This place serves the best vegetarian Indian cuisine, and at a great price. I drive from Miami to eat here and will keep coming back.

This restaurant was phenomenal! The service was great and the food was wonderful. We were greeted as soon as we came in the door. The restaurant was clean - a must for me, and the server was quiet but polite and took care of us. The food gives you a nice introduction to vegetarian Indian food and , depending on your dish, the spice level is moderate. I can't think of a single thing that could be improved and coming from me that's high praise, with the exception of the absence of kulfi from the dessert menu. I recommend this restaurant to people of all cultures.

One of the good indian restaurants in this area. The food is delicious, the variety is good and the service is excellent! Would definitely recommend trying out snacks and appetizers. Last time I had hara bhara kabab which was okayish but the paneer dosa was great! Today I had samosa chat (absolutely delicious) and chana bhatura which was also very very very delicious! The waiter also gave us complimentary custard!

After we ordered chai and I was on my 3rd chai he says we can't serve only chai!!!!.....wahhhhhh?!?!? IM PAYING FOR IT! .... I said he says if I only serve chai and appetizers my business is going to shut down....LMAO!!!!...didn't I say I'm paying for it?!?!?!!

Sorry to say it, but I did not enjoy the food in this place. I had high expectations from the moment I was reading the menu. I loved the fact most dishes are vegan. Of course being an Indian restaurant you will expect a lot of spicy food. Knowing this I asked the waiter what non spicy dish he will recommend. Promptly he said black dah. Perfect. As an appetizer I ordered split peas samosas. The samosas came with two spicy sauces that I skip, of course. Then the black Dahl arrived, and that's when the fireworks begun. It was so spicy I even didn't touch it. Places like this MUST have real non spicy alternatives for people who can not tolerate those flavors. I got home hungry. Should I be back at Udipi? Probably not.

Had worst experience last night. Never order mirchi pakora ....its insanely spicy ... It's not pakora ... just Indian mirchi. Service is very poor n hopeless. Batura is ok. Order mirchi pakora at your own risk.

Okay so I've been coming here for years now and apparently everyone keeps saying that the quality and the customer service has gone down majorly....& I think I'm probably the only one that disagrees. Firstly they are a South Indian based restaurant and with that name they have the best Dosa is all of south Florida, and if you want better you'll probably have to go to Texas at the Taj. And the customer service I don't see anything wrong with it, I don't think there are any hygienic or environmental concerns like I've heard people mention, this place has always been my go to place for Paper Dosa, Bathurst, & The coconut Chutney. Definitely still better than Woodlands

I went for the $9 lunch buffet. There is no menu for lunch...only buffet. The price is right for the variety on the buffet. Unfortunately, none of the items were labeled so I have no idea what I ate! It was all good though. I wish there was dessert and NAAN. This is my first buffet with no naan. There is salad with two thick sauces next to it. They had fresh fried dough items. A lot of the dishes were spicy. All items are vegetarian, which means all types of beans....lentils, chick pea, white beans. They bring a crepe with mashed potato and onion in the middle to your table. Also, a pitcher of water which is greatly needed with the spicy food. Plates were cleared promptly and buffet was well stocked. At noon on a Friday there were only four other diners. It seemed like the owner was sitting at one of the tables and he spoke to a few guests in another language. He checked me out and I told him I found it on yelp and would be reviewing. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot in front of the restaurant. It was good, but with so many Indian places to try I won't rush back while I try other places.

Delicious authentic Indian food, friendly service, beautifully calm atmosphere. LOVE that the menu is clearly labeled vegetarian/vegan, and there are SO many different things to choose from.

I've been coming to this place for years, and after going there for dinner last night (they were closing, but let us in) it occurred to me that I've never reviewed this place for the great place it is. I'm in no position to judge this as authentic or not. I'm not Indian, but I've lived with a lot of Indians as a student and enjoy the food. All the Indians I've met here in South Florida have recommended this place, and now I am too. I enjoy the palak paneer there, they do it pretty well there (in my humble opinion). This is a creamy spinach dish with chunks of panner (Indian yogurt based cheese). One of the more popular classic dishes there, where you really can't go wrong is the Chana Masala, a chickpea based dish in a creamy sauce. I don't know what they call it but there's a fried bread that they serve with the Chana Masala, that's about the size of a small pillow, but filled with air. This is really popular there too, and really good. One thing though, this place is all vegetarian. If you want a meat based dish, this isn't the place to go to, but there are already a lot of these around. One thing I didn't like do much there had been the cold rice based appetizers, such as the papri chaat. It's not that they're bad, just not as good as the other stuff they have. The service there is really friendly.

As a vegan, it's hard to stuff your face when you get the urge... Unless you come here! Talk about endless eating. I had to sit there for 60 minutes just because I could barely walk! There are so many yummy things to eat. Just ignore the upgrades needed.

Great veg indian. Sunday's nice buffet selection. Good value; some dishes more on point than others but overall very good food. If u want atmosphere of service don't come here; but for veg Indian food is worth the trip.

Udipi Cafe is a strictly vegetarian Indian restaurant with vegan and kosher options as well as a buffet during lunch hours. We come here mostly for the Dosas- thin crepes that may be eaten plain with the soupy sauce, coconut chutney or ordered with a potato filling. I am also a fan of their Channa Batura- a thick chick pea stew (Channa), simmered with spices and tomatoes until the chick peas are tender and succulent, served with a fried dough bread (Batura). Today we deviated from our standard and ordered a Rava Dosa filled with potatoes, a Hakka noodles, and a Samosa chat. Hakka Noodles is essentially boiled noodles stir fried with vegetables, sauce and seasonings. To be honest, I don't care much for this dish- it tends to seem oily and the seasonings don't meld as well as they should. But it is a popular street food overseas so I must be missing something! ;-) The Samosa Chaat is excellent! I forgot how good this appetizer was! Chopped up pieces of samosa (potato and pea filled fried dumplings) with chick peas, potato, onion, yogurt, tamarind sauce and crunchies! Delicious! This had just the right combination of salty, spicy and tangy flavors to make my mouth water! The decor is so-so. What is it with Indian restaurants and their lack of ambiance? I feel like it would be so for them to dazzle up and design an interior with the jeweled colors and fabrics they are known for but 75% of them do nothing!! Service is avg. You and your needs are attended to, but in a very curt fashion. Everyone seems nice enough when you try to engage them but your efforts are simply met with a kind smile before the servers retreat back to work.

My wife and i have been coming to this restaurant for years now and the food is by far THE BEST Indian food in my book. We can never get tired of this delicious food made from scratch. The owner Sean is extremely accommodating. If you want to eat the best Indian food in at least south Florida you gotta try this place. We rate this place 5 stars for its awesome true vegetarian Indian food. You will not regret it. AAAAA+++++

I love this place! Good food at good prices. I come for the lunch buffet whenever I'm in the area. Always a nice variety of choices. Sometimes a little hotter spiciness than I like, but always flavorful and satisfying.

