I have to say that their ceviche was some of the best I've ever eaten. The shrimp hog fish and other entrees was also fantastic. It is pricy but worth every bite. As they say you pay for what you get and this place delivers so bring your check book and splurge and enjoy. Bon appetite Ronn just Ronn The hole in wall food guy.

One of the best restaurants in Stuart! You can enjoy a burger at the bar or a gourmet meal in the formal restaurant. Their crab salad is excellent!

If you're looking for dated decor and food from a 1980's catering hall, then you will be in heaven. Needs an updated menu. The food was bland and presentation was dated. An older crowd that took comfort by food that reminded them of 20 years ago. Some apps are obviously brought in frozen and reheated. Do yourself a favor and skip this dinosaur graveyard....

Sat at the bar on a Saturday night and it was a great experience! Good atmosphere, great bartender (thanks Heather!) and my wedge salad with bacon wrapped shrimp was outstanding. The Hogue Chardonnay was delicious with the salad. The main dining room looked rather stuffy, but the bar is great!

Great place a round table. My Aunt and Uncle are big fans and this is the place they wanted to go to for a quick visit. We got great service the owners came to our table and the room was warm and inviting. We would come back for sure.

The best overall restaurant in Stuart. Everything you order will be a delight from jambalaya to rack of lamb or steak au poivre.. Fun eating it the bar. elegant but casual in the dinning room. It has become our stand by favorite. Very friendly staff. Don't miss this one.

We have eaten here more than 10 times over the past 10 years, and always have a good meal. It is a little off the beaten path, but well worth putting in the effort to find the place. The decor is a little tired, but the food and service are excellent.

I had been here one time before for a company xmas party and the food was great. I finally got around to taking my family for dinner and what a mistake. I should have read on yelp that the restaurant wasn't child friendly! This is no exaggeration. There's no kids menu and all they really had was chicken tenders. I ordered one of the fish specials with stuffed shrimp. It was extremely bland. The best part of the meal was the salad, the dressing was to die for and I'm not much of a salad eater. My niece ordered the salmon. It was a thick cut on some spinach, that's it. My wife ordered a steak pasta dish and barely touched it. The bill was over $100 and I'll be honest, I would have rather gone to Olive Garden. The parking is limited but I knew that. Handicap parking is almost non existent except one spot. My daughter is in a wheelchair and we had to park in the lot over. It's safe to assume we won't return. Stuart seems to really lack in fine dining family restaurants, it's either touristy, no customer service, horrible food, or overpriced. Anyone have any recommendations outside the corporate offerings?

Absolutely fabulous but make a reservation because they are packed on the weekends. Hostess has to apologize for a typically short wait for Chef-Owner, Michele's tantalizing and expert masterpieces of culinary magic. Let me put it this way...the fresh fish comes from New England Seafood, another fantastic restaurant here in Stuart and the owner of that restaurant eats here a few times a week. Make sure you have time to enjoy one of the unique and delectable appetizers which you are well advised to share over a glass of wine, as for some this may well be a full meal in itself. Succulent clams and mussels, Beef Tips over pasta, freshly prepared Steak Tartar, giant yummy Coconut Shrimp with plantains and a Grand Mariner reduction, Baked Brie & spicy cranberry chutney with fresh fruit, Salmon Carpaccio, Beef Carpaccio, Baked Escargot in puff pastry...and so many more amazing choices, it is mind boggling and guarantees a return trip for that item you also wanted but had to restrain yourself from getting. The menu is 6 pages and weighs about 4 pounds. So relax and sip your wine or enjoy one of Heathers enormous straight up martinis with a caesar salad and some fresh hot garlic bread. For dinner, take your time and be transported to the French Countryside with a mouth watering Lamb Shank, falling off the bone, simmered all day in a Cabernet reduction, or a farm raised Canadian Duck sliced into medallions, maybe seared Diver Scallops over spinach sauteed in olive oil and garlic, a warm Hollandaise with crispy bacon bits sprinkled on top. They have a delicious shrimp stuffed, Parmesan Crusted Hogfish which the chef cannot take off the menu because he gets so many requests for it! Hogfish is a fresh and mild white fish that has teeth. It eats shrimp and lobster rendering a sweet, delicate flavor to the fish itself. Then it is stuffed with a savory shrimp stuffing, parmesan crusted, baked & served with a creamy, decadent lobster sauce. The milk fed Calves Liver melts in your mouth with crisp bacon and caramelized onions and though not for everyone, it is another frequently requested favorite. There are so many different steak and wonderful fresh fish choices to select from, with weekly specials featuring everything from Foie Gras to Frogs Legs Provencal and the much adored Osso Buco, everyone is bound to find something they love. My favorite is Michele's Lamb Wellington, not always on the menu but if you call ahead, Chef Michele will prepare almost anything. You can request that, Shrimp Wellington, a Chateaubriand, maybe the Pork Loin Cordon Bleu which is breaded and fried, stuffed with sauteed spinach and swiss cheese. Shrimp Cocktail appetizer is not on the menu, but again...if you call ahead and make a special request, you can get it. Apps are all around $10 - $12 Entrees average $18 - $30 and they do not charge extra (or frown on) splitting plates. Sodas and teas $2 and bottomless. Beers $3.50 -$4.50. Drinks are $6 to $9. I can't forget the homemade Apple Strudel, or the Strawberries Romanoff for dessert. Strawberries marinated in Grand Marnier over vanilla ice cream with a walnut bread. Desserts are around $7 and big enough to share with 2 to 4 people. They also have Chocolate Mousse, Cheesecake, Creme Brulee, Bananas Foster or try something different like Heathers Chocolate or Espresso Mocha Martini for dessert. I recommend you come with a date, for a special occasion and bring your appetite! The prices are not too bad considering the superb preparation, consistent quality and excellence of the food as well as the hefty portions and affable service. Life is too short not to enjoy a dinner or a few at Courtines, which is why they do a brisk business in GIFT CERTIFICATES. There is just too much here worth coming back again and again for. One of Stuarts best kept secrets!

