This place is absolutely perfect for the wealthy local women who never learned to cook. It my opinion, it's highly over-rated. The prices are high and the food is only okay. The only thing special about Raggazzi, is that it's got a decently fun vibe. On a typical night, it is packed full, with people who can't cook and most likely have never actually eaten great Italian food.

THE SERVICE THE SERVICE THE SERVICE, even on the busiest of nights they are so accommodating and it's as if they've been waiting for you to arrive for months. My girlfriend and I went Christmas night and we had amazing meals, I had the stuffed veal chop and my girlfriend had a wonderful pappardelle pasta dish. I highly recommend, the food is very good, but if it's known for anything it should be the servers.

Delicious Italian food! Perfect for any occasion. Lunch time happens to be very pleasant and quiet. Wine recommendation was excellent! Definitely recommending this place to my family, friends and colleagues!!! Thank you!

Amazing! Had reservations. Arrived on time and got seated right away. Our table was right by the glass wall. Looked over the wine menu which is ok but not too extensive. Chose a Ferrari Carano merlot which was really very nice. Received our dinner menus and some warm bread and butter. Shared a salad which was ok, kind if basic but good. Our table ordered the lasagna, a risotto pescatore , the crab ravioli special and the gnocchis. They were all spectacular especially the gnocchis which were extremely tender! Mmmmm portions were perfect as well. Desserts were the chocolate mousse, tiramisu and an apple tart. They were all ok with the mousse being the best one I thought. See all the photos I added. Cortaditos with our desserts were Lavazza and very good. Did not give it 5 stars because it is a little cramped in there, wine menu too small and desserts too basic. With that said, this is not my first or last time here because the entrees are so worth it! This was my 4th visit.

I've been to Cafe Ragazzi a few times for lunch. It's an attractive little restaurant with good food and good service. I enjoyed their lunch.

It was a good surprise. We went for a lunch at the Bal Harbour Shops but it was so crowded that we decided to check around, in Surfside. We used the Yelp's iPhone app and discover this cozy cafe, in the next corner. The food was delicious, from the appetizers to dessert. The service was also great, with the argentinian German being very prompt and warm.

I tried the risotto and, excuse my language, it looked like a vomit, completely over cooked, thick like a glue, ugly. I couldn't eat it of course. I would only go back if I am in the mood for pizza

I went yesterday with two coworkers to celebrate a birthday and we requested the menu of the day. To our surprise they mentioned that they no longer have it. Then we requested A pesto pasta and the waiter told us that they no longer had it. When discussing the regular menu with the waiter we asked what was the reason of the change and with great attitude he said "because the owner decided and thats it, he it the boss" . This caught us all off guard and from that moment on it was quite difficult to enjoy everything else at the restaurant. The waiter made us feel unwelcome and very uncomfortable. I am giving this restaurant a two because the food was good. However this waiter is a terrible representation of what this restaurant stands for. Hoping that the management make the appropriate changes to make sure that whomever is representing their name and their service is up to the standard of the restaurant

We have been to this one many many times... And hopefully we will return for many more. Our first time was when this restaurant was no bigger than 5-6 tables. Now, this restaurant is all grown up and ALWAYS delivers. This restaurant has that cozy look. It's elegant, white table cloths and, although tables are kinda close together, it just feels right. Small bar as well but we've never had to wait for our table. As for parking, I believe they have valet but I always park on the street. Plenty of meter parking. We always bring our wine as well. For a corkage fee of $20 you can't go wrong. As for dinner, we've now had pretty much the entire menu. We've had the lasagna, the risotto, the crab ravioli, the gnocchis, the... you get the point. They were and continue to be very good options. This place has never had an off night!!! As for dessert, the chocolate mousse comes to mind. I also like the apple tart. This is one long menu... plenty of options!!!

If you're a Surfside native I don't know how you can't love Cafe Ragazzi. My family and I have been dining here for several years and while the menu has changed a bit, the food has remained outstanding. Cafe Ragazzi is within walking distance from my Uncle's condo, and he has gotten me addicted! They offer nice selections of pasta, veal, and chicken - as well as take out. The only downside is that they do not take reservations, but the owners are so accommodating (last year they literally rearranged everything to make room for us on an extremely crowded Saturday night as my Uncle is a regular) - which is such a plus. I look forward to coming back to Cafe Ragazzi each time my family visits Miami Beach!

Excellent Italian food, generous portion size. Prices on high side, but hey don't forget you are in Bal Harbour so actually I would say they ate priced in line with any other good restaurant in this area. Chicken parm, meatballs, caprese, funghi et sausage pizza...delicious lunch, served at a leisurely pace.

