Changing my original review. Posted for the wrong pita place as their names are very similar. This location is pretty good and the customer services is good

Excellent service! The guy behind the counter made my sandwich so good. He gave me the breakdown on all the different toppings. He took his time to explain all the different toppings! Falafel pita- Was perfect! Tahini sauce was 5 stars, so delicious! It was my first time & I plan on returning later this week!

I stopped here because of all the 5 star reviews. I must have hit them on a bad night because my dinner was bland as bland could be. I had a chicken shawarma loaded with all kinds of toppings. It was so bland, I almost added salt. I was hoping for lamb, but they were out. Really, it was a Monday night, how are you out of lamb already? The staff was really nice and appreciative!

I went to this place because of the overwhelming number of 5 star reviews. I'm either much pickier than you guys, or all you 5 star reviewers haven't had true 5 star meals. This place was average at best. I don't mean to say that the food was not good, but it was definitely not 5 star food. I probably won't go back though because there are better Greek/Mediterranean food spots in the area. Prepare to enjoy your meal, but also prepare to be disappointed that it is not a 5 star meal. I felt obligated to write this review so some of you foodies don't go through what I went through.

Oh my goodness... I'm addicted to that place. The service is great and the food is even better Sooooo delicious. The place is spotless. I fell in love.

This place is ALWAYS CONSISTENTLY AMAZING! I've gotten pretty much everything on the menu. The owners are very cool and hands on. My favorite is the shwarma pita. Well done fries. I'd take a picture but I inhaled it. Lol

My favorite of the pita joints I have been to in SoFla, and hands down my favorite kosher spot in Broward. I have been coming here for years and I have to say that it's all about the Shawarma for me. While there literally is something for everyone here, the food is delicious and the portions have always been solid and fair. There are plenty of sauces to try, hummus, tabouli, etc. I would suggest them for lunch or dinner. It's an unassuming little spot that would easily be glossed over but don't judge this book by it's cover as you'll be missing out on your next new favorite.

We were warmly greeted the second we walked into this hidden gem. Very friendly staff, each one wore a smile and seems happy to work there. They also provide fast service, which is perfect for the weekday lunch crowd needing to get back to the office. Food is fresh and absolutely delicious. Love how the flavors mix up in the warm, fluffy pita. The Shawarma pita hit the spot, I got it spicy which was just enough heat, also got eggplant, carmelized onions, tabouleh, hummus, and tahziki sauce - amazing combo. But I have a feeling, at this place, no matter what you put on it your meal will rock. Just writing this review makes me want to drive 30 minutes to get me some shawarma.. Well deserving of five stars in my book (and apparently to 97 others). Worth checking out.

  • Joe P.

Amazing food, authentic and great service. Food was fresh and delicious. Josh made me one of the best gyros I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this place.

  • Tara P.

L O V E these guys! Always on point and consistent. Food is always fresh, and delicious. The guys that run this spot is so freaking nice, and just after the first time going there they remembered my, and my boyfriends order to the tee. I've had and ate at many pita and falafel spots in South Florida and let me tell you these guys will not disappoint! They want you to be happy and try new flavors. They're always asking if we want to try this sauce or that on the side. I don't know about these other negative reviews on here... maybe they're haters or the competition who is scared for their wits because Pita Plus is superb!!! The food is always full of flavor, service is fantastic & friendly, place is clean and I always look forward to coming here on my lunch! See you guys soon!

  • Cori C.

Simply the best. The food is so authentic, not to mention delicious. The owner is incredibly friendly and makes you feel so welcome and at home. The falafel and shawarma are the best around. No contest. Don't miss this place!

So first thing that impressed me was the fact that as of the writing of this review, Pita Plus has a 5 star rating with 58 reviews. That is not an easy feat. We decided to drop in on the pita plus after reading the rave reviews. So to the point, We order a Falafel Sandwich, a Vegetarian plate of salads, a chicken kabob and some chicken tenders. All the food was excellent, made to order - the hot stuff, and plentiful. There is also a "Pickled Bar" with my faves, pickled eggplant, pickled cabbage and pickled turnips. The Pita served with the plates and the sandwiches was perfectly fluffy and easy to open for stuffing. Of course being able to talk to the guys in Hebrew is always a plus, I dont get alot of that in Central Texas. Dont let the location fool you, some good eats up in this joint. Yalla Habibi - Make you way there... you will love it. Toda Raba - Pita Plus!!!!!

