable. Also, a lot of drinks weren't included in their well-advertised "happy hour."

Warning: what they list as a calamari two ways is actually not two ways - just plain old fried calamari. Their drinks are just ok - nothing that will have me coming back for more.

We were at "101" last night for our daughter and her boyfriend's graduation. We had a large table of eleven. Our server- Phillip - did an excellent job, getting the drinks out to us and taking our food order in light of all the "commotion". He managed the table beautifully! I especially liked it because the menu offered a lot of tapas/appetizers, salads, wraps, light fare. Since we were eating late, it was perfect for the occasion. The drinks kept coming as we ordered them; so an "A" for service. My reason for not giving it 5 stars, is my grouper sandwich was "weak". Big bun with tiny piece of fishy fish. The Mac 'n Cheese was excellent, as was the pizza. Just stay away from that fish sandwich! Thanks "101" & Phillip for making a very special evening a memorable one! One more note, the hostesses did an excellent job holding a gift & cake for us in advance and getting it out to us.

It is clear that this restaurant has other priorities than customer service. While I love their food and happy hour specials, the staff are usually rude and poorly trained. I have been told by a waitress that she could not split our bill although my friends and I come here at least once a week and have always had the tab split among us. There is one blonde hostess who has always been extremely rude and unhelpful, even with the simplest requests. It is also sometimes very difficult to get your server's attention once it gets busy in the restaurant. Even on slow nights I have had to get up and go to the bar to get another drink because I was tired of waiting for our server to return to our table. On a good note, it is great that they have two happy hours every night (4pm-7pm and 10:30pm-12:30pm). Their menu has many amazing appetizers although I have never been particularly excited about the entrees I have tried. Specifically, the buffalo chicken pizza, artichoke and spinach dip, and the macaroni and cheese are absolutely delicious. This place could be great if they could just improve on their customer service. It's a good place to hang out for dinner and a few drinks though, if you can put up with that.

Always have a decent time here when I come for happy hour with friends, but it's noisy and a little impersonal. It sort of has the feel of a chain, although I don't think it is. The menu isn't that interesting, but the food has been good enough I guess, because I don't remember it being bad. I think it's just a little innocuous and they could spruce it up with a little creativity. The same goes for their cocktail menu. They have all the basics, but I prefer a little added something. When you try to personalize your drinks a little, it gets pricey quickly - an extra 2 or 3 bucks for upgrading to blue cheese olives in my martini, for example. I think maybe it's great as a sophisticated college bar or an apres-work watering hole for the lobbyists who work in the adjacent buildings, and it's a good location, but it's not really a place I go out of my way for.

I've been here multiple times and although the food is good, management was so rude that I will NEVER return. Today will be my last time ever visiting this sad excuse of a restaurant. I ordered a California burger which usually comes with avocados and pepper jack cheese when my burger got to the table it didn't have avocados and they felt the need to switch the pepper jack for blue cheese. I had no problem with the switch but I called the manager to let him know that if they don't have the ingredients to make what's on the menu they should've let me know before hand. The first manager I spoke to said he couldn't help me because he was off shift and had a few beers so he'd call someone else for me (he was talking to a waiter rudely about something he had done wrong but rather than pull him aside he did it in the table directly behind mine) When the other gentleman arrived I politely explained to him the situation and that for next time to please let their patrons know but I was fine with what they had served me. He was so passive aggressive and sarcastic, all he said was "ya that's fine I'll go back to the kitchen now and tell them they suck and they don't know how to run a restaurant." I have NEVER in my life been more caught off guard by anyone. He was so disrespectful and immature, I guess that's what happens when a restaurant is run by 20 year olds. All I was doing was giving some constructive criticism, there was no need for him to be so sarcastic. When my waitress asked what happened and I explained it to her, her jaw dropped in shock of how rude he had been. I will never return to 101 after this awful experience.

(4)Jon K.
(4)Alana T.
Not a big fan - pricy apps and entrees for what i consider chain-style quality. Drinks are decent price during happy hours but outrageous at full price. Hoping their new location takes on a more local-sourced food approach.
(3)Tracy P.
(3)Richard A.
I really enjoy 101 restaurant. I always get the pork chop and it's great every time. They also have great drink specials and great house cocktails. If your in Tallahassee I highly recommend it. Richard was a great bartender who took care of us.
(5)Perri O.
Great food! Everyone at my graduation lunch loved their meal. Service was excellent. They even have a coupon for yelp users for 20% off your meal! They also have a double happy hour with all their drinks half off during the week!
(5)Kelly B.
the beer battered calamari was divine with the balsamic dipping sauce. The salmon Florentine was incredibly delicious. The pecan crusted edges kept the salmon so tender. The mash potatoes were out of this world!! The creamy cheese sauce was not heavy....very light. You will be full with the large portion of salmon.
(5)Ashlee B.
(1)Patricia Y.
(1)Susan H.
(3)Andrea T.
(5)Mike J.
(3)Michael C.
.@101Restaurant Service was both lacking and inattentive and the employees seemed full of themselves. Pricing for lunch was good but if I ordered the same food at dinner I'd be rather upset. Location is fine being next to the capital and the style, which I'm sure is great in the evening, doesn't lend itself to a casual lunch. Tip: Check in on Yelp for 20% off.
(2)Bethel Z.
Not worth it. I'd write an actual review about how terrible the food and service was, but like I said, not worth it.
(1)Mindy K.
(3)Art s.
(1)Sara L.
Great food, spectacular cocktail list, and awesome atmosphere. Fey was a great waitress that catered to our every need, kept the drinks coming! Definitely recommend!
(5)Andy M.
Just okay. I won't be going back. Service was good, but the food just average and overpriced for what you are getting.
(2)M.J. J.
(3)Jessica L.
(3)steve s.

(4)Ali C.
(4)Lauren L.
I came here with a few friends for my birthday dinner. It was a nice atmosphere and the waiter was very nice too. But the food was lackluster for the price. I probably won't be going back for food, I would probably just go back for happy hour.
(3)Annalisa C.
(1)Shawn J.

(1)Elyse F.

We ordered for delivery. I ordered a side of the coconut rice. I was shocked to find that they literally gave me a cup size amount (I measured myself). $4 for a cup of rice is completely outrageous. On top of that, my fiancé ordered the steak sandwich. There was hardly any meat in the sandwich, which was $14. We will never eat there or order food from 101 again. Very disappointing, because we used to like it there. Would not recommend to anyone.

The food was tasty and well prepared, but I can get a meal just as good at Kool Beanz for less and I can hear the conversation I'm having with my friends.

So Sad. Used to be good. Mussels are supposed to be served before rotting,

Food was good, but it took over 3 hours. Come ready for a good meal and to stay awhile.

101 has cut their portion by 1/2...deff not worth the money. I loved going here, but there is no way in hell I am going back to spend $25 and still be hungry at the end of my meal.

(3)David S.