The restaurant was packed saturday night but they still quickly find us a table for two. They promptly took our drink orders and brought us bread with bruschetta. We started with the caesar salad which was delicious. Home made dressing with anchovies I really liked it. The salad had the right about of dressing and small sized croutons which I prefer). For dinner we shared the chicken marsala with steamed spinach and the diavola pizza. The plate had two thin chicken breasts smothered in marsala sauce. The sauce was light with mushrooms and onions. It was very good and a big. The pizza was huge. Enough to share for two as a meal. Thin crust, lots of cheese and spicy salami. Total success we took the left over home! No dessert because we decided to get it somewhere else but their chocolate mousse looked delicious. Prices seems reasonable on "regular" dishes but maybe a bit expensive on the specials and other meats (osso bucco $43, veal dishes $35 and filet mignon $45). Service was very fast. The food was good. I will go back :)

Their pizza made me happier than a puppy in a bag of Puppy Chow. We tried a Fugazzeta and a Margherita pie. Both were fabulous. The Caesar salad was average. The interior is a bit cramped, but encouraged us to chat with the people sitting next to us. The servers are friendly. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

We have come here several times in the few weeks since we moved here. The staff are all wonderful and provide great service. Every meal we've had here with our two kids has been delicious... I especially love the bolognese! Their salmon dish is also delicious... We also love our wine and they have a pretty good list by the bottle. It's our go-to restaurant.

I passed by this restaurant taking a walk down the street, and the menu looked interesting, I read some reviews on yelp and it's not easy to find restaurants around the area with more than 4 stars so we gave it a try. The place was nearly empty it might have been that they were getting ready To switch shifts to start dinner, but we were seated anyways, and given some bread rolls with delicious tomatoes. We stared with a tricolore salad and it was great, I recommend asking for little dressing because it's a bit stronger than at most restaurants. The main courses were great, again too much sauce on the pollo al limone, the spaghetti side was cooked al dente and so was the gnocchi. Now for the best part, the pears poached in Barolo wine with ice cream, it was a great way to finish off a meal, the waiter was friendly and attentive but a bit slow which is why I took away a star, at one point the staff all disappeared and were hanging out by the bar. Maybe during busier hours they're more attentive, but I'll be back to try again

3 stars from me...... Was there last night and have been going there for the past 10 years. Progressively getting worse. The good is GOOD! Although our stomachs are rumbling with gas all night. The specials are staples: stuffed veal chop,Crab ravioli .The prices are way out of line! 18.00 for a meatball app.! 3 people,2 drinks , no dessert & &260.00 plus $40.00 top! I give 3 stars to be generous. We had the Salmon Carpaccio for starter, it was NOT fresh, simple and on top of that, its gotta be the thinest carpaccio i've seen. Having been to this restaurant 9 years ago on my honeymoon and declaring this the best Italian food I've ever experienced, I was elated that I once again found myself at Cafe Ragazzi. I'm sorry to say that the wait was a better experience than the food this time around. My wife and I ordered the exact same thing as we had on our honeymoon along with a few apps to try something new. Lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs for main entrees to be exact, which I consider to be staples of any Italian establishment. To describe the food that we received I would be lying if I didn't suspect it was microwaved as my wife's lasagna came out lava hot on the edges and stone cold in the middle. The taste was also lacking in the lasagna which was left unfinished. On to the meatballs which should be packed full of awesomeness but what I received resembled dry tumbleweed with some decent spaghetti and red sauce. To end on a positive note, the wait staff was excellent and attentive to any needs other than the quality of our meals.

This is one of the noisiest restaurants that I have ever gone to. I couldn't hear the person sitting next to me let alone my wife who was sitting opposite me. As far as the food goes it is a little pricey for standard italien dishes. I had spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were tasteless. I didnt finish the meal it was so boring in taste.

My family and I have been coming here for many years and it's always been a favorite. We're very sad to see in the last 6 months they've gotten rid of our favorites things on the menu - the cheese cannelloni and the delicious complimentary tomato bruschetta. Overall, quality seems to have declined in the last few years, as well. I hope it improves because we love coming!

Sad to watch the deterioration of food and service. Lived in area for 15 years. Last 9 mos, portions changed, quality of food changed (examples: Ordered Pesto Pasta, used to be first rate, was terrible, half portion of pasta. Called to complain, reply'our rendition' asked where was pesto? Replied, our version. So a few pine nuts, wilded basil over cold pasta is pesto pasta?) their wonderful Brucheta is no longer. Only give you some small, over cooked bread. My opinion, if your going to go for Italian, I would pass. Expensive, poor value for the money. Other places nearby that are great. Darn shame but we have decided to not patronize this place ever again. We called to complain, whoever answered the phone said, ourversion and sorry... Was use less.

Loved it!! Service & ambience was good...food was amazing. We had spaghetti Bolognese, spaghetti & meatballs , lasagna, & I had the grouper special. All four dishes were great. We also ordered a bottle of wine and 2 desserts. Total bill was about 185 before tip for 4 people. Totally worth it! So glad we went back, hadn't been in years.... the food is still as good as I remember :)

Haven't been in over 2 Years and place has changed hands to new ownership group. No longer the little bistro in surfside but according to the bartender and host the kitchen staff and chef remain in tact. 3 for Dinner No Appetizers ordered but the complimentary Bruchetta and warm rolls were excellent as I remember. 2 Stuffed Veal Chops with Procuitto / Buffalo Mozerrella topped with Sundried tomatoes and a brown sauce demi glaze with sides of cappelinni in pink sauce were OUTSTANDING $41.95 Each Other entree was special Osso Bucco over Rissoto which was tender as butter, flavorfull and a feast for a king. Good bottle of wine and some espresso rounded out the meal. All and all food was as good if not better than I remember, crowd upscale and classy and definitely on my repeat list.