  • Wendy A.

Excellent service and inviting atmosphere. The portions are very big. I had the shawarma plate and was able to eat only half. Amazing baba ghanoush, roasted eggplant and grape leaves. I can't rave enough about this place. Best middle eastern fast food I've had!!!!

  • Derek R.

This is such an awesome place! I ordered a mix plate, which is supposed to be chicken, steak and lamb, but I don't eat lamb so of course, I asked for chicken and steak only. I really was tempted to try the swarma though! It looked amazing lol. The swarma (not sure I spelled it right) is like a...gigantic roll of meat that's a mix between lamb and chicken. It just looks all sorts of amazing! There's a free salad bar, I love the sauerkraut! After you order the food, the guys behind the counter walk you through the Pita Plus experience. "You like hummus? You like...______ ______?" The blanks stand for things I heard but can't spell to save my life. Besides, I was a little busy drooling at the selection in front of me. Everything looked fresh and just BEAUTIFUL. The food? Oh my goodness, like fireworks going on in my mouth lol. I'm a little crazy about pita so it could just be the child inside of my head dancing and prancing but you really gotta try this place. The price is very reasonable, the portion is HUGE and the cozy environment is just an added bonus. Super friendly people, great food, indoor and outdoor sitting, it's a wonderful addition for any time of the day!

I would really rate this place a 4.5 but service is just so phenomenal I had to bump it up! My boyfriend and I pass this place all the time but have never been here, because we have a favorite place further down the street. But we decided to switch it up this past Sunday and try a new place. I am very glad I did. It is just as good as our usual place but the food and environment are different (in a good way). This place is less busy and service is more attentive. The food was fresh and served quickly with a positive attitude. My bf got the shawarma, which was very flavorful and oozing with juices. It is made of a combination of lamb and chicken. I got the falafel combo platter, which was also good but on the smaller size. They did not skimp on the sides! Also, you can get stuff from the pickle bar at no additional cost. The tomato with pepper sauce was really tasty. I said I didn't want any of it but he let me sample it and I quickly changed my mind. I would skip the coleslaw though as it was pretty bland.

  • Cedy H.

I never had a pita or anything Mediterranean before coming here. The pitas are very soft and fresh. I've tried a falafel, chicken and tuna pita. All I absolutely loved. The expresso is delicious as well. The service is quick on a busy day in the afternoon. The ingredients are fresh all day even at night. Great food, served by great people.

  • John S.

This place is so freaking good. Get a pita, put everything on it, don't question it. Done!

  • J R.

After seeing their perfect 5 star review on here, I was excited to try some authentic Israeli falafel in Florida. They make everything fresh when you order and cook it right in front of you. The guys working there were beyond kind and welcoming, and I am pleased to say that the falafel may even better than what you can get in Israel. Excellent selection of toppings and pickled vegetables, too.

    (5)
  • Deb D.

Oh, this is the best. A must to anyone looking for food that mirrors that of Israel.

  • Laura G.

I'm always looking to try new food when I'm back in FL and Pita Plus was on my list for a while. UnfortunateIy, I was thoroughly underwhelmed with my meal at Pita Plus. I came in around lunchtime and ordered a shawarma (chicken and lamb combo) pita. You'd think that it'd be bursting with flavor since I added the sauce, "salad" topping, the taboule salad, and the cabbage mix into it, but when I bit into my pita, it tasted extremely...bland. The employees were friendly, but I was not thrilled with their procedures. Despite it being counter service, they prefer that you pay after you're done eating, which was kind of annoying considering I didn't enjoy the meal I just ate and then had to be reminded as I swiped my card after the fact. They also don't have a soda machine, so if you're frugal like me and used to just drinking tap water, be prepared to by a bottle. Overall, an average experience and certainly not worth the hype or fanfare.

  • Jo W.