Wow, what can I say? On our last night here in Florida, my parents suggested a little more biz casual dining in Courtine's. (10/22/2008). It is a converted house-type place, but to reiterate what Tim said, it can be very difficult to find. When they built the new Roosevelt Bridge, all of the businesses on the old route have sort of disappeared, but only because you're driving several hundred feet above them. Courtine's has been here for many years and although this was my first visit, you can tell they are dedicated to bringing excellent cuisine to the area. We ordered some appetizers and let me tell you that they are quite huge and for an individual serving size, they could cut back a little bit. I thoroughly enjoyed the Beef Tips New Orleans which were blackened beef tips served rare, on top of a bed of Angel Hair pasta with a jambalaya sauce. Just fantastic and frankly could be a full lunch. MK ordered the Almond crusted brie and said it was very tasty and the crust was very flaky. Mom ordered the same. Dad ordered the Lump Crabmeat Tower which is layered with mango and a garlicky cream dressing. Two of us took the salads with our dinners and two took the soup du jour which was a minestrone-type soup but not minestrone. For mains, I ordered the Peppercorn Crusted Filet Mignon and was thrilled with the quality, quantity and taste. It was plated with 5 potato medallions (fried perfectly), a bit of red cabbage and a small zucchini with parmesan crust. MK had the regular Filet which comes topped with a horseradish garlic butter and the same sides. Dad had the Calves Liver Lyonnaise and his only complaint was that since it was a thicker cut than he's had there before, the Medium Rare request had it just a tiny bit too rare in the middle. They quickly took it back into the kitchen and corrected it to his liking. Mom had the Chicken Breast Grenobloise and was thrilled with it. It was a panko breaded chicken breast with capers, tomato and lemon butter. We ordered two desserts: A flourless chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream served with fondue chocolate sauce, mango and strawberries, and the hot apple streudel topped with vanilla ice cream. Apple streudel was fabulous, flourless cake, sort of dried out and not as good as we've had at other places. Definitely a spot to come back again. They were somewhat busy for a Wednesday night during off-season but the crowd seemed very much like "regulars". I guess if someone had something bad to say about this place, it might be that the patrons tend to be a bit stuffy and older, but given the price tab for the meal we had tonight ($225 incl. tip) it's not a place to bring out the young family on a regular basis. They also had two smaller private dining rooms which were occupied by two different drug companies on this night. Everyone there was very helpful and attentive and took great care to ensure that our 10 month old was doing fine and had everything we needed.

We love this restaurant. Everything here is good. Their early bird special is a great deal: salad, entree, and dessert all for $18. Must get your order in by 5:30.

Courtines is a combination of a brasserie fare with Floridian influences, it is actually hard to classify properly. I suppose it did start out as a French restaurant and with time it gradually developed into this unusual flori-fusion cuisine. What works: Menu is very imaginative, I simply don't know any other place in Florida where you can get a spinach strudel with crispy fried mushrooms filled with crab meat. The more traditional menu choices are also executed properly, lamb shanks are paired with thyme as they are supposed to and chopped liver is simply the best on this side of Dixie-Mason line. There are numerous other menu choices that are simply good, they feature no less than 3 fillet-mignon's prepared in different ways (peppercorn crusted, with Gorgonzola cheese and regular), their seafood execution is very imaginative as well. Good example of this is the snapper which is prepared "a la Grenobloise", a very lemony, buttery, croutony style of French Alps. Now you normally expect this with the trout or other fresh water fish but apparently it also works really well with tropical fish, as yellow tail snapper on the menu can attest. What doesn't work: Location. This is the only place in Stuart that I actually need a GPS to get to. For some reason I always get lost trying to find the place. I also don't like their menu wording. This is not Courtine's only issue, I think every other restaurant in Southern Florida uses word "starch" to describe the entrees. Why stop there, why not use words like carbohydrates, rhizols and hydroxypropyls on the menu as well ? Please, if you are serving rice just say say so, if choices include potatoes or corn or cereals, there are much nicer ways to arrange this information on the menu. "Starch" denigrates the restaurant by a proxy, cheapens the place just because of the bad association, I always have this terrible image of a golden coral like buffet that truly does serve starches. --- Courtines is one of the better places in Stuart, it is very comparable to Miami scene, think Les Harais and Anthony Bourdain being transplanted to a very strange place under the bridge in Martin County, add some personalized menu choices (jambalaya and chopped liver under the same roof) and you can arrive at what the restaurant is. 5/5, Much recommended.