Background: My husbands and I are locals to Surfside area and have lived there for about 5 years. We are a young couple in our mid-twenties who had been looking for an authentic italian restaurant with no luck...of course until we found Cafe Ragazzi! Cafe Ragazzi is authentic italian food and the majority of the things are homemade. The customer service is amazing and we always feel like family going here. Luis is the waiter to ask for, he is the nicest and is always on top of everything. Regardless of the dessets you choose all will be delicious but our favorites are the chocolate moose and apple tart! YUM! It is a small place so call and make reservations but you will not be dissapointed.

I have been coming to Cafe Ragazzi even before it took over the space from the travel agency next door. I always loved the food there, and, although it was far from true Italian cuisine, it was a fun evening with dependable food. After a recent meal there, I am sad to say that I will never eat there again. The meatball appetizer, which I remember as flavorful meatballs with a bright tomato sauce and a scoop of ricotta, came to the table as disturbingly pink (what did they use? pastrami? corned beef? spam? ) meatballs with a drizzle of watered down ricotta. I ordered the eggplant rollatini as a main course, and it was thin slices of eggplant rolled around bricks of cheap mozzarella, covered with tomato sauce and yet another layer of mozzarella. Mozzarella overkill! - it was inedible, and the waiter was quite polite in offering to take it back. I substituted it with spaghetti and tomato/garlic sauce, and although the sauce was freshly made, the pasta was way, way overcooked. Chef - you are supposed to slightly undercook the pasta, then finish it in the pan with the sauce so the pasta is al dente when it comes to table. My dinner partner had the chicken in lemon sauce, and the chicken appeared to be brined, which is unnecessary in a chicken saute like that. For dessert, we decided to have the strawberries with zabaglione, which has always been whole berries and the zab. Last night, the strawberries had been finely chopped and in an anemic syrup - when you take a spoon of either the berries or the zab, you wound up with unappetizing spoonfuls of strawberry juice in the zab or zab in the strawberries. Very unappetizing. Isn't it easier to just use fresh strawberries? - or are they sourcing the berries pre-chopped and sauced? All in all, an extremely dissappointing dining experience for two long-time south Florida residents.

We came here after arriving late from the airport and were able to get a table for five straight away. It's got a nice elegant atmosphere but not so much so that you'd need to dress up at all. The service was quite quick (although our waiter was a combination of semi- hostile and humorous which I found likable but might put off other more sensitive guests!) The food was pretty good but nothing mindblowing- I had the puttanesca but with spaghetti rather than penne and it was tasty if a little heavy on the olives for my taste! We also had a really nice bottle of Malbec with our food and the prices were reasonable all round. One thing I didn't like was that there are tv screens for watching sports which didn't seem to fit with the vibe of the restaurant and were a bit distracting! But no biggie really, didn't ruin our night at all and I think some guests would enjoy it. All in all it's a good solid option for a last minute dinner out!
Great food and atmosphere!!! Was invited there by a friend and I must say he picked the right place!!! loved it!!!

I really like this place. I normally do not go out for Italian but I do enjoy Cafe Ragazzi from time to time. The best thing to do is to go on southfloridadines (now known as localdines.com ) and get the $40 gift certificate for $20. That really makes the place a great deal. The link is below to check it out. localdines.com/southflor…

I was not overly impressed with Cafe Ragazzi. Surfside has and has always been droll comparatively to its sister Bal harbour just feet away. With street parking we encountered master meters that did not work and had to move our car to a municipal lot where we could pay for parking which is monitored 24/7. As for the restaurant the service was very attentive but than again there were only 4 tables in the restaurant the evening that we went. On our visit we had the fried calamari to start along with the special of the evening of Osso Buco and also scallops of veal in a piccatta sauce. Overall I would have to say I was unimpressed with Cafe Ragazzi. The menu offered nothing beyond that standard Italian menu items that could be had anywhere else in South Florida. There was no particular menu item or aspect of the restaurant that presented a draw to the restaurant to justify a special trip or go out of the way over to Surfside. As for the food I was equally unimpressed. The Osso Buco was stringy and still had bay leaves in the sauce while served on a bed of risotto that left an unappealing after taste in the mouth. When you pay $43.95 for an entree a diner should not be expected to pick elements out of their food. The scallops of veal were tough and leather-like an uncharacteristic element of veal which if prepared correctly will be tender and have a mild flavor. The fried calamari that we had to start was served with a marinara sauce reminiscent of those to be had off the shelf from any supermarket. Would I recommend Cafe Regazzi? I would say simply No. There are equivalent Italian options at much more reasonable prices to be found or far better options in the same price point. I will however state that the service was very good so a careful selection on the menu might procure a satisfying result here but it is definitely not a place I would go out of my way to visit.

Atmosphere was good and service was impeccable. Waiters were very attentive and prompt, yet didn't push to close out the tab. Really good all around. However, the food didn't live up to the level of service. The tuna tartare could not have been more bland, even with the vinegar added, and the crab meat ravioli did not wow us in taste or portion size. To be fair, I only tried two dishes, but strangely enough they didn't have lasagna on the menu which is why I wanted Italian on that night in the first place. The place is a little loud and there were three birthdays with a loud chorus from the staff, so might not be the best place for a romantic dinner.

