Hello fellow readers: Pescecane was pretty much what I expected. The 2 entrees, wine and dessert was around 100. Fortunately, they are on restaurant.com so it ended up being around 70. First thing happened after we arrived at 8 was some complimentary mushrooms and small tomatoes. I am going to say my linguine was slightly salty and the portions were rather small. It is decent but nothing that I can't make myself. The ambiance is nice for dates, which happened to be why I was here. I think for the same price, you can find others equal. Not bad but not mindblown like other yelpers say, either.

After returning to Pescecane I have decided that this is my #1 favorite restaurant in all of Miami right now. This time we had the black ink fettuccine with mussels, clams and shrimp in a pink sauce... delish! My husband ordered the Ossobucco which was accompanied by an amazing risotto. Both of us were dreaming about our dinner long after finishing it. Once again, we will be back!

When trying to decide what restaurant to go in the Surfside/Bal Harbor area, look no further. Pescecane is the place to go!!! From the moment you open the door to the last bite, you're immediately transported to Italy. The ambiance, sexyness, and magnificent menu of this restaurant definitely brings to Miami something that has been missing for a long time. I first went to Pescecane about 5 years ago and have been a consistent customer ever since. Even though, the place was packed the first time we went, we we're treated as if we were the only table in the restaurant. Every plate was better than the one before and the personalized service couldn't have been better! This place is definitely a no-brainer! I cant wait to go back!! :) Ps. I went about 3 weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to see how affordable the prices have become!! Top quality and affordable prices?...It cant get any better than that!

It was my birthday, they really treated me like a princess - but I have a feeling everyone gets same treatment. The service was perfection, attentive but not obnoxious. The food, oh my. Simply delicious. It started with freshly made bread, olive & cheese display to homemade stuffed pasta, veal chop, risotto & finally the poached pear for dessert to finish. It was worth every penny.

So I was looking for a decent place to try out using restaurant.com and this place was new on that site, so I figured hey why not check it out? Looked at Yelp and sure enough there were some good reviews although it looked like there weren't many recent reviews and they had recently changed owners. While I was hesitant I decided to try it out. And I was very glad I did. Located in Surfside just south of 96th street on the east side of Collins (Harding as well, same street at this point), this place finds itself surrounded by some local shops and restaurants. My wife and I went at 7:30pm on a Friday and street parking was plentiful. There were exactly zero customers there when we arrived. I believe one or two other groups came in while we were there but it was sparse. Not a good sign, we thought. The inside was darker and had a more intimate/formal feel. All of the waiters were dressed up in suits or equally formal. We were business casual and felt decently dressed. My wife was cold so we sat outside, though the restaurant offered to turn down the air conditioning (nice). We decided outside was fine. No less than three people immediately came out to give us the place setting, ask us what we wanted to drink, gave us a wine list, and without asking provided a sort of antipasti plate with bruschetta, this fried zucchini (eggplant?) salad, olives, cheese, olive oil and freshly baked bread (cibatta perhaps?). Wow. And it was good too. I was digging this place. The wine list did not contain by the glass prices, but they said they did offer wine by the glass so we ordered one each. Or you could have the $1295 bottle at the back of the wine menu. Hilarious. Maybe for the next special occasion...anyways, the wine was good and so we got to ordering food. First, they recommended the caesar salad so we got that. I had heard from other reviews that the truffle cream ravioli was good so my wife had that and I ordered a seafood linguine with white wine sauce, shrimp/calamari/mussels/scallops. Not too long afterwards, the salad arrived. It was okay. On the creamy side for dressing, but seemed homemade. Not quite enough bite for me. There was an anchovy in there for added touch. One guy came out with cheese to grate on it, one guy came out with pepper. Another guy wanted to check up on us. In other words, the service was great. I don't think I had an empty glass of water the whole night. Then...the real food came out... Holy crap, the ravioli was good. Super good. Order this if you come here. Best pasta dish I have had since I moved to Miami. It has a very slightly sweet cream flavor (champagne) with a terrific savory balance of the porcini mushrooms. You know what else was a nice touch? One of the waiters came out and literally grated a black truffle onto the top of the dish. Wow. I mean my seafood dish was pretty good, I liked the fresh seafood and white wine sauce, the linguine was perfectly al dente...but it was nothing compared to those ravioli. I was jealous. Then we finished with a coffee and some 'chocolate souffle' which is actually just warm chocolate cake with sort of an oozing chocolate center. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but it wasn't a souffle...just by definition. I liked it all the same but would probably order something else next time. They should just call this warm chocolate cake. The bill was what you might expect of a fancier place after you have had wine, salad, entree and a dessert. Probably $50-60 plus per person. But given the level of service and the quality of the food, I would definitely pay that. This was maybe 4.5 stars but I rounded down because of the average salad and dessert. I would definitely recommend going here though. Great service, good value with the free antipasti, good wine, fantastic entrees (so far), and really not exorbitant prices for the quality. Why don't more people go here? I guess there is not a 'scene' right around there...but it really was excellent and worth a visit.