I tried the food there a year ago and it was awful. I tried it again last month hoping for a change.. still the same. I wanted to try one last time today and didn't even wanted to eat there because the owner of that place was just rude. I wouldn't give it a one star but I am doing it so yelp would let me post this. Do yourself a favor and stay away, this place has given me nothing but bad experiences and diarrhea.

So I recently visited Udipi after not being there a few months and must say THE MANAGEMENT IS EXTREMELY RUDE !! I ordered onion bhaijyas and samosa chaat ... So disappointed so my friend asked to speak to manager and voiced the food was salt-less the answer received was "Don't come here next time" the reason this place was closed for "renovations" was not the reason !! Check out the health boards reasoning !! I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE eating there !! Woodlands is literally down the road and worth the drive and you won't have roaches in your food !!!

My son and I ate here and the food was excellent! I had a panner dish, he had one that included tofu. Both uniquely different tasting though looked similar. We also got a panner dosa, equally delicious. Service was perfect, food delightful, please try this place out. I believe they also have a lunch buffet.

Frankly the best, most delicious, authentic Indian food in south Florida. Don't get put off by how the place looks the food is amazing!!! The seasoning is perfect and the service is great. You won't regret it!!!

Unhealthy. Not tasty. The idli and vada tasted frozen. The Chinese dishes were soaking with oil. The service was terrible. Our waiter walked away from the table for 5 minutes mid order. It took him 20 mins after we got there to attend to us and then he left us mid order!

There is no option for a zero star or I would have given that. The worst restaurant ever. The service is so poor, they have like 20 tables and only one server. I guess they realize that all 20 tables will never be occupied. Food was below standard and the they have no hygiene check. I could see rice sticking on server's hands when she was serving us food.

I used to love Udipi cafe when I lived in Plantation 5 years ago, I was so excited to come back and eat it today, but was soooo disappointed. The service was awful, we were two of four people in the whole restaurant and they ignored us at the door for 3 minutes, then didn't give us menus for 10, or take our order for another 20. The food was lukewarm and did not taste at all to the quality I remembered. The menu and prices had also changed, and not for the better. I am sorry to say this but do not come here for dinner, the two ladies behind us left after getting tier first dish, refusing to pay, we should have known it would suck.

Every time I eat at Udipi, the food is excellent! Most of the time I come for the buffet for the variety, however the Thali is where I get my variety fix when there is no buffet. Great food! I'll continue coming back, for sure!

Wow! Where to start?! We finished up with the Cirque du Soleil show held at the BB&T Center in Sunrise and everyone wanted Udipi for dinner. Udipi closes at 10pm, and the show finished around 9:40pm. If anyone has been to the BB&T Center, you know it's at least a 1/2hr to get out of the parking lot after a show! Anyway, we called Udipi and asked if there was any way they could keep the restaurant open for us! They said YES! They even took our order over the phone! We got there shortly after 10pm, they were so courteous and friendly! They brought out all our preordered dishes, and we went ahead and ordered even more food. The food was EXCELLENT! Each and every dish was beyond scrumptious! The dosas were freshly prepared, crisp, and mouth watering! The sambar was tasty and well prepared. We ordered a few appetizers as well as some idlis, all were amazing! The food was SO fresh....so obvious that everything was made as ordered. The service was the best I have experienced in awhile. Everyone was smiling and very attentive our entire meal. Not once did we feel rushed. The fact that they waited for us, kept the kitchen/restaurant opened, plus the attentiveness of the staff and excellence of the food will definitely have us coming back and remain loyal customers! Thanks Udipi!

Food was unappetizing and did not have the expected flavors. Buffet dishes looked and tasted well below average. The large dosas were freshly made and tasted fine (one star). Drab, run-down, ambiance common to roadside stops in India. Owner completely ignored us in favor of his smart phone which absorbed 100% of his concentration. A trip to the restroom confirmed my suspicions about cleanliness, yet we did not become ill...a grateful fact worthy of a second star.

Excellent, authentic Indian food, for an incredible price. The service was a little weird, but pretty much everything else about this restaurant makes up for it. I'll be back, frequently.

Went there for a weekend lunch buffet and was not impressed. Though the thought of having home cooked style-south Indian food is noble, execution is subpar. Only sambar vada and custard were the saving grace. Rest of the items on the buffet were either sitting out there too long or were simply bland. They do serve hot dosa with the buffet at the table but even that was ordinary. Not a value for money. Go there at your own craving!

Udipi is the only Indian restaurant I frequent these days... Mainly because I'm vegan and don't want to ask a million and one questions at a non-vegetarian Indian joint! Try the samosa chaat, cauliflower 99 & the yellow dal. Thank me later!

My in-laws heard this was one of the best Indian restaurants in south Florida. They know I love Indian food so they took me here for dinner during a visit last week. We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared them among the table. Maybe I'm a bit of a snob coming from NYC but I found Udipi very average. Yes, some dishes were good. The somosas were above average. So was the dosa. In fact, the dosa was huge and could easily feed a couple of people. My lasi was also decent. However, other dishes we had were mediocre to subpar. For instance, we tried a dessert that was basically a sherbert with noodles. It was weird and didn't work. On top of this, the waitstaff, while polite, weren't very friendly or enthusiastic. In fact, they all seemed kinda depressed. Overall, Udipi is worth going to (especially if you keep kosher or are a vegetarian) but I've had better Indian dining experiences elsewhere.

The place was just very odd. We went there for lunch. It's set up as a buffet style. I had no idea what I was eating because nothing had a description on it. The food was bland. I guess it's good if you are a vegetarian and you aren't picky. Also, the staff, not very friendly.

I've been going to Udipi Cafe for a couple of years now and it's, not only one of the best vegetarian restaurants in SoFla, but one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. I used to go for the daily buffet that goes from 11-3 (or something like that... Don't quote me). The restaurant is completely vegetarian with some vegan and Jain options. Lots of masala, paneer and veggies. I'm telling you, though... Meat eaters will love this place. Everything is so hearty and rich. You won't even notice there's no meat in any of it. I don't recommend going to the buffet if you're completely unfamiliar with Indian food. Mostly because they don't put labels on the food presented. I recently went for the dinner and honestly I recommend this the most. You know what you're eating, and it gives you the option of trying things they don't typically put on the menu. Must-eats: Samosas (best I've ever had) Lentil Donuts (savory donut with a really good green sauce) Palak Paneer (spinach with cheese... Amazing) Any masala on the menu But seriously... Just dig into anything. That's how you approach Indian. Enjoy.