Thank you!

My first time at this restaurant. The service was spectacular and the food was delicious. I ordered a seafood risotto dish with truffle oil. My boyfriend ordered the snapper with capers. We were both very happy! Seeing Carlos vives eating at the restaurant was also a plus. :)

Always a great meal. This is sort of place you wouldn't mind waiting an 1.30 hours for a table. The restaurant is small and quaint. The service is super super hospitable and fast. Management is tight and very involved in service. Food, however AMERICANIZED it's stupid good! A great restaurant best Italian I have had in Miami. No bs at this restaurant. Good food, good service all the time!

I was taken to this cozy Italian restaurant by a friend of mine for lunch one day. She told me everything on their menu was good. I found myself ordering something "safe." I had their special of the day, the spinach lasagna...Let me tell you something. I was close to eating the plate itself. I wiped the plate so clean with bread that it looked like it just came out of the dishwasher. After that experience, I dine here occasionally and have been satisfied everytime. In the evenings it is a dimly lit restaurant to enjoy with someone special. Occasionally they will have a live performer entertaining with music. Prices are fare and affordable. Especially for the quality of food served. One of my favorite Italian restaurants by far that is not a chain.

I have driven past, eaten next to, and sadly overlooked this gem in Surfside for so long. My uncle from Buenos Aires invited me to dinner at this amazing little resturant based on a recommendation from a friend who traveled here. And what an amazing place this is. We arrived fairly early by Miami standards, but with young children, we like to get home early. At first we were alone in the dining room, for almost an hour. I was a little nervous, until I tried the fresh bruschetta. One bite, and I knew it was going to be a special dinner. PAsta was wonderful, very fresh. Everything was a delight. the wait staff was attentive and intuative. Barely had to ask for anything, they just knew. I will be going again on date night with my wife. Great little romantic dinner joint as well. You won't be disappointed!

Cafe Ragazzi has expanded since they sold the restaurant a few years ago. While there still may be lines out the door, you will not be given a complementary beer or glass of Chianti since Beto is not there any longer. The food is standard Italian fare but they specialize in the whole fish served table side. Very nice if you have a large group. The artichoke with bread crumbs and garlic is one of the best. Meatballs are good. Try the veal!! Now they have a brick oven for pizza. Mama is not there any longer either but the dessert is still good. Prices are reasonable. Relaxed environment. Service is good. Mangia!!

WOW you have gone way, way, way downhill since Beto sold this place. The food it just tasteless, bad quality, processed, and dripping in oil. To bad I used to go 7 years ago 3 times a week for their amazing $7.95 lunch special. They had the best chicken francesce, penne pasta with fresh sauce, and salads. Now the chicken tasted frozen, and processed. The pasta was over cooked and dripping in oil. The food is just not the same. So sad because I live down the street and do miss dinning here. But, after to really awful meals I just refuse to go back. I talked to a few locals in the area and I am not the only one that feels this way. You can tell they are suffering since they expanded there used to be lines to get in now you drive by and it is empty.

My boyfriend and I went here a Saturday night, they sat us down right away and brought over some bread and bruschetta, which was delicious! He ordered the lasagna al forno and I ordered their special seafood raviolini that came with shrimp and lobster. We both loved our dishes and will be returning.

Alright, the service is slow, the place feels claustrophobic and the food is not worth the visit. This is not "authentic Italian" or "the best Italian" as some put it. It's far from that. They might want to go to Italy first and then review it again. I have been there twice and I'll never go back. Bread is horrible, lasagna was extremely salty (it was sent back), pizza was undercooked ( you could taste the raw dough), risotto was bland... Ridiculously overpriced (food and wine) Careful if ordering a special, since they don't mention any prices... It looks like this restaurant used to be very good at some point, years ago. Most of the good reviews are from 1, 2 or 3 years ago. I was there recently and I should have never given it a second chance. What a waste of money.

We walked in on a Friday night without reservations without a problem. Not to mention, our friends we were with seemed to be regulars and were greeted with kisses. It was a crowded little place, I often had to move my chair in for a waiter to get by, and I didn't think the big screen TVs with the basketball games really fit the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everything else was excellent. The bread on the table with the tomato was delicious, I decided not to order an appetizer because I knew I would eat too much of the bread! But others ordered salads, I tried the caprese salad with the house dressing and it was delicious! For dinner I had the risotto was excellent! Very filling but perfect :) Dessert we all split the apple tart which was a good idea surprisingly. We had tea and coffee to accompany the dessert. Great place, definitely would like to go back! PS, good wine too!

I have been coming here since it was a small hole-in-the-wall on the corner. It is the best italian restaurant in South Florida not only for the quality of the food, but for the exceptional customer service. Everytime I go in, the staff makes me feel like a member of the family. Many times when a place changes ownership there is a decline in quality, but not here. It continues to exceed my expectations with every meal. I highly recommend the specials. They are pricey, but well worth it. Osso Bucco is a wonderful mainstay on the specials list, but the grilled veal ribs and the veal chop valdostana are amazing as well. I have never had a bad experience here and I will continue to make this my go-to spot for great food and service.