Upon entering Pita Plus, you feel welcomed! The guy working the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating, making suggestions and letting me taste certain menu items. I decided to get a Beef Shish Kabab Sandwich and I hate when I say this, because eventually I will likely go someplace and say this again, but this was the best Pita sandwich I have ever had in my life and I can bet that at least in Broward, this is the top spot. The meat was way better quality than most, moist and flavorful. The other awesome thing about this place, is that the additions are plenty and you can load your sandwich up with whatever you like. I also had an order of Falafel. The name says it all, go for the Pitas but the other stuff is pretty good too.

  • Danielle Y.

Read the reviews on Yelp & decided to try Pita Plus. Drove to Pita Plus on a Saturday & they were closed. The guy making the pita was very friendly. My boyfriend ordered the shurma pita & I ordered the chicken pita. He shaved the shurma & cooked the chicken right in front of us. All of the ingredients were fresh. I really enjoyed the toppings & vegetables. Everything about Pita Plus was authentic.

Went here for the first time today with my family and it was amazing. I love the curry sauce they have. The owner was very helpful and friendly. I had the falafel pita with pretty much everything on it. The portions are huge (at least for me I couldn't finish) which is awesome because they don't skimp you. It was the best I've ever had. Definitely coming back to try everything on the menu. It's a small place but there is seating inside and out. It's a perfect place to grab a bite to eat. Love it!

    (5)
  • Lee Z.

The food was very tasty and the service was phenomenal. I hope they keep it consistent. Will be going back. I have to remember that they are not open on Saturdays.

Did you ever have one of those lunch emergencies where it's far past the time when normal people eat lunch, you are approaching the dinner/rush hour, but you still need to find something to eat (Linner) before your hypoglycemia kicks in and you quite literally pass out on the ground? That was me earlier this week. 95 degrees out. Terribly hungry. Searching Yelp frantic for some healthy, quick food options. Enter: Pita Plus, my knight in shining armor, to slay my hungry dragon. After seeing the other stellar reviews, I looked no further and set my GPS to find this place. I found a parking spot in the shade (score) and made a run for the entrance in the strip mall. I was greeted by the (very cute) owner who asks me if it's my first time there and takes a minute to explain the menu to me. With one look at the fixins station behind their counter, I could tell this stuff was fresh and made from scratch. I browsed the menu overhead and was torn between a falafel sandwich and the shawarma. I confessed this to Mr. Owner and he's like "oh, you want to try some falafel? Here, let me make you some so you can try them." Seriously?! How awesome. He tossed a small order in my bag and didn't charge any extra. I decide on the chicken shawarma which is layered chicken and lamb pieces, heavily spiced and topped with whatever items you want from the fixin station - babaganoush, hummus, tahini, tzatziki, chopped tomato/cucumber etc. I said yes to everything which made the sandwich look like Lindsay Lohan after an all night bender (one hot mess). More icing on the cake - each order includes a nice selection of free pickled items from the pickle bar - baby eggplant, turnips, garlicky carrots, pepperoncinis, cabbage - all amazing. For $8.25, I walked out of this place with enough good homecookin' to feed me for 3 days. I wish there were more places like this in my neighborhood that still care about serving quality food for a quality price. Not that Pita Plus needs another five-star review, but they've certainly earned it.

  • Danny S.

This place is awesome!!! SERIOUSLY!! I'm very picky when it comes to falafel and hummus ... Went with an Israeli and an Arab friend..... They both agreed best they've tasted in Florida .. We also had unlimited salad stuffings... All in all, I'm in love with this place ... And the owner is a hunk from Israel lol... Hot hot hot!!! Like some of the selections. Lol .. But don't tell him or his wife I said that lol.... The place doesn't look like much from outside and inside is real simple and not special - but once you taste the food you'll back!!

    (5)
  • Jenny T.

I had the falafel sandwich and it was AMAZING! Really one of the best I've had. Service is great, they are so nice. Going to try out their Aventura location since it's closer.

We were in town visiting for an unfortunate family event and were looking for somewhere to grab a sandwich. We can across this place via yelp and gave it a try based on previous reviews. Spot on. This is not a deli/subway they have Pitas with meats and non meat options that everyone really enjoyed. The two gentleman working that afternoon explained our options and how to put a good pita together. They stated they have owed it for 4.5 years and you can tell they are very dedicated to their job and love the place. We were a party of 7 and everyone loved their pita with the various options of what to put in them. I would recommend this place to grab a bite at!

