AMAZING GARLIC KNOTS! Amazing! Worth a trip to have them. This is a cute place in the heart of downtown Stuart. The outside is nice with the outdoor seating, and the smell of garlic from inside lures you in. Inside, the decor is old-styled Italian restuarant. There are booths and tables, but not a lot of room inside. The booths could stand updating; mine had lumps in it. On a weekend night, the place is very crowded. I think for what it is, this place is overpriced. The meals for non-meat dishes, average around $16. I had the olive oil and garlic angel hair pasta. It was good - but nothing spectacular for the high price-tag (I think it was $14, cheapest thing on the menu). I also had some AMAZING fried zuccini sticks. They are served with mariana sauce and they were really good. You get a salad with your meal, but it wasn't good. It was just lettuce, a small slice of tomato, and they put a piece of pepperoni on top. I don't eat meat, so that grossed me out. I didn't like the house Italian dressing at all - not my thing. For dessert, I had the tiramisu. OMG, so delicious. It might be one of the best I have had. Our server was very nice. The food came out quick and she kept refilling our glasses - very attentive, but there were only 2 other couples there when we went (early). Nice place. Decent. I just felt for the prices they charge, it would have been a linen tablecloth-type place, and it wasn't - not at all. If anything, it is just very casual. This is more the kind of place where you would expect they'd have an "early bird special." When in the area, I might go back, or might try somewhere else. Again, you get lured in by the smell when you walk by!

A co-worker mentioned that the next time I'm in Stuart (I'm rarely in Stuart as I live in Delray), I MUST make a trip to Luna's. Well, guess what? The day after she told me that, I was in Stuart, was walking along Flagler and BOOM! There was Luna's! She had recommended I try the Spinach Roll (stromboli) and after seeing them stacked up right there at the "to go" window, I just had to order one. $9.41 and 5 minutes later, I had my to-go bag complete with a Spinach Roll and the side of marinara that comes with it. When it was time to actually eat it...well, let's just say that it was lacking mozzarella. I mean, I understand it's a SPINACH roll, but stromboli is supposed to be much more cheesy than this was. There was hardly any cheese! The marinara on the other hand was REALLY good with a slight sweetness, but not too sweet. Would I go back? Yeah, but I would order a different stromboli. My only other complaint is the high price of this menu item. I can order stromboli at numerous other Italian restaurants in Florida for $1-$2 less, so that price kind of soured the experience a tad bit.

I was pretty disappointed in our visit to Lunas Our party of 3 ordered a lunch pizza special, a calzone, and two sicilian slices of pepperoni. Our waitress frustrated me from the beginning. She refilled my coke with the comment, "you're only allowed one free refill, but I'm feeling generous". I'm not sure why this comment was needed, but I thought that she could have relayed the policy in a different manner. Also, what restaurant doesn't allow free refills on fountain beverages when you dine in? I thought that was pretty tacky considering fountain beverages cost pennies on the dollar. Maybe I'm being picky but the garlic knots were pretty hard and dry but did have a nice flavor. My salad was plain with iceberg lettuce, one slice of cucumber, one slice of tomato, and one black olive. The pizza was decent. Not great, not bad. My husbands calzone needed a little love. The crust was very bland although his toppings were plentiful. There is really no reason to come back here. Two stars because the pizza was...fine.

Service was the issue here. Our waitress spent more time talking with other staff than waiting on us. We had to ask other waitresses for drinks and such each time we needed something. If we could have left no tip we would have. The garlic knots were definitely delicious and covered with parm cheese. Ravioli and lasagna were good just not exceptional. Cute place with seating inside and out, clean and nicely decorated. 3.5 stars for food 1 star for service

Went back to Lunas after a long hiatus hoping it had gotten better. Unfortunately this experience sealed the deal to never come back. Server Andrea didn't have a clue on what real service in the food industry should be. Appitizers came out after the main course. Salads were old, brown, and wilted. Pizza with mushrooms was a cold cheese pizza with mushrooms thrown on top after cooking. The only reason this place got a one star is because it was quiet.

Went to the restaurant around lunch. Sat down placed order the waitress seemed kind of distant. Ordered the vegetarian egg plant Parmesan rolitini. Made sure with the waitress that I was ordering vegetarian since I do not eat pork or beef and haven't for 23 years. She confirmed back to me that it was indeed vegetarian. We order extra rolls at $.40 apiece and she forgets about those and we have to remind her. Get my order and my coworker son asks if there is meat on my dish and I said no there is none because it is vegetarian. Sure enough I get a mouthful of beef and bring it up to the waitress, she just laughs and says there's a meat version and that she must've ordered the meat version and that she sorry for the mistake. I had to wait another 20 to 30 minutes for my food to come out and get the correct order. The food was really good but the service was pretty poor. I was offered no discount or anything for the mistake in my order.