Very good meal. I loved the chicken Parmesan and mushroom risotto. So flavorful! It is a very small place, so make sure to make a reservation. The only negative is that there seems to be too many tables squished into the space. But, the food is worth it!

What a nice little cafe style restaurant! The environment was a little too mainstream for me, but my friend from tennis and I had a good chat and a good meal! They could do a little with the lighting and styling of this place, and it could be really romantic and quaint. I had chicken francese, and I do love the classic dishes, and this one was very good! They did theirs only with white wine which was a nice surprise for me as I usually hit it with a little lemon as well. The only thing was the rest of the meal was just, ah, quite okay. They served "bruschetta" at no charge--and I didn't say say bruschetta--because the bread was not toasted. Or, maybe it's just bread and a tomato salad for it? It just didn't seem Italian to me. I asked for butter, and he brought it right out (their oil did not look of high quality, so I knew not to ask). The waiter was so nice! Why don't I meet more people like that? I expected a snippy waiter on account of the location. I may give this another try at some point and it may go up to 4!

If you want to feel at home and be greeted by name and hugs every time you go, this comfortable,,at home feeling,,Argentinian/Italian bistro is the place to go. Just point to anything on the menu and order it and you will not be disappointed. It is that good! The meatballs and Ai Porcini pizza definitely are my favorites.

I don't get the hype about this place. My breaded artichoke appetizer was good and the bruschetta was unique and delicious. But, it just didn't spark that much awe into me-another mediocre Italian place in South Florida. Thanks, but I would rather to go to my friend's mother's house.

I've been coming to Ragazzi since i can remember. And its tastes just as amazing as it did when i was a kid. Its been my favorite restaurant since. My godmother used to work at Harding Reality, which is just down the street, and i remember walking with her to her lunch, or sometimes meeting up with her there with my mom. great memories, great food. It was a hole in the wall back then... a real hole in the wall but felt very authentic and special and unique. Now after the expansion, its still just as good with a little more leg room.

Small, trattoria style Italian Restaurant about 2 blocks south of Bal Harbour Mall. Ragazzi has a very intimate feel to it, making it a good date restaurant. The first time I came here, the place was a small hole in the wall, but you can tell even then that it had a devoted following, as the place was always packed person-to-person, especially for weekend dinners. About 5 years ago, they bought the neighboring store and expanded, adding a full service bar and an open kitchen. Frankly, the place really needed to be expanded, but even on some nights, expect to wait, unless you make reservations in advance. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, they always greet you warmly at the door and the service from there is prompt and professional. Food is well prepared and tasty. Try the Osso Buco, it's very flavorful and the meat falls right off the bone. Any of the risotto dishes are excellent, along with the pastas. The pizzas are just okay though, nothing spectacular. I recommend this.

Cafe Ragazzi has earned my five-star honor because of their delicious italian fare and friendly, efficient service. The bread and tomatoes (free at your table) are to die, and the arugula pizza I had with spicy salami was some of the best pizza I've had in Miami to date. Fried zucchini platter was good and the truffle mushroom pasta was rich and satisfying. I came here with my parents (who are italian and know the cuisine very well) and they were impressed. The waiters were polite and they all worked together to be accommodating. I walked out so full and happy -- I am definitely coming back.

My business partner and his gf raved about this Italian restaurant. Well, I didn't believe how good it was so he dragged me there today for a late lunch. We ordered the Meatball appetizer and the Chicken Francaise. The meatballs were so so, i have had much better at other places. However, the chicken dish was delicious and worth coming back for more. A neighborhood Italian restaurant for a quiet evening or business lunch in Surfside or the Bal Harbour area. When eating at an Italian restaurant for the first time, I often have a hard time ordering since I enjoy eating pasta such as a Linguine Pancetta Carbonara or a Lasagna as a stand alone dish but I'd also like to try one of their Veal or chicken main dishes such as a Veal Chop or one of their Chicken dishes. I usually wonder if a pasta dish itself with a small salad or appetizer will be enough food or if the Chicken/Veal dish with a pasta would be too much. Usually, I'm heavily influenced by price since the W and I usually don't share. Cafe Ragazzi wasn't too much different, I thought about trying their signature Chicken dish that was recommended by my W's friend, but I couldn't leave Cafe Ragazzi without trying their Linguine Carbonara with Pancetta, so that's what I ordered with a side appetizer of their meat balls with ricotta cheese. The meat balls (4 to the plate) were absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked, tender and with a perfect texture. The Linguine Carbonara was not as al dente as I would have preferred and the pancetta was soft and not like overcooked bacon, the way I like it. However, the portion was so generous that I had the leftovers for lunch the following day. Meanwhile, the W and her friend were enjoying the chicken dish which was very good and the friend's husband was feasting on their lasagna which looked great. I have to say I had a little food envy and wish I would have sampled it. For dessert we tried their Apple tart but I couldn't really enjoy it since I should have left left more of my main course for the following day's lunch. The Saturday crowd at Cafe Ragazzi was very mixed. There were a small number of the retirees, but there were mainly the Baby Boomers and some Gen Ys. Their bar is very small with only a few stools. There's plenty of metered parking, but make sure you bring your quarters because these meters don't take credit cards.