I'm sure I didn't do a very good job reading the reviews, because when my fellow ex-vegetarian friend Ariel and I dragged our boos in here, we were practically greeted with a WAH-WAH. It's vegetarian only, ok? That being said, they make some RIDICULOUSLY sized crepes that had me laughing so hard tears were pouring out of my eyes (picture to follow). Think a crepe-a-copia. And the food was genuinely good. Don't know if I'd go out of my way for it, but supposedly their lunch buffet is good--so, by all means.

First visit today for the lunch buffet. Excellent food. Did not know what most of it was but will ask for the "tour" next visit. Some spicy but all very flavorful. Will definitely return. Very friendly staff. Clean and well maintained. Parking was a little tight. Not sure why the description says Asian Fusion. There was no Asian and no Fusion.

We had Udipi cater our wedding down in Key Largo, and the guests absolutely loved the food! I was worried that the 2 hour drive would negatively impact the quality, but everything was delicious and wonderful. The mango lassi, samosa, and dosa were all huge hits with our guests. We also loved that the majority of the spread was vegan and gluten-free. Our meat-eating friends didn't even miss it! When I requested we have a contract in place for the catering, Santosh the owner, signed what i drafted and was very agreeable and easy to work with. The rate was also great, and the staff who came down to serve the food were fantastic- despite getting rained on, they served the food with a smile! Would definitely do business with again.

went here for lunch after seeing their review on the show "check please". the hostess was very rude and unpleasant, she looked at us like we were crazy when we asked if they had anything to drink! she also said they had no menu for lunch time, and it is "only buffet". we headed to the buffet and most of the bins were empty and nothing looked appetizing at all. I was so excited to come here after seeing them on the show, but instead ended up so embarrassed that I brought my family here. needless to we left without getting any food. never coming back here again and drove 15 miles to this restaurant for nothing.

I really wanted to like Udipi. I love Indian food and really wanted to find a good place, close to my parents home. We went for the lunch buffet. It is cheap, coming in at $9 per person including taxes. The food was fun to eat. However, it left us feeling unpleasant and not satisfied. If tight on money, this place is worth the stop. Otherwise, I would search out better culinary waters. I will be...

There was a stone in the food and they said it's sugar. The worst of the worst the manager owner or cook argues with you about cooking skills and ingredients. It wS a stone that he argued was brown sugar. Does this guy lack common sense that brown sugar melts ? Doesn't stay hard like rock in daal. Extremely disappointed instead of apologizing with his customers he is blaming them and arguing and making it a disaster experience. Health department should mKe a check on this restaurant

One of my new fav places! love the lunch buffet. had no idea what I was eating but that was the fun of it! it wasn't all spicy and a few dishes had medium spice which is perfect for this American girl! Service was good but nothing to brag about! will definitely be back.

Oh what a disappointment. Came here with high hopes for a Hyderabadi Biriyani from my first experience. After calling ahead on a Saturday and not opting for their lunch buffet, came to the Resturant and had to reorder. This was not the issue. The veggie biryani was nothing but mixing some basmathi with a Biriyani paste. No veggies, no aroma, no other spices. Above all it was served at Luke warm/cold. How can you get that wrong in a Resturant? We ordered some chai to drink away the disappointment only to realize that the tea was all water and bitter. I get the feeling the owner didn't want us to come back again. He succeeded!!

Wow, went to Udipi for their lunch buffet, and it was awesome!!! It resides in an ehh strip mall that might at first blush scare you away from actually eating there. We decided to risk it all and check it out. Glad we did because it was the best Indian restaurant we have been to in South Florida. It was not very crowded, we chose a booth by the window with a stunning view of the parking lot. We immediately went to the buffet and instantly knew we hit gold! Every dish was excellent. The spice level was huge. The curries, cardamom, cumin, peppers, cinnamon, garlic, ginger, were perfectly balanced. The huge dosa the waiter brought to our table was crispy and sweet and savory at the same time. Loved the fact everything was all veggie. Great value for lunch buffet. No doubt we will be back!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in South Florida. And, it is my favorite Indian restaurant. The fact that it is vegetarian is a plus. I love the dosas that come with each meal. The chutney is great (dip your nan in it!). The buffet offers different dishes each time. I love the lentils, curried cabbage, and anything with eggplant and chick peas. Some signs would be nice, even for those familiar with Indian food. Carol R-S, Plantation

I'm always on the hunt for another great restaurant especially one that caters to vegetarians. All the yelpers like this place so I thought I'd try it too...yelpers came thru. The food was delicious! I like eggplant & asked for a suggestion - Baingan Bartha. We also had Diwani Handi. Both dishes were full of flavor. I ordered mine medium & was it ever spicy. The decor needs improvement but thank goodness the food was worth the visit.

I'm going to skip right into their vegetarian buffet lunch. First thing that caught my interest were the metal trays they used for buffet. yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… Reminds me of the ones you seen in prison movies. Hmm.. Jeera Rice (Cumin Rice) and Sambar (Lentil Soup) yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… The Sambar is kinda blend and I forgot the taste, but I like the Jeera Rice. The fragrance makes it taste like a field of flowers in your mouth. Cabbage (curry) and Pav Bhaji yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… The Cabbage taste like... stir-fried cabbage with curry power that you buy @ Publix. I find it ok, just a tad oily. Pav Bhaji on the other hand is full of flavor. The sweet and sourness from the tomatoes, a bit of hot and spicy from the spices, I went back to get a lot more after trying it. I think you are suppose to eat it with bread(?), but there weren't any to be found. Chana Masala (Chickpeas) and Noodle(?) yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… The Chana Masala is no where near as thick as it suppose to be. It's more like a light flavored chickpea soup. The Noodle is like .. I don't know how to describe it. As if you ask an Indian (who never made/had marinara.) to make marinara, and the only clue they know is tomatoes, this probably would be it. Lemon Rice and Aloo Palak (Indian Potatoes & Spinach) yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… I like the Lemon Rice very much, it's lemony with a nice blend of spice. The Aloo Palak, by the time I got to it most of the potatoes are gone and it's a bit watery, didn't have 2nds. Black and Yellow Dal Makhani yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… Black is better than Yellow. Sorry, that's all I really remembered. I will go back to reconfirm the taste. Payasam and Carrot Halwa yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… These are actually desserts. Good thing I read it before I dump them all over my rice. My coworker describes Payasam as "hot liquid rice pudding". Ok, I added the 'hot liquid' part since it's soupy, but the rice pudding was really close. It also contained thin vermicelli and tapioca for texture. As for Carrot Halwa, that thing is pretty sweet and oily, it taste really good, especially with some Dosa they provide you. Dosa yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… They cook these separately and brings them to your table. The one I got is the size of my forearm! The crepe is slightly sweet and the potato inside matched pretty well. While it taste like good, it came out much later when we are almost stuffed with the buffet. Mango Lassi yelp.com/biz_photos/WvGB… taste the same as every other Indian restaurants around town, makes me wonder if they all buys some kind of powder mix to make them. Good thing It's all you can drink instead of $4.95 a glass. Since I'm not Indian and I've never been to India, so I can't judge this place for authenticity. As for my meat loving taste buds, they are happy. I would rate this place as a 3, but gave a 4 when compared to other vegetarian only options around town. If you ever decide to come to this place for lunch buffet, do not expect any kind of service. No one welcome us when we walked in, no one bring us to a table, no one asks us what we want to drink, no one asks us if we want buffet or menu, no one.. ok they did remove our plates, bought us water and dosa, ONCE, but no one brings us a check, we had to go up front.... But I don't care, food is great (for vegetarian) and that is all that matters.