It is hard to tell which is better here, the service or the food. Both are of the highest level and both will leave you feeling more than satisfied! The atmosphere is extremely friendly and the staff makes every effort to ensure that every customer is treated like a good friend or family member. Many of the customers have become this, and the staff will remember many people and what their favorite dish is, or what they most recently ordered. The service is supreme. The food is indicative of the service, in that it is clear that the staff takes pride in the good. You will not find generic tasting food here. This stuff will amaze you time and time and time again. Caution - it will become an addiction! There is variety so that you can always try something new. Or stick with an old favorite, it does not get boring. The knowledge of the staff will always lead you in the right direction if you are having trouble making a decision. If you have already been here, then a review is not necessary as you will know first hand how great it is. If you have not, then you owe it to yourself to take a lunch break over here. You will be glad you did!

Two thumbs up! I've lived in the area for many years and always wanted to try this place and I'm so glad I finally did. The guys were super friendly, inviting, and the atmosphere was very laid back. Food was AMAZING! I've never had shawarma before but it was delish plus their homemade tahini was the bomb! (Send a girl the recipe would ya!?!?) Would definitely return. Maybe they'll let me shave the meat next time!

SO glad to see all the five-star reviews for this little "hole in the wall" type place, I was in the mood for some healthy, fresh food, so I googled "greek food" and Pita Plus looked like the best option. But this isn't Greek food - it's Israeli - the healthiest and most delicious food (or at least among the healthiest and most delicious food) in the world. I asked the man behind the counter for a vegetarian plate, which consisted of humus, tahini, babaganoush and several different kinds of salad and some choices I cannot explain other than to say this is authenic Israeli food. He also heated up two gigantic pita breads ... there was enough food to feed two people, but I was alone,so I took most of it home with me. As others have commented - the service is first class. And there's a free pickle bar - pickled turnips, cabbage, and some other treats that compliment the food. And for people who are not vegetarians, they have souvlaki and chicken dishes that looked amazing. If I lived here, I would go once a week, and bring everybody I know. Who doesn't like fresh, healthy, delicious AUTHENTIC Middle Eastern food!

  • Sinead P.

I had the falafel pita and I must say its the best I've had in South Florida. The restaurant is very small but the food makes up for it. Everything is fresh and delicious. They even have a free salad bar with pickled veggies. Customer service was great!

    (5)
  • Erica B.

Pita Plus was excellent. they catered two events for us that were amazing. they not only were professional and curious but gave us extra of everything and worked out the best possible and affordable options for us. much better than the competitors and will do future business with them.

  • RJ T.

Excellent service , authentic & fresh taste and friendly staff. Definitely will be returning if not on this trip when I'm back next time. Josh behind the counter explains clearly what all the fresh goodness is that's going to accompany your falafel, shawarma or kebab. Even the guy from the back who came out was friendly . I went with the shawarma sandwich as I've been craving a good one for the last few weeks and the mrs got the falafel. Shawarma was chicken and lamb and the meat was perfectly cooked. Needless to say there was limited conversation during this meal. All the ingredients tasted fresh and authentic and the pickle bar is a bonus. Do not hesitate to try this place especially if shawarma is the calling. Can't wait to try some of the other items.

  • Sean V.

The second you walk in, you're greeted by the warmth of the oven roasting the Shirama and by the warmth of the employees. Pita Plus understands the value of their customers, they live to serve you, and they go above and beyond to ensure your happiness. If this wasn't already enough to make you want to return, the food is amazing. Everything is made fresh every morning, the meats are cut right in front of you, and served tender and moist. Pita Plus has gained a life long customer with me, the best Pita in Florida.

  • Jonathan O.

Easily the best tasting, healthiest restaurant in the Plantation/Sunrise area. The food is fresh and made to order, and the staff is terrific. I recommend the Shwarma, can't go wrong!!

  • Grantley Matthew A.