This place is a hidden gem of Miami. Just a few steps away from Bal Harbour Mall. Service is very friendly and efficient. Porcini mashroom raviolli in a creamy truffle sauce were outstanding. Veal osobucco with saffron risotto was the best I ever had. This place is now on my list of Must Visit while in Miami area.

So, the food and wine were delicious. Everything on the table was amazing except the white chocolate panna cotta which tasted like a melted bar of white chocolate and left us wishing we had ordered the cheesecake which they happily brought us once we told them we did not like it. The complimentary parmesan tidbits, the caramelized eggplant, and olives with warm soft foccacia were a very nice way to start our meal. We ordered the phenomenal porcini ravioli, the chicken marsala which was tender, juicy, and had an amazing sauce with succulent mushrooms but red pepper which threw me off a bit, the parpadelle bolgnese (very good), and the linguini vongole with a very generous portions of clams. I loved pescecane and can't wait unitl I have the pleasure of going back to this quiet and pretty old school dining room.

This is a wonderful little gem. I had a salmon carpaccio and Bronzino that were as good as I ever ever had these two dishes. My wife loves the pungent Pasta Puttanesca. The service is attentive but not intrusive. This is a comfortable restaurant where people can hear each other. We will come here again and gain.

We have eaten at Pescecane several times. The ambience needs work. Very low lite, dark green walls might be romantic but the music was too loud and counter to the ambience of the room setting. My partner had the Dover sole which was excellent with a side of saute broccoli and garlic. My lamb chops were cooked as requested. Home made bread and complimentary antipasto of mix olives, cheese and Brushetta started the meal perfectly. We had a fair pour of a glass of the good selection for the house pinot noir . The most grating part of the experience beside the music was the wait staff. The restaurant was not busy and yet we had to ask to be given the menus. Surfside residents have a gem of a restaurant which needs to work of the ambience and present a venue were it is inviting and makes you want to come back as a place where as a patron you know you will have a pleasant dining experience.