Wow - This place is great! We went on a Saturday for their lunch buffet - husbands friend suggested we stop there so he was able to tell us about their selection. I'm used to Indian Palace on Griffin - Udipi makes IP look very bland. It really is for the older, fairer skinned american folk, who have never had Indian food before (no wonder my parents like it haha) One bite of the yellow rice and there were so many different spices. Not that it was burn my mouth hot, but it was just so flavorful! It was vegan - something that kinda dissapointed me when I looked online before going. After having the food, I don't care! There was no missing the meat at all. We got two crispy rolled things with some kind of patato thing in the middle. Very good. I think it's called a dosa. Husbands friend also ordered some fried bread - also amazing. Two different types of rice - not just bland basmati - they could have been eaten on their own. Lots of different curry's... the chickpea masala was my favorite. They had 3 desserts as well, the sponge cake I liked the best. I think if we want Indian food we might make the trek out again. It was so good and memorable.

Best Indian in South Florida and among the best Indian I've ever had anywhere. I highly recommend this place. It's in an unassuming strip mall but it's nice inside. Many options are labeled as vegan on the menu, although it's not comprehensive. For example, all dosai items are vegan except the one with paneer. Talk to the manager to find out the complete list of vegan items. I highly recommend the dosai, chana masala, and items 16 & 17.

This place isn't bad it's ok...you gotta get passed the one waitress, decor and the set up of this place. It is a vegetarian restaurant with food that is actually tasty. The owner is nice and makes food recommendations. I have been back several times. The experience is consistent. We have tried puri, batura and masala dosas. All that have been really good.

When you eat in any ethnic restaurant, like Chinese, Japanese, Indian etc., and most of the other diners are of that ethnicity - it means that not only is the food good but it's authentic. I think with the exception of one other table, all the diners were Indian and to us that means woo hooh, that's a home run. Even if they HADN'T been Indian, it wouldn't have made a difference because the food is just outstanding. Not only are they ANIMAL FRIENDLY (menu states that "No cruelty involved in preparation of your excellent meal" and that goes a long way to winning me over - as a vegetarian (a vegan who slips and eats fish sometimes and the occasional egg)), I struggle to find good vegetarian food, let alone an Indian restaurant with vegetarian food, let alone GOOD Indian food. So when we saw it on Check Please! we couldn't wait to try it - even though my husband is a meat eater, he is more than happy to support me and eat healthy and vegetarian from time to time, and as an Indian food lover - he also could not wait to try it. Easy to find, easy parking and a welcome host (the owner), we asked him for guidance for my husband, and he could not have been more helpful or more charming. He suggested dishes for us, and we ended up with the samosas (excellent - although I personally found them spicy, but hubbie didn't) - the Channa Batura, which came with chickpeas in a sauce - the Batura is a massive football size (and that's no exaggeration) fried bread, but tastes a tiny bit on the sweet side - it was delicious, but the owner did say to us "it is fried, are you OK with that?" - and we said we were - it was absolutely delicious! The chickpea curry that it came with was outstanding, and I had the Corn Palak, corn and fresh garden spinach in a light sauce (no cream or milk or dairy though) - which made it super healthy and the flavors were excellent - it was aromatic, tasty without being spicy and I had the mango lassi to accompany my meal, and that was just a taste of mango heaven. I have had excellent Indian food in my life, but have never had exclusively vegetarian Indian food - knowing that no matter what I chose, no animal was harmed or used or abused in the end result - that was just beyond peace of mind. I did miss having some chutney on the side (they didn't have chutney) as it would have soothed my palate after the samosas, but the owner brought me something else (he explained it was a dessert) - don't get me wrong, the samosas to 99% of the population won't be spicy - I just have an ultra sensitive palate, always have had, so the mildest things are spicy to me. The entrees, the chick peas and Corn Palak were well rounded, aromatic, delicious, without any hot spiciness but enough flavor that we both sat and oohed and aahed about it. FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS! I do want to try the lunch buffet - I'm always reluctant to try buffets anywhere because you never really know (or maybe it's that I never really trust) what you're digging into - but in this case, knowing that no matter what I am eating it is not going to be anything that had a face - I will happily and unreservedly dig in. I think that it's important to get guidance and ask the owner if you have any questions - I know I will take him to the buffet with me and ask him to explain every dish as I know he will be happy to. That makes the experience so much better - knowing exactly what you are eating. Oh - and no corkage fees if you bring your own beer or wine - we forgot to bring any, and hubbie went to cvs and got some beer - no problem at all - what an absolute delight. I cannot speak highly enough of the experience, the service, the flavors, the gentle thought that went into this whole restaurant, it is going to be on our list of regular go-to places. Thank you Udipi, you are a shining, gentle light in this savage, animal-oriented restaurant world. And my husband absolutely LOVED it too - he didn't miss eating chicken or steak at all - left feeling completely satisfied. It was one of the most healthy meals too - the Batura was our downfall, but the manager did warn us that it was fried. It wasn't greasy or anything like that - it was delicious and we did some serious damage to it (brought the rest home) - but next time we'll go for one of the baked whole wheat breads instead - although we may skip the bread altogether as the portions were more than enough to satisfy us. EXCELLENT!!!! Eat here with confidence, ask the owner if you have any questions at all, and enjoy an authentic Indian meal without any conscience (animal wise that is). LOVE IT.