I found it! The new "go to" spot (well they've been there for 5 years). Went there for the first time today. Was extremely happy when I saw the fresh chicken breast being cooked right there on the stove in front of me. The people are friendly, service was great. Nothing short of awesome. I love hole in the wall/mom and pop spots that are good at what they do. They exceeded my expectations. Try them out!

If you haven't eaten here, YOU NEED TO! Amazing food, great service and huge portions. Simply the Best!! You will not be disappointed!!!

  • Porfirio G.

Great service from the owner and amazing food for the low $! If you're in the area stop in and tell them to give you what PAM gets!

  • Lissette P.

I'm not an expert on falafel or pita places but the falafel here was on point. All the products were super fresh and the falafel was fried on the spot so you're not getting an old and soggy ball of ground veggies. The dude behind the counter (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name) was really friendly and accommodating. My fiancé and I weren't sure of what to get so he helped us out and didn't disappoint. So if you're ever in Lauderhill and want a delicious kosher meal do yourself a favor and visit Pita Plus.

  • Emily L.

So after looking online for an authentic pita place, my husband and I decided to try this place out. Yeah, pretty much amazing in every way. The inside is small and simple, but the food is so ridiculously fresh and flavorful. My husband has the shawarma and I had the grilled chicken pita. The topping are plentiful and only add to the deliciousness of the chosen meat. This is something that I could eat daily and you can tell it's pure, clean eating too. Think I found a new favorite. If you want something really good, really easy, and really natural, go go go.

  • Debbi N.

This place is the real deal. The guys behind the counter besides being totally adorable are helpful and welcoming. The place is a dive but the food is healthy and fresh. Delicious salads and falafel and yummy hummus. It's kosher too. Oy vey!! And the price is right. Check it out. I'll be back. Next week.

Love, Love, Love This Place... Haven't Been In A Few Months, And Fell In Love With It Today All Over Again!!! Hands Down Best Falafels EVER!!! I have tried other places in the area, but NOTHING could keep me from coming back to Pita Plus!!! They have the best Eggplant with Tomatoes, Turkish Salad, Baba Ganoush, Hummus, Grape Leaves and the already mentioned Fantastic Falafels!!! Prices are great and the owner Chen always makes you feel right at home... My favorite choice is either the Falafel or Chicken Platter... I have tried several of the menu items including the tuna and chicken cutlet as well, and have never been disappointed. If your ever in the area this place is a MUST TRY!!!

Great owner and delicious food! Will be coming here regularly! The falafel is very fresh and seasoned perfectly.

  • Steve P.

Love this place. Chicken is outrageous. When you get the platter, you get to load up on all the sides. Cheap, plentiful, and incredibly tasty. As good as it gets. GO!

    (5)
  • Valerie S.

We come here often, almost weekly. The food is fresh and flavorful. Shen is always there and he talks with all the customers and creates a very welcoming & local atmosphere. We see regulars there every time. Highly recommend the shawarma plate and the falafel is perfect.

    (5)
  • Lisa C.

Pita express was delicious! The guy running the show was very nice and well versed. He knew most of the people coming in and so it means a lot of people do come back. He explained the ordering process well. I had the shawarma, chicken and falafel. It was chipotle style where you can choose all the sauces and topping you want. All the ingredients were fresh! There is a vegetable bar as well on the side of the register (jalapeños, onions). The place is very clean and well kept. The place could be bigger. It felt a little cramped. We would come back!

  • Rich H.

Incredible place. ...everything I have had has been amazing. The only thing better than the food is the service. Completely personal approach. Owner is a young enthusiastic guy who tries to remember every customer and what they like to eat. When I asked what he recommended he had immediate responses and was so helpful... this reminds me of the way a lunch time eatery should be. Tasty fresh food and a thankful, helpful, friendly focus...

  • Howard R.

Great people and food. Very accommodating, wonderful salads. Free pickle bar with meal. The falafel and salad with tons of hummus and tahini. I did not want it to end.

  • Ilya D.

Came here not expecting much but was very happy with the service and the food. Spicy sauce was very good and Schwarma was delicious. If kosher is a must then this is the place to go.

    (5)
  • David M.

Very friendly staff and great food, what is not to like?! I would recommend the schwarma, but the falafels are really good. They come with a toasted pita bread and the staff was happy to give me a second pita for free when I requested. The prices are really reasonable as well.