Tammy, our server, was so helpful and accommodating. She made great recommendations. The menu choices are extensive and each sounds delicious. Salmon, veal and shrimp scaloppine and boulibase were incredible. Our meals were delicious from appetizers to dessert. We were over the moon satisfied.

We finally visited Courtine's after years of having their food at catered events. As others have mentioned, the place is very outdated, as are some of the patrons. However, the food we delicious! We had escargot, stuffed filet, and a strawberry dessert, which all put me into a food coma! We look forward to treating ourselves to Courtine's again!

Fantastic high end restaurant! You won't be disappointed - my mom's favorite was Liver & Onions with bacon. Dad's was Stuffed Hog Fish and mine was Filet Courtine's. Filet stuffed w Gorgonzola and spinach. We had Keylime Cheesecake Flan for dessert! Crazy delicious!!

We have been here three time. The first two were invites and our friends treated us. I know... good friends to have. Let's start with the decor. Honestly, I don't mind it. Very relaxed and not trying to be something it isn't. It's a bit dated and I know some people aren't crazy about the place and comment on the environment, but I am not seeing that. I am always comfortable there. The staff are always pleasant and I have not been disappointed in the food, wine or price. I had a killer Bluefin roll, cut into medallions with a nice tempura crust and the wasabi was what it should be -HOT! I usually have a fish and my wife had the special (Osso Buco on the shank), which was served over angle-hair and was plentiful enough she boxed it for home. I had some and it was delicious. For a white wine, I highly recommend the Hogue Chardonnay for $23. Yes, there are restaurants with sunset and water views all around, but try getting into one, in season, when all you want is comfort, good food with friends, when you want. We sat by the window overlooking the bridge and when the freight trains rumble by, it is worth the mile view. We will always go back here.

This restaurant is a real gem but difficult to find in old Stuart. North on Dixie Hwy a few miles from the main shopping district of Historic Stuart lies Courtine's, a Floridian-esque French Brasserie. An excellent menu from escargot to pan seared fish to steaks and veal and lamb specialties. Bring out complementary fresh bread with butter that was good. Triple Tail, which neither of us had heard of previously, was the clear winner as favorite dish of the night. A light whitefish, pan seared and served over angel hair pasta with mussels was superb. Caesar salad was served with anchovies upon request and was great. Also they have a panko crusted fish of the day which was the yellow tail snapper with capers and lemon butter sauce, scrumptoius! Kind of funny that they list comes with a side "starch" instead of the actual options. Definitely a place to stop and dine at for a change from the other passable places in the heart of town. Just make sure you look up the location and directions prior to coming.

It was just ok. Decor was dated. Needs facelift and new menu.

If you're looking for a great meal go to Courtine's! We live nearby and love eating in the bar. They have a bar menu which had some things different then the main dining room. Best hamburgers in Stuart. My wife's favorite. I always get the hogfish. I've had their steak too - very well prepared.

One of my all time favorite Restaurants. Sort of a Florida French fusion menu. The food is always consistently Delicious. Try the Hog fish special or the shrimp & Fl. Lobster pasta in a sherry sauce. For an appetizer you can't go wrong with the stuffed portabella mushroom or if the timing is right the seafood crepe is to die for. (it's an occasional special) The service is always fantastic. Make sure you make a reservation. It's small and a popular place for people who like to dine well.

Excellent. Escargot to die for. Wonderful food, service, excellent wine list. I had the fillet and my husband had duck both were excellent, done to perfection. On the pricey side but worth every cent considering we have spent the same amount on much lesser quality. Can't wait to go back.

I have been going to Courtines since it first opened. Never did I feel age was a factor (35 now.) food is fantastic, especially the Escargot, rack of Lamb, and Jambalaya. Have been there with a three month old and a 1 1/2 year old. Very accommodating. The wait staff is great as well... The owners also interact with the patrons every time i have been!!! By the way, it is not hard to find.