Woohoo, first to review, can't believe they have not been reviewed yet. Have you ever found a hidden treasure? Here is my find....It is in Surfside right before Bal Harbor. Sorry so long, had a passionate dining experience here........:) On a friends reccomendation my husband and I came here. Of course we drove past it twice. Blink your eye and you miss it. Very small store front. Parking can be a little hard to find but if your lucky there is street parking. On weekends they do have valet. We came during the week because we heard it get's very crowded, long waits on weekends....make reservations. Upon walking in very small, beautifully decorated, dim lights, smells of fantastic food. The owner greets you in his tuxedo attire as well as all of the waiters. There are maybe ten to twelve tables. Of course the waiters are pushing in your chairs, layering the napkin over your lap and within 30 seconds you have water and food on your plate. They bring you out frsehly prepared bruschetta, tomatoes diced with wonderful basil and garlic, and fresh bread and oil, and of course parmesan cheese (a large freshly cut chunk.....yahoo... Then they bring you grilled cold eggplant that is spicy and oh so good. After all that you order your entree, very nice touch if your hungry...why order an appetizer? They tell you of the specials which include fresh fish dishes, osso bucco and several pasta delights. The menu is very intense meaning dishes prepared like I have never had. Tito, the owner is very hands on, being from Italy and bringing many of his recipes. He is very passionate, and you can tell by the way he watches everyone and nothing gets past him. I choose to order a pasta dish with penne, proscuitto, fra diavlo, and peas. Husband had the osso bucco, which he loved. The coolest thing is when they bring out your entree, they finish cooking it in the dining room in front of you. Tito, stood there and cooked my dish to perfection. They will take out or add anything you want. Wine list- very nice, good choices from different regions and some really nice super tuscans. Dessert- oh gee, can't think of what it was called, but would go back just for it. It was a freshly homemade creamy elegant custard and the waiter prepares it at your tableside, cutting fresh fruit and decorating the plate. What a sight to see, it takes him like five minutes and oh my,....can I say mouth was watering for days after I ate it. Then they bring you a complimentary homemade by Tito some kind of brandy with raisins in it. Good finish to a great evening.... Prices are some what high, but worth every penny. They truely cater to your every need. Can't wait, to my next visit.... Perfect for a romantic interlude, a date night or special occasion. Buon appetite!! Such a unique, wonderful dining experience. Tito talks to every customer and enjoyed speaking with my husband in Italian about Italy.

Overpriced and not authentic Italian. Too many ingredients on the plate will spoil authenticity. My lobster linguini was supposed to be spicy but it tasted like the hottest Mexican pepper there is. Too much sauce made the $35 meal less elegant. Pasta barely al dente. Burrata dish was good and sea salt branzino was well prepared. Not impressed and very expensive.

I can't stop thinking about the pasta dishes I had here recently. Pasta Bolognese, and pasta with sausage. Wow. It has been 2 weeks since I was there, but the exquisite taste still provokes my memories. I recommend this place 100%. Fantastico. I went to High School in Italy, and go there frequently and love real Italian food. Pescecane is the best! Rick

We came here last year while visiting Miami and all year long my boyfriend fondly recalled their mushroom ravioli. Went back last night and they did not disappoint! Everything we had was absolutely delicious, the service was fantastic and the wine was terrific. Definitely the best meal of our 5 trips to Miami, maybe even ever!

The food is neither good nor authentic. It is too reach and the flavor is completely off. Italian cooking is about simplicity, balance, contrast and depth. Food at Pescecane was bland, overly reach and boring. The taste was not worth the calorie intake. Our black ink fettuccine was floating in a pink sauce full of sour cream and the pappardelle dish missed seasoning. Ingredients are of good quality which is essential but the preparation completely spoiled them. Desserts were very below average. Espresso was bad. Service was good and attentive. Very bad value despite the restaurant.com coupon that prompted our visit. We would not go back even if food was free.
In one word Impeccable! I have traveled quite a bit and sampled many restaurants, when I came across this one of a kind gem. Honestly everything about it was amazing; the food, the wine, and the service! I can't wait to go back. Jorge, who was our server was nothing less than perfect. Look closely when driving down Harding Ave so you don't miss this wonderfully intimate and amazing place. I would come back to Miami just to enjoy Pescecane again.

I came in for lunch. I was surprise to see and executive lunch for only $14.99 that included appetizer and main course. I had the ceviche and the lemon chicken with pasta. Very nice. Can not go wrong here. Small and Cozy with a sort of mom and pop place. I would recommend this place to friends.

No hesitation for 5 stars! Went there on a Sunday evening with another couple and everything was fantastic!! Great food, excellent service, and turns out they participate in Primecard as an added plus. The beet salad was excellent, and seafood ravioli was delicious. We will be back there again soon. Atmosphere was excellent (bathrooms spotless). A fantastic destination in the tiny town of Surfside that has an abundance of choices of restaurants.