  • Fausto M.

Great service , great portions, and great food, what else can you ask for? Keep up the great work.

  • Jahmila B.

I've passed this place many times and finally decided to stop for dinner one night. Everything looked good and I couldn't decide. The man behind the counter suggested his version of "surf and turf" (steak and tuna) to the customer before me. I decided to try it as well. All the individual components were tasty but together it was delicious. The hummus was very good. I will be back for sure!

    (5)
  • Charles L.

This place is amazing. Keep coming back for the hummus, falafel and shawarma. And the service is top notch. We come in every month or so and the owner still remembers our order.

  • Shlomy H.

Top shawarma place in town, I've tried them all but nothing compares to this one. And the staff is so friendly! As soon as I walk in I get greeted as if I'm a long time friend of 20+ years! This will be my new favorite place for a while

    (5)
  • Michelle M.

This place is one of those Mom and Pop Gems! No expectation other than really great food. Don't have to be into middle east food to find something you will enjoy here! Anything from Falafels to Sharwama or just a simple Tuna Pita. Everything is home made. Excellent if you are a vegetarian or on a Dairy free diet, even better if you are a carnivore. The staff is always excellent and always cater to what you want. They'll even mix stuff that's not on the menu. Love love this place! and the more i go, the more i try to drag my friends to try!

  • Brad S.

Fried falafel fresh as you order - all the salads and humus are extremely fresh. Guys running the place are very friendly! Nothing fancy about the place but the food is great!

    (5)
  • J D.

This is up there with some of the best falafels I have had in nyc and abroad. Great toppings. Best of all, the guy at the counter is probably the friendliest and most helpful person I have ever seen at a falafel joint, no question. Definitely give this place a try. Huge portions. Super authentic israeli style falafel.

    (5)
  • Victor Z.

Great customer service. Josh did a great job of explaining every item on the menu suggesting his own favorites. I recently moved to the area and will definitely become a regular without a doubt. I'm looking forward to try their shawarma and falafel next time.

  • Walt H.

Wonderful place; awesome food; great service. Chen and Josh create an amazing experience.

    (5)
  • JL R.

This place is on point! I had a shawarma pita sandwich today and it was probably the best I've ever had. The quality of their ingredients is superb. On an earlier visit I had an excellent shawarma plate... But that's a bit of a misnomer--they give you a heaping plate of meat, and ANOTHER plate full of hummus, salads, and whatever else you want, plus pita (maybe that explains the name!). On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable and the guys who take your order and prepare your meal are friendly. I'll be returning to Pita Plus often!

    (5)
  • Carly A.

Chen was really awesome he makes great suggestions and super friendly!! - the food was 100% hands down the best and really made me feel like I was back in Israel!! loved the shawarma can't say enough great things about this place!!!

Great shawarma with yummy, fresh salads! The hummus was amazing and the owner and workers really take pride in their food! If you have a craving for a pita I highly recommend this place!

Found this place thanks to yelp & I LOVE it. The food is cooked & made right in front of you. Prices were reasonable. Portions were perfect and the falafel was deeelicious. We came on a Saturday and the gentleman at the counter was very nice & helpful with our order, suggesting items we may want to try but in a polite (not pushy) manner. Another local favorite!

Excellent choice for kabob, falafel and Middle Eastern salads. Proprietor is great and portions are large. It's open on Sundays despite what it says on line.

First time there and I can say with no reservations, that this was the BEST falafel I've had in years! And I'm comparing it to falafel in Jerusalem. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Amazing! Great food. It's all very fresh and real. The service was on point as well. We will definitely be making this a regular stop.

Hands down best Pita around. Chicken, Shawarma, everything they have is so awesome!!! What separates them is the service. The whole staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home! I am a customer for life!!

I am addicted to this place! I have eaten here a few times now and everytime is as great as the first. I do tend to order the same thing, The Chicken Shawarma with the Israeli Salad, but I can't help it LOL, its that good. I prefer to get it plated, compared to stuffed in the pita as a sandwich. I love that there is a pickled salad bar with fun things like mini eggplant and also this is the first Tahini sauce that I have enjoyed. Most places it is very creamy and not here. A friend went with me this time and ordered the Pita Plus Mix as a sandwich and he couldn't believe I had never shared this place with him before. The staff was extremely friendly and took time to explain what everything was my first time and even made suggestions. I will definitely be a regular!!!!