I went for the lunch buffet and will be back! Forsure the food is vegetarian and full of flavor! Delicious. But,the reason I will not give this place 5 stars is because i went to the Lunch Buffet which may I add is a BANG for your buck and a great deal!couldnt be more then 8bucks all you can eat...but,They dont have labels on the food so i ate all this amazing food have know clue what its called..also,The waitress didnt even explain the tortilla/Fried bread thingy with potato...communication is key and our waitress was plain terrible we didnt even see a menu. =o/ I'm Not Indian I'm just open-minded..all in all service was a 2 because the waitress didnt speak to us at all,not even explain how to pay the check, but the food was a 10!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in South Florida, and indisputably my favorite Indian restaurant in Florida. When I am working in Sunrise I make an effort to visit here for their lunch buffet, and I have been here for dinner twice. The buffet is about ten dollars per head and is much more reasonably priced than the regular dinner menu, but your options will be limited by the staff's imagination for that day. The cuisine is South Indian, and as a lifelong carnivore, I am pleasantly surprised to enjoy their entirely vegetarian menu. I salivate just thinking about their saag paneer, and their curried lentils and channa aloo are amazing. Dosa are freshly made and usually complimentary with the meal. Their arrival during the meal depends on what time of day you arrived, and how busy things are at the restaurant. The owner and most of his staff are pretty great, and have been known to whip up small batches of dishes that are not on the menu or the buffet for regulars. They have had a few problems with being fully staffed at all times, as they had to reduce employee hours when nearby Motorola laid off much of their staff. They were a primary customer and the Cafe suffered for the loss of their large lunchtime crowd. As a result your waiter may also be your chef and your cashier, and if things get suddenly and unexpectedly busy, you may be in for a wait. Still the food is totally worth any wait.

You cannot beat this place for all you can eat vegetarian food, under 10$ during the week for lunch. I wish it was closer so I could enjoy it more.

Average to below average -- terrible owner. When we brought to his notice the poor quality of the buffet and service of his staff, he retorted back saying, "Dont come if you dont like the place". And today my wife fell sick after the food there !! AVOID THIS PLACE !! - Woodlands down the road has much better food

I agree the service at the restaurant is odd. We avoid having to deal with the servers by going only when the buffet is available. My mother 'tries' to order a soda with her lunch and it is always a struggle. As often as we have been there I can't tell if the servers don't speak English or there is an attitude issue. It's vexing but we choose to ignore it.

The first thing you notice when driving up to Udipi's door are the posters hanging in the window. "Gluten Free", "Kosher", "No butter, No Cream", "No MSG", and my fav..."a Cruelty Free Meal". You have to love a restaurant that hangs it all out there from the very start. I've been looking forward to this place since our Indian friends suggested we go there after my telling them about Udupi in Arcadia, CA. Although this place is not nearly as busy or crowded as Udupi, it does have a clear following; many who are clearly from India. We arrived around 12:30p, by 1:00p the place was filling up fast. And not without reason. First off for you buffet lovers - this is another great option. Me...I hate buffets and it nearly jaded my subjectiveness for a review. After a few deep breaths I took a plate and made my way through the line...all yummy and delicious. Dosas arrived at our table fresh and hot. Idilis were available by request. Is this the greatest food I've ever had - no. Will I come back - maybe. Is it worth the experience - yes! Nothing really stood out as fantastic, but the overall combined experience and the freshly painted walls and clean floors made this a solid choice to eat a meal.

We wanted to check out this vegetarian Indian place. It did have many choices for vegans as well. The buffet wasn't available, we ordered off the menu. Our meal was very good, the best was the Tofu Ya Aloo & Channa (tofu curry). The Yellow Dal (yellow lentils with tomatoes, onions spices) and the Chana Masala (chickpeas) were tasty. The service does leave a lot to be desired, in fact, the young woman who gave us our menus and water was plain rude! No greeting, no reply when thanked. The waiter was ok, as was the young man who gave us our check. It did take a while to get our meal despite this was on a Saturday around 5pm with just a handful of diners. It was, however, worth the wait. Overall, we would go back.

I absolutely love the lunch buffet at Udipi - There are so many delicious vegetarian dishes to sample. I have been here several times for the buffet, and once for dinner off of the menu. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my experiences at Udipi and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great vegetarian Indian meal.

Amazing food. Looks like a hole in the wall but seemed to be frequented by many Indians and once we tasted the variety of dishes, the authenticity was apparent. We had one of the dinners for one. It must have had 10 items and rice and two types of bread. Then we ordered an eggplant curry. Every last flavor was unlike any we've had... I'm a regular American eater and as I'm writing this I just remembered that this was vegan food - it's THAT good! After tax and tip it was $33.00 and I have plenty of leftovers! I'll be back many times.

Udipi cafe seems like one of those little hole in the wall restaurants in a tiny strip mall but don't be fooled, the food is great! I am not a vegetarian and the first time I came here it was with a friend who was a vegetarian and insisted I try it. Well, years later I'm an avid fan. I LOVE all the indian vegetarian dishes, yes, all of them except for the super spicy ones. I have only gone for lunch, they have a buffet and I always try a little bit of everything. I did find with some things it's an acquired taste if you're not used to it. Example: a dessert made from shredded carrots! I didn't think it was something I'd enjoy but somehow it went from being a little weird to amazingly delicious. Open up your mind and give this place a try. I've been going for years, service is friendly, I always see the same staff which has been there awhile. Keep in mind it is very filling, maybe its the carbs or fiber in all the beans and veggies, nevertheless go hungry! Lunch ends at 3pm so go before then. Also, I always notice this place is frequented by many Indian locals, a sign of authentic Indian food which I love!

We loved the food! Brought out newborn with us and she fell asleep to the sweet aromas of Indian spices. The different assortment of chutneys sauces brought us back to the days of traveling across the world and over the oceans! And of course, the people serving Us were very friendly too:)

Possibly the worst service I have ever had! We ordered food for the kids as soon as we walked in since they were really sleepy and hungry. The waiter didn't want to take the order early so we had to beg! Then, the kids' food were the last dishes to come out of the kitchen about 45 mins later! They kept coming out of the kitchen with food we be never ordered and forgot to bring what we did order. The last meal came out after everyone else was done eating. Then they put items on the bill that the waiter admitted he forgot to bring. I will never go back. The food wasn't great either.

WORST SERVICE. We ended up leaving before eating because the server/manager (not sure) wouldn't tell us what buffet items had gluten in them. My bf has celiacs and usually never has trouble with indian food, but he always needs to ask to be sure, so upon arrival, we were so excited to try the lunch buffet and asked the server to please tell us what is gluten free. He haphazardly pointed at a few things, then walked off. We were confused, and saw that he didn't point out the hamburger buns as having gluten or the cream of wheat, so we asked again if he could please tell us what had gluten/wheat/flour and explained why we needed to know. He started to get irritated and said that they couldn't guarantee anything and can't tell us all the ingredients for everything. That they've had problems before with people getting sick so he wouldn't risk it. My bf said, "I don't want to know all the ingredients, just what has wheat in it so I won't get sick. I'm not trying to make trouble." The server just walked off and went to the kitchen and didn't come out. I had already gotten a plate of food that I hadn't even touched, but at that point we knew he couldn't risk eating there so we decided to leave. I asked a different server, if I needed to pay for the plate I didn't touch and she didn't answer and kinda shrugged her shoulders and walked away. We waited for a couple minutes to try to pay for my un-eaten plate, and were ignored so we left. As we were getting in the car, the other server chased us out to make me pay for my plate. We immediately headed to Woodlands where the server happily told us what buffet items had wheat and had an AMAZING meal there. It's only a few blocks from Udipi, and you get a delicious buffet without the bad vibes.