My wife and I arrived early Sunday evening, July 26. We took a shot at this restaurant based on the reviews from Yelp. We were holding our breath as the night before we ate at FIFIs which was a huge bomb!!! The bar decor is nicely done. Definitely an Italian feel about the restaurant including the large block of parmesan cheese. We started with an appetizer of baked scallops with parm and butter on half shell. Wow! Absolutely delicious! Wanted to get more! We both got the special, black ink linguine with scallops, mussels and shrimp. The sauce was tomato, with cream base. I wasn't sure about the squid ink. Never had before. The waiter assured me the flavor is not impactful. He was spot on. The portion was perfect size. The flavor was amazing. We didn't speak more than two words to each other only to exclaim how much we loved the meal. To top off the meal we had a piece of homemade tiramisu. As if our evening could not have been any better. The desert was great. This was an excellent experience! We were expecting something to fall short but only got better as time went on. We cannot recommend this restaurant high enough. Superb!!!

I'm from Italy and I was happily surprised by this place. As many other Italian restaurant in America they tent to overdue with sauces and cheese, but if you make the right choices it will not disappoint you. I had the salmon carpaccio and shared a whole Branzino in salt crust, very tasty! Also the veggi sides are good (although very modest portions). My friend ordered the Linguine alle vongole that also were excellent. The bread was not very good and I would not recommend the baked potatoes. The Pino Grigio was excellent. We ended the meal with lemon sorbet (pre-packaged) and the house chocolate heart cake... They were ok.

Very disappointing experience; Maybe was an off night. Went here on a weeknight based in the other yelp reviews. Was us and two other tables. Service was poor. They were friendly but disorganized. Didn't get free apps like the other two tables. Didn't realize till it was too late. Things took forever to come out of the kitchen and everything except the fish special was just mediocre. Had ceviche which was meh, beet salad of dry, lamb chops didn't feel like good enough cut of meat for $44 and where not finished well. The fish special dover sole was delicious, but market price of $65 for a tiny piece of fish no side wasn't quite worth it. And they forgot to bring the sides we ordered. Overall, you can get a much better meal in Miami than this place.

This place is absolutely delicious. The cons are that it is extremely slow and very expensive ... though the food is so delicious it is forgivable. Everything tastes fresh and deep with flavor. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Each item, from the appetizers to the salads to the main dishes, was incredible. I would recommend this if you're looking for great pasta/seafood. I got the Spinach Ravioli in pink sauce and it was divine. We also got the mahi and the special of the night which was a black fettucini with squid, clams, and shrimp. It was all just so incredible. Though it was $200 for the three meals, wine, and salads. Super pricey, though worth it if you're looking to spend lots of money.

My family LOVES this place. First, they put up with us... And there are a lot of us and usually there are a lot of babies too. Our favorites are the branzino and the ravioli. You HAVE to get the special fruit dessert. I didn't think I could ever enjoy any dessert that didn't have chocolate in it... But this is one of the top 3 desserts I have ever had. The service is always perfect and they pay such individual attention to each person that we always love coming back.

This is an amazing restaurant which far surpasses Il Gabbiano, Michaels Genuine, the Forge and some of the other restaurants incorrectly lauded as the best in Miami. Make sure you have nowhere to be. No complaints because we wanted a long night of chatting, but it did take over an hour before getting our first course (salad). Mom got truffle ravioli. Best I've ever tasted in my life! I got the Fiochetti stuffed with pear and Gorgonzola. Holy crap. Really the two best pasta dishes I've ever tried in my life. Worth the wait! Great classy atmosphere away from tourist traps. Perfect for locals or people who just want to blend in. Would give this five stars but it did seem like they kinda forgot about us! Other parties that came in after us were already getting their checks before our first course came out. May be a fluke and would definitely go back and give it another chance!!!

There were some great qualities about this little restaurant, and some minor improvements that can be made, but overall, I liked the place and would come back. What I enjoyed- 1. the olive oil that came withthe delicious bread had a nice bitter taste and was definitely extra virgin. 2. the nicely roasted vegetables and dry pungent cheese that was brought to us as we sat down. 3. the frequently touted mushroom ravioli with light cream and truffle. Loved this as a small appetizer portion, to leave room to try more food. 4. the 'no knife needed' osso buco that they did 'light' for me (no salt added), with saffron risotto. 5. the complimentary homemade limoncello we enjoyed at the end of the night. Slight improvements needed for an authentic Italian place- 1. we wanted an order of the clams in white wine sauce as an appetizer, just like the clams with linguine but without the pasta. This was confusing to the waiter, and it came out with caramelized onions and not at all what we expected. 2. our waiter took away our olive oil but kept bringing out bread. We asked him to just leave us some oil, and he did. 3. we didn't get a mini fork to scoop out the bone marrow in the osso buco. We asked for it so we could enjoy the best part of this delicate comfort dish.