I rarely give five stars but this place has earned it! It is intimate, has an unbelievably friendly and well trained staff, amazing food, and a wide variety of wines. I feel like I am in Italy when I am there. I like so sit at the bar for a glass of wine before dinning to make friends with the staff. Some are really from Italy and have great stories. Try to go somewhat early on a week night so that you can have the place to yourself.

i probably went to cafe ragazzi for the first time in 1998 or so. it used to be smaller, it used to be really really tiny actually. i guess its been renovated somewhat recently. now its twice the size it used to be, you can now see the kitchen area, and they also have a full bar with stools and all. in comparison to what it used to be, unfortunately i must say that it used to be better when it was smaller, perhaps it was less pretentious and more family style, that and also - the fact that most of the people who worked there knew me well - was also charming about this place, therefore, i used to take my ladies for dinner to this restaurant all the time, hey - im keeping it real - so, i had been to ragazzi once since those days so last night was only my second night. the place was pretty empty so service was very quick and helpful. i went with a friend of mine who was craving sauteed spinach so we had that and shared a fetuccini carbonara. the spinach was very good. with olive oil and garlic. i wasnt so happy about the pasta, i dont know. i guess the carbonara sauce was a little too creamy and salty for my taste. one thing that was really good was the bread. it came with diced tomatoes, basil, olive oil and garlic, like a bruschetta. good stuff. i have to say that i am a little sad that this place is no longer a 5 star restaurant to me anymore, but its definitely a good spot for a beautiful dinner with the right companion.

Sooooo good. Probably my favorite restaurant in Miami. The bread and tomatoes and AMAZING. Caesar salad is perfect, and the pasta bolognese is one of the best. My husband loves the osso bucco. Oh, and the lemon chicken is my new favorite dish. Wait staff is great, the place is bustling and the atmosphere is lively. Not crazy expensive either. And if there's a line, the owner will give you a glass of wine to keep you patient.

I have been to this restaurant several times and the food is good. However, tonight I was turned away...told there were no tables available. When I asked to sit at the bar, I was told the "bar was full," and it was suggested that I leave and come another night. My husband, who was putting money in our parking meter, went in five minutes later and was told he could be seated in "just a few minutes". My husband is dark skinned, dark eyed, South American looking which apparently works in south florida. When I joined him at the bar, I asked the host why I was told there was no table but my husband was offered to be seated right away. The host was visibly uncomfortable and made no apology. As we had our meal at a table near the front door, a pattern emerged. Every hispanic that came in was seated immediately. Foreigners or non-hispanics were told that there was no room. This is clearly a restaurant using racial profiling for seating preference. It is despicable. I will never go back to this restaurant again. It does not matter to me how good the food is. Patrons should not be turned away based on nationality or language. I urge you all not to patronize this restaurant!!

A little bit of Italy in North Miami. Great food, atmosphere, and staff. Well worth the visit!

I really like this place. I come here for lunch probably to often. The service is excellent as is the food.

This place was fine. I don't know why everyone raves about it. Maybe they were really hungry. Adjust your expectations.

I don't get the hype about this place. My breaded artichoke appetizer was good and the bruschetta was unique and delicious. But, it just didn't spark that much awe into me-another mediocre Italian place in South Florida. Thanks, but I would rather to go to my friend's mother's house.

i probably went to cafe ragazzi for the first time in 1998 or so. it used to be smaller, it used to be really really tiny actually. i guess its been renovated somewhat recently. now its twice the size it used to be, you can now see the kitchen area, and they also have a full bar with stools and all. in comparison to what it used to be, unfortunately i must say that it used to be better when it was smaller, perhaps it was less pretentious and more family style, that and also - the fact that most of the people who worked there knew me well - was also charming about this place, therefore, i used to take my ladies for dinner to this restaurant all the time, hey - im keeping it real - so, i had been to ragazzi once since those days so last night was only my second night. the place was pretty empty so service was very quick and helpful. i went with a friend of mine who was craving sauteed spinach so we had that and shared a fetuccini carbonara. the spinach was very good. with olive oil and garlic. i wasnt so happy about the pasta, i dont know. i guess the carbonara sauce was a little too creamy and salty for my taste. one thing that was really good was the bread. it came with diced tomatoes, basil, olive oil and garlic, like a bruschetta. good stuff. i have to say that i am a little sad that this place is no longer a 5 star restaurant to me anymore, but its definitely a good spot for a beautiful dinner with the right companion.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(2)Patrick C.

(3)Fabio L.
(4)Stephany G.
I tried the risotto and, excuse my language, it looked like a vomit, completely over cooked, thick like a glue, ugly. I couldn't eat it of course. I would only go back if I am in the mood for pizza
(2)Danielle C.
I am not an Italian food fan but this place is amazing. Food was beyond great. Recommend this place for everyone! Service was great too. Exceptional place. 6 stars!
(5)Lorena R.