I would have given 3.5 stars, but then I found pieces of metal in my food. I will never again eat here. There are other places to get good indian food. However, this incident tells me a lot about the food prep. Unfortunately, my first experience will also be my last.

Gotta upgrade this place! Not because the food got any better but for the service. I am by no means a regular maybe 3 or 4 visits a year but when I forgot my wallet it was no problem just pay us next time you come by ... No hassle at all

The food was pretty good. the ambiance was boring. The service so-so at best. The big problem was that they don't take American Express. Had i known that, I wouldn't have gone and won't go back. What restaurant doesn't take Amex these days. And.... this one is only 2 miles from over 3000 Amex employees in Fort Lauderdale! Time to go back to business school.

I can't decide which was worse, the service or the food. The food had no taste or was watered down. The service was horrible. The person taking the order didn't know the menu, brought out wrong things and part of our order never came. 2 of us got our food after the rest of our party was done eating. They had the nerve to charge us for something that they knew was not served, and when I pointed that out he said "ok fine I can remove that charge for you if you want me to"!!!! NEVER EVER GOING BACK AND YOU SHOULD AVOID IT TOO!

Oh Udipi- you have found a luncher in me! :) at lunch, they serve buffet style. and on Saturday, its only 9.95! for this great low price, you get the plethora of vegetarian indian food, and I hear it satisfies the Vegans as well. the best things I loved were the - mango lassi, right in the middle of the buffet table - chick pea curry. that was my favorite and each person that comes gets their own masala dosai. this large light semi crisp crepe, filled with some curry buttery potatoes. a pretty sweet deal! And well worth the visit.

Had dinner there last night like I do several times a month. Aside from a few dishes that contain cheese, this is the largest vegan menu in Broward with the exception of Sublime, of course. I have never had a bad meal there. Yes, I get what others have written about the service. It's different. But not in a bad way. Just don't expect "hi I'm Chad your server. Can I start you off with a cocktail" and you won't be disappointed. Yes, this place could use some updating and some might consider it a bit dive-ish - but dive-ish in a more "Food Network Diners, drive-ins and Dives" sort of way. Bottom line the curries are fantastic as are the dosais and the uthappams. Sometimes they even send out something extra to try! if you love Indian, are vegan (or Kosher) try this quirky, charming and authentic Vegan/vegetarian eatery. Life's an adventure.

O-I-L-Y Indian Veg! It used to be a tough call between Udipi and that other South Indian veg chain Woodlands (they're close to each other). But, sometime ago, Udipi's quality went down, mainly due to the food being so oily. We stopped going, but kept eating the food at parties; they seem to be the caterer of choice, even for parties in South Dade, though they don't deliver. Unfortunately, the food continues be too oily, which is too bad, because there is some good cooking underneath that greasiness - the entire gamut of South Indian veg cuisine, even Indo-Chinese (try the Gobi Manchurian). Hopefully, they'll ease up on the oil for the sake of their food - and our cholesterol.

The worst restaurant in South Florida and MUST be closed ASAP!!! Its a huge SHAME for the Indian community that this place is still in business. PLEASE, PLEASE and PLEASE-Stay away from this place. Its horrible both in service and food. People who say this is a good place to eat must be out of their mind . I will NEVER EVER go there again even if they paid me to come and eat! I took my friends there for dinner this week and I was ashamed of the food that was served and the rude behavior of the manager/ man who took our order. The price was exorbitant for such rotten food items. Mc Donald would have been a thousand times better choice for dinner than this place!! There is NOTHING authentic about the Indian vegetarian food in this place. It is prepared and served by African American cooks / servers not by an Indian cook/server and these individuals have no clue what they are preparing or serving. My dosa was burnt with, with stale potatoes in it and without tomato chutney. When asked for tomato chutney the server said "dosa is not served with tomato chutney but I will get toamto chutney for you IF you insist" and got chinese hot sauce for me!!! The idli was hard like a stone and the sambar served was definitely more than one week old. Coconut chutney had ZERO coconut in it- it tasted like white flour was added to it. It was THE WORST DINNER out I have ever had in my entire life. My friends are from NJ and were shocked that south FL has such terrible Indian restaurant in business. I can't even describe how embarrased I was that I chose this place to take my friends for dinner.

Had an amazing dinner here. I am the opposite of a vegetarian but it was phenomenal. The chai tea, lentil soup and Butter Masala! And a huge puffed roti looking thing. Yum yumz!! Going to try the lunch buffet next time.

It has been at least a good six months since I last had a taste of Udipi and we returned today for a lunch buffet.Pretty fortunate that it wasn't as packed when we arrrived but as soon as we started the crowd began streaming in endlessly. But despite how busy it is,our table were being minded by the attentive waiter-glasses were filled and pitcherr was topped up,used plates removed promptly and I am very impressed with the service today especially when there are only two waiters spotted on duty. I don't know if it is me or if anyone else likes the spicy fried rice they serve at their buffets, that stuff,no doubt potent ,is extremely addicting.I went back for more unable to refrain myself despite the low carb diet I currently observe.Putting on a few more pounds today is just so worth it,at least if theculprit is Udipi's spicy fried rice!

I had to give this place 5 stars because for Indian food, it is as good as it gets! I ate hear a few years ago and it was good, but nothing that left me craving it. Now, I think about it often and go when I get a chance. The food is now unforgetable. I don't know if they changed hands or just perfected what they were doing before, but what ever it is, it ROCKS. Being Vegan, it is so difficult to find trustworthy places to dine out. My boyfrined and a good friend of mine are meat eaters and they love this place too. The plaza is crappy and parking is tight, but don't let that deter you from the tasteful delights you will find inside. The servers are all very attentive and the flavors explode in your mouth. The portions are huge, so if I go for dinner and I am assured lunch the next day as well. I am a picky eater, but trust me when I say you will not be disappointed!

I'm anti buffets, so against them but some of my favorite Yelpers raved about this place and I had to try. We came here for lunch and there was a good amount of people, but it wasn't crowded. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. My meat loving husband was all about the food!
(3)
Marcela R.
I have to get my fix at least once a month, on the weekends of course. It is worth going to the buffet because aside from their amazing selection, each person is entitled to a dosa (which you can take home). There's very few places that I can say this about, but this place surely gets better every time! I'm an omnivore but you really won't miss meat!