Maybe I went on an off day. All the other reviews said the place was great, but my Schwarma sandwich was extremely mediocre. The meat was dry, the bread was packaged, hard and cold and the veggies were nothing to write home about. Decent portions and the guy who served us was very friendly and accommodating, but aside from that there was nothing at all I loved about it.

Best falafel I have ever had & that's saying a lot considering I'm vegan & love me some falafel! There are a lot of places in South Florida that basically serve you a ball of dried out breading & call it a falafel but that is absolutely not the case here. Seriously, go eat this falafel & you can thank me later.

ok... I just moved to Florida from New York City and came across this place (on yelp!) and saw the five star rating.... I read the reviews and saw how everyone boasted about how these were the best pita's and the best falafel in life and I'm like "psshhh... better than Rafiqi's on 5th Ave??!! Doubt it!"............. well........... it might just be better than Rafiqi's on 5th Ave in Manhattan. Everything is fresh, the owners are friendly, and the food is just hands down delicious. On my first visit I had the falafel with hummus, garlic sauce, the red sauce that the owner insisted I try (thank you, btw) with veggies and other fresh toppings and I ate THE WHOLE THING. On my second visit I tried the chicken pita stuffed with yummy goodness and I ate THE WHOLE THING.! My little sister, who is the pickiest eater in the world, ATE THE WHOLE THING. I practically had to drag her into the place and force her to taste it, now that's all she wants to eat for lunch!! Anyway, yes, it's good. I will be back... a lot.

Absolutely amazing. Living in Sunrise you tend to notice a lot of different eateries, among them are Middle Eastern fare. I've been to Pita Grill, Pita Oven and Grill and, to the somewhat bearable, Pita Pit. They ask pale in comparison to the excellence that is Pita Plus. To begin with, their menu is extensive enough to please a picky eater but traditional enough to address the more discerning palette. The ingredients that they use are the freshest and most flavorful I've ever tasted at ANY Mediterreanean or Middle Eastern restaurant. Another plus, at Pita Plus (pun intended), is that all of their food is 100% kosher - which means your gonna eat healthy, just not on Saturdays. The two brothers who run the place, are extremely friendly and cordial; quite frankly and in my opinion, this is one of the key reasons that the food there is so good - it's made with love. So, if you're interested in trying a different Middle Eastern eatery, typical kosher food, or some comfort foods (try the grape leaves or fried pita w/hummus!), this is your place. Give them a try and I know you'll agree!

Looking for a place to eat lunch today, I followed the previous reviews on Yelp - and, boy were they spot on. This place is delicious! I had the falafel sandwich. So good. The falafels were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The homemade hummus is a must. The meal was filling and hit the spot. I will definitely be coming back!

Been to Falafels in Coral Springs, Sunrise Pita down the street, and this one is the best. I don't know what they're doing different, but the way they make the Pita is up there. Had the Falafel Pita with hummas, eggplant, hot sauce, salad, and Tahani on top. The falafel has a nice crunch to it, the mixture makes everything taste great. Update 04/03/13 - Restaurant was remodeled. Layout is the same. The floors are new, the walls were painted, and a few other touches. Same great Pitas.

I must say that this is hands down a great place to have an amazing Shawarma. My husband and I tried their grape leaves, their lamb gyro, their chicken gyro, their hummus and fried pita chips and everything was delicious. Please do not leave here without trying their homemade hummus and fried pita chips. Trust me when I say order a second round of the fried pita chips because they are just that good. The service here was extraordinary. Two brothers were running the place on a quiet Sunday afternoon when my husband finally had the opportunity to visit the establishment. They are a traditional Jewish family with their own traditional way of cooking that makes this one of the hottest Pita places to go to. Their slogan says it all: "Best Pita Sandwich ever" and I am convinced. I will definitely have to go here again soon because just writing this review makes me want to order another gyro.