I love Luna's!!!! But unfortunately their pizza isn't what it used to be. It used to rock!!!! Now it's kind of....ehhh ... :/ I don't know what happened! That really sucks. It doesn't have a lot of flavor or zeal to it. It's bland and boring now. The rest of their food is PHENOMENAL! I love the penne Alla vodka! They just need to step up their game on their pizza! For the price of the pizza.... It's a serious let down.

What a great night in Stuart, Florida this past Friday night! We decided to follow up the adorable downtown Christmas tree lighting ceremony with walking the streets, stopping inside a few shops and eating pizza at Luna's. We have smelled the pizza walking past before, but never ventured inside. It was warm and cozy. The quaint atmosphere continued through the garlic knots and the House Specialty pizza. The sausage and pepperoni were delicious. There was a bit more onion than I usually like, but I would definitely order this pizza again. We enjoyed our time and will be back in the future.

I have heard good things from neighbors and friends about Luna. So when our usual was closed for a Summer vacation we decided to give it a try. I will never take restaurant advice from these folks ever again. We were greeted promptly and seated in a busted booth where the only sweet spot was at the very front edge of the seat. Sitting upright was slightly uncomfortable as you kept sliding forward toward the filthy grease and dirt encrusted in the seams and wood grain table. While I fought for purchase in the booth seat I was sad to hear that this place has been open for 22 years. So that is probably when this dirty greasy artifact I have been trying to avoid had begun forming. We ordered the large garden salad that was uninspired and tasteless, the Italian dressing tasted like plain oil. The famous garlic knots were served up in a hand dirt stained rimmed basket that had years of garlic knot remnants still present in the weave. The wine list was unimpressive but it is served up with your servers hand grasping the rim of the glass, repeatedly. Same goes for the plastic water glasses. I don't usually use straws but here I made an exception. We ordered a Neopolitan pizza, just cheese and received a meatball pizza. They took that back and I apologized for being a bit of a mumbler. The did bring us a flavorless cheese pizza that was - a description I have never used to describe a pizza - watery. There was actual water coming from the sauce. It was also terrible, wet, doughy and tasteless. Did I mention that it had no flavor? We also ordered a side of broccoli that never showed up until we asked for the pizza we didn't want to be boxed up. I am still looking at it the box wondering what happened tonight.

I do not understand the bad reviews. We were here the other day and both of us were amazed at how delicious and flavorful everything we ate was. I enjoyed the chicken special and my partner ate Lasagna.........Yum. We would definitely return to this location, without hesitation.

Get the garlic knots. Don't ask questions. They are fantastic, and I haven't found anything comparable in flavor anywhere. I've lived in NYC and Stuart, both for 6 years. I love NY pizza and Luna's definitely comes close. The other entrees have been mediocre, but the pizza is great and the garlic knots are fantastic. Situated in a quaint Florida-typical downtown area, Luna's provides the opportunity to order indoor or outdoor. My favorite thing to do is order food from the outside window and walk into the small corridor left of the building- there are tables in the hallway, beautiful lighting and cute star tiles on the ground. Luna's is incredibly nostalgic for me. We used to go here as High School students, and when I come back to visit my folks I always make a point to stop in. I've brought travelers from Atlanta and New York here, and they have liked it as well.

You can smell the garlic down the block. The fumes are overpowering and mouth watering at the same time. The garlic knots are the best I've ever had. Decent pizza as well (for FL standards). Big fan of the baked clam appetizer - delicious. Service is attentive. Their house dressing is equally garlicky and tasty!! This place never disappoints.

We've given it several tries. A few times for pizza, others for the lunch specials and then dinners. Salad dressing was vey oily and had little taste. Chicken dishes are devoid of flavor, seem rubbery. The pasta dishes aren't anything special. The garlic knots can be good if you get lucky and they are well browned. The restaurant is usually busy with locals and they seem to rave about this place. Perhaps they just don't travel out of their comfort zone. It's your money, do as you wish!