I am decreasing a star for this place... Went here a second time before I left Lauderdale. however, this time I took some friends along. The food was great as usual. So, those reviews of mine are still accurate. But, we had to wait a really long time to get one extra dosa (rice crepe), some water to drink and masala tea. The waitstaff simply seemed to forget that we asked anything.

Thank you fellow Yelpers for putting us onto this place!! We were a little hesitant since it is vegetarian (and my husband is a meat-atarian). But, we are SOOOO happy we decided to give it a try. The food is so very tasty - my favorite was definitely the garlicky chick pea curry!! I think about it often :) There is a wonderful variety of flavors in the buffet and the dosa is a wonderful added touch! My daughter loved the rice there and the mango lassi. I can't wait to go back! It's a MUST try for anyone who loves Indian and for those who have always wanted to try Indian but weren't sure where to go or what to eat. This place will make you a believer!

This place is truly a find! I had noticed Udipi before on my many drives through Plantation but I never ate here until this past weekend. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and full of flavor. The buffet was one of the best I've seen of the Indian persuasion, lots of different things to choose from, all of them vegetarian (not vegan). I would definitely recommend, go here for lunch!! You'll definitely get your money's worth

I hve had Indian food in many cities and many countries (although not India, as yet) and this has to be one if the best! I was so pleasantly suprised. The decor was only so so and I my expectation was low but as soon as the food started coming my opinion skyrocketed. We had like 5 dishes and appetizers which totalled less than $80 for 6 of us plus they let us bring our own wine. Highly reccomended.

I found this restaurant on yelp. We couldn't go in until 5:30, that's the time that dinner begins. We ordered an appetizer and a one person meal. I thought my friend and I could handle it, but we were wrong. The amount of food given is ridiculous, but it's very good! We liked the dosa! Only thing is that some of the dips tasted the same. Other than that good service and very tasty Indian food...I can still smell the curry ;)

Udipi is run by a family from Karnataka, and the food is deliciously South Indian and 100% vegetarian, but don't let that dissuade you meat eaters. It is also very savory and delicious. Lunch Buffet for $7 with a lot of stuff that you won't find at your run-of-the-mill Indian joint including iddly, dosai, pani puri (!), and some of the best coconut chutney I've had in South Florida. It's a long drive from Miami, but it is worth it if you are in the area for some reason, for example, to visit the Shiva Vishnu temple (who get their event catering here) or alligator alley or your grandma in the old-folks home in Plantation.

We were here a few weeks back looking to reacquaint ourselves with the Udipi Cafe, after moving into the neighborhood. While the menu was a close match to the chain's sister location from Atlanta, we were nowhere near as impressed by the quality of the food. To be fair, we ordered non-traditional food this time round (chaat - bhel puri and dahi puri) and that might be the reason why it didn't meet our expectations. However, if they have it on their menu (and they are a chain known for having a huge menu with a lot of options - both south Indian and north Indian), they better know how to make it. NOT SO. The bhel puri turned out to be a drab affair with a medley of sauces that resulted in a taste nowhere close to the original...so much so that I became convinced the person who had cooked it that day had never tasted real bhel puri in his life! The dahi puri turned out to be even stranger in some ways since instead of the normal flat and crispy puris, soaked in curd with a variety of flavors, what we received was a plate of the hollow spherical puris (the ones normally used for pani puri) with a separate filling of buttermilk like liquid and a "masala" sauce that almost definitely came out of a grocery store jar! The service was ok - there were a bunch of people standing around but they weren't really efficient since we had empty glasses for a while and actually had to call someone over for a refill of the water. I was actually momentarily impressed when one of the folks waiting the table (there were at least 4 people involved, so am not sure exactly how they divided their attention) saw the leftover food and asked if something was wrong. After learning about the issue with the taste of the bhel puri, he said he would go check in the kitchen. However, he completely ignored us after that! In short - very disappointed!

We were there for buffet lunch. Arrived right before noon and within 10 minutes the place was packed. Most customers looked Indian which I took as a good sign. Service, as previosuly mentioned in other reviews, is strange. Someone seats you and brings a pitcher of water and then you're pretty much on your own. The food was tasty, some was spicy and some wasn't. None of the dishes were labelled so I couldn't tell you what I ate, only that I tried everything and it was all good. The carrot dessert was my favorite. Not sure I would drive all the way up here from Miami for the lunch buffet again, but for $11 I'm glad I tried it.

I'm kind of obsessed with this place. I have gone through phases of driving 45 minutes every single weekend for at least two months straight to gorge myself on their fantastic Indian buffet (all you can eat!). I dream of this place being closer to me and open 24 hours. Ahhhhh.... heaven! The food is outstanding. The staff is nice and friendly. Highly recommended!

very poor service. rude staff act like they're doing you a favor. turned off by the service, we just got a mango lassi to go, it was actually pretty good. looks like other yelp-ers did the lunch buffet and that turned out to be good. my recommendation would be for dinner - terrible service, which for us was a no-go.

the food at udipi is pretty good, however, the service leaves much to be desired. if you are willing to endure a long wait to place your order and not receive much service, then it is worth a try-- the food is quite good :)

India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

Very bad service!! Says does not only serve chai and appetizers when half of the menu is appetizers like dosa and pain puri, bhel puri.....ect...

Decent veg lunch buffet!!! Channa masala, sambar are awesome.. Vide variety of menu!!
(4)Eliana M.
Delicious authentic Indian food, friendly service, beautifully calm atmosphere. LOVE that the menu is clearly labeled vegetarian/vegan, and there are SO many different things to choose from.
(5)Kasey B.
Great vegetarian food!!! This company has some of the best indian food stateside. Vegetarian or meat eaters will love this place. The food is authentic and flavorful. Prices are reasonable and service is great. Forget the rest, eat here and thank me later!

AAAAA+++++
(5)Faith E.
I love this place! Good food at good prices. I come for the lunch buffet whenever I'm in the area. Always a nice variety of choices. Sometimes a little hotter spiciness than I like, but always flavorful and satisfying.
(5)Yashwanth K.