(4)Colleen N.
(4)Kyle S.
(5)Laure M.
(4)Melissa L.
The food is very overpriced for the portion and quality! The only dish I enjoyed was the calamari. The service is also very slow.
(3)Kevin L.
(4)Michaela G.
(4)Merlina R.
(4)Edward S.
The restaurant itself is pretty. But the noise level is over the edge.
(3)Manuel N.
I give 3 stars to be generous. We had the Salmon Carpaccio for starter, it was NOT fresh, simple and on top of that, its gotta be the thinest carpaccio i've seen. Then we had a pizza which was good but not amazing. The service was average and the music was to fall asleep right there. I manage a restaurant and I know these guus can do a lot much better
(3)Rae V.
The food is alright but very heavy and overpriced. When they ask you for water, ask for tap. Otherwise it's $7.95 for still water.
(3)Josh B.
(2)Michael W.
(1)Jose R.
The best Italian restaurant, great food, drinks and service, it makes you feel like a Family;)
(5)Cristy J.
My first time at this restaurant. The service was spectacular and the food was delicious. I ordered a seafood risotto dish with truffle oil. My boyfriend ordered the snapper with capers. We were both very happy! Seeing Carlos vives eating at the restaurant was also a plus. :)
(4)Allison B.
(3)Jim A.
(1)Priscilla H.
Great place in Surfside! Tried the Chicken Marsala, very tasty and juicy. My husband had the fettuccine with lamb, that was Unbelievable!! Also Great service :) They are only missing a start due the carpaccio been so little. It was more like a joke. I prefer the Carpaccios at Bal Harbour shops...However the main dish was great!
(4)Julie A.
Cafe Ragazzi is that little cozy neighborhood restaurant that will not let you down. The food is good and consistent but not utterly refine.
(3)Mark K.
I love this restaurant. The spaghetti and meatballs is all I ever get. It's always packed so I assume everything else is just as delicious. The bread and diced tomatoes with olive oil and garlic is awesome also. Very flavorful and fresh!
(5)Vanessa D.
(5)Tomas B.

(5)Diana S.
All in all, an extremely dissappointing dining experience for two long-time south Florida residents.

one of the best cesar salad I ever eat !! Home made dressing and juicy chicken Dusted with sesame seeds !!
(5)Tess H.

I was introduced to Café Ragazzi over 12 years ago, by an old high school buddy of mine who lived in Aventura. Back then the restaurant was half the size and was owned by a different restaurateur from Argentina. I remember waiting outside for our table to come up and he would serve us complimentary glasses of wine as we stood outside as there was never room inside to wait. A great experience from the start. I kept going back and picked Café Ragazzi as the place to take my my wife on her first date and because of the ambiance, the authentic Italian cuisine and the great accommodating staff who all seem to love working there. I ended up marrying her. Since that time, we have continued to go back even though we live in Ft. Lauderdale and drove all the way to Surfside to keep on getting our Ragazzi fix. We always take clients there and friends that appreciate great Italian food. Moving ahead some years later, Café Ragazzi is now owned by Ricardo Montaner, a world renowned singer from Argentina and is run by his family. The place has expanded, double the size, with a beautiful open kitchen and a large brick oven that is hard to miss. Just beautiful as you walk in, bright, white table clothes, the smell of great food, and a greeting by one of he oldest employees, Christian who used to be our waiter but now manages the floor. After one or two times going there, make sure you introduce yourself to Christian. He is a warm individual who will remember you and take you in like it's his own home. Every customer and friend we have taken there loves to go back, and has gone back on their own. As you are taken to your table, and relax with a drink or your wine, you will get a run down of the specials, but will not be rushed. Very relaxed. Ragazzi's wine list is mostly Italian with some very high end wines, but we always are welcomed to bring our own wine. They will decanter it for you and just charge the normal corkage fee most restaurants charge, twenty dollars. As for the menu? The highlight for me has always been the delicious Osso Bucco, served over risotto. I recommend the first time going there to try that especially if you like Osso Bucco. In my opinion, it is the best I have had. It is so good, I had to immediately make that a point of reference for the entrée. First, though, for appetizers, Michelle, our friend had an tasteful Caesar Salad, topped with fresh anchovies that will definitely stand out. An Italian restaurant can only be judged by their meatball appetizer, and after you have this which is a must to share, then they got you!!! Four beautifully seasoned meatballs with an incredible sauce and flowing ricotta cheese served right in the middle of the dish, which we love to dip each bite into this amazing ricotta. If you love stuffed artichokes, we had the best last night. Check out the delicious stuffing with breading, garlic and onions with an amazing perfectly cooked artichoke. The stuffing was so moist, not dried out like some places I have had it. Also recommend sharing because their portion is so large. Back to the entrée dishes. Their pastas are simply outstanding. We were there with our very dear friends last night and we had the opportunity to all order our own dishes to share, which gave us the chance to order two of the freshest pastas; Papardelle Porcini and Papardelle Veal Ragu. So fresh and soft was the Papardelli served with large Porcini mushrooms, mushroom sauce with truffles. The delicious Pappardelle Veal Ragu, with our choice of topping it off with fresh Parmesan was so delicious and light. We really enjoyed the Grilled Veal Chop with mushrooms and peppers served medium, and the Veal Ragazzi, which is their large pounded veal, baked with a very tasty breading served with salad greens on the side. I have never had a bad dish here. Everything is fresh, and the combination of flavors in all their dishes Is something that can't be described. The service is top notch and professional, and the night just seems to flow with great wine, a large variety of flavorful dishes and an ambiance that is very rare in South Florida as Italian restaurants go. Of course our great friends, Michelle and Dominick made the evening, and as they know Italian restaurants best; they gave it a huge thumbs up. One important thing to remember. When you get the check, they do add in gratuity, so do not over tip again. I made that mistake last night and an unusual thing happened for South Florida; Christian caught it and took the extra tip off before we left. Tells you a lot about Café Ragazzi's character. Five stars for Café Ragazzi. If you live way north of Surfside, it is worth the trip, but recommend taking Uber which we did last evening. Bon Appetite!!!