Luna's outside charm did not meet my expectations even partially. We ordered the chicken and veal rolattini and were served two lumps of tasteless mess. The "procuitto" was clearly just sliced ham...the chicken and veal lacked any kind if real seasoning...and both the "brown" sauce for the main dishes and marinara on the side pasta were straight from a can. To top off the bad meal the wine selection was both poor and overpriced. Lastly the service was slow and attention to detail was poor. The server dripped wine all over the table... I will not return.

Dated, dusty, and bland. We ordered drinks only to realize you get one refill and ordered a pepperoni pizza. The pizza came out hot but lacked flavor. I will not be coming back.

We came here for the first and last time with a friend from out of town. Unfriendly service, booths are old and broken, bland marinara on the pasta and flavorless pizza. We won't be back.

Had a Sicilian and regular pie, both had way too much olive oil. And the cheese was sub-standard. I didn't have high expectations but was told it was the best Sicilian around. Sorry state of pizza in Florida if this is true.

We visited Luna's again and had a really good meal tonight. I stuck with the ravioli's with meat sauce and MK had the Luna's Special (which was like a sampler platter) Garlic knots STILL the bomb and all meals were very good, service was fantastic. BIG NEWS is that they now accept credit cards! Hooray for the 20th century ;-p

I want to tell you that I've traveled the world over and had millions of garlic knots and that these are the best. I have not traveled the world but good lord have I tried some garlic knots. These are STILL the front runner, by far. Broccoli stromboli is a delight. I had this crazy stuffed pizza thing one time and it was a doughy nightmare so stick with the knots and non-crazy pizzas.

Just ok - sauce is not impressive. PIZZA, however, is to die for - especially slice by slice at the outside window. Do not think I would return for dinner though.

I'm not sure what kind of person wouldn't like the pizza here (unless they grew up in Florida and like really gross pizza)? So far it's my favorite slice hands down. This comes from a girl who lived in Philly and NYC. I know my pizza. The garlic knots will blow you away (or the person you are breathing on!) I could eat almost an entire bowl myself before my meal even comes. Mainly, this place offers two family friendly options. You can either order a slice and knots at the window and sit outside OR you can sit inside and order from a full menu. First two times we ordered pizza only (and knots). The third time I had the pasta primavera. All three times great service, huge portions, and nice vibe. Sadly, I don't eat dairy anymore so no more pizza or knots for me but their menu offers a HUGE selection of veggie/vegan options (always ask first though before assuming).

Yes, Luna's has really good Italian food (the veggie pizza there is outstanding), but my M.O. for writing this review is to RAVE about the GARLIC KNOTS. The knots are Luna's claim to fame. They are slathered in olive oil and coated with parmesan cheese, soft and chewy and mouthwatering. I consider myself a connoisseur of garlic knots and no one else's comes close. Seriously. If I had no shame, I would go there and just order a bucket of those tasty knots as my entree and chow down. Luna's is not too big of a place so if you go on the weekend evening there may be bit of a wait. But, with its quaint setting right next to the Lyric Theater in downtown Stuart, standing outside and enjoying the fresh air and people-watching while you wait is just fine.

Salad had a good dressing. Everything was downhill from there. Famous garlic knots were like surgical sponges full of oil. Would never have known they were bread!! Party of three. We ordered Veal Picatta, Chicken Picatta and Chicken Franchese. Chicken was tasteless and appeared steamed. Sauce was thick and fairly flavorless. Major disappointment.

Really wanted to like this place, the aroma drew us in from off the street. The hostess was nice enough, but the server was short and not at all friendly. It seemed like we were a nuisance to her while the restaurant was basically empty when we came in. I was in the mood for a light meal so ordered the Chicken Caesar salad. From the reviews I had heard and the price of the items I expected a nicely grilled and flavorful sliced breast of chicken or chicken tenderloins with shaved Parmesan cheese. I got a plate of romaine, croutons, and small pieces of cool rubbery chicken that I couldn't eat. It almost seemed like it was precooked frozen chicken that had been thrown in the microwave. The dressing was served on the side, and it tasted fine but likely from a jar...while I was expecting a homemade Caesar dressing from a pricey Italian place. They have better Caesar salads at chains like Red Lobster and Fridays! My husband ordered ravioli in marinara sauce in a casserole dish that came out swimming in water. Expected fresh, homemade Italian food but found what seemed to be premade and frozen. The place actually filled up before we left, no wonder everyone else seemed to be ordering pizza!