I love this place! I have lunch here 1 to 2 times per week and have never been disappointed. The owners are very friendly and make me feel at home. I can't say I have a favorite dish because the shawarma, falafel, chicken, etc are all great. Everything is fresh and the portions are huge. I actually have to tell them not to serve me so much sometimes.

I decided that I would visit Pita Plus based on the reviews on Yelp I have seen over the last week. This is by far, if not one of thee best places for pitas in the Broward County area hands down. They put a lot of passion and pride into their food and it is incredibly fresh as well. From all the home made delicious salads and toppings they have, to their pickle jar, it is incredibly fresh. I had their falafel pita as I really enjoy great tasting falafel, well Pita Plus absolutely had some of the best falafel I have ever had in my life. To then top it off though with all those delicious home made toppings and salads, (the cucumber tomato salad, and the red cabbage, and the sauces is what I had, they were really good) I was blown away by the taste, flavor, and pure freshness that you get when you order a truly delicious pita from this place. You can also go very health conscious here if you would like as there are a lot of ways to make your meal here very health conscious if you want as far as protein and veggies go. The customer service here is also exceptional as well as they are helpful in your pita making selection. It is a great place to get a quick and very tasty bite to eat during your lunch break in the Tamarac, Broward County area. Pita Plus is sure a place to check out, highly recommended!!

Pita Plus is AWESOME. You walk into the place and are warmly greeted by one of the two brothers that own the place. One of the first things that catches your eye is their house shawarma (they make theirs with chicken and lamb) rotating on a spit right next to the grill and you get this vibe that this place is the real deal. They lay out all the salads/toppings behind a glass counter, and it is a very impressive spread. Hummus, tahini sauce, Israeli salad, tabbouleh, a spicy jalapeno spread, and two eggplant sauces are available to be stuffed in your pita. As far as the meats, I've had the chicken, shawarma, and Pita Plus Mix. If you want healthy, you can't go wrong with the chicken. If you want some grease, go with the shawarma or the Mix. All the juices from the meat run down to the bottom of the pita and make the last few bites absolute quality. They load these pitas up. You will leave this restaurant satisfied. If you're feeling extremely hungry, you can get a piece of laffa instead for $2.00 more. You're going to have to take a nap after eating that, though. I cannot stress enough how good the food is, how fresh the ingredients are (everything is made at the restaurant), and how friendly the owners are. You will not leave this place disappointed.

Went there tonight and was told they don't have any lamb tonight, they got slammed and ran out of lamb. WHAT? That is like McDonald's running out of hamburger patties. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. When I see the word pita, I automatically think lamb. Simply stated, a Mediterranean restaurant should never run out of lamb.

I Love falafel and have had it at many places around in South Florida and honestly Pita Plus has the BEST falafel i have ever tasted! Its located in a good central location. The place is very clean and the food looks super super fresh. The two gentlemen that served me were very very friendly, customer service at its very best. The menu is very good and has something for even the pickiest eater in the group. Do not miss out check out Pita Plus, you'll thank me!

In from California and needed quick bite before a meeting. Found this spot on Yelp. Great food, best pita ever. Not a high end spot in atmosphere but great food. Try the chicken and lamb pita.

If you are looking for fresh Greek style food with out going to a more expensive sit down Greek restaurant then this is your place. Now I have driven by this place for years and have never considered going inside. Just the other day my mom wanted to take me to lunch and suggested this place and I agreed. To my surprise it was delicious, fast, and supper fresh with your food being made to order. For the platters they have a whole bunch of fresh salads to choose from and all taste great. The hummus and falafel were def my favorites from this place and I will go back just to get those items.

I was so happy to find that my favorite Pita Place in Hollywood opened up a new place right near our house. The food here is always good. The sign that says "best falafel" is definitely true! the food is healthy, good value & the service is super friendly.

Awesome! I had the whole wheat Falafel pita. The owner was super friendly and informed me that everything is made fresh every day, which made a huge difference compared to other pita places I've been to. Mine was stuffed with hummus, cucumber, tomatoes, tabbouleh, eggplant, cabbage... and some other stuff the owner thought I would like. It was spicy and delicious. Portion was great, and price was right on. I will be back, without a doubt. Zombie Hunter can't wait to try the Shawarma!