(4)Melissa L.
The food is very overpriced for the portion and quality! The only dish I enjoyed was the calamari. The service is also very slow.
(3)Kevin L.

(4)Michael W.
(1)Jose R.
The best Italian restaurant, great food, drinks and service, it makes you feel like a Family;)
(5)Richard P.
(3)Tess H.

Cafe Ragazzi is that little cozy neighborhood restaurant that will not let you down. The food is good and consistent but not utterly refine.
(3)Allison B.
(3)Jim A.

(4)Colleen N.
(4)Kyle S.
(5)Mark K.
I love this restaurant. The spaghetti and meatballs is all I ever get. It's always packed so I assume everything else is just as delicious. The bread and diced tomatoes with olive oil and garlic is awesome also. Very flavorful and fresh!
(5)Merlina R.
(4)Edward S.
(3)Josh B.
(2)Brenda P.
(4)Diane N.
I've been to Cafe Ragazzi a few times for lunch. It's an attractive little restaurant with good food and good service. I enjoyed their lunch.
(3)Patrick C.
(4)Nanette B.
Delicious Italian food! Perfect for any occasion. Lunch time happens to be very pleasant and quiet. Wine recommendation was excellent! Definitely recommending this place to my family, friends and colleagues!!! Thank you!
(4)Come G.
(2)Fabio L.
6 stars!

(5)Diana S.

(5)Mike U.
(5)Eric G.

Excellent Italian food with great service. It is a little pricey but all in all I highly recommend coming to this spot with a big group of people for a fun night of pigging out.

(5)Chalice J.
Very good meal. I loved the chicken Parmesan and mushroom risotto. So flavorful! It is a very small place, so make sure to make a reservation. The only negative is that there seems to be too many tables squished into the space. But, the food is worth it!

Exceptionally average food.

(5)Colin M.
This place was fine. I don't know why everyone raves about it. Maybe they were really hungry. Adjust your expectations.
(3)Lindsay G.

(4)Andy B.
(4)Renee D.
Great food - neighborhood ambience - without being too quaint. A great place to go with friends or a group - I think it's the first place I actually finished a plate of pasta - ;)
(4)Rich G.
Overpriced, too many tables inside cramped together and average tasting food. Not worth waiting in line for more than five minutes.
(1)Ryan M.
Great service, great food, and great ownership. Good for a romantic dinner, or a family outing.
(5)Natalia G.
(5)Bill H.
The atmosphere made me feel like i was 10 years older, because of the location it is not a hip SOBE type of restaurant. All in all it is a OK place to dine for Italian.
(3)Sree Harsha U.
very good authentic Italian food. little bit over priced but worth going to. very good service. The food is really good and the thing that impressed me the most is that it had a menu in "Italian" language. :)
(4)Martin O.
(4)Crystal B.
(5)John J.
A little bit of Italy in North Miami. Great food, atmosphere, and staff. Well worth the visit!

I really like this place. I come here for lunch probably to often. The service is excellent as is the food.

i probably went to cafe ragazzi for the first time in 1998 or so. it used to be smaller, it used to be really really tiny actually. i guess its been renovated somewhat recently. now its twice the size it used to be, you can now see the kitchen area, and they also have a full bar with stools and all. in comparison to what it used to be, unfortunately i must say that it used to be better when it was smaller, perhaps it was less pretentious and more family style, that and also - the fact that most of the people who worked there knew me well - was also charming about this place, therefore, i used to take my ladies for dinner to this restaurant all the time, hey - im keeping it real - so, i had been to ragazzi once since those days so last night was only my second night. the place was pretty empty so service was very quick and helpful. i went with a friend of mine who was craving sauteed spinach so we had that and shared a fetuccini carbonara. the spinach was very good. with olive oil and garlic. i wasnt so happy about the pasta, i dont know. i guess the carbonara sauce was a little too creamy and salty for my taste. one thing that was really good was the bread. it came with diced tomatoes, basil, olive oil and garlic, like a bruschetta. good stuff. i have to say that i am a little sad that this place is no longer a 5 star restaurant to me anymore, but its definitely a good spot for a beautiful dinner with the right companion.
(3)J. N.

(5)Mike U.
(5)Kevin W.
Mangia!!
(4)Alissa W.