I used to come here when I was little kid and I loved it here. I'm not sure if I just came on a bad night, but my experience here was awful. The food was just greasy and awful. They tried to make up for this by giving you about a pound of pasta on each plate. Just simply doesn't fix anything for me. Much better places to eat in the Stuart area. Don't waste your time here.

Can I just say "UNBELIEVABLE!!!" This little cafe reminds me of cafes in Columbus Park in San Francisco. Just everything is homemade and original. And charming too. I was visiting Hutchinson Island from Chicago and one evening & decided to look for somewhere to ear dinner. The staff were so friendly to me as a single, and I had their small Italian salad - the dressing is the very best I have ever had. A balsamic mix with garlic, and other herbs. The meatball pizza (small) that I ordered was too big for me, but also incredibly delicious with it's thin crispy crust - also homemade. Oh and do not let me forget the little rolls called garlic knots! Oh they are melt in your mouth fabulous!! I swear you cannot eat just one!! So all this, & I did not want to leave! My waitperson was friendly and very accomodating. She was great. Being from Chicago with all the Italian restaurants that are good, but nothing like this Italian Gem of a restaurant in Stuart!! Run to Luna Cafe!!

I got the Ravioli with Vodka sauce. Everything was great for our experience. The garlic knots are the shit here! The salad was OK, nothing special, the lettuce was not warm, but it was just Iceberg, I usually look for a little more out of a salad. The service was a little slow for them being not too terribly busy. I felt it was a little to pricey too, even for the portions. If anything just go for the garlic knots....

I love Luna's. BEST garlic knots hands down. When I go I usually order the Eggplant Parm. It's delicious. My mother has come up from Miami and LOVES this place. My husband has tried a variety of dishes and always seems satisfied. It can get busy on the weekends so it's good to get there either early or closer to closing. I can always depend on Luna's for a good meal on a Friday or Saturday night. We've also taken friends to this place and they loved it.

blech. i dunno. i thought florida had enough italians in it to avoid things like this. the two chicken entrees i tried and the looks of the other meals were reminiscent of something really bad. i'm not even sure what. i think it was sort of like the time i got really excited to eat in the dining car on amtrak. i'm thinking it deserves a second chance at the pizza window though. the garlic knots really are DA BOMB! really fresh and covered in good stuff. portland really deprived me of knots. i need more. so i will venture back and see if the pizza at this place is any better.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

We love the location in downtown Stuart but the food was just OK. Good service, cozy interior, reasonable prices for the location and portion sizes.

The garlic knots are a must have no matter what u get add a few to your order they are amazing

Great meal -- chicken rolatini with broccoli -- everything delicious -- just wish our waitress hadn't taken several apparent personal phone calls out in the hallway

Pizza way too hot!!! 7000 degrees!!! Cheese tastes like it is from St. Croix. It took 35 minutes at the window. Not recommended!!!!

Asked a local where to eat and she recommended this place. Garlic knots were excellent and brought out with the meal. We all had entrees, ravioli, chicken, and shrimp. Everything was delicious and service was great. We'd go back again.

Super garlic knots and for $.40/ea a great little splurge

I'm from NYC and never expected to find quality Italian food in FL. Food is great. Staff is very responsive and friendly. Small place gets crowded very easily but then again they pay attention to you.

Garlic knots are a must :)

(5)Patty S.
Just ok - sauce is not impressive. PIZZA, however, is to die for - especially slice by slice at the outside window. Do not think I would return for dinner though.

I'm Italian, will never eat there again

Garlic knots were wonderful. I've never had them before and I'm told these are the best. My ravioli was nice too. Great place for lunch!

I use to really enjoy lunch or dinner at Luna's but in recent months they have been going downhill...

Been going here for years but didn't understand How basic this place really was until I returned. Garlic knots are great although slightly greasy. Salads very basic. Cool location

A definite must for the garlic knots! Pizza is ok.

It is a cute place to have pizza when you're walking around downtown Stuart during one of the many festivals that are thrown down there. The pizza is okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to go eat here.

blech. i dunno. i thought florida had enough italians in it to avoid things like this. the two chicken entrees i tried and the looks of the other meals were reminiscent of something really bad. i'm not even sure what. i think it was sort of like the time i got really excited to eat in the dining car on amtrak. i'm thinking it deserves a second chance at the pizza window though. the garlic knots really are DA BOMB! really fresh and covered in good stuff. portland really deprived me of knots. i need more. so i will venture back and see if the pizza at this place is any better.
(3)Chris C.
I love the pizza here; can't speak to the other dishes. Pizza and Garlic knots are a family tradition for us.