We've arrived a little before 05:00 pm on Wednesday, the place was empty. After waiting for a while, we finally got our dinner! Amazing pasta, and steak! Great food.

Great arugula salad, tossed to perfection with fresh oil and with tomatoes and fresh parmesan. The best risotto with mushrooms, rich and with a hint of cheese. Yum. Great service too.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Different Owners, not the same quality but still very good for Miami standards.

This intimate Italian restaurant is a treasure amongst the two block stretch of many dining options. The gracious service and amazing food make it a fantastic place for an evening of fine dining. To start they bring out imported olives, fresh parmagiano reggiano cheese chunks, spicy sautéed zucchini and fresh crusty Italian bread. They then describe all of their delicious specials (there are so many I am often amazed at how they can remember them all off the top of their head:). Many of the dishes are prepared on a flamed pan near your table in the dining room~nice touch. My personal favorite is the porcini pappardelle, I love how they offer pasta dishes in appetizer portions as well as dinner sizes. They make the best Dover Sole filleted tableside prepared with a delicious lemon sauce. The have a great desert berries in a shortbread zabayon (spelling?) custard, the presentation is beautiful. I feel fortunate to be able to walk to this neighborhood gem, as I often need a good walk after the yummy meal :)

Wonderful food and service. Everything tasted delicious on several visits. Love the homemade pasta,p (especially the squid ink special with seafood), desserts (hot chocolate cake) and fish. Servers are very attentive. A favorite restaurant in the area.

Pesecane is elegant, delicious, with wonderful service and marvelous food! One of the best! Thank you for redeeming the Miami culinary scene!

From the wine to the dessert everything was great. The service was impeccable. The ravioli with champagne sauce was delicious. The only thing less than positive i can say is this place is not really "authentic", but it was a pleasure to be there and enjoy their amazing food and service. The berries dessert was fantastic.

Let me start by the service, service was excellent, 2 out of the three meals were delicious we had the snapper very fresh really good and the mussels marinara also very good one order the veal piccata was dry very dry that's probably was over cooked or idk hard to swallow , and the coffee maker needs a filter installed on it taste like bacteria, but they quickly made me a new one with bottled water, i'd be willing to try this place again, the place is empty we were the only people in the restaurant

Classy Italian place. Excellent food, great wine selection. The waiters are attentive but quite slow.

Great food. You can smell the herbs and everything looked great. Perhaps the only issue, the service wasn't that attentive as expected but great ambiance of old Italian style place.
(4)Felecia V.
Amazing!!!! I was there the first day it opened and it was bought by the chef who worked for the original owner. What more can I say... This is real service... You are treated like royalty and the food is first Class cuisine!!!

It is the second time I have dinner at this place and I think the more close to Italy have excellent pasta and fish the BRANZINO is amazing and service was good very nice all.

Terrible service. Our salads took over 45 mins & our dinner came over a half hour after that. A big mistake ordering desert since that took forever too. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you have all night.

The owner is incredibly kind and genuine! You can tell he loves what he does. I had the pesto fetucini with a caprese salad with beets and it was divine! I will definitely be ordering from them again!
(5)Vlad F.

(5)David V.

Different Owners, not the same quality but still very good for Miami standards.

(4)Michael F.

(5)Sergio G.

Superb!!!
(5)Erica S.
(4)R G.
Great arugula salad, tossed to perfection with fresh oil and with tomatoes and fresh parmesan. The best risotto with mushrooms, rich and with a hint of cheese. Yum. Great service too.
(5)Clive P.

One of the best kept secrets in Miami. Superb food! Try the Dover sole and the mushroom raviolis.
(5)Rachel F.
(5)Tito C.

(5)Jen D.