(1)Laurie B.
My son and I ate here and the food was excellent! I had a panner dish, he had one that included tofu. Both uniquely different tasting though looked similar. We also got a panner dosa, equally delicious. Service was perfect, food delightful, please try this place out. I believe they also have a lunch buffet.
(5)Sebastian V.
Frankly the best, most delicious, authentic Indian food in south Florida. Don't get put off by how the place looks the food is amazing!!! The seasoning is perfect and the service is great. You won't regret it!!!
(5)Ramya R.
Unhealthy. Not tasty. The idli and vada tasted frozen. The Chinese dishes were soaking with oil. The service was terrible. Our waiter walked away from the table for 5 minutes mid order. It took him 20 mins after we got there to attend to us and then he left us mid order!
(1)Prshant B.
(1)Kotori B.
(2)Simm G.
Came on a Saturday so many choices awesome food I was also surprised today that there was my favorite chai tea and Mango Lassi too ! All in all - an awesome Buffet ! Udipi offers the best Indian food anywhere around !
(5)Adam B.
Every time I eat at Udipi, the food is excellent! Most of the time I come for the buffet for the variety, however the Thali is where I get my variety fix when there is no buffet. Great food! I'll continue coming back, for sure!
(5)Rob G.
I love a GOOD curry and this place delivers -- It's basic inside - no meat in sight but that doesn't matter when the food is put on the table it's MMmmmmmm.
(5)Priya M.
(5)Roberto B.
(2)Chris R.
Excellent, authentic Indian food, for an incredible price. The service was a little weird, but pretty much everything else about this restaurant makes up for it. I'll be back, frequently.
(5)Foodie G.
(2)Stephanie W.
Udipi is the only Indian restaurant I frequent these days... Mainly because I'm vegan and don't want to ask a million and one questions at a non-vegetarian Indian joint! Try the samosa chaat, cauliflower 99 & the yellow dal. Thank me later!
(5)Mark G.
Haven't been here in 7 months. Happy to say the food is as good as ever.....!!! My mouth is watering for more!!
(5)Nicole H.
I love this place. My favorite Indian restaurant in south florida. I'm a vegetarian and i love that i can just order and not asked is there meat in this dish. Everything I've ever had was great. And don't forget to order the puffy bread!!!!!!
(5)Steve K.
(3)Kristin W.
The place was just very odd. We went there for lunch. It's set up as a buffet style. I had no idea what I was eating because nothing had a description on it. The food was bland. I guess it's good if you are a vegetarian and you aren't picky. Also, the staff, not very friendly.
(1)Ryan M.
Enjoy.
(5)Lacey C.
(3)Peggy R.
(5)Sam V.
(5)Nicole H.
went here for lunch after seeing their review on the show "check please". the hostess was very rude and unpleasant, she looked at us like we were crazy when we asked if they had anything to drink! she also said they had no menu for lunch time, and it is "only buffet". we headed to the buffet and most of the bins were empty and nothing looked appetizing at all. I was so excited to come here after seeing them on the show, but instead ended up so embarrassed that I brought my family here. needless to we left without getting any food. never coming back here again and drove 15 miles to this restaurant for nothing.
(1)Pradeepa K.
Usual veg indian buffet. They have couples of good dishes but not as the usual udupi cafe.
(3)Suki E.
Really great find! Total vegetarian, well-cooked, delicious Indian food. The atmosphere is not that great, but the food is well worth it. We tried the batura bread and it was huge and so yummy. I highly recommend this place!
(4)Sarah B.
Best Indian restaurant I have been to. I am ruined now and can only eat Indian food here! Only vegetarian food but you don't even miss meat when it's so amazing! Love love love!
(5)James S.
(3)Joyce H.
Highly recommend this lunch buffet. Every dish is unique and delicious! Great for vegetarians and kosher as well. My sister and her family visiting from Israel absolutely loved it!!!!
(5)Jigar P.
(1)C f.
One of my new fav places! love the lunch buffet. had no idea what I was eating but that was the fun of it! it wasn't all spicy and a few dishes had medium spice which is perfect for this American girl! Service was good but nothing to brag about! will definitely be back.
(4)Thivi E.
(1)A. C.
Been here any number of times and always have left happy! Full vegetarian! Their buffet is huge with so many different items to choose from. Everything was wonderful. I will say it again- Everything was wonderful!!! Service was nice, friendly and helpful. I ate too much- Thank You Udipi!
(5)Kang c.
(5)Carol R.
(5)Jodi C.

(4)Howie R.
Always great food, one waitress was completely not happy to be there, but normally the service is amazing.
(4)Shan W.
(5)Vegan B.
(5)James F.

(5)Vivek S.
(1)Jeanne T.

(3)Amber M.
Went there for their lunch buffet which was reasonably priced. Food was great! Loved the entirely vegan menu :)
(5)Laura S.
(5)Matthew G.
(5)Udhaya J.
Excellent Veg food. Nice ambiance. Order chilli pakoras you will enjoy. Dosa was great.

(5)Danny M.
We loved the food! Brought out newborn with us and she fell asleep to the sweet aromas of Indian spices. The different assortment of chutneys sauces brought us back to the days of traveling across the world and over the oceans! And of course, the people serving Us were very friendly too:)
(5)Mona G.

(1)Stuart G.
Gotta upgrade this place! Not because the food got any better but for the service. I am by no means a regular maybe 3 or 4 visits a year but when I forgot my wallet it was no problem just pay us next time you come by ... No hassle at all
(5)Ameet S.
(1)Indian T.
(1)Marcelo F.
The food was so good I completey forgot about the world while eating. 1st time there so cant remember the name of my dishes but Ill be a regular there for sure!
(5)judy n.
(4)Janis R.
(4)Monika K.
I didn't even notice meat was missing. everything was delicious and fresh. ordered a handful of things, masala dosai, chickpea curry and some others.. cant remember the names off the top of my head. def a must try, meat eater or not!

(1)Aaron N.

(5)Monish P.
Bad service. Good food. Pointy fingers. Bad dressing. Worth the money.
(3)Parichehr M.
Best vegeterian Indian food!!! Worth the trip!
(5)Michelle S.
(5)Annie A.
I'm anti buffets, so against them but some of my favorite Yelpers raved about this place and I had to try. We came here for lunch and there was a good amount of people, but it wasn't crowded. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. My meat loving husband was all about the food!
(3)Marcela R.
(5)sri n.
(3)Jocelyn J.
(4)Kerry C.
Best Indian vegan buffet of all time!!
(5)Adina F.
(4)B W.
(5)Alexandra N.
(3)Adam O.

Not sure I would drive all the way up here from Miami for the lunch buffet again, but for $11 I'm glad I tried it.

what a mistake . my husband was craving for good indian food we just move from los angles . we know about good indian food. we order masala dosa and mango shake . first of all service was terrible and was horrible . my food has long female HAIR . when we told the owner ,s attitude was really bad. i will not go there ever. what a ugly experience .

(5)Srini M.
very poor service. rude staff act like they're doing you a favor. turned off by the service, we just got a mango lassi to go, it was actually pretty good. looks like other yelp-ers did the lunch buffet and that turned out to be good. my recommendation would be for dinner - terrible service, which for us was a no-go.
(1)jillian c.
the food at udipi is pretty good, however, the service leaves much to be desired. if you are willing to endure a long wait to place your order and not receive much service, then it is worth a try-- the food is quite good :)
